Retro Game Walkthroughs for Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace (PC Games)

I would like to state that this is my own work, and is copyright of Ant...or, once I post it, Special Reserve, I guess. Anyway, onto the walkthrough.
The Phantom Menace is a game full of action, puzzles and overall fun. To help you on your way, I'm going to describe each level, and what the object of the level is.
Level 1: The Trade Federation Battleship
Level description: In this level you are Obi-Wan Kenobi. For some of the level, you are with Master Qui-Gon Jinn, but some of it is on your own. This level is mostly action, with a couple of puzzles. This level helps you get the hang of the controls and gives you your first look at the items and enemies you will encounter throughout the game.
Object Of The Level: The object of this level is to kill quite a few droids and somehow get off the Battleship and head down towards the swamps of Naboo. Droids are easy to kill apart from the Destroyers, keep away from these. Once you're in the docking bay, you'll come across a puzzle in which you have to move the lifts, blocks and carriers so that you can get into the lift which will get you down to the next level. From there it's more lightsabre work until another lift, where the level ends.
Level 2: The Swamps Of Naboo
Level Description: You are Obi-Wan again, and you start off on your own, but you encounter Jar-Jar-Binks along the way. This level is set in the watery swamps of Naboo, and there are quite a few Battle Droids around. This level has a little bit of action, most of it coming right at the end, and there are quite a few puzzles.
Object Of The Level: To find Jar-Jar-Binks, follow him and protect him. If he is killed then the game is over. This level is quite frustrating at times, because Jar Jar is always on some sort of high cliff. Use logs, fallen trees and vines to your advantage, and at the end of the level instead of trying to destroy everything, just get Jar Jar through the passage to where Qui-Gon is waiting.
Level 3: Otoh Gunga
Level Description: You are Obi-Wan. Qui-Gon sends you to find and rescue Jar-Jar-Binks after talking to the Gungan leaders. Try not to kill any of the Gungans along the way if you can help it. To help you do this, talk to some of the Gungan civilians and some of them will open doors, and give you pass cards to get past security without any trouble. This game has little action, but a lot of puzzles and tricky frustrating tasks.
Object Of The Level: To find and rescue Jar-Jar-Binks. Can be tricky, but if you communicaye with other Gungans and have enough patience, you'll get there.
Level 4: The Gardens Of Theed
Level Description: You are Obi-Wan again. At first you are with Qui-Gon and Jar-Jar, but very early in the game you lose them. This level is set in the gardens of Theed, and it is full to the brim of laser-firing lightsaber swinging action. One of the harder levels, you may need to use quicksave quite alot, as you are likely to be killed at least a couple of times. There are hundreds of droids. There are Naboo guards around who will help you and give you information.
Object Of The Game: To destroy many droids, and to try and reach the Queen's palace. Aim of this level is to survive, and that's it. Very tough level, and to overcome all enemies you'll need the best of your fighting skills.
Level 5: Escape From Naboo
Level Description: You are Obi-Wan. Going to reach the Queen's ship, you and the Queen are cut off. Qui-Gon tells you to take another route. The Queen shows you where to go for the first part, but then you take over. You must protect the Queen, if she is killed, the game is over. Also, don't go too far ahead of her, otherwise the game is over. Don't block her way, or stand right next to her, otherwise she will say something like " You are stepping on my dress"...well, you can do that actually, because it's quite funny annoying her. You will need to scout ahead a little way a few times, otherwise she is likely to be killed. There are also a couple of extra little side missions to take part in.
Object Of Level: To protect the Queen, and find the Queen's ship. Another hard level, but by now you should be used to destroying droids.
Level 6: Mos Espa
Level Description: You are Qui-Gon (hooray!) This level is set in the sandy world of Tatooine. You must find a dealer who will sell you a T-14 Hyperdrive Generator. But first you must find Anakin Skywalker, he will take you to Watto's shop. Watto won't accept Rebuclic Credits, so you must make a bet with him, but that comes in the next level. Anakin asks you to find 2 parts for his Podracer, and then you can bet Watto for the parts you need. Be careful, if you kill anyone then the whole town will come and hunt you down, including guards with huge axes. Also, look for two women near to Watto's shop and they will tell you that Jabba will lend you the money to bet on the Podrace. Agree to meet them.
Object Of The Level: To find Anakin, and get two parts for his Podracer. A little side note, if you want a bit of fun, then go around killing innocenent 'people.' You will then get most of the town after you, and it's an absolute laugh. Just try and stay out of the guards' way.
Level 7: The Mos Espa Arena
Level Description: You are Qui-Gon. You must meet up with one of the women, and she will take you to Jabba. For the money, you have to fight Jabba's champion. When you have the money, find Watto and make a bet with him. When you bet him, ask him to free Anakin as well. When you have done that, head to Anakin's Podracer, where someone steals his Ignition Capacitor. You'll need to get it back for him.
Object Of The Level: To get the money off Jabba, make a bet with Watto and find Anakin's stolen part. Toughest part of this level is Jabba's champion. Try and stay out of his reach, and slash whenever possible. He will take a few goes to kill, so try and keep patient.
Level 8: Encounter In The Desert
Level Description: You are Qui-Gon. On your way back to the ship, you will be stopped by Darth Maul, and you will have to give him a Lightsaber duel until he runs off. He has blocked you off from the ship, so you must find a way to get to the ship. When you've done that, Darth Maul comes back, and he tries to destroy the Generator, stop him from doing that by either fighting him or force pushing him, otherwise, the game is over.
Object Of the Level: To duel Darth Maul, and stop him from destroying the Generator. Very exciting level, and although you don't need that many skills against Maul, you'll need lots of speed, and keep your wits about you when protecting the Generator, Maul could come from anywhere.
Level 9: Coruscant
Level Description: You are Captain Panaka. This level is set in the busy planet of Coruscant. The baddies are just criminals, trying to kill you and trying to capture the Queen. There are annoying Hover Canons too. Later on in the game, the Queen will be captured and it takes cleverness and boldness to get her back. You go down to the dark underworld of Coruscant, where people are extremely willing to kill you. I would be nice to them by giving them food and money, but some just want your blood. When you've got the Queen, you must fight a Coruscant Mercenary.
Object Of The Level: Get the Queen back, and try to find Senator Palpatine. Not too hard, and the puzzled scattered throughout the level are easy to figure out. The Mercenary is extremely fast, so it may take a few goes.
Level 10: Assault On Naboo
Level Description: On this game you will swap between Obi-Wan and Queen Amidala. As Obi-Wan, you and Qui-Gon will fight Darth Maul, and as the Queen, you will have to go through lots of droids to try and find the Trade Federation Viceroy. As Obi-Wan, you are cut off from the fight at the end of the level, and as the Queen you won't find the Viceroy until the next level, so just keep going forward. An action level.
The Object Of The Level: To fight Darth Maul, and get closer to finding the Trade Federation Viceroy. One of the best levels of the game-exhilirating, and really quite simple. It can get frustrating when trying to get back to the battle with Obi-Wan, but it's interesting to watch your Jedi associate and the dark sith battle it out.
Level 11: The Final Battle
Level Description: Again you swap between the Queen and Obi-Wan. This is the last level. As Obi-Wan you must get back to the fight, by going through droids, puzzles and you will need to use your skills at the controls at one point in the level. As the Queen you have to find the Trade Federation Viceroy. This level is my favourite, it has everything. Action, puzzles and the final lightsaber duel with Darth Maul. Although, you can just force push him into the melting pit.
Object Of The Level: To find the Trade Federation Viceroy, and find and destroy Darth Maul. Battling Maul is tough, and you'll have to set out a plan to defeat him. Easiest way is to fight him for a bit, run to one side of the room and get the health, fight some more, run to the other side and get the health, and by then you should be able to kill him. However, most of the time you will be on a platform above a melting pit, so if you want just use force push to send him flying into it. Simple, but effective.
This game is one of the best I've ever played, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I also hope this walkthrough has given you a few tips, and will help you avoid the numerous re-starts I had to make. My main tip with this game is to save. You can save anywhere, so do it all the time!! You'll pay for it otherwise.
