But don't let its sunny cheerful exterior get your hopes up. Gangs, cops and Mob Bosses litter the town, looking to get in their cut. They'll go through anyone, even you. So it makes sense, that with all the possible ways you got to go around town, you have to do it right. Don't carry pathetic guns that won't harm a fly, go for the big guns! This guide will tell you where you can pick them up. If you want my In-a-nut-shell opinions, please search alphabetically for the car, boar, aircraft, bike or weapon you want. However, if you want to be brief, look for the final score. A quick tip, if you want to be specific, search the following by pressing CTRL + F. Search without quotes. The colons are important, as it makes sure your search is specific. Search your wanted subject like below. Admiral: Reasonable pace, and durability, looks like a Lada though. Not that bad, but not stylish! Ambulance: Fast, and reasonably strong, the siren is useful for clearing traffic, but watch out you don't flip it. These are either in hospitals, or attending scenes where people have been killed. Baggage Handler: Slow, weak and just pointless. The novelty will soon wear thin, when you can't overtake pedestrians. Good control though. Banshee: The older version of the GTA 3 convertible, and what looks like a Chevrolet Corvette replica. Very fast, but not too strong. Good looks though! Barracks OL: This is an Army vehicle; a giant truck that will bash it's way through anything. However, there are better alternatives. This will do though, quite fast and strong. Benson: Boredom on wheels, slow and sluggish, its only advantage is it can take a few knocks. BF Injection: The special car from GTA 3 makes a more common return here. Quite fast, and travels brilliantly over sand and hills, it also can take a knock or 2. Don't look too bad either; this is a good vehicle. Bilsta Compact: Good handling, this car does have some good speed and acceleration also. However, not the strongest car to be in. Looks like a compressed Banshee, so looks quite stylish. Blood ring Banger: Used in the Arena races, this is parked outside the front when completing all the Arena races. It is reasonably durable and fast, as a banger should be. Nifty paint job though. Bobcat: Looks like one of those old Toyota vans we know so well. Reasonable acceleration, and control, I like this car. Being an off road vehicle, it won't let you down on the beach. Boxville: Pretty slow and boring, like the Benson, the best thing about this is it will take a few knocks. Burrito: A faster van, but still pretty slow compared to the faster cars. Has ok durability, and looks pretty cool. Bus: A rare vehicle, this is quite strong, but lacks speed. It will take a lot of damage. If you can get it up to speed, it will go through a lot of obstacles. Cabbie: A classic cab, similar to the one in GTA 3. It's an average car, nothing special, Taxis are much better though. Caddy: This is your only resort in the Golf Course, thank god. Quite slow, and weak to shooting, but nippy around traffic. Will get knocked easily, so not good for chases. Found in a bush near the lighthouse, and in the golf course (of course). Also, they are rarely seen driving out front. Cheetah: Replica Ferrari Testarossa, this is another smart car to be caught in, again, very fast, but very weak also. (Like the Banshee) Coach: A slightly faster version of the Bus, these can be seen doing stops around town. Worth the durability, but still quite slow. Comet: A replica Porsche 911, this is very fast, but very weak. These are found out front of the golf course parked, but can be seen driving around. Cuban Hermes: The Hermes looks quite cool in itself, but put a fat engine in it, and a fiery colour scheme and you'll be in Cuban heaven. This is a well-proportioned ride. Deluxo: Only available in the Sunshine Autos after delivering cars to the garage. Similar speeds to the super cars (Banshee / Cheetah e.t.c.) but slightly stronger. A good choice! (Similar to Ferrari F40) Enforcer: Reasonably fast, and strong, this is a good vehicle. Used as a SWAT van, there is Body Armour included, so hop in to give your character a boost! Esperanto: Not brilliant acceleration, but can go quite fast. Durability is ok, but it does look quite nice. Seen in GTA 3 also. Not a getaway vehicle though. FBI Rancher: It's a faster, stronger version of the Rancher jeep, with 4 doors instead of 2. It is obvious by it's extra length and by the fact it's ramming you off the road! These only show up when you have 5 stars, not at stations or other locations. Good luck stealing one and getting away without handcuffs. FBI Washington: Again, a faster stronger version of the normal Washington, these surprisingly isn’t used. You however can find it north of the second island, near a Pizza station parked in an alley. Worth the find it is, but the Rancher is again, the better choice. Fire truck: I rate this as the best vehicle in the game. It gets up to speed quickly, and can ram anything clean off the road, rolling it along the floor like Lego to a child, and is very strong. It has a water cannon also, which can put out fires, and knock down people. You'll find these in fire stations, but also if there have been a lot of flaming wrecks near your area, (caused by you) one of these will pop up. Worth nicking! Flatbed: Similar to the Barracks OL, this is big and durable, but slow. Fire truck wins out with this. These aren’t driven by the army, but look near exact similar replicas. Gang Burrito: The normal Burrito was reasonable for a van, but this is even faster and fiercer on the road. Usually seen with a big spoiler, a teddy on the bumper and rally like lights. Glendale: Another average motor. Ok speed, ok durability. It will get you to A - B, but there are much better methods. Looks ok though. Greenwood: These are reasonable cars, similar to the Glendale. The square look is a bit off-putting though. Hermes: Average speed, but a bit tougher than most. The Cuban gang version is much better, but this is pretty cool. Hot ring Racer: VERY very fast, this is available when you complete the lists on the Sunshine Autos garage board. Not too strong, so don't pile it into anything. Idaho: Like the Esperanto, it can get to good speeds, but it needs time to accelerate. It's an ok ride, but there are better options. This has awful steering, since it's rear-wheel drive. Infernus: A Countash replica, this has good speeds, good looks, but isn’t very strong. Outside Diaz's mansion, there is usually one parked to the left of the stairs. Kaufman Cab: It's a Cabbie, with Kaufman. I wasn't one for brands myself... Landstalker: A nice chunky 4x4, its height means cornering is a risk. But, it's a reasonable vehicle with good off road potential, but it's nowhere near the FBI Rancher. Linerunner: Another GTA 3 classic, this vehicle has average speed, but packs a punch. It'll plough through roadblocks, so it might be of use to you. Love Fist: A special limo available only in the missions for the music company. You use it in a couple of occasions, so if you can, try swipe it in the garage. I wish I did. Good acceleration, reasonable durability, looks cool and don't drive bad - a good choice motor! Manana: Ugh ... ugly, slow, weak, this thing will fall apart if you drive over any steep kerbs, so be careful! Ok.. Not really, but the point is, you have to be pretty desperate to be using one of these. If you drive this in a police chase, they will save the petrol and walk after you. (Ok, enough of the jokes, you get the idea!) Mesa Grande: Nice 2 door jeep, good acceleration and fierce sounding engine, it might not have the top speed or be very durable, but it's a good ride. Good for the dunes too! Moonbeam: A van with windows, this is pretty much similar. Slightly weaker, and has an average speed, this is not a good choice; you'll not last too long on the roads if you're in trouble. Mr Whoopee: Used to deliver 'ice cream', it comes with a pleasant jingle. And doing drive bys, and random killings in it, is just hilarious. It's a shame it looks like a box, and drives like one. Pretty slow and weak. You get this in the ice cream factory (duh, like it isn’t obvious) but after you have bought it. The GTA 3 version was so much better. Mule: Another GTA 3 classic, durable and slow, the default vans. Again, watch tipping it on bends. Oceanic: It looks the part, with a weird colour scheme, and reminds me of Cadillac’s, but it's pretty average. Still, nice car to cruise in. Packer: An interesting truck this. It has a ramp, used to carry cars on. It doesn't actually carry them, but you can drive up it for a makeshift ramp. It is good to try and send cop cars flying over the top and flip them by turning away. Pretty slow but strong. Can't be damaged by the rear though. Quite a nice ride! Another trick is to drive forward in reverse, down the wrong side of the road. The cars will ride up the ramp and fall off. Hilarious! ... for a while. Patriot: GTA 3 classic, this Hummer replica is fast, strong and off road. It's a great choice, but isn't seen commonly on the streets. This car is however found in the film studio, and the hanger in Phil Cassidy's gun shop. Worth nabbing! It's the only thing I can think of that looks good square. Perennial: Slow estate car, average speed, average durability, just square, and average. A GTA 3 classic, but just not a good car. Phoenix: Hello KIP, it's the car from Nightrider! Well, actually, it doesn't talk, but it will speed down the road. Pretty suave and quite strong, a good choice for VC. Looks very suave too. Police Car: Very fast, quite strong, siren to boot, you can get down roads in seconds. Nab them in police stations, or try luring the cops out as they do their rounds. Become bad enough, and they'll be after you! *gulp* Pony: Doesn't look like the GTA 3 Transit replica, more like the Rumpo of GTA 3. Slightly slower than the Burrito, but still quite durable. Rancher: Quite reasonable, it has good speed and is durable, good off road too. However, the FBI version has 4 doors, and is just generally better. In tight situations, it'll do quite well though. Regina: A better Perennial basically, better acceleration, slightly stronger, it's quite a good car in my opinion. The wood panelling looks good though, a classic family estate. Rhino: This tank is the strongest vehicle in the game. It will destroy anything except another Rhino tank. It will survive hundreds of knocks, explosions, but is slower than a paralysed snail. However, the turret on the front, apart from being an offensive weapon, can give you a boost. Turn it around so it faces the rear, and constantly fire while driving. You will be going incredibly fast. (Circle is fire) Romero's Hearse: More a novelty this one. You only have one chance to see it, so nab it in the mission 'Two Bit Hit' for Avery Carrington. Good speed and durability, but don't waste it though, as it's rare. Rumpo: Looks like the 'Pony' in GTA 3. Hmm, they switched looks. Still, it's ugly, slow but durable. Another default van. Sabre: Like a Starsky and Hutch car, this is a reasonable driving car. Good acceleration and speed, quite strong too, this isn't bad. Sabre Turbo: Seen when Hillary drives it in a race during Malibu jobs, you get to drive it during the Sunshine Autos jobs. It's the same car except in reddish brown with white stripes, and has a faster engine. Just.. Better, basically. Sandking: Another Sunshine Autos car, this is a 4X4, except with great speed and acceleration, with reasonable durability. Despite this being a good off road motor, it still is prone to tipping. Strangely, I've driven over cars in this. Securicar: GTA 3 classic! Have to say it. These cars have been known to be bulletproof, but I don't seem to have problems shooting one down. Strong car, will take a lot of knocks, but it's size, being van-like, and it's slow speed, means it isn't one to bardge. It isn’t a good choice. Sentinel: The car in GTA 3 was more rounded off, this square version however, don't look too bad. The BMW of GTA, it's reasonably paced, while being strong and big. The XS is a better choice if seen. Sentinel XS: Same car, except with a spoiler, a grill over the rear window, and a bit more speed. Still the same strength. Spand Express: It's a Mule with a brand on it. It is no different, still the box on wheels. Stallion: This car featured in GTA 3, and similarly, has rear-heel like driving, which means it is dodgy on the steering, like the Idaho. It is good when it gets up to speed, and is average durability. Stinger: Nice smart convertible, quite rarely seen. It has the same 'super car' stats, being very fast, but quite weak. Stretch: Reasonable strength, but slow. It's long, so turning is a small problem. Found on the right side of the stairs at Diaz's mansion. Taxi: Faster than the Cabbie, and reasonably paced, plus it can take a few knocks. Not a bad choice. Top Fun: It's a Rumpo, but when you enter, you play a mini game, flying or driving model vehicles. After the mini mission, it's yours to drive ... yay ...*sigh* Trashmaster: Smash through measly cars with this stinking pile of crap. Slow though, and doesn't like hills, prone to tipping too. But, when it gets in motion, it'll take a lot to get in its way. Undercover Cheetah: Only difference here is you can do Vigilante mission in this, and it has a siren. Might be cool, if you want to bust criminals the suave way. Virgo: It's a reasonably strong car. Ok durability, and has a good speed. Looks smart, but reminds me of the hearse. Voodoo: This has to be the coolest car. Haitians drive these, and they have a ride on their hands. Press L3 to raise and lower the suspension, and move the R3 stick left, right, up and down to move the suspension about. You can nearly flip these things if you go mental in the suspension. I wonder what people think when they see you go at the suspension in this thing? Hmmmmm....... Walton: More poor than Porsche, this ride looks like its a few decades ahead of its time. Average stats here. Washington: The Mercedes of GTA looks respectable, and it is. Good driving is to be done with this car, with above average stats. But, the FBI version is better. Yankee: Like a Mule, and a Boxville, and a Benson ... It's a truck. With pictures on the side. Another truck .. It however, is a stronger than usual truck, and although slow, can barge a bit. Might prove useful to clear the cops out of your way. Zebra Cab: When you complete the Kaufman Cabs missions, this appears in their garage. It's faster and looks much funkier than the normal cab, and has radio stations, so you won't be bored stiff doing your job. Still the same durability, which isn’t that bad. :Motorbikes: Overall, nippier around traffic than cars, these are good for weaving in and out of traffic. They seem to be less effected by being destroyed, unless specifically fired at, since you would die quicker than the bike braking, by crashing. Be careful on these beasts. Angel: Pretty similar to the Freeway, has good speed and can be quite strong. This has the speed advantage over the Freeway. Faggio: Scooters 1. DON'T look cool and 2. DON'T get you away from the cops. However, if desperate, they are quite nippy, so in traffic, you'll be on a winner. Freeway: A stronger version of the Angel, but not as much speed. The differences are minute though, so either is good. PCJ 600: This is fast. This is probably the fastest thing in the game. This is VERY fast! When going down the motorways, even the slightest improper turn, or clip over the kerb will send you flying. So, be very careful. Pizza Boy: It's slightly faster than the Faggio, but still is naff. You might as well wear the Pizza Boy employee hat. This won't impress the ladies one bit! Sanchez: The off road bike, this scrambler has ok acceleration, good suspension and is a good alternative, if the PCJ isn't around. :Aircraft: A nice straightforward route over town. In durability terms, smashing into walls is bad, and will make it blow up after a few nasty shots. Make sure not to launch too far forward in the helicopters, as to not crash into the ground. Hunter: It's a tank in the air, or otherwise known as an Apache helicopter. Which is used in wars ..... Big wars ..... This thing has good speed, a mounted machine gun and dual rockets, similar to rocket launcher rounds. Either 100 packages, or 100 % completion will get you this, but the police will have no chance, if you can master the tricky aim. Maverick: The default helicopter in VC, quite fast, and good transport, with its 4 seats. Police Maverick: Just the same as the original. It's a shame, since Police usually have decent craft. Still, it looks cooler, but is it worth losing the VC radio? Sea Sparrow: It's a Sparrow, except it can land in the sea. Limited use, since you can't swim, but I suppose it's a good learning vehicle, for those who haven't mastered helicopter flying. Also, it does come with a chain gun seen on the Hunter. You get this behind the Diaz mansion, if you get 80 packages. Skimmer: It's a Dodo, but it has wings, and is a seaplane. Taking off can be a problem, despite the wings; the waves seem to slow the plane. Also, land this on the ground, and since it has no wheels, you will be stranded. Sparrow: Same as the Sea Sparrow, except without machine gun, and ability to land on the sea. Sparrow is a good nippy helicopter, but slightly weaker than it's bigger brother, the Maverick. VCN Maverick: A speedier version, which is sensitive to the touch. Rarely found, in the first island on the roof of the VCN building, this isn't incredibly special. :Boats: I rarely use these, but boats can be a good way to get from the law, when helicopters aren’t about. Crashing isn't too much of a problem with these. Coast Guard: Faster than most, but it isn't a special boat. Quite commonly found. Cuban Jetmax: Good handling, it's a nice choice. Rare to find, but is a dream on the rough seas. Dinghy: Not really a choice for the criminal. It's a resort if you have nothing else, or nowhere else, but it floats... Marquis: It's a little on the small side, but don't underestimate it. It has ok control, is reasonably fast, and can stand up for itself. Predator: The Police boat, great name too, this has the speed, and the firepower to rule the seas. Reefer: The 'Manana' of ships, there have to be better options, but none the less, it floats ... *sigh* Rio: A classy boat, I've tried parking bikes on its large surface area, but to no avail. That's some dodgy physics ... Slow and lacks control, it isn't the sailors choice. Speeder: Quite nippy, this is reasonable for travel. The Jetmax and Squalo are faster, but this is quite good enough. Squalo: Fastest boat about, controls are harder, so plan ahead of your voyages. Tropic: Not a fruit juice, but is a class ride. Like the Rio, it's slow and sticky to control. Not the best choice. The weapons :Close hand combat: In desperation, your fists can do the job. You decide, if you want the modified with metal. Brass Knuckles: Obviously better than fists, can knock anyone down for 6, but don't finish the job. Fists: Default starting weapon, a few hits will knock someone down, but get some 'jewellery' to hit harder. :Close combat weapons: They are more stronger than fists, depending on your choice will depend on their effect. Some will injure slightly more than a right hand, others will leave them drowning in their own blood. Baseball Bat: I wasn't ever a fan of baseball, but I think I'll take up the sport after seeing the potential of this lump of wood... There however are deadlier methods. Chainsaw: One slice with this gore fest weapon, and they won't mess with you. Dig it in deeper, while they are on the floor for extra blood. Golf Club: Similar to a bat, found in Leaf Links golf course. Just remember to forget to shout '4!!' Hammer: If I 'ad an 'amma, an 'amma in the mornin', I'd use it on the public ... There are better choices. Katana: A samurai sword is a good way of being noticed. One slice with this baby and you can get your foe in a bin bag. How convenient! Knife: you aren’t a petty mugger, but none the less, if you are short of the big weapons, this will aid your hacking up skills. Machete: Complete the look, and get the 'bank job' suit from the Malibu (by completing the missions) and change your name to Jason. Sweeeet! Meat Cleaver: A chef's favourite weapon, this is good for that insane look. Not a good choice however, the bigger weapons do better justice. Nightstick: If the police ever give you problems, kill a cop, get his nightstick and beat them all down. How refreshing! Screwdriver: Good for getting that spinach out of teeth. Will scratch up a car good too! :Throwables: It's a choice of grenades, Molotov’s, or teargas. It's up to you, on whether you want to burn, blow up, or make it cry. NOTE: Cars don't cry! Detonating grenade: Throw a grenade, and wait. Some stupid person walks over it, press the magic button and bang! Good if your aim isn't good. However, an error in the game means if you have completed it 100 %, and thus have infinite ammo, when you throw the grenade, you are stuck on the remote control. Grenade: Good bit of explosive. Lob this in the way of cars on the move, and watch them skip in the air and drive off on fire, before hearing a big boom. Molotov Cocktail: A nice blend of old bottle, petrol, newspaper and fire creates a flaming circle where it lands. People in the area will burn to death. Watch out, as you can easily feel the heat. Teargas: A temporary crippling method of messing up the public, rather satisfying to just laugh while they cry. But, grenades are much more versatile. :Pistols: A gun is useful, but after a while, the humble pistol won't do enough. If you'll be on the move a lot, the Colt might be better. Those who stand their ground will enjoy the effectiveness of the Python. Colt 45: Basic pistol, cops usually carry them. You can run and fire with this, which is good, but it takes a few shots. Python: One shot kill, have to be stationary. However, it will quickly plough through enemies on your tail. :Shotguns: Choose from the farmer's sheep defender, the gangsters modification, and the swat teams death weapon. Shotgun: The basic shotgun, makes a loud noise, does good damage, however quite slow. Spaz Shotgun: Spaz isn’t the right word. More like psycho! This thing is rapid fire, and is just mentally powerful. When you complete the game and get faster reload, this is like a machine gun. Blimey! Stubby Shotgun: Slightly faster reload, still not a match for the Spaz. :Sub Machine Guns: Pocket punch packers will not only aide you on the streets, but in a car, so choose wisely. Mac 10: Not by Gillette, but just as cool (bad joke). A good rapid-fire gun but is only good up close. MP5: It's a relief to see there is a substitute for the great AK-47 in GTA 3. This is near as powerful, and works as an Uzi, meaning it's going to do wonders in drive bys. FBI carries these weapons. Tec 9: Similar to the Mac 10 really, nothing spectacular. Uzi 9mm: Again, similar to the other generic Uzi’s, all good, but don't stand up to the MP5. :Assault Rifles: The stronger of machine guns, these have the power to take down helicopters if you have the aim and patience. Colt M4: Faster than the Ruger, and more accuracy. Just a better gun overall. The army carry these guns, so watch out. Thank god they don't have the ferocious M16s of GTA 3. Those were instant killers ... :P Ruger: A good gun, but not as fast or accurate on range. :Sniper Rifles: Cool, calm and collected one shot kills, or spray them with *SHOT*SHOT*SHOT*. What's your style? PSG 1: It has rapid fire, so if you mess up a first shot, you have another 7 or so quick ones you can blast. That's its only advantage that it's clip based, but it's a good one. Sniper Rifle: Reloads each shot, good aimers won't be affected too much, but the PSG 1 is the better option. :Heavy Weapons: All are godly, and will get you to 6 stars, just for walking around with these babies (not really, don't worry :P). Flame Thrower: Crisp up some cop! Flame Throwers are incredibly useful, as they can destroy tanks!! Yes, if you hold it on a tank long enough, it WILL explode! Not much use though, but still, it's a great weapon. Slow to destroy vehicles, but it does it. Good on people though. M60: Strong rounds will slice and dice anyone in its path, but it can get very inaccurate. There are better options than this hyped up M4. Minigun: This will go through anything. It fires rounds like there's no tomorrow, and will plough through cars, cops, and even helicopters. However, it doesn't have easy aim, since it self-targets, and can be difficult to use. Rocket Launcher: Fires explosive rockets, exploding cars instantly. It's a good weapon to have. :The Final Score: So, now we know what the items we have to our disposal, what do I recommend the choice weapons and transport for the town? Cars: For driving, I recommend the Cop Car. It is very fast, and reasonably durable. However, for the cool factor, it has to be the Voodoo. Jeeps: The FBI Rancher has good stability and speed, but the BF Injection is a close match. The Sandking also, but is prone to flipping. But, those last 2 win over the dull Rancher for coolness. Trucks: The Fire truck is a beast. It will plough through cars like skittles. The Packer has a useful ramp to lead cars to their flipped death, and The Mr Whoopee van is hauntingly funny to kill in it. Bikes: The PCJ 600 is blisteringly fast, but to go off road, the Sanchez is very stable. Aircraft: The Hunter wins hands down. The weaponry is fierce, and doing Vigilante missions in it is incredible. Boats: I prefer the Predator, due to the fact it has a machine gun on it. However, the Squalo or Jetmax is blisteringly fast. You'd have a trouble shooting those down! Special Vehicles: The Rhino Tank is just the best. It is near harmless, and has a turret. The police will have a job taking you down in that thing. But, it is hilarious to go on a killing spree in a golf cart. But, for pure speed, the Hot ring Racer will give a PCJ a run for its money. Hand-to-Hand: Brass Knucks are cool, since they are just more effective, but having a punch up, and having them stand weary and dazed is cool to take pot shots. Melee: The Chainsaw is heavy, but is a gore fest weapon. It will paint the town red. Pistol: The Python is devastatingly powerful to sorry people who stand in its way. Although the Colt is rapid firing, and is a weapon you can use on the move, it is weak. Shotguns: The Spaz, quite simply put, is insane. It is like a shotgun on steroids, and will make mince out of most things in seconds. Sub-Machine Gun: The MP5 is a good alternative, to my missed AK-47. Its auto aim is useful, and it's precise. Drive bys will never go wrong with this in your hand. Assault Rifles: The M4 is faster and more accurate. It is just better than the Ruger. However, I wish the M16 were in this game. Sniper Rifles: The PSG1 is the same as a Sniper Rifle, except has a clip of shots, instead of loading each shot once. Much more reliable. Heavy Weapons: It's a hard choice, but this is one I can only leave to you. The Flamethrower is good against people, and can destroy tanks and cars nicely. The Minigun is very quick, and can mince things up, and the rocket launcher is instant death. All I suggest is you don't go for the M60, since the M4 does its job just as good.
