Mission 1 : Six of One

Armed Scud missiles containing nerve gas have been identified in your area of operation. Locate them and destroy the launchers before they can be used.

The first mission of Delta Force 2 is set in South Asia, where you are required to destroy the Scud launchers. Sounds scary ? Well I’m here to help you through it !

The first thing to do in order for success is to decide what weapons and equipment you must use. This is a vital part of the game, because if you choose the wrong weapons this can lead you into a lot of trouble later. You can choose from many different guns, but as a primary weapon I recommend the M4 Carbine, with attached grenade launcher. The reason for this is mainly because you will need to pick of men at far distances, as well as going in charging about as you do, and this gun is ideal for it. It has both single shot, burst , semi fire mode and even a grenade launcher, each made for sniping or close-quarters. As a secondary weapon I would choose the Socom .45 suppressed, because there is stealth required in order to complete the mission. Enemies will not hear if a close by man is shot; you can shoot at the man from only a short distance away, but this means you don’t have to go around with a knife in your hand which is far more risky. Now you have the tricky choice of what equipment you will take with you. I would either take a satchel charge, as you will need to blow up the launchers, or a LAW which enables you to destroy the launchers without having to go deep into the enemy base. You can also choose something else, and I highly recommend you choose a Kevla vest. This vest restricts the amount of bullets hitting you and the amount of damage, a bit like a bullet-proof vest, but more effective. I would choose this because you will eventually have to go into the enemy’s base, so you need maximum protection. Now you just have to decide which type of grenades you will use. You can choose between fragmention or delayed. I recommend you choose fragmention because these inflict higher damage, so you can also use these to destroy the launchers. Also there destruction range is higher, and as there are many large patrols, you could use these grenades to take them all out in one blow. As well as having to choose your weapons, you already have a Kar – Ba knife, laser designator and binoculars which will all prove useful later in the mission.

Now I have recommended to you the best weapons to use, I think I should now get on to tell you how to complete the mission. You are inserted south of the target area, which means as you approach will be spotted, so it is best to keep to the hills for cover. As you go up along the hills, you will see a 2 man patrol and you will be advised by your overwatch to avoid contact. In my opinion I think this is a bad idea, so I recommend that you either take out the patrol using your Ka – Ba Knife or your Socom .45. The enemy will be surprised and will not alert the guards, as both methods are silent. It is a better idea to use your Socom .45, rather than having to go right up close to the enemy with your knife, as they will hear your approach. Once you have eliminated the patrol, it is a good idea to go up into the mountains, as you will have a better view of your surroundings and targets. Once you are satisfied with your position, take out the remaining patrols and guards by the 2 Scud launchers.
Once the area is cleared it is time to destroy the first two launchers. I recommend that you save your air-strikes, and destroy them with your Law as you want to save you satchel charges and air-strikes till later. Once destroyed, turn to the south and you will see two more launchers. Observe that there are more men, and some reinforcements have arrived from the nearby base. It is too risky to go into the action without cover or on your own, so take this opportunity to destroy the troops and launchers using the air-strikes, activated with the laser designator. The first shot might miss, so it is a good idea to get a better view by going closer, so the air-strike is more accurate. The air-strike will have killed most of the surrounding men, so do not worry, but still proceed with caution. If there are any survivors take them out either by using grenades or your M4 Carbine. You will now have destroyed most of the targets, but the final Scud launcher remains inside the enemy base.
You can destroy the launcher using many different tactics and techniques, but I thoroughly recommend that you use mine, as it is the quickest and easiest way for beginners. You may find now that the whole base has already been alerted, due to the loss of 4 of their Scud launchers. Now it is alerted you will have a tricky job to get in there without getting shot at. The first step is to try and get as close to the base as possible without getting seen or shot at. This may mean having to go alongside the hills for cover, instead of having to go out into the open. Once you have found a good spot which is covered ( either by tree, rock etc…) and you have a good view of the whole base I would now start to attack.
Start off by getting the easy men which will be stationed by the fence ( using your M4 Carbine, single-shot mode ) before the enemy now what is happening. Once they are eliminated start to look around the base using your scope, or binoculars for increased range, to see if there are any remaining troops. There will be one high up in the tall, grey tower and one in the hut. There will also be others taking cover into the buildings. Once you have killed all the enemies proceed into the enemies base, using caution, and once close to the entrance take out your Socom .45. This will not alarm the enemy if you take down any men and they will not realise that you are in their base.
Once you are sure you have eliminated the whole resistance, destroy the last SCUD launcher, any way possible. Then when all the goals have been completed make your way to the extraction point, on the N/W side of the island, use your mini map for its pin point location.

WELL DONE YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE FIRST MISSION !!!
I WILL TELL YOU THE 2ND MISSION LATER, BUT ITS TIME FOR TEA
