NIBELHIEM

Get into the buggy and head down the hill and then go to the North. Cross the river and you will come to Nibel, at the foot of the mountains. Get out of the buggy and enter. It might be quite a good idea to save first. You enter the ruins of Nibel...to find that they are not ruins, but completely as they were before the fire that Cloud mentioned earlier. The only thing you really need to do here is to look in all the buildings surrounding the well and talk to the men in black capes, as they give you items. If you want to find out what is going on, go into Tifa's house and look at the letter on the desk in her room. The next compulsorary place to go is Mount Nibel. But it might be interesting to head to the basement of Shinra mansion first... Incidentally, if you wish to get optional character Vincent, at this stage or later, then head up the stairs of the mansion and enter this code into the safe: R36 L10 R59 R97. You will then have to fight Lost Number. He is difficult so it may be an idea to wait until later.

BOSS: LOST NUMBER (OPT).
Level: ?
HP: 7000
MP: ?
Win: Cosmo memory
Occurence: Shinra Mansion / Disc 1
Attacks: Bolt2 = 600+
Fire2 = 600+

(ATTACK HIM WITH MAGIC AND SUMMONS UNTIL HE TURNS RED. THEN HIT HIM WITH LIMITS AND PHYSICAL ATTACKS. CURE WITH CURE2 IF POSSIBLE, AND CURE AFTER EACH OF HIS ATTACKS.)

Defeat him and you pick up "Odin materia, and the basement key. Head to the secret door down the basement stairs and along the corridor, and you will come to Vincent. Choose to keep talking to him. First, select TALK ABOUT SEPHIROTH, then talk to him again. Select WHO ARE YOU and talk to him again when he closes the lid. He repeats constantly: "let me sleep". Now try to leave the basement and he will follow you. When done, head out of the Shinra Mansion and out of Nibel the back way. You are now on the route to Mt.Nibel. Save the game here. Go in and follow the path round. There are 2 detours. These give you a weapon for Cloud and Red respectivly. Cross the Bridge. Take the 2nd slide from the right to get a weapon for Tifa. !!VITAL!! SAVE GAME BEFORE TALKING TO THE MONSTER!! When you have saved, talk to the monster. It's boss time!!

BOSS: MATERIA KEEPER
Level: 38
HP: 8400
MP: 300
Weak: Ice
Win: Jem Ring
Occurrence: Mt. Nibel / Disc 1
Attacks: Big Horn = 300+
Hell Combo = 800+
Cure = 1000+
Trine = 500+ All

(THE FIRST THING TO DO IS KEEP YOURSELF ALIVE. IF YOU ARE FULLY HEALED, ATTACK HIM. BUT MAKE SURE YOU DON'T KILL HIM YET. WAIT AND HEAL YOURSELVES UNTIL HE USES "TRINE". YOU WILL LEARN THIS WICKED ATTACK AS AN EMEMY SKILL. NO IS WHEN YOU HIT HIM WITH LIMITS, SUMMONS, AND TRINE. MAKE SURE YOU KEEP HEALING THOUGH, SOME OF HIS ATTACKS ARE EXTREMELY POWERFUL)

Pick up the "Counter" materia and leave the cave via the exit materia keeper was guarding. Go around the cliffs and head North. Enter the town you see.

ROCKET TOWN

You enter a town with a rocket sat rusting on the other side. When you enter, look at the weapons shop to upgrade to Gold armlets and get a shotgun for Vincent. It may be a good idea to rest at the inn on the right. Stock up on what items you can while you are here. Buying "Barrier" materia is good if you have enough money. Once you are done, head to the house in the Northeast of the town. Pick up a "Drill Arm" from the box and then head out to the back yard. Once you have spoken to Shera, leave the house and head toward the rusty rocket. Go over the small bridges and up the steps. Then climb up the ladder and go through the hatch. The captain is standing just inside. His name is Cid. Ask him what you want, but don't ask about the rocket until you've asked whatever else you want to. Head back to the house where you found Shera earlier, and talk to her. She will explain what happened to Cid on launch day. That's Palmer's cue to enter. Cid goes outside to talk to Rufus. Follow him to learn where Sephiroth is headed, and Cid get really mad. Shera pokes her head round the door to tell you Palmer's going to take Tiny Bronco. Go out back and see him. He will recognize you, and fight you too.

BOSS: PALMER
Level: 38
HP: 6000
MP: 240
Weak: ----
Win: Edincoat
Occurrence: Rocket Town / Disc 1
Attacks: Mako Gun = 300+

(PALMER IS A COMPLETE PUSHOVER. JUST MAKE SURE YOU HEAL EVERY ATTACK OR 2 AND YOU WILL BE FINE. SCORPION GUARD IS DIFFICULT COMPARED TO PALMER)

After this, the Tiny Bronco takes off. With you in it. You pick up Cid but then you are shot down. You can still use the Tiny Bronco as a boat though. The first thing to do is find out about the "Temple of the Ancients". Yuffie suggests going west if she is in your party. This will take you to her home: Wutai. It's a good place to visit at some point, but she steals all your materia. If not, head east in the shallow water. When you reach the coast, head north until you come to a river estuary. Go in and follow it east. Eventually, you will reach a point where there is a beach either side. Get off on the south one first, and head east. You will see a small house. Go in and talk to the man there. He will tell you about the keystone, and also that he sold it to the guy at "Gold Saucer". Make sure you have 3000 gil spare, because now you go to the beach on the other side and, staying left of the desert, head up to North Corel and Gold Saucer ropeway.

TO THE TEMPLE OF THE ANCIENTS

When you are in Gold Saucer, buy your ticket and head to the battle square. Go in and then the Museum is up the steps to the right. Look at the keystone. Dio comes in and asks if you will exchange the Keystone for a fight in the battle square. Agree. It doesn't matter how well you do, and you will be automatically restored to full health outside the arena should you be defeated. Don't use items in there. You can't win points in this fight and you get the keystone anyway. Play at Gold Saucer if you want, but when you try and leave, the ropeway ia broken. Thankfully, Cait Sith can get you a free night at the hotel. You review with everyone what has happened so far, and then, it's DATE TIME!! Tifa, Aeris of possibly..... Yuffie? Will be your date tonight. A free show at event square is amazing fun!! You act as the stars and what the heck you say is up to you, some triggering very funny reactions from your date. After this, you go around the Gold Saucer on the Gondola in Round Square. When you get off, you see Cait Sith. He has the keystone! Chase him. Just follow where he goes. You can't catch him, so don't worry when he escapes. He throws the keystone to Tseng, and confesses he's a spy. You can't do anything to harm him because he has taken Marlene hostage. Stock up on any items at the shop, and head out of Gold Saucer and back towards the Tiny Bronco. Go south and follow the shallow water southesat until you reach an island. Pass the 1st one and you will come to another island, Get off the Bronco and go into the middle of this island. You see a pyramid structure. Go in.

TEMPLE OF THE ANCIENTS

The first thing you should know is that when you reach the end of the temple, you have to battle one of the most difficult bosses of the game. Make sure you train hard in here. It would be a good idea not to progress too far until your entire party has around 1000 HP. Head up the steps at the entrance and talkto Tseng. He gives you back the keystone and you can go in. You can't come out again until the very end of the temple. Here is the basic route until the next resting point: Follow the path round to the 2nd set of steps. Go down these and go through the small tunnel you saw the little man walk through, and climb down the vines. Go underneath the large steps towards the box you can see. It contains a "trident". Go down the small steps that lead to another set of vines. Climb up. Go around the part with the door way and up the steps which have a shadow concealing their beginning. Climb up the vines in front of you now. Pick up the item from next to these steps. Go down the steps and into the room with the little man in. You can save and buy items from this guy, as well as resting. Once you are ready, go back down the vines and down the large steps, picking up the item en route. Follow this path around and climb down the next vines. Pick up a rocket punch from the box and head down the steps and towards the final set of vines. Go up the steps here and then up the vines if you want a "luck plus" materia. Then follow the little guy out through the door. Run towards each rock and stop where it looks like the gap in the rock is about to roll. Do this all the way to the end and then head back to the purple pool in the middle. Now you will see what happened to Tseng. Your next job is to find the "room with the murals". Head to the end of the path you just battled up. Rest and save with the little guy if you want. At the clock, press triangle to move the clock hands. Speed up time until the small hand reads "X" and the big hand reads "VI". Run across the newly created bridge. Make sure not to get knocked off by the second hand!! You see the little guy lock the door to a room. You have to catch him now. Head to the left of the level you are on and jump down twice. Open the chest to recieve a "work glove". Run in through the door next to the chest. You won't catch him here. Go to the left of the screen and jump to the bottom again. Go into the second door to the left and you should catch him. Rest and save with him. To get the top, head to the tunnel at the very bottom right of the screen. Go into the room. You are at the room with the murals. You talk with Sephiroth now and try to discover what he intends to do. Before you know it, the ground is shaking...

BOSS: RED DRAGON
Level: 39
HP: 6800
MP: 300
Weak: ----
Win: Dragon Armlet
Occurrence: Temple of the Ancients / Disc 1
Attacks: Attack Bite = 400+

(FIRST OF ALL, CAST BARRIER ALL. THEN USE BIO/BIO2 ON HIM UNTIL HE IS POISONED. MAKE SURE YOU HEAL WHERE NECESSARY. IF YOU HAVE CLIMHAZZARD BY NOW THEN USE THAT WHEN YOU CAN. KEEP BASHING HIM WITH TRINE AND SOME SUMMONS AND HE SHOULDN'T BE THAT DIFFICULT. THIS ONE'S JUST A WARM UP...)

Pick up the Bahamut materia and go to the model of the temple at the end of the room. Select "leave it". When Cait Sith calls, allow him to do what he suggests. Get out of the room and SAVE!! Go to the entrance to the right of the room with the murals and across the clock which is now fixed into place. As soon as you touch the gate on the far side of the room, all hell breaks loose. So make sure you have Bahamut equipped, and if you can't beat him when you fight, you can reload and train inside the room with the murals.

BOSS: DEMON GATE
Level: 45
HP: 10000
MP: 400
Weak: ----
Win: Gigas Armlet
Occurrence: Temple of the Ancients / Disc 1
Attacks: Cave-In = 1000+
Demon Rush = 1200+
Swipe = 300+

(PURE EVIL. FIRST OF ALL, USE BARRIER ALL. THEN CUREIF YOU NEED TO. THEN USE BAHAMUT. THEN CURE. THEN ANY LIMITS YOU HAVE. THEN YOUR NEXT MOST POWERFUL SUMMON. THEN CURE. REMEMBER TO RENEW YOUR BARRIER WHEN THEY RUN OUT. HAVING MORE THAN ONE CHARACTER WITH LESS THAN 1200 HP FOR THIS BATTLE IS A REALLY BAD IDEA. AS SOON AS DEMON GATE INJURES YOU, CURE. GOOD LUCK.)

CETRA AND THE FIVE FOOT BLADE

Once it is beaten, Cait Sith comes in. When Aeris askes how compatable she and Cloud are, he says they are perfect. Ahh. You go outside as Cait Sith takes care of everything. The temple shrinks and Cloud climbs down. But something isn't right. His mind is buzzing, and he hits Aeris. Sephiroth appears. It seems like he's messing with Cloud's mind, and Cloud gives him the black materia!! Cloud passes out, and when he awakes he is in the town of Gonagaga, and Aeris is missing. First of all, leave Gongaga and head south towards Tiny Bronco. Sail east around the coast of the continent until you find the river near the Gold Saucer. Go through to the west of the continent, and head north. At some point there will be a part where the shallow waters of the continent you have been travelling around and the northen continent meet. Cross over here and land at the nearest beach. Head to the forest and then the town there. This is called "Bone Villiage", an archealogical town. Talk to the guy near the chest about the "lunar harp" and how to excavate it. You can buy new bangles etc. from him as well. Press square and select done. Then press square to ignite the bomb. Climb up the ladder to the second level and look for where the smoke from the hut drifts over to the second level. Tell the staff to dig about halfway up that plume of smoke by standing there and pressing square. Look in the treasure box in the morning and you will probably find the lunar harp. Go back up to the second level and into the forest. Run through the first part of the forest. Quickly chase the "Kjata" materia when the forest awakes, then keep running forward. Go off to the right and UNDER the log. There you will find the water ring. Make sure to equip it with somebody. Then head back and up the stone steps and through the log. Follow the path round and save when you reach the world map. Head down the right path when you reach the city of ancients. Take a right and climb the first shell for an item. For other items, check in other shell houses. When you reach the one with the beds, collect and equip the Enemy Skill materia before resting. But then you must rest. When you feel Aeris' presence, head back to the entrance of the city and take the central path. Climb to the top of the shell to get the comet materia, then head down the steps that have materialised. Follow the steps all the way down and save. Go over towards the Altar and jump to it. Cloud's mind starts playing up and he raises his sword to attack Aeris. He shakes this off, but then Sephiroth come diving down from above. Aeris' angel of death falling from the heavens. He thrusts is blade through her back and her white materia falls off the altar. Sephiroth tells Cloud he can't be upset. And then it is time for Jenova...

JENOVA*LIFE
Level: 50
HP: 10000
MP: 300
Weak: Earth
Win: Wizard Bracelet
Occurrence: Forgotten City / Disc 1
Attacks: Reflect
Swipe = 400-700+
Aqualung = 1500+
Stop

(IF SOMEONE HAS THE WATER RING, YOU WILL BE PERFECTLY FINE, AS JENOVA KNOWS ONLY WATER ATTACKS. JUST HIT HER WITH WHAT YOU HAVE. IF YOU HAVE MBARRIER, USE IT, AS THIS WAY EVBERYONE CAN SURVIVE AND LEARN AQUALUNG.)

Sephiroth tells Cloud he is...a puppet. Cloud takes Aeris' body to the water outside and gently lowers her in. He asks the rest of your party to stay with him as he continues his journey to get his revenge. Thus endeth disc 1...

2. FIELDS OF SNOW

From the shell you are at the entrance of, head along the path, and a short scene will show the direction in which Sephiroth has gone. Follow this path. Walk to the first spike of this shell to jump up. Follow this path up and around until you reach the top of the shell. Then head down the outside of the shell to come to a long spike that bridges the gap towards the next cave. Go into this cave. Go to the second gap in the wall and climb up. When you get the option, go left. Climb up the next gap along in this direction. At the first point where you chose a direction, go either way. Jump back onto the gap and continue up. Jump left towards the box. When you have, climb down to where you decided the direction for the first time and go right. Head over to the gap on the far side and climb down towards the box. You get a "hypnocrown". Climb back on and head up towards the next bow and you will recieve your 1st megalixer. Then go back to the gap and jump left. Climb up the remaining gap in the middle. Climb down the ladder here to find "magic plus" materia. Then climb back up the ladder to the top, and exit through the gap on the right. In the next area retrieve a power source from the chest there, before exiting onto the snow fields of the Northen Contenent. Head west first of all, to go around the mountains. When the mountains arn't in your way anymore, head North, and then east. Keep following the mountains round until you come to a small villiage. It is a good idea to save, then go in.

ICICLE INN

First of all, head to the shop. The building closest to the entrance on the left. Buy and sell anything you need from here. The weapons are expensive, but very good. Go into the building to the right of this now. Here you will find very interesting information on the Cetra, the "weapons" and Professor Gast. Go down the stairs and find a Turbo Ether by the side of the bed. When you are done looking in here, explore the other houses to see what you can find out, and rest at the inn. If you go up the stairs at the inn you can find an X-Potion. In the house at the far right, take the glacier map on the wall and pick up the items from inside the room behind. Now make sure you are done before you attempt to go down the slope at the far side of the town. Tell the man that you are still going when he tries to stop you. Elena will arrive with some soldiers. To dodge her punch, repeatedly tap UP LEFT RIGHT in that order. When she rolls down the hill go into the house with the dog outside. Talk to the boy and he will give you his snowboard. Now try and head down the hill again. It is a good idea to talk to the man and ask him to teach you how to snowboard. Then go past him and roll down the hill. Now, it's snowboard time!! Collect as many balloons as you can, and try to keep the pace up!! At both forks in the route take a right, and you should jump preety far. Follow the roads in correspondance to the map, and just try to head towards the tick. Don't worry though, if you are lost for long enough you will collapse and be rescued!! When you reach the hut, go inside and talk to the climber there. Save your game once he has finished talking to you, and then go outside.

GAEA'S CLIFF

When you climb the cliff, make sure to stop at every ledge and warm your body temperature. When you get into the first cave, flollow the path to the next area. Then yake the 1st exit. Follow this around now to the next exit, picking up the Javelin on the way. Go into the tunnel, which takes you up and around. Push the rock over, and head to the area the icicles were blocking earlier. Go through the tunnel and follow the path to the nearest exit. Climb up the cliff again. At the first oppurtunity, go up. Then, head right. Then head for the next cave. First of all here, go up the path out the right. If you see a Marlboro here, it is a good idea to run like the wind. Collect the fire armlet to the right in the next room, before you have to make u way across. Use aqualung and trine on each of the icicles and you should make all of them fall quickly. Collect the box on the left, a Megalixer, and then jump down and save. Collect the Speed Source from the box in the top left corner, and then jump across the ice bridge to the exit of the cave. Pick up the "Enhance Sword" from the box. Follow the path around all the way. Cross the bridge. Start climbing up again. Go up or right first. When you reach the cave, go in and save your game, as well as restoring you HP/MP from the spring. Now go through to the next area, where you will encounter:

BOSS: SCHIZO
Right + Left head:
Level: 43
HP: 18000
MP: 350
Weak: Right = Ice
Left = Fire
Win: Dragon Fang
Occurrence: Great Glacier / Disc 2
Attacks: Fire Breath = 700+
Ice Breath = 700+
Bolt Ray = 1400+ All

(CAST MBARRIER FIRST, AND THEN JUST MAKE SURE YOU HIT IT WITH YOUR LIMITS AND YOUR BEST SUMMONS. MAGIC LIKE COMET IS ALSO GOOD. DON'T LET YOURSELF GET TOO LOW ON HEALTH BEFORE YOU HEAL.)

Now exit the cliff and climb up. You will see the injury to the planet mentioned earlier, and your next destination.

INTO THE WOUND

Run down the side of the crater. Tifa has to be in your party now. Jump off the ledge after you have put Tifa in your party, and along the path lies "Neo Bahamut" materia. Jump across to the save point and save. Jump the rest of the way across to see Rufus arrive on a airship. Carry on and talk to the men in black to recieve Hi-Potion and Ether. When the wind looks calm, run across the gap. If you miss and get swept off, that is OK but you have to fight a monster. Look in the chest on the right to find a "Kaiser Knuckle" for Tifa. Continue along the path and cross the gap on the other side. Watch out for the energy travelling on the wind as well this time. You now stand feet away from Sephiroth. Make sure to equip anything that nullifies/absorbs fire magic now, as this is the element used by Jenova Death.

JENOVA*DEATH
Level: 55
HP: 25000
MP: 800
Weak: Ice
Win: Reflect Ring
Occurrence: Nothern Crater / Disc 2
Attacks: Red Light = 500+
Silence
Tropic Wind = 450+

(IF YOU HAVE THE FIRE RING EQUIPPED JENOVA CANNOT BEAT YOU.MAKE SURE TO CAST MBARRIER AND USE BAHAMUT/NEO BAHAMUT. IF ANY CHARACTERS DROP BELOW 800HP, HEAL THEM. USE LIMITS WHERE POSSIBLE)

Give the black materia to somebody and collect the "MP Turbo" materia. save the game at the save point ahead. Open the chest to recieve a "poison ring", and then proceed. Cross over when the wind is calm and lightning is not striking, before continuing on. Sephiroth shows your party an illusion. An alternate turn of events to what happened at Nibel 5 years ago...
Rufus arrives to find a solid wall of materia, this is where the "weapons" are housed, and they will make their appearance shortly. Sephiroth tricks the holder of the black materia into coming after you. Cloud takes it, and gives it to Sephiroth. As Sephiroth summons meteor, the area caves in. Taking Cloud with it, and this is where the weapons escape.

ESCAPE FROM JUNON.

As Barret, waddle over to the save point to save your game, after following Tifa and the guard out the first door. Follow them down the steps, and into the room. Once the alarm goes off, Scarlet is gassed by a reporter, who turns out to be Cait Sith. Now He and Barret have to take on some of the forces to get to the airport, after you find the door to the Gas chamber is locked. When you are in control of Barret again, leave the room. The door locks behind him, but then take a right to head towards the airport. When running under the cannon, talk to the newsgirl in front of the guy with the camera. It's Yuffie!! Carry on and take the cargo lift up to the top level and then go right to reach the airship. Now you are back in control of Tifa in the gas room. Use your legs twice to get the keys. Then use your head and legs together. Then use your head and right arm together. Then use your right arm. Press the button on the left to stop the gas. Press the OK button near the door to trigger the next sequence of events. Climb down the side to the cannon. Eventually she will drop. Now run along towards the end of the cannon. Scarlet comes now and it's a slap fight. Hit the circle button rapidly to try and hit Scarlet before she hits you. Do this nemerous times until one of you falls down. Run to the end of the cannon where Barret and the rest of coomandeered the airship: Highwind.

THE HIGHWIND

You are in control of Tifa now. Go inside and down all the stairs. Across the steel girdir and up to the bridge. Go talk to Red and then the learner Pilot. Head off the Bridge and down to the "Operations" room. Talk to the man there and select your party. tell the Pilot you are going, and then you can fly around the world and do whatever you want. Breed Chocobo's, race chocobo's, and even try to excavate a key back into Midgar from Bone villiage.
Eventually though, you have to head to the town on the Southern most continent. It is in the middle of the forest, and is known as Mideel. When there, you can buy weapons, items and accesories, and then Tifa overhears a conversation about a spikey haired man they found in the lifestream...
Tifa stays in the hospital to take care of Cloud as the others go back to the Highwind. You learn that Shinra are planning to destroy Meteor by ramming it with a bomb laden with "huge" materia. Your next objective is to collect it before the Shinra. Barret makes Cid the new leader. First, head to Operations and form your party. Then take control of the ship again and fly towards Corel. Land and go in. Then you need to head back along the train tracks until you reach the Reactor. Here you comondeer a train to try and get the huge materia. Press the 2 buttons alternately as Cid told you at a reasonable pace to catch up with the train. When you jump, you are up against an enemy per car. Once you have defeated the first enemy, heal yourself before jumping to the next car. Heal yourself after him as well, and so on. It shouldn't be too hard to get there and stop the train by doing what Cid tells you. You are then given the "Ultima" materia. Go into the house on the second level of Corel and the woman there will give you Barret's final Limit Break!! Head out of Corel and back to the highwind. Your next destination is Fort Condor in the Junon area. It is the tower looking thing with the huge bird on top. The people inside will explain it's history. Climb up the rope and then the ladder. Go and talk to the man at the table. Now head up the ladder with the blue arrow in front of it. If you want to save first then go up the steps on the right and down. But eventually you have to climb the ladder and go up the stairs to the left. Talk to the guy by the window. Ask him whatever you want, make sure you are clear on what to do before you click "enough". The easiest way to do this is to start the battle straight away, and fight them off when they get to the top. Set tristoners where you can and fire catapults to cover them. Select a row of defenders behind them, and this should be very difficult for the enemy to penetrate. Make sure to put a couple of shooters nearby a well as these are all the Wyverns are weak against. After this, the condor egg hatches. Go out to see the chick fly off, and make sure to pick up the "phoenix" materia. Go back inside and head down the stairs and ladder. Talk to the guy at the table again. Now go back to the highwind and fly iff to Mideel. Make sure you save before you go in, as you are going to have to fight Ultimate Weapon soon. Buy any equipment and materia in Mideel, and stop at the house next to the hospital to get the Elixer. It doesn't matter what you say to the old guy, you still get to keep it. When you are done head to the clinic where Tifa is looking After Cloud. Talk to Tifa and the ground starts to tremble. Head outside and you see Weapon. Here he comes!

BOSS:ULTIMATE WEAPON
Level: ----
HP: 10000
MP: 400
Weak: ----
Win: ----
Occurrence: Mideel / Disc 2
Attacks: Quake2 = 500+
Ultima Beam = 800+
Claw Swipe = 450+

(IF YOU HAVE BARRIER/MBARRIER THAN USE IT. JUST HIT HIM WITH EVRYTHING AND WATCH OUT FOR THAT ULTIMA BEAM. YOU CANNOT DESTROY HIM YET SO JUST SCARE HIM OFF FOR A BIT. REGEN IS ALSO A GOOD SKILL TO USE)

After the battle, the lifestram starts to gush up harder than ever, Cid and the party escape, but Tifa and Cloud are sucked in to it. After a few moments alone, Tifa finds herself inside Cloud's subconsience, and she needs to try and help him find himself.

FINDING CLOUD

First of all head head up the path atthe top and go through the entrance of Nibelheim you can see out there after talking to the Cloud sitting in front of it. Talk to Cloud, and when they are done talking, take the path on the left towards the well. Then a younger version of Cloud appears, and takes you to the remaining path. Talk to small Cloud, to go through the looking glass, to Tifa's house. You see the relationship between Cloud and Tifa as children. Run back down the road to Nibel, and after you have seen these events you will find the truth behind Cloud. Cloud and Tifa are washed up on the ruins of Mideel, and then you are back off to the highwind.

JUNON REACTOR

First off, fly the highwind and land next to Junon, you can do other things on the way if you like, like chocobo breeding. But when you are ready, you've got to head to Junon. Go in and talk to the Shinra guard standing by the big elevator. Run out the door that takes you towards the shops, Cloud points out that it feels like somethings miising. Carry along the road until you reach the point where the guards are training. Follow them toward the door ahead, and go through. You will fight quite a few soldiers in here, but they are all quite easy, so don't worry too much. Exit the lift when you reach the bottom. You wil fight another guard here, when you have beaten him, run down past the dog out the door at the far end. Follow the steps down the next 2 corridors and save your game. Go through the door and press to go down the elevator. Go out here and down the corridor. You come to an underwater path. Follow it around until you get to another elevator. Go in and press the big pink button on the far side. Go out through the door and run all the way along the bridge. Save your game and it might also be a good idea to use a tent. Go through the door at the far side. Go towards the two soldiers guarding the doors, and you will fight 3 soldiers. When these are dead, progress towards the next two guards, they are slightly tougher but they don't really pose a threat. Go through the door and follow the bridge. You will stop briefly to see the huge materia be extracted, but then carry on through the door. Once the dialougue has stopped, DON'T MOVE!!! Make sure you are fully equipped to fight the next boss that is coming up. When you are ready, move forwards to talk to Reno. He sets the Dock Loader on you, and you have to get him out the way before you head to the sub.

GO FOR THE CARRY ARMOUR, AS WHEN THIS HAS RUN OUT OF HP THE ARMS DISSAPEAR TOO. MAKE SURE TO CAST REGEN ON YOUR PARTY, AND USE CURE2/3 WHENEVER YOU GET BELOW ABOUT 1500 HP. Collect the items (scimitar and Leviathan scales) before you head up the ramp and fight all the guards there. You jump down into the sub and fight some more guards. Save your gam ebefore heading forward into the cockpit. It doesn't matter whether you choose to fight here or not. Fighting just gains you more EXP. You can read the manuel now to figure out how to control the sub. When you are ready, sit in the seat and off you go! When you are chasing the red sub, it is not too far away. The easiest strategy is to stay close and fire your torpedoes where ever you can, it should only take a matter of seconds to bring it down. d) Blue Materia - Support

Support Materia is useless on its own, and so it needs to be paired with another Materia, such a Magic, or a Summon, in order to have any effect.

Added Cut: Can be found in the Great Glacier. A single physical attack is performed when the paired Materia is used.

Added Effect: Can be found in the Gi Cave in Cosmo Canyon. The status effect of the paired Materia is put onto the weapon or armour.

All Magic Materia can be paired with an All, except Comet, Contain, Full Cure, Shield, and Ultima. An All has no effect on Summon or Command Materia.

MP Absorb: Can be found in Wutai Item Shop. You will receive the Materia once you persuade Yuffie to give you it all back. Absorbs MP when the paired Materia is used.

MP Turbo: Can be found in the Whirlwind Maze. Consume more MP in order to make the paired Magic or Summon much more powerful.

Quadra Magic: Can be found in a cave near Mideel. You need a blue chocobo in order to get there. The paired Magic or Summon is cast four times, but the MP cost is quadrupled.

Sneak Attack: Given as a prize for winning a chocobo race at the Gold Saucer. The paired Materia is used immediately at the beginning of a battle, even if it is a back attack. If the paired Materia is a Magic then the highest-level magic is used.

Steal As Well: Can be found in the Da-Chao Mountains in Wutai. You need the Key Item Leviathan Scales in order to find it. When the paired Materia is used it makes an attempt to steal. This is useful with Comet2 because it hits multiple times, so it attempts to steal multiple times.

(Magic/Summon/Command) = Counter
When hit, you counter with the paired Materia.

(Magic/Summon/Command) = HP Absorb

MP Turbo = Master Magic/Summon
Quadra Magic = Master Magic/Summon
You cast a very powerful spell or summon four times, and you
absorb both HP and MP.

i) Character Set-ups

All the Materia in this section is mastered to give the optimum
effect. To have enough linked slots to equip these set-ups I
recommend using Ultimate Weapons and Wizard Bracelets (16 linked
slots all together).

The Magician:

HP Absorb = Master Magic
MP Absorb = Master Magic
MP Turbo = Master Magic
Quadra Magic = Ultima
Sneak Attack = Ultima
W-Magic = Mega All
Final Attack = Revive
HP Plus = MP Plus

This set-up is very good as it gives you access to all the
spells in the game so the character has good a variety of
options. The HP and MP Pluses should give the character 9999 HP
and 999 MP, but it depends on your level. As soon as a battle
begins you cast a boosted Ultima four times, absorbing both HP
and MP, and if anything survives that onslaught then you can
cast any other spell twice to finish them off. If you die then
you will automatically cast Life2 on the whole party thanks to
Mega All and Final Attack.

The Summoner:

HP Absorb = Master Summon
MP Absorb = Master Summon
MP Turbo = Master Summon
Quadra Magic = Knights Of The Round
Sneak Attack = Knights Of The Round
W-Summon = Mime
Final Attack = Phoenix
HP Plus = MP Plus

This set-up is similar to the previous one, but this takes
advantage of the incredible power of summoning. The Mega All
has been exchanged for Mime so the character can perform the
Summon again without using any MP. The benefit of this is you
will still receive HP and MP after the summoning. In case you
die you will automatically cast Phoenix, which revives your
party and causes Fire damage to all enemies.

The Thief:

HP Absorb = Master Command
Steal As Well = Master Command
Sneak Attack = Steal
Cover = HP Plus
Mega All = Luck Plus
Counter = Death Blow
Counter = Death Blow
Counter = Death Blow

This is the best set-up if you love to steal from your
opponents. At the start of every battle you will perform a
Steal/Mug on all opponents, absorbing HP in the process. Any
command you chose will steal from all enemies due to Steal As
Well and Mega All. If any member of your team is attacked then
you will cover, and counter three times with a Death Blow to all
enemies, stealing in the process. The Luck Plus is added to
improve your chances of stealing successfully. You could also
equip the Sneak Glove to improve your chances even further.

The Counterer:

HP Plus = Cover
Counter Attack = Counter Attack
Counter Attack = Counter Attack
Counter Attack = Counter Attack
Counter Attack = Counter Attack
Counter Attack = Counter Attack
Counter Attack = Counter Attack
Counter Attack = Counter Attack

Quite simple. Any attack that is aimed at your party is
intercepted, and the poor creature that tried to annoy your
teammate gets attacked 14 times. A highly recommended strategy
to use against Emerald WEAPON, especially if you have Yuffie and
her Conformer.

The Balanced Master:

Master Magic = All
Master Summon = MP Absorb
Master Command = HP Absorb
HP Plus = MP Plus
Mime = Counter
W-Magic = W-Summon
Final Attack = Phoenix
Enemy Skill = W-Item

This is my basic set-up for random battles. The Master Magic
and the All allow you to cure your whole party or attack all
enemies, the Master Summon and the MP Absorb mean you never run
low on MP, the Master Command and the HP Absorb mean you never
run low on HP, because you absorb HP when you perform 4x-Cut as
well. You will perform 4x-Cut if you receive any damage as it
is linked to the Counter. If you find yourselves up against a
particularly nasty enemy then you will automatically cast
Phoenix if you die. The Enemy Skill provides you with very
useful abilities such as Shadow Flare, Pandora's Box, and Big
Guard. The W-Magic, W-Summon, and W-Item allow you to use two
of each in one turn, and the HP and MP Pluses are there to
ensure both are at their maximum.
