Level 1: Mountain Caves

Kills: 14
Supplies: 5
Artifacts: 3
Relics: 1
Additional Secrets: 0

The opening FMV showcases Los Alamos, New Mexico 1945. An explosion occurs and several houses are destroyed. From a crater (from whence the explosion was triggered) a creature escapes and flies away.

The cut scene takes place in Calcutta, India (1996). In a beautiful room, Lara is reading a book when a man approaches her. He throws a book on a table and asks Lara for her attention. She replies he is well on his way, but Larson is here to only make an intoduction. He flips open a notebook that shows a blonde woman on screen and asks Lara to meet with Jacqueline Natla, of Natla Technologies. Natla greets Lara and gets directly to the matter in hand. Her research department studies ancient artifacts and Lara is just the woman to find them for her (Natla). Lara plays for sport and Natla knows it, because this is a game Lara has played before with her father. They both spent years searching for the Scion of Atlantis and all they needed was the location of Qualopec's Tomb. Lara seems surprised that Natla has found Vilcabamba, so Natla asks her how quickly she can get to Peru.

The next cut scene shows the Mountains of Peru. It is cold and is snowing. Lara's companion climbs up a rock using a ladder, but it breaks. He apologizes to Lara, because he did not bring enough rope, but Lara is not worried; she will find another way up.

[Checkpoint] You begin the level on some snowy rocks. From the starting position, head forward and vault onto the rocks. Jump to grab the narrow ledge ahead and shimmy right and around the corner. If you want to move faster, press and hold the Interact button. When you reach the end, jump to grab the next ledge on the right and keep shimming until you see a big rock behind Lara. Jump to grab it and pull up. On Lara's left hand is a ledge that you can jump to. Do that and climb on the next stone ledge. Jump to grab the narrow ledge on the left and again jump to grab the one above and pull up.

Notice the gold ring above to the left. Jump off the ledge and use the Grapple to catch the ring. Swing towards the other side and press Jump to release the Grapple and land on the stone bridge. Go up the steps on the right.

The brief cut scene shows the big closed doors (that, as you can see, lead to the Mountain Caves) and focuses on a ledge above it.

[Checkpoint] You need to reach that ledge, so go up the rocks on the left and jump to grab the ledge ahead. Pull up and, once again, use the Grapple to catch the gold ring above to the right. To do that, jump off the ledge and whilst in midair use the Grapple. Swing and jump to land on the ledge at the other side (or grab it if necessary and pull up). Jump to grab the narrow ledge on the left, traverse to the left and jump to grab the ledge above. Shimmy left and when you reach the end, jump to land on the ledge above the doors. Use the button.

The cut scene shows the doors opening. It is quite dark behind them, but it seems that Lara's companion sees something. Suddenly, four wolves run out of the cave and attack him. Lara jumps down, shooting at the same time. When she manages to kill all wolves, she realizes that her friend is dead. She enters the cave, whilst the doors close behind her. Lara does not need her glasses anymore, so she takes them off.

[Checkpoint] Inside the cave - Continue into the passage until Lara steps on a big pressure plate that initiates a dart trap beyond. You can carefully pass them by stopping before them and running when they go off. If you cannot do it that way and you keep losing health, you can deactivate the trap. To do that, turn to face the way you came and notice two switches above: one on the right and one on the left hand side. To reach them, jump to grab the narrow ledge on the right (as shown in this screenshot), then jump for the next one, shimmy left and around the corner, jump to grab the upper ledge and lastly jump to grab the first switch. When you pull it, jump to grab the ledge behind you, shimmy left around the corner and press the Crouch button to release and grab the second switch. Both deactivate the darts, so drop to the ground and freely pass through the passage.

[Checkpoint] Area with broken wooden ledge - In the next area, go up the stairs on the right, cross the wooden ledge and jump to grab the opposite side. Pull up, go around to the left and jump to the next wooden ledge.

Artifact #1 - Before continuing to the left, turn around to face the way you came and notice the ledge above (as shown here). Jump to grab it and pull up. Go to the end and jump to the next one. Go around to the right and jump to grab the edge of a small passage. Pull up and proceed to the other side. Jump to the next ledge, but be careful not to accidentally slide to the ground. Use the ramp to slide a bit, but jump before reaching the end to grab the opposite ledge. Pull up and pick up the Artifact. Go to the other side of the ledge and jump to grab the narrow ledge ahead. Shimmy left around the corner and drop to the ground.

[Checkpoint] You enter a second cave which is a bit higher than the previous one. When you reach the fork, three bats will attack from beyond. Once you kill them, go to the left of the fork. Notice the alcove on the right. To reach it, climb on the nearby rock and jump to grab the edge of the cave. Pull up, vault onto the next ledge and pick up the Large Medipack. Return back to the fork and continue to the other side of the cave. Draw weapons and kill three more bats.

[Checkpoint] Area with big rock structure in the middle - The slide of course takes you down, but before going there, let's go for a Secret. If you accidentally slide down, you can return back here for the Secret. To do that, use the narrow ledges in the back right corner of the bottom area (back right as you enter - see this screenshot).

Artifact #2 - Jump at the top of the slide (or slide down a bit and jump) and whilst in midair, use the Grapple to catch the gold ring above. Stop swingning and hold down the Interact button. With this key compressed, press Up to climb the Grapple line. When you see the narrow ledge ahead, swing and jump to grab it. Shimmy left and jump to grab the ledge above. Jump to grab the ledge behind you, release for the lower ledge, shimmy right and when you reach the end, jump to grab the edge of the alcove behind. Pull up and pick up the Artifact from behind the rocks. (If you want to get oriented, see this screenshot that shows the Artifact's location.)

To get down, hang from the edge of the alcove, shimmy left if necessary and release to grab the lower ledge. Drop to the ground and draw weapons. Two bats will attack, so take care of them. Drop to the lower part of the area that leads to a switch. Use it to open the nearby door.

Area with two wooden bridges - Go through the door and down the steps. Follow the passage to reach an area with two wooden bridges. [Checkpoint] Go to the right and as you approach the stone block, you will hear growlings. There is a cave below, down into the pit, from where two wolves will attack, so stay sharp. If you cross the bridge, it will collapse. You need to do that anyway, but it seems like a trap if the wolves are still alive, since they attack as soon as you reach the ground. Once they are history, look for another cave at the other side (still down in the pit) that contains a Small Medipack.

As you exit the cave, you will spot the Artifact #3 in an alcove on the left, but it is quite high and you cannot reach it. So, do not waste your time now, because you will get it later. Use the broken part of the bridge as a ladder to climb up and reach the other side of the area. [Checkpoint] Go to the right and jump to grab the ledge on the wall. Then jump to grab the edge above; pull up. Before crossing the second bridge, turn around and notice the alcove with the Small Medipack. To reach it, you need to use the narrow ledges of the two pillars on the left. Once you get the Medipack, return back to the second bridge.

Pit with bear - Cross the second bridge and go to the left. Climb on the ledge above to reach an area with pillars, a pit and a rope. [Checkpoint] Before using the rope, use the narrow ledges on the right to land on a block in the back right corner of the pit. A bear will come from the alcove, so stay here and kill it. If it does not come out, you have to jump down and lure it.

Artifact #3 - When you kill it, enter the alcove it came from and use the switch to open the nearby door. It is on a slow timer, so you will not have problems passing through it. Drop to the lower ledge and pick up the Artifact. You should recognize the place below. It is where the two wolves attacked before. So, make your way back to the rope the same way as you did before.

Approach the left side of the pit and jump to grab the edge of the alcove with the Large Medipack. If you cannot do that and you keep falling down, you will have to use the rope. Note though that you need to gain enough momentum in order to reach and grab the edge of the alcove. When you get the Medipack, drop down, use the stone block in the corner to return back up, grab the rope and this time swing and jump to the opposite side. Go to the far left corner and pick another Large Medipack behind the pillar. Go down the ramp and follow the passage. The next steps take you to a pit with greenery. If you fall down, you can easily climb back up. Jump to grab the horizontal pole on the left, swing and jump to land on the opposite stairs. Negotiate the next two ledges and follow the passage.

Area with closed door, two slides and dart trap - [Checkpoint] Carefully pass the dart trap to reach the other side. This is the exit door which you have to open. If you step on the pressure plate, the camera will show the door's wooden bar moving and focus on the locks above. To open the door, you have to remove the two locks, something you will do right now.

Use the narrow ledges on the left to reach the topmost one. If you take a look on the left, you will see a passage, but do not go there yet. Instead, locate the mechanism on the right. To reach it, jump to grab the ledge opposite the way you came, jump to grab the upper one, traverse to the right and around the corner and when you reach the end, jump to grab the mechanism. Lara's weight will lower it, thus removing the first lock.

Now you can go through the passage, but have your weapons drawn, because a wolf will attack from the opening ahead. When you kill it, go through the opening and proceed to the end. Turn left to spot the three horizontal poles. Use them to reach the opposite side. Again, a wolf will attack from the next opening, but this time it is not alone. A second wolf will soon join you, so stay sharp.

At the end of the passage you will see the second mechanism which removes the second lock. To reach it, vault on the rock to the right and climb up the next two narrow ledges. Jump to grab the horizontal pole behind you and wait for it to turn 90 degrees. When it does so, swing on the pole and jump to grab the mechanism. Again, Lara's weight will lower it, thus removing the second lock. Drop to the ground and step on the pressure plate to open the door. [Checkpoint]

Relic - Before leaving, make your way back to the second mechanism (unfortunately, you have to take the long route). Vault on the rock as you did before and once again climb up the next two narrow ledges. The next part is tricky and you need to be quick. Jump to grab the horizontal pole behind you and immediately press Jump again (when the pole has turned about 45 degrees - see this screenshot) to release the pole and grab the narrow ledge on the opposite wall. Traverse to the left and when you reach the end, jump to grab the lower pole. (Note: you must step on the plate and open the door, because this action extends the poles. Otherwise, Lara will not be able to reach the lower one.) You now have to grab the opposite small narrow ledge (as shown here), so move a bit to the right and swing on the pole. Jump to grab the ledge, jump for the upper one and jump to grab the second pole behind you. Swing, jump to grab the narrow ledge on the other wall and finally climb on the ledge above. Pick up the Killer Whale Bottle .

Make your way back the same way you came. When you reach the lower pole, drop to the ground. Go through the doors to end the level.

Level 2: City of Vilcabamba

Kills: 17
Supplies: 8
Artifacts: 1
Relics: 0
Additional Secrets: 0

[Checkpoint] The level begins where the previous one left you. Go up the stairs and draw weapons. A bear will come through the opening, so take care of it. Follow the passage that leads to a pit with two vertical columns. Jump to grab the first one and climb to the bottom. Release to drop to the ground, turn around and go behind the rock where you will find a Small Medipack. Go to other side of the pit. You cannot grab the second column from the bottom, but you can step on its base and jump to grab the narrow ledge on the right. Jump for the upper one, then jump to grab the column. Climb up a bit if necessary and jump to the other side.

City of Vilcabamba/ Area with fountain and pool - Go through the open door to reach the City of Vilcabamba. [Checkpoint] Go through the passage around to the left and head down the two set of stairs. Draw weapons and start shooting at the two wolfes on the left before they reach you. Go there and down the next stairs. [Checkpoint] A bear will soon come from behind of one of the buildings, so stay sharp. There is a closed door on the right and you need a key to open it.

Inside the first building - Jump into the pool and swim to the bottom where you will find a Small Medipack. Surface to get some air and dive again, but not too much this time. Look for an opening and swim through it. Follow the tunnel that will get you to an underwater lever. Pull it to open a trapdoor above you. Surface there and climb out of the water. [Checkpoint] You are inside of one of the buildings, so if you want, use the switch to open the door and gain a direct access to the outsite area. Go up the wooden stairs to reach the window.

Inside the second building - Jump to the window of the opposite building and run on the decrepit wooden ramp. Jump at the end to grab the edge of the alcove. Pull up and pick up the Small Medipack. If you miss the jump, you can use the movable cage below and push it beneath the alcove. Drop to the ground and notice the metal circular lock of the wooden gate. Activate the Manual Aim and shoot the lock to open the gate. (If you have set the Combat Mode to Advanced Toggle or Advanced Hold, Lara will aim at the lock if you just draw your weapons.) This gives you a direct access to the outside area. Before returning outside, push the movable cage inside the next room. Go to the back of the room and pick up the Shotgun Ammo. Go to the left and pick up the Village Key from the alcove. [Checkpoint] Return back to the cage, climb on it and then climb on the ledge above. Go around to the left and pick up the Small Medipack and Shotgun Ammo. Then drop to the ground.

Artifact - Grab the cage and push it into the first room, then outsite of the building. Position the cage next to the vertical column which is located opposite the stairs you came from when you first enetered this area (as shown in this screenshot). Climb on the cage and jump on the column's base. Grab the column and climb to the top. Jump to the stone ledge and draw weapons to kill the two bats that attack. Jump to grab the horizontal pole, swing and jump to grab the stone ledge ahead; pull up. [Checkpoint] Use the Grapple to catch the gold ring above, swing and jump to grab the narrow ledge on the other side. Traverse to the left and jump to grab the pole. Jump for the next one and finally jump to grab the top of the waterfall. Two bats attack here, so get rid of them. Pick up the Artifact and jump on the roof of the nearby building to slide down and reach the ground intact.

Go and use the Key to open the door. Draw weapons, because you are not alone. Two wolves will come out together, so back up and kill them. When you enter the next area, a third wolf attacks from the right. Kill it and go up the stairs. [Checkpoint] You need to open the door and to do that, you have to follow both doorways and it does not matter which one you visit first.

Left hand doorway - Go through the left doorway and up the stairs to reach a room with a pool. Follow the walkway to the left and jump to grab the ledge ahead. Jump to grab the narrow ledge on the wall, traverse to the right and jump to grab the next one. Shimmy right and jump to grab the ledge behind you. The last jump is longer, so you need to help Lara by pressing the Interact button when she grabs onto the ledge.* Pull up and go through the opening on the left. Go up the ramps and kill the three bats when you reach the top. Jump to grab the opposite ledge and pull up. Exit to the ledge on the other side and jump to grab the horizontal thick pole of the pillar. Lara's weight will rotate the pillar which will place a kind of key on the door. Release and safely drop to the ground.

[*Important note for the PC players: Many people have encountered problems with the specific jump (as shown in this screenshot). Lara will not grab the ledge no matter what. A possible remedy to this problem is to disable the Fullscreen Effects from the Options, Display menu (and make Lara "see" the ledge) or lower your game's resolution. Thanks to Cookie Raider for mentioning the problem and Wen for suggesting the possible fix.]

Right hand doorway - Go through the right hand doorway to reach again a room with a pool. [Checkpoint] Jump into and get the Small Medipack from the bottom. Surface and climb out of the water. Follow the walkway and jump to grab the narrow ledge on the wall. Use the rest ledges to reach the ledge in front of the opening. Go through it and up the ramps. At the top, kill two more bats. Jump to grab the opposite ledge and pull up. Exit from the other side and jump to grab the horizontal thick pole of the pillar. Lara's weight will rotate the pillar which will place another kind of key on the door. [Checkpoint] Both keys open the door, so drop to the ground and go through it.

First pit - Follow the passage that will get you to a pit. [Checkpoint] Use the narrow ledges on the left to get down. Kill the wolf and pick up the Shotgun Ammo. The ledge you came from is high, so push/ pull the movable cage and position it beneath the ledge to climb back up. This time, jump to the ledge at the top of the slope. Slide down the slope and jump to grab the horizonatal pole. Move a bit to the right if necessary, swing and jump to grab the ledge ahead. Pull up and jump towards the vertical thin structure. Lara will balance, but you have to be careful. If she loses her balance, press the Interact button to correct. Jump to the ledge ahead and continue to the left.

Second pit - You meet a second pit. Jump to the stone block on the other side and drop to the ground (or grab the narrow ledge, drop to the block, then to the ground). Go to the other side of the pit and climb on the a stone block you will find there. Grab the crevice in the wall, shimmy right and jump to grab the horizonatl pole behind you. Swing, jump to grab the crevice in the opposite wall and jump to grab the narrow ledge above. Traverse to the left and around the corner and pull up, being careful of the dart trap. Turn around, jump on the vertical thin structure and jump to the ledge ahead before you lose your balance.

Follow the passage to end the level.

Level 3: The Lost Valley

Kills: 17
Supplies: 21 (plus the Shotgun)
Artifacts: 2
Relics: 1
Additional Secrets: 1

[Checkpoint] Area with waterfall - The level begins where the previous one left you. Exit through the opening ahead to reach an area with a huge waterfall. [Checkpoint] Go to the right to alert two wolves. You can kill them from above or by stepping on the broken stairs. Once you are done, drop down and go to the far left where you will find the Cog #1 (the first of the three you need).

If you scoot the area around, you will see a ladder to the right of the waterfall (as you face it) that gets you to a ledge. This is where you can place the Cog you just found, but do not go there yet until you find the second one.

[Note: You can go and place the first Cog, then go for the one called Cog #3 in the walkthrough (area with T-Rex) and search for the last one as you return back. This is faster for the Time Trial procedure.]

Secret - For now, jump into the water and swim through the underwater tunnel. When you surface, climb out of the water and pick up the Small Medipack. Return back outside the same way you came.

Going to the top of the waterfall - You need to reach the top of the waterfall, so climb up the rocks close to where you found the Cog. Jump to grab the narrow ledge on the wall, jump to grab the upper one, shimmy left and around the corner, and pull up. Climb on the next ledge and pick up the Shotgun Ammo. Grab the right hand ledge, jump to grab the one on the right, traverse around the rocky pillar and jump to grab the ledge above. Pull up and climb on the next ledge.

[Note (and SPOILERS): If you accidentally fall into the water, the current will drag you to the pool, so you need to take the long route back. There is a ledge though that will come in use later in the level (once you stop the current). However, you can use it when the current is still active and climb out of the water before falling into the pool. This screenshot shows the location of the ledge and this video gives an example. To make sure Lara will climb out, try to swim on the surface.)

At the top of the waterfall - Go to the right and through the small cave that goes parallel to the water. [Checkpoint] When you exit, jump across the river to grab the ledge at the other side and pull up. Use the two narrow ledges on the right to reach the wooden small ledge. Turn to face the hanging small bridge and draw weapons. Aim for the part that holds the rope (as shown in this screenshot) and shoot it. The bridge will collapse and reveal a horizontal pole. Jump to grab the narrow ledge on the wall, shimmy left and around the corner, jump to grab the pole, swing and jump into the passage. Follow it around to the right.

Area with wooden bridge - Jump off the ledge and use the Grapple in midair to catch the gold ring above. Swing and jump to the platform ahead. Use the narrow ledges on the right hand pillar and when you reach the topmost, jump to grab the ledge on the right. (From the topmost ledge, you will be able to see an opening above to the left, as shown here, but you cannot reach it now.) Pull up and follow the short passage that gets you to a wooden bridge. Cross it and pick up the Cog #2. [Checkpoint] Two bats will soon attack, so kill them. Keep your weapons drawn and shoot the gold ring that holds the ropes of the bridge. The latter will shatter, creating a ladder at the other side and making the gold ring accessible for the Grapple. Do not do anything with these right now (you will see why in a while).

Go to the end of the ledge and jump to grab the rotating horizontal pole. Swing and jump to grab the small ledge on the wooden structure. Use the rest two and when you reach the last one, jump to grab the edge of the opening you saw before. Follow the passage and use the switch to open a gate elsewhere. This gate will give you the access to the level's Relic, so make sure you use it. Do not drop down from here. Instead, go back and hang from the edge of the opening. Shimmy to the very right and release to grab the topmost ledge of the pillar. If you do not shimmy to the very right, Lara will drop down by realeasing, losing some health. In that case, climb up the ledges of the pillar. Once again, jump to grab the ledge opposite the pillar, pull up and go through the passage.

Hang from the edge (where the wooden bridge used to be) and climb down until you see an opening on your right. Jump to grab its edge and pull up. Follow the tunnel and pick up the Shotgun and Large Medipack. Return back to the opening* and drop into the water. The current will drag you and throw you in the pool at the bottom of the waterfall.

(*Note: It seems that Lara cannot grab the edge of the opening on your way back and she falls in the water no matter what. If you had come here before using the switch for the Relic, you would have ended at the bottom of the waterfall and had to take the really long route for the switch, unless you had followed the instructions of the Note (and SPOILERS) above.

Also, you can complete the above part using an alternative way. First use the switch that opens the gate to the Relic and then retrieve the Cog. You can find details in this page.)

Using the first two cogs - Climb out of the water and draw weapons. Three wolves will attack from the cave beyond, so quickly run and climb on the rocks where you found the first Cog. Kill them from there and drop back down. Climb up the wooden ladder, place one of the Cogs you have and use the switch. The mechanism will place the Cog to its correct position. This will make the big wooden cogs work, giving you the access to the place where you need to use the other Cog. [Checkpoint]

The working wooden Cogs have three poles on them that you can use and reach the second ladder. When you do that, climb to the top, place the second Cog and use the switch. Again, the mechanism will place the Cog to its correct position and make the next big wooden cogs work which give you the access to the place where you need to use the third Cog that you do not have at the moment. [Checkpoint]

Going for the third Cog/ Reaching the opening at the exact opposite side - Grab the crevice next to the switch and jump to grab the next crevice on the right. Shimmy to the right and around the corner, jump to grab the narrow ledge above and finally jump to grab the wooden platform behind you; pull up. The rotating wooden platform gets you to the area where you have to place the third Cog, so do not go there yet. Turn around and jump to grab the narrow ledge diagonally to the right. Traverse to the right and around the corner, but before going for the upper ledge (that leads to the rope), notice the opening below (as shown here). Release to grab its edge and pull into. You slide to a small room, so climb on the wooden ledge and pick up the Large Medipack. The slope on the left will get you back to the bottom of the area. You have to reach the narrow ledge before realeasing for the opening (where the above screenshot shows), following the same way as before.

Once there, jump to grab the ledge above and jump to grab the rope. Turn left and swing on the rope. You need enough momentum in order to reach the narrow ledge on the opposite wall. When you grab it, traverse to the right and around the corner, jump to grab the sill above the opening and drop down. Lara's weight will make the ladder fall down, revealing a horizontal pole that you will use later. For now, go through the opening and climb on the rock. [Checkpoint] Follow the passage as it goes and crawl under the rock to reach a room with a rock structure on the left.

Draw weapons, because a bear will come around the rock structure. You can climb on the rocks for a breather, but the bear usually plays "hide-and-seek" when you climb there and goes behind the structure. Once it is dead, climb on the rocks and make your way to the top of the structure where you will fins some Caliber Pistol Ammo.

Artifact #1 - You have probably noticed the alcove with the Artifact. Its retrieval is quite tricky and here is how you can do it: Drop to the ledge where the two vertical poles are. You have to jump on the wooden slope below and jump to grab the narrow ledge on the structure. For the latter, you have to land on the correct spot of the wooden slope (as the yellow X of this screenshot shows), otherwise Lara will drop to the ground. Once there, traverse left and around the corner and jump to grab the edge of the alcove. Pull up and pick up the Artifact (you will get the Small Medipack behind the bars later).

Drop back down and make your way back to the ledge with the two poles. Grab the first pole and turn the camera to face the entrance of this area, so you can spot the two narrow ledges on the wall. Jump to grab the first ledge, then the second one. Jump on the first pole, then to the second one and finally to the wooden ledge ahead. Slide down to the next area (ignore the vertical poles on the right, since they lead back) and follow the passage. [Checkpoint] Go up the steps and pick up the Shotgun Ammo. Approach the edge of the deep pit. This is a long drop down, so be careful.

Passing the two deep pits - Jump on the wooden slope ahead, slide down a bit and jump to grab the opposite ledge. Shimmy right and jump to grab the wooden platform. Pull up and pick up the Shotgun Ammo. Jump to grab the horizontal pole, swing and jump to grab the ledge ahead. Use the next upper ledge to reach the safe ground. [Checkpoint]

Go to the right and jump to grab the narrow ledge on the wall. Traverse to the left and around the corner, jump to grab the ledge behind you and make your way to the ledge on the right. Draw weapons and kill the two bats that attack. Then pick up the Large Medipack. Hang from the edge of the pit and use the handholds to reach the alcove below (as shown in this screenshot). Pick up the Large Medipack and use the ledges opposite the alcove to return back up.

Follow the ledge to its natural conclusion and climb into the crawlspace that gets you to a misty passage that ends to a wooden platform. [Checkpoint] When you step on it, it falls apart and you slide into the next area. Proceed a bit to reach the Lost Valley. [Checkpoint]

The Lost Valley - As soon as you reach the outside area, look for some Caliber Pistol Ammo on the right. Also, take a mental note of the stone block on the left, as it will become useful in just a bit. When you proceed a bit further into the Valley, three raptors will come from the left. Quickly run and jump on the stone block next to entrance. Kill the threats from there and drop back down. Soon enough, three more raptors will join you. Again, jump on the stone block and kill them. [Checkpoint]

The cut scene shows more raptors coming from around the corner, but this time they are not alone. Mama T-Rex makes her appearance and the raptors along with Lara try to escape.

Be prepared for the Interactive cut scene. Press the correct buttons (as they appear on your screen) to save Lara from the threats.

[Checkpoint] Dealing with T-Rex - When the cut scene is over, Lara is found in the next area and the T-Rex is after her. You have to kill it, but it is strong enough so it will take some time. Unfortunately, there is not any safe ledge around the area, so prepare your skills to fight. At the top right of your screen, you can see two bars. The yellow one is the creature's health, which means that it dies when the bar drops to zero. The red bar indicates the enemy's rage. When you shoot repeatedly, the bar starts filling, causing the T-Rex to become enraged. In that case, it attacks and you can use the Adrenaline Dodge.

Do not let its size scare you! The area is large which means you have enough space to move around. There are three spiked rims in the area, which you have to use if you want to get rid of the creature quickly. Stand in front of each rim and shoot the T-Rex until it becomes enraged. When it attacks, use the Adrenaline Dodge. If you do it correctly, the creature will fall on the rim and lose 1/3 of its health.

The Adrenaline Dodge (followed by the Head Shot) - Are you sure you do it correctly? When you shoot repeatedly, the red bar starts filling. When it flashes, the creature is enraged, so stop shooting. When the screens becomes blurred, the creature will attack. Immediately press the left or right direction key along with the Crouch button (or the down direction key, but if you stand in front of the rim, you cannot go anywhere from behind). Do not just tap the Chrouch button. Press and hold it. As Lara jumps sideways, two gray targets will appear on your screen; one from the left and one from the right. When they join, you will see a red target on the creature's head. You have to shoot in order to apply the Head Shot.

Alternative way (by badboy70) - If you cannot do the above way, you can use a "safe" area and use the T-Rex from there. Once you gain control of Lara, turn left and head to the pair of spiked rims (those that are next to each other). Approach the right hand rim and go to its left side (as shown in this screenshot). You will notice that an invisible bar (or something like that) prevents you from continuing further, but if you keep running towards it and jump, you will get behind. The invisible bar blocks the T-Rex from reaching you, but you have to stay there and not move; otherwise, the creature will be able to reach you. You may notice that Lara does not aim at it immediately. In this case, you have to shoot a few times and then use the Manual Aim (as shown in this screenshot). There is one catch in this method though: the T-Rex must be in front of the rim and not to the side. If the latter happens, the creature will be able to reach you.

When its health bar drops to zero, be prepared for an Interactive cut scene. Press the correct buttons to save Lara from T-Rex's teeth. If everything goes well, the creature will drop dead, destroying a part of the nearby Temple. [Checkpoint]

Once the T-Rex is dead/ Heading back - If you did not do it during the battle, pick up the Small Medipack and two sets of Caliber Pistol Ammo (one of them is hidden in the plants to the left of the pair of round wooden spiked rims). Go to the right hand side of the Temple, vault onto the low rock and jump on the ledge. Enter the Temple [Checkpoint] and jump on the ledge ahead to get the Cog #3. Jump into the water and swim through the tunnel. Surface at the end and climb out of the water. Grab the vertical pole, climb up a bit and jump to the ledge. Use the two narrow ledges on the left hand wall and jump to grab the small crevice, then jump on the vertical pole. Before losing your balance, jump to grab the narrow ledge on the pillar, then the next one. Simmy to the left and jump to the opening. [Checkpoint]

Vault on the gray ledge to the right and go to the front side where you will find a Small Medipack. Return back and climb on the rocks next to the opening, then on the topmost gray ledge that gets you to the other side. Drop down and go to the other side of the ledge. You have to move around the perimeter of the area until you reach a vertical pole. Grab it, climb up a bit and jump to the passage. Follow it to the end and jump to grab the narrow ledge. Traverse around the pillar, jumping and grabbing the ledges as you go. Finally, jump to land on the wooden bridge behind you. Go around to the right, but do not slide down the ramp yet.

The area below is the one when you first entered the Valley. If you did not explore it before, you can go down and pick up a Large and three Small Medipacks (one of them is hidden among the plants, where the waterfall is - to the left of the entrance as you face it). If you have already got them, you can jump to the wooden platform below (that is do not slide down the ramp), climb on the vertical pole, jump on the wall and drop into the building where you will find a Small Medipack. Then follow the passage and climb up the ledges to reach the broken wooden bridge. If you went down into the Valley, climb on the stone block and jump on the wooden platform. Jump to grab the ledge and go through the opening to enter the building. The left way leads to a Small Medipack, so once you get it, return back and climb up the ledges to reach the wooden broken bridge.

Wooden broken bridge - Jump to grab the opposite side and pull up (or land directly on it). The area beyond includes a Large Medipack, so once you get it, return back and use the narrow ledges on the right hand wall (right, as you return back). These ledges will get you to the top of the wall and next to a rocky slope.

Artifact #2 - Before using the slope, jump over it to land on the opposite flat ledge. Drop to the low wall on the right, then to the area behind the wall (see this screenshot to get oriented). Pick up the Artifact, climb on the wall and drop down to the other side (where you got the Medipack before). Once again, use the narrow ledges to reach the top of the wall, next to the rocky slope.

This time, jump on the slope and slide down. Jump before reaching the end to land on a second slope and again jump to grab the horizontal pole. Swing, jump to grab the next pole and finally jump to grab the wooden platform. Pull up, jump to the next platform and go through the opening. [Checkpoint] The misty passage will get you back to the deep pit you passed before, so be careful when you reach it.

Back to the pits - From the edge, slide down the slope and jump to grab the narrow ledge ahead. Jump to grab the ledge behind and release to grab the lower ledge. Traverse to the right and around the corner and jump to the platform behind you. [Checkpoint] Make your way back the same way you came, using the wooden slopes and the various narrow ledges on the walls. When you reach the other side of the pit, go down the steps. [Checkpoint]

Grab the vertical pole and jump on the short wooden slope. Immediately jump on the pole, then into the opening ahead. Or, grab the vertical pole, climb to the top and jump to land on the second pole. Before sliding down the ramp, drop into the room on the left where you will find a Small Medipack. Climb back up, slide down the ramp and carefully make your way to the ground. Follow the opening to return back to the ledge that overlooks the area at the beginning of the level.

Back at the start - Turn left, jump to grab the horizontal pole, swing and jump to the opposite side (at the top of the waterfall). From here, jump into the pool below. Surface and climb out of the water. You have to go back to the wooden ledge next to the rotating wooden platform (passing from the points where you placed the first two Cogs). When you reach this ledge, you have to jump on the rotating platform when it reaches the horizontal position, then quickly jump to the ledge ahead. Place the third Cog and use the switch. The mechanism places the cog to its correct position which activates a huge stone breaker that stops the falling water. This reveals an opening which was hidden behind the waterfall. [Checkpoint] From here jump into the pool.

Relic - Before going through the opening, climb out of the water and make your way to the top of the waterfall. Crouch beneath the big wooden bar and drop into the water. There is no current anymore, so dive down and swim through the tunnel. Surface and climb out of the water. Pick up the Kero Mug and and make your way back to the pool the same way you came.

[If the gate to the Relic is closed - If the gate that leads to the Relic is closed, it means you missed a switch that opens it. The switch is close to this area and you can refer at the beginning of the walkthrough (At the top of the waterfall) to see how you can reach it. This screenshot shows the location. If you want to avoid going the long route, once you catch the gold ring with your Grapple, you can turn right, swing and grab the ledge beneath the switch. See this page for details.]

Climb out of the water where the waterfall used to be and go through the opening to end the level.

Level 4: Tomb of Qualopec

Kills: 6
Supplies: 6 (plus the Shotgun if you did not find it in Lost Valley)
Artifacts: 2
Relics: 0
Additional Secrets: 0

[Checkpoint] The level begins where the previous one left you. Follow the tunnel to a room with a pit. Jump to land on the vertical structure, then jump to grab the horizontal pole. Jump to the next two vertical structures, then to the ledge in the corner. If you accidentally fall down, you can climb back up, using the ledges at the back, and start again. Jump to grab the ledge on the left and pull up. Follow the passage to the next room. [Checkpoint]

Room with stone bridge - You reach a room with a stone bridge. The only accessible opening at the moment is the one ahead. When you step on the first part of the ramp, the ball starts rolling. Run back and turn to either side. The ball will destroy a part of the bridge, revealing a pillar, and make three gates close in the passage it rolled from. The deal is to open the three gates and gain access to the next part of the level.

Return back to the entrance and climb down the ledges on the right to reach the bottom of the pit. Pick up the Caliber Pistol Ammo from the right and push the movable box beneath the ledges you came from, so you can return back. Go to the other side of the pit and push/pull the tall pillar close to the left hand opening (if the entrance is to your back - see this screenshot to get oriented). Climb back up, cross the bridge and go to the left. Jump on the wooden platform of the pillar and then to the next ledge. Jump to grab the crevice in the wall, then the next one. From there, jump to grab the crevice of the pillar on the right, then the top; pull up.

Jump to grab the vertical pole, then jump to the ledge above the opening with the three closed gates. Draw weapons and shoot the gold ring that holds the structure above the bridge. It will fall down, destroying another part of the bridge. Use the Grapple to catch the two gold rings above and swing to the opening above the entrance. Use the switch to open the first (outer) gate. [Checkpoint] Use the Grapple again to catch the rings and return back. Make your way to the left hand opening.

Left hand opening - Follow the passage to a pit and pick up the Shotgun Ammo. [Checkpoint] Carefully pass the dart trap and jump to grab the horizontal pole. Swing and jump to grab the crevice ahead. Jump to grab the next three crevices on the left, passing two dart traps. When you reach the third crevice, jump to grab the ladder behind you. When you are ready to pass the dart trap, jump to grab the crevice on the right, then the next one. Jump to land on the vertical structure and, before losing your balance, jump to the safe ledge ahead. Pick up the Small Medipack and follow the passage around to the left. Pick up another Small Medipack and enter the next room. [Checkpoint] Pass the two sets of dart traps and go up the steps. The next passage gets you to a second set of dart traps that you have to pass.

Room with broken stairs - Use the Grapple to catch the gold ring above and swing to the broken stairs ahead. You cannot reach the switch from here, so jump to grab the vertical structure on the left, then the horizontal pole. Swing and jump to grab the crevice ahead. Jump to grab the ledge above and pull up. Go around to the left and pick up the Caliber Pistol Ammo. Jump to grab the stone ledge above the switch, then release to grab the switch and open the third (inner) gate. [Checkpoint]

Return back to the passage, but be careful because there are more dart traps. When you pass them, follow the passage to the previous room. This time, there two moving blades between the darts, so carefully pass them. Draw weapons, because you are not alone. A raptor will attack when you enter the next passage, so kill it. Return back to the pit and pass it once more to get back to the room with the stone bridge.

Back to the room with the stone bridge - Use the crevices you came from to return to the bridge and, again, make your way down to the pit. Push/pull the two pillars so you can reach the right hand opening (see this screenshot to get oriented). Climb back up, cross the bridge and jump from pillar to pillar until you reach the right hand opening.

Right hand opening - Follow the passage to a pit. [Checkpoint]

Artifact #1 - Hang from the edge of the pit (as shown here) and release to grab the crevice below. Drop to the ground and go to the other side of the pit. Pick up the Artifact and return back. Grab the vertical structure, climb to the top and jump to the ledge you came from.

Jump to land on the vertical structure, avoiding the darts. Jump to grab the crevice in the left hand wall and, avoiding the next darts, jump to grab the crevice on the right. Release to grab the lower crevice and traverse to the right. Jump to the vertical structure behind you, then to the safe ledge ahead. Follow the passage to the next room. [Checkpoint]

Room with floor that collapses - Pick up the Shotgun Shells from the left. When you approach the switch at the other side, the floor collapses, revealing a room below. You will slide into this room, but do it with your weapons drawn, because two wolves attack down there. Once you kill them, go up either ramp and pull the movable cage out of the alcove. Throw it to the ground and position it next to the right hand pillar (assuming you are facing the slope you slid before - see this screenshot).

Climb on the cage and jump to grab the small crevice of the pillar, then the next one. Jump to grab the vertical pole behind you and then the next one. Alternatively, once you pull the cage out of the alcove, position it to the edge of the platform. Climb on the cage and jump to directly grab the second vertical pole (as shown here - thanks to dinahcat for the tip). Jump to grab the crevice of the other pillar and traverse around the corner. Jump to grab the horizontal pole behind you, swing and jump to grab the stone ledge in the corner; pull up. [Checkpoint] Jump to grab the next two crevices and traverse to the right. Jump to grab the vertical pole behind you and climb to the top.

Artifact #2 - Before jumping to the switch, notice the opening on the left (as shown in this screenshot). Jump to grab the edge, pull up and pick up the Artifact from the left. Then jump back to grab the vertical pole you came from.

Jump to grab the ledge above the switch, then release to grab the switch that opens the middle gate. While hanging from the switch, jump to grab the horizontal pole on the right. Swing and jump to grab the crevice in the wall. Climb up the crevices to reach the opening above. Go around to the right and drop down. As you return back through the passage, a raptor will attack from around the corner, so stay sharp. Once you kill it, follow the way back to the pit. There is another raptor down there, but you do not have to deal with it if you are not interested in all kills (unless you missed the first Artifact and want to go down). Pass the pit as you did before and return back to the room with the broken stone bridge.

Back to the room with the stone bridge - Jump on the two movable pillars to reach the ramp with the now open gates. Go up the ramp and follow either way to reach a second ramp. Go up it to reach the next room. [Checkpoint]

In the cut scene, Lara approaches the pedestal with the piece of Scion, but she passes it by. She goes up the steps and approaches the statue with the two mummies alongside. Lara starts reading the inscription "Here sits the God-King Qualopec; One of the Triumvirate; Keepers of the Three pieces of the Scion; Diviners of its knowledge; Sacred rulers of Atlantis". She then approaches the statue even more and the right hand mummy awakes and falls down. Lara hops back and draws weapons. When everything seems quiet, she steps back and takes the piece from the pedestal. This causes an earthquake and rocks start falling from above. Before they block the entrance to the room, Lara manages to take a last glimpse of the statue that has come to life.

[Checkpoint] Do not worry about the statue at the moment; it will not come after you. With the Scion of Qualopec in your backpack, go down the ramp and return to the room with the stone bridge. Jump over the gaps to get back to the entrance. Go down the ramp to reach the first pit. There is a raptor down there, but deal with it if you want all the kills. Pass the pit as you did when you started the level or drop down and climb out from the other side. [Checkpoint] Follow the tunnel back to the Lost Valley.

In the cut scene, Lara jumps into the pool. When she surfaces, Larson is waiting for her. However, she is not surprised to him here.

Be prepared for the Interactive cut scene. Press the correct buttons to save Lara from Larson's attack.

In the next cut scene, Lara has disarmed Larson. She shows him the artifact and, since this is only one piece of the Scion, she asks where the rest of it is. Larson is not willing to tell, so Lara points her guns to his head. This does not make any differnce for him, since Pierre has probably already found his piece. Lara asks for the location, but Larson does not know. She seems to believe him, so she decides to leave. It is then when Larson grabs his Shotgun, but Lara has guessed his move, kicks him and he falls unconscious to the ground.

(Note: If you did not find the Shotgun in Lost Valley, you will get it from Larson.)

The cut scene shows Lara at the top of an elevator. She uses her gun and cuts through a cable that holds the elevator (she probably did not find any unsecured door). When the cable is cut, the weight on the other side starts falling down and Lara hoists up. She releases the cable and she lands on the roof of Natla's Technologies building. She spots a glassed hatch and uses it to enter Natla's office. Opposite the desk is a big TV screen. Lara uses the remote control to turn the TV on. From the various options, she selects Larson's name. In the recorded movie, Larson talks with Natla, and it is obvious he was following Lara all along. She then selects Pierre's name. The recorded movie shows Pierre talking with Natla. He tells her that he has located his piece of Scion while he shows the location at the same time. Lara recognizes the place; it is St. Francis Folly.

Level 5: St. Francis Folly

Kills: 11
Supplies: 16
Artifacts: 6
Relics: 0
Additional Secrets: 0

The cut scene shows St. Francis Folly building, while we hear the voice of Lara's father "I've acquired new evidence that leads me to believe it is the Scion itself that is in some strange way, a vast library of information to rival even Alexandria. I am now convinced that, if I can obtain it, I will finally discover what happened to my bevoled Amelia." Lara is climbing up the rocks to the monastery at the same time. She picks up a can and realizes that someone else was here before her. "Oh, Pierre, litter bug."

[Checkpoint] Room with tall pillars - As soon as the level begins, draw weapons and proceed ahead. Two lions will appear behind the pillars, so kill them both.

In the cut scene, Lara hears a voice from a man that is talking to her. Lara recognizes his voice and advises Pierre to move on, because Natla does not honor her contracts. He tells her that they (Pierre and Natla) understand each other; he finds things for her and she rewards him handsomely. It is obvious that Lara has not spotted Pierre yet, that's why she points her guns around. Pierre thinks that since Lara seeks for the same things and believes her insticts, she is not trusted and is in second place. He, on the other hand, is a professional, since he focus on the job and gets paid. Lara tells him that there is more to life than money, but Pierre says that there is a difference between life and business. However, Lara has managed to get a piece of the Scion. Pierre offers a challenge: who is going to get the next piece?

[Checkpoint] Proceed ahead and step on the big circular plate. The camera will pan back and show a gate to open above. When you step off, the gate closes, so you need to find something and position it on the plate so the gate will remain open. Go to the other side and climb up the far right pillar, using its crevices. Turn around and jump to grab the crevice of the next pillar (the far left one, if the entrance to your back). Again, use its crevices to climb to the top. Jump to land on the next pillar (or grab it if necessary and pull up) and jump to the balcony on the right. If you enter the small room, you will see the Artifact behind the gate, but you will get it later. From the balcony, jump to the next ledge. Jump off the ledge and use the Grapple to grab the ring on the wall. Perform the wall run and jump to the passage on the other side.

Mural puzzle - You will reach an area with a mural which has some glowing diamonds on its body. [Checkpoint] Step on the pressure plate to turn them off. Go around the passage to reach a closed door with a mural. You will see that it has one diamond on its left eye (left as you face it) and another one on its sword. Go back to the first mural and shoot the correspondings diamonds. The camera will show the door opening, so go back there. Jump off the edge, use the Grapple to catch the ring on the wall and perform the wall run to reach the opposite ledge. Jump to grab the balcony and enter the small room. The mosaic shows that there are four diamonds you need to use: one on each sole, one on the hand and another one on the back. Return to the mural, step on the plate to turn the diamonds off and shoot the correspondings ones. The camera will show the gate behind you opening. [Checkpoint]

Go through it to reach a gold globe. Use the Grapple to catch both locks and pull them out. When you do that, the gold globe will fall down. [Checkpoint] Push it off the edge to throw it to the ground. From the balcony, jump to the left hand pillar and use its crevices to go down. Push the globe and position it on the circular plate. This will open the door. [Checkpoint] Again, climb up the far right pillar, jump to grab the crevice of the left one, climb to the top and this time jump to the balcony in front of the now open door.

Go through it and go to the left. Jump off the ledge and use the Grapple to catch the gold ring on the wall. Climb down the Grapple line and perform the wall run to reach the alcove on the left. Pick up the Large Medipack and drop to the ground. If you accidentally fall down before getting the Medipack, you can also catch the gold ring from the ledge to the left of the closed gate. The circular plate opens the gate, but again you need something to place on it. Use the switch to open the door that gets you back to the room with the tall pillars. [Checkpoint]

As soon as you exit, two lions will attack from behind the pillars. Immediately, enter the room and go up the steps where they cannot reach you. Shoot from there and if they exit the room, go down to lure them and return back. Once they are dead, exit the room and push/ pull the gold globe into the room. The gate above will close, but you do not need it anymore. Position the globe on the plate to open the gate. [Checkpoint]

Artifact #1 - Before leaving, take a look at the mural above the open door (the one that leads outside). It has seven diamonds on its body: one on each sole, one on the knee, one the back, one on the hand, one on the left eye (as you face it) and one on the sword. You need to go back to the mural, shoot the correspondings diamonds and open the gate that leads to the Artifact. Once you get it, return back here.

Tall room with central structure - Go through the gate and down the stairs to reach a tall room with a central structure. [Checkpoint] The deal here is to find four switches and open four doors. Each door hides one key, and all four keys will open the exit door, which is located at the bottom of this tall room.

As a start, you can see two switches: one on the left and one on the right. For now, jump to grab the top of the central structure and pull up. Go to the left to reach the end. There is an extended ledge with a ring at the front on the opposite wall. If you take a look on the right, you will see another gold ring that is attached to another ledge that you have to pull out by using the Grapple; pull it (see this screenshot to get oriented).

POSEIDON switch - Jump to the left hand ledge (or grab it if necessary and pull up) and then jump into the alcove on the left. From there, jump to grab the horizontal pole, swing and jump to land at the bottom of the stairs (the above sequence is shown in this screenshot). Go up them and use the switch to open the POSEIDON door and release two bats. The switch also extended a platform at the front, which can help you return back to the central structure. Do that and kill the bats. (The ledge you pulled out before leads to the ATLAS door, but since it is closed, do not go there yet.)

Drop to the lower ledge of the structure and, assuming you are facing the entrance, shoot the button in the alcove exactly below. This will extend a ledge at front of it which leads to the HEPHAESTUS door. Since it is closed, do not go there yet. Turn left (assuming you are still facing the entrance) and use the Grapple to catch the ring on the column (as shown here). Pull it to throw it down and make its other part land on the lower ledge of the structure.

Hang from the edge of the structure and drop to the lower ledge. If you take a look around, you will see the top part of a ladder and the column you pulled down before (and you are on the same level as the closed ATLAS door). Exactly below the ledge you extended by shooting the button is another ring that you have to pull in order to make another column fall down and land on the lower part of the structure (as shown in this screenshot).

HEPHAESTUS switch - For now, climb on the first fallen column and cross it to the end. Jump on the left hand ledge and pick up the Small Medipack. Jump to grab the opposite block, then the next one. Grab the crevice in the wall and shimmy around the corner. Jump to grab the ledge above, then the one at the bottom of the stairs. Pull up, go up the stairs and use the switch to open the HEPHAESTUS door. [Checkpoint] Again, the switch will extend a platform at the front, so you can return back to the central structure. If you wait for a bit, two bats will show up. Kill them and return to the top of the central structure.

(Note: If you die at this point and the game loads the last Checkpoint, the last pair of bats may not appear, changing your final statistics.)

Through HEPHAESTUS door - From the top of the structure, drop to the lower ledge and jump on the broken platform on the same level. From there, jump to the ledge you extended by shooting the button. Jump to grab the crevice in the wall on the right, then the edge of the alcove. Pull up and jump to grab the horizontal pole. Swing and jump to grab the ledge ahead. Release to grab the edge of the alcove and pull up (the above series of jumps are shown in this screenshot). Crawl into and head to the other side. Be careful here!!! If you have enabled the Automatic grab, do not just fall off the edge and wait for Lara to grab it. Sometimes, she falls to her death. Press the Crouch button to make her grab the edge. Traverse to the right and pull up.

[Alternative (quicker) method for reaching the HEPHAESTUS door - From the top of the central structure, jump to the platform in front of the POSEIDON switch. Climb on ledge ahead and go down the stairs on the left. Hang from the edge and release to grab the edge of the alcove below. You will have to press the Interact button and make Lara grab the edge with both hands. Shimmy to the right and pull up. The above sequence is shown in this screenshot. Thanks to RJ for the tip.]

Go through the door. [Checkpoint] The passage gets you to a switch that opens the gate, the latter of which falls down after a few secnds. If you are standing in front of it, it will kill Lara. Use the narrow ledges in the back left corner to reach the opening above the gate. Drop down at the other side and follow the next passage that gets you to a room with an electrified ball that throws harmful lighting on the floor. [Checkpoint] You have to step and thus press the four buttons on the floor; one in each corner (as shown in this screenshot). You have to wait for the buttons to come up, so you can step on them and make them go down. There are more squares that go up and down and the lighting hits only those that are up. So, use the lower "safe" squares to move around. Once you make it, the gates at the other side open, so enter the next room. [Checkpoint]

The key is behind a gate that you need to open. For now, locate the movable statue at the far right. Push/ pull it in one of the holes in the floor and make sure it faces the center of the room. There are two more holes, so you need to find two more statues. You have definitely noticed the big hammer on the left. If you step on the pressure plate below, the hammer will fall down, so do not stay there or you will kill Lara. There is a movable box nearby that you can push on the plate. The hammer will smash the box, revealing a statue. Push/ pull it in one of the holes and make sure it faces the center of the room.

Step on the plate and immediately step off. When the hammer falls down, grab its handhold and jump to grab the top. Pull up and jump to the taller platform with the Large Medipack. Pick it up and drop down. Do the same to reach the lower platform with the Shotgun Ammo. Pick it up and jump to grab the horizontal pole. Swing and jump to the ledge above the gate.

Artifact #2 - Enter the alcove on the left and pick up the Artifact.

Jump to grab the next pole. Swing and jump to the opposite platform. Push/ pull the movable box and throw it down. It will shatter, revealing the third statue. Drop down and position the statue in the last hole, making sure it faces the center of the room.

The camera shows the pressure plate, which means that you need to step on it for the last time. The hammer is still active, so quickly step off. When the hammer hits the plate, the gate to the Key and the exit doors open. [Checkpoint] Go through the gate and get the Key of Hephaestus from the pedestal. [Checkpoint] Pass once more the electrified ball and leave the room. Use the switch to open the gate which opens after a few seconds, giving you the time to jump and grab its handhold. The gate closes after a couple of seconds, so when you hear the third "tick", press the Jump button to grab the opening above. Drop down at the other side and return back to the room with the central structure. [Checkpoint] On your return, a ledge extends, so you can reach the central structure.

Back to the room with the central structure/ DAMOCLES switch - Jump to grab the ledge on the right pillar of the structure and traverse around the corner. Release to grab the lower ledge, traverse a bit to the right and pull up. You are on the same level as the closed ATLAS door. Facing that door, grab the ladder on the left and climb down. Release to drop on the lower platform. Go to the other side of it, to the part that seems broken, and notice the switch in the alcove below. This opens the DAMOCLES door. To reach the switch, jump to the slide on the right of the switch (as shown in this screenshot). Use it to open the door. [Checkpoint]

(Note: You can go to this alcove by also using the ledges close to the ATLAS door, but this is time consuming, since you will have to go up and down more times).

On the ground/ATLAS switch - Once you have used the switch, hang from the edge of the alcove, release to grab the lower ledge and drop down. To the left and around the walkway is the switch that opens the ATLAS door. [Checkpoint]

Climbing up the central structure - Drop to the ground and approach the central structure. Climb on the lower block and pick up the Shotgun Ammo. Jump to grab the next ledge and pull up. Grab the crevice of the pillar and shimmy around the corner. Jump to grab the ladder on the right and climb to the top. Turn left and notice the ring on the wall (as shown here). Use the Grapple to catch it and pull the ledge out. This ledge leads to the POSEIDON door, but we will climb up the structure and visit the rest three doors downwards. Facing the ATLAS door, locate the stone block on the left. Climb on it and jump to grab the ledge of the opposite pillar. Traverse around the two corners and jump to grab the upper ledge. Traverse around the corner and jump to grab the platform on the right (it is the one from where you jumped for the DAMOCLES switch).

With the ATLAS door to your back, jump to the opposite ledge then jump to grab the crevice in the left hand pillar. Traverse around the corner and jump to grab the upper ledge. Jump to grab the ledge on the left, then the one above; pull up. You are again on the ledge, which is on the same level as the ATLAS door. Climb on the block and jump to grab the crevice in the pillar. Traverse around the two corners and jump to grab the edge of the platform; pull up (to the left is the button you shot before). Jump to the opposite ledge, grab the crevice of the pillar and traverse around the corner. Jump to grab the ledge above, then the platform above. Pull up and you are back at the top of the central structure.

Top of central structure/ Heading to ATLAS door - Go around the platform and jump on the ledge you extended when you first entered this room. Jump to grab the ledge on the right and drop down (see this screenshot to get oriented). Hang from the edge, shimmy right and around the corner, and release to grab the lower ledge. Drop to the slide and jump to grab the crevice ahead before falling to your death. Traverse around the corner and pull up.

Artifact #3 - Before going through the door, let's go for a Secret. (You may want to go through the ATLAS door and create a Checkpoint, in case you die on your try to get the Artifact). Hang from the edge you came from, release to grab the lower ledge and traverse to the left (as shown in this screenshot). When you reach the end, jump to grab the next ledge. Jump to grab the horizontal pole behind you, swing and jump into the alcove. Climb on the block and pick up the Artifact. Carefully, jump to grab the pole and make your way back to the ATLAS door the same way you came.

Through ATLAS door - [Checkpoint] Follow the passage to reach a switch that opens the door after a couple of seconds, giving you the time to jump and grab its handhold (do not even think to enter, because the spikes with kill you). The gate closes after a couple of seconds, so when you hear the third "tick", press the Jump button to grab the opening above. Ignore the pole you see, and drop down at the other side. Follow the passage as it goes. [Checkpoint]

Be careful of the deep pit, because it is a long drop down. Grab the mechanism and rotate it to extend two stone platforms above the pit, which will help you get across. When you do the latter, go up the ramp and notice the ledge on the left. Grab it, jump to grab the next one and traverse to the left. Jump to grab the ledge above and pull up. Pick up the Caliber Pistol Ammo and drop down to the right. Use the switch to extend two sticks above the pit, which will create a horizontal pole. [Checkpoint]

Drop back down and go to the top of the ramp. Be careful, because the spikes are harmful. Enable the Manual Aim and shoot the two buttons alongside Atlas' statue. Every time you shoot a button, the camera shows a row of spikes to be removed. After the second shot, Atlas' globe will fall down, so immediately run down the ramp. Keep running until you reach the pit. Jump to grab the pole, but do not swing because the globe will hit you. Once you grab the pole, quickly press the Jump button to land on the other side. The globe will destroy the pole and fall into the pit.

Use the mechanism again to extend the stone platforms and make it across. Go to the top of the ramp and pick up the Shotgun Ammo. Enter the alcove and get the Key of Atlas from the pedestal. Go down the ramp and use the now broken pillar on the left to reach the ledge above. Pick up the Small Medipack.

Artifact #4 - Climb on the ledge to the left and pick up the Artifact.

Drop back down and use the switch to extend the stone platforms above the pit. They will start opening again, so drop to the ground and cross the pit. Go through the passage, use the switch and jump to grab the handhold of the door. Once it opens, jump to grab the pole behind you. The door will close, so swing and jump to grab the opening above the door. Drop down at the other side and return back to the room with the central structure. [Checkpoint] On your return, a ledge extends, so you can reach the central structure.

Back to the room with the central structure/ Heading to DAMOCLES door - Take a running jump to grab the opposite ledge of the structure and pull up. Just on the right is a ladder. Climb it down and drop to the platform. Turn right and jump to grab the opposite ledge. Pull up and climb on the column you pulled down before. Cross it to the end and climb on the right hand ledge. Pull the movable cage and hang from the right edge of the ledge. Jump to grab the next ledge and traverse around the corner. Drop down and pick up the Small Medipack. Make your way back to the fallen column the same way you came.

This time climb on the left hand ledge and push the movable cage. Jump back to the right hand ledge and jump to grab the crevice above the left ledge. Shimmy all the way to the left, release to grab the lower ledge and jump to grab the ledge on the left. Traverse around the corner and release to grab the lower ledge. Drop down and pick up the Small Medipack. Hang from the edge of the platform and release to grab the lower ledge. Traverse around the corner and drop down. Slide down the slope to land in front of the DAMOCLES door.

Through DAMOCLES door - Go through the door. [Checkpoint] The switch opens the door, but it closes when Lara grabs its handhold (her weight makes the door close). Use the Grapple to catch the block above the door and pull it down. If the block falls on Lara, it will kill her, so be careful. Use the switch and jump on the block. Allow the door open a bit, jump to grab its handhold and jump to grab the opening before the door closes. Drop down at the other side and follow the passage. Step on the pressure plate to open the door. [Checkpoint]

[Alternative method and bug warning: Some people use another way for getting into the room. After using the switch that opens the door, they push the block beneath it. That way, the block prevents the door from closing. If you do it that way, climb on the block, jump to grab the handhold and climb into the opening above. In any case, do NOT pull the block out. Sometimes, the switch does not return to its original position (which is up) and you cannot open door. If this happens, you cannot get to the other side. Also, make sure that the block lands with the rings at the top and bottom, and not to the sides. If the latter happens, the block will not be tall enough and the gate will not open properly (thanks to Jerry for the note). In this case, follow the method as suggested in the walkthrough above.]

When you enter the room, take a look above to spot the swords. They are harmless now, so freely proceed and enter the next room. Go to the back where you will find a Small Medipack and some Caliber Pistol Ammo. Go to the center of the room and pick up the Key of Damocles. Immediately jump away, because the swords from above will fall down. When this is done, the exit door closes, the swords rises up in the previous room and the camera alerts you for the hanging swords. This also made some ledges fall down, so you can exit.

Go up the sloped ledge at the back of the room and use the Grapple to catch the gold ring on the wall. Perform the wall run to reach either L shaped platform. From there, jump to the ledge in the middle, then on the pillar on the right. Jump in the right hand window and use the lever to remove some swords from the floor of the first room. [Checkpoint] Drop to the ground and return to the previous room [Checkpoint], being careful of the sword that will fall down.

The left hand way is blocked by the swords, so go to the right and around the corner. When you reach the end, the camera shows the area from above. You have to make a play with the swords in the middle and reach the other side of the room intact. You can stand for a second only on the white squares (as shown in this screenshot), passing from the red ones. Once you make it, do not rush to proceed. The hanging swords will fall down, so you have to move cautiously.

Go around to the left until you reach a low broken pillar. Climb on it and jump to grab the crevice in the wall. Jump to grab the one above, traverse to the left around the corner and pull up in front of the window. Pull the lever to remove the swords behind this window and some others close to the ones you passed through before. [Checkpoint] That way, you will not have to go through the same process again.

Artifact #5 - Drop to ground and again climb on the low broken pillar. Jump over the swords to land on the other side. Enter the second room and, once again, make your way to the platfrom in the middle of the room. This time go to the left and jump to grab the ledge of the left hand window. Pull up and pick up the Artifact.

Drop back down and make your way to the window where you pulled the last switch. Grab the vertical structure and jump to grab the pillar. Pull up and jump to the next pillar. Jump to grab the other vertical structure and release to land in front of the window. Pick up the Large Medipack and jump to grab the lower ledge on the wall. Jump to grab the upper one and shimmy left. You now need to jump to the left and use the Grapple to catch the gold ring above. Perform the wall run and jump to land on the pillar behind and a bit to the left.

(The painful jump: This part can end up really frustrating. Lara does not land on the pillar no matter what. Instead, she keeps falling to the ground. Are you sure you are using the wall run properly? This page gives detailed instructions.)

Jump from pillar to pillar until you reach the last one. Jump to grab the ledge on the wall, then use the rest ones in order to reach the ledge above the door. Use the mechanism to open the door and drop down. Go through the door and follow the passage. Use the switch and jump to grab the handhold of the door. The door will open, so once you hear the third "tick", press Jump to grab the opening above. Drop down at the other side and follow the passage to return back to the room with the central structure. [Checkpoint] On your return, a ledge extends, but this time you cannot reach the central structure.

Back to the room with central structure/ Heading to POSEIDON door - Hang from either side of the ledge and drop down. Drop to the ground and climb up the central structure until you reach the first ledge (after climbing up the ladder). Turn left and jump on the ledge you extended before. Jump to grab the ledge on the right, then the next one. Jump to grab the next ledge, then the next two above. Pull up, climb on the right hand ledge and crawl under the rock. At the end, drop in front of the POSEIDON door.

Through POSEIDON door - Go through the door. [Checkpoint] Follow the passage and use the switch. Jump to grab the handhold and wait for the door to open. When you hear the third "tick" press Jump to grab the opening above. Drop down at the other side and draw weapons. Three rats will show up from around the corner, so get rid of them. The passage gets you to a room with a pool. [Checkpoint] Pick up the Small Medipack from the back of the room and jump into the water. Swim down where you will find a lever. Pull it to open the nearby gate. Swim through it and follow the tunnel to another room which is half-filled with water. [Checkpoint]

Artifact #6 - Jump into the water and locate the lever on the central column. Pull it to open a gate just above. Surface, climb into the alcove and pick up the Artifact.

Jump into the water and climb into the alcove to the right of the entrance (as you face it) where you will find a Small Medipack. Jump again into the water and climb on the circular platfrom in the middle. Notice the lever that you cannot use now. Start climbing up the structure until you reach the top. Follow the walkway that leads to a fish statue. Pick up the Caliber Pistol Ammo and pull the movable box to allow the water flow from the statue's mouth. This will fill the room with water until the ledge you are. Take a mental note of the opening to the right of the statue (as you face it). Now jump into the water and climb on the ledge opposite the statue. There is another movable box there, so push it into the water.

[Note: You can take a shortcut here and avoid draining and filling again the room with water. After pulling the block from the fish's mouth, cross the bridge in front of the closed gate. Turn left and jump to grab the edge of the alcove to the left of the gate (as shown in this screenshot). This can also be done before filling the room with water, but if you do not make it, you will fall to your death. Thanks to dinahcat (PS2) for the tip and xRikux89 who verified it for the PC version.]

Jump into the water and pull the lever you could not use before. This will open a hatch and release a wooden platfrom which will get stuck beneath a ledge. Surface and climb out of the water. Go again to the fish statue and this time push the movable box towards the its mouth. Make sure you center the box to the mouth or the water will push the box back. This will stop the water from falling, bringing the water's level back to its original level. Jump into the water and climb on the ledge with the second movable box. Push it towards the mouth of the fish to stop the water from falling down. This will lower the water's level even more and make the wooden platform accessible.

Go to the entrance and use the ledges on the right to go down. You have to use the Grapple and pull the wooden platform beneath the opening, which is located at the top of the room. Use the ledges you came from to go back to the circular platform above. Pull the movable box to fill the room with water and raise the wooden platform. Before proceeding, correct the platform's position and make sure it is beneath the opening. Climb up the central structure to the top and pull the other box to fill the room with more water and bring the wooden platform to the top. Jump on it and jump to grab the edge of the opening. Grab the crevice in the wall and then jump to grab the opening on the right. Drop down at the other side and get the Key of Poseidon from the pedestal.

Use the switch to open the door and drop into the water. Swim down and through the opening you first entered this room. Return back to the pool and climb out of the water. If you think that your breath is not enough, you can push the top box to stop the water from falling down, thus emptying half of the room (thanks to Dimi for this tip). Follow the passage and use the switch. Jump to grab the stone part of the door and wait for it to open. When you hear the third "tick" press Jump to grab the opening above. Drop down at the other side and return back to the room with the central structure. [Checkpoint] On your return, a ledge extends, so you can reach the central structure.

Once you have all four Keys - Jump to land on the ledge of the central structure. Make your way to the ground and use the four Keys to open the door and end the level.

Level 6: The Coliseum

Kills: 21
Supplies: 10 (plus a pair of Caliber Pistols)
Artifacts: 1
Relics: 0
Additional Secrets: 1

[Checkpoint] The level begins where the previous one left you. Go through the door you opened and follow the passage to the next room. Kill the two rats and vault onto the rock in the back left corner. Jump to grab the ledge, pull up and turn around. Jump to grab the top of the pillar and pull up. Pick up the Small Medipack and drop back to the ledge. Jump to grab the next ledge and pull up. Jump to grab the ledge opposite the entrance and pull up. Kill the rat and go to the other side of the ledge. Drop down and jump over the pool. Climb on the stone ledge and pick up the Shotgun Ammo. Then drop back down.

Pool and warehouse - Drop into the pool and swim to the side with the fallen pillar (the other way leads to a dead end). On the T junction swim to the left and, if you need it, surface above to get some air. Continue swiming until you pass the broken wall. Surface above and climb out of the water. Kill the two rats and two bats and climb on the low cage. Jump to grab the ledge on the wall, then jump to grab the one on the right. Use the next ledge to reach the big cage where you will find a Large Medipack. Pick it up and drop down. Again, climb on the low cage and jump to grab the ledge on the wall. This time, jump to grab the funnel on the left and traverse around the two corners. Jump to grab the ledge, then the vertical pole behind you. Climb to the top and jump to the big cage. From there, jump behind the breaker to land on another cage. Drop down and go up the ascent to reach the Coliseum. [Checkpoint]

In the cut scene Lara enters the arena. A gorilla appears on the left and does not seem pleased with the intruder. It grabs a rocks and throws it towards Lara who manages to avoid it. She then points her guns to the gorilla, so guess who will be your next opponent!

Inside the Coliseum - After the cut scene, two gorillas chase Lara. Draw weapons and start shooting. Be careful, because they can grab the various rocks and throw them to you. [Checkpoint] Once you kill them, search for some Shotgun Ammo opposite the statue. Climb on the rocks to the right of the statue and jump to grab the ledge (as shown in this screenshot). Go to the right and pick up some more Shotgun Ammo. Return back and go up the ramp. Two bats will attack, so kill them. Climb up the ledge close to the pillar (you will see its shadow there) and jump to grab its crevice. Traverse around and jump to grab the crevice above. Traverse to the left and jump to the stone ledge behind you. Jump to grab the next ledge and pull up. Pick up the Small Medipack and slide down the slope at the other side. Jump to the stone ledge on the left, then jump to grab the balcony. Pull up and go to the front side. Use the switch to open a door in the arena.

Warehouse - Carefully make your way down, but do not drop into the arena. If you hang from the ledge, two gorillas will come through the door and two lions will join after a while. Kill them from above and drop into the arena. Go through the door and down the acsent to reach a warehouse. To the left is a cage with a Key at the top, but you cannot reach it. Go to the right and pick up the Shotgun Ammo. Go to the other side of the warehouse and use the Grapple to catch the small box. Pull it down and push it above the wooden ramp. Position the box next to the cage and climb up it to get the Balcony Key. [Checkpoint]

Drop down and follow the passage back to the arena. Draw weapons, because two lions are waiting for you there. Kill them and make your way back to the balcony the same way as you did before. Use the Key you got to open the gate and go through it. Climb up the ladder to reach the top of the Coliseum. [Checkpoint]

Top of Coliseum - First, go to the right to trigger two bats; kill them. No go to the left and jump to grab the next ledge. Pull up and go to the other side. There is a Small Medipack on the ledge below, but if you decide to go and get it, you will have to take the quite long route back to this ledge. Jump off the ledge and use the Grapple to catch the gold ring on the ceiling. You are able to see another ring beyond, but do not bother with it now. Climb up the Grapple line, swing and jump to grab the ledge above the second ring. Pull up and go to the other side. To reach the ledge with the Small Medipack, you have to jump and grab the crevice below (as shown in this screenshot). Then jump to grab the ledge with the Medipack and pull up.

Secret - Turn around and jump to grab the crevice in the pillar. Traverse to the left and jump to grab the ledge. Pull up and pick up a pair of Caliber Pistols. Hang from the edge and traverse to the left to reach the ledge you came from; pull up.

Artifact - Jump off the ledge and use the Grapple to catch the gold ring you used before. Turn around and climb down the Grapple line. Swing and jump to grab the second gold ring. You have to jump and grab the crevice to the right of the alcove* (as shown in this screenshot). Once there, traverse to the left and pull into the alcove. Get the Artifact and hang from the edge. Shimmy to the right and pull onto the upper ledge.

[*Important note for the PC players: Many people encounter problems when they jump from the Grapple line and they cannot reach the ledge to the right of the alcove that contains the Artifact. A possible remedy to this problem is to disable the Fullscreen Effects from the Options, Display menu (and make Lara "see" the ledge) or lower your game's resolution. This grab is possible and the complete process can be watched in this video.]

Slide down the slope and jump to grab the ledge. Pull up and jump to grab the crevice in the pillar, then the top of it. Traverse to the left and jump to the stone ledge behind you. Jump to the roof with the two statues, go to the other side and drop to the ledge below. DO NOT DROP DOWN FROM HERE!! If you do that, you will have to take the long route back! Besides, there is nothing interesting down there. Instead, jump to the balcony and pick up the Caliber Pistol Ammo. [Checkpoint]

Go through the opening and down the ramps. On the junction, go to the left. Follow the passage and kill the two bats. The end takes you to Midas's Palace.

Level 7: Midas's Palace

Kills: 16
Supplies: 9
Artifacts: 1
Relics: 2
Additional Secrets: 0

[Checkpoint] Midas room - The level begins where the previous one left you. Go up the stairs to enter Midas room. Two gorillas will attack from beyond, so draw weapons and kill them. If you proceed further into the room, one more will show up, so stay sharp. If you want, you can kill them from the ledge with the switch that will be descriped in a while. The statue you see on the other side is Midas'. According to the Greek mythology, Midas was a king of Phrygia, who had the power to transform whatever he touched into gold. So, the hand in this room has its meaning. If Lara jumps on the hand, she will be transformed into gold and die. So, do not it before getting a Checkpoint.

To the left of the entrance (as you face it) is a fountain you can climb on. Do that and jump to grab the crevice in the wall. Jump to grab the ledge above and traverse to the left. Pull onto the platform with the shallow pool. Pick up the Large Medipack and use the switch to open a door below. [Checkpoint] Carefully drop down and go through the door you just opened. Follow either way to reach the next room. [Checkpoint]

Room with blocks and spikes - Be careful of the spikes! Go to the right of the room and pick up the Shotgun Ammo. Turn to face the entrance and notice the rocks in the alcove on the right (as shown in this screenshot). Use the Grapple to catch the gold ring and pull the rocks down to reveal the content of the alcove. Go through the opening opposite the entrance. The stairs lead to a closed gate, but there is a passage to the side with a movable crate at the end. Pull it to reveal a small room with a switch. Use it to open the gate at the top of stairs. Exit the room, go up the stairs and through the gate. Pick up the Small Medipack from the right and continue up the next stairs. Pull the lever to raise the blocks and slides into the room below and extend some ledges from the walls. [Checkpoint] You have to use the raised blocks and extended ledges to get to the opposite alcove that contains the piece you are looking for.

Relic #1 - Jump on the pillar ahead, but do not stay there for long because it will sink. Quickly jump to grab the pillar with spikes on the left and traverse around the two corners. Jump to the slope behind you, slide a bit and jump to grab the extened ledge. Pull up and quickly jump to grab the edge of the alcove beyond, before the ledge goes back inside. Traverse to the right and pull up. Pick the Athenian Owl Figurine from behind the rocks. [Checkpoint] (This video shows the above procedure.)

Alternative method for getting the Relic - Many people encounter problems with the last jump, because they cannot grab the edge of the alcove from the extended ledge (which is the short way). If you have the same problem, do the following: Push the movabe crate to the room with spikes and blocks. Position it next to the sloped pillar on the right (as you face the opening that leads to the lever - see this screenshot to get oriented). Once you use the lever that raises all pillars, go down and push the crate in the pillar's gap. That way, the crate will prevent the pillar from sinking down (which happens quite soon). Then go back close to the lever. Use the procedure until you reach the last pillar that is in front of the alcove with the Lead Bar. Instead of jumping there, jump to the sloped pillar that is now blocked by the crate (as shown in this screenshot). Once you land on the slope, jump to grab the edge of the alcove and pull up to get the Relic. (This video shows the procedure - Many people have used this method, but ladykillercroft brought it to our attention.)

Carefully drop down and make your way back to the lever. Pull it again to raise the blocks and extend the ledges.

Artifact - Again, jump on the pillar ahead, but do not stay there for long because it will sink. Quickly jump to grab the pillar with spikes on the left and traverse around the two corners. Jump to the slope behind you, slide a bit and jump to grab the extened ledge. Pull up and this time, jump to grab the crevice of the pillar with spikes on the right. Jump to grab the top and traverse to the right and around the two corners. Jump to the pillar behind you and then on the slope ahead. Immediately jump to grab the ledge and pull up. Quickly jump to the pillar on the right before the ledge goes back inside and quickly jump to grab the edge of the alcove before the pillar sinks. Pull up and pick up the Artifact.

Alternative method for getting the Artifact (by Anubs_AF) - Pull the lever to raise all pillars and extend the ledges. Jump to the low square ledge on the right or drop down and climb on it (the ledge is marked with an X in this screenshot). Wait for the opposite pillar to rise up and jump to grab it. Pull up and quickly turn right and jump to grab the edge of the alcove that contains the Artifact (as shown in this screenshot). This video shows the procedure.

Carefully drop down and make your way back to the lever. Pull it again to raise the blocks and extend the ledges.

Again, jump on the pillar ahead, but do not stay there for long because it will sink. Quickly jump to grab the pillar with spikes on the left and traverse around the two corners. Jump to the slope behind you, slide a bit and jump to grab the extened ledge. Pull up and jump to grab the crevice of the pillar with spikes on the right. Jump to grab the top and traverse around the two corner. Jump to the pillar behind you and then on the slope ahead. Immediately jump to grab the ledge and pull up. Quickly jump to the ledge on the left, then to grab the pillar with spikes. Traverse to the left around the two corners and jump to grab the crevice of the pillar behind you. Jump to grab the top of the pillar and pull up. Turn right and jump into the alcove. Get the Lead Bar#1 from the pedestal. [Checkpoint]

Back to the Midas room - Drop down and return to the Midas room with your weapons drawn. Two gorillas will attack as you exit, so kill them. Climb on the ledge with the Midas statue, grab the crevice on the left and jump to grab the next one. Climb on the ledge above and go to the left. Behind the statue you will find a switch that opens the other door below. Climb on the ledge above the switch and pick up the Shotgun Ammo. Make your way down and go through the door. Follow either way and go up the steps to reach the next room. [Checkpoint]

Room with tall pillar in the middle - As you approach the room, the camera focuses on the piece you are looking for, which is behind some bars. You can see the stairs on the right hand side that go up, but do not go there yet. For now, enter the room with the tall pillar. Go through the opening at the far left and follow the passage that gets you to some stairs. Go down them with your weapons drawn. A gorilla and a lion will come from the next area, so back up and kill them. Enter the room with the pillar. Use the Grapple to catch all three rings and pull the wooden beams that support the pillar in the room above. The latter will shatter and the Lead Bar #2 will fall down. Pick it up and return back to the room with the tall pillar.

As you can see, the place has been destroyed. Exit the room and now go up the stairs on the left that take you to a ledge higher in the room. Pick up the Shotgun Ammo from the left and approach the opening on the right. Kill the four bats that fly from beyond and go to the right. Jump on the stone block, then on the next one. Jump to grab the crevice, then the alcove on the left. Pull up and pick up the Large Medipack.

[Note: At this point, you can take a shortcut and avoid climbing to the top of the room. From the alcove with the Large Medipack, turn to face the base of the broken pillar. There is a flat ledge at the bottom that you can reach if you jump on the sandy slope (as shown in this screenshot). From there, jump to the sandy slope and press Jump before sliding down, in order to grab the crevice of the pillar (as shown here). If you decide to do this, skip the next paragraph.)

Drop back to the stone blocks, grab the crevice again and this time jump to grab the ledge on the right hand wall. Traverse to the right and jump to grab the gold ring on the wall. Perform the wall run and jump to grab the ledge on the next (right hand) wall. If you cannot grab the ledge, perfrom the wall run and, when Lara reaches the highest point to the right, press the Crouch button to release the Grapple. Lara will grab the ledge below and from there you can jump and grab the ledge on the right hand wall (thanks to NicktheIrish for the tip). Jump to grab the next ledge, then the rope behind you. Turn left and aim for the crevice of the pillar. Swing and jump to grab it. Jump to grab the next two crevices, then the ledge on the left; pull up. [Checkpoint] Turn to face the center of the room and jump to the broken pillar below. Its top part is sloped, so press Jump to land on the stone below.

Turn around and jump to grab the crevice of the pillar you just slid down. Traverse to the right and jump to the platform behind you. Continue to the other side of the platform and jump to grab the ledge, then the next one. Jump to grab the stone block on the right and finally jump to grab the ledge above; pull up. Jump off the ledge and use the Grapple to catch the gold ring above. Climb down the Grapple line if necessary and perform the wall run. When you reach the highest point to the right, jump back to reach the stone ledge behind. Jump to grab the edge of the alcove and pull up. Pick up the Small Medipack and carefully make your way to the ledge beneath the gold ring where you used the Grapple. [Checkpoint]

(Note: If you have troubles with the above wall run, refer to the same process in the Damocles room of St. Francis Folly level.)

Back to the Midas room - Go through the opening and follow the passage with your weapons drawn. Just before reaching the next area, two gorillas will attack. Kill them and exit to the ledge back to the Midas room. Pick up the Caliber Pistol Ammo and use the switch to open the door behind Midas' statue. [Checkpoint] Carefully make your way down and, as before, climb on the ledge behind the statue. Go through the door [Checkpoint] and follow the passage to the next room.

Cave with pool and flaming pillars - You reach a room with a pool and some circular pillars. There is a crocodile in the water, so jump into to alert it and climb out to kill it from safety. Jump into the water again and locate the lever on the side of one of the pillars (as shown in this screenshot). Use it to raise a stone pillar exactly above. Climb out of the water and go up the stairs. Cross the walkway in the middle and step on the pressure plate. This will activate fires on the pillars around.

Right hand alcove - You need to reach the high ledge at the exact opposite side, passing from the flaming pillars. So, jump to grab the circular ledge ahead and pull up (or land on it directly). Wait for the fire to go off and jump to grab the next circular ledge with the stone pillar you raised before on the right; pull up. The fires here go on and off, creating a circular sequence. When they go off in front of you, go to the right and around to the left until you see the crevice in the pillar. Jump to grab it, then the next two. Traverse to the left and jump to land on the ledge behind you. Enter the alcove and use the switch to raise a circular ledge in the middle of the pool. [Checkpoint]

Left hand alcove - Return back to the edge of the alcove and jump to grab the crevice of the stone pillar you came from. Wait for the fires below to go off and drop down. Jump to grab the circular ledge you just raised and pull up. Wait for the fire to go off and jump to grab the crevice of the pillar with the lion faces. Traverse to the left and when you hang beneath the second lion face, jump to land on the small square ledge behind you. Jump to grab the ladder and climb to the top. Use the switch to raise the second stone pillar, which is next to the one with the lion faces. [Checkpoint] From the edge, use the Grapple to catch the gold ring of the pillar with the lion faces (as shown in this screenshot). Pull it to rotate the pillar and gain access to some metal ledges that can get you to the top of it without passing through the fires.

(Note: If, before coming here, you used the switch that gives access to the Relic, the last switch as described above would be already down. This happens, because the switch that leads to the Relic raises the stone pillar, so the switch as described above becomes useless. If this is the case for you, just use the Grapple and move on.)

From the extended ledge, jump to grab the metal ledge of the pillar with the lion faces. If you accidentally fall into the water, you will have to take the long route back. However, you will be able to grab the metal ledge from the bottom of the pillar. Climb to the top and jump to the circular ledge on the left when the fires go off. Jump to grab the crevice of the stone pillar, then the next one. Wait for the fire to go off and traverse to the right. Do this once more and, again, wait for the above fire to go off, then jump to grab the crevice and quickly shimmy to the right. Jump to land on the ledge behind you and get the Lead Bar #3 from the pedestal. [Checkpoint] Pick up the Large Medipack from the right and drop into the water. Make your way back to the plate that initiated the fires.

Relic #2 - If you want the Secret, you have to go through the same process again, so if you are not interested, skip this and the next paragraph. Again, make your way to the right hand alcove where you used the first switch. Locate the gold ring on the wall (to the left of the alcove as you face the switch - see this screenshot) and jump to grab it with your Grapple. Perform the wall run and jump to grab the ledge on the left. Release to land on the slope, slide a bit and jump to grab the ledge of the next wall. Jump to grab the next ledge on the right, then the one above. Jump to the slope behind you and then jump to grab the horizontal pole. Swing and jump to grab the next one. Swing and jump to land on the vertical structure. Before losing your balance, jump to the slope ahead and jump to land into the alcove. Use the switch to raise even more the second stone pillar (which is exactly above) and reveal the Relic.

[Note: You can take a shortcut and avoid doing the wall run part. After getting the Lead Bar, jump down to the pillar you came from and stay on the extended part where there are no flames (as shown in this screenshot). Turn to face the slope opposite the alcove with the switch and wait for the fires in front of you to go off. You only need to jump on the slope (as shown here), losing a small percentage of health, and before sliding in the water, jump to the alcove. You can also watch this video. Thanks to Milo for the tip.]

This is timed. You have about 50 seconds to reach the pillar and grab the Relic before the pillar sinks. Do not worry about your health during the process and do not hesitate to pass through the fires and spend a Medipack. So, quickly jump into the water and make your way to the plate that initiated the fires. Jump to grab the first circular ledge, then jump to grab the next one on the right. Go to the left and jump to the circular ledge in the middle of the pool. From there, jump to grab the pillar with the lion faces, traverse left and climb to the top. Jump to the circular ledge below and run to the left where you will find the Griffin-Head Protome. (We have created two videos for this part. The first one shows how you can get to the switch and the second one shows the timed run.)

Jump into the water and climb out. Return back to the Midas room, killing two gorillas on your way. For the least damage, exit to the area behind the statue and climb on the ledge above the switch (where you got the Shotgun Ammo before). Go to the front side of the statue and stand in front of Midas' hand. Press the Interact button to bring up the Lead Bars. Use the first one and place it on the hand to transform it into gold. Press the Interact button again to take the Bar from the hand. Do this two more times and place the gold bars into the receptacles to open the trapdoor in the pool and end the level.

Level 8: Tomb of Tihocan

Kills: 8
Supplies: 12
Artifacts: 2
Relics: 0
Additional Secrets: 0

(Note: Those who have played and completed the original Tomb Raider should recognize the level as The Cistern. However, Crystal Dynamics have merged The Cistern and Tomb of Tihocan into one level. You will recognize the latter when you reach the end of the level.)

[Checkpoint] The level begins where the previous one left you. Jump into the water and swim down and through the tunnel. It is one way, so you will not get lost. If you need to take a breather, you can find an air pocket halfway through. When you surface, climb out of the water and push the movable crate into the next room. Kill the rat and continue pushing the crate. Position it beneath the switch on the left, climb on the crate and use the switch to open the trapdoor behind you. Drop down, hang from the edge of the opening and drop to the lower room. Kill two more rats and enter the Cistern. [Checkpoint]

Inside the Cistern - When you enter, Pierre talks to Lara "Don't worry, Lara. The water is quite refreshing. Ha-ha." Ignore him, because he cannot hurt you at this point. If you take a look around, you will see various ledges and a pool at the bottom. There is an opening on the right but you cannot reach it now. The first bridge on the left leads to a mechanism that floods the Cistern, but do not do it yet.

Going around the perimeter of the Cistern - Turn right and jump to grab the horizontal pole. Swing and jump to grab the gold ring on the wall, using the Grapple. Perform the wall run and jump to grab the crevice on the left. Traverse around to the left and drop down where you will find some Caliber Pistol Ammo. Vault on the rock ahead and jump to grab the crevice in the wall. Jump to grab the one on the right and pull up onto the ledge. Pick up the Mini SMG Ammo and jump to grab the crevice you grabbed before, after performing the wall run. Shimmy around the corner, but this time do not drop down. Jump to grab the crevice behind you, then the gold ring on the wall. Perform the wall run and jump to land on the ledge beyond. Go left and jump to the next ledge. Follow it as it goes and jump over the next gap. Again, follow the ledge and jump to the next one. Pick up the Shotgun Ammo and jump to grab the horizontal pole. Swing, jump to grab the next one and finally jump to the ledge beyond. Push the movable crate to throw it down. [Checkpoint]

[Note (contains SPOILERS): If you do not wish to drop down for the Caliber Pistol Ammo and then go for the Mini SMG Ammo, you will have a second chance later to get them after flooding the Cistern.]

Jump to grab the crevice in the wall (as shown here), then the next one above. Jump to grab the horizontal pole on the left, swing and jump to the opposite ledge. Go to the other side and jump to grab the crevice. Traverse around the corner and use the two horizontal poles to reach the crevice in the opposite wall. Traverse around the corner, but do not drop down. Instead, jump to grab the crevice behind you (as shown in this screenshot). Traverse around the corner and pull up. Push the second movable crate and throw it down.

At the bottom of the Cistern/ Draining the pool - Cross the bridge and jump to the opposite side. Now, you have to go down. The quickest way is to drop into the pool. Quickly climb out of water using one of the two low ledges and kill the two crocodiles. Here you can see the crate you pushed before. First, get the Small Medipack from the right, then push the crate into the pool. Go to the other side and vault onto the broken ledge. Climb on the low wall and drop down at the other side. Use the mechanism to drain the pool. [Checkpoint] Do not forget about the other crate. Go around the Cistern and pick up the Large Medipack from behind the fallen ledges (thanks to Christian for bringing this Medipack to our attention). Pass the canal and kill the crocodile. Push the crate down and into the now drained pool.

Hang from the edge of the pool and shimmy to the very right. Release to drop on a slope and you will slide to the bottom. Position the two crates on the pressure plates. The one opens a trapdoor that reveals a wooden platform and the other lowers some bars above. Facing the bars, locate the slide on the left. First, pick up a Small Medipack from behind the slope. Then jump on it and quickly press the Jump button to jump off the slide. Use the Grapple to catch the gold ring on the wall and perform the wall run to land on the ledge in the left hand corner. Jump to grab the crevice in the wall and traverse around the corner. Jump to grab the upper one, then the horizontal pole behind you. Swing and jump to grab the crevice of the opposite pillar. Traverse around the two corners and jump to grab the next pole. Swing and jump to grab the opposite crevice. Traverse to the left and pull up onto the ledge. Slide down the slope on the left and jump to grab the ledge ahead. Pull up and climb up the ledges to get to the top. Use the mechanism again to flood the pool. [Checkpoint]

[Note: There is a shorter way to get out of the drained pool. Facing the bars you lowered, turn right and locate the slope close to the ledge that gets you outside (as shown in this screenshot). With one tricky jump, Lara can use the slope and jump to grab the ledge. Approach the slope and notice that Lara can walk on it until a specific point. When she reaches the highest part, press the Jump button. Lara always jumps forward on a slope, so she will automatically turn around. When she does so, grab the ledge and pull up. This video shows the jump. Thanks to Anker for the hint.)

Going up/ Flooding the Cistern - Facing the pool after using the mechanism, go to the right to reach the canal. Use the Grapple to catch the ring of the wooden platfrom that is now floating and pull it as much as you can into the canal. Make sure that the platform touches the ledge (as shown in this screenshot) because this is the appropriate position for later. You now have to make your way back to the top of the Cistern. Jump into the pool and climb out of the water, using one of the two low ledges. Go left and locate the broken ledge next to the pillar (as shown in this screenshot). Go up it and jump to grab the crevice of the pillar. Jump to grab the next one and traverse around the corner. Jump up to grab the horizontal pole, swing and jump to grab the ledge beyond. Pull up, climb up the next two ledges and turn around. Jump to grab the upper crevice of the pillar you came from, then the next one, traverse around the two corners and jump to grab the bridge above; pull up. You are back at the top of the Cistern.

Use the mechanism on the right to flood the Cistern. [Checkpoint] This will bring the wooden platform at the top, where you need it in order to reach a high ledge. For now, jump into the water and swim into the big pipe beneath the mechanism and a bit to the right to get a Large Medipack (see this screenshot to get oriented). You will also find a Small Medipack in a pipe at the far left (if the mechanism is to your back) and some Shotgun Ammo in a pipe exactly opposite the mechanism.

(Note: If you did not get the Caliber and Mini SMG Ammo's before, you can get them now. For the latter, swim close to the ledge (as shown here) and press the Interact button. Lara will magically get the Ammo from within the water. Thanks to jennyanydots for the hint.)

Artifact #1 - As you exit the pipe with the Ammo, locate the lever on one of the pillars to the right (as shown in this screenshot). Use it to open a trapdoor at the bottom of the pool which reveals the Artifact and some Caliber Pistol Ammo.

Surface where the wooden platfrom is, climb on it and jump to grab the high ledge. If you cannot reach it, you can jump on the walkway and correct the platform's position. Enter the room with the three gargoyles. [Checkpoint] Jump into the water and swim down. Let the current drag you to a small pool. [Checkpoint] Climb out of the water and pick up the Shotgun Ammo. Jump into the water again and swim through the tunnel that takes you to the next area.

Outside Tihocan's Temple - You surface in a pool outside Tihocan's Temple. The door that leads inside is closed, so you need to open it. Swim to the left to find a small ledge you can climb on. Pick up the Shotgun and Caliber Pistol Ammo's. Jump into the water and dive down. Swim back (to the way you came from), looking for a tunnel on the left. Swim through it and surface at the end. Climb out of the water and use the switch to open the door of the Temple. [Checkpoint] Jump into the water and swim back to the pool.

Artifact #2 - Facing the small ledge with the pick-ups, locate the underwater tunnel on the right (as shown in this screenshot). Swim there to get the Artifact and return back to surface.

Climb out of the water and enter the Temple. [Checkpoint] The two centaurs are harmless... for now. Go between the pillars on the left.

In the cut scene, Lara enters the room and approaches the piece of Scion on the pedestal. She passes it by and goes to the tomb behind it. She starts reading the inscription "Here lies the God-King Tihocan; One of the Triumvirate; Keepers of the Three Pieces os the Scion; Leader of the chosen after the great betrayal caused Atlantis to be lost beneath the waves." She then opens the tomb and sees that Tihocan's body is missing. Pierre points his guns to her head from behind, holding the piece of Scion.

Be prepared for the Interactive cut scene. Press the correct buttons to save Lara from Pierre's shots.

In the next cut scene, Pierre exits the Temple. The centaurs awaken and chase him when Lara comes out at the same time. Pierre thinks that the centaurs are after him because he carries the piece of Scion, so he throws it to Lara who grabs it. However, the centaurs are now awaken, because the piece was removed from its place. So, they have to kill everything that moves, starting from Pierre. Now it is Lara's turn to deal with them.

Dealing with the centaurs - (Thanks to Mona Sax for clearing up a bit the procedure) You have to kill the two centaurs, but you cannot do it straight away. As you can see, they carry a shield that proctects them from your bullets. So, the first thing you need to do is to remove the shield from their hands. At the top right of your screen, you can see two bars. The yellow one is their health, which means that they die when the bar drops to zero. It will not decrease, however, before you remove their shields. The red bar indicates their rage. When you shoot repeatedly, the bar starts filling, causing the centaurs to become enraged. In that case, two things happen by turns:

• The centaurs stare at you, indicated by a green glow. You have to turn around and look the other way (or simply crouch - thanks Notts Raider). If you stay and look at them, the green glow will turn you into stone. Either the centaurs will kick you (and kill you) or you will have to press the arrow buttons and remove the stone from your body (and continue the battle).

• The centaurs attack and you have to use the Adrenaline Dodge and shoot their head. Remember: You have to press and hold the Crouch button, and when you see the red target on a centaur's head, shoot it. If you succeed, the centaur will slump down and expose his shield, which means that he will turn the shield and the ring at the back will face your direction. You then have to use the Grapple, catch the ring and pull the shield out of his hands. Once the shield is on the ground, the centaur will not pick it up again. Repeat the same procedure until the second centaur loses his shield.

Once both shields are down, start shooting the centaurs. This time, they will not attack. They will only use their green glow and try to petrify you. Once they become enraged and are ready to use the green glow, quickly holster your weapons, pick up a shield and point it to a centaur's direction. The green glow will reflect and return back to the centaur, thus turning him into stone. Quickly drop the shield and start shooting. You will see that the health bar will start decreasing. When it drops to zero, the centaur shatters. Repeat the same process for the second centaur.

Warning: To use the Grapple and catch the shield, the centaur must have rotated it and the ring at the back must face your direction. Sometimes, the centaur freezes and only raises his hand. In this case, you are not able to grab the ring and you have to repeat the process again. This screenshot shows the correct and "wrong" positions of the centaur's hand.)

(Note: You can also pull only one shield from one centaur onto the ground. You can use the same shield to deflect the petrifying rays of the other centaur who still holds his shield. Thanks to paulwork for the hint.)

In the cut scene, Lara approaches Pierre and it seems she feels sorry for him. She then puts the two pieces of the Scion together and receives a vision: The floor falls apart and Lara falls down. She keeps falling and she stops in midair in front of the Scion which then splits into three parts. She then sees the three Atlantian rulers. One of them (the woman) tained her piece and used it to maim Qualopec. The other ruler (Tihocan) wants to punish her. So, the last piece of Scion ends to Altantis. When Lara awakes from the vision, she falls to the ground and picks up the pieces of Scion.

Level 9: Temple of Khamoon

Kills: 24
Supplies: 36
Artifacts: 3
Relics: 1
Additional Secrets: 3

[Checkpoint] You begin the level with the Scion of Tihocan in your backpack. Follow the tunnel to reach an opening. You have to drop to the ground by either grabbing the edge and releasing, or jumping to the fallen pillar on the right and sliding down. [Checkpoint] Notice the gold ring on the pillar in the far right corner. Use the Grapple to catch it and pull the pillar down. There is a same pillar on the left, only this time a stone block is left in front of a ledge.

Locate the movable block in the back left corner. Pull it to reveal an alcove behind. Enter and pick up the Shotgun Ammo and Small Medipack. Exit and climb on the stone block, then to the next ledge. Pick up the Small Medipack and jump to grab the crevice on the left. Traverse around the corner and jump to grab the next crevice. Climb up the two crevices above and jump to grab the horizontal pole. Swing and jump to land on the fallen pillar. Just before reaching the end, jump to grab the ledge ahead. Traverse around the corner and jump to grab the horizontal pole behind you. Jump to grab the next one, then the block in the corner; pull up. Grab the crevice on the right, then the next one. Traverse to the right and jump to grab the edge of the opening; pull up. [Checkpoint]

Jump to grab the decorative scarab ahead and jump to grab the ledge above before the scarab slides back down. Pull up and follow the passage to a pit. Slide down the slope on the right and jump to grab the pole. Swing and jump to grab the decorative scarab on the other side. Again, jump to grab the ledge above before the scarab slides down. Pull up and follow the passage to the next room. [Checkpoint] The dramatic music alerts you to the situation. Once you slide into the room, a black panther will attack from the right, so quickly climb on the ledge opposite the entrance and kill it from safety. Once it is dead, do not forget to pick up the Shotgun Ammo from the left of the entrance (as you face it).

Secret #1 - Climb on the ledge opposite the entrance and turn left. Jump to grab the crevice and traverse around the corner. Pull into the opening and go to the left. Jump to grab the crevice and traverse around the two corners. Pull onto the ledge and pick up the Large Medipack.

Drop down, climb into the opening opposite the entrance and slide into the City of Khamoon.

The cut scene shows Lara sliding down the slope. She takes a look around and spots a still mummy in front of the Sphinx. When she makes one step forward, she hears a growling that comes from the right. She turns her head and sees a second mummy. The latter realises her appearance and turns around. It is obvious that it is not happy and starts moaning. This alerts the other mummy that runs towards Lara.

Area with Sphinx and obelisk - Immediately draw weapons and kill the two mummies. Pick up the Caliber Pistol Ammo from the bottom of the slope and the Shotgun Ammo from the far left corner. Jump into the pool and get the Small Medipack. You will find one more behind the pillar to the right of the Sphinx with the destroyed face (as you face it). The obelisk above the pool has four receptacles, but you do not have the pieces yet.

Going up and around the perimeter of the area - Locate the low broken pillar to the left of the Sphinx. Vault on it and jump to grab the crevice of the first pillar. Jump to grab the upper one and traverse around. Jump to grab the second pillar and climb to the top. From there, climb on the stone ledge in the corner. [Checkpoint] Jump to grab the next ledge and pull up. Shoot the button on the wall to extend a pole. It will slide back inside in a few seconds, so quickly jump to grab it, swing and jump to the opposite side. Pick up the Caliber Pistol Ammo and go around to the left. Jump to the pillar, then to the next one below. From there, jump to the small ledge at the bottom of the ladder. Climb up the ladder and jump to the Sphinx's head.

Artifact #1 - Climb into the opening above the Sphinx's head, then into the one on the right. Get the Artifact and return back to the Sphinx's head.

Jump off the head and use the Grapple to catch the gold ring above. Swing and jump to the pillar head. Jump to grab the ledge in the corner and pull up. Jump to grab the gold ring on the wall and perform the wall run to grab the second ring. Again, perform the wall run to reach the platform on the left. If you accidentally fall down, while using the Grapple, and survive from the drop, turn to face the pool and go to the left. You will see a pillar with several crevices. Use them to return back and try again. After using the Grapple, go to the end of the platform and jump to the fallen ledge to slide behind the Sphinx's head. Crawl under the fallen ledge and pick up the Large Medipack. Exit and use the switch to open the door at the front of the Sphinx. [Checkpoint] Carefully make your way down and go through the opening. Follow the passage to the next room. [Checkpoint]

Room with six statues - As you enter the room, take a mental note of the stone block to the right. If you take a look at the other side of the room, you will see two black panthers in an opening. They come out when you proceed further, so jump on the stone block and kill the panthers from there. Go to the end of the room and use the switch. This will make the statues slide forward and open two gates close to the entrance that will release two black panthers. Kill the threats and enter one of the rooms where you will find a Small Medipack.

The statues slide back after a few seconds, so go back to the switch and use it again. Run back to the entrance and climb on the stone block. Jump to grab the ledge of the first statue and pull up. Jump to the opposite statue (not the next one) and then to the next two. Jump to grab with your Grapple the gold ring on the wall and perfrom the wall run to catch the crevice on the right. Release to grab the lower crevice and shimmy right. The door closes when you grab it, so you have to be quick and jump to grab the ledge above. Once there, jump to grab the next crevice and traverse around to reach the opening; pull up. [Checkpoint]

Follow the passage to a pit. Slide down the slope and kill the three rats that come from around the corner. There is a movable block next to the slope you slid. Pull it outside the alcove and go behind it. Pick up the Small Medipack and push the block to the end of the pit. Pick up another Small Medipack and climb on the block. Jump to grab the ledge above and pull up. The passage gets you to a second pit. Slide down and pick up the Shotgun Ammo. Then use the crevices in the wall to return back up. Jump to grab the pole that extends, swing and jump to grab the next pole. Swing and jump to grab the decorative scarab, then quickly the ledge above. Follow the passage to the next area. [Checkpoint]

Room with two obelisks and cat statue - Hang from the edge to alert a crocodile from the opening below and pull up. You may have troubles aiming at it from here, but you can jump down, climb on one of the low ledges to the left (as you face the cat statue) and kill the threat from there. A second crocodile is lurking around, so stay sharp. Enter the opening beneath the entrance and pick up the Small Medipack.

Secret #2 - Go to the far left corner of the area behind the pillars (as shown in this screenshot) and climb into the opening. Pick up the Small Medipack and Shotgun Ammo and return back.

Jump into the pool. Swim through the opening in the floor and use the lever to open a gate at the end of the tunnel. It will start closing, so quickly swim to pass through it. [Checkpoint]

Room with pool and ledges - Swim to the far right corner of the pool and get the Large Medipack from the bottom. Climb out of the water and locate the decorative scarab to the left of the entrance. Jump to grab it and quickly jump to grab the crevice above. Jump to grab the platform on the right and pull up. The platform will start sliding into the wall, so run to the right and jump to the opposite platform. Jump to grab the crevice ahead, then the one on the left. Wait for the platform to come back outside, jump backwards and onto the platform, run and jump to grab the decorative scarab on the right. Quickly jump to grab the crevice above before the scarab slides back down. Jump to grab the ledge on the right and pull up.

Go up the steps and drop into the right hand pit where you will find a Small Medipack. Climb back up and jump to grab the vertical structure. Climb to the top and jump to grab the decorative scarab. Quickly jump to grab the crevice above, then the next one. Jump to land on the vertical structure and jump to grab the vertical pole. Jump to the alcove in front of the barred window and pick up the Large Medipack and Caliber Pistol Ammo. Jump back to grab the vertical pole and then jump to the opening. Pick up the Caliber Pistol Ammo and use the switch to make a platform in the previous room slide into the wall and let a block fall down. [Checkpoint]

Carefully make your way down and return to the room with the pool. [Checkpoint] Drop to the platform below and push/ pull the movable block to the other side of the platform (as shown in this screenshot). Climb on the block and jump to grab the crevice in the wall, then the next one. Jump to grab the platform behind you and pull up. Again, the platform will start sliding inside the wall, so quickly jump to its next part, then jump to grab the decorative scarab. Quickly jump to grab the crevice above. Jump to grab the decorative scarab on the right and quickly jump to grab the crevice above. Jump to grab the next crevice, then the horizontal pole behind you. Swing and jump to grab the ledge; pull up.

Use the Grapple to catch the ring of the door on the opposite side. Pull it to fully open it (90 degrees). When you do that, Lara de-catches the ring automatically. Quickly jump to grab the gold ring on the ceiling, swing once (let Lara swing away from your screen once) and jump to the door before it closes. Use the switch to re-open the door and also open the trapdoors at the top of the room. [Checkpoint] Jump to grab the ledge of the right hand door, then the next one above. Jump to grab the horizontal pole behind you, swing and jump to grab the other trapdoor. Pull into the room above and use the switch to open the trapdoors around the cat statue. Approach the opening. [Checkpoint]

Artifact #2 - Before dropping down, notice the gold ring on the left hand wall (as shown here). Jump to grab it with your Grapple and perform the wall run to reach the crevice in the wall. Jump to grab the gold ring on the ceiling behind you and turn around. Notice the other two gold rings. Use them to reach the top of the temple of the cat. Pick up the Artifact and make your way to the ground.

Room with central pillar - You can kill the two crocodiles from the ledges around the cat statue. Jump to grab the pillar of the statue and climb to the bottom. Slide down the slope and follow the passage to reach a room with a central pillar. [Checkpoint] Pick up the two Caliber Pistol Ammo's from the two corners and drop to the lower ledge. Kill the black panther from here and carefully drop down. Three black panthers will exit from the small room on the left, so kill them. [Checkpoint] Enter the room they came from and pick up the Large Medipack. Exit and go to the gate on the other side. The two black panthers will get released once you use the switch and open the gate, so draw weapons and kill them. [Checkpoint]

Climb up the two crevices to the left of the gate and jump to grab the latter. Quickly jump to grab the ledge behind you, then the next one above. Jump to grab the ledge on the right and let it fully rotate. Jump to grab the crevice on the left, then the next one above. Jump to grab the ledge of the central pillar and pull up.

Secret #3 - Turn left and shoot the button on the opposite wall. This will lower a gold ring from a small opening in the ceiling. [Checkpoint] Jump to catch it with your Grapple and jump to the opposite ledge. Pick up the Large Medipack and Caliber Pistol Ammo and swing back to the ledge of the central pillar.

Go to the other side and through the opening. Follow the passage to the next room with your weapons drawn. [Checkpoint] Kill the black panther and enter the room. The camera will focus on a part of the ceiling, which indicates that something will happen there later. Climb into the opening opposite the entrance and climb up the ladder. Draw weapons and kill the mummy that attacks. There is a mechanical scarab in the room, but you cannot do anything with it at the moment. Go to the back right corner of the room and climb up the stone blocks to get some Caliber Pistol Ammo and a Large Medipack.

Artifact #3 - From the block you got the Medipack, jump to grab the gold ring on the wall. Do not perform the wall run. Instead, stop swinging and climb up the Grapple line until you reach the bottom of the barred window. Jump to land on the vertical structure behind you and then jump to grab the thin pillar on your left (as shown in this screenshot). There two more same thin pillars on your right. Use them to reach the crevice in the wall. From there, jump to grab the gold ring on the wall and perform the wall run to reach the ledge. Pick up the Artifact and carefully make your way down.

Go through the opening and climb up the ladder. The passage gets you back to the room with the six huge statues. [Checkpoint] Use the switch to make the statues slide forward, revealing some stone blocks at the top. The statues will start sliding back, so quickly jump to the first block and make a "zig-zag" procedure to jump from block to block until you reach the ledge at the other side. Go to the left and pick up the Large Medipack. Follow the passage and use the switch to remove two sticks from the mechanical scarab and make the statues slide forward, this time permanently. [Checkpoint]

Return back to the room with the mechanical scarab the same way you came. Again, climb on the stone blocks in the corner and use the Grapple to catch the gold ring on the wall. Climb up the Grapple line until you reach the bottom of the barred window and jump to land on the vertical structure. This time, jump to the next vertical structure on the right, then jump to grab the crevice in the wall. Traverse to the left and jump to grab the horizontal pole of the mechanical scarab. Lara's weight will balance the scale and this will open a trapdoor, dumping the sand to the room below. Release the pole. [Checkpoint]

Obelisk puzzle - Using the ledges of the trapdoors, drop to the sand. Climb into the opening and follow the passage to reach a room with the four obelisks and eight movable blocks. [Checkpoint] The door opposite the entrance is the exit and will open once you solve the puzzle. To solve it, you have to rotate the four obelisks to the correct position. The latter is shown in the side rooms behind the movable blocks. We will start from the block to the right of the door and move clockwise.

Pull the first block and quickly climb on it. A black panther will exit from the side room, so kill it from above. Turn to see the obelisks and notice the that the first one from the left (assuming the entrance is to your back) has been raised (as shown here). If the obelisk is still down, it means that the movable box is still on the gray square in front of the entrance of the side room (this screenshot shows the wrong position of the box; it is still on the gray square, even half of it, and the obelisk is down). The obelisk that has been raised is "connected" to the side room. Enter the room and pick up the Shotgun Ammo. The hieroglyphic shows an Egyptian that holds two white glasses, so exit and go to the obelisk you raised. Rotate it, so that the same painting reaches the line on the floor (as shown in this screenshot). You will know that that you have rotated the obelisk correctly when you hear a soft "locking-sound".

The side room behind the second block does not include or show anything, so do not bother with it, unless you want to see everything. Pull the third block to raise the second from the right obelisk. Enter the room behind. The hieroglyphic shows an Egyptian that holds a green glass, so exit and rotate the obelisk so that the same painting reaches the line on the floor. Again, you will know that that you have rotated the obelisk correctly when you hear a soft "locking-sound". Pull the fourth block and enter the room to get some Shotgun Ammo. Exit and pull the fifth block. Enter the room behind, pick up the Caliber Pistol Ammo and exit.

Pull the sixth block to raise the second from the left obelisk. Quickly climb on the block because a black panther emerges from inside the room. Kill it and enter the room. The hieroglyphic shows an Egyptian that holds a blue vase. Exit and go to the obelisk. You will see that the painting is already above the line, so you do not have to rotate it. Pull the seventh block and enter the side room to get some Caliber Pistol Ammo. Exit and pull the eighth block to raise the first from the right obelisk. The hieroglyphic shows an Egyptian that holds a female figure. Exit and rotate the obelisk so the same painting reaches the line on the floor. When you do everything correctly, the exit door opens.

Relic - Before leaving, let's go for a Secret. Position the first block you used to the left of the pillar (as shown in this screenshot). Climb on the block and jump to grab the crevice in the pillar, then the next one above. Traverse around the two corners and jump to grab the ledge behind you. Jump to grab the crevice of the next pillar and traverse around the corner. Jump to grab the above crevice and then jump on the first obelisk. Jump from obelisk to obelisk until you reach the last one. From there, jump to grab the crevice in the pillar, traverse around the corner and release to grab the lower crevice. Shimmy to the right and pull into the room. Pick up the Large Medipack and Mummified Cat .

Drop to the ground and go through the exit to end the level.

Level 10: Obelisk of Khamoon

Kills: 7
Supplies: 22
Artifacts: 4
Relics: 0
Additional Secrets: 0

[Checkpoint] Room with pool and obelisk - The level begins where the previous one left you. Go up the ramp to reach a room with an obelisk in the middle and four raised bridges. Go to the right and pick up the Small Medipack behind the pillar. Use the switch to lower one of the bridges (the closest to you) that gives access to first of the four pieces you are looking for. [Checkpoint] Go there and get the Eye of Horus from the niche. [Checkpoint]

Cross back the bridge and go to the right. Grab the ladder and climb to the bottom. Pick up the Caliber Pistol Ammo and jump into the water. Climb out using the ledge at the other side and pick up the Small Medipack. Jump into the water again and climb into the opeing. Follow the passage to a wall that opens and closes. [Checkpoint] When the wall opens, run past it. Continue through the passage and negotiate the next two sets of wall traps. Be careful when you reach the second, because it has double sets!

Room with ledges and pillars/ Going to the top of the room - Enter the next room with the broken stairs on the right. [Checkpoint] Go behind them and pick up the Shotgun Ammo. Climb to the top of the stairs and jump to grab the ankh symbol. It will slide down and this will make a pillar (which is exactly behind you) lower. Jump back to the stairs and run to the now low pillar. When it goes up, jump to grab the horizontal pole on the left. Swing and jump to grab the crevice ahead. Jump to grab the next two above, then the ledge behind you. The latter will start sliding into the wall, so quickly pull up, jump to the next part and then to the safe ledge in the corner. Turn right and jump to grab the platform in the middle. Pull up;

Artifact #1 - Jump to grab the ledge at the opposite side. Go behind the rocks and take a mental note of the switch. This extends a pole higher in the room, which leads to the first Artifact. However, it is timed and you have 90 seconds to make it there before the pole slides back inside. So, you have to go up once and learn the way, then get back here, use the switch and start the running. Below is the description of how you can get to the top of the room. Once you get the Artifact, the pole extends so you can return back. [Checkpoint] (This video shows the timed run.)

Return back to the platform in the middle. Turn left and jump to the next ledge. Grab the crevice of the pillar, then the next one. Traverse around the corner and jump to grab the top of the next pillar. Do not pull up, because the darts will get you. Traverse to the other side of the pillar and jump to grab the crevice of the third pillar. Traverse to the right around one corner and jump to grab the sloped part of the pillar above. From there, jump to grab the ledge on the right, then the horizontal pole. Swing and jump to the ledge ahead. [Checkpoint]

Go to the other side of the ledge and climb up the two crevices. Jump to grab the square ledge behind you and, before it slides back, quickly pull up and jump to grab the opposite ledge. Traverse to the right past the pillar and pull up. Hang from the other side and shimmy left. Jump to grab the crevice of the pillar and traverse around the corner. Jump to grab the crevice of the pillar behind you and release to grab the ledge below. Shimmy around the corner and pull up.

Jump to grab the crevice in the wall. To make sure you will grab the crevice, run close to the wall and jump at the edge (as shown in this screenshot). Then jump to grab the next crevice on the left. Shimmy to the very left and jump to grab with your Grapple the gold ring on the wall. Perform the wall run and jump to grab the crevice in the opposite wall. Traverse to the left and jump to grab the next crevice. Again, traverse to the end and jump to grab the top of the pillar behind you. Do not pull up, because the darts will get you. Traverse to the other side and jump to grab the crevice of the next pillar. Jump to grab the one above and traverse around one corner. Jump to grab the top of the pillar and pull up. Turn right, jump to grab the crevice of the opposite pillar, then the ledge above; pull up. If you are in the process of getting the Artifact, you should see a pole on the right. Jump to grab the horizontal pole on the left, swing and jump to the ledge in front of the doorway. Pick up the Large Medipack from the left. [Checkpoint]

At the top of room - Go through the opening and up the ramp with your weapons drawn. A mummy will attack, so back up and kill it. Enter the room and approach the pit. Climb down the ladder and go to the other side of the pit, where you will find a Small Medipack and some Shotgun Ammo. Return back and climb up the ladder. The two horizontal poles slide down when you grab them, so you need to be quick and grab the decorative scarab beyond. As always, the latter will slide down, so quickly jump to grab the crevice above. If you have troubles with this procedure, once you grab the first pole, start tapping the Jump button. That way, Lara will swing on the poles once and when she grabs the scarab, she will jump up and grab the crevice. Shimmy left and jump to the bottom of the stairs. Go up them and pass the two sets of closing walls. You are back in the room with the pool and obelisk, this time a little bit higher. [Checkpoint]

Back to the room with the obelisk - Turn right and use the crevices in the wall to reach the horizontal pole. Swing and jump to the ledge ahead. Use the switch to lower the second bridge and open a gate exactly behind you. [Checkpoint] Do not go down for the piece! If you do it, you will have to take the long route back by passing through the room with ledges and pillars. Once you lower all bridges, you can go down and get the pieces. Jump back to grab the pole and return to the ledge you came from (after passing the wall traps). Use the crevices in the other wall to reach the ledge with the gate you just opened.

Passage with rotating blades - Go through the opening and follow the passage that leads to a pair of rotating blades. When they go insde the wall, run past them. The pit does not contain anything, so once the rotating blades go inside the wall, jump to grab the pole and quickly swing and jump to the opposite side. Follow the passage to the next room. [Checkpoint]

Room with slope and ledges - If you take a look below, you will be able to spot the Artifact on a stone block, but you cannot get it now. There is a ring on the wall above the Artifact and a slot on the left wall (a ring will come out from there later). Slide down the slope to reach the ground. Immediately draw weapons and kill the mummy that attacks. [Checkpoint] Pick up the Shotgun Ammo and enter the small room opposite the slope to get a Small Medipack. You will find one more in the left alcove. Climb into the right hand alcove and use the switch. This will covert the slopes into climbable blocks, open a gate that leads to the next part of the level and a smaller one that gives access to a movable block. [Checkpoint] These are what the camera showed you. The switch you just used also extended a ring from the slot of the wall you saw before and made another ring come down from the ceiling at the top of the room.

Going up - Pull the block out of the alcove. Go inside and pick up the Small Medipack. Exit and climb on the block. Climb up the two crevices in the wall and jump to grab with your Grapple the gold ring on the wall. Perform the wall run to reach the ledge on the right. Or, climb up the Grapple line and press Jump to release the Grapple and grab the ledge behind (thanks to jackles for the hint). Go around it and climb up the two blocks where you will find some Mini SMG Ammo and a Small Medipack. Drop back down and go to the other side. Climb up the two crevices and wait for the rotating blades on the left to enter the alcove. Then jump to grab with your Grapple the gold ring on the wall and, once you perform the wall run, jump to grab the decorative scarab on the left. Quickly jump to grab the crevice above. Again, wait for the rotating blades on the left to enter the alcove. Then jump to grab with your Grapple the gold ring on the wall and, once you perform the wall run, jump to grab the crevice above the one you came from. Jump to grab the crevice above and perform once again the wall run to reach the block on the right, avoiding this time two rotating blades. [Checkpoint]

Back at the top - Turn to face the blocks downwards and jump to grab the gold ring on the left hand wall. Perform the wall run and when Lara reaches the highest point to the right (if the camera is perpendicular to the wall), press Jump and the down direction key to grab the ring on the next wall.* Do not drop down for the Artifact. If you do that, you will have to pass through the rotating blades again. Instead, perform the wall run to grab the square ledge in the corner. Climb up the two crevices and then jump to grab the ledge in front of the opening on the left. Go through the opening and follow the passage that gets you back to the room with the obelisk. Use the switch to lower the third bridge. Do not drop down yet. Instead, return back to the opening you came from.

(*Note: This is the same kind of jump like in Damocles room of St. Francis Folly, only this time you have to grab a second ring instead of grabbing/ landing on a ledge.)

Artifact #2 - Ignore the ring on the ceiling and turn left. Jump to grab the crevices you came from and drop to the square ledge in the corner. Jump to grab with your Grapple the ring you used before and climb down the Grapple line. Drop down and pick up the Artifact. Carefully, make your way to the ground.

Back to the room with the obelisk - Go through the gate and follow the passage to the traps. [Checkpoint] Pass the wall that opens and closes and jump on the first vertical structure. Wait for the rotating blades to slide inside the wall and jump to the second structure. Wait for the wall to open, jump on the third structure and quickly jump to the opposite side. Follow the passage to return back to the room with the obelisk. Pick up the Small Medipack, cross the bridge and get the Seal of Anubis. [Checkpoint] Cross back the bridge and use the two horizontal poles on the left (as you return back) to get to the opposite ledge. Pick up the Shotgun Ammo and Small Medipack (this bridge is still up) and use the next two horizontal poles to reach the third bridge. Pick up the Small Medipack and cross the bridge to get the Ankh of Isis. [Checkpoint]

Turn around, go through the opening and follow the passage to the next traps. The two rotating blades move at an opposite direction, but you do not have to make a special maneuver. Simply crouch beneath them. Jump on the vertical structure and jump to grab the ledge ahead. Pull up and pass the wall that goes up and down. To clear the next wall that opens and closes, jump on the vertical structure when the wall is closed. Until you reach the structure, the wall will have opened. Then jump to the opposite side. Folow the passage to the next room. [Checkpoint]

Room with ledges, mummies and dog statue at the bottom (and possible rotating blades) - If you take a look below, you will see three mummies waiting for you. On the left is an ankh symbol. DO NOT USE IT!!! This will activate several rotating blades, making your next task more difficult to complete. If you have already used it, you can still go on, but you have to be very careful with the blades. Jump on the pillar to the left and use its ledges to get to a platform halfway down the room. You may have troubles aiming at the mummies, so jump to grab with your Grapple the gold ring on the left hand wall and perform the wall run to land on the block in the corner. Kill the mummies from here and notice the Artifact in the opposite alcove. You cannot get it now, so drop to the ground and climb up the ledges at the other side to reach the doorway beneath the entrance. [Checkpoint]

Go through it and follow the passage. There are two sets of rotating blades; one above the other that move at an opposite direction. When the lower ones come to your side, start following them. Roll under the upper blades and as the lower ones approach you, jump over them. The next trap includes three walls that open and close; one after the other. When the first wall closes, jump to the vertical structure. Until you reach it, the wall will have opened. Jump to the second structure (the wall should be open by now), then to the third one. Finally, jump to grab the ledge ahead. Shimmy to the either left or right, wait for the rotating blade to move to the other side and pull onto the upper ledge. The passage gets you to the switch that lowers the last bridge. [Checkpoint] Return back to the room the same way you came.

Artifact #3 - As you return back, turn right and jump to grab the stone block in the corner. Pull up and jump to grab the crevice. Shimmy left, release to grab the crevice below and again shimmy left. Jump to grab the crevice above, but do not pull onto the ledge above. Instead, traverse around the corner and jump to grab the crevice of the pillar on the left (as shown in this screenshot). Traverse around the corner and pull into the alcove to get the Artifact.

Drop to the ground and, again, climb up the ledges to reach the ledge in front of the opening you came. For a second time, jump to the stone block in the corner and use the crevices. This time, pull onto the ledge above. Vault onto the low block and grab the crevice above. Traverse to the left and jump to grab the next ledge. Pull up, grab the crevice and climb on the ledge above. Follow the hallway around to the left and as soon as you exit at the other side, draw weapons. A mummy will attack from the passage you came from, so kill it. Climb up the two crevices and jump to grab the square ledge behind you. Use the Grapple to catch the gold ring on the wall and perform the wall run to reach the opposite ledge. Pick up the Large Medipack and Shotgun Ammo.

Artifact #4 - Catch the gold ring again and perform the wall run to reach the ledge opposite the ring. You may have to climb up a bit the Grapple line before jumping. To make sure Lara will grab the ledge behind, climb up/ down the Grapple line so she will not pass the vertical painted column on the right when she reaches the highest point* (as shown in this screenshot). Once there, jump to grab the crevice in the wall. The horizontal pole will slide down once you grab it, so be prepared to quickly jump to the opposite ledge. Pick up the Caliber Pistol Ammo and the Artifact.

[*Note: Many people encounter problems when they jump from the wall in order to grab the ledge behind, and this part can end up really frustrating since the last Checkpoint was made at the bottom of the room. You have to gain the desired momentum, so once you jump off the wall, Lara will reach the ledge. This screenshot shows where Lara must be at her highest point to the right when she wall-runs. Once there, press Down and Jump (assuming the camera is behind Lara and perpendicular to the wall) to grab the ledge behind.]

Back to the room with the obelisk - Drop to the square ledge below (the one you came from) and then to the ledge below. Grab the first crevice and traverse around the corner. To the left you can see the Ankh symbol. Do not release for the lower crevice. Instead, jump to directly grab the blocks close to the entrance (as shown in this screenshot); pull up. If you cannot do that, you have to make your way to the ground, climb on the block opposite the alcove with the Artifact #3, use the ring on the wall and perform the wall run to reach the opposite ledge, and finally climb to the entrance. Return back to the room with the obelisk, passing once more through the traps. When you exit, cross the bridge in front of you and jump to the one on the left. Get the Scarab of Osiris. When you get all pieces, the gate in the pool opens.

Once you have all pieces - Drop into the pool and swim through the gate. The tunnel gets you to another pool, so climb out of the water and pick up the Small Medipack and Mini SMG Ammo. Use the switch to make one of the six statues slide back so that you can return back. [Checkpoint] Climb up the ladder to return to the room with the six statues. [Checkpoint] Go to the right and through the opening on the left. Follow the passage to return back to the City of Khamoon, specifically in the area with the Sphinx. A centaur will attack from the right, so stay sharp. Once he is history, go to the Obelisk and place the four artifacts in the receptacles to open the exit door and end the level.

Level 11: Sanctuary of the Scion

Kills: 24 (28 if you re-visit two ledges, high in the area with the Sphinx)
Supplies: 10 (plus a pair of Mini SMGs)
Artifacts: 2
Relics: 1
Additional Secrets: 1

[Checkpoint] The level begins where the previous one left you. Go through the doors you opened by placing the four artifacts an up the stairs. Draw weapons and kill the two mummies that attack. Once you are done, enter the room with the four small obelisks. At the back, you will find some Shotgun Ammo and a Small Medipack.

Obelisk puzzle - If you check the hieroglyphics on the walls, you will see that they are mirrored. You have to turn the four obelisks and make the same paintings face each other (mirror them). The paintings that have to face each other must be the inner ones (as shown in this screenshot). There are four paintings on each obelisk, so you have to mirror four sets. It is not necessary to follow the position of the hieroglyphics on the walls. For example, the right hand wall (as you enter) shows two blue vases. This does not mean that the right hand obelisks must mirror the blue vases. To solve the puzzle, turn obelisks #1 and #3 twice (back right and far left ones if the entrance is to your back). The direction does not matter. When you do it correctly, a pillar rises up.

Once you solve the puzzle - Climb up the pillar to the top and use the ledges and ladder to reach the passage above. Follow it to a pit with traps. [Checkpoint] Jump on the pillar when the wall is closed. Until you reach it, the wall will have opened. Quickly jump to grab the crevice on the left, then the one above. You are familiar by now to the decorative scarabs slide down once you grab them, aren't you? Jump to grab the decorative scarab on the right and quickly jump to grab the one behind you. Quickly jump to grab the crevice above. Wait for the wall to open and jump to grab the crevice beyond, then the ledge behind. Follow the passage to the next area. [Checkpoint]

Area with Sphinx - What you see in front of you is the back side of a Sphinx. You can also see an opening and a switch on each side, but you cannot reach any of these at the moment. Climb down the left hand ladder and drop to the ground. Pick up the Shotgun and Caliber Pistol Ammo's and head to the front side of the Sphinx. If the two rats have already reached you, kill them; otherwise, do it after the brief cut scene. If the rats do not appear at all, make sure you have crossed the part between the long and short ladders (this part is outlined in this screenshot)

The brief cut scene gives a glimpse of the front side of the Sphinx.

With the Sphinx to your back, go to the far left corner where you will find a Large Medipack. Return back and climb up the ladder opposite the Sphinx. Here you have the option of going left and right. You have to visit both ways and it does not matter which one you follow first.

Left hand way of the ladder - Jump to grab the ledge on the left, then jump to land on the broken stairs. Jump to the next stairs and vault onto the low block. [Checkpoint] Climb up the next two ledges and slide down the slope. Jump to grab the ledge ahead and pull up. Follow the walkway until you reach the third pillar on the left. Use its crevices to reach the second pillar and again use the crevices to reach the third pillar. Climb to the topmost crevice and jump to grab the handhold on the wall behind you. Climb up the rest handholds to reach the top.

Draw weapons! Two flying mutants that throw fireballs attack, so kill them. Be careful, because the fireballs can push you off the edge. Go to the other side of the ledge and jump to grab the horizontal pole. Jump to grab the next one, then the crevice ahead. Traverse around the two corners and jump to the ledge behind you. Carefully make your way down and use the switch to raise a platform between the stairs next to you, so you can have a direct access here. [Checkpoint]

(Note: If, for some reason, you visit again the ledge where the two flying mutants attacked after loading the above Checkpoint, two more will show up.)

Left hand opening (if the entrance is to your back) - Go through the opening and follow the passage to a set of crashing stone blocks. When they open, run past them. You reach a second set of crashing stone blocks, but this time they are bigger. The time that is given is not enough to make it accross by jumping on the ledges, but there is a gap between the stones when Lara lands on the ledges. So, every time you jump on a ledge, crouch to avoid the stones. Follow the passage to reach the next room. [Checkpoint]

[Note: The completion of the next part (that includes the usage of four vertical panels) can be done in one round without dropping to the pool during the process. The walkthrough covers this procedure, but if you accidentally fall into the water, you can still use the rest panels by making more jumps and climbings. This video shows the "one round". If you want to watch a better quality (8 MB), click here.]

Room with upside-down obelisk - The stairs on the right lead to a switch, but you cannot do anything with it at the moment, so jump into the pool. Pick up the Small Medipack from the bottom and climb out of the water using the low ledge. You can see four small obelisks in the pool and you need to raise them. Vault on the broken ledge and jump to grab the handhold of the vertical stone panel (as shown in this screenshot) and keep jumping up until you reach the topmost one. Lara's weight will lower the panel, raising the obelisk behind you at the same time. When the panel reaches the bottom, it will get locked. The camera shows you that this procedure also extends a ledge above the pool.

Climb up the obelisk you just raised (there are handholds you can use) and jump to grab the small square ledge behind you. Jump to grab the crevice on the right, then the next vertical panel. Jump to grab the topmost handhold and wait until the panel reaches the bottom and gets locked. The obelisk behind you has been raised and the ledge above the pool has been extended more. Jump to grab the obelisk behind you and traverse around the corner. Jump to grab the ledge that has been extended and pull up (see this screenshot to get oriented).

Notice the gold ring on the left hand wall. Use the Grapple to catch it and perform the wall run to reach the crevice of the opposite wall. From there, jump to grab the third vertical panel and climb to the top (the above procedure is shown in this screenshot). Again, wait until it reaches the bottom and gets locked. The obelisk behind you has been raised and the ledge above the pool has been extended even more. Jump to grab the obelisk behind you and traverse around the corner. Jump to grab the extended ledge and pull up.

Go to the other side of the extended ledge and jump to the ledge in front of the closed door. From there, you can jump and grab the horizontal pole on the left (as you face the closed door see this screenshot). This and the next one slide down when you grab them, so quickly jump to grab the crevice in the wall. From there, release to grab the lower one and then jump to grab the fourth vertical panel. Climb to the topmost handhold and wait until the panel reaches the bottom and gets locked. The obelisk behind you has been raised and the camera will show that the ledge extends even more, creating a bridge. It then focuses on the switch at the top of the room.

(Note: If you fall into the water before using the fourth panel, climb out of the water using the low ledge. Climb up the first obelisk you raised and jump to the small square ledge behind you. From there, jump to the crevice on the left, then jump to grab the ladder. There are four horizontal poles on your left which slide down when you grab them, so you have to be quick and jump from pole to pole until you reach the crevice at the other side.)

Going back to the top of the room - Drop into the pool and climb out of the water. Climb up the first obelisk you raised and jump to the small square ledge behind you. From there, jump to the crevice on the left, then jump to grab the ladder. Climb up as much as you can and jump to grab the left ladder. Again, climb up as much as you can and jump to grab the right hand ladder. Climb to the top and jump to grab the crevice on the left, then the next one. Jump to the safe ledge and go down the stairs; use the switch.

The cut scene shows the upside-down obelisk to lower. It throws an energy light to all four pillars, which opens the door at the end of the bridge.

[Checkpoint] You can get to the bridge by either going down the ledges or dropping on it directly from here (losing health). Cross the bridge and enter the room. The door closes behind you and a mutant attacks. Kill it and get the Ankh Key #1 from the pedestal. On getting the Key, the door opens. This also opens the gate above the pool. [Checkpoint]

Back to the area with the Sphinx - Drop into the pool and climb into the opening. Follow the passage to return back to the area with the Sphinx. Draw weapons, because a centaur is waiting for you outside. He is lurking at the front side, so stay sharp.

Right way of the ladder - Climb up the ladder opposite the Sphinx. This time, jump to grab the crevice on the right, then the next two poles that get you to the broken stairs. [Checkpoint] The right hand way does not lead anywhere, so climb up the ladder. Climb on the stone block to the left and pick up the Shotgun Ammo and Large Medipack. Drop back down and follow the walkway. Jump to grab the crevice in the wall, then the next one. To make sure Lara will grab the crevice, run and jump close to the wall. Jump to grab the ledge and pull up. Carefully, drop to the walkway below. Facing the Sphinx, approach the right hand pillar. Use its crevices to reach the top. Immediately draw weapons! Two flying mutants attack and their fireballs can throw you down, so quickly get rid of them.

Secret - Take a look at the top of the Sphinx' head. The item you see is a pair of Mini SMGs. To get there, jump off the edge and use the Grapple to catch the ring on the ceiling. Swing and jump to the head. Pick up the guns and use the Grapple again to swing back to the ledge you came from.

Jump to grab the horizontal pole, swing and jump to grab the opposite ledge. Carefully, make your way down and use the switch to raise a platform between the stairs next to you, so you can have a direct access here. [Checkpoint]

(Note: If, for some reason, you visit again the ledge where the two flying mutants attacked after loading the above Checkpoint, two more will show up.)

Right hand opening (if the entrance is to your back) - Go through the opening and follow the passage to the next pit. There are two walls that open and close and two horizontal poles between them. The first one however slides back in and then out again, so you have to be rather quick. The pole extends when the first wall is about to close, but this is the best time to jump and grab it, because if you hesitate, you will not have time to complete the process. Once you grab the first pole, keep swinging and jump to grab the second pole when the second wall opens. Quickly jump to grab the opposte ledge. If the first pole slides back in and you fall down, you can climb back up and try again. Follow the passage to reach the next room. [Checkpoint]

[Note: The completion of the next part (that includes the usage of four vertical panels) can be done in one round, dropping into the pool once during the process. IMPORTANT: To avoid backtracking, the panel beneath the entrance (back left corner) must be done either second, as it will be desribed below, or first (by going first for the Artifact and then jumping for the panel). This video shows the "one round". If you want to watch a better quality (8 MB), click here.

If you do not make either way, you will have to do the following: Lower the far left panel and make your way to the extended ledge by using the raised obelisk. Use your Grapple to catch the ring of the panel (as shown in this screenshot) and pull it to make the panel go up. Jump to grab the horizontal pole, swing and jump to grab the crevice ahead. From the topmost crevice, jump to grab the handhold of the panel. Lara's weight will make it go down, so quickly jump to grab the handhold above, then the crevice on the left. From there, jump to grab the panel beneath the entrance (the above procedure is shown in this screenshot). After lowering this panel, all others can be done without problems.]

Room with upside-down obelisk - The room looks familiar and once again you have to first raise the four obelisks in the water before using the switch. Turn right and jump to grab the crevice in the wall, then the next one. Jump to grab the ladder and climb to the bottom. Jump to grab the right hand ladder and again climb to the bottom. From there, jump to grab the crevice on the left, then release to grab the lower one. Jump to grab the handhold of the vertical panel and keep jumping up until you reach the topmost one. Lara's weight will lower the panel, raising the obelisk behind you. When the panel reaches the bottom, it will get locked. The camera shows you that this procedure also extends a ledge above the pool.

Jump to grab the obelisk you just raised and climb to the top. Jump to the small square ledge behind you and jump to grab the crevice on the right, then the one above (as shown in this screenshot). There are four horizontal poles behind you that slide down when you grab them. So, be quick and jump from pole to pole until you reach the crevice at the other side. Jump to grab the second vertical panel and climb to the top. Wait until it reaches the bottom and gets locked. The obelisk behind you has been raised and the ledge above the pool has been extended more.

Drop into the pool and climb out of the water using the square ledge. Jump to land on the obelisk and jump to grab the crevice ahead, then the next one. Jump to grab the third vertical panel and climb to the top. Wait until it reaches the bottom and gets locked. The obelisk behind you has been raised and the ledge above the pool has been extended even more. Jump to grab the obelisk behind you and climb to the top. Traverse around the corner and jump to grab the extended ledge; pull up. Jump to grab the horizontal pole, swing and jump to grab the crevice ahead. Jump to grab the fourth vertical panel, climb to the topmost handhold and wait until the panel reaches the bottom and gets locked. The obelisk behind you has been raised and the camera will show that the ledge extends even more, creating a bridge. It then focuses on the switch at the top of the room.

Going back to the top of the room - Jump to grab the obelisk behind you and traverse around the corner. Jump to grab the bridge and pull up. Go to the end and turn to face the left pair of poles. Use them to reach the crevice in the wall. Climb up the rest crevices and jump to grab the ladder. Climb to the top and jump to grab the next ladder. Climb to the top and jump to grab the crevice on the right, then the next one. Jump to the safe ledge and go down the stairs. use the switch.

The cut scene shows the upside-down obelisk to lower. It throws an energy light to all four pillars, which opens the door at the end of the bridge.

Artifact #1 - Go back up the stairs and once again, make your way down. When you reach the bottom of the second ladder, jump to grab the sill of the doorway (as shown in this screenshot). Traverse to the right around the corner and drop down. Pick up the Artifact, grab the sill again and traverse back. Drop to the bridge.

When you enter the room, the door closes behind you and a mutant attacks. Kill it and get the Ankh Key #2 from the pedestal. On getting the Key, the door opens. This also opens the gate above the pool. [Checkpoint]

Back to the area with the Sphinx - Drop into the pool and climb out of the water. Go through the opening and follow the passage to return back to the area with the Sphinx. Draw weapons, because two centaurs are waiting for you outside. They are lurking at the front side, so stay sharp. Once they are dead, go up the stairs in front of the Shinx and use the two Keys to open the door. [Checkpoint]

Underneath the Sphinx Room with two huge statues - Go through the door and down the ramps, killing seven rats and picking up some Shotgun Ammo on your way. You reach a ledge above a pool with two huge statues. Pick up the Small Medipack and take a look at the other side to spot the opening. This is where you need to go, but the water's level cannot help you reach it. So, you have to find a way to raise the water level and reach the opening.

Jump into the pool and swim between the two statues. Dive down and swim to the bottom where you will find a lever. Pull it to lower the water's level until the statues' feet. Swim back and climb on the ledge of the right hand statue (as you return back). Ckimb on the stone block and jump to grab the next two crevices of the foot. Jump to grab the horizontal pole behind you and jump to grab the crevice of the other foot before the pole slides down. Traverse around the foot and jump to grab the gold ring on the wall. Perform the wall run and jump to grab the ledge on the other side. Pull up and climb up the ladder. Press Jump to leap off the ladder and grab the handhold behind you. Jump to grab the upper handhold, then the next one on the left. Jump to grab the next one above and traverse around the statue's hand.

First scarab puzzle - The four scarabs on the wall are mechanisms that rotate when you shoot them. The paintings on the floor show the position that the scarabs on the wall must have. Each scarab rotates 45 degrees; the left ones anticlockwise and the right ones clockwise. Soot the top left scarab four times, the bottom left twice, the bottom right four times and the top right twice (their correct position is shown in this screenshot). This will open the gate above. Climb into the alcove and use the switch to raise the water level until the statues' knees. [Checkpoint]

[Note (contains SPOILERS): What follows is a series of backtrackings in order to open a gate that leads to the Relic. Apart from climbing up and down the statues, you will also have to pass through a timed gate three times. The walkthrough below covers the normal procedure, but there is a shortcut you can take and completely avoid the timed gate and the block that you have to push down. If you want to take this shortcut, see this page and skip the next four paragraphs. Thanks to dinahcat for the shortcut.]

Drop back down and climb up the ladder. Jump to grab the crevice of the arm and traverse around. Jump to grab the crevice above, then the next two on the right. Shimmy to the end and jump to grab the horizontal pole behind you. Swing and jump to grab the opposite crevice. From there, jump to grab the ankh symbol. This will open a gate on the other statue, but it is timed. So, release to drop into the pool and quickly swim to reach the gate. It will be quicker if you swim on the surface and dive after reaching the front side of the statue. Once you pass through the gate, surface and climb out of the water. Then climb to the front side of the statue.

Opening the gate that leads to the Relic - (This screenshot shows the block and the ankh symbol that you will use in a while.) Notice the movable block on the ledge below. Push it to throw it in the water. Jump into the pool and swim between the statues. Once again, use the lever to lower the water level until the statues' feet. Swim back to the block and position it beneath the timed gate. Climb up the ledges of the other statue until you reach the ledge where you solved the scarab puzzle. Continue climbing up the ledges and crevices until you reach the ankh symbol that opens the timed gate. Once you grab it and open the gate, drop into the pool. Swim back and climb on the ledge of the statue that has the block. Climb on it and quickly pass through the gate before it closes. Use the crevices to reach the ledge above. Exit to the front side and drop to the ledge where the block initially was. Hang from the edge, shimmy to the right and release to grab the crevice of the foot. Traverse to the right and jump to grab the ankh symbol. This opens a gate on the same side of this statue.

Yet another time, climb up the ledges of the other statue until you reach the ledge where you solved the scarab puzzle. Use the switch again to raise the water level until the statue's knees. [Checkpoint] Drop back down and climb up the ladder. Once more, make your way to the ankh symbol that opens the timed gate. Once you grab it, drop to the pool and quickly make your way to the gate.

Second scarab puzzle - Once you pass the gate, notice the paintings on the floor. You will have to solve one more scarab puzzle after climb out of the water. Shoot the top left scarab twice, leave the bottom left as it is, shoot the bottom right twice and the top right four times (their correct position is shown in this screenshot). This will open the gate above, so climb into the opening and use the switch to raise the water level until the statues' arms. Swim outside and head to other statue. Swim through the opening (where you used the switch after solving the scarab puzzle) and climb out of the water. [Checkpoint]

Grab the decorative scarab and quickly jump to grab the crevice above. There are two horizontal poles behind you that slide down when you grab them, so quickly use them to reach the crevice at the other side. Then traverse around the corner and pull into the opening. Use the handholds on the right to reach the top. Go to the other side of the ledge and jump to grab the ankh symbol. This will raise the water level even more, making the ledge above accessible.

Relic - Before climbing there, do not forget the Relic. Swim to the gate you opened and get the Horus Idol. Swim back outside and surface. Climb out of the water using the square ledge.

(Note: You can go and get the Relic before raising the water level. If you are not fast enough and you keep drowing Lara, the Checkpoint will get you back to the room with the two horizontal poles. You can get the Relic first, then raise the water level.)

Room with pillars - Go through the opening and follow the passage to reach a room with many pillars. [Checkpoint] Two centaurs and two mummies will attack. Equip a powerful weapon and take the advantage of the bullet time to kill them quicker. If you have troubles with them, run back to the room with the statues and jump into the water. If you are lucky, a couple of the threats will follow you and fall into the water (as shown in this screenshot - thanks to bertys30 for the tip). This will not change your final statistics, since the game will count them as kills.

There is a closed door at the end of the room and a block on each side, where you have to use the two pieces of Scion you have found until now. To reach each block, you have to use the pillars' crevices, but before doing that, let's go for a Secret which is in an alcove at the far left of the room.

Artifact #2 - As you enter the room, start with the first redish pillar on the right. Use its crevices to reach the second redish pillar. From the topmost crevice, you have to jump and use the Grapple to grab the gold ring on the ceiling. From there, you have to swing and jump to grab the crevice of the fourth pillar on the left side of the room (assuming the entrance is to your back). From the topmost crevice, jump to grab the fifth pillar. From the middle crevice, jump to grab the crevice of the inner gray pillar. Climb to the topmost crevice and jump to the alcove with the Artifact; pick it up.

Do not drop down. Instead, jump to grab the pillar you came from. From the topmost crevice, jump to grab the fifth redish pillar you came from. Again, from the topmost crevice, jump to the nearby block (the left one if the entrance is to your back). Use the Scion of Qualopec to activate the mechanism and remove half of the bars that block the exit. [Checkpoint]

Drop down and go back to the entrance. Again, climb up the first pillar and use its crevices to reach the second pillar. From the topmost crevice, jump to grab the second inner gray pillar. Climb to the topmost crevice, traverse around and jump to grab with your Grapple the gold ring on the wall. You have to perform the wall run and jump to grab the fourth gray pillar. Once there, climb to the topmost crevice and jump to grab the fifth gray pillar. Again, climb to the topmost crevice and jump to grab the fifth redish pillar. Climb to the top and jump to grab the block. Pull up and use the Scion of Tihocan to activate the mechanism and remove the other half bars, thus opening the exit. Drop down and go throuhg it.

In the cut scene, Lara approaches the pedestal and grabs the piece of Scion. The place starts shaking, but a door opens at the other side. Lara manages to escape and when she exits, she fits all pieces together. Again, she receives a vision. It is the one she saw when she fit the first two pieces at the end of Tihocan. This time, the vision continues from where it was left. The two rulers ask the woman to defend herself for her actions in this council. The woman says that Atlantis is in ruin and everything must burn. Only then can the Seventh Age begin. For using her Scion against the other rulers, Tihocan punishes her and expels her from the sacred order of the three, and condemn her to shame in the frozen limbo of eternity.

When Lara awakes from the vision, Natla is standing next to her and grabs the Scion from her hands. A man grabs Lara from behind and two other takes her guns. While Natla examines the Scion, Lara recognizes her as the Queen of Atlantis and concludes that the Scion holds its history. She then asks Natla what the Seventh Age is. Natla assumes that Lara cannot get far in order to see. She then orders her men to kill her.

Be prepared for an Interactive cut scene. Press the correct buttons to save Lara from the men's shots.

When you save Lara from the threats, she jumps into the water. Once she surfaces, she watches a car leaving. She climbs out of the water, rides a bike and tries to reach the car. Natla and her men are already in a boat. Lara uses her Grapple to reach the boat, and once she climbs on it, she opens a hatch to get inside.

Level 12: Natla's Mines

Kills: 3
Supplies: 10 (plus the Shotgun, SMGs and Caliber Pistols)
Artifacts: 4
Relics: 1
Additional Secrets: 0

The cut scene shows Lara exiting from a hatch. She spots a small boat that heads towards a cave, so she jumps into the sea and follows it.

[Checkpoint] Pool with boat and waterfall - You begin the level weaponless, since the bad guys of the previous cut scene disarmed you, carrying only the Medipacks you have found until now and a round of Shotgun Ammo. So, apart from making your way out, you also need to find some guns.

Swim forward to reach a pool with a boat and a waterfall on the right. Swim behind the waterfall and climb into the tunnel. Follow it upwards to reach an opening above the pool. Jump to grab the horizontal pole, swing and jump to grab the ledge ahead. Jump to grab the next ledge on the left, then the rope behind you. You cannot swing on the rope, so release to drop to the metal box. Jump to the next hanging metal box and turn right. Jump to the stack of crates, pick up the Large Medipack and jump back to the hanging box you came from. Jump to grab the rope and, without turning at all, swing and jump to grab the crevice to the left of the waterfall. Traverse around the corner and jump to the ledge behind the fence. Follow the tunnel to the next area. [Checkpoint]

Area with control and glassed rooms - You reach an area with a control room to the left and a glassed one to the right. Follow the tracks to the left (if the entrance is to your back) to reach another area with a glassed room above and a fence to the right. [Checkpoint] Two rats are lurking here, but you cannot kill them. So, climb on the dump box and pick up the Red Fuse. Drop down and return back to the previous area.

Go up the stairs to enter the control room. Place the Red Fuse to its slot and push the button to move the hanging box above the glassed room, giving you the access to an opening behind. Return back and go to the glassed room. Locate the movable yellow box on the left and push it against the room. Climb on the box, then on the room.

Artifact #1 - Jump on the wooden structre of the fallen walkway, then to the next one (as shown in this screenshot). Jump to grab the narrow ledge ahead, then the next one on the left. Jump to grab the upper ledge, then the horizontal pole behind you. Swing and jump to the slope ahead. Before reaching the end, jump to grab the opposite walkway. Pull up and pick up the Artifact. Drop to the ground and make your way to the top of the glassed room the same way as you did before.

Jump into the opening and follow the passage around to the right. Its end will take you above the entrance of the area, so jump to the opposite opening. [Checkpoint] Follow the passage to the end and drop to the walkway below. [Checkpoint] Push the movable block and throw it to the ground. That way, you will not have to take the long route back if you accidentally fall down. Jump to grab the opposite walkway and pull up. Turn right and jump to grab the top of the fallen grating. Jump to grab the ledge of the ventilation unit, then the one above. Jump to grab the walkway on the left and pull up. Go to the other side and jump to the fallen walkway. Before reaching the end, jump to grab the walkway ahead. Pull up and jump to the next walkway.

Behind the fence - Go to the end of the walkway and hang from the edge. Drop to the metal ledge below and pick up the Green Fuse. Turn to face the pit and locate the ring beneath the small square metal ledge. Jump off the ledge and use the Grapple to catch the ring. Perform the wall run and when Lara reaches the highest point to the left, jump to grab the handhold behind you. Jump to grab the square metal ledge on the right and pull up. Climb up the ladder and jump to the left to exit the fenced area.

Return back to the control room and place the Green Fuse to its slot. Push the button to move the hanging box even further. Push the button of the Red Fuse again to make the box approach the stack of green boxes. Exit the control room and go down the stairs. Climb on the crates opposite the stairs and jump to the lower green box. Climb on the next box and pick up the Large Medipack. From there, jump to grab the hanging box and traverse to the left and around the corner. Hang from the middle of this side (you should see a vertical line on the box) and jump back to land on the walkway (as shown in this screenshot).

Inside the pit behind the fence - Enter the tunnel and on the T junction go to the right (the way ahead leads to a small square ledge, but do not go there). Climb down the ladder, then the next one. Approach the edge of the alcove and jump to grab the handhold ahead. Release to grab the lower handhold and drop to the ground. [Checkpoint] There is a rat here, so avoid it as much as you can. Go to the other side of the pit, where you will find the Blue Fuse.

Going up the pit - Climb on the metal box to the left and jump to grab the pipe when the steam goes off. Climb to the top, wait for the steam of the second pipe to go off, and jump to grab it. Climb to the top and jump to the small square ledge behind you. Notice the rotating mechanism ahead. Jump to grab it when the flat part faces you. Press the right direction key and wait for the mechanism to rotate until you reach the dump box. When it does so, jump to grab it. It will start rotating downwards, so quickly jump to grab the next dump box. Quickly shimmy to the right and jump to grab the bottom of the duct behind you.

Traverse around the corner and wait for the steam of the pipe behind you to go off. Jump to grab the pipe and climb up a bit. Wait for the second steam to go off, climb to the top and jump to grab the top of the duct behind you. Traverse around the corner and jump to grab the crevice behind. Shimmy to the right and climb to the alcove above. Turn around and jump to grab the edge of the alcove you came from. Pull up and climb up the ladder. Go to the other side of the passage and climb up the next ladder. On the T junction, the right hand way leads to the top of the pit, but you do not have to go there. Go to the left to return back to the area with the glassed room.

Back to the control room - Go up the stairs and enter the control room. Press the button of the Red and Green Fuses once. This move will make the hanging box return above the glassed room. Place the Blue Fuse to its slot and press the button. This will lower the hanging box, thus breaking the roof of the glassed room. Exit and, again, climb on the movable yellow box, then to the top of the glassed room. Drop into the room and get a pair of Pistols from the crate. Shoot the glass and exit.

[Note: There is a shortcut you can take after getting the Green Fuse and avoid going back to the control room, re-arranging the hanging box and making your way to the bottom of the pit with all these jumps. Once you get the Green Fuse, jump to grab with your Grapple the ring as you would normally do. Slide down the Grapple line as much as you can and take a look below. Notice the duct on the left. You have to perform the wall run, but without gaining much momentum. When Lara reaches the spot above the duct, release to grab its handhold (as shown in this screenshot). Make your way down and go to the other side of the pit, where you will find the Blue Fuse. The way up is the same, so once you reach the top, go to the control room. The Green Fuse is now useless. If you have not used it at all, the hanging box should be exatcly above the glassed room. But if you have used it, press its button again to make the box return above the glassed room. Place the Blue Fuse to its slot and push the button to lower the hanging box, thus breaking the roof of the glassed room.]

Getting two Secrets - Before proceeding with the level, let's go for a couple of Secrets. Follow the tunnel when you first entered this area to return back to the ledge next to the waterfall.

Artifact #2 - Drop into the pool and climb on the boat. Shoot the the top part of the rope to break it and release the boat. Turn around and wait for the boat to reach the corner of the left hand wall. It will stop for some seconds, so jump to grab the ledge, then the next one. Jump to grab the upper ledge, then the one behind you. Traverse around the corner and jump to grab the ledge above the alcove with the boxes. Drop down and pick up the Artifact from behind the box.

Relic - Jump into the pool and swim behind the waterfall. Climb into the tunnel and go up it to reach the opening above the pool. Shoot the ring that holds the right hand box. When the box falls down, its door opens and you hear the chime signaling the Secret. The other hanging box does not contain anything, so do not bother with it. Make your way down, enter the box and pick up the Chalice of Torment.

Back to the area with the glassed room - Make your way back to the area with the glassed room. Follow the tracks to the left and go to the area with the second glassed room which is high on the wall. If the two rats are close, kill them. Also, if you want all the kills, you can go down in the pit at any time and kill the rat down there. Bear in mind though that you will have to make your way to the top of the pit the same way as you did before. Shoot the room's windows and go to the right. Climb on the box and jump to grab the ledge above. Traverse to the left, pull into the room and use the button to move the engine car. Drop down and approach the back side of the car. Climb on it and use it to move it along the tracks and take it back to the previous area.

In the cut scene, Lara returns back to the area with the glassed room, only to find that the tracks are blocks by the hanging box. She gets off the car and Larson appears from around the crates, holding the Blue Fuse. Larson tells her that this is the end of the line, but Lara asks him to quit since this has nothing to do with him. Larson replies the same to Lara and tells her that the Scion belongs to Natla and she (Lara) got no business here. Lara does not have time for this and asks Larson to get out of the way or he dies, pointing her guns to him at the same time. Although Larson knows how bad Lara wants the piece, he cannot let her pass. In fact, he thinks that Lara would never kill him for it. Lara hesitates for a bit, but at the end replies that she is not who Larson thinks she is.

Be prepared for the Interactive cut scene. Press the correct buttons to make Lara shoot Larson three times. If you do not do it, Larson will use his Shotgun and kill Lara.

In the next cut scene, Lara approaches Larson who leaves his last breath and ends dead. She gets the Blue Fuse from his body and realises what she did. She really feels sorry for him.

[Checkpoint] You now have the Blue Fuse in your backpack. Pick up the Shotgun from Larson's body and go to the control room again. Place the Blue Fuse to its slot and use the button to raise the hanging box and unblock your way. Exit and use the engine car. It will move on the tracks and, after turning around the corner, it will start working. When it reaches the end, it will break the wooden boards. Get off the car and enter the next room. [Checkpoint]

Room with lava and ledges - Needless to say what will happen if you fall into the lava! Approach the end of the broken tracks and jump to the pillar on the left. Turn around and notice the guns on the rock beneath the tracks you came from. To reach them, jump on the vertical metal structure, then to the rock (as shown in this screenshot). Pick up a pair of Caliber Pistols and jump back to the metal structure. Jump to grab the ledge of the pillar you came from and traverse around the corner. Jump to grab the vertical pole behind you and climb to the top. Turn right and jump on the metal structure ahead. From there, jump to grab the ledge of the next pillar and traverse around the corner. Jump to grab the upper ledge and then jump to the stone ledge behind you. [Checkpoint]

Notice the ring beneath the ledge ahead. Jump off the ledge and use the Grapple to catch the ring. Swing and jump to the slope ahead. Before sliding into the lava, jump to grab the horizontal pole. When you do that, the pole rotates 90 degrees.

Artifact #3 - Turn around and notice the goodies on the opposite rock (as shown here). Swing and jump to land on the rock. Pick up the Small Medipack and the Artifact.

Turn right and jump on the two metallic vertical structures. Jump on the slope and jump to grab the pole. When it rotates, swing and jump to the next slope. Before sliding to end, jump to grab the ledge of the pillar. Climb to the top and turn around. Jump off the ledge and grab with your Grapple the ring on the ceiling. Swing and jump to the alcove. Pick up the two Mini SMG's Ammo's and Large Medipack. Swing back to the pillar and jump to the tracks at the other side. The passage gets you an area with some rocks. [Checkpoint] Jump on the sloped rock on the right and before sliding down, jump to grab the opposite ledge. Climb up the rocks to the next area.

In the cut scene, Lara enters the next area and draws weapons. This fat guy was hoping she would get here, because he wants to make her scream. Lara asks him to get out of her way or he will end up like Larson. The fat guy does not care about Lara's words and he starts approaching her. Lara points her guns to him when the skateboarder joins them who draws his weapons.

Be prepared for the Interactive cut scene. Press the correct buttons to save Lara from the fat guy's attacks and skateboarder's shots. During that, Lara shoots the fat guy who falls down, but not dead. The skateboarder exchanges gun shots with Lara when the fat guy awakes and stabs the skateboarder, because Lara is his. Lara starts shooting him, but he manages to grab her. When he is ready to kill her, the skateboarder uses his last energy and shoots the fat guy who falls dead.

Room with huge slope and vertical spires - Pick up a pair of Mini SMGs from the dead skateboarder. There are two movable boxes in this room. Push the right hand one towards the right rocks and climb up them to get a Large Medipack. Drop back down and push the left block towards the left rocks. Climb on the block, then to the first stone ledge. Jump to grab the crevice and pull onto the upper ledge. Jump to grab the next crevice and traverse around the corner. Then jump to the next ledge on the right. Before continuing to the next crevice, rotate the camera to spot the goodies in the alcove behind (as shown in this screenshot). Drop down, jump to the slope and before sliding down, jump to grab the edge of the alcove. Pull up and pick up the Large Medipack and two SMG's Ammo's. Now make your way to the top ledge of the rocks.

Procedure/ Artifact #4 - You have to jump on the pressure spires with symbols and there are six of them; three on the left and three on the right hand side. The other spires will help your job. When you jump on a spire that has symbols, it sinks and you have to jump off before it reaches the bottom. If you stay there, Lara will slide down and you will have to start from the beginning. You have probably noticed the Artifact on the ledge at the other side (as shown here), but you have to jump from the spire with the symbols that is closest to the Artifact (as shown here). If this spire is down, you cannot get the Artifact and you will have to load a saved game. This page shows the procedure and includes detailed screenshots.

(Note: It is possible to jump on all six spires and get the Artifact in one round. You can see a video here. Also, if you keep failing, continue with opening the door and let the game load the next level. The spires will rise up and will not sink when you jump on them. That way, you can get the Artifact easier. Even if you load the next level, the Artifact will register in your statistics. Thanks to SLAYER for the note.)

Once you have step on all six spires, you have to make your way to the top and jump to the opening. Use the switch to activate the mechanism and open the door at the bottom of the slope. This ends the level.

Level 13: The Great Pyramid

Kills: 22
Supplies: 22
Artifacts: 1
Relics: 1
Additional Secrets: 0

(Note: Those who have played and completed the original Tomb Raider should recognize the level as Atlantis. However, Crystal Dynamics have merged Atlantis and The Great Pyramid into one level. You will recognize the latter when you reach the end of the level.)

[Checkpoint] Room with six cocoons - The level begins where the previous one left you. Slide down the slope and go through the door you opened. Follow the passage and pick up the Mini SMGs Ammo. The end takes you to a room with six cocoons; three on each side. There is also a closed door in the back left corner that will open later. Go to the other side of the room and pick up the two Mini SMGs Ammo's from the right (or wait until you get them after the battle that follows). Go through the next opening.

The cut scene shows Lara entering the next room. There is lava at the bottom which means she cannot go down. She takes a look above and notices that this is a really tall room. At the top, Natla is standing on a ledge, holding the Scion. She then goes inside a room and we see a kind of electricity. The room starts shaking and the camera shows the outside area. The rocks at the top of the mountain shatter and a pyramid is revealed. Back inside, Lara retutns to the previous room. One of the cocoons explodes and a flying mutatnt is getting released.

After the cut scene, four mutants have been released and one of them is flying. Draw weapons and kill them. Go towards the entrance of this room (the door is now closed) and notice that the door at the far right (as you return) is now open. Go through it and climb up the ladder. Turn around and enter the room above the six cocoons. Two of them will explode and two flying mutatnts will get released. Quickly draw weapons and kill them. Pick up the Mini SMGs Ammo and two Large Medipacks. Go through the opening at the far left and follow the passage to the next area.

Tall room/ Going up - You reach a ledge in the tall room you saw before, but this time a little bit higher. You have to reach the top of the room, but this procedure can be proved frustrating, so be patient. Pick up the the Large Medipack and Mini SMGs and Shotgun Ammo from the left. Notice the button on the right hand wall. Draw weapons and shoot it many times until all symbols around it glow. This will bring up a ring above the button which will stay there for about 11 seconds and extend a ledge that is higher at the other side. It will also release a flying mutant and by the time you have killed it, the ring will have slid inside the wall. Shoot the button again, jump to grab the crevice in the pillar and traverse around. Jump to grab with your Grapple the ring and perform the wall run to reach the handhold in the opposite corner. Jump to grab the crevice in the pillar above, traverse around and jump to grab the ledge behind you; pull up. [Checkpoint]

Second ledge - Shoot the next button until all symbols around it glow. Again, it will bring up a ring above the button which will stay there for about 15 seconds and extend a ledge that is higher at the other side. A flying mutant will get released and this time the ledge you are standing on will start sliding into the wall. Kill the mutant and shoot the button again. Jump to grab the crevice in the pillar, then the next one. Traverse around and jump to grab with your Grapple the ring above the button. Perform the wall run and jump to grab the crevice of the pillar in the opposite corner. Jump to grab the upper crevice and traverse around. Jump to grab the next crevice above, then the ledge behind you; pull up. [Checkpoint]

Third ledge - Shoot the third button until all symbols around it glow. This time, it will bring up two rings; one above the button and another one on the opposite wall. It will also extend three horizontal poles; two on your side and one on the wall with the button. Before doing anything, kill the two flying mutatnts that get released. You have about 18 seconds to make it to to the next safe ledge, before everything slides back into the wall. You have to jump on the slope of the pillar, jump to grab the first pole, then the next one. Turn around, swing and jump to grab the crevice in the pillar (above the slope). Traverse around, jump to grab the pole, immediately jump to grab with your Grapple the ring above the button and jump to the slope in the opposite corner. Before sliding down, jump to grab the next ring and perform the wall run to reach the crevice in the next pillar. (The procedure is shown in two screenshots: first and second.) Jump to grab the crevice above, traverse around and jump to grab the ledge behind you; pull up. [Checkpoint]

(Note: If this procedure becomes really frustrating and you keep falling to your death, you can ignore the horizontal poles and jump directly to grab with your Grapple the first ring. To make sure Lara will catch the ring, press and hold the Jump button to jump higher and further. Once there, you have to climb up the Grapple line a bit, then perform the wall run. The procedure is shown in this video.)

Fourth ledge - Shoot the fourth button until all symbols around it glow. It will extend two horizontal poles and a slope from the next wall which will stay there for about 9 seconds. Again, two flying muntants will get released, so kill them before doing anything else. Shoot the button to extend everything and jump to the slope in the corner. Jump to grab the first pole, swing and jump to the extended slope. Jump to grab the next pole, swing and jump to grab the crevive of the pillar in the next corner. Jump to grab the upper crevice and traverse around. Jump to grab the ledge behind you and pull up. [Checkpoint]

Fifth ledge - Shoot the fifth button until all symbols around it glow. It will extend two rings; one on the wall with the button and one on the opposite wall. Both will stay there for about 15 seconds, but before doing anything else, kill yet another time the two flying mutants that get released. Shoot the button again and jump to the slope in the corner. Jump and grab with your Grapple the first ring, perform the wall run and jump to the slope in the next corner. Jump off the slope and grab with your Grapple the next ring. Perform the wall run to reach the crevice of the pillar in the left hand corner. Jump to grab the upper crevice and traverse around. Jump to grab the ledge behind you and pull up. [Checkpoint] Pick up the Large Medipack and Caliber Pistol Ammo.

Artifact - Before going through the opening, notice the alcove at the other side (if the opening is on your right). Jump to grab the crevice in the pillar, traverse around and pull into the alcove. Pick up the Artifact and jump to grab the edge of the ledge you came from. Pull up and draw your weapons. The last flying mutant of this room has been released, so kill it.

Passage with traps - The passage gets you to a series of traps. First, pick up the two Shotgun Ammo's from the left. When the triple closing door has opened, run past it. Approach the fire shots and wait until they stop. Pick up the Large Medipack and run back. When the fire shots stop, run and stop just before the triple closing door. Pass it when it opens and proceed to the next trap. Again, run when the fire shots stop and stay just before the triple closing door. Run past it when it opens. Follow the passage to the next room. [Checkpoint]

Lara's mirrored creature - Before sliding into the room below, take a look at the opposite side to spot something that moves when you move. Be careful not to accidentally shoot it in the next battle. Slide into the room with your weapons drawn. Three mutants will attack, so kill them. Approach the middle of the room and examine the creature. It does exactly what Lara does and it can even shoot you if you shoot at it, which means that if it dies, you also die. To leave this room, you have to kill it. But instead of shooting it, you have to lure it into a trap.

First, pick up the two Mini SMGs Ammo's from the back right and far left corners of the room. The creture's side, where it will be trapped, is the one you came from (with the exit door above - see this screenshot to get oriented). Your side is the other one. Rotate the mechanism to extend two ledges; one beneath each ladder. They are timed, so run and jump to grab the ledge on the right (assuming the entrance is to your back). Pull up and climb up the ladder. Jump to grab the crevice on the right and, before the steam of the crevice pushes you back, jump to the ledge behind. You will land on a trapdoor which will close the exit door. Pick up the Large Medipack and draw weapons. As you proceed further, a flying mutant will be released from the cocoon, so kill it. Pick up the Caliber Pistol Ammo and use the switch to open the trapdoor you landed on before. The trapdoor is timed and you have 30 seconds to lure the creature here and kill it.

So, jump down and rotate the mechanism to extend the ledges. Run and jump to grab the ledge on the left (if the entrance is to your back). Pull up and climb up the ladder. Jump to grab the crevice on the right and jump to the ledge behind you to land on a pressure plate.

If you make it on time, the cut scene will show the last part of your jump. Lara jumps on the pressure plate and since the creture follows your moves, it will jump back too, but it will fall through the trapdoor and into the lava. The creture will die and Lara will comment "Talk about being your own worst enemy".

Pick up the Large Medipack and draw weapons. A flying mutant will be released from the cocoon, so kill it. Pick up the Shotgun Ammo and use the switch to open the exit door. Drop down and rotate the mechanism to extend the ledges. Climb on the one that will lead you to the exit (the right one if the entrance is to your back) and climb up the ladder. Jump to grab the crevice on the right and then jump to land on the trapdoor behind you. Since the creature is dead, the door will not close, so go through it. [Checkpoint]

Room with lava pit and two trines of metal cylinders - Follow the passage to the next room. Be careful not to accidentally fall into the lava pit ahead! There are two switches in the room and to reach them, you have to pass above the two moving trines of metal cylinders. To pass them, approach the wall and turn to face each trine. Press the up cursor key and start tapping the Jump button. The right hand switch opens the door opposite the entrance and the left switch extends a ladder so you can reach the door. You will also find a Large Medipack close to the right hand switch. Every time you use a switch, a flying mutant attacks, so kill both.

Relic - Cross the bridge, but do not go through the door. Draw weapons and shoot the rock above (as shown in this screenshot). It will fall down, destroying a part of the floor. Drop to the slide below and jump to grab with your Grabble the ring beneath the bridge. Swing to the alcove ahead and pick up the Large Medipack. Continue through the passage and climb up the ladder. Pick up the Torc of Embitterment, climb into the opening and drop down at the other side.

Cross the bridge and jump to the opposite side to end the level.

Level 14: Final Conflict

Kills: 9
Supplies: 24
Artifacts: 4
Relics: 0
Additional Secrets: 0

(Note: Those who have played and completed the original Tomb Raider should recognize the level as The Great Pyramid. Since Crystal Dynamics merged The Great Pyramid and Atlantis into one level, this one appears as the Final Conflict.)

[Checkpoint] The level begins where the previous one left you. Enter the room.

The cut scene shows Lara entering the room. She approaches the three pieces of Scion that rotate on an alter and moves to the other side. She takes a look at the ledge below and spots the big cocoon above. She looks further down and realises that she is at the top of the tall room she was climbing up before. Natla appears, telling her that Lara has reached the top and there is nowhere else to go but down.

Four mutants guard Natla and Lara knows that Natla is rebuilding the army of Atlantis. Natla tells her that the pyramid breeds more than the soldiers Lara has faced and with the Scion she can create anything she desires. Lara then asks for what and Natla tells her that what stands in the way for the Seventh Age could not be destroyed by Tihocan and Qualopec. Since it takes Three to rule, Natla asks Lara to join her, but Lara thinks it is madness. Natla reminds her that this is what Lara has been searching for and the answers she has sought are within the Scion. Everything that Lara has done has led her to this place, so Lara is here because she belongs here.

After thinking about it, Lara apolgises to her father. But she does not mean that she will join. Instead, she draws her weapons and shoots the Scion. Natla tries to prevent her and they both fall down. Lara throws her Grapple and catches the ledge above, while Natla is falling into the lava. When Lara pulls onto the ledge, a giant mutant appears from the cocoon.

[Checkpoint] Dealing with the giant mutant - As soon as the level begins draw weapons, because you have to kill the giant mutant. You cannot do it straight away, since you first have to destroy its left hand. There are two bars at the top right of your screen. The yellow one is the health bar, but in this case it does not have to drop to zero. The red bar is the mutant's rage. When you shoot repeatedly, the bar starts filling, causing the mutant to become enraged. In this case, it will attack and you have to perform the bullet time.

As you can see, there is only one side of the ledge that does not touch the wall. This has its meaning, because this part of the ledge leads to the lava pit below. The pattern is as follows: Make the mutant hang from the edge and shoot it until it falls down. The mutant hangs from the edge with the right hand and tries to pull up with the left one. You first have to destroy its left hand, so it cannot pull up. To do that, you must make the creature hang from the edge at least once. This means, that you have to stay close to the edge and shoot the mutant until it becomes enraged. When it attacks, perform the bullet time and it will roll over the edge. As a result, it will hang from the edge. The perfect time to do this is as soon as the level begins, because Lara stand with the pit to her back. So, start shooting until the red bar flashes, wait and when the mutant attacks, perform the bullet time by jumping sideways. Using the Shotgun is more effective, because two shots are enough to make the creature become enraged.

When you do that and it pulls up, shoot it until it becomes enraged. When it attacks, perform the bullet time. If you do it correctly, an orange reticule will appear on its left hand. You must shoot its hand and destroy it. Depending on the weapon you use, you may have to repeat the same procedure (bullet time and shoot the orange reticule) a couple or more times. When the left hand has been destroyed, you have to make the mutant hang from the edge as described above. Since the hand that it uses to pull up has been destroyed, it will not be able to pull up. Shoot the hand it hangs from (the right one) until it falls down. If the mutant pulls up, it means that the left hand has not been completely destroyed. You have to repeat the same procedure (bullet time and shoot the orange reticule) until you destroy its left hand. In case the mutatnt grabs Lara and shallows her, start shooting. This will make the mutant spit Lara. If you are able during the battle, pick up the two Large Medipacks, Shotgun and two Mini SMGs Ammo. When you are done, the camera will show the mutant falling into the lava pit.

Once the mutant is dead - When you kill the mutant, the door opens. Go through it and follow the tunnel to a lava river. [Checkpoint] Jump to the small ledge ahead and turn right. Jump to the next ledge and pick up the Large Medipack. Jump on the vertical structure ahead, then on the next one. Jump to grab the opposite ledge and pull up. Draw weapons and kill the mutant that flies from below. Use the switch to make the ledge slide inside the wall and extend another one beyond. When the second ledge stops, jump on it and enter the passage. Pick up the Shotgun Ammo and follow the passage. Before reaching the next room, a centaur will come from inside; kill it. [Checkpoint]

Room with two lava pits - You have probably noticed the Artifact in the alcove prior to entering this room, but you will get it later. Pick up the Large Medipack and Shotgun Ammo in front of the closed door on the left and go to the other side of the room. Use the switch to close the door you came from and open the other one. This also releases a flying mutant from one of the cocoons, so kill it.

Room with pool - Go through the door you just opened with your weapons drawn. [Checkpoint] When you kill the two mutants, go to the other side of the room and pick up the Shotgun and Caliber Pistol Ammo's.

Artifact #1 and #2 - Jump into the pool and pull the underwater lever to extend a ledge to the right of the entrance. Surface and climb out of the water. As you approach the ledge, a mutant will get released, so quickly climb on the ledge and kill it from safety. Climb into the opening and pick up the Large Medipack. Climb into the next opening and push the movable cage to throw it down and into the room with the two lava pits. Before going down, turn around and notice the Artifact on the ledge. Jump there, get the Artifact and jump back to the opening. Drop to the room with the two lava pits and position the cage next to the stone pillar. Climb on the cage, then on the pillar. [Checkpoint] A flying mutant attacks, so take care of it. Pick up the Small Medipack and climb on the ledge above the entrance. Use the switch to open the door. Drop down and push the cage outside the room. Position it beneath the alcove. Climb on the cage, then into the alcove. Pick up the Artifact and drop down.

Push the cage back inside the room and position it again next to the stone pillar. Climb on the cage, then on the pillar. This time, jump to grab the crevice above the lava pit. This and the rest two throw a kind of steam that can push you back, so quickly make your way to the crevice in the other corner. From there, jump and grab with your Grapple the ring on the wall. Perform the wall run to reach the crevice on the left. Traverse to the left and jump to grab the edge of the opening above. Pull up and pick up the Caliber Pistol Ammo. Drop to the lower room and pick up the Shotgun Ammo. Then drop to the room with the pool, this time behind some rocks. Jump to grab the stone panel with the symbols and it will slide down. Release and, before it goes up again, shoot the button to open one of the three circular gates in the pool. Use the rocks to exit.

There two more stone panels that hide a button each; one at the far left and another one at the far right corner of the room. There is a laval pit beneath the right hand panel, so be careful not to fall down, because the last Checkpoint was created on the stone pillar in the room with the two lava pits. So, before using it, approach the entrance of this room (with the pool) to create an additional Checkpoint. Shoot both buttons to open the other two circular gates in the pool. When you use the left one, a flying mutant gets released, so kill it. [Checkpoint] Jump into the pool and swim through the gates, getting a Small Medipack on your way. Surface at the end of the tunnel and climb out of the water. Pick up the Caliber Pistol Ammo and follow the passage to a lava river. [Checkpoint]

Area with lava river - Go down the passage and jump to the ledge on the right of the lava river. Be careful of the falling fire shots! Proceed ahead and jump to the opposite side. Turn right and approach the edge. Jump to grab the ladder and climb to the top. Jump to grab the crevice on the left and, before it releases the steam, jump to grab the alcove above. Before it breaths fire, jump to grab the crevice above, then the one on the left. Shimmy left and jump to grab the next crevice. Be careful here, because the lava waterfall can kill you if you touch it. Release to grab the ledge below. Pull up and pick up the Large Medipack. Hang from the edge and release to grab the lower ledge. Jump to grab the crevice behind you and release to grab the lower one. Then drop to the ground.

(Note: From the top of the ladder, jump to grab the crevice that releases steam and quicly shimmy to the left and jump backwards to grab the ledge with the Medipack, as shown in this screenshot. Thanks to tanuki for the shortcut.)

Artifact #3 - The two ledges in the lava river sink when you jump on them, so you have to be quick. When you reach the second one, turn right and jump on the safe stone ledge (as shown in this screenshot). Go behind the lava waterfall and pick up the Artifact. Then return back.

Jump on the ledge in the lava river and, before it sinks, jump to grab the handhold ahead. Jump to grab the upper handhold and traverse around the corner. Jump to land on the vertical structure behind you and turn right. When the alcove stops breathing fire, jump to the next vertical structure. Jump to grab the horizontal pole, swing and jump to the ledge beyond. Before it sinks, jump to the safe ledge ahead. Turn left and jump to the next ledge. It will sink in a couple of seconds, so quickly jump to grab the ladder; climb to the top.

Artifact #4 - (Before going for the Secret, you may want to proceed a couple of steps more and create a Checkpoint, in case you accidentally fall into the river.) Turn around and jump off the ledge. Use the Grapple to grab the ring on the ceiling and swing to the opposite side. Wait for the fire to go off and drop down to get a Large Medipack. Turn right and jump to the opposite stone ledge to get another Large Medipack. Then jump into the alcove on the right and pick up the Artifact. Make your way back to the top of the ladder and proceed to the next room. [Checkpoint]

In the cut scene, Lara enters the room and Natla is flying from an opening above. It seems she survived from the drop, but it is obvious she has been burned. She is yelling at Lara because of what she did (for shooting the Scion) and tells her that she has waited for this moment for thousands of years. She also accuses Lara and tells her that her heart is black as hers (Natla's).

Dealing with Natla (part 1) - After the cut scene, draw weapons. You cannot kill Natla now, but you have to bring her down. There are Shotgun and three Mini SMGs Ammo's to the left of the starting position, so go get them if you need them, although dealing with Natla can be done with the Pistols too. At this point, the only vulnerable part of Natla are her wings. So start shooting at them, side-jumping at the same time to avoid her fireballs. At some points, Natla will fly down and try to kick Lara. In this case, you can press the Crouch button to duck and avoid her. If you want to position Lara a bit higher so you can have a better range, you can jump and land on the side of a pillar (as shown in this screenshot). If you stay at the back of the pillar and not towards the center of the room, Natla's bolts will hardly get you (thanks to L.C for the tip). When half of her health bar is down, the next cut scene will play.

The cut scene shows Lara approaching Natla. She spots a glowing part on her back when Natla awakes and grabs Lara from her neck. Natla tells her that she cannot die and throws her away. Sooner or later, Lara will run out of bullets.

Dealing with Natla (part 2) - There are two bars at the top right of your screen. The yellow one is the health bar, so the fight ends when it drops to zero. The red bar is Natla's rage. When you shoot repeatedly, the bar starts filling, causing Natla to become enraged. In this case, she will attack with her wing, turning her back to you. You have to perform the bullet time and if you do it correctly, Natla will kneel, giving you some seconds to shoot the glowing part on her back and causing Natla's health bar to decrease. Another way to succeed this is the following: once Natla runs towards you and is about to approach, run towards her too and press Crouch to perform the bullet time. That way, Lara will jump over Natla and land behind her, making it easier to aim at her back (thanks to Mona Sax for the hint). Again, you have to avoid her fireballs while you increase her rage, by side-jumping.

When Natla's health drops to zero, be prepared for an Interactive cut scene. Press the correct buttons to save Lara from Natla's attacks and make Lara shoot her.

When Natla falls dead by a huge pillar that crashes upon her, Lara climbs up a fallen pillar in the cut scene in order to escape.

In the next cut scene, Lara jumps into the water and swins to the boat. The pyramid at the top of the mountain explodes. Lara climbs on the boat and leaves

a cinematic will show your guide breaking the ladder leading up.

with the ladder unusable, you have to find another way up- via another path.run to the left of the fallen bridge where there is a wall imbedded in the rock behind it.run up the slightly raised stone and jump off at the end and on to the wall in front of it. move to the end of the ledge and jump on to the next one then shimmy to the end of that one and jump backwards across to the snowy platform. leap to the adjacent ledge then turn left and look at the icon simbolising the graple hook. jump towards the icon and press square to swing across safely, run up the stairs to your guide.the doors leading to the cave are closed so head to the left of the rocky outcrop jump over the gap, turn right and then jump and unleash your grappel then swing to the ledge. jump onto the ledge and shimmy to the left jump up and shimmy to the left of the ledge then jump to the left on to the platform then go to the button and press it. a cinematic will show the doors opening but wolfs killing your guide then you will enter the mountain caves.
