It is another life. When people mention the two words 'Game' and 'Farming' they generally shudder and even cry. However, Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life is a brilliant game. The graphics are beautiful, with shadows being cast on the ground as the sun moves across the sky, and dusty hurricanes whipping up so you can barely see, and you feel the element of danger. The water in the river runs with a glimmer of the sun and when it gets dark, the moon hangs in the sky like a crystal ball. How can anyone hate this game? It may get a bit repetitive, but the storyline and background of each character you meet is a story plot in its own right. Anyway, on with the walkthrough! <<FORGET-ME-NOT-VALLEY>> Forget-Me-Not-Valley is where you will spend the whole game. It is peaceful, and not very busy. However, there are lots of things to do. Here is a list of practically everything you can do, but there are one or two you should discover for yourself. (YEAR ONE) - Milk your cow(s) - Collect eggs - Tend to your crops - Give presents to the villagers - Woo a potential wife - Help out at the dig - Shear any sheep - Order tools - Pick flowers and weeds - Sell random objects to Van in large amounts - Talk to people - Trigger events (be in the right place at the right time) - Wash your livestock - Order a pond (YEAR TWO) - Play with your child - Milk a goat - Bargain for a goat <<LOCATIONS OF FORGET-ME-NOT-VALLEY>> Note that these change after the first year, so these are just for the start of the game, so there are no spoilers. <YOUR FARM> This is where the money making is mainly done. You and your family live here, as do the animals you buy. Tend to your crops, feed animals and order objects here. <VESTA'S FARM> A competing farm. Buy seeds here. Celia, a potential wife, lives here. <DIGGING SITE> Help out at the dig here, and you can uncover valuable objects to sell, or give to Muffy or Nami. <INN> Tim, Ruby and their son Rock own this Inn. Nami lives upstairs. <BAR> Muffy works here, along with Griffin, the owner. <GALEN AND NINA'S HOUSE> Right-hand house. Old folks Galen and Nina live here. <WALLY'S HOUSE> Left-hand house. Wally, Chris and their son Hugh live here. It has cool music. <DARYL'S LAB> Daryl the scientist lives here. <FIREWORK HUT> The twins Kassey and Patrick live here, making fireworks. You can play a game with them for a small prize. <CODY'S HUT> Cody the metal artist lives here. It's noisy. <RAMONA'S VILLA> Rich old woman Ramona, her grand-daughter Lumina and their butler Sabastian live here. Often piano music can be heard. <<ANIMAL CARE>> Cows- These require a lot of attention, and twice a day milking. It's better to do it with your hands, except if you want your son to be interested in science. Follow these five steps to get good A-Grade milk. 1) Wash and brush your cow frequently. 2) Hug your cow every time you see it. 3) Talk to it. This not only makes it happy, but lets you know how it is. 4) Always keep it's feeding box filled up to the top. 5) On sunny days, put it outside. On rainy days, bring it inside. Chickens- Fill up the bird feeding box, and hug your chickens frequently. You get two types of eggs: 1) Normal- sell or eat these. 2) Fertilised- sell for more, or put in the incubator to get a baby chick. 3) Golden Eggs- Rare, but worth lots. Goats- Same as cows. Ducks- Same as chickens. Sheep- Only male sheep can be bought. Buy a pair of sheers and you can cut their wool to sell for profit. However, you have to wait until it grows. Horse- You only get one.
