Retro Game Walkthroughs for Jet Set Radio Future (Xbox)
Submitted By: Cycloon
Jet Set Radio Future too me by surprise. Similar to the utterly genius Viewtiful Joe in style, but a bit older, don¡|t let the Japanese craziness put you off. It¡|s a brilliantly deep and fun game, with loads more modes than just this story, that I am ¡¥walking through¡| here¡K

Yellow Cans: 1 Spray can

Blue Cans: 5 spray cans

Red Cans: Health

Chapter 1

Garage

You will start as YoYo, just joining the GGs. Run up to the different members to learn some moves and then go over to Roboy. He can save the game and change the settings if you need to, as well as changing graffiti tags etc. Simply explore and talk to the members of the gang if you want to, then use the map to locate Dogenzaga Hill, the only available exit around.

Dogenzaga Hill

DJ Professor K will give you a run through of save points and then what you have to do on the level. Now, look on your map to see where all the graffiti is located. You need to spray this to complete the first section of the level. Once you have sprayed it all, look for a large blue dot on the map ¡V this is Beat, back up at the start of the section.

Talk to him and follow him when he runs away. Eventually he will challenge you to a race. Save it and then race him. The course is easy, and use the map to keep your speed up by going to correct way. Use boosts to aid you, and try to cut off the long downhill corners by jumping/smashing the fences and cutting the corners off. When you beat him, he will join the gang. Now the Rokkaku Police turn up. You have to ram into them at speed and spray them while they are on the ground ¡V a counter tells you how many there are left. Once all are dead, exit the level and go back to the garage.

Garage

Talk to Roboy to get some new moves, and then talk to any new people, then head on over to Shibuya Terminal.

Shibuya Terminal

Once again, you need to cover the graffiti, this time made by a gang called Poison Jam.
The said offenders will turn up once you have sprayed the nasty stuff, and use the blue sport to find and talk to them. You will need to follow their lead to keep up with them (not exactly, so you can get lost if you, er, want to). Talk to them after about 3 runs and they will flee, saying someone has come..
.
Combo turns up. Use the blue spot on the map to find him, and talk. He will challenge you ¡V do EXACTLY as he does. It isn¡|t too tricky, just watch out for cars if you fail ¡V you¡|ll need health. Once you have done this, he will join the gang as well.

Again, the Rokkaku turn up. Ram into them like before, but watch out for Hayashi and the more enclosed space ¡V the fence is electrified. Also, Hayashi takes more damage, so keep the pressure on him in continuous spray form.

Chapter 2

Garage

Again, save and talk to Roboy. Also, speak to some of the others for hints. Then leave for Shibuya Terminal, then Chuo Street.

Chuo Street

As you enter, the Rokkaku police send in some tanks. Skate around to spot them. DJProfessor Kwill instruct you on how to kill them ¡V spray both sides then the gunner who pops out the top. Once all are dead, Hayashi reappears. From the large plaza with steps leading down to the street level, go into the back of the building in the square and across the wire to knock him off ¡V or use the steps on the building Hayashi is on. Either spray him or send him flying off. Now spray all the Poison Jam tags again. Then, Poison jam turn up. Save and then accept the race challenge. You will have explored it, so it shouldn¡|t be too hard. Just don¡|t, like in any race, get stuck on fences and in small enclosed areas. Also, watch out for the dead end near the start ¡V you have to go up the telegraph poles and then jump at speed over the water, avoiding the fences. If you win, PJ will go to Rokkaku-dai Heights. Save, go to garage and then to Rokkaku-dai Heights.

Rokkaku-dai Heights

Spray the Stop and grab some cans, and go up the first rail you will find. Follow the PJ member to find more PJ members. Follow these to the Warehouse area. Jump on the angled telegraph pole and grind, then jump as high as possible to land on top of the warehouse. Talk to Rhyth and follow her (like with all of them). She will also join the GGs. Go through the warehouse and finish the Rokkaku policed here. Find the PJ members again and jump up the slanted pole they use, and then use the boards to wall ride and follow them. Talk to them again and they will leave again.

Now you have to spray the graffiti. Do so, and then find the crow-feeding person near the large statue. Go up the slanted pole and wall ride along the area to jump onto a platform, where PJ were found before. Tag the graffiti and use the metal stairs to find more Rokkaku Police and some armoured troops. Beat them and you should spot two more telephone poles ahead. Go up the first and jump/wallride towards the pope and get to the red-mesh platform. Walk around and spray all the tags and save at the next graffiti stop. Then, go up the pole nearest the Graffiti Stop and work your way using grinds/wallrides to reach a high platform ahead. Spray the tags and then battle the police and Hayashi again. Spray the remaining tags, if any, and use the telegraph poles to move along ¡V make sure to jump off the last wall ride to make it to the pipe. Walk down the walkway and take a left, and spray what should be the last of the graffiti. Spray any left, then go to the garage, save and got to 99th Street.

99th Street

Beat the spotlights and then spray the graffiti. Use the telephone wires to get most of them ¡V use the access point near the two dragons at Benton Tower. Rapid 99 will arrive once all the graffiti is sprayed. Save and jump into the fake fire coming out of one of the dragons. Note, you need 25 Graffiti Souls and finished Chuo Street, Rokkaku-Dai Heights and 99th Street Graffiti to make them show. Talk to them to get a Capture The Flag challenge.

Either race to get the firs two, or let them grab the first two and use the dragon tails to reach the 3rd flag before them, and consequently the 4th and 5th ¡V this is much easier.

DJ Professor K will come then speak to you on the radio, revealing Poison Jams hideout. Exit 99th Street by using a Dragons tail/road, and beat Hayashi.

Chapter 3

Garage

Save and talk to Roboy. Head over to Rokkaku-dai Heights.

Rokkaku-dai Heights

Go up the railway steps, then up the next to find the fork. Go right and find the warehouse again. Go through it and use the telegraph pole and jump over to the top of the warehouse. Look right and go down the pipe to Tokyo Underground Sewage Facility.

Tokyo Underground Sewage Facility

Garam will come to taunt you as you are caught, but if you do some tricks (talk to Roboy is you can¡|t) he will help you. Use the steel bars he throws down to go upwards and save at the Graffiti Stop after getting him to join the gang. The DJ will tell you to turn the switches to unlock the gate barring the Bottom Point of the Sewage Facility.

DJ Professor will tell you to do certain moves, such as a handplant, to get through the area. Skate to one side of the half-pipe and hold X while going upwards. Release and jump on the other side to get major air to automatically land on the platform above. Spray the first switch up here.

Go up the stairs and use the half-pipe to get more air to get up to the mesh platforms after grinding the rail. Spray the second switch up here. Carry on through the pipe area and save at the next Stop, and spray the 3rd switch.

Go left at the fork and grind the pipe at the bottom of the stairs, jump onto the platform and then be careful, and jump from the half-pipe up to the mesh and jump across the platforms. A boost dash and timed jump means you can, steering if necessary, make it to the switch and then exit the room the same way you cam in. Go back around the stairs you came down, and go into the next half pipe you see. Go right into the middle of the pipe and jump on the switch on the bottom of the half-pipe. Grind the spiral and then carry on through the pipe to the 5th switch. Go back out and back to the stairs again. Go up and then take a left at the switch and the Stop. Go into the half pipe and go straight on. Spray the 6th switch and enter the next half pipe ahead. Ride the bluey/brown pipes through until you come to a half-pipe that cuts across yours, with water in it. Handplant the half-pipe to get height to jump up to the 7th switch. Go through the next pipe ahead and grind it. When you reach the 3rd graffiti stop, save and go along the walkway and down the stairs. Go behind the stairs until you reach a blue pipe and grind this to auto-backflip to land on a platform. Hit the switch. Go back down the pipe/jump through the hole in the wall and go to the stairs near the 3rd stop. Go along the walkway the stairs lead to. Grind the blue pipe, flip and hit the switch. Go back to the stairs and enter the spiral tunnel at the top. Grind this and land on the platform, go right and grind the next spiral. Go forwards until you find a huge hole. Grind down a pipe into it and spray the final switch. Go through the small hole and drop down to the very beginning. Save and enter the new half pipe.

Bottom Point of the Sewage Facility

Save at the Graffiti Stop and grab the Mystery Tape. Basically, you use the same skills as you did to hit the switches to make it through the level to find Cube, the Poison Jam leader (hope that¡|s not an anti-Nintendo comment Sega) who will challenge you to a game of Taggers-Tag. You have to beat all 3 PJ members. Target one and attack him, then the next and so on. There are plenty of health cans spread about to help you. You can knock each into a separate area as well, making it even easier. Cube will escape and DJ Professor K will come on the radio¡K

Chapter 4

Garage

Save and go to 99th Street, then through to the too-long named Skyscraper District and Pharaoh Park.

Skyscraper District and Pharaoh Park

Kill all the Rokkaku Police and then save at the GS. Go past the pyramid and spray the tag at it¡|s top. Go down into the main part of the park, with all the Immortals coffins. Spray all the tags you can see and find, and use the pyramid as the connection to get back to the GS etc. Face the road, standing to the right of the GS, and jump onto the blue pole ahead. Go up the pillar and reverse onto the wire. Jump on the dish and then spray the tags near either satellite dish ahead. Spray all the stuff around here, then take the right hand blue pole from the GS, and do the other dish you left last time. Now go back and left pole grind upwards, along the wire and jump onto the ramp ahead. Jump across each ramp and wall ride the billboard. Land on the rooftop and then grind the blue pipe to reach another roof. Spray the M tag here and jump to the next rooftop for more cans. Keep going across the roofs and use the ramp to reach a small platform. Jump down to the larger one and explore for a GS. Save. Go to the rooftop on your right with the 2 red cans on it and spray the L tag. Go left from the GS and up the ramp and across the satellite dishes onto a roof with a ¡¥cross¡| of spray cans. Jump right and spray the XL tag here. Go straight back over the roof to the one on the opposite side and find an L tag. Spray it and go back the way you came. Turn left near the cross roof-top to see a billboard ¡V wall ride it and go left and jump as far as possible to the left to find another tag. Go all the way back to the first GS and save and go to 99th Street, then through to the garage. Save, then go all the way through Shibuya Terminal to Hikage Street.

Hikage Street

The graffiti in this level is very easy to deal with, mostly on the ground or accessible by searching the usual hidden places. There are some Rokkaku police, so nabble them and then watch out for Hayashi in his terror drone. Kill it by jumping onto one of its legs and spraying it while grinding it. You just need to grind its legs while spraying the Graffiti Spots to kill it. Spray all the remaining graffiti and then go back to Shibuya Terminal and through to the Garage. Save, then go to Rokkaku-dai Heights, and then to the Sewage Facility. Then go through, after saving, to Kibogaoka Hill. Crazy Japanese names. ļ

Kibogaoka Hill

Listen to the conversation, then jump on the helicopters and spray to kill them. Use the map to find the other 2. Once you beat them, go up the ladder near the 2nd two choppers and jump across the gap in between the platforms. Go up the stairs and find the GS in this main plaza area. Find Boogie (she will re-appear if you fail) by going down the stairway below and grind on the right hand rail of the left hand stairway. Jump off and land directly on the stairway to the right. Grind this then slip off at the end and grind the rail to the right. Jump off at the end onto the right hand rail of the broken stairway and grind along. At the end jump off the left to the mesh platform and talk to Boogie. She will also join the GG! Now, spray the graffiti. Go back to the GS and near the first bit of grinding for Boogie is a ramp. Jump on it while going fast to land on the high telephone wires ahead. Jump onto the spiral staircase and go up. Go up the walkway onto the red platform. Look right for more tags. Spray and then go back to the GS and go down the staircase in front of it. Spray all the tags and use the telephone wires to reach any higher up. You will see a Pharoah statue ¡V grind on one side and spray the tag in the middle. Spray all the tags here and go towards the Sewage Facility. Activate the GS here and then go up two metal staircases and jump on the wires here to reach more graffiti. DJ Professor K will tune in to tell you the Immortals have turned up in a nearby area. Go back to the Garage and then to the Skyscraper District and Pharaoh Park.

Skyscraper District and Pharaoh Park

Go to the main area and beat the very easy Taggers Tage challenge. Spray them when you are behind them. Easy. Save and then go onto the road, to Highway Zero.

Highway Zero

Beat the Immortals at Taggers Tag free YoYo. Use the billboards to keep the speed up and this saves a lot of time. When you win, you will see you are in a trap. Bagger. The ever helpful DJ comes and tells you what¡|s happened, and YoYo is apparently a two faced little so and so.

Chapter 5

Future Site of Rokkaku Expo Stadium

Talk to the Noise Tank and to Jazz to get a better picture of things ¡V you will be playing Deathball against other teams. Save and practice as well as you can, and then use the same tactics for each race. Save after each race as well. Grind the middle path until you grab the ball, then use wall rides to doge the enemies. Don¡|t bother passing the ball to Jazz, and then the Rokkaku Police show up, as do Hayami and his Drone. Use the same tactics as before, avoiding the new shockwaves the drone sends out by jumping. The last spot is in fact beneath the drone. Professor K breaks in and tells you that Noise Tanks are now roaming everywhere.

Chapter 6

Go to Shibuya Terminal and run through the Noise Tanks to kill them. Now go to Dogenzaga Hill and defeat all the NTs here as well ¡V make sure you are exploring all the same areas as with your previous excursions in these zones. Look at the map from all angles you can to find them. Go to 99th Street and kill all the NTs here. Then, when the DJ tells you, go to Skyscraper District and Pharaoh Park

Skyscraper District and Pharaoh Park

Go the GS and then grind down the pyramid and then around and up it. Jump onto the platform ahead and grind the left hand blue pole. Jump onto the ramp ahead and jump long each ramp until you reach a billboard. Wallride it and go right, jump off and land on the rooftop ahead. Grind up the blue pole, talk to the PJ member and jump on the rail tracks to go to Sky Dinosaurian Square.

Sky Dinosaurian Square

Save and go on ahead to find YoYo and two NTs. When YoYo is revealed as a NT, you have to beat all three in Taggers Tag. They always grind the red rails, and so boost dash to get close on these rails and spray them without hitting them.

DJ Professor K will come on the radio when you beat them to tell you Rokkaku Police in fact made the Noise Tanks. Hayashi is now out the Rokkaku Police force. But now you have to face the Golden Rhinos.

Chapter 7

Garage

First of all, exploring each previous area now will reap you rewards, playing games with different gangs and against possible GG members ¡V explore all the areas for gangs and individuals. Also, the Golden Rhino graffiti is not essential to spray over, so you can if you want. If you have over 40 graffiti souls, talk to a guy called Clutch in the garage. He will steal the souls, so chase after him ¡V he loops about in Kibogaoka Hill, Skyscraper District and Pharaoh Park and Chuo Street. Chuo Street is where it¡|s easiest to catch him.

Chuo Street

Talk to clutch near the lizard statue to recover the Souls and make him join the GGs. The real YoYo, you¡|ll learn, is imprisoned in the Fortified Residential Zone. Go to Rokkaku-dei Heights.

Rokkaku-dai Heights

Save and go to the Tokyo Underground Sewage Facility.

Tokyo Underground Sewage Facility

Talk to Cube at the Bottom Point to have a City Rush game ¡V she will join the GGs. Save and through the new exit to the Fortified Residential Zone.

Fortified Residential Zone

You¡|ll learn the place is about to be blown to bits, so be quick! You need to spray all the red switches, not a ¡¥blue device¡| to disarm the bomb. Spray all 4 on the floor around you then grind up the stairs near a large sign, which is dark red. Jump on to the ladder and backflip at the top to land on another platform. Jump onto the next ladder and backflip again and spray the switch at the top. Do this for all the other switches above the staircases with dark red signs above them to get the rest of the switches.

A Golden Rhino message will play and set off another few bombs. Go up the stairway to the left of the fence and go up here, grind up the spiral staircase and spray the switch up here. Go left and jump onto the next spiral staircase and spray the next switch. Defeat the Golden Rhinos by ramming into them and spraying them, then go up the stairway with another dark red sign. Spray the switch and then go back to where the GRs were. Go up the other stairway, spray the switch ahead and turn left. Jump forwards and left, over a load of buildings. Spray the switch here and then go back to the GR room again. Take the other stairway up again (the non spiralling one) and grind down it again. Jump onto the next spiral staircase and at the top, spray the switch again. Go up the stairway and get off at the top and grind the next stairway. Halfway down, jump onto the next spiral staircase and when in the flat section of staircase, jump onto the platform ahead. Go along and spray the final switch.

Go back to the GR room, then to the GS and save. Grind the Spiral Staircase and go down the walkway and grind it. Grind the next spiral staircase and at the top, go around the orange fence to your left. Grind the next staircase ahead and run to the edge of the platform and jump as far as possible onto the next walkway. You will fall down to a platform with loads of spray cans. Jump ahead to the next platform and go along the net walkway. Jump over to the next platform and go along until you see another stairway. Grind it and run at the fake walkway, and turn and jump over the gap and spray the graffiti stop up here. Grind up the next staircase and land in a hole. Fall into it and talk to YoYo in the cage. The GRs will attack with helicopters, so jump on them using the ramp and spray them. DJ Professor K will inform you about a new gang called Zero Beat.

Chapter 8

Garage

Save and go to Chuo Street

Chuo Street

Stock up on spray cans and go to the lizard statue and ram into the GR here and spray him when he¡|s down. Make sure you keep your health up. Grind up his long arms when he is above you, knocking him off a roof, if he¡|s standing on one. Zero Beat will appear, and leave. Go through Shibuya Terminal, 99th Street and to the Skyscraper District and
Pharaoh Park to Highway Zero.

Highway Zero

Race Soda to make him join the gang, and then go along the highway to find GRs all over the place. An odd GR will attack you with a flamethrower and ram into her and spray her, like all enemies. Grind rails to put out the flames much faster than normally, and once she is finished, DJ Professor K will be kidnapped! Go to Skyscraper District and
Pharaoh Park.

Skyscraper District and Pharaoh Park

Once Chuo Street and Highway Zero are clear, Zero Beat will appear here. Save the game and grind down the pyramid around and up. Jump onto the platform and grind the left pole, grind the wire above and jump to the ramp ahead. Jump ramp to ramp, like before, and into the wallrides. Where you met PJ ages before, Zero Beat will be there. Talk to him and follow him to Site of Tokyo Line.

Site of Tokyo Line

Spray all 4 tags on the train machine to finish it. Boost dash to get close and then spray when its¡| health bar pops up. If a yellow light comes on, jump onto a different track to avoid energy that harms you. If a train opens up, dodge as a spider will fly out. When all tags are sprayed, the train will stop. DJ Big Gouji will appear and talk of a giant tower. Explore the area before you leave, as you can never come back

Garage

Save and go to Shibuya Terminal

Shibuya Terminal

Beat Zero Beat at taggers tag, then go to the giant tower..

Chapter 9

Gouji¡|s Tower

Ignore the enemies and try to get up quickly. Grind up onto the telephone wires and basically grind and wallride upwards as much as possible. There are 3 ways up, so it¡|s not hard to find and follow one of the, although it does take a time. Gouji is at the top of the tower, all armoured up. A.KU.MU is his robot form. Boost dash into him when he fires fireballs and then spray him as much as possible, and repeat. You can spray him when he is standing up, but knocking him down is more costly but perhaps easier.

Once he is finished, the story is over. However, there are many challenges, from the Street Run things to all the Souls and Mystery Tapes. Good luck!
