driv3r Walkthrough for Xbox Game Name: driv3r Format: Xbox Submitted By: mikelar Driv3r mixes both the on-foot action and in-car driving sequences well. However, there are some sections of the game where you're either outgunned or chasing a car that is clearly faster than yours. As such, I decided to write a walkthrough to aid those struggling in any part of the game. Simply find the city your in as well as the mission number or name and you're away. To begin then: == MIAMI == Mission 1: Police HQ A simple mission to let you get to grips with car handling and shooting. Follow the beacon to the police HQ and finish the shooting simulation. Job done. Mission 2: Lead On Baccus Nothing too complicated here, just get in the cop car parked outside the HQ and follow the car in front. Stick close making sure to mimic any difficult shortcuts the car takes. Once you get to the location, watch the cut scene. Mission 3: The Siege Walk around to the side of the building. Two gunmen will appear from the doorway and will fire at the police. Take them out from a distance. Move into the door way and shoot the two men hiding behind the debris. Walk over to the car and a cut scene will play. Follow Baccus' car out of the compound. Don't drive too fast off the first ramp as you won't be able to turn fast enough. Stick close to him and he'll end up crashing his car. Mission 4: Rooftops Drive over to the beacon, find the stairs and enter the hotel. Walk to the top of the stair well and shoot the gun men standing in a group on the roof. Walk forward over to the set of stairs and descend. Two men will appear form behind the water tanks as well as a third man on top of the stairs opposite the ones you came down on. Take them all out using the water tanks for cover. Walk up the next set of stairs and kill any remain gun men on the roof. Find the elevator to enter the car compound. When the doors open, shoot the gun man in the booth across the room. Walk out of the door and shoot the three men to the left, they're far away so can't do any real damage. Walk over to the car but don't get in, instead walk back over to the elevator opposite the one you came down in and two more men will appear, gun them down before they can take up positions. Get in the car and drive out of the compound. Once outside you'll get chased by another car. Either use swerving tactics to avoid him ramming you or drive into oncoming traffic and wait for him to make a mistake. Once you lose the chase, head over to the beacon. Mission 5: Impress Lomaz Take the boat near your house and drive it to the beacon. On the other side, speak to the man dressed in a yellow shirt. Once he's finished talking, you'll be inside the car. Smash through the fence and hit the first set of barrels with the red arrow over them. You'll need to smash through a few objects before the mission is complete. Refer to your map if you're unsure where the next object is. Repeat this until you get to an object on a roof top. Use a nearby ramp to smash this object and the section will be over. Next you'll need to drive Lomaz over to a bar and smash it up. Once you reach the beacon, enter the bar and kill the bar men. There'll be three other men in the bar so kill them as well. After they're dead, shoot at various objects in the bar such as the pictures, the TV, the arcade and the bottles on the bar until the meter at the top of the screen is full. Mission 6: Gator's Yacht Once again, take the boat at the back of Tanner's house and sail over to the beacon that is out in the open water. You'll find a small house like building. Enter this building killing any gunmen you see on the way in. Pick them off from a range so you don't damage your boat. Inside you'll need to pick up the three C4 packages. They are spaced around the building but are easy to find - they're highlighted with a yellow target. Once you've found them all, get back into your boat and head over to the second beacon - Gator's Yacht. Don't drive right up to the boat as you approach it because two gunmen appear and will destroy your boat. Instead, slowly drive closer with a ranged ready and wait for the two gunmen to appear. Kill them and then drive up to the back of the boat where you can then jump aboard. There are several gunmen positioned around the boat so be careful when exploring new areas. There are a few on the top-deck, a few either side of the boat (guarding health packs) and several more inside the boat. Your mission is to plant the C4 on the boat. The three locations to plant the bombs are the engine room, the dinning room and the navigation room. Once all three are planted (an alarm will sound when they are) a timer will start. Head back to the boat that you arrived on and sail a decent distance away. Once you're far enough, a scene will play. Mission 7: Trapped You'll start in a shopping centre on this mission. The idea is to evade the cops whilst following the green exit signs. They're hard to miss so escaping should prove fairly easy. Once outside, evade the cops that start to give chase and drive to the beacon. After the scene plays, you'll be told to ditch the car so drive over to the new beacon, up the ramp and into the sea. Mission 8: Dodge Island Drive over to the beacon on the island, wait for the guards to open the gates, then drive through and turn right. You'll see the car that you're supposed to collect inside the small building. After the men start shooting, quickly get into the car, drive through the window and forward making sure not to get trapped by the container which is being lowered. Get out of the car and kill the gunmen firing at you. You'll need to make you're way through a maze of containers next. You need to be careful here because just about behind every corner is a gunman. Kill them all and you should see a car pull up. Kill the people inside and take their car. Drive around the docks avoiding the vans and trucks until the beacon is on your right. Once it is, you can jump into the sea and simply swim across to your house - it isn't far so you won't lose energy and it means you don't have to mess about dodging any other vehicles. Mission 9: Retribution Follow the two cars shooting at the escort car first. If you can, take out it's tyres as this usually causes it to crash. After you've kill the guarding car, follow the next one until it reaches a building near the docks. Get out of the car and kill the two gunmen inside the building as well as the two shooting at Lomaz. Head towards the back of the building and three more men will come running out. Kill these as well as the gunman at the end of the wooden walkway on the other side of the building. Enter the door the man was standing near and there'll be another gun man inside. Kill him as well as the gunman in the next room. The room after that will be empty so reload if you have to. Go through the next door and kill the gunmen standing on the edge of the walkway. Quickly get into the boat and follow your target until he reaches a sea house. Keep your distance as there are several gunmen awaiting you - take them out from a distance. Once they're all dead, enter the house. Kill the man standing near the doorway as well as the man who run's down the corridor. Once you walk down the corridor, another gunman will shoot a door down. He'll be in a room to your right so don't get caught out. There is another gunman in hiding further down the corridor, he shoots through a hole so make sure not to stand near it. At the end of the corridor, open the door and kill the gunmen at the side. Don't walk out, instead you should be able to see your target looking at you. Kill him from where you're standing and the mission will be complete. == NICE == Mission 10: Welcome To Nice Leave your house and get in the car waiting outside. Drive to towards the beacon - there's no real rush yet. When you get close enough to your destination, Calita will inform you that she's under attack. You should drive as fast as possible towards the beacon at this point. On arriving kill any gunmen that are firing at Calita. Once they are dead, she'll explain how you and her need to get to bad hand's van to make a quick getaway. Follow her making sure to keep close by as numerous gunmen appear from cars that pull up. Follow and protect her all the way up to the van. Once she's safe, you'll appear in the back. You'll have to fire at the oncoming cars. Aim for the tyres or the driver in order to make them crash. Repeat this until you reach your destination. Mission 11: Smash & Run You'll need to load three cars onto the back of an 18-wheeler in this mission. As soon as it starts, drive down the small road an onto the highway (the 18-wheeler will take the same path). Drive as fast as you can towards the first beacon. The car is in an underground parking lot. Quickly get in and drive onto the street. Depending on where the truck is, either catch up or backtrack towards it. Line the car up with the back of the truck and accelerate forwards to load the first car. Get out of the car and you'll appear on the road. Quickly get into another car (or even better a motorcycle is there is one) and head over to the second beacon. You should beat the 18 wheeler there so, once you've got the 2nd car, back track again to reach the truck instead of waiting around. As with the first car, line yourself up with the back of the 18-wheeler and accelerate forwards. Again, jump out of the van and find another fast vehicle. The next car is inside a showroom. Get to the beacon as fast as possible, smash through the showroom window and steal the car. Return to the track as fast as possible and load the final car onto the truck to finish the mission. I know this is easier said than done but perceiver and you'll soon get the hang of it. Mission 12: 18-Wheeler Make your way over to the beacon when the mission starts. The best tactic is to get a fast car, smash through the gates to the compound, making sure to take out a couple of gunmen whilst you drive into the hanger for protection. Once inside the hanger, get out and pick of any remaining gunmen. Once they're all dead, make your way over to the big blue crane. Move the containers around so that you can pick the blue one up. Once you have it, drop it onto flatbed nearby. Once you've done this, a hanger will open revealing a truck. Get in the truck and reverse up to the flatbed until it attaches to the truck. Once it's attached drive out of the compound and onto the main road. Once on the main road, the cops will give chase. Work out the path you're going to take and keep heading forward. If you come across any road blocks, just speed into them to clear a path. Make you're way over to the beacon which is by the docks to finish the mission. Mission 13: Hijack As soon as the mission starts, follow the van. Another van will block your path so instead, drive into the nearby garden where, at the bottom, there'll be a ramp for you to jump back onto the road. Continue following the van until it turns into a compound. Kill the two guards at the entrance by running them over. Get out of the car and shoot the gunmen waiting inside. Make sure to kill the man standing on the ledge to your left as you walk in. Once they are all dead, steal the black car and drive out of the compound. Head for the beacon, other cars will give chase so, as not to damage the car, get out and shoot the driver before continuing. Repeat this until you reach the beacon. Mission 15: Booby Trap You need to keep the car at a speed of 50 mph here, use the speedometer in the corner of the screen to make sure you don't slow down too much. Stick to the wide open roads and avoid driving into oncoming traffic. Head towards the beacon until your told to drive onto the beach. Once on the beach, drive up to and keep alongside the truck. Keep close and, when you think Lomaz will make it, make him jump into the truck. Next you'll need to take the care to a compound where it'll blow up a truck. Find another main road to drive along as you head for the beacon. The truck is inside a compound so find the entrance, drive towards the truck, and jump out when it tells you to. The car will then blow the truck up completing the mission. Mission 16: Calita In Trouble Drive out of the airport and head over the where Calita is trapped. Forget about the van as it's more trouble than it's worth. Once there, kill the gunmen standing down the ally, walk up the stairs and shoot at any men firing at Calita. After you rescue her, she'll tell you to kill Fabienne. Head back down the stairs and get in the car waiting for you. Give chase after Fabienne, keep close and she'll eventually stop. Get out of the car and gun her down to finish the mission. Mission 17: Rescue Dubois Head over the large building by following the beacon. Inside there are plenty of gunmen hiding in corners and ally ways so proceed with caution. Find the path that leads to the garage door and you'll appear outside. This section starts with the bodyguards driving Dubois off as you stand there gawping. Quickly get into the nearby car and shoot at them as they drive off. Try your best to keep close as shooting does more damage this way. Alternatively, just make sure to keep up with them and they'll eventually stop. Get out of your car and shoot the bodyguards to save Dubois. Mission 18: Hunted Get into the boat and sail over to the beacon. Once you get into the boathouse, a scene will play. After the scene, jump into the forklift truck and move one of the boxes so that it bridges the gap across the platform. You'll need to align yourself with the hole in the platform whilst still in the forklift before raising the box up to the level. Get out of the forklift, climb the ladder and jump onto the box you moved. Jump again so that you're across the gap on the platform. Pick up the gun on the other side and shoot the man standing in the door way. Get in the boat and drive over towards the beacon. Make your way to Vauban to complete the mission. == ISTANBUL == Mission 19: Surveillance As soon as the mission starts, start to follow the car. Use the bar to gauge how far you should keep away from him. You don't need to be really close, but don't let him get too far either. Follow him until he gets out and enters the derelict building. Get out of your car and walk around to the back of the building. Equip your silenced pistol as not to attract the other guards. Take any guards you encounter out with head shots. They'll normally have their back to you so take your time in lining up a shot. Walk up the stairs in the building. There are two more guards on the top floor, take them out and head for the hole in the floor. Drop down into this room and listen to the conversation the two are having in the next room. Once a guard spots you, you can start using the bigger guns. Walk out of the door to the room and kill the gunmen standing on the opposite platform. Follow the only path you can until you reach the building that is under construction. Descend down the levels of this building making sure to kill the gunmen on each level. Once you get to the bottom of the building, several cars will pull up with men inside, kill them all before getting into the nearby truck. Drive to the beacon to finish the mission. Mission 20: Tanner Escapes You need to stop the police from attacking the van you're in during this mission. Change to the grenade launcher as soon as the mission starts and just fire at the oncoming police cars. Normally they'll get caught in the explosion and will veer off however if they don't, switch to the mirco-uzi to finish them off. Destroy all the cars that try to ram the van to finish this section. Once out of the van, simply make your way over to the beacon to finish the mission. Mission 21: Another Lead As soon as the mission starts give chase to your target. Stick close to him because he can take many routes. The best tactic is to line your car up with his, this way you can avoid hitting any objects if you follow his exact path. Follow him into the large building and shoot any gunmen you find there. Head for the beacon to finish the mission. Mission 22: Alleyway You'll start off in the stadium parking lot when this mission begins. Quickly jump into a car - preferably one that is both close to you and fast - and follow your target. He drives out of the lot and onto a main road. Follow the path he takes making sure not to let him stray too far. He can take several paths so it's often a case of luck rather than mastering the journey he'll take. As long as you keep up with him, you'll be OK. Eventually, he'll lead you into an alleyway where both ends will then be blocked with vans. Get out and run into the doorway shooting the gunmen if you like. Head inside the building with the green door. Two men will appear at the stairway, take them out and head onto the platform. There'll be 3 men in this area, one on the platform to your left and two more shooting from holes on the floor above you. Take them out by using doorways as cover. Pick up the health pack at one end of the platform if you need it and head towards the door leading off the platform. Head up the stairs, there'll be another gunmen waiting as soon as you open the door so kill him quickly. There is also another gunman on this level who runs from the opposite side of the room. Continue following the path around the building shooting any gunmen you encounter until you reach the car parked in the yard. Get in and smash through the gate so that you're out on the road. From here, simply follow the beacon to finish the mission. Mission 23: The Chase One of the most difficult chases in the game, partly due to the fact that Calita is in a car twice as fast as yours. However, it does become easier with practice so keep at it. Firstly, as soon as the mission starts, you'll need to do a U-turn using the 'burnout' and the hand-brake. Follow her down the first road which leads onto the highway, avoid the traffic that drives into the side of you and get onto the freeway. She'll take one of two routes form here, the 'ally-way' route which involves her turning off form the highway at the second turning - this route is harder than the other - whilst the other route is the 'highway' where she continues along the open road. Either way, stick close to her braking early to take the corners smoothly. As explained, since the 'highway' route is easier, you can always restart if she keeps taking the 'ally way' route. Either way, you'll end up at the bridge. Here, Calita will jump the bridge leaving you behind. Instead of turning the car around and using the other bridge, get out and walk down to the bridge side using a nearby stairwell. Get into the boat that is down here a sail to where the beacon is. Use the stairs out of the water once you reach the bank and then run over to the bike shop. A cut scene will show Calita escaping on a motorbike. Give chase making sure to avoid crashing into the tram fences. She takes a few sharp corners but nothing you can't copy. Keep up with her until she takes a hard left into a castle like building. Again, follow her through the courtyard and through the 2nd doorway. On the path following this doorway she should crash where you can then jump off and gun her down. After she has died, the mission will finish. Mission 24: Bomb Truck Chase after the truck getting as close as possible as you can. Ideally, you should literally be touching the back of the van as you shoot at it as this way the bombs it throws will miss you. Otherwise keep either left or right of the back of the truck to avoid head on explosions. Keep firing at the truck until it stops to complete the mission. Mission 25: Chase The Train Drive off the platform and onto the train tracks. Follow the tracks right up to where the hill on your left meets the ground. Here, instead of following the train, you can drive out of a gap in the fence onto the highway where you won't be fired at. Accelerate continually until you are ahead of the train, alongside the highway you're on you should find another open gap in the fence back into the track. The gap is where the grass starts to turn to sand. You can drive through this gap and back onto the train where you should be in front of it. From this point, simply follow the tracks and beat the train to the bridge. Once the train stops, Jehrico will start to run off. Kill the first three gunmen that try to protect him and follow him onto the road. At this point, your partner and other detectives will join in the massive gunfight. Use the cars for cover and slowly progress up the road kill any gunmen that fire at you. You don't need to chase Jehrico, just make your way towards him. Get to the intersection and help the police kill and remaining gunmen. Head right down the road killing any remaining gunmen. You'll eventually get to a police road block where several gunmen will run out of a nearby ally. Take cover and kill them all. Head down the ally using the containers for cover until you reach Jehrico. Shoot at him from afar until all his energy has gone then walk over to his body to finish the mission and the game. And that is where both the game and walkthrough finish folks. Hope you enjoyed the cliff-hanger ending. Driver 4, anyone? mikelar.
