This Walkthrough is dedicated for those stuck on the Cloister of Trials; you know those real hard puzzles in the game, where you have to put these spheres in certain places, etc… -Ok, let’s start with. What is the cloister of trails, and what is the point of them?! Well, the Cloister of trails, is a test for Summoner, before they are granted the power from the ‘Fayth’ who replica themselves as Aeons. The Cloister of trails lay around in temples, where you obtain Aeons; each one gets harder as you progress through the game. At each temple there are Secret treasure chests-by using the Destruction sphere, where later in the game you can obtain the aeons Anima and *the magus sisters. The cloister of trials are: -TEMPLE BESAID-you obtain the aeon Valefore. -KILIKA TEMPLE-you obtain the aeon Ifrit. -DJOSE-you obtain the aeon Ixion. -MACALANIA TEMPLE-you obtain the aeon Shiva. -TEMPLE BEVELLE-you obtain the aeon Bahamut. - (ZANARKAND TEMPLE)-nothing… well if you were clumsy and forgot the SECRET chest in BEVELLE, which you no longer have access to. (Depending your progression of the game.) But though there is a cloister of trials for entry to fight Yunnalesca. -*BAAJ TEMPLE-you obtain Anima. (I love this aeon!) -*REMIEM TEMPLE-you obtain the aeons The Magus Sisters. (Cindy, Mindy and Sandy)-When you summon The Magus Sisters-they come as a three. (There attacks are powerful!!!) *means it is a secret temple contains hidden aeons. The magus Sisters, you may have the Blossom crown or the Flower Sceptre, but you must obtain Anima to complete the seal in the Renium Temple. - BESAID TEMPLE CLOISTER OF TRAILS. This is the Trails you come across, it’s pretty simple, well it would be considering it’s your first Trails. The temple obtains Valefore-your first aeon. Examine the Big symbol in front of you. Brown looking colour, NOT the green one on the side of the wall. Some weird looking symbols appear. Inspect the green looking GLYPH you will be asked if you want to touch it, say ‘yes’ to touch the GLYPH, a door opens in front of you. -Go down the stairs, and look at the wall mounting. Take the GLYPH SPHERE from the mounting, and go down to the bottom of the stairs. -Examine the door, and you’ll be asked if you want to insert the GLYPH SPHERE into the door, accept that. The door now opens. -From the door that has just opened, to the right of you on the ‘half’ of the door, take the GLYPH SPHERE you have just inserted. -Continue along the passage and turn around the corner. On the left-hand side of you on the wall is somewhere to insert that sphere, known as a RECESS. (Just under that white symbol looking stuff). Insert the GLYPH SPHERE into the recess, and a door will open, revealing a purple Known sphere called a ‘DESRTUCTION SPHERE’. Just leave that for now, you’ll come back here in just a second! -Continue along, following this passage, until you come to a pedestal, which is on your left. Behind the pedestal appears to be a wall, but is a hidden door. In order to open the chamber behind the pedestal, just touch the symbols on the opposite wall. -Enter into this chamber, where you’ll see a sphere. Take the BESAID SPHERE from the wall, and insert it into the pedestal. -The door behind the pedestal opens up, you now have to choices. 1. Be wise and get the SECRET CHEST or 2. End this Cloister of Trials. -Hahahaha!!! Well I’m going to tell you anyway on how to get the SECRET CHEST. :p It is a wise idea to get it now, rather to come back later and face DARK VALEFORE which isn’t nice!! So im going to save you time! -Return to where you saw the DESTRUCTION SPHERE, take it from the wall, and take the DESTRUCTION SPHERE to where you saw the BESAID SPHERE. Insert it into that wall. -You’ll see a quick seen of a wall smashing up…GO grab the Item inside the chest!!! Come out of that small chamber, and you’ll see a hole in the wall, with a chest. In the chest is ROD OF WIZDOM, and some symbol appears just after receiving this item. -Go back to the pedestal, and push it to the end of the chamber, by pressing Tidus, up against it. -As soon as the pedestal touches the mark on the ground, it will sink into the floor. -If you haven’t noticed, on the floor is a GLOWING SWITCH. If you touch this glowing switch, the pedestal will return to its starting point…I know annoying! So don’t touch it unless there’s a good reason to, or unless it mentions it in this walkthrough to touch the GLOWING SWITCH. Only touch this switch if you pushed the pedestal too far or into a wall where you can’t get the pedestal back. Congratulations!!! You’ve finished with BESAID CLOISTER TRAILS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! KILIKA TEMPLE CLOISER OF TRAILS. -Examine the pedestal on the left-hand side. Take the KILIKA SPHERE from the pedestal. -Take the KILIKA SPHERE over to the door, and insert it into the right hand-side of the door. It goes up in flames, take the KILIKA SPHERE out again, and the flames disappear. -Go into the new chamber and insert the KILIKA SPHERE into the recess, which you will see on the north wall. -A Glyph will appear. Remove the KILIKA SPHERE again and insert it into one of the two recesses in either one of the side walls. -If you touch the GLYPH, a passage to the north will open. Now take the GLYPH SPHERE from the pedestal and insert it into the other side wall. -Go to the wall of flames, on the right-where there’s a glowing switch on the floor, on the right. -The pedestal appears nearby. Take the KILIKA SPHERE on the right hand side and insert it into the pedestal. -Push the pedestal onto the glowing switch (the one on the right hand side, at the top-where the wall of flames are, and it’s on the floor.) When you have pushed the pedestal onto the GLOWING SWITCH, it will vanish. -Now go fetch the GLYPH SPHERE from the previous chamber. If you insert it into the recess from which you removed the second KILIKA SPHERE, a secret chamber opens containing the DESTRUCTION SPHERE. -Go down the stairs and take the next KILIKA SPHERE, from the east wall. Insert it into the north wall and the exit door will be engulfed in flames. -Go to the secret chamber and fetch the DESTRUCTION SPHERE-from the secret chamber, and insert it on the level below. -A small area containing a chest will appear. Inside is a RED ARMULET, along with another symbol looking thing. -All you have to do now, in order to complete Kilika trails is to remove the KILIKA SPHERE from the Northern wall to open up the EXIT. DJOSE ‘S CLOISTER OF TRAILS In the world of Cloister of Trails begins to get harder and harder! I found this one and the other forthcoming Cloister of trails difficult. -You’ll find one DJOSE SPHERE in a recess in both the left and right side walls. Insert both of these into the door. -Enter the next chamber…take a look at the floor around the pedestal. The point of this Trial is to illuminate all parts of the symbol. -Beyond the pedestal take one of the two DJOSE SPHERES from the wall. -With Tidus holding the DJOSE SPHERE take the sphere over to the east of the chamber. (If you’re where the GLOWING SWITCH is you’re in the wrong part, the other side, with two empty recesses.) Insert the DJOSE SPHERE into either of the two empty recesses. -Fetch the other sphere, which is in the middle of the room and insert it into the other empty recess. (Same area where you have just put the DJOSE SPHERE) There appears to be an upside down pedestal, when you put the two spheres into the recess on the wall, it glows up, or lights up…well some reaction. -Go to the pedestal, which is where those symbols on the floor are, and push it under the UPSIDE DOWN PEDASTOL. (In the normal pedestal, there should be a DJOSE SPHERE, and when you push the normal pedestal, to the UPSIDE DOWN PEDASTOL, it charges the DJOSE SPHERE into a ‘super charged’ sphere, or summing like that. Well we’ll call it a ‘super charge sphere’). -Remove the SUPER CHARGED SPHERE, and insert it into the recess to the right of the door, sort of opposite the pedestal, well that area. (The door has those funny symbols on it) -A passage will open up. -Insert the two spheres, from the eastern part of the room, insert them into the pedestal. -Go to the west side of the room, and step on the GLOWING SWITCH, the PEDASTOL will be back to where it was earlier, at the centre of the room, it will have the two spheres on it still. -Push the pedestal to the north of the room, with the electro-field. The two spheres will help balance the pedestal, thus it floating. -Jump onto the pedestal, and jump onto the platform. You’ll find another pedestal, once you made it across the electro-field. -Push the pedestal into the wall; this will cause the eye on the floor of the central chamber to light up. -Return to the west passage with the GLOWING SWITCH, and step on it. Again the pedestal will return to the middle of the room. -Remove the SUPER CHARGED SPHERE form the right of the door and insert the SUPER CHARGED SPHERE into the left side. (Opposite of the right hand side of the door), this causes another part of the symbol to light up. -Take both of the DJOSE SPHERES from the pedestal, go back to the chamber, where you first started this Trails, and insert the DJOSE SPHERES into either side of the walls. Now the symbol in the centre of the other chamber is now complete. -The symbol now transforms into a platform. Take Tidus up to it and stand on it, it takes Tidus up to the next level. -The room to the north has five pedestals, push each of them into the wall. A set of stairs now appear close to the lift, and a new pedestal will appear in the centre of the corridor. -Don’t go to the stairs at this movement, take the Platform down. You will see a GLYPH on the wall by the GLOWING SWITCH, on the west side passage. -Inspect the GLYPH which is on the wall, a passage or the wall will open up revealing a DESTRUCTION SPHERE. Take the DESTRUCTION SPHERE back up with you, to the next level and insert it into the pedestal. A chamber nearby opens, containing a chest with a ‘MAGIC SPERE’-for the sphere grid, also another symbol appears-like the previous SECTRET CHESTS. -Now use the stairs, which I mention just a while ago, to enter the temples Antechamber. MACALANIA CLOISTER OF TRAILS -Ok, the point of this Trail is to build the bridge, over head. -To Tidus left, you’ll see a ramp, and in front of Tidus is a massive gap, that looks like there’s obviously a bridge needed. -Go down the Ramp. You’ll see a pedestal. Go over to the pedestal. -Push the pedestal into the ice formation, which is on the right. The ice formation will stop the pedestal from moving. To the front of sort of to the front of Tidus you’ll see a wall, holding a MACALANIA SPHERE. (The wall closes to you.) -Remove the MACALANIA SPHERE from that wall, and insert it into the pedestal. -Push the pedestal into the remaining ice formation, which is, (if Tidus was facing right when he pushed the pedestal just a minute ago, in the far distance you could see another wall, NOT one containing the MACALANIA SPHERE, but by this other wall with the sphere is ice formation, Sharp looking ice thingies) The pedestal goes down a ramp. -Remove the GLYPH SPHERE from the centre pillar, and go down the ramp, where you just pushed the pedestal down. -when you’re at the bottom of the ramp, push the pedestal to the right. By doing this a short segment of the bridge is complete. -Go to the far left of this bottom level, go over to the recess where there’s ice formation dangling down, and insert the GLYPH SPERE in the recess. A block containing a MACELANA SPHERE will rise from the floor, above you. (Middle level) -Go to the middle level, and take the sphere from the block. (It’s on the left side, just under the ramp, where, you came down at the start of this trail.) Insert the MACELANA SPHERE into the pillar, which is on the left, at the bottom level. (Near where you inserted the GLYPH SPERE. Doing this causes another formation of the bridge to be complete. -Take the third MACELANA SPHERE out of the recess that is just at the entrance to the ramp. The ramp vanishes. -Take the third MACELANA SPHERE over to the centre pillar, where you took the GLYPH SPERE earlier. The bridge will now be 100% complete. BUT… -the trail is, in my opinion not 100% complete, 98%. It’s best to take the Secret item, while you have the chance. -at the top level, the bridge, is the bridge complete and a GLOWING SWITCH. Don’t touch the switch just yet, instead, go back to the middle level, and remove the MACELANA SPHERE from the centre pillar. -insert the MACELANA SPHERE into the wall closest to the centre pillar. (Not the block that appeared when inserting the GLYPH SPHERE, the one mentioned at the beginning of the Trails for Macalania trails. -Now go to the top level and go to the top and press GLOWING SWITCH, which makes the pedestal to appear where Tidus is standing (next to the GLOWING SWITCH) -Push the pedestal down the top ramp and it is diverted, half-way, and is diverted to the right-into an ice pillar. -Walk down the ramp, and insert the MACELANA SPHERE into the wall next to the ‘vanished ramp’. -Go back to the top of the ramp (middle level) and step on the switch, the pedestal will appear containing the DESTRUCTION SPHERE. -Remove the DESTRUCTION SPHERE and go to the bottom level. At the bottom the ramp, to the ramps left is a recess. Insert the DESTRUCTION SPHERE into the recess. -A treasure chest will appear, containing a LUCK SPHERE, along with the funny looking symbol. -On the bottom level move the MACALANIA SPHERE from the wall to the right and insert it into the pedestal. Push it to the right again into the pillar. -Now go up a level to remove the MACALANIA SPHERE from the wall next to the ramp, and insert it into the central pillar. THE BRIDGE IS NOW 100% COMPLETE. BUT take care NOT TO touch the GLOWING SWITCH. BEVELLE TRAILS -This cloister of trails is one of the hardest trails you’ll do. The floor moves and its rather tricky. So I have used the source of this from the FINAL FANTAYS X-official guide. -Go past the first Glyph turning. At the second junction, the arrow will point to the left and right. Press X once it’s pointing to the left in order to move to the western niche. Take the BEVELLE SPERE and push the pedestal back onto the platform. Your next destination is the niche opposite. Press X several times once the glyph arrow points towards the screen and you’ll turn and travel back south. At the first turn-off, stop the glyph arrow as it points to the left, causing you to move to the eastern niche. Insert the recess in the wall, activating the main walkway on the middle level. Take the platform to the southern Glyph on this level, and turn downwards. Turn left on the next level, (you’ll remain on the middle level). Go past the first turning, and turn right at the second. If you keep going straight ahead by mistake, you’ll simply find yourself travelling in a circle. Remove the GLYPH SPHERE from the wall and insert it in to the pedestal. Set off again, and turn right at the next (North-Eastern) junction. Remove the BEVELLE SPHERE from the pedestal and insert it into the recess. Solid ground will form to one side of you. Now, remove the GLYPH SPHERE from the pedestal and insert it into the end of this corridor. The wall will open up allowing you to remove the DESTRUCTION SPHERE. Insert the DESTRUCTION SPHERE into the pedestal. Next, remove the BEVELLE SPHERE from the wall, and insert it into the pedestal as well. Now travel back to the point where you previously removed the GLYPH SPHERE form the wall, and insert the DESTRUCTION SPHERE. This will open up a passage way at the end of the corridor, south of your currant position. Before heading in that direction, you’ll need a second BEVELLE SPHERE. Travel to the first intersection on this level, where you’ll stop automatically. Now head right towards the lowest level, where you’ll find a BEVELLE SPHERE. Take it back up to the middle level. There, turn right and right again. There will be a platform obstructing your path, but you need simply to push the pedestal to the other side and you can continue on your way. You must now leave the walkways. Climb the stairs and insert the BEVELLE SPHERE into the recess in the wall. Take the HP SPHERE from the right. The chest will vanish, leaving a glowing switch in its place. Step onto the switch to make the pedestal appear. Turn around and push the pedestal towards the left of the screen onto the platform. Step onto the platform and you’ll be carried over to a chest containing the KNIGHT LANCE. Head north to exit the trails. *You have done 6 trails and collected the chests, and if you followed this through, you will be able to get the aeon Anima from Baaj temple. If you missed out one of the treasures, you can return, unless you didn’t get the treasure from Temple Bevelle. So you can now go to Zanarkand and do the cloister of trails there. (You have to do the trails twice, once to go face Yunnalesca and 2nd time round for the secret chest.) The location of Baaj Temple is: X axis Y axis 11-16 57-63 I also hope that you have got these 6 treasures before you obtained the airship, because Dark Aeons, Shiva and Valefore guard their temple. So Dark Shiva guards Macelenia and Valefore guards Besaid, you have to fight these, and believe me they are hard!!!!! But for example, you got the chest in Bevelle but NOT Besaid Temple, and then you can go Zanarkand Trails, that makes 6. ZANARKAND CLOISTER OF TRAILS~SHOW DOWN TO YUNNALESCA. -At the present momemant you can’t obtain the treasure for Zanarkand. -To start the trails step on the green square. -For this trails you have to activate the squares, corresponding to the screen. *The O means touch this glowing light. X means touch this you’ll have to restart and TS means Tidus starting point or room entrance. This is my diagram, and is shown how the T.V looks at the Fields, or from the directions. First chamber. X X O O O X TS X -The door to the next room will open, and you’ll see six pedestals appear in the niches. -Push the pedestal near the door in the North-West: new parts of the puzzle will be shown on the display. -Go into the next room and examine the display in the North, then activate the required symbols by touching the glowing points. -Once you’ve activated six fields, the first symbol in the centre of the room will light up. -Return to the chamber and push the next pedestal into the wall. You’ll have to activate seven fields at the pedestal in the South-West. -Once you’ve pushed the pedestal into the wall in the North-East, you’ll activate nine fields. -South-Eastern pedestal, another seven fields. -Once these have been done, you’ll receive the KILIKA SPHERE, you’ll find to the left of the display in the North. -In the small chamber, insert the KILIKA SPHERE into the middle pedestal on the west side. -Now go back to the hall and grab the BESAID SPHERE which you’ll find on the right of the display. -Insert it into the remaining pedestal (at the centre of the eastern wall), push both the pedestals into the wall and return to the hall… ZANARKAND TRAILS part 2 FOR THE FINAL CHEST. -With possession of the airship, fly back to Zanarkand and go to the dome. -welcome back to the trails, it isn’t long this one. -Take a look at the wall at the top of the screen. You’ll see six white squares. -activate the three white fields in the small room. *GS=represents glow switch, X=don’t activate, O=activate, SP=starting point. A-Z=entrance into the other room. A-Z O X X O X O X X X SP -Activate the four white fields in the great hall. -The niche of the north wall of the small room will then open. -Remove the DESTRUCTION SPHERE from the niche and insert it into the recess to the right of the monitor in the great hall. -A chest will appear containing a MAGISTRAL ROD and along those symbol thing -Now what you ask??????
