Retro Game Walkthroughs for RuneScape (PC Games)
Submitted By: FB
Hi everybody! I did promise to write a walkthrough about The Christmas Warble in this section(everybody who read my Runescape forum and sorry I meant tips and easy routes, not cheats because there are NO CHEATS IN RUNESCAPE WHATSOEVER!)
Well, here we go......
The Christmas Warble
Note: This is NOT a dangerous quest! So don't be scared!
~Story: The Queen from the Land of Snow has invited everyone in Runescape(well except the nasties) to a Christmas feast in the Land of Snow but unfortunately, a mean, selfish, cruel, crabby wizard called Scourge has wreaked havoc on the feast and has taken all the food and the worst part...KIDNAPPED SANTA!
Can you save the Land of Snow and stop this evil man in time?!
~Difficulty: Easy and a bit confusing at first
~Recommended items: Bucket(optional and it will save you searching the house for a bucket but you may accidentally find one.)
~Start: You can start this quest from Varrock, Draynor Village or Falador. Somewhere(heh heh) in each of these places, there is a present icon on the map in your selected location. Make your way to the present icon and you will see a partygoer and a wardrobe. If you talk to the partygoer he/she will tell you a little bit about the quest. Sigh. Anyway, step through the wardrobe and you will be whisked off to the Land of Snow. When you get there, you will find a partygoer next to the wardrobe on the other side. Talk to him and he will tell you to talk to one of the snow imps you met last Christmas(if you did the quest.) I found my imp standing right next to the Partygoer so try that. After all that, more talking. :( Talk to the imp and he wil offer to help you and he will follow you from that point on until you ask him to go away at the end of the quest. You will officially start the quest.
Confronting Scourge 1
Go straight North and you will find a gate, pass through the gate and you will arrive outside Scourge's house. Go inside and go to the west side of the house. Talk to him and he will be very angry with you(spoilsport.) Click, "Why did you ruin the Snow Queen's feast?" and then click "We are here to ask you to release Santa."and he will disappear in thin air as he is furious with you.
Your imp will then suggest you scare him with a ghost costume.
The Ghost Costume
If you explore the house and search in all the cupboards and barrels I'm sure you will eventually find some bedsheets, a chain,
a needle and thread. Hint: Search in the cupboard in the room you confronted Scourge for the bedsheets, and in the North East Room for the chain. Use the needle on any of the items for the ghost costume and it will be made. Note: All the pieces of the ghost costume are seperate, including the hood and the cloak.
Confronting Scourge 2
Next, you will need to know a bit about Scourge's past so you clearly understand what horrible thing he did in his early life. Well, you'll need to ask someone, won't you? Exit Scourge's house and pass through the gate and go to the far east of the feast and you will find a tent. Enter it and talk to the Snow Queen inside about Scourge's mistake and past. She will weave her tale about her and Scourge falling in love but unfortunately Scourge left Gielinor and The Snow Queen fell in love with Santa and Scourge was furious so he wreaked vengeanance on the Land of Snow.
Now, put the Ghost costume you made on and unequip anything in your hands into your inventory otherwise it won't work. Enter Scourge's house(again) and go upstairs. A cutscene will play about Scourge awakening and he will come towards you. You must select the right word options to scare him, so select the following when it comes on screen.
1. I am a ghost.
2. The weight of my sins.
3. What about betraying the Queen of Snow?
He will cast a spell on 6 of the party guests, they will be frozen in his flames and the cutscene will play. Memorise or write down the order of the red sparks and remember it in in reverse(The other way round starting from the last person who was cursed. He will tell you to clear off and he will laugh wickedly.
Freeing the guests
If you have a bucket with you go to the fountain west of the left side of the tables and fill your bucket up in the fountain. If you don't go find one. You will fill it up with special ICY WATER. Now,
think about the proper order of the sparks and pour the water on the frozen people in reverse. So if Tiny Thom was cursed last, pour the water on him first. Keep going until you have freed all the guests. If you make a mistake, the spell will be cast again and it will reset, But don't worry, the order will still be exactly the same.
Confronting Scourge 3-4
Tiny Thom will complain about the party being ruined and the imp helping you will suggest you use Thom to make Scourge stop his evil ways. Once again, keep the ghost costume on, unequip anything in your hands and enter Scourge's house, up the stairs(again!!!!!) and another cutscene will play. Choose the following word options:
1. Not until you have seen what I have come to show you
2. Tiny Thom
The imp will explain about how cross Tiny Thom is as he appears. Then Scourge will still appear uncaring and selfish(as usual and you will be sent downstairs.)
The imp will suggest you go up one more time and scare Scourge for good. So, upstairs and the third cutscene will come and you must selct the following gestures.
1. Angry
2. Scare
3. Dramatic Point
Your imp will make Scourge's gravestone appear and Scourge will beg you to stop scaring him and he will change his ways.
He will restore all the food, presents and he will release Santa.
Go outside and pass through ol' gate and look for Santa. Talk to him and he will thank you for all your hard work. He wil tell you to find a certain coloured present under the Christmas tree in the North East corner. Open it and there will be a scarf for your imp and a candycane for you. Congrats! QUEST COMPLETED! :) :)
Rewards:
Candy Cane
Winter Gestures:(You will get all of them if this is your first winter quest.) Dramatic point, Snowman Dance etc
Ghost Costume
Music Tracks: Silent Knight, Smogsabord and Ghost of Christmas Presents.

PART 2
*New players please read my first walkthrough for assistance*

So you've been playing Runescape for awhile now. You've gathered abit of gold in your bank, you've explored the skills you can develop and your not too shabby with a sword. At this point, you'll probably be engrossed with completing quests if you're anything like I was.

The quests in Runescape are a mixed bag. Some require very little effort and are extremely easy to complete, but other quests can be more difficult, or more time consuming. Worry not though, as the increased difficulty brings greater rewards. The great thing about Runescape is that unlike most MMORPG's, every quest reward will be useful to you personally. In Runescape, the items and experience you earn will be useful throughout the game. You'll never unlock anything that is useless to you thanks to the basic requirements for each quest. For example, you won't be able to complete Dragon Slayer and earn the right to wear a Rune platebody, when your defence is only 20.

So I insist that you explore as many quests as you can find. I've sorted the quests into level bands, some are time consuming, others are quite simple, but are worth completing for the questpoints.

If you're bored of completing quests, try training some of your skills. I recommend either choosing one that you enjoy, or train the ones that you're worst at. That way, you'll either enjoy training, or feel a sense of accomplishment. I recommend multi-tasking for laborious tasks (listen to music etc.) as training can be become extremely boring.

You should find yourself becoming a good player, and you'll start seeing alot of 'green' names once your level is high enough! Sit tight for Part 3!
