Welcome =============================================================================== Well done on purchasing a really great FPS, this will keep you hooked for hours. This walkthrough is a step by step guide to getting through the game. Use it as much or as little as you want to. But make sure you enjoy every moment of this great game!!!! =============================================================================== 2. Introduction =============================================================================== This is a Full walkthrough of Haze. A PS3 exclusive released on 5/20/08. Haze is the game that follows the story of Shane Carpenter as he goes on his journey in the war between the Mantel Corporation and the Promise Hand Rebels. =============================================================================== 3. Weapons =============================================================================== Here you will find a full list of the weapons in the game. I will be rating each weapon on a 5 star scale as accurate as possible as to what seemed to be the performance during the game. =============================================================================== Mantel Weapons list - "Diplomat": The Diplomat is the standard issued Mantel Pistol. When playing Haze, I found little use for this weapon. Though it is fun to see the Diplomats Stopping power, The shotgun is just as powerful and even a ittle faster. Power: ** Speed: Reload: Ammo: * Range: * - "Blacksaw": The Blacksaw is the primary Assault rifle used by Mantel This will be your main weapon during the early stages of the game. Quick and reliable. Power: * Speed: *** Reload: Ammo: Range: - "Donkey Puncher": The Donkey Puncher is the very powerful Mantel Shotgun. In my opinion, The Donkey Puncher is the more powerful of the two shotguns. In addition to that it just plain looks better then the rebel shotgun. Power: Speed: * Reload: Ammo: * Range: - "Hard Candy": The Hard candy is Mans best friend. The Rocket Launcher. Hard candy will not come into play until later on in the game. However it is very important at certain parts so be on the look out. Power: * Speed: Reload: Ammo: Range: *** - "B72 Sniper": The B72 Sniper is another powerful weapon that will not be used much in the game. In the beginning there are not many places that a sniper rifle is needed, and toward the end you will use the rebel sniper. Power: Speed: * Reload: Ammo: * Range: *** - "Spring Cleaner": These are the Mantel frag grenades. The grenades in the game are powerful as with any other game. You will have consistent enough use for the grenades throughout the game. Power: * Speed: -- Reload: -- Ammo: * Range: * - The "Razor Tounge": These are the knives used by the Promise hand rebels. Though the knives are fun to use (Throwing and stabbing), They just do not have any impact throughout the game and are often times left forgotten. Power: Speed: * Reload: -- Ammo: * Range: - The "Lobo": The Lobo is the primary assault rifle used by the rebels. In my opinion this is the best weapon in the game since it holds a little more ammo then the Mantel assault rifle. Power: * Speed: *** Reload: Ammo: * Range: - The "Oso": The Oso is the Rebel shotgun. As with the Donkey puncher, the Oso has great stopping power, however it just doesn't seem to have the impact of the donkey puncher. Power: * Speed: ** Reload: Ammo: * Range: - The "Mano del Dios": The mano Del Dios is a very powerful weapon in the game. This mini gun combines Speed, Power, and range all in one. Power: ** Speed: Reload: Ammo: ** Range: - The "Dragon De La Gente": The Dragon is the Rebel Flame Thrower used early on in the game. You will not see this weapon much, and will not have much use for it at all. This is a fun weapon for multiplayer but only causes headaches in single player Power: * Speed: Reload: Ammo: ** Range: * - The "Pinpointer": The pinpointer is the rebel sniper rifle used in the game. There will be some use for this in later missions, but overall this is another weapon that will be used more in multiplayer then in single. Power: ** Speed: * Reload: Ammo: * Range: *** - The "Malfruta": Rebel grenades. Used the same as Mantel grenades. Power: * Speed: -- Reload: -- Ammo: * Range: *** - Nectar Grenades: The nectar grenades prove useful when large numbers of troopers are in the same area. Tossing one of these will cause any near by troopers with the exception of the black ops to overdose. Power: * Speed: -- Reload: -- Ammo: * Range: * =============================================================================== 4. Vehicles =============================================================================== In this section I will only be listing the vehicles that are directly used by you. Which means only the vehicles you can drive and control yourself in single player. =============================================================================== - The "Boxcart": You will use the boxcart fairly early in the game. This is not the fastest vehicle in the game, but one of the strongest that you will actually be able to drive in the game. - The "Macho": The Macho is the Rebel Truck used a little later on in the game. This is a powerful vehicle with a good amount of speed as well. Go with this vehicle if you have a choice. - The "Mula": This is the Rebel dirt bike in the game. The vehicle is fast but weak. There aren't many opportunities in the game to actually put the speed and smaller size of the vehicle to use, but it is still a fun ride to two people. =============================================================================== Chapter 1: Mantel Land Carrier =============================================================================== The Game starts with the intro scene introducing you main character Shane Carpenter, and also introducing some fellow troops (watchstrap, Peshy, Duvall, and Teare). ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Once you reach the top of the landing carrier, you will gain control of Carpenter. Follow Duvall and the rest of the team straight ahead to the other end of the ship where you will meet a few more troops. Cutscene This time you will meet Sherman, Gilroy, and Wood. You will see a group of planes fly overhead. Enjoy the scene while it last. Keep an eye out for the fourth plane. This plane will be shot down by a missile in the far distance. Once you gain control, turn around and meet Duvall over at the close by chopper. Cutscene You will receive another scene where Duvall will kick Teare off of the mission. From here the chopper will take off and Duvall will begin talking about keeping everyone safe. When you reach your destination, the chopper door will open and you land. We now begin our journey on the battle field. =============================================================================== Chapter 2: Selva Region =============================================================================== New Objective: Enter the Jungle New Objective: Secure Crash Site ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Immediately turn around and begin taking down the rebels in the far off distance ahead. There should be 7-8 rebels in this area for you to take down. Due to all the trees and grass in the area, the rebels can be hard to see, so Make sure you use your nectar to give your self a power boost and all enemies will grow a bright yellow color. Once you have eliminated the rebels in the area, move south to the back of the jungle where you shot down the last three rebel attackers (South East). You can swipe out your weapons for any combination of two, so I suggest swiping out your pistol for one of the Assault rifles Objective Complete: Enter the jungle ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- From here, continue south East. Follow the narrow path, and you'll eventually be attacked by a rebel. Take him down and follow along to the right. Once you turn right, you will see a large branch up above stretching across. A single rebel will be waiting on top of the branch so beware. Shoot him and head forward. Continue forward to the end of the cliff and you will see 2 dropships fly over head dropping a number of bombs. New Objective: Wipe out the remaining rebels ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Once you regain control, use your nectar to see the enemies below. There will be around 7 rebels here to kill. Either shoot them from the here, or drop down and get up close and personal for a small gunfight. Once you are done here, move toward the south area and you will be attacked by more rebels coming from your right. Kill them and head toward the south west area. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Objective Complete: Wipe out the remaining rebels New Objective: Proceed to the crash site You will eventually come to a path. Follow this path all the way around until you reach the area that was just bombed by the two dropships. Continue straight across the destroyed area heading (toward the South east area) and you will meet with Duvall. You will meet up with Duvall and speak with him about your Nectar disruption. Once you have talked to him, continue on ahead down the path. You will come to a point and hear Gilroy yell "heads up". You should be attacked by a rebel from the right side area from above. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- New Objective: Eliminate rebel presence Objective complete: Proceed to crash site. Continue around and you will encounter about 10-12 rebels in this area. Kill them all. Objective Complete: Eliminate rebel presence ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- At this point you are joined by Duvall. You will be instructed to enter the crashed plane to check on the pilot. New Objective: Check the pilots condition Cutscene The pilot ask if you can see him, and tells you a little about his past career as a boxer. The pilot then eventually dies. Objective Complete: Check the pilots condition New Objective: Hold off the rebel counter attack CHECKPOINT Once this happens more rebels will attack from far off in the distance. A rebel chopper will emerge and deploy a few more rebel soldiers as well. You will have two groups of rebels come from the far end of the jungle, the left side of the jungle and then the right side. Once they are taken care of, head around to the opposite side of the crashed dropship, and there will be a second dropship waiting to pick you up. =============================================================================== Chapter 3: Return to the Landcarrier =============================================================================== Begin by following Duvall over to the weapon cases to meet up with peshy & Watchstrap. Cutscene Peshy & watchstrap begin talking about skincoat etc etc.. You then hear headquarters tell everyone to report to their dropships. Follow your team over and board the dropship and receive a cutscene Cutscene During the scene you receive some dialog about a distress signal. You then get new orders that skin coat has been located and you're going to his location. At that point you communicate with Duvall about prioritizing until you reach your location above Gabriel "skincoat" Merino. =============================================================================== Chapter 4: Caridad Quarry =============================================================================== While in your dropship you hear that Merino is right below you and you will be landing to capture him. Once the dropship lands, hop off and begin eliminating Rebels. There will be two ahead of you (one taking cover). Take them out and turn left and kill another. there should be about 3 total. Once you eliminate all the rebels, a Dropship will bring the Mantel "boxcart" for you. Hop on and drive up the path on the north side. At this point I would suggest getting used to the vehicle controls. Under the default, I found them to be a little tuff, but if you go to the control options you are able to switch the gas button to "R2" and reverse to "R1" Follow the circular path around until you reach the top. You will see a large building ahead. Drive through the entrance and out the other side. follow south and take the path down a couple of levels. when you reach the bottom you will come to a road block in the south corner and about 8 Mantel troops firing at you. Either let your troop�s dispatch of them, or take them out yourself. once they are gone, drive to the road block and look for the shed to the left. hop out the vehicle and head inside the shed to pull the lever next to the entrance. Get back into your vehicle and continue on. Follow the path all the way around until it slopes down to the right and three exploding barrels will fall from above. Let them fall and then continue to the next area. You will pass through a building with some more rebels. Here you can stop and kill the rebels or you can just drive pass. I suggest continuing to the next area. Beware here because the barrels in the area can and will explode if you run over them damaging your vehicle. Continue driving ahead. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- From this point on, there will be mines on each side of the walls around you. If you stay in the middle you can avoid them without taking much damage. when you get to the end of the path you will come to an open area. Continue forward through the building to the right and you will be attacked by a rebel truck. Exit out the left and drive up the ramp and over the gate. Here Another rebel truck will attack. Keep past this truck, bust through the gate and straight off the cliff ahead and continue. Try your best to avoid the mines, and continue ahead. If you make it to the end without having to exit your vehicle then you are an excellent driver. However If you begin to see a lot of black smoke and your vehicle begins to beep then hop out and continue by foot (A new vehicle will eventually spawn ahead). You will come to another building to pass under with a load of rebels waiting and firing at you. Do not stop to shoot just continue forward. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Follow the directions from your navigation voice and take the first jump followed by the second jump to the right in order to avoid the mines. After the second jump you will pass through another building where the will close once you get close. Hop out the Boxcart and shoot the 6 or 7 rebels in this area that ambush you. Once you have cleared the area head into the shed on the left side from the entrance to the area. Next to the door you will find a new lever to pull. Do so and head out. the gate will then open. Hop in your boxcart and continue to the next area. Facing southeast will be a path heading up. Follow this up and around to the top. The navigation tells you " You have reached your destination". Get off your boxcart and go through the gate to get a cutscene. Cutscene You will see Duvall run over a rebel in front of you. He tells you that you have skincoat cornered and he is in the mood for a medal. New Objective: Enter the old copper plant When you gain control, follow Duvall into the copper plant on the left hand side. Continue following Duvall until you receive your next cutscene Cutscene Duvall tells you about empty hands with the help of Peshy and Watchstrap. =============================================================================== Chapter 5: Caridad Smelting Plant =============================================================================== ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- New Objective: Capture Merino Objective Complete: Enter the old copper plant Start out following Duvall. You will have another Nectar Disruption, but continue following along. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Duvall tells you to go the opposite way from him. Follow through the door and around to the left and you will be joined by 3 more troopers. Follow around the corner ahead and you will see Merino running through an entrance on the left. New Objective: Get to maintenance room and activate lever. In this area you will immediately be attacked by 2 Rebels from the platforms above. Dispose of them and a few more should attack from up ahead. There will possibly be one from each side and one from above. As you continue on and reach the area with the steps leading up, kill the three rebels and follow the steps up and to the left until you reach the top. If you have a shotgun, now would be a good time to equip it. When you reach the top of the steps a group of rebels will come around the corner and attack. The shotgun should be able to take them out with very few shots. once you get rid of them, toss a grenade around the corner ahead to clear out any more rebels waiting behind cover. On this hall, there is a room on the left side at the far end. You need to reach this room. You will be attacked by 5-7 more rebels along the way, so watch the areas to the left. when you reach the end of the room go to the far side and pull the lever in the middle. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- New Objective: Get to control room and activate lever Objective Complete: Get to the maintenance room and activate lever Exit from this room and back down the hall you just came from, but make the first right. If you have an assault rifle, equip it and head to the doorway. Once you step out, two rebels will attack from the platforms above. There will be one on each side. Shoot them and head to the other side. before going all the way across the bridge, toss a grenade into the area ahead to kill the 3 rebel attackers and continue around to the room on the right. Find a lever on the far end of the room and pull it. Objective Complete: Get to control room and activate lever New Objective Get to section D You will see the gate open and have a nectar disruption. Turn around and head back the way you got hear. When you reach the bridge you will be attacked by 2 more rebels in the same area as before, only this time they are on the opposite side. Head out and around all the way back to the steps that you used to get to this level. There will be 2 rebels on the platform above. Shoot them and head down. When you get far enough outside the steps, another rebel will begin shooting from the platform behind you. Continue heading back to where you first seen merino and kill the 3-4 rebels that attack along the way. When you get close to the hall that Merino made his exit through, use your shotgun to blast the group of rebels that attack from around the corner. Proceed down the narrow hallway. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- New Objective: Proceed deeper into copper plant complex Objective Complete: Get to section D In this next area there will be another group of rebels waiting to attack. Use you nectar here since it's a dark area and the rebels are pretty spread out. You may want to toss a grenade in before hand. Hopefully any rebels will dive out into the open and leave them open for a shot. Once you have taken care of the rebels in the area head for the steps ahead. Once you get onto the steps, they will begin to blow, so be sure not to take to much time standing around. When you get close enough to see the fire fight going on below, attempt to shoot a few of the rebels to make your job easier. Once you reach the bottom you will have a nectar overdose and you will not be able to tell the rebels from the troops. There are some metal objects directly ahead of you so use these to duck down behind until your overdose wears off. Once it does, head North and around the corner to the right. You will see another set of steps on your right side. Shoot the rebels that come down the steps and look out for a couple more taking cover ahead. In this area, stay as far away from the rebels as possible since some will be carrying a flame thrower that can do some serious damage to you. Should you get caught on fire, Shake your PS3 controller back and fourth to put your self out and head through the doorway. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- In the next room you will look left and kill the rebel that attacks. Now the steps you have to get to are on the right side, however I found it easiest to follow around to the left from where you just shot the first rebel. When you get around to the left corner, you will see two more rebels coming from the middle area to attack. kill them both with you assault rifle. Move toward the control room in the middle and make a left. There will be at least 3 more rebels here attacking from both sides. kill them and head to your right until you reach the steps leading up. Move up these steps to the next area. When u reach the top of the steps and turn, there will be a group of rebels shooting from straight ahead and another single rebel with a flame thrower to your left. Shoot the rebel with the flame thrower first. and then turn and toss a grenade at the other rebels. Follow the path where you just shot the rebel carrying the flame thrower, and make the first right. Kill the next rebel you see here and continue forward. You will see a room here in the middle. Just ignore it and follow the path to the right. Shoot any rebels you encounter, and continue around to the left. from here just follow the wall until you reach the next opening on the right (shooting any rebels that attack). Take this entrance way all the around to the next area. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Objective Complete: Proceed deeper into copper plant complex When you get to the next area, head to the left and you will end up outside. You are then told that you will need to destroy a server controlling the AA Guns firing at the dropships. New Objective: Destroy the server controlling AA guns. You will receive a Nectar Disruption at this point and be attacked by 4 rebels. shoot them and continue ahead. follow the steps to the right, and once across the bridge you are attacked by 2 more rebels. Keep in mind that you will see random barrels in this area. you can shoot these for a nice explosion and often times kill multiple rebels with a few shots. continue forward. If you have a shot gun, switch to it and beware of any rebels running out from around corners. you will be attacked by about 5 rebels, so kill them and continue until you see the steps to the right heading down. Take these steps down and in the far distance, you will be able to see a couple of bright red flares. These will mark the direction you need to follow, so continue ahead. The first flare will be on a ramp. walk up and over the ramp and head forward. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Continue forward until you see another set of steps leading up. Take these steps. When you reach the top turn around and you will see a rebel running toward you firing. shoot him, then a second rebel, and then a third. Continue moving forward. As you proceeding, you will be attacked by 6-7 rebels (one managed to get behind as I got near the flare so beware of anyone attacking from behind. One of these rebels will be carrying a mini gun. I suggest swiping out your shotgun for this since it provides great range and power. You will eventually see a second flare and a room on the left. continue past the flare and into this room. Once in the room, on the left side you will see the Server. You will notice it because it is right next to a table with a laptop. Shoot the server to blow it up. Objective Complete: Destroy the server controlling the AA guns. Once you destroy the server, continue heading across and past the red flare. Follow the metal bars on the left side until you get to an opening, and drop down. You will lose a little health but you will survive the fall & your health will regenerate. Straight in front of you, you should see another opening. Drop down through this one as well. and you will see a set of steps in front of you. walk down these steps and the dropship with destroy the objects blocking your path to the left. move through the now open area and make sure you equip your mini gun. 5 rebels will come around the corner firing, but you will easily defeat them with the mini gun. New Objective: Follow the Crucibles. Follow the Crucibles around the narrow pathway. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Beware of rebels attacking from both sides. there should be about 9-10. Take the first set of steps on the left side up to the top of the platform to get an easier shot at anyone coming from up ahead or across on the right side. The first 2 rebels will attack on the left side. As you proceed ahead 1 will attack from across on the right side. Finish him, and continue forward and there will be 6-7 more rebels ahead coming from the openings on the left. Continue forward and carpenter will tell Duvall that he is no longer able to follow the path of the crucibles. New Objective: Change the Crucible path Once you hear this, go into the next entrance on your left side. Waiting at the doorway will be a couple more rebels. Use which ever power weapon you have to take care of them. follow through to the control room and look for the lever on your right, and pull it. Objective Complete: Change the Crucible Path ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Head back out the way you came in and you will see the large metal passage opening right across from the control room. You will then have a nectar disruption. continue on where the passage just opened. on the other side there will be three rebels waiting for you. either shoot them, or shoot the barrel behind them for a big explosion. once you have dealt with them, exit to the right. Objective Complete: Follow the Crucibles Follow this dirt passage all the way through and you will see Merino on top of a very large platform in the "smelting room". New Objective: Find the moving walkway controls and use it to follow Merino ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Go to the edge of the walkway you are currently on & aim down to see a rebel below. shoot him before proceeding down the ladder. There will be another one below, so be careful when going down. If you wait a couple seconds, one of your fellow troops should head down the ladder and keep the rebel busy until you reach the bottom. Once you get to the bottom of the ladder, move to the far right (notice the damaged control panel on the left) and there will be another ladder. Proceed down this ladder. Once at the bottom follow around the right side of the lava pit. You will see a corner, and some windows ahead on the right. There will be a rebel hiding behind the so make sure you are ready for him, and there will be 2 rebels behind the glass windows, so be ready to shoot them as well. Here you can no longer walk across the right without falling into the pit, so follow around on the left edge. I would suggest staying up top rather then dropping down to the middle (its narrow but you should be able to navigate easily without falling in the lava). You will see 2 rebels come from the left side. dispose of them and continue forward. You will see more glass windows on the right. Kill the 1 rebel behind the glass, and then zoom in to kill the 2 at the far end ahead. Once you have finished the last two proceed to the area where they were just standing to find the control panel. Press the button and turn around. you will now see the platform which Merino was just on. Begin to move back toward the start of this area. Just back track all the way back and up the ladder to where you previously seen the broken control panel and wait for the platform to reach you and hop on. Once on the platform, walk to the other side & to the far left, push the button on the control panel. here you will be attacked by some rebels from a bridge up above. You can either choose to shoot them, or duck down and take cover behind some of the objects on the platform and just wait until you reach the other side. You will have a nectar disruption. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- New Objective: Find the moving walkway controls and use it to follow Merino When you reach the other side, hop off the platform and continue through the doorway. follow the path to the end to receive a cut scene. Objective Complete: Capture Merino Cutscene You will receive a cut scene where Merino tells you The strongest weapon in a war is confidence, and that there are two sides to every war. Duvall along with peshy and watchstrap will come in and take Merino to the elevator across from yours and you will see them chop off one of Merinos fingers. New Objective: Follow Duvall's squad to the evac point Once you gain control, just walk forward and wait for Duvall and you will all board the Dropship. Objective Complete: Follow Duvall's squad to the evac point End of Chapter Cutscene You will receive another cut scene where Duvall orders you to get onto the dropship. You will here peshy tell Duvall that Merino owes him another hand. When Duvall attempts to cut off the hand, You will aim your weapon at him and Merino will try to get free. Watchstrap will fire a round from his gun, but miss and the Dropship will loose power and crash into the swamp. =============================================================================== Chapter 6: Deserted Swamp =============================================================================== ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Once you gain control, you will find yourself in the deserted swamp. Without moving, turn immediately right, and you will see another part of the destroyed dropship and a large tree. Also behind this part of the dropship and under the tree you should see some very small yellow lights. move over to these lights. Once you have located the yellow lights, follow them the rest of the way. Sometimes they will seem to go through the trees, or rocks. Simply walk around the object and continue to follow the lights. Eventually you will here the Black ops say that you must be going through withdrawal and the path of yellow lights will run out. You will come to a cliff. You will hear the Black Ops say say that you are a "code Haze, terminate with extreme prejudice". New Objective: Escape Mantel Ambush. Drop down the cliff and you will see a spot light searching for you. You will also hear a rebel say "Carpenter I was sent to help you. follow me" ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- New Objective: Follow the Rebel Guide Move past the spotlight and follow the rebel ahead. He will lead you to the next area. You will be shot at by Mantel troops in the area, but just continue following the rebel ahead and you should reach the next area without taking to much damage. He will lead you through the swamp and across a bridge. Continue following and he will eventually stop at a secret underground passage. You will hop down in the passage with the rebel automatically. - End of Chapter - =============================================================================== Chapter 7: Cidade de Deus =============================================================================== ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Objective Complete: Escape Mantel Ambush When you gain control again, continue in underground passage following the rebel to the next area. Objective Complete: Follow the Rebel guide. Cutscene You receive a cutscene where you are waking up, and see 3 shadow figures above you speaking in a another language. You eventually here Merino say "Let me carry you". Your view will blur in and out. Merino tells you about the Nectar drugs, and tells you that the nectar makes you see the world "neat and tidy" rather then as it actually is. When you awaken, Merino will be in the room with you. He will help you walk to the next area, talking to you about the war, and joining the Mantel troops. you will eventually come to an area where you are able to stand on your own. You will see someone fall from the sky and you will see Duvall, Peshy, and watchstrap ahead. Duvall tells you "you're not a carnivore, just meat like them". He seems to have gone crazy, and he eventually jumps in a nearby truck and leaves peshy and watchstrap behind. New Objective: Steal watchstraps gun New Objective: Kill watchstrap and Peshy ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Once you gain control, head forward into the open doorway that Duvall just busted through. Watchstrap will be firing at you, so avoid being hit and follow him into the entrance to the left. when you get close enough, melee him and while he is stunned, grab his gun out of his hand and shoot him. Objective Complete: Steal watchstraps gun Head back out the entrance way you just came through, and head back toward the door that Duvall previously broke through. do not go out, instead look to your left and you will see another open door. go through this door and head up the steps. You will come to a doorway on the right where Peshy will be waiting. He will fire once you come around the corner, so be careful. Shoot him down. Cutscene receive a cut scene where you see the death of Peshy, and you tell Merino that you are a traitor. Merino tells you that you are now on the right side. Objective Complete: Kill watchstrap and peshy When you regain control follow Merino back downstairs to where you first seen Duvall. he will be waiting over to the far left. Merino will tell you that he wants you to take the squad there. Follow Merino to the Chopper to fly to Gambou south beach. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- As you get on the Chopper, you are sitting there with a rebel troop that refuses to speak to you. merino will tell you that they will speak when they are ready. =============================================================================== Chapter 8: Gambou South Beach =============================================================================== Start out in the rebel chopper sitting across from a silent rebel. When the chopper lands, hop off and move forward. Starting now you will have a few new weapons and features at your disposal. New Objective: Make your way to the beached container ship ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- I would suggest you swipe out your knives for the Oso from under one of the tents. New Objective: Drive to the Beach Hop on the "Mule" up ahead and allow your partner time to hop on the back. Proceed straight ahead down the path. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- follow the flares straight ahead, and your partner will fire on the rebels you pass. Just continue following the flares. Eventually your partner may get shot down off of the mule. Just continue riding forward. If you follow the flares, you will come to a ramp. Continue over this ramp and head forward. Objective Complete: Drive to the beach. New Objective: Traverse the beach CHECKPOINT Once you reach the beach, follow it along and around and you will come to a barricade. New Objective: Use the mortar to destroy the blockade. Turn around and follow the wall on your right hand side. You will see a Mantel dropship drop off some troops, just continue past them. you will come to another path on the right. go up here and immediately jump off the "mule" and turn around and the path will lead up one more level. follow this to the shed at the end with the mortar controls. Approach this shed, and kill the two troops standing in your way. Use the fixed gun in between the two windows. Zoom in to see the barricade, but aim at the large rocks behind it. Fire the Mortar at the large rocks. Objective Complete: Use the mortar to destroy the blockade. Head back to the blockade and kill any troops that approach. there should be 6-7 troops in the area. Also look out for the little rebel bases hear since they have turret guns attached, and these can be pretty deadly. Find a new mule in the area, and hop on. When you reach blockade, move under through the open area. Ride the mule around the beach until you reach a structure with a brown gate blocking the way. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- New Objective: Navigate through the fortress Hop off the mule and look for the door way along the wall to the left. proceed through the doorway and to the left. Shoot the Mantel Troop here and you will come to another doorway on the right. If you have not done so, swipe out your knife with the D118 Combat shotgun and head through the door way. Turn left & move up the steps and kill the troops at the top. One will be standing on the ledge above and one will come around the corner at the top of the steps. When you reach the top of the steps turn around & come to a doorway on your right. A mantel troop with a shotgun will come around the corner so look out for him. continue through the doorway and follow around to the right and then through the next doorway on the right. Kill the 2 troops here & follow to the left. Go through the doorway at the top of these steps. You are now in the closed structure. head down the steps to your left. On your way down you will run into 3 troops. Kill them and get to the bottom. Pull the lever at the bottom of the steps (to the right of the gate) to open the gate. hop back on the mule and drive through the now open gate. Objective Complete: Navigate through the fortress New Objective: Pass safely through the mine field. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- This next area will be filled with land mines. hop off the mule and shoot the mines to clear your path. once it is clear, hop back on the mule and continue driving forward. and around to the right and you will find a ramp. drive over the ramp and continue forward. Objective Complete: Pass Safely through the mine field. Follow the path around the beach and you will drive under a large rock structure. Objective Complete: Make your way to the beached container ship New Objective: Enter the container ship. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- You will see another dropship letting off some troops. Drive pass this ship & follow the beach toward the right. try to stay toward the edge near the water so you do not lose your way. Eventually you will see the container ship. New Objective: Escape mantel Ambush Continue following the beach along the edge and in between the large rocks and you will see some blue containers and a rock. drive behind these containers and you will see the entrance. Hop off the mule and head in. Objective Complete: Escape the Mantel ambush Objective Complete: Traverse the beach Objective Complete: Enter the container ship Once you head in, you will see a open green container tilted down. walk through this container to reach the top. follow the path of the containers all the way around until you come to the next open green container. move through this one. Continue following up top and around to the right until you get to the on top of the red container closest to the wall. Drop down off the red container and you will meet up with some more rebels. =============================================================================== Chapter 9: The Falcon =============================================================================== New Objective: Search the containership for the source of the distress signal. There will be a door on the left. Melee it to break it down and head through. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Head up the steps to the right. there should be three flights. When you reach the top, go to the end of the hall and through the doorway on the right. Once you go through the door, head to the right and down the steps. then down the next flight behind you as well. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- When you reach the bottom of the steps turn left. ahead you will see a silver container and a smaller green box to the let of it. Follow to the left of the small green box. In the next area you will see blood all over the place, and to the right you will see tear sitting against a container. Cutscene Teare will tell you he turned the nectar down a notch or two, and then open a container and show you a pile of dead bodies. Teare also sheds more light on the war and the secrets behind nectar. Eventually Teare is shot down from up above. New Objective: Escape from the container ship CHECKPOINT Objective Complete: Search the ship for the source of the distress signal When you gain control, face the dead bodies that Teare showed you, and move through the narrow path on the right. Shoot the Troop standing above in front of you. To the left of this troop is a green container. Continue around to the right and then straight across the room. wait behind one of the containers across the room for a dropship to destroy the green container you just passed. Head back across and through the newly opened green container. you will be attacked by about 3 troops here. head up the steps in this area, and then up the second flight of steps behind you. When you reach the top, move straight ahead and exit through the door on the right. There will be 3 troops in this hallway and one will charge with the shotgun. Kill all three and continue to the other end of the hall. head down the steps here and kill the troop that attacks. More troops will come up the ladders on the right, so shoot them as you see them. Go toward the ladder, and you will see two troops below. shoot them and proceed down. Once you reach the bottom, take cover because you will be shot at from the far end of the room by two turrets. Shoot the two turrets with your assault rifle. and move to the area where they were at. do not go up the ladder. instead go to the corner on the right side and drop down. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Head through the passage way and then around to the left and then to the right. follow the wall on your left side until you get to the opening in the corner. Move through here and up the small steps and then up the next flight. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- continue up to the top of the steps and head to the middle of this hallway. An assault trooper will come around the corner, shoot him with the shot gun and follow straight across to the steps on the other end. Kill the troop here and move down the steps. and you will find another troop. Kill him and continue on. and once you get to the bottom, move through the door on the left. This next area will be filled with water, and also will have troops above you shooting. There should be about 8 troopers in the room. Head up the two flights of steps on the left side & shoot the troops that attack. continue up the steps and you will run into a few more. Kill them and continue on to the top level. When you reach the last set of steps, follow around to the left and just follow the wall all the way around and kill the troops that attack here. there should be 2-3 troops on the top level. When you get to the ladder, proceed to climb up. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- After climbing up the ladder, turn around and head to the end of the room opposite from the windows. On the left side you will the door being cut open. take cover and wait for the troops to break through. once the 3 troops are through, toss a grenade and if they dive out of the way, finish them with your gun. Go through the now open door and you will see some steps on the left. Move toward the steps and kill the trooper on the right and then head up. When you get to the top you will see some troops in the distance standing at the top of a platform. Shoot them with your rifle and head up the steps on your left. watch out for any other troops in the area. and continue forward. You will come to yet another set of steps on your left. Move up these and you will reach a door. Melee it to break through. Toss a Nectar grenade in this room to cause the troops to overdose and kill each other. Take out anyone left alive. on the opposite end, there will be another door on the left. break through this door and kill the 3 troops in this room. there are two doors in here. Exit through the one on the right wall. There will be a troop waiting on the opposite side so shoot him once you break through the door. head through and up the flight of steps on your right side. When you reach the top, there will be a new room on your right. toss another nectar grenade in here and wait for the troops to kill each other. Once they are done, move across and through the doorway on the opposite side from where you entered. Head all the way down the steps on the right side. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- when you get to the bottom, turn around and head straight. when you reach the end, drop down and head to your left. some troops will attack from on top of the containers and the platform on the other end. shoot them and continue around. Head under the platform which you just shot the troops and you will be attacked by 5-6 more troops. I prefer the shotgun in this area since they tend to rush in toward you firing. head forward under the platform and when you reach the end make a right and there will be an entrance way on your left. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Head through the entrance and a troop will charge you. Shoot him and continue around the corner from where he just came. follow this path to the right and kill the 3-4 troops that attack from above, and ahead of you. You will reach a ladder all the way in the corner on the left. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Climb the ladder. If there are any troops left up here then shoot them & head to the other end. Follow the metal bars on your left side all the way around and eventually you will come to another ladder. Climb this ladder as well and head straight across to the other end. You will see a few troops on the platform across the way. Also notice the ladder on the edge of the platform. Shoot the troops and drop down and climb back up the ladder you just seen. If there are anymore troops up here shoot them down. look for a opening in the floor straight ahead across from where you climbed up the ladder. beware that there will be 4 troops down here, so it may be useful to throw a nectar grenade, or a regular grenade down first. from the area you dropped down from, to your right will be a opening. Exit through this opening. Objective Complete: Escape from the containership Move to the right, dropping down the containers until you reach the bottom. move forward and you will be back on the beach. look for a cave going through the rock surface on the left side. =============================================================================== Chapter 10: Las Palmas Sudorosas =============================================================================== New Objective: Go through caves onto beach New Objective: Get to the roof for evac ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Head through the cave and you will come to a cliff. there will be 5 troops below. shoot as many as you can from up top, and drop down to finish the rest. Once you have finished the troops here, move east (should be toward the left) and you will see an exit. move up and through this exit. New Objective: Get into the hotel lobby Objective Complete: Go through the cave onto the beach ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Drop down from out the cave and you will see a couple of dropships flying above. You will be attacked by a couple of Mantel troops to your right, so kill them and continue straight ahead. You will see three more coming from across the way. shoot them and proceed over to the area they just came from. Follow the large Rock wall on your left side around, killing any Mantel troops in the area. watch out for them hiding in the houses. Eventually you will come to some steps on your left side. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Merino will tell you that a dropship is coming to attack you. It will begin firing at you. Do not worry about the dropship since you can't damage it with the weapons you currently have. Just move up the steps and follow the path on to the hotel. Just keep moving straight ahead (North) and you will eventually reach the steps leading up to the hotel. There will be a troop waiting at the bottom of the steps. shoot him and move up the steps. Follow the steps up and to the left when you reach the top, keep moving along the left side. You will be attacked by another troop, and then reach a set of stairs. move up these steps and kill the 3 troops that attack. continue up the steps and kill any troops waiting and make a left when you reach the top. Move ahead to the steps on the left that lead down. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- move down and the dropship will attack again. Follow around to the left of the pool and move pass the first bridge on the right. Drop down into the pool area and head west. straight ahead you will see a rock structure with some steps underneath. head for these steps and under the rock structure. Once you pass through you will see 2 troops. kill them and follow around to the right. kill the next 2 troops up here and move for the steps leading up to the hotel on the left hand side. Move up these steps and into the lobby of the hotel. Objective Complete: Get into hotel lobby New Objective: Get into hotel courtyard Once you enter the lobby, head straight across to the other side and turn right. You should see some troops come down the steps and out of an open doorway ahead. Shoot them and move to this doorway. Head up the steps and move around to the right. There are a lot of doors in the area, so beware of troops coming out of doors and possibly getting behind you. follow the wall on your right side and kill the 3 troops that attack. Continue ahead and you will see an open doorway with a flare inside. move through this door and make a left. you will see another flare. Drop down through the hole in the floor and turn around. You will see another flare and some steps to the left. move up these steps. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- the door at the top will be closed, but will be opened by your rebel partners. move through and drop down. Objective Complete: Get into hotel courtyard ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- From here move to the middle and down the steps. there will be troops shooting from all levels of the hotel ahead. shoot them one by one. notice down below in the right corner there is another open door with a flare in it. This is where you need to get to. Once you have killed enough troops, move toward the flare and then up the steps. When you reach the top of the steps kill the 2 troops ahead and move straight ahead. move around the corner to the left, Head up the first set of steps on the left side. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- When you reach the top turn right, and use your rifle to shoot the troops across on the other platform. follow around to the right and move to the end and turn left. equip your shot gun, because once you turn left a troop will break through the door on your right side and try to attack. Shoot him down once he emerges. and continue ahead. shoot the next troop that shows and move through the door behind him. move forward and make a left at the balcony and then another immediate left. head back out of the hotel room and make a right. take the first right you come to and equip your shotgun again. move up the steps to your immediate right and blast the troop standing here and continue up. At the top, make a left & then a second left and at the end you will find another open doorway. Move through here with caution. There will be a troop standing on the balcony. kill him and make a right. You will see a flare on the ground ahead. head pass this flare and make a right. You will see another flare up ahead. toss a grenade into this area since about 3 troops will be waiting. Head through and finish them if needed. Move straight all the way to the end, and make a right. another assault trooper will attack here. shoot him and the trooper further down and continue to the end and make a right. there will be another flare in the bathroom on your left here. continue on out the open doorway and make a left. make a left around the next corner, and move all the way to the end to find a staircase with a flare inside. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Objective Complete: Get to the roof for evac. New Objective: Negotiate through roof garden Once you reach the top of the steps, make a right & move forward through this area. Follow along the wall to the far right side. The dropship will attack once again, but continue ahead, and follow the passage around to the right. keep moving, and watch out for troops hiding behind the corners there should be 2 waiting in this area. once you kill them continue following the path and you will see 4 metal structures. there will be 3 more rebels hiding here. Toss a grenade over and when they dive out the way shoot them with your rifle. Follow the path around and to the south and continue across. in the last passage way, two more troops will attack. Shoot both of them, move ahead and should see your chopper pulling up for Evac. once it lands, hop on. Objective Complete: Negotiate through roof garden. Cutscene you will have a short talk with Merino here. You will ask him when everyone will be able to move in on the observatory. Merino tells you that his men are already preparing themselves. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- New Objective: Destroy the attacking dropship Remember that annoying dropship from the hotel?? It's time to get rid of him. As you regain control of carpenter on the chopper, you will have the Mano del Dios equipped. Your ammo is unlimited here so fire away at the dropship. There is no real special technique here. I found it easiest to start off zoomed in and fire away until the dropship pulls away. During this time you should be able to destroy at least one engine. Zoom back out and wait for the dropship to come back in view. This time just fire away while zoomed out because the dropship will do a lot of moving for the rest of the fight and its easier to keep it in view while zoomed out. If you see an opportunity to zoom in, then take it & continue to fire away. You can't control the chopper, so just continue to fire away on the dropship until it finally explodes. Objective Complete: Destroy the attacking dropship. Cutscene The chopper doors will close and Merino will tell you about another trooper that came into the village and threw a child into a fire. A rebel will radio in and tell Merino that the village is under heavy attack. =============================================================================== Chapter 11: Cidade de Deus Defense =============================================================================== New Objective: Suppress the trooper onslaught New Objective: Defend the rebel base ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Here you will start out in the Rebel chopper with the Mano Del Dios still equipped. There is not much to the area, just to shoot down as many Mantel troops as possible until you land the chopper. As you are flying over the village, look for troops coming out of all doors. Some will be firing at other rebels, and some will be sending missiles your way. As you fly over the first open area below, begin shooting. Look on the roofs, in windows, and look in the doorways for any troops. Eventually the chopper will continue to the next open area below. New Objective: Help defend the market area. In this next open area, again aim down and shoot any troops. The chopper will hover over this area for a while. Look forward and some more troops will come from the buildings ahead. Be sure to fire on this area since one of the troops will be holding a 387L Rocket Launcher and one to many hits from this and you will blow. Objective complete: Help defend the market area The Chopper will begin to fly to the next area. Shoot any troops you can spot. Keep special alert for any standing in doorways or on top of the building since these are usually the ones firing the rockets. New Objective: Clear the villa of Troopers Eventually the chopper will stop again. look for troops running from both sides. The building straight ahead will have a troop with another 387L Rocket Launcher. Once you take him out, just aim down and fire on the remaining troops that come out. Objective complete: Clear the villa of troopers. Objective Complete: Suppress the Trooper onslaught New Objective: Destroy the 3 artillery guns. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Once you get off the chopper, shoot the 2 troopers ahead and move forward move along this path. Be sure to use your compass at the top of the screen to point you in the right direction. Stay along the right and move straight & you will see one of the artillery guns being protected by a few troopers. Toss a grenade and shoot anyone who it doesn't take out. Once you have gotten rid of the troopers, move in front of the AA gun, and you will see a control panel with the yellow Mantel sign on front. Either Melee or shoot the panel until it explodes. Turn directly around and shoot any troopers that may be firing on you. If you turned directly around you should be facing south right now. You should see a small hill ahead. move over this hill and you will find the last 2 artillery guns. There will be troopers in this area, so be sure to take them out before heading over. Repeat the same process of destroying the AA guns. Objective Complete: Destroy the 3 Artillery guns. New Objective: Work your way through the village. From where you destroyed the last AA gun, turn directly around and face east. Look in the sky and you will eventually see some flares fall from the sky. Follow these flares to the next area. They will bring you to an area that is blocked off by a school bus. Move through the open doors on the school bus to the other side. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Take note here that Merino tells you that there are civilians in this area, but you do not have to save them at all. There is no bonus or penalty for either saving them or just moving to the next area Once you have reached the village, you will see an abandoned trailer. move toward the trailer and turn to the left and head up the hill here. You will see a trooper attack from under a shed up ahead. kill him and turn right and keep moving. After you pass the second shed on the left (not including the one where you just shot the trooper) turn left and you will see a tree & the wall in front of you. move as close to the wall as possible and take this all the way down to the other end of the map.(you can go to the right side or straight up the middle, but of all three directions, I took little to no damage going this way). You will eventually come to a point where you can no longer move forward. turn directly around and head between the two sheds and turn left. keep to the left and you will find the path leading up to the next area without taking much of any damage at all. Head up the path and straight across and down the path to the left. Objective Complete: Work your way through the village When you enter this area, turn left and head forward. kill the troopers ahead and move forward. You may see a tank on your right side, but forget about it for now. you can not hurt it without the 387L Rocket Launcher. New Objective: Find a rocket launcher and destroy the tank ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Continue to move straight ahead, and the last building that you reach (right after the road turns to the right) will have a ladder on the left wall. Climb up this ladder and you will find a room on the left with the Rocket Launcher. Grab the launcher and fire away on the tank from the window. try not to stand to close to the window and back away after every shot to reload so the tank does not send a rocket of its own back at you. Also beware of any troopers that may climb the ladder after you and you from behind (yea they snuck me like this on my first play through). About 10 shots from the Launcher should destroy the Tank. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Objective Complete: Find a rocket launcher and destroy the tank New Objective: Rendezvous with Merino at the Church Once you have destroyed the tank, Be sure to reload your Rocket Launcher because you will be using it again soon. Return to the ladder you previously used to get up to this room. and shoot any troopers that may be waiting below. climb back down the ladder and move forward and make a left. You will see an open path to the left so follow this around. Kill the two troops here and you will eventually see a round wooden building ahead. Move up the steps and through the door on the right side. once through this door, this room will have a door on the left and one on the right. head out the door on the right. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Shoot the Troopers on the ledge above, and head down the steps. you will see another set of steps up ahead. Move toward these steps and shoot the Mantel trooper that comes down. Head up the steps and watch out for troopers waiting around the corners. shoot any troopers you encounter and head up the steps to the right. once you get to the top of these steps, you will see a set of steps on your left and on your right. Take the steps to the right and follow this all the way up. When you reach the top, to the left should be a few troopers, and to the right some more steps. kill the troopers and head to the right up the stairs. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- There will be a doorway on the left side. move through here into the building. Look out for rebels coming down the stairway to the left. wait for them to get down and then fire on them. Move up the steps but beware there should be 2 assault troopers waiting at the top with a shotgun. approach carefully & shoot him before he shoots you. It would be useful to toss a grenade up and then move once it has exploded. When you are able to get up the steps, turn to the right and head through the Door and you will be on a narrow walkway. On the right is a wall that leads to a door, and on the left you will see an opening. Drop down the opening on the left and you will be back to the area where you killed Peshy and Watchstrap earlier in the game. Move to the east and head up the steps and you will meet up with Merino. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Objective complete: Rendezvous with Merino at the Church New Objective: Hold back the Trooper onslaught New Objective Lay mines across the courtyard Merino will tell you to take the grenades and hide them in the dirt over by the door on the opposite side of the courtyard. Head back down the steps and move west to the other side of the courtyard. you will see a doorway on the right also another one to the left. Lay the grenades in front of each door and move back where Merino is. Objective Complete: Lay mines across the courtyard wait for the wave of Troopers to come out, and begin shooting. Either shoot them with your rifle or use the mounted gun. Which ever you decide, make short work of the rebels. The first group should come through the door on the left. There should be about 4. Another group will come from the entrance in the same area as you are standing (on the left) your fellow rebels should do a good job on them, however kill anyone left. The last couple should appear to the right side of the screen. once you have finished all the rebels, wait for the chopper to arrive. New Objective: Meet Merino in front of the church Objective Complete: Hold back the Trooper onslaught Objective Complete: Meet Merino in front of the church When the chopper arrives, He will attempt to land. However Duvall will fly up in a dropship and shoot it down. New Objective: Defeat Duvall's dropship ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- You should still have the Rocket Launcher from your battle with the tank, so now is a good time to use it. When you gain control, equip the rocket launcher & fire at Duvall. After about 5-6 shots from the rocket launcher, Duvall will loose control and crash in to the side of the church and fly away. Be sure you do not standing anywhere to the left because the blocks on the church will fall and can kill you. Objective complete: Defeat Duvall's dropship You receive a short scene where merino decides to move to the bridge. New Objective: Follow Merino Objective Complete: Defend the Rebel Base ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Once you gain control, Head north and make the first right between the two buildings. Make another right and you will see a set of steps on the right, and then another set of steps directly behind it. Move past these and make a left and move down the steps. go down the first flight, and continue down the next flight to the left. Make a right down the next set of steps. Make another right and move down the steps all the way to the ground. Head through the open gateway ahead and turn left. you will see Merino waiting. Objective complete: Evacuate the rebel base with Merino Merino will tell you that you need to escort the missile carrier across the bridge. Objective complete: Follow Merino Once Merino head off down the path, just follow him. He will tell the troops that he needs a defense formation. At this point just walk along side the missile carrier. If you move to far up the missile will stop moving, so stay close by. New Objective: Escort the M.M.L across the bridge ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- =============================================================================== Chapter 12: Boa Bridge =============================================================================== you will eventually come to a tunnel leading to the next area. Move ahead and on your left side you will see two towers. One will have a troop firing rockets at you. Use your AIM and shoot the troop and continue ahead to the bridge. there will be a number of Weapons racks on this bridge to the left so look for these. My suggestion would be to grab a Rocket Launcher from the first weapons rack and pick up the pinpointer (sniper rifle) to the left. Use the zoom on the pinpointer and take out as many troops as you can. You should see about 4 that you can kill. A dropship will attack from the right on the bridge. use your Rocket Launcher to take it out with a couple shots. New Objective: Clear out the mines. Find you assault rifle back where you grabbed the sniper rifle and move toward the mines and begin shooting them to clear the path. You may also be attacked by some rebels as well. if so shoot them. once you clear the mines, head forward. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Objective Complete: Clear out the mines Head forward and kill any troopers you encounter. Up ahead you will also run into some turrets. make sure you stay far enough away to shoot them and then continue ahead. A dropship will then attack on the left side. Shoot the ship down with a rocket and continue. New Objective: Destroy the dropship pod at the end of the bridge Move ahead and you will have an area with 4-5 troopers. They shouldn't be hard at all to kill, so make short work of them and then toss a couple grenades into the dropship pod to blow it up. Wait for Merino along with the M.M.L to reach you. New Objective: Meet up with Merino near the M.M.L Objective Complete: Meet up with Merino near the M.M.L Merino tells you that you need to blow up the Boa Bridge so you can not be followed. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- New Objective: Blow up the Road Bridge Face back the way you just came, and there will be a tower on your left side. A couple of troops will attack from this tower. Kill them and head through the door. move down the steps on the right until you get to the first door to the right side. In this area you will see a flare directly across. ignore this flare right now and headleft. New Objective: Arm the bomb at the site D below the bridge There will be a number of troops on this walkway. They will shoot from both sides so try to take them down as quickly as possible. and continues down the walk way. You will move all the way to the end and eventually you will see a flare on the left side. Move to the area with the flares and you will see a blue screen behind it. move to the screen and press it to arm the bomb. Objective Complete: Arm the bomb at the site D below the bridge New Objective: Arm the bomb at site B Now head back to the first flare you seen and do the same thing. Once you have armed both bombs, head back up to the top of the bridge and back by the M.M.L to receive a cut scene. Objective Complete: Blow up the Road Bridge Carpenter tells Merino that you have done some real damage. Merino tells you to get to the observatory and he is staying with his people. He gives you his vehicle. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Objective Complete: Escort the M.M.L across the bridge New Objective: Advance up the mountain path Head on through the cave ahead and make the first right up the hill. New Objective: take the mountain road to the observatory base Objective complete: Advance up the mountain Path ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- =============================================================================== Chapter 13: Dientes de Vaca =============================================================================== Drive forward along the dirt path and Merino tells you " he is taking the villagers to Lugar seguler, a village to the south". You will be attacked by a large number of troops along the way so just keep driving and hope your truck does not get blown to pieces. Follow the path around to the left and keep moving forward. You will eventually move under a Large rock structure. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Continue following the path. you will eventually see a very narrow path on the left leading up. if you catch it, take this path. You will avoid the a bunch of troops to the left and a road block. Once you pass the road block, keep going through the patch and you will eventually come to a cliff. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Drive off the cliff & you will be attacked by a couple of Rebel Boxcarts. Try to avoid each of these and head across to the east and toward the left. Follow this path around. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Once you receive your checkpoint you will receive move under and a rock structure. Time to exit from your vehicle. Hop out the truck and head to up to the right and take cover behind one of the many objects in the area. There should be about 8 troopers in this area waiting for you to approach so beware. They will come running out of the dropship pod on the left and from around the corner on the right. A Nectar bomb usually works good in this area. Kill the troopers and head around. You should be able to find a new vehicle some where in the area, so look for the driving wheel icon to locate the vehicle. Once you find it, hop in and continue on. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- When you begin driving again you will come to a narrow path going around a corner. Follow this around but do not drive to fast or you may fall off. Also try to avoid the bombs being shot from the AA guns. You will eventually make your way around and across a damaged bridge. Continue ahead. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Eventually you will come to a village. When you get around the corner you will see a tank ahead. avoid the rockets being shot at you and take cover on the left. There will be a few barricades right in front of you and a shed directly to the left. move up the steps of the shed and stay low. there will be troops shooting from the opposite side of you, and the tank still will continue firing so be very careful in this area. Kill the troops on the right and hop down & continue toward the tank keeping to the far left against the wall. When clear, keep moving forward and you will reach a small gate on your left with an opening. move through this gate and kill any troopers that approach. Head into the shed on the left and you will see a set of steps in the middle. head up these steps. Toss a grenade up the steps and wait for it to explode, and then move up. there will be troops all over at the top of these steps so be prepared to fire off a lot of rounds. Once you take care of everyone, head up the steps and turn around and you will see a doorway directly across. Head across and through this doorway. Kill the trooper in this room and head through the next door. Move up the steps to the left and shoot the trooper. you will see a platform on your right with a wooden board crossing over. Head across. and up the steps to the left. At this point you should see the tank down below. head through to the path on the left and kill the troopers. move through the room and down the steps inside. when you reach the bottom move out the door and to the left. Troopers will attack from the room to the right. kill them and move through. Straight ahead you will a Rebel truck. hop in and drive off to the right follow the wall all the way down under the tunnel and follow the path. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Continue around until you come to a split in the road. the left will head up. Take the left path. when you reach the top head through the cave on the left. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Move straight ahead & follow to the right. the first area you reach will have 2 turrets waiting. take cover and destroy the turrets when you have to chance. Once you have destroyed the turrets, head across to the other side. move down the path here until you reach another turret. Use the same technique of covering and shooting when clear and proceed on. you will get to yet another group of turrets. One will be in the middle area, but the next one will be around to the right and hanging from the ceiling. Move down the area where you just destroyed the turret. the next area will once again have a couple of turrets. destroy them and head forward. Guess what?? more turrets ahead. This should be the last set of turrets. the first one will be in plain sight. Destroy it and then the final turret will be at the end of the path by the exit. Once you take out the last turret head up the ladder. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Objective Complete: Take the mountain road to the observatory base =============================================================================== Chapter 14: Mirador del aguila =============================================================================== Head forward and you will come to a dip and a circular area. in the middle you will see two Mantel Trucks and a bunch of troopers waiting to attack. There should be about 5-6 troopers in this area New Objective: Proceed through visitor�s center. The last trooper in the area should be next to the entrance to the visitors center on the north side. Head through the entrance and into the center. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Once you get to the center, rebels will be everywhere. Head left and kill the two that come up the steps & attack head down the steps. You should encounter at least 3 more troops here. shoot them & head forward. drop all the way down to the bottom and take cover. shoot any troops in the area and head across to the steps on the north end. Move up and around to the right to the next flight of steps. Head up these steps and 2-3 assault troopers will come running out with shotguns. Kill them & head through the room they came from. Once through the room head up the steps and you will find a control panel on the wall. destroy this panel and head back downstairs. When you reach the bottom again, move north and along the wall on your right you should find a newly opened doorway. head through and around to the right and move down the steps and out. Objective complete: Proceed through visitors center New Objective: Climb to cable car station ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- take the path to the left and move up the hill avoiding the bombs from the AA guns. Beware when heading around the corner because there will be two turrets waiting. toss a grenade to blow both turrets and continue ahead. Follow the path all the way around until you reach the top and you will eventually reach a set of steps leading to a shed. Kill the troops that attack here and head into the building. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- in this building follow the path to the right and around the corner on your left side. there should be a few troopers in this area attacking. toss a grenade down the hall and continue moving. Shoot anyone left alive. get all the way to the end of the hall & move through the room on the right. Continue around to the right until you reach the end of the hallway and make a left and you will find a set of steps. Head up these steps and you will reach a damaged wall. you will see some troops behind the wall hear. A Nectar grenade will work great here. move around the corner and head to the right. Avoid falling through the holes in the floors and get to the side where you just tossed the nectar grenade. behind this area will be a round area with a set of steps that will lead you to the roof tops. Move up these steps. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- When you reach the top of the steps here straight out the doorway will be 3 troopers. shoot them quickly and move out. turn left and there will be a bridge. you will see a dropship ahead, and he will destroy the bridge on the left leading to the cable cars. even though the bridge was destroyed, you can see there is still a piece of the tower stuck there which provide a passage across. Walk across the damaged piece of the tower. Objective Complete: Climb to cable car station When you get to the other side, head up the steps on your right and around the corner. There will be an assault trooper here and a turret. kill the trooper and then destroy the turret as well. There will also be another turret and trooper on the left so beware. Once you have taken care of the enemies walk across and up the steps. Once at the top of the steps wait for the cable cart to reach you. There will be a few troopers inside so shoot them before it reaches you and then hop on. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- New Objective: Cross the Boa Valley When your cart begins to move ahead you will see a dropship let off some troopers on the top of you. shoot them before they have the chance of dropping in. you will now see another cart coming from the line right next to you. when it reaches you, toss a grenade in and duck down. the grenade should take out the troops on board. From here just wait until you reach the other side. Once you reach your destination, Shoot any troops you may see below from the window. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Objective complete: Get across the Boa valley New Objective: Enter main observatory complex When you reach the other side, get off the cart and move to the steps and head down. Turn around and head east. this will take you toward the observatory. When you reach the dirt area proceed down the path to the left. When you get to the bottom look to your left and you will find a rebel Bike. I prefer to leave the bike and just move to the right. Cross the wooden bridge and continue to follow the path along and you will come to a broken down building with some troopers waiting inside. there should be 4 in total. head to the right of this building and across the next bridge. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Once you reach your checkpoint here, you will see the observatory ahead. Its a large building with the round top. Standing on a ledge toward the top will be a few troopers. One will shoot rockets at you, and one will have a sniper rifle. they are easy to avoid so shoot them and continue ahead. Also look out straight ahead because a group of 3 troopers will also come around the large rock to the left and attack. As you head north you will reach an area with some large brown colored objects and a few places to take cover. at first the area seems clear, but there are a number of troopers around waiting to jump out from around the many corners. my suggestion is to stay close to the wall of the observatory on the left so the troopers have a hard time getting behind you. There will be 7-8 troopers in this area. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Head forward and you will see a set of steps on the left leading down. Make sure you don't just run straight to the steps. there will be two turrets waiting at the bottom. duck down next to a wall or toss a grenade their way and move on. Head straight across and up the steps and move straight to the left against the observatory wall again. and continue around. a few troopers will attack from the right side, but they are far enough from you that you should be able to get them before they get you. If you stay close to the observatory wall, then you will eventually come to a door. Head in & you have reached the observatory. Follow the hallway around to the left and take the first hallway to the right. Objective Complete: Enter main observatory complex As you head into the observatory kill the two troopers directly ahead. If you look up toward the top you will also see a few troops standing by the administrator as well. shoot them and head to the right. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Follow you the wall on your right side all the way around. you will run into 2 turrets. Shoot them and look to the right and up to see an elevator. If you head close to the elevator it will begin to come down. Hop on and ride the elevator back up. On the next level you may get shot at by a turret from back down below. If so just aim & destroy it. Destroy both circuit breakers on the north and south ends of the administrator. Once you blow the first one, a dropship will deploy some troopers. Shoot them from your distance and destroy the second circuit breaker. Once you destroy the second one, the cover to the administrator will begin to open. Be sure to aim at the administrator because there will be two turrets that will begin to fire once it opens. If you have a rocket launcher then use it now as one shot will destroy all the turrets. One you have destroyed the turrets head to the administrator. There will be 4 computers attached to the administrator. Just press the button on each computer and head back to the elevator to move back down. Objective Complete: Disable Nectar Administrator New Objective: Get out of complex through emergency doors Once you reach the bottom, follow the wall around to the right until you reach the blast doors. Cutscene You receive a cut scene with two troopers that commit suicide. (the troopers are going crazy since the nectar is no longer being administered). ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Objective Complete: Get out of complex through emergency doors New Objective: Take down Black Ops handling the AA guns. When you get out the door, the first AA gun will be right ahead. go around to the steps, head up and kill the black ops guy up top. Head back down and to the north and kill any black ops troopers that attack. You will see the next AA gun to your left. If you look at the gun and aim, then you should be able to shoot the black ops trooper without walking all the way over. Next continue following your compass to the next AA gun. Here a dropship will deploy some troopers on the platform with the aa gun, and also some troopers will come from up ahead. toss a grenade on the platform and be sure to watch all areas to stay safe. Now again you may be able to just look and aim at the next AA gun and shoot the black ops from where you are at, but if not then just head over and kill the black ops up close and personal. Use your compass to locate all the AA guns if you have trouble locating them. Objective Complete: Take down the black ops handling the AA guns New Objective: Proceed to the helipad for evac Once you take down the final black ops trooper, look to the north and see the Rebel chopper land to pick you up. head down and over to the chopper to be carried to your next location. Objective Complete: Proceed to helipad for evac =============================================================================== Chapter 15: Landcarrier Assault =============================================================================== ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- New Objective: Meet Merino in the clearing New Objective: Prepare for the final assault When you gain control, move to the area with Merino and listen to his speech Objective Complete: Meet Merino in the clearing Merino gives a speech about the war, and about fighting so they no longer have to be an army. He tells Carpenter that the Troops are weak and it is now time to attack. New Objective: Meet Merino near the SUVs Simply follow Merino to the Rebel trucks ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Objective Complete: Prepare for the final assault Objective Complete: Meet Merino near the SUVs Once you get into the truck, get ready for one of the more fun parts of the game. you will drive to the Mantel landcarrier and need to attack it from each side. New Objective: Destroy the 4 fixed guns on the sides New Objective: Open the rear door of the landcarrier ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- The truck will first drive to the right side of the landcarrier. once you begin to move toward the right the first fixed gun will be fairly close to the back of the land carrier. Zoom in and destroy it. Next look toward the front end of the landcarrier and you will see the second fixed gun up ahead. Despite the bumpy ride do your best aiming in and fire on the gun until it blows. eventually you will destroy it. When you see it blow up you will move to the other side of the land carrier. Repeat the same process with the next two guns on this side. The first one will be right above you, and the second a little further down. New Objective: Destroy the valves controlling the doors Objective Complete: Destroy the 4 fixed guns on the sides. Next you will drive under the landcarrier. you will see a grey metal valves above you. Shoot each of these valves. You will move from under the land carrier, but then head right back under to destroy a second set of valves. Objective Complete: Destroy the valves controlling the door You will eventually end up behind the land carrier. the door will open, but you will be shot at by a couple of turrets. rather you destroy these or not, you will drive up and onto the land carrier. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Objective Complete: Open the rear door at the land carrier New objective: Find the defense grid control room and disable the defenses. New Objective: Find the control room and open the hanger doors When you gain control, head up the steps on the far left side. When you reach the top there should be a turret waiting. Destroy this and head through the doorway. 2-3 troopers will come around the corner firing, so make sure you are ready to take them down. When you head out the door, go to the left & all the way around to the end and there will be an open doorway. Many of the troops in this area will be over dosing & will not be a threat. Once you get to your next doorway move up the ramp and kill the 3-4 troops here. Also look out for troopers rolling exploding barrels down. when you get to the top turn right and you will find a turret. duck down or hide behind the wall and destroy it when you have the chance. Move forward and the second door on the right will have a trooper inside. kill him when he attacks and keep going. the last door on the right will have a trooper and a turret. Destroy both and head down the ramp. when you get to the end, there will be three computer. Press the button on the computer in the middle to open the hanger doors. New Objective: Work your way through the hangar Objective Complete: Find the control room and open the hangar doors ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- turn around and head all the way back to where you first drove onto the land carrier. you will be attacked by a few troops in the hallways as you backtrack so be on the look out for any enemies firing on you short range. When you get back to the specified area, head down the steps and there will be a newly opened door on the left wall. Kill the troops while on the steps and head through the doorway to the left. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- As you move through the door, a tank will fire at you. be sure to avoid this and look for a ramp in the middle leading down. move down this ramp and the tank will not be able to reach you. just take this all the way past the tank and up the other side behind it and look for a computer terminal behind it on your right side. Press the button on the terminal. A door will open to your right head through this and toward the back of this area. Objective Complete: Work your way through the hangar New objective: Destroy the attacking dropship ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Once you receive your checkpoint, a Dropship will attack from the open areas you just passed. Before going to destroy the dropship, head to the back left corner and you will find a weapons rack with a rocket launcher inside. Grab one and use this to easily destroy the dropship. After one hit, the ship will fly through and to the other side. Shoot it a second time and it should blow. Go back and refill you rocket ammo. Once you're ready head through the open area on the north side. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Walk around to the left and shoot the turret ahead and continue forward. You will eventually come to some steps. head up these steps and around the corner. Make a right at the first door on the right. Follow this hallway around and move into the room that you will reach on your right side. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- New Objective: Defend the Hacker while he disarms the defense grid controls this next part will be one of the more annoying parts you will come to in the game. One of your rebel partners will attempt to hack a computer & disarm the defense grids. While he is doing this, Black ops troopers will attack from all sides. All you need to do is kill them before they kill the hacker. There is not a particular pattern to this part of the game. the troopers will pretty much have 4 areas they will appear from, but could appear from any side each time. the areas are each corner of the room. The easiest way I have found to do this is to just wait on either side of the room and toss grenades as the black ops appear. the grenades may not hit the troopers, but they should dive out the way and leave an opening for you to shoot them. Keep doing this and each time you kill the troopers reload and grab more grenades from the dead corpses. they will come in faster as you get closer to the check point, but one more important thing to note is to focus more on keeping your self alive, then the hacker. Of the times that I have completed this room, the hacker has never been killed but I have died a few times. Objective Complete: Defend the Hacker while he disarms the defense grid New Objective: Find elevator switch and ascend to deck ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Once you receive your checkpoint, head out the door opposite where you entered the room. Head around the right corner. When you get into the open area, look to your right. A trooper will come down the steps firing. Shoot him quick and continue up, but look out for another troop coming around the corner up top. When you reach the top, there will be a troop in the far distance duck behind one of the objects up here and shoot him down when you are clear. Head forward to the steps up ahead. Two troops will come down the steps and attack, and there will also be one in the left corner under the steps. Dispatch of the troops here and continue up. When you reach the top of the steps you will need to head to the left. Look out at the top because a turret will be waiting for you directly in your path. Destroy the turret and head forward. Keep a look out for any troopers back behind you. Head forward and you will eventually see a flare. Move toward the flare and press the button directly above it. Once you have done this, wait for the elevator to come down and hop on and ride it back up Objective Complete: Find elevator switch and ascend to deck New Objective: Defeat the dropship attack ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- When you reach the top, you will be given the task of defeating the dropship attack. There will be one dropship on each end of the landcarrier. Head to the west end first. You will see the dropship up ahead and also an AA gun in front of you. move to the A gun and mount it and blow the dropship out of the air. After you destroy the first one head to the east end and you will see a second dropship along with a second AA gun. Now on this side of the dropship look out for troopers jumping out and firing on you. there should be one or two waiting. Take care of them and then hop on the AA gun to destroy the second dropship. Objective Complete: Defeat the dropship attack New Objective: Get to the upper control room Once you have destroyed the dropship, If you turn around you will see a dropship crash behind you. This is your path up to the control room. Hop on top of the tail end of the Dropship and walk up to the platform. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Once you reach the top, head to the right and up the steps ahead. When you get to the top, your door will be on the left. Head in and enter the control room via the door on the right side. Objective Complete You will get a cutscene. Guess who it is? None other then Duvall. Duvall blames Carpenter for killing Watchstrap and peshy. He goes on statistics in war and tells Carpenter that he is the abnormal one. ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- New Objective: Kill Duvall Now let me start off by saying this battle is very easy to complete. There are two different ways that I was able to defeat Duvall with ease. Once you gain control, immediately Aim for Duvall�s head and fire. If you are quick enough and you aim is good enough then you will hit Duvall with a head shot and kill him instantly. This only happened to me once, so it can be done. Now the second way is very easy as well. If you can not get the head shot off, Then you should still have the Rocket Launcher from an earlier Dropship battle. Equip this and fire away at Duvall. After a few quick and easy shots, Duvall will go down. Cutscene Duvall will crawl around on the ground crying for a while until he tells you not to tell his mother. He will then die. New Objective: Meet Merino on the main deck and evacuate the landcarrier Objective Complete: Kill Duvall ---------- CHECKPOINT ---------- Head back out the door that you entered the room through and look for the Rebel chopper on the deck. Hop down to the deck and move to the Chopper to get on and be carried to safety. Objective Complete: Meet Merino on the main deck and evacuate the landcarrier You receive your last cutscene from the chopper with Merino. You see the landcarrier blown to pieces. Merino tells you that a hero is always welcome in his country. He goes on to tell that the landcarrier was not the most powerful weapon, and tells you that if the drug (nectar) could give his people confidence then it would not be such a bad thing. He tells you that he will combine it with free will, and the Mantel Troopers were just "Animals" You have just completed Haze. Congrats!!!!
