The first time we see manny in grim fandango is in his office.
-manny should pick up the memo from the mailing tube(a red flag
indicates that manny has recieved mail)and the pack of cards on
the table. Manny should then leave his office.

Manny must walk down to the end of the hall. Eva is sitting at a
desk she is his boss's secretary.
-Avoid conversation with eva and instead go to the very front of
her desk, there is a hole punch infront of manny, retreave the
cards from manny's pocket and punch them with the hole punch.
(this will all become clear later on in this level.

Once manny has punched the cards he must go down to the
garages.
-take the elevator to the left of evas desk.

Once out of the elevator manny must walk forward, he will arive
at the garage. But manny's driver isnt there, the scheming domino
hurley sent mannys driver home.
-manny must go to the shack anyway and knock on the door.

Glottis makes his way out of the shack to talk to manny, little
do they know they will soon be best friends.
-manny must choose the first of his dialogue options until
glottis says that hes too big. Then tell him he's not too big the
cars just too small.

Manny must get to the mass poisoning to pick up some of the dead,
he needs a driver, glottis is the only option since his was sent
home. But glottis needs a work order to modify the car due to his
enormas size. The only way that manny can get a work order is
from his boss, but his boss doesn't want to know, there must be
another way......

Manny must go back up to eva and this time choose the othere
elevator, this takes manny down to the lobby and out onto the
streets. There is a party celebrating the day of the dead.
-Manny must go down the alley left of the celebrations and tents.


Manny must keep walking down the alley until he comes to a rope
hanging from the top of a building, his bosses building.
-get manny to climb up the rope.

Once manny is on the ledge he must climb through the window which
is next to him.

Now manny is in his bosses office.
-he must go to the computer.

On the computer are dialogue options it is set to "im busy" no
wonder manny was unable to get the work order signed.
-manny must change the dialogue to "ah cripes eva sign it
yourself i'm busy". this will enable manny to get the work order
signed.

Now manny must make his way back to eva, she will now gladly sign
the work order. Glottis can now modyfy the car and manny is off
to the land of the living (a scary place for dead people)

Manny has arrived at the cafe which killed people by
foodpoisoning.
-manny must get out his sycthe and open the brown package on the
floor.

Next we see manny in the packaging room, it looks like the dead
person he collected was not worth all the hassel, dominic hurley
got all the good clients, what a cheater.

Manny must now make his way down to the festival for the day of
the dead.
-make manny visit one of the tents, a clown is making balloon
animals. Manny should ask the clown for a balloon worm, and then
another one. (they will come in use later)
-manny must then visit the next tent and pick up a french
stick.

Manny has to clog up the mailing system that the red monster
controls (you would have met him earlier complaining about people
dumping their litter down the tube).
-Get manny to go into the packaging room (the room where he
packaged the skeleton he found in the cafe)get manny to fill up
one of the worm ballons with the red pump and the other with the
blue pump.

Manny must then go back up to his office.
-get manny to put both ballon worms (now filled with packaging)
down the mailing system.

This will clog up the system.

Manny must now go down to the tube room (opposite the packaging
room) the red monster will be fixing the mailing system.
-manny must turn the bolt on the door and then leave.

this means that when the red monster has left after fixing the
mailing system the door to it will remain unlocked.
-manny must now use the card he punched earlier by putting it
into the slot on the mailing system.

This will allow manny to see were the next dead person will be
allowing him to get a good client for once. Manny and glottis
then rescue the new found dead.

Back in mannys office the client is not telling manny anything.
-manny must go out of the office, he will be sent by don copel
(his boss) to the shack in the garage.

Manny is locked in the shack because his boss blames him for
losing his client (the client who was sitting in his office had
dissapeared when manny walked out of the office)

-manny should knock on the shack, even though he is inside it.

A character will appear.
-manny should tell the character that he wants to get out and get
even and that he knows the business is crooked and that he
intends to blow the lid on the whole department.

The character is salvador an army skeleton who has been
investigating the corrupt business that manny usede to work for.
Eva is also working with salvador they both need his help. They
want manny to find some eggs for their project.
-manny must go up to the ledge again, this time however manny
must go around the corner passed his boss's office and to dominos
office, his window is open.
-manny must take a green bird like statue from dom's office. Its
in the top desk draw.

Manny must now go back round to the rope but instead of going
down manny must climb up even higher to the roof.
-manny must use the statue from dom's office to tie to the rope,
then he must through the rope to the ladder leading up to the
roof. Manny must climb up the ladder.

Once on the roof manny sees pigeons they are guarding the eggs,
manny can't even get close.
-manny must move away from the pigeons towards a bowl like shape
on the roof, get manny to put another ballon into the bowl and
the bread stick crumbled up on top of it.

then get manny to move a few steps back.

This will get the pigeons to flock over to the bread, while they
eat the bread the balloon will pop scaring all the pigions away.
manny can now grab the eggs.

Manny must now go back to salvador (down the underground base
shown in the video) but salvado wont allow manny to leave town
without his teeth.
-manny must go to salvadors office (go through his office door
next to mannys office not through the window) and get the gum
shield.

-manny then must go to the shack in the grage and poor some
liquid into the gum shield and make an impression of his teeth.

manny now must give this to salvador.

YEAR 1 IS NOW COMPLETE AND MANNY NOW MOVES ON TO THE PETRIFIED
FOREST!

Ahh, Grim Fandango. Perhaps one of the last of its genre, and
its nice to see that the point ‘n’ clicks have gone out in style
with this one. This is perhaps one of the finest examples of the
genre ever, although it puts in a little twist that you might not
be expecting. You don’t move or pick things up by clicking, in
fact the game does not use the mouse at all. Here are the
default controls.

DEFAULT CONTROLS
==========================
UP ARROW – Makes Manny walk in the direction he is facing.
LEFT ARROW – Rotates Manny to his left.
RIGHT ARROW – Rotates Manny to his right.
DOWN ARROW – Manny will walk backwards away from the direction he
is facing.

NUMBERS 0-9 - Pressing a button will make Manny pull out the
object that is assigned to that button. His Scythe is number 1
and as he collects items the numbers 2,3,4 are used up and so on.
If he uses an item up then all the items above that item will
move down the numbers.

SHIFT – Used in conjunction with Up or Down, makes Manny run.
Hold SHIFT as well as the Up or Down button to utilise the run
feature.

ENTER – Manny will use the object in his hands if he is holding
one, if his hands are empty he will Use any object he currently
has targeted (more on that below)
E – Manny will examine the item in his hands. If there is no
item in his hands he will comment on whatever he is looking at.

THE TARGETING SYSTEM
=========================
Now because Grim Fandango doesn’t use a mouse where you can
highlight things and know whether they can be used, instead when
he’s in the vicinity of an intractable object Manny will turn his
head towards it. When Manny’s head is turned he is said to be
‘targeting’ something and pressing ENTER or E while Manny has
targeted something means he will do something relative to what he
has targeted. It seems a bugger to explain but in game it’s very
simple.

YEAR ONE
=========================
:: El Marrow

:: Manny’s Office
You start in Manny’s office. From here you can check Manny’s
mail (the tube behind his desk.) Across the desk near the door
is a PACK OF CARDS. Pick them up and take them (as well as the
MEMO from his tube) outside his office. Domino’s office is next
to yours, but you can’t do much in there yet. Instead I would go
and visit the Secretary, Eva. Have a chat with her and while
you’re there use the CARDS on the HOLEPUNCH resting on her desk
to put a hole in one of the cards.

Take the door on the left to appear in the garage. It might not
look like anyone’s around, but go over to the shack in the corner
and knock on the door. You’ll meet Glottis, the demon who fixes
up cars for your company. You need to get to the poisoning but
don’t have a driver, so convince Glottis to take you. Tell him
he’s not too big, the cars are too small. Attaboy, Glottis!

:: The Work Card
Now go back upstairs and outside onto the street. Manny needs
his work order signed but Don Copal, his boss, is busy. In fact,
the boss is not in his office at all! Get out into the street
and go left down the alleyway. Climb the rope up onto the ledge
and run round to Don’s office. You can get in through the
windows. Here, you’ll notice that Don’s computer is relaying a
message to reception. You can change the message through his
computer. Change it to “You sign it for me, will ya?” And go
back to Eva. Now that she can sign your work order you and
Glottis can go for a ride! Go and see Glottis!

Once in the Land of the Living, use the scythe on the corpse in
the café. Watch the cut scene. Manny needs a good client, and
fast. Go and look around in Domino’s office.

:: The Mail Chute
Now go downstairs as if you’re going out into the street and
you’ll meet the janitor. He’s pretty angry, yeah? Head out into
the street and go and visit the stalls. Stock up. Get BREAD,
two DEAD WORM balloons and another random BALLOON from the clown.
Head back to the DOD building. Go into the packing room and
fill each ‘DEAD WORM with the two different PACKING FLUIDS. Go
to your office and put the BALLOONS through your mail chute.
Teehee! That won’t please the janitor at all. Go and visit him.
While he’s working on the postal machine, which you’ve just
broken, turn the wheel on the door to slide the bolt through.
Now when the janitor leaves you can Go back into the postal room.
Grab the FIRE EXTINGUISHER. Use the CARD with holes in it on
the red pipe. This will unlock the machine and you’ll block a
message. The message is to Domino, it’s a good client! Quick,
go and get Mercedes Colomar!

:: The Love Shack
The plot thickens…and it turns out that DOD is crooked, after
all. After the cut-scene you’ll appear locked in Glottis’ shack.
Play with the GOOP and go and knock on the door. Tell the dark
figure that you want to get out, to get even. Tell him you want
to prove the department runs a crooked game. That seems to
persuade him.

:: The Underground Base and the Eggs
You’ll appear in an underground base. The dark figure turned out
to be Salvador Lemonez, head of the LSA. He wants to restore
justice to the DOD too, he knows that they are crooked. And –
surprise – Eva the secretary is an undercover spy for the LSA!
Talk to Salvador about your mission. Seems that you need to get
him some pigeon EGGS. Head out of the LSA HQ and you’ll find
yourself in the alleyway next to the DOD building. Go and climb
the rope to get onto the roof. Scoot around the edge of the
building and climb through the windows into Domino’s office.
Check in his draws to find a piece of CORAL. Hit his punchbag a
few times and his MOUTHPEICE will fall, grab it. Head back out
onto the roof and select the CORAL. Make sure Manny is checking
out the ROPE on the ground (be careful he isn’t targeting the
rope to climb down) and press ENTER. Manny will tie the coral to
the rope, thus making a Grapple Hook. Hurrah! Now chuck the
Grapple Hook up onto the roof and climb up onto the top of DOD.

:: Say Tartar to DOD (see what I did there?)
Whizz over to the pigeons. Seems you can’t get near them without
being driven off, eh? There’s a metal dish on the floor near to
their nests. Take a Random BALLOON, and place it in the dish.
Select your BREAD and crumble it into the dish. The pigeons will
come over, peck at the bread and burst the balloon, scaring them
away! Genius! Now you can go and pinch some EGGS. Take them
back to LSA HQ. Do this by descending the ropes back down, into
the alleyway. There’s an eye in the wall, go and peek into it.
The lift will rise for you. Go and give Salvador the eggs.
Isn’t he pleased! But you want to get out of this town. LSA
needs your teeth imprints to hack into DOD…somehow you need to
make a replica of your teeth. Go out into the alley and through
the hangar door into the garage. In Glottis’ shack, use your
MOUTHPIECE and cover it in GOOP from the machine. While nothing
is targeted, press ENTER and Manny will shove the mouthpiece in
his gob, creating a perfect replica of his teeth. Go and show
Eva.

Now you and Glottis can leave town! Glottis is coming with you
because he was fired from DOD. You take a ride in your car and
end up in…

:: The Petrified Forest
Glottis is so upset about being fired he tears out his own heart
and throws it to the spiders. Follow the direction Glottis threw
his heart and you should see it caught up in a spiders web. Pick
up a BONE from nearby and throw it into the web…then use your
SCYTHE and hack the web down. Pick up the BONE and the HEART.

Use the heart on Glottis and he will revive. You can get going
again. As Glottis drives he knocked down the sign post. Get out
of the Bonewagon and pick up the signpost. Plant it. It seems
to keep pointing towards the top-left entrance…take the post into
here and plant it in the middle.

Pick up your key! Back in the central hub there’s a road where
your Bonewagon can’t go, the road is too bumpy and you’ll need
suspension. Let’s go and get some then…Take the north-east road
to arrive in a factory area. A tree is being pumped. Those
pumps on the tree would make great shocks for the car, but how to
get them?

:: Pump that stump!
To shake the pumps off the tree you need to get the two left
pumps working oppositely to the two right pumps. The power to
the pumps can be cut off by running the wheelbarrow over the
power lines. Cut the power and activate the power by shifting
the wheelbarrow over the pipes. You’ll know you’ve got it right
when the tree starts shaking like crazy. Now turn the power off
by flicking the red lever. Glottis will climb the tree and try
to dismantle the pumps. Be naughty and turn the pumps back on
while he’s up there…the tree will tear apart and now you can
ride…like eagles on pogosticks!

:: Flaming Beavers!
Now you can take the bumpy road. Go through the door in the
middle of the damn. You’ll arrive on the damn of bones,
patrolled by flaming beavers! Equip your FIRE EXTINGUISHER and
hold down ENTER to spray foam all over those beavers,
extinguishing them for a short while. But Glottis will only come
if all the beavers are gone. Take the path on the left and run
down to the shore before the river of ooze. A beaver will stroll
behind you. Whip out a BONE and huck it into the ooze, now
quickly get out your EXTINGUISHER and start spraying. As the
beaver jumps after the bone he will get extinguished and die,
yay! You can get more BONES from the damn. The spot Manny will
target is near the green-looking bone at this end of the damn.
Repeat the technique to kill 2-3 more beavers. Now Glottis and
Manny can cross the damn, and head to…

:: Rubacava
This old sea-town is where Many will be staying for the next
year, but he doesn’t know that yet…walk into the fog and you’ll
fall into the sea. Velasco will help you out. Have a chat with
him and then go to the café and visit Celso. He is looking for
his wife. Get her picture off him and show it to Velasco.
Velasco tells you that she sailed off with another man, that she
came through here about two weeks ago. Go and tell Celso…he
won’t believe you. Go and get the ships logs off Velasco and
show them to him. There, harsh but fair. Now you’re in charge
of the café…roll on a year.

YEAR TWO
=======================
:: Rubacava
You’re in your new office of the Calavera Café…nice. Pick up the
LETTER from Salvador from the table and go downstairs. Talk to
Lupe, your ‘bouncer’. Go outside and visit the place where you
fell into the sea last year. That raven sounds like Meche…use
the binoculars and follow the cut-scene.

After Velasco has dragged you out of the sea again talk to him
about the Limbo. You want to get on the cargo tug. You’re ready
to work. Use up all the answers available. To get on the tug
you’re gonna need to get rid of Naranja, get a union card and get
Glottis some tools. Let’s get Glottis his kit first.

: Glottis’ Tool
Leave the docks and you’ll arrive in the central ‘hub’ of
Rubacava. Left takes you to the docks, right to outside the
betting station (and to Toto the tattooist) And straight up
leads to the Blue Casket, a jazz bar. Go to the Blue Casket and
hang with the hep cats. They’ll hate you at first…move to out
back in the club, and talk to Lola the photographer. She’ll take
a photo of Olivia and Nick kissing and run off…they won’t be too
happy with that. Talk to Olivia, but she’ll shun you. Go back
to the hep cats at the table and show them Salvador’s LETTER.
They’ll love you, the fickle funksters. Get that LABOUR BOOK off
them and head off out the club. Go down to the docks. The
SeaBee’s are a-moaning because they’re getting all the work and
no pay, or no work without pay, or…they can’t seem to know what
they want. Give Terry the LABOUR BOOK, that’ll sort him out…or
get him in jail. Whoops! Looks like we need a lawyer. We’ll
sort that out later.

Head back to the Calavera Café and head downstairs. At the bar
is a bottle of LIQUER, containing real gold flakes! Nab it. Go
through the door into the casino and talk to Chowchilla Charlie.
Ask him to get you a fake union card. He’ll do it, but only if
you get his money back from the High Roller’s Lounge. He’ll give
you the VIP PASS for the club. Show the VIP PASS to Glottis.
He’ll run off like a shot. Chowchilla Charlie will also give you
a device that can print fake betting slips. Take this PRINTER
off him, you’ll be needing it later.
Back in the lobby, Lupe gives you an envelope from Lola…it’s
empty. Someone must’ve already pinched what was inside…hmmm….

:: The High-rollers Lounge
Exit the club and turn left. Take the elevator and walk over the
blimp bridge. Pop into the morgue and speak to Membrillo the
undertaker. He has two ‘bodies’ to examine but can’t find
identification on them. If only he could find something metal on
them…a metal detector! Cross the blimp bridge and pass the
stairs down into the high-roller’s lounge. Glottis is in there.
Seems he has a bit of an unhealthy passion for betting…ewww. Go
into the kitchen and nab the turkey-BASTER. Some frenchie keeps
coming in and bothering Manny. Shut him up by waiting till he
goes into the pantry and close the doors behind him. Shove your
SCYTHE between the handles to lock him in, hahaha! But now
no-one is serving Glottis…looks like he’ll have to serve himself.

Glottis will empty the barrel. You’ll be using that later.
Go into the lounge and find Nick Virago. He was the lawyer being
intimate with Olivia in the Blue Casket. Tell him you need to
get a pal outta jail. Start sucking up to him, answer all his
questions with gut-wrenching butt-sucking. Then blow him out of
the water by threatening to tell Maximino about Nick and his
wife, Olivia (gasps) !!! Nick will storm off, leaving you to
pick up his cigarette CASE. It looks like it has a secret
compartment, but you can’t get into it…damn.

:: Virago’s Fag-Box
Go back out onto the blimp bridge but turn right up the stairs to
the security station. Whip out the CASE and show it to Carla.
Tell her that you found it under her desk after some stranger put
it there. She’ll think it’s a bomb and detonate it. The blast
opens up the secret compartment and reveals a KEY, just for
you.

:: The Metal Detector and the Tin Opener
Now try and walk through the metal-detector gates. They’ll beep
and Carla will remove all your metal objects. You’re clean.
Teeheehee! Try taking a swig of LIQUER (with the Gold Flakes,
nudge wink) and step through again. Carla will have to
strip-search you! Once in the backroom, talk to Carla about her
metal-detector. Interrupt her and talk about the detector. Say
the only reason you’re talking to her is to get her
metal-detector. She’ll get in a huff (the cow) and huck her
detector out the window. Betch! Now I’ll have to go and get the
metal detector, eh? Well then lets go! Leave the station, go
downstairs and past the betting windows. Cross past the stuffed
cat and you’ll emerge at the giant kitty-litter box. All around
are huge tins of kitty-food. On top of one is the TIN OPENER,
grab it.

Whip out your scythe and walk onto the catwalk above the
kitty-litter tray. Phew…you should start to hear the metal
detector beeping as it senses your scythe. Keep moving around on
the board until the beeping is at its most intense and press USE.
Manny will fish out the METAL DETECTOR. Yay!

:: The Empty Barrel
Whip back over to the High-Roller’s Lounge and into the kitchen.
Climb the ladder and when Manny has targeted the empty barrel,
use the TIN OPENER on it to take off the lid (surprisingly
enough). Manny will jump in and trigger a cut scene. You’ll end
up in the basement.

:: Locked in the Basement
Nab the Forklift and take it into the elevator. Point the
forklift in the direction of the door and as soon as the elevator
starts to move ram the forks into the door. They’ll catch and
you’ll find…

:: The Secret Room + The Union Card
Raise the forks to prise open the lift doors and enter the secret
room. Follow the passages and you’ll discover the SUITCASE, full
of tickets for the number 9. Go and find Charlie and give the
case to him, you’ll get your precious UNION CARD.

:: Lola in the Lighthouse
Trek over to the lighthouse and use Virago’s key on the door.
This will trigger another cut-scene…poor Lola…pick up the plastic
TILE. Hey, this tile comes from Lupé’s coat system…go and give
the TILE to Lupe. You’ll receive a COAT, and inside is a NOTE
with the words, ‘Rusty Anchor’. Hmmm.

:: The Turkey Baster and poor Naranja
Using the BASTER, hop over to the Blue Casket’s kitchen and grab
a good dollop of the HOOKAH WATER. Now go and see the tattooist,
who’s currently working on Naranja. Go and open his fridge and
pull out one of the crisping boxes to jam the door open. This
will distract the tattooist and cause Naranja a lot of pain.
While their distracted, go over to Naranja’s bottle and squeeze
in the HOOKAH WATER. Now when Naranja takes another swig, he’ll
conk out.

:: Membrillo and the Dog Tags
As Naranja is sleeping off that nasty brew, search him and you’ll
find his DOG TAGS. Go and see Membrillo in the morgue and when
he’s not looking, drop the DOG TAGS into one of the corpses. Now
give Membrillo the METAL DETECTOR. He’ll use the detector, find
Naranja’s tags and ring Velasco, telling him Naranja is dead.
Looks like there’s a space on the ship now, eh?

:: Day at the Races
Go and show Toto (the tattooist methinks) the NOTE, and talk to
him about the Rusty Anchor. He’ll give you a PHOTO. It’s a
photo-finish of one of the races. It was the 6th race, you can
see from the photo. Hmmm…head back over to the cat tracks and go
check out the plaque underneath that fat stuffed cat. The place
tells you that it was the second week of the season. Program
those numbers into Charlie’s PRINTER and receive your BETTING
SLIP. Show the SLIP to Doug who’s in one of the booths upstairs.
You’ll receive the NAUGHTY PHOTO of Virago and his cheap
mistress! Now we have something to bargain with.

:: Blackmail releases the Bee
Show the NAUGHTY PHOTO to Virago in the High-Rollers Lounge.
Looks like Terry the Sea-Bee is sprung! Now you can have his
TOOLS. So now what, we’ve got a UNION CARD, TOOLS, and Naranja’s
out of the way! But before we can set off, we need to get
Glottis to stop betting.

:: Stop Glottis Betting
Head up to Manny’s Office and open the hidden panel in his desk.
Use the buttons to rig the roulette wheel, causing Constable
Bogan to loose. He’ll raid the club, and now Glottis and Manny
can leave! And that’s the end of Year Two! Doesn’t time fly?

YEAR THREE
=======================
:: At Sea
Assassins! They’ve boarded your vessel and sprouted the entire
crew! Walk away from the ‘corspes’ and Glottis will save you,
locking both himself and Manny in the Engine Room. But what’s
this…the assassins have set up a bomb and locked the door! How
are we going to get out?

:: The Engine Room
Use the right engine. Raise the right anchor then lower it
again. This will hook it on the left anchor. Now raise the left
anchor. Once done, use your SCYTHE on the chain outside the
window, pulling the anchor up. Lower the right anchor. Now pull
both engine levers towards you, putting the ship in reverse. And
you’re off!

:: Under the Sea
You can’t move out of this pool of light else the SeaDemons will
get you. See that’s wandering guy? He’s called Chepito, and he
has the light you need. Talk to him first, then when he comes
back grab him. Using his light, head towards the Pearl.

:: The Octopus Submarine
Seems to me, that the octopus is stuffing people in his submarine
and then taking them away! And he’s spotted Manny, Glottis and
Chepito! But he can’t reach you, yet…head over to the rock on
the right and check out the sticky creepers on it. Walk through
the creepers and back around, behind the rock. Chepito will try
and follow you and get stuck in the creepers! Now that the
octopus is distracted, Manny and Glottis can hitch a ride on the
sub.

:: The Edge of the World
Take the path on your right to the door at the end of the hall.
Inside is Meche and Domino, have a chat with them. Glottis will
enter the room and Domino will get rid of him, sending him over
the edge of the world! That does it.

You’ll wake up in a room with a cage. Inside the cage are two
imprisoned angelitos. Have a chat with them. Tell them you want
to help them escape. Insist that your hands are not too big.
Tell you don’t have any tiny tools. Now you’ve got the HAMMER.

:: The Gun, the hammer, the drill and the pantyhose
Leave your office and go talk to Meche next door in the waiting
room. She’s convinced you’ve got a gun, and you know what
Manny’s like, always has to give people what they want…move the
ashtray and Meche will singe her pantyhose on it, causing a
rather worrying skeleton-porn cut scene. Ewwww! Go and get the
PANTYHOSE from the bin.
Go out into the sea and head left to the mines. Chepito’s there.
Give him the HAMMER in exchange for the BUST-ALL drill, a device
that can bust through anything! Now give him the PANTYHOSE, and
you’ll get a GUN. Give the GUN to Meche.

:: The Vault
In Domino’s office, you’ll watch as Domino disarms Meche and
locks her in the vault. It’s up to you to bust her out. Go to
the valt door and use the BUST-ALL on the hinges. This will
expose the gold tumblers. This is the tricky bit – it takes a
lot of patience so persevere. You’ll notice that the tumblers
are cylindrical with one side cut away, making them flat on one
side. Using the USE button, you need to spin the tumblers you
that the flat sides of all the tumblers are facing the crack of
the door. Once they’re all lined up shove your SCYTHE into the
tumblers and pull the vault handle. It opens!

:: Trapped in the vault
Walk in and close the door. Now you’re both locked in, great…or
so you think? See that circuit above the door? Touch it with
your SCYTHE. Then go and use your SCYTHE to hack at the
sprinklers. Turn on the valve where the pipes run down the
walls, and the water all flows away. It drains through one
specific tile. Hmmm…

Go over to the suit of armour’s AXE and steal it. Drag it over
to the one tile where all the water drains and drop the end of
the AXE on that tile, smashing it and revealing an escape route.
But before you go, open the suitcases it the corner…number 9
tickets!

:: On the Beach
You and Meche will emerge on a beach. Head left and you see a
huge crane. Run up the steps and then climb the ladder to take
control of the crane. Move the crane over to the beach and lower
it. Get off the crane, down to where the chain is and use the
BUST-ALL on the scoop. Go back to the crane but don’t climb that
ladder, run down the conveyor. Head over to the switch and
change the coveyor’s direction so that it’s running toward the
edge of the world. Now go back to the crane, pick up the chain
and dump it onto the conveyor. Get off the crane and head to the
conveyor. Follow the conveyor belt down to the edge of the
sea.

:: Mischief with the crane
Keep following the conveyor and eventually you’ll have to climb
along the side of it. Climb down the chain at the end. Glottis!
You’re alive! Glottis is repairing a ship, teetering over the
edge of the world. Go back to the conveyor switch and keep
changing directions until the chain hooks around the ship’s
anchor. Now raise the ship! Take it over to that beach and
release it. Once there’s you’ll see that Meche has rescued the
Angelitos and we’re almost ready to escape…but there’s a fat
coral reef in the way and the ship won’t be able to break through
without some help. Well, I’ve got just the thing. Head back to
the crane and raise the chain. Dump it in the grinders near the
beach. Then pull the chain out again, releasing the grinders.
Glottis will fit them to the ship and we’re off!

:: Escape from Domino
Domino’s followed you in his Octopus submarine and is trying to
stop you leave! Jump down onto the deck of the sub. Use your
SCYTHE on the octopus’ eye. That was easy, wasn’t it?

:: The Edge of the World
Talk to the mechanics. Seems like Glottis has been too long
without racing. He needs to race, or he will die. You need to
find a way of propelling him. Go into the kitchen and open the
draw under the mug rack. Take a RAG. Use the RAG on the Oil
Drum’s outside the kitchen. Put the Oily RAG in the toaster. It
will start a fire. Hmmm, this might work! Take another rag and
dip it in oil again.

:: The coffin, Meche’s call
Go out of the garage and down the mountain. There’s a car crash,
and their luggage of coffins has fallen out. Check out the open
coffin, and you’ll receive a MUG. Only it’s filled with packing
foam, ewwww. Go back up to the garage. Meche is calling you…go
past the garage and continue up the mountain. Ask the GateKeeper
where the others are. He’ll accuse you of stealing tickets. Try
and persuade him otherwise, but a better idea would be to show
him proof. We’ll do that later. Now, we need to save Glottis.

:: Saving Glottis
Head back to the garage and put your MUG on the mug rack. Dump
your Oily RAG into the toaster again. The fires will ignite the
packing foam in the mug, causing the mug to shoot around the
room. That packing foam’s a pretty good fuel, eh? Looks like we
know how to save Glottis then. Watch the cut scene, and then
we’ll end up in Rubacava. Again.

:: Rubacava
You are at the extendo bridge at the railroad tracks. Head over
to the warehouse where the Bonewagon is stored. It’s been rigged
with a bomb! And the bomb is triggered by a domino run…how
ironic.

Go and see Velasco. Tell him you traded his ship in for a dog
sled team. You’ll receive his ship in a BOTTLE. Head over to
the Blue Casket and fill the BOTTLE with Coffin Shooter from the
Keg. Head out of the kitchen. Apparently, Olivia wants to go to
El Marrow. She reckons she’ll meet you by the Bonewagon. But
for now go over to Toto’s parlour. Open his cupboard and steal
the NITROGEN. Now you’re all set. Go and see Glottis back at
the Bonewagon and give him the BOTTLE full of that nasty
lemonade. Tell him where to go and find more. When he returns,
gross him out to make him barf into the warehouse. Use the
NITROGEN on the floor, freezing Glottis’ insides into a lovely
smooth walkway over the bomb. Go and defuse the explosives.

:: Nuevo Marrow
You are brought into LSA headquarters. Your new briefing is that
you must cut off Hector Lemanz’s supply of guns. Intelligence
Reports show that Bowsley, the owner of the gun-shop downtown, is
Hector’s dealer. Let’s go sort him out! At the cut-scene,
you’ll receive a threatening LETTER from Hector. There’s a
carrier-pigeon at LSA HQ, give the LETTER to the pigeon, then
show the pigeon the PHOTO of the ex-LSA-recruit, found on the
table. The pigeon will take the threatening letter to Bowsley,
making Bowsley think that Hector’s after him. TeeHee!

:: The snow-machine and the Coffee
Now you have to track Bowsley down. As he ran, he left a trail
of Sproutella – the deadly substance that causes bone to become a
morbid garden. In LSA HQ, pick up the BONE on the table. Leave
LSA HQ and go talk to Glottis. Take the REMOTE CONTROL off him.
This controls the Bonewagon’s suspension. Go up the ladder and
down the stairs and chat to the cast. Take the COFFEE POT, climb
the ladder, and pour it onto the cast through the snow-machine!
They’ll run off. While you’re up there, stick the BONE into the
snow-machine and remove the grinding part to make a BONE-GRINDER.

Ewwww! Head back down the ladder and go down the set of stairs
to the right. You’ll be dressed up to look like some kind of
red-faced butler. Hmmm…enough of that, we’ve got bigger fish to
fry.

:: Passing the Dragon
Head back down to where Glottis is and go right into the
catacombs. Try sprinkling bone-flakes around with the
BONE-GRINDER. Where the Sproutella trail left by Bowsley is,
flowers will grow. Follow the trail to the dark tunnel up ahead,
but go and get Glottis before you venture any further.
And here’s the dragon! Using the REMOTE CONTROL, raise the
Bonewagon and jump onto the ladder and run along the balcony.
The Dragon will follow your movements, but as he turns his tail
falls underneath the Bonewagon. Use the REMOTE CONTROL to lower
the car and the Dragon will be trapped, leaving you to carry on
to the Flower Shop.

:: Bowsley at the Flower Shop
As you enter the shop, the bell above the door will ring and
Bowsley will go crazy, threatening to shoot you. Use your SCYTHE
on the bell above the door, then leave the shop and re-enter.
Suddenly, all is calm…what the hell!?
Talk Bowsley into giving you a GUN and some SPROUTELLA. These
two pieces of kit will come in very handy later on.

:: The Casino
Go to the casino. The once-janitor (haven’t things changed in
the last four years?) is now a Bouncer and won’t let you into
Hector’s office without some decent clothes. Head down into the
slot-machines and chat to the guy on the unicycle. He’s an
undercover agent for the LSA. At the money he’s tampering with
the slot machines so they always pay-out. This way, Hector won’t
have as much cash to spend on weaponry. Genius! Talk to Meche.
She and Chowchilla Charlie have arranged to go to a Toga Party,
only Charlie won’t leave the slots until he’s won, and Manny
needs his suit to go and see Hector. A plan emerges…
Take the SHEET from Meche and throw it over Charlie. While he’s
struggling, ask the LSA agent to rig Charlie’s machine so that it
pays out. Now Charlie’s won, you get his suit and can enter
Hector’s lair…or so you think.

:: Passing the Bouncer

The Bouncer still won’t let you pass unless you REALLY know
Hector. He’ll ask you questions about Hector. Always answer
with the LAST number that appears on the Keno board behind Manny.
Now you can pass through.

:: Inside Hector’s Office
Inside the waiting room is Celso, one of your old staff at the
Calavera Café. He’s finally found his wife too. Talk to him,
exhaust all the conversation options until you have to tell him
the tickets are counterfeit. But before you can finish, Hector
appears and offers you a job! He’ll take you back to your old
office. Pull your GUN on Hector. Watch the cut-scene, where
Hector will try to escape across the rooftops. His suitcase full
of number 9 tickets make it, but Hector falls coz he’s fat.

:: Up on the Roof
Get up onto the roof and have a look around. The electric sign
is being held up by the parapet, but only just. You need to make
the sign fall to bridge the gap between buildings so you can
reach the suitcase. Go up to the crack, and use the BONE-GRINDER
on it. Then sprinkle some SPROUTELLA onto the bone and the
flowers that grow will cause the sign to fall. Now you can go
and get the suitcase. (Note; After doing this, all the bone will
be used up. Don’t worry though as you have no more need for
it.)

:: At the Railway Station
Most of this is a cut-scene, but still there are a few pointers.
Go and meet Meche at the Station and open the suitcase. Her
number 9 ticket will fly into her hand. A raven will appear and
attack Meche, get the suitcase quickly. While Glottis is dealing
with the crow Olivia will pull up in a limo. Jump in!

:: Hector’s Garden
So now you know that it was a trap set by Olivia. In the
cut-scene many will confront Hector and get shot. To stop the
flower spreading, use your NITROGEN on it and pluck the flower
away. Go down to the car and talk to Salvador. He is in the
back seat. Watch as he commits suicide to kill Olivia. Ahh,
bless…but in the boot of the car is the Gun and Ammo you will
need to finish off Hector. And the key to open the boot is with
Sal’s body. Open the suitcase and grab Salvador’s number 9
TICKET. Head to around the back of the greenhouse. Whip out the
TICKET and walk around. As you near Sal’s body the TICKET will
wobble and move. Once you’ve found the body, pick up the KEY.
Got and use the KEY on the boot of the car and pick up the GUN
and AMMO. Go over to the water-tank and shoot it with your GUN.
Watch as the Sproutella-spiked water runs through the sprinkler
system onto Hector…Hector is no more. Now you have the number 9
tickets and can head off to the 7th level, Heaven!
Congratulations, you’ve completed the game!
