Monster Hunter Walkthrough for PlayStation 2 Game Name: Monster Hunter Format: PlayStation 2 Submitted By: yukimura These are the first quests of 1 star difficulty on monster hunter. And the first quest on 2 star mode. First you start of by making your character Which is pretty simple. After you have made your character You are asleep on your bed when you wake up go out of the house and go north to find the cheif. He will give you 1500z (zeni) and you can spend it to buy armour save up and get a better weapon. Whichever way you choose go back and talk to the cheif he will tell you that you need to do an urgent quest of finding raw meat.Take the quest and leave the town. You can get some supplies out of the blue box i would get out the map and the mini whetstone as this sharpens your weapon. Go into area 1 and you will see your first monsters dont worry these dont usually hurt you unless you aggrivate them. Kill one of them and carve them up and you will hopefully get 2 pieces of raw meat.( If you want to try and get sm monster bones to build bone blade after quest then kill more.) go back to camp and deliver 2 pieces of raw meat and you have done your first quest Hurray!When you complete the quest you will get some rewards take them grab yor reward money and save. When you get back into the villiage if you didnt spend your moneyand you have 3 sm monster bones go to the armour shop and create a bone blade. ( This is a really good weapon but it is slow its good for novices or buy a crossbow its your choice really.) Go and talk to the cheif again and you will get a choice of quests i'd suggest you do them in order but if you dont want to then thats up to you. Preparing meat quest This quest is basically the same as the first one but you have to cook 2 pieces of meat. Get the map, mini whetstone and the portable spit from the supply box and go to area 1 again. ( If yu have two pices of meat cook them and deliver them and go to the next chapter if not keep reading.) Kill a monster again and get the meat then get the spit out and wait till the music stop and then wait till it starts to turn a different colour then press x. do this as many times as you want because then you can sell the well done steak you have left over. go to camp and deliver steak. Quest completed whoo-hoo! I'd suggest you buy armour at this point because things will get a little rough if you havent already done so. Collecting items quest this one is easy get the map, whetstone and the first aid potions. you will se you have unlocked a few new areas. Go through area 1 into area 2 when you get there you will notice a tree if you go near it and search by pressing x you will find herbs which you need for the quest get 2 and climb up the ivy by pressing x and go into area 6. There are 2 boar like creatures in here and will attack if you attack them. This is where it gets tricky you have to climb all the way up the top to get the spider web. use the right side to get up to the top but it will take you a long time. When you reach the top go over to the spider web and search when you have a spider web you must get down ( Dont be afraid to jump you dont lose any life.) When you have the 3 items go back to the camp and deliver them.See easy isn't it. Combining items quest This is another easy quest you need to make 2 potions which you can make by combining a blue mushroom with a herb. You know were to find the herbs so get two of them then go back into area 6 to find the blue mushrooms you must kill the boars if your lucky they will give you a blue mushroom each if not go out and come back. when you have the items bring up the menu (start button) And go on combine and pick the mushroom and the herb and pick ok do this 2 times then deliver them. Yee-haw another quest down 2 to go. If you still haven't go armour i would really advise you to get some now. You have been warned. Fishing quest This one is tricky you must catch a sushifish all the way in area 11. Get some supplies and head out toward area 11. When you get to area 11 a little cutscene will kick in. immediatly after it has finished run to a corner of the pond as a wild boar will charge at you this is a really tough enemy as it does some serious damage. If you have the bone blade or crossbow this will be easy, if not then get the kettle on. When the boar is out of the way get the crickets out and fish by pressing square this takes patience so dont throw your teddy out of the corner if you dont catch anything. when you do eventually catch a sushifish sprint back to the camp and deliver it. Hooray you have completed the first set of quests. Now i promised you the first quest of the 2nd part but you have been bad boys and girls so no quest for you. ( Only joking.) Now you really need to get some armour because things get messy if you die dont come crying to me. talk to the cheif and there will be an urgent quest take it and leave. Your first monster hunt Now this is the real challenge you have to find and kill 3 Velociprey! the first thing you have to do is get supplies from the box eg. map, potions/first aid, whetstone. Then go to area 8 a short cut scene will kick in and three velociprey will appear out of the trees now you must fight them. Velociprey are agile and powerful there bite is worse than there bark. ( This level will be easier for gunners as there are many vantage points.) at first concntrate on killing 1 ata time dont worry if they all attack you at once because if you have a big sword you should hit them all at once. Climb up a ledge and wait for one to jump up then hack away. Once all the velociprey are dead you will return to the village with a whole selection of goodies that you can sell or keep to make velociprey armour in the future.
