Jak and Daxter the precursor legacy boss walkthrough by El Pinko

Following the release of Jak 2: renegade, I fancied reminding myself of the story, then I decided some of the bosses can be difficult so I wrote this walkthrough, I hope it helps.

Boss 1: Crazy plant
This boss is in the ‘forbidden jungle’, he’s the first boss you encounter and therefore the easiest. When the battle begins stay toward the back of the arena, this way the plant can’t lunge forward and eat you. Next up, to damage the plant you need to make it vulnerable, you do this by first killing the little turtle things he sets on you, you need to wait till the spikes on their shells go in (they do this after about 5 seconds and stay away for 3 seconds) then spinning attack them, when they are all dead the plant will lean back, now you need to strike. Jump up the leaves on the body of the plant and punch him in the head, now stand back and repeat the process, with an increasing number of turtle things. Easy peasy.

Boss 2: Attack of enemies at the dark eco pool
When doing a mission on ‘Mystery Island’ these guys all jump you, you need to grab the red eco and let the enemies come to you. Stay near the red eco so you can top up when running low.

Boss 3: Boggy swamp attack
For this battle all you need to do is stay by the yellow eco, and use square to melee fire at the enemies and blow them all away, make sure you hit the enemy generators as well or you’ll be there forever!

Boss 4: Robot monster over Lava River
This is the most platform style fight in the game, literally, what you need to do is jump between the tree platforms at great speed to dodge the fire balls, after large amount are dodged a platform will emerge from below for you to run up to the boss, collecting yellow eco on the way, now aim and fire at the monster, then retreat before the rolling bolder hits you, taking out the platform, making you repeat the process, but slightly faster. Be aware the platform gets worse as the battle continues!

Boss 5: Ambush in final stage
This battle can be very difficult if you mess this up, what you need to do is grab the yellow eco you saw in the room before this one, use it to blast the red eco vent open then attack all your enemies. If you don’t open the red vent you will have problems.

Final boss
Difficult with the little health you will have (4 hits in the whole thing and your dead) and the battle divides into 4 stages.

Stage 1. Use the yellow eco surrounding you to blast the robots eye, moving constantly to dodge the fire coming at you. Once you’ve destroyed the eye a bomb will be thrown onto your platform, quickly you need to activate the launch pad with blue eco and launch into the air to dodge the explosion, be careful not to land in the dark eco on the way back down!

Stage 2. Now you’ve got to do a mental fight against a lot of monsters whilst dodging fire! Use yellow eco to shoot the enemies and keep topping it up. Once all monsters have been killed you need to dodge another bomb as before.

Stage 3. run around the platform dodging all fire shots and shoot yellow eco at the robot in FIVE shot bursts, keep repeating this until the bomb arrives, then dodge this!

Stage 4. Go crazy firing at his arm, do it in 5 shot bursts and you should be ok, and once he’s defeated you will get a nice movie, but don’t make the mistake of putting the pad down, you will be thrown back into battle and must collect the light eco and fire the finishing shot, now your finished…honest.
