Unlocking the weapons and characters in Dynasty Warriors 3 is no
easy task. Most of the unlocking I worked out myself but some of
the 4th level weapons were too difficult to find. For this, I
have included extracts from www.gamefaqs.com on finding the
weapons.
First you need to understand about the 3 Kindoms. On selecting
your character, a colour will be shown in the bacjground, they
key is: Shu is the Green Force, Wei is the Blue Force and Wu is
the Red Force. No one Force is more powerful then an other, it's
all just down to preference on what character you think suits you
or what side you like the look of.
Shown with a '-' is the step taken to unlock the feature whilst a
'*' shows what is inlocked;

The wepaons are perhaps the most hardest feature to unlock for
the chraracters. Unfortunatly, the levels are huge which makes
explaining exact locations of the weapons difficult but please
bear with me, once you get to grips with each of the levels you
should be able to understand the directions. Fortuantly, some
weapons can be found withut the assitance of directions, you just
need to find the named general. Shown below are the Names of the
character whose weapon it is, the level where the wepaon is and
directions to find the weapon, in that order.

To aid you in gaining the 4th weapons there are a few general
hints that you should follow:
* The larger the combo that you preform on an enemy, the bigger
the reward. An 8 combo get's you a +2 attack/defense, a 16 hit
combo is +4 whilst 24 hit equal a is +8 to attack or defense
power-up. Pulling off the larger combos will make your character
stronger much faster.
* Equipming the Luck Orb is a must in the equipment list. It
offers a higher chance of finding food/power-up's on a victim
always useful for when the set amount of food on the level runs
out.
* The Musou attack isn't very powerful so try not to use it to
defeat lone generals. Instead, save it to break up large groups
of the enemy or to break a generals defense.
* The level difficulty offers bigger rewards if it is set higher;
easy offering small power-up's on weapons whilst the hard setting
has the opposite effect. It's importent to make sure that your
character is strong before attempting the game on Hard.
