Thanks to Lucasarts letting Raven help develop this game, all enemies now have accurate damage models. This means that most baddies can be annihilated with a single head shot, but body hits require three or four shots to finish off, give or take a little depending on where precisely. With this in mind, you can save an awful lot of ammo if you aim your shots carefully, and this will also cost you less health as well.
Your partner Jan Ors will frequently get in your way during shootouts. Although she does get very tiresome, make sure you don't shoot her, whether accidentally or on purpose, because if she dies then you fail the mission.
When facing multiple enemies, aim to kill the officers first as they are not only better shots than stormtroopers, but they also organize the fighting. In effect, this means without any officers to direct them, stormtroopers will sometimes retreat in fear.
If you can't reach a switch, then sometimes blowing it up from a distance with a Thermal Detonator or Detonation pack will do the trick. Alternatively, Force Push can do the same job if you are within range.
Never forget that your jumping capabilities are enormous once you have obtained level three of Force Jump. This will allow you to reach high ledges that would have been previously unavailable. This can help you find power-ups hidden in obscure locations, and also find the occasional secret areas. Keep in mind though that the higher you jump, the more force power you use up.
If one or more enemies are near an edge, use Force Push to shove them to their doom. Saves on ammo too.
When you are literally surrounded by enemies, use Force speed to slow time down (the amount of slowdown depends on the force level) and make things a lot more manageable.
If you know there are a lot of enemies round a corner, simply use the secondary fire on your Wookie Bowcaster to rebound shots off the wall and into them without exposing yourself.
Your force powers are typically assigned to the F-keys at the top of the keyboard. Unfortunately, it is hard to reach them there in the heat of battle, let alone the correct one. So try assigning them to your Numpad, that way they are far more readily accessible.
Lightsaber top-down hack:
Press forward + primary attack to slice the air in front of you in a quick attack, or press backward + primary attack to slice behind you.
Lightsaber swipe:
Press primary attack while strafing in either direction to initiate a horizontal swipe that encompasses a wide area. This attack is fairly slow though.
Lightsaber diagonal slash:
Press primary attack while running forwards and strafing in either direction to perform a diagonal slash down in the direction you are strafing. Do exactly the same thing while running backwards to do a similar slash upwards.
Lightsaber leaping attack:
Run forward and press primary attack, then instantly press jump. This will slice below you while leaping through the air.
To steer your lightsaber when you have thrown it with secondary fire, simply move your mouse in the desired direction, and it will respond accordingly. This works vertically as well as horizontally.
There are three types of combat styles for your lightsaber, Fast, Medium and Strong.
Fast:
This makes all your lightsaber movements quick and light. The sacrifice for speed is that it doesn't do too much damage to your opponent.
Medium:
Does what it says on the box, a mix between speed and damage.
Strong:
These attacks are extremely dangerous, and can be lethal to lesser enemies. But they really are VERY slow indeed. A simple forward slice will cost you three seconds, and that can be very hazardous if you miss because your enemy has a perfect chance to counter-attack.
To get past dangerous trip mines, simply shoot them from a distance to explode them.
The E-11 Blaster Rifle is the staple of the imperial army and one of the first weapons you receive, so you need to know how to handle it. The rules for this are very simple, secondary fire for close combat, and primary fire for distant shooting. This is because secondary fire is extremely inaccurate, rather akin to the minigun in Unreal Tournament, and so only suitable for firing point blank. Especially so because ammo runs out very quickly, and you don't want to waste it. So although primary fire shoots at a much slower rate, it is far more accurate, and so suitable for long-distance head shots.
When playing multiplayer, make full use of portable Assault Sentries. Place one in a defensive position naturally, but also try putting one deep into enemy territory. This can be a real nuisance to respawning enemies.
Hope that helps!! Hobbo out.
-------------------------------Jedi Outcast------------------------------
Hi I’m rhino508 and this is my guide to the first level of star wars Jedi knight 2.
You are Kyle Katarn, a conflicted mercenary of the new republic. With a new evil growing up on the galaxy you are forced to use the force powers you swore never to use again. To fight this new evil you must sneak hide… and destroy anyone who gets in your way.
Section 1 getting started
If you’re new to the game you may want to read this, if your not new, you should skip this section.
Jedi outcast is another FPS. And like most games, everyone usually has their own unique controls, so before starting to play you may want to configure your controls.
If possible, try having them close together or you will end up reaching all the way across the keyboard.
After configuring them you should read through them to check that they are all correct, and so you can remember them.
The main buttons for this game are fire, forward, backwards, left, right and use. (Some may disagree). It is quite important to have all your movement keys in reach of one hand.
Section 2 Kejim Outpost
You start just behind an imperial shuttle next to Jan, your partner (don’t kill her or you’ll fail the mission). You have a blaster and a shock baton.
Sneak round the side of the ship and shoot both the men ( try to get them in the head to kill them quicker). Pick up their E11 blasters and continue till you hear a man say “is someone there?” wait till he turns the corner (charge your gun while waiting) then shoot him. After turning a corner you will see some crates and five or six troopers, kill them all (there is also a trooper on the balcony). After that Jan will say something about trying to get inside. Go round a corner (if you went straight forward before killing the men you will reach it) where 3 more men come round, kill these and continue. Enter the building and turn right where you can recharge your shield (go up to the green box and while having the cross hair on it press use) then go through the next door. As soon as the door opens a man will try to shoot you, kill him and take his key. Turn right and use the lift to reach the second floor. As you step off the lift turn right and use a second lift to get into a small room. In this room you must press a switch. A small cut scene will start with a voice saying “Perimeter defences online” Go back down the lift and kill the other trooper on the balcony then go down the lift and go to Jan. Use the turret to blow the huge door up and go through in.
This is a checkpoint.
You slowly start to go down the lift.
From here there are two different ways to go.
1.Press the switch on the wall and go through the door here is a trooper on patrol, which should automatically be facing away from you, take your time in shooting him in the head. Turn through a door on your right and kill the troopers in here. Near the middle of the room there is an explosive container on a grate. Blow this up and go through the hole. Here you should drop down into a small room , leave it and go into the corridor.
2.Step off the lift and wait for it to go back up then jump down off the platform. Here is a door. Take it into a corridor. (The same as on route 1 but if you take route 2 you still must kill the troopers).
In the corridor there are two ways one to a generator, the other to a room. Stand back from the generator and shoot it to blow it up then run into the room. Once the fireball has disappeared go back and go around the generator onto a small lift. Take it. Now you are in another small room , smash the grate and drop down into another room.
Kill the guard inside and take his key, press all the switches here and leave.
Turn right and go down the corridor then turn left through a door pick up the thermal detonators. Exit this room. In this new room there is about six troopers, kill them and take the lift down. In this room you should use your thermal imaging goggles. If you don’t have any batteries go back and look for some. Go past all the crates and into the small room. Crouch and go through the hole in the wall where you must kill all the guards. In this room make sure to get the code and press the coloured switches. Press the switch at the force field and go up the stairs. Go straight along this corridor killing the guards on your way until you reach a giant room with a pit in it. Go into the middle and turn left. Go into the room and destroy the ceiling turret, continue through the door. If you kill the troopers and the one man in grey you can continue. Go down the stairs into another room. Kill the troopers and go to the control terminal.
From here you must go back to help Jan. Go back to the area with the lift going into the dark room. Here you will see two troopers killing Jan. kill them both then escort Jan back to the control panels.
Go up the stairs then go right then through the door Jan unlocked. Kill the people inside and get the code. Return to the room with the ceiling turrets. Leave this room and go on a walkway. Head into the red zone. Again destroy the ceiling turrets. Go through the door then up the stairs. Use the lift to get even higher, and then press the switch. Go round the edge of the room and press the switch. Return to the stairs. Turn left and go through the doors where there are some people to kill. Go through the corridor and turn right. Kill the 2 men here.
Now you must run all the way down the walkway, if not done quick enough it will blow up and you will die.
Turn right through a door then down the stairs where you should have some probots to kill. Take the lift up then go through the door. Pick up the thermal detonators. Go through the walkway. Turn left through a door where there are some Men to kill. Make sure to pick up their keys. Go through the next door and get the code.
Return to the big room in the middle of the four zones, here you can input the codes to open the new area. Walk into the new area.

Section 3 Multiplayer
In Jedi outcast, single player is not the only mode there is a multiplayer mode as well. I am going to explain the multiplayer game modes and their rules.
Free for all:
Often referred to as FFA. One of the most popular modes in Jedi outcast. Players fight for themselves on a certain level using all the different weaponry and force powers. A set frag limit is set before the game and it is a race to kill as many people as needed.
Holocron FFA:
Similar to FFA in a lot of ways but, instead of using the force powers straight away, you must collect them from blue or green cubes. The green cubes are lightsaber techniques and the blue are powers like jump or push.
Team FFA:
Also similar to FFA but instead of fighting individually you fight in a team with allies to get the frag limit.
Jedi Master:
There is a lightsaber in the middle of the map in which everyone must try and get .At any point you can kill people but it will not go to your score. The person who gets the lightsaber is called the Jedi master and has their force powers upgraded to 3 points. But the Jedi master cannot change weapon but is the only one who can score.
Duel:
2 players are put on a tiny map and can only fight using force powers or lightsaber, nothing else. The person who kills the other person wins the duel.
Capture the flag:
Often referred to as CTF. Two teams must try and get the other teams flag and return it to their flag. Each time that is done that team gets one point. Both teams must try and get the designated score.
Capture the ysalamiri
Similar to CTF. But each time the person gets it then they cannot use force powers and people cannot use force powers on them.
