How to make a Great Team on NHL Hitz 2002.

I found a great way to make my own team unbeatble and make the Franchise mode a walkthrough. Hense this walkthrough....

First create a team, name it as you wish. I find a comical name is the best way to go, it doesnt make them better, in fact it doesnt do anything but it does make playing with them more fun.

Sencondly (this is were the magic starts) create your players but take every point off the players untill they reach 1 APART from the goalie and the first 3 players. Now you will see that you have alot more points to create a good team!

Third - Make the goalie have better recovery and better reaction time (this will make him quick) and make every other an average number, but dont make them too high. And now for the goalies build. Now, you my think "The build is only to make the players look more realistic" WRONG - Make the goalie big! But not too heavy. Keep him bigger than the average person, having wide feet and big thighs, but keep the chest and arms just a bit bigger than the preset amount.
This will make your goalie fit the goal alot better but keep his speed up! Very important!

Forth - Making the team. Now as you got rid of all the points on the other players apart from the first 3 you may be thinking "MY team SUCKS" WRONG - You have your self a load of points extra to make the 3 people that you play with 'Extreme' as you might say...
The reason for this is that in Franchise mode (where you earn more points) the first 10 or so games the computer does not fight very well, meaning you wont have any players sent off (meaning you will never use the other players apart from the first 3)

Now, back to the players... What i found was good is making 1 of the players very small, and i mean small, the smallest there is. BUT make him have Better speed and better aggresion. As he is small his speed is increased dramatically and the aggression compensates for his smallness. You need to make the other stats average numbers, not too high, like the goalie. (This is giving your players certain characteristics, i shall explain later on)

Fifth - The next player. This time make the player normal size apart from his height, make him taller than average, but not too tall. This is going to be your nutral player. You need to set his stats to all average apart from shooting and balance, which should be a bit better, like done before.

Sixth - The final player. This is my personal favourite, The BIG guy... What you need to do, is pretty obvious, make him BIG. But be careful, dont make his head the biggest size you can, or it is out of proportion and he has a huge head. You need to make this players stats have Checking as alot better than the rest, and again leave the rest average.

Right, now you're done making the team. The reason i talked about giving them differant characteristics is that in the game you can arrange the players to make the forces of offence and defence move into the extremes.

What i tend to do is... I set the BIG guy as the defencive player, because of his size, weight and his good checking he will stop any player that gets through the attack from making it any further. And that's why you havent focused on the goaly as much as the players.

I set the small and fast guy as the winger, he is able to quickly receive the puck and take it and shoot if the centre player is checked. The added aggression makes him good as an offencive defender, if that makes sense, he is able to quickly ram into players without remorse.

I set the average/normal player as the centre player, his shooting and balance abilities make him a hard target to knock down and able to take the puck and score.

And then thats about it. Play on the franchise mode after practicing your skills and playing quick games, winning a game on franchise will give you 6 points, (plus trivia questions that give you extra points) what i tend to is spend the 6 points i get for winning and give them to 1 player in particular (eg. add 1 point to every stat) then i save my trivia points for later. And wait to see what section you excel in and then improve your week spot.

Get winning!
