DIE HARD NAKATOMI PLAZA by The Gamer



1.NAKATOMIPLAZA

0 Medikits

1. Find your wife Holly
2. Get your sidearm

Start off by walking up to the reception and talk to the
receptionist, touch the keypad repeatedly to find that Mclane's
wife is on the 30th floor, then walk forward to the lifts and
take the first on your left that you will be facing, the call up
button is to the left of the door, take the lift up, then a few
cutscenes play, the action starts when you hear gunshots while in
the bathroom, you must pick up your pistol, it's to the left of
you, then quickly walk out of the bathroom, out of the room, and
quickly run across the hall to the door marked EXIT , just
opposite, under no circumstances fire or hang about, or the exit
will be locked and you will have to restart. (if you do try to
kill the terrorists here out just out of curiosity for a bit of
fun, you will find that one of them simply cannot be killed, this
isn't a bug, it's just that he plays a part later in the game, so
he isn't meant to be killed, therefore the game won't allow it
right now).

2. FALSE ALARM / 32nd Floor
2 Medikits
1. Notify the authorities of trouble

2. Find and kill Tony

Walk forward and then you will come to a room with a fire alarm
at the end of it, you must ring it, this will cause two guys to
come running, wait round the side of the door and shoot them in
the head with your pistol, always aim for the heads when using
the pistol as it doesn't tend to damage them enough otherwise.
Once you have capped them you can pick up their sub machine guns,
you can breathe a sigh of relief that you finally have some
decent firepower, now work your way through the rooms, killing
the enemies as you see them, you will come to a health kit and an
axe on the wall, just past the left of it is a room with one guy,
then another with more enemies, once you have cleared the area of
them, there is a doorway barred by planks nailed across it, go
back and get the axe and hack it free, ( to get the axe shoot the
glass and then press your 'use' key that you use to pick up
items/open doors with in the game, to get rid of an axe or fire
extinguisher in the game, just switch back to a weapon and you
will drop the item on the floor, incidentally, walking over it
again will make Mclane pick it up if you have auto pick up set in
the game options ) then, progress through the area and then a
cut scene plays, kill further enemies then follow Tony; the guy
from the cutscene, into a large room, do not enter here but stay
at the doorway, the key to success in this game is standing clear
of fire and then using the lean keys to lean in while you shoot
enemies, you do exactly this to kill Tony, he stands exposing
himself most of the time, so you can kill him off after a few
good hits, then take care of the other enemies in there, there is
also a health kit in there, walk over to Tony's body and pick up
the Zippo lighter, ( you have no idea how handy this will be in
the game) and also his radio, then press the 'use' key on Tony's
body, Mclane will make a comment on Tony's shoes, then a cutscene
plays and the level is done.

3. THE BOMBER / 39th Floor
2 Medikits
1. Kill the bomber

2. Find the wire cutters
3. Defuse the bombs before time runs out
4. Find a way to the roof to call for help

This level is very simple, just make your way through the area
shooting whoever is in your way, but be careful not to ever shoot
a bomb for obvious reasons, there will be one guy in a little
room with a yellow sign saying 'Danger electrical hazard' and the
bomb will be in the line of fire if you stand at the front of the
door, so open it and wait for him to run out or shoot from the
side into the room. You will need to make Mclane run as time is
short, particuarly on the harder difficulty levels, careful not
to use up all his stamina in one go, give short bursts of runs,
once you have worked you way through to the final room where
there are 3 guys, the guy at the far end of the room will have
dropped some wire cutters, walk over them to pick them up, then
look in your inventory, they will be kept with the pistol, so if
you press page down it will choose your seconday weapons scroll
through by pressing 'page down' again until they are red, then
press the fire button on your mouse, if you have configured your
keyboard from the default controls you may have to press number
'2' on your keyboard to make the icon show up, to choose the
wire cutters simply press 2 again until they show up red then
press your fire button on your mouse.
Run back cutting all 7 bombs wires, the last one is where the
level started, then walk back again to the room where you picked
up the wire cutters, this time there will be 2 guys stood on the
stairs, there, kill them then use the medical kit on the wall
there if you need any, then walk up the steps to the roof, the
level will end.

4. ON THE ROOF / 39th
1. Call for help

2 Medikits
2. Find a way through the gate
3. Escape back into inner roof

Mclane calls for help on the radio, after his conversation, turn
around as 2 guys will come at you from the stairs, once they are
dead you need to go down the ladder over the side over the roof,
just next to you, you need to turn the power off so you can get
through two gates, you do this by shooting the padlocks on the
panels, then quickly get your wire cutters and snip the RED wire
only, if you snip blue you will get a nasty electric shock, there
is another panel further along, and all the time you will be
under attack from enemies so watch your back, once you have done
those two there are two more further down, same thing applies,
once they are done you can run through the gates that are now
unlocked, run into the doorway there that leads back into the
inner roof.

5 DOWN THE SHAFT / 39
1. Find a way out of the inner roof

Note the medical kit on the wall, if you don't need any now you
can always come back for some, now make sure that your wire
cutters are your first choice in your secondary weapon icon, but
have your machine gun chosen, you will need to shoot another lock
then snip another red wire in this next room, but with a
difference, there is a huge fan in the room that will do its
best to suck you into it, so as you walk in the room stay to the
wall on the side of the electric panel and shoot the lock off, it
can be tricky but it's fun, once done, get your wire cutters and
snip the wire, again its tricky, but stay pressed against the
wall, if you stand away from the wall in the middle of the room
the suction will get you and you will be a goner, use your 'run'
key if you get into trouble and it might just save you, once you
have snipped the red wire, switch back to your machine gun and
walk back to the medical kit, an enemy will come at you, then
walk back to the fan and kill the two guys down below, go down
the ladder and move your way through the level killing enemies as
you go, once you have killed the guy who throws a flashbang,
there is a door with a guy behind it, the trouble is he is nex to
one of the bombs, so careful not to shoot it as you are firing at
him, once he is dead, turn right and kill another guy through the
door there, you now need to get yourself positioned right in the
middle and jump onto the girder, walk along it then crouch as you
walk to get into the little entrance, the level will now end.

6. WELCOME TO THE PARTY / 38
1. Be careful until danger passes

2. Find a way to signal for help

Turn your zippo lighter on, press 'Z' , move your way through the
shafts, crouching to get down into lower areas, until you
eventually come to a grill in the floor where you will be able to
hear and maybe even see some of the enemies, walk back again a
bit as they will fire shots up, this be harmless if you are well
back, but if you are spotted you will not get away in time and
you will be killed, so wait until they are well and truly gone,
you will hear some doors click, then it will be safe to drop
down, press the 'use' key to make the grill fall down so you can
jump down, once down, note there is a room that says on a yellow
sign " no storage allowed' there is a medical kit in a room in
there on the left , but it also has a guy in there, if you are ok
for health it is best to leave it and come back later as there
are some more enemies ahead, to get to these go through the door
with the stairs marking, and work your way through the area, once
you have killed the two guys that were in the cutscene you have
to click on the last guys body with the use key, and this will
make Mclane pick him up and throw him through the window to get
the cops attention, after this you will talk on the radio a while
then take care of 3 guys who come into the room, once they are
dead walk to the door marked EXIT to end the level.

7. HIGH MAINTENANCE / B
1. Find a way to the parkade

Start by going through the double doors and down the coridoor
through all the double doors until you come to where there are
two enemies, kill them then take the door on the left, make your
way along until you eventually come to a door with a red strip by
the side of it, this is a secure door, go into the doorway on its
right, there will be 2 enemies in it, once dealt with, look on
the desk where the controls are and pick up a yellow piece of
paper, this has the code to enter the utility room you may have
seen along the way, it had a strip of numbers down the side, you
need to go there now, the door will open now you know the code,
you don't need to press the numbers, kill the two guys in there,
then look for a sign that says 'Flip switch to reset breaker' so
flip the switch, 2 guys will then come in with a flash bang, take
them out then head back and note that there is a row of red
sliders on the wall on your right near the Utility room doorway,
you need to slide the top one, that says 'security' then go back
to the room where you found the code on the yellow paper, press
the red buttons on the control panel there that say 'Reboot
system' and 'Parkade doors', now leave the room and go through
the door just outside that was previously locked, or you can jump
up onto the control panel and get up into the vent there and
travel that way, that will take you behind the 3 guys you saw on
the tv screen that took their positions, waiting for you, if you
take the vent it is indeed the easier way, if you take the 2nd
exit in the vent, the first grill you see will land you down
there but you will still need to shoot all three, but if you
carry on along the vent and drop down further into it, you will
be able to come out of a vent on the floor, and although two of
the guys may run out at you, all you have to do is just run smack
up to the door with the yellow sign right next to the vent and
the level ends, you don't even need to fight them.



8. ARGYLE'S RUN / B
1MK
1. Save Argyle from the terrorists
2. Escort Argyle to the loading dock entrance

Note the medikit on the wall there, take what you need, but it
might be best to leave it, you will have the opportunity to come
back once all the enemies on this level are killed, just follow
Argyle's limo and shoot the enemies who will be there shooting at
him, they aren't hard to kill as they are mostly facing the car
and don't even see you, once the car comes to the end of the
parking garage there will be a panel with 3 buttons, (now you can
go back to the medikit if you want) press the button with the
use key and the doors will open, now follow the car through and
the level ends.

9. PLAYIN' THE HERO / B

1. Clearout the loading area for Argyle
2. Kill Fritz
3. Find a way back into the building

As soon as Argyle has finished talking, run rapidly up the area
as 3 guys are about to appear, so you need to get a good start on
them, once the clip has finished continue running, use the 3
boxes there to give you cover by running behind them as you make
your way to hide behind the metal containers there at the end,
then lean out and pick them off, once two are dead, ( the other
one dissapears) walk back up the area a bit as there is a medikit
on the floor on the opposite side to the green truck, once you
have topped up your health if need be, go through the doors the
guys came through, and come to an area where there will be a guy
in a fork lift truck and two guys perched up on your right, what
you have to do here is run up to the fork lift, ignoring the 2
guys above for now, so keep right so they cant shoot you, then
when the fork lift comes at you, shoot at the driver while
running backwards, he will crash the fork lift if you do this, if
you don't do this then he will ram you and kill you, once he has
crashed then shoot the two guys above, then make your way to the
area where there are more enemies, you can hide on the right near
the medikit there, and pick them off by leaning out and shooting,
make your way further, killing more enemies, then you will come
out into the corridoors again take a left, go through the double
doors until you come to the cafeteria, shoot the two guys in
there, then exit where it says 'staff only' kill two guys in
there, there is a medikit there too, then go along and notice a
door open, there is a guy in there, you can shoot him, but it's
more fun to lock him in, then go around and lock the other door
and turn the switch which refrigerates the room, leaving him to
perish, exit that room and to the left is another terrorist, then
you will come to a bathroom, there is a medikit there, but you
have to be quick, there is a grate near the floor, you need to
open it quick, then get inside, turn your zippo on and go, as the
terrorists outside have started a fire and are trying to smoke
you out, drop down from the vent, then go through another grill
on the right, make your way along until you see a grill and just
walk up to it to open it and the level ends.

10. ONE OF THE TERRORISTS / SB
1
1. Locate the code for the security door
2. Detect and avoid firefights

Walk along and take cover and despatch the three terrorist there,
then go into the room where they were outside of, and there will
be 3 lockers on a wall, open the left locker and you will be able
to pick up a yellow piece of paper with the code for the security
door on it, then exit the room and turn right and keep going
right, this is the security door, then through there, there will
be two enemies, be sure to pick up their guns, one of them is a
sniper rifle that doubles as a machine gun, and is essential for
some parts of the game, don't use the ammo up on this as in the
final level you need this gun to kill Hans, so never let the ammo
drop below about 30 rounds for this gun, note there is a health
kit at the end of here, then on the right go through the door,
then take a right, there is a room with 2 terrorists taking
cover, you can crouch and move your way along and kill them, or
you can go up that ladder near the door and drop down behind
them, another guy will come through the door while you are
fighting them so look out, exit here and then take a left onto
the large open area, at the very corner there will be bullets
ripping through the panels from the fire fights going on between
SWAT and terrorists, SWAT are all over the place on this level so
be careful not to shoot them, they are dressed in dark full body
gear and helmets, once you have killed two guys who will come at
you on the corner, exit the area ahead, then take a right, walk
all along until you see a SWAT guy shooting at terrorists, don't
worry he doesn't see you, you have to wait until he gets killed,
then peek around at who he was fighting and kill them off, if you
use your sniper lens you will see in the distance that SWAT
eventually secure the area, this will cause terrorist to come up
through a grate on the floor, further back from where you just
came from, so head back and kill them, then go down through the
grate to finish the level.

11. NOT MY DAY / SB
2 half full
1. Find a way back to the sub basement
2. Transfer water to the resovoir room
3. Open the underwater gates

Start by going down the first ladder, then the second ladder,
then go through the door and you will hear gunshots, this is
SWAT, but they WILL shoot at you, at the end where left and right
meet is water, later you will drop down there and swim, but for
now you need to take a right turn on foot, SWAT will shoot at you
but they aren't too accurate if you run fast and weave a bit,
once you are round the corner and free from SWAT gunfire, go to
the end of there and see there is a guy in a somewhat dimly lit
area, you can shoot at him, but be warned that as you start to do
that another guy will come from round the corner just opposite to
you, take them both out then run up to the area upwards, at the
very end notice that there is a red wheel, it's under a sign
saying 'Pressure release valve' be careful as SWAT will be firing
at you from your right as you run up the steps to get to it, turn
it, then a guy will come through the door, kill him, go through
the door, shoot a padlock on a gate, open a high voltage panel
and get your wire clippers out, notice that a note says it has
been wired in reverse, so this time snip the blue wire, then exit
and go through the gate on the other side of the room which is
now unlocked and run round and turn the red wheel there, now SWAT
will be after you so you need to run , and take the door on your
left, a guy will come out as you approach it, go through there
after killing him, then switch your lighter on, as it gets dark,
then run to the end and back to where you started the level.
Go down the ladder, you will hear a gunfight going on outside,
you can wait a while and let SWAT do the damage to the
terrorists, then open the door, there may still be some
terrorists there, finish them if there are, now it's time to go
swimming, at the end of of walkway there is an opening you can
dive down into, dive down and swim to the left, then when you
have take the left route, swim using your run key, this will make
you swim faster, if you take too long you will struggle for air,
when you come to the end you will see a gate blocks the way, not
to worry as there is a hole above, so just look up and go up, as
you come up for air there will be a gunman on your right shooting
at you close up, you need to be ready to start firing at him the
moment you surface, there will also be two other guys busy
shooting at SWAT you can finish them also if they are still alive
for more than a few moments more, now you need to quickly run
across to the far side as SWAT will still be shooting, there is a
medikit there, but be quick as you could be shot as you go to it,
look on the wall where it says 'manual underwater gate release'
and pull the lever there, then head back exactly the way you
came, and surface to the original place you dived in, take a
breather, then dive down again, and this time swim to what would
be right as you came in from the ladders, which basically is
straight ahead still from where you have been coming, as you swim
there will be a gate, go through it and then surface for air,
there will be 2 terrorists shooting at you so be ready, there is
a set of steps on the right far corner, you can climb up them,
then kill the terrorists, or try to shoot them from in the water,
once they are killed jump over to where they are, crouch and go
through the hole in the gate there, work your way through the
tunnels, go up the ladder, then go where there's a low gap that
you will have to crouch to get through, then out into a lit area
again, take out the guy there, then go over to the door, take out
the terrorists in that room and walk the route to the end of the
level, you will see a medikit on the wall, then just climb the
ladder to the grill to end the level.

12. AFTERMATH / SB
1 & 1 half full MKits
1. Fight your way back to the building

You can either go up the steps here or you can go round on foot,
either way there will be a guy on the ground and one on the
platform so you take your pick, but notice there is an ammo cache
on the ground there with a sniper rifle, flashbangs and more
ammo, so take that stuff and then go up the stairs, on the left
there will be a guy, kill him then walk over to where he is,
there is a ladder down to the ground, go down it and make your
way along, notice the double doors on the left, you will go
through them in a moment, but for now keep walking as there will
be two dead SWAT guys on the ground further up with valuable
sniper rifle ammo in their guns, there is also a terrorist there
so watch out for him, then go back to the double doors and go
through them, you will be greeted by a terrorist, kill him then
notice there is a medikit on the wall on the left, go down and
there will be more terrorists, kill them, then walk upwards and
out of the door with the yellow stairs sign on it, keep going and
kill the terrorist who opens the door on you along the way, you
are now back into the lit corridoors, go through the double doors
and through the corridoors, notice the dead SWAT guy with more
valuable ammo for your sniper rifle, move along and then when you
see a brown wooden door go through it to end the level.


13. CLEARING THE BIRDS NEST / 4
1. Find and disarm the M60 wielding gunman

Work your way along the corridoors despatching all terrorists,
leaning round corners as per usual to pick them off, once you get
to the end of the long trail of corridoors, go through a single
door on the right, there will be some terrorists in a room there,
the room is full of files and books, go to the far end of the
room to see the exit as it is tucked away somewhat to the left,
then when you exit you will see that standing at the end of a
long corridoor are some terrorist with their backs to you, time
to get out the sniper rifle and pick them off, do this and then
see the Utility room on the left of where you are standing, go in
here for a medikit, you will need lots of health for the stages
ahead, you can always come back to it if you don't use all it
offers, as it's likely you will need some more healing help soon,
progress further take the door on the left, to a room with more
terrorists, then you will find you are walking past elevators,
not the door with EXIT on it in green, you will go back here to
end the level, but for now keep moving and follow the sound of
the gunfire, it's the M60 wielding gunman shooting out of a
window, and he seems to be enjoying it, position yourself at the
doorway so you have good cover, then lean round and shoot at the
terrorists, the M60 gunman will make a run for it, as he does you
should watch your back as two guys will come at you from behind
in the next few moments, take them out, then go into the room the
M60 gunman was in, kill his friend if you hadn't already then
load up with some nice supplies lying there, now it's time to
bite the bullet so to speak and take on the M60 gumnan, he hides
round the corner and shoots occasionally, but you can never
really see enough of him to take a shot, even with the sniper
rifle, so there's on ly one thing to do, you have to charge like
madman round the corner and shoot like crazy, but notice in the
left corner there is a gas cannister, shoot this to instantly
kill the gunman and he will be blown through 2 solid doors!
then head back, two more guys will appear at you, kill them, go
back to where the exit door was in the corridoors, one more
terrorist will be there to greet you along the way, once you get
to the exit door you find its open, go in the room, there is
another exit door there, go up to it, this ends the level.

14. UNEXPECTED FRIEND / 21

1. Convince the hostage you are a friend
2. Get the hostage to a temporay safe zone
3. Clear a path for the hostage
4. Get the hostage to a permanent safe zone

Get your badge out and show the hostage, he will talk to you then
he will hide while you kill a way out of here for the both of
you, first off, go round the corner on your right, there will be
two terrorists, kill them, then go into the room on your right,
there will be some step ladders there, crouch and go up them and
continue to crouch your way along until you see a gap you can
drop down from, now go to the doorway and shoot the 3 terrorists
in the corridoor there on your left, the third one is usually
very far away and you may want to use your sniper on him, once
they are dead go down the coridoor and get the axe, incidentally
there is a room on your right as you approach the axe that has a
medikit in it, now go back and chop down those planks blocking
the door way, drop the axe and go back and get the hostage, touch
him by nudging him or just walk near to him and he will follow
you, go all the way down the corridoor past where you got the axe
and to the last door on the right, this is the door the hostage
has the keys for and he will open it, a word of warning, do not
walk further past this door and look round the doorway into the
next corridoor as there are two terrorists there, one with an M60
and you have no chance whatsoever against them, and it isn't even
neccesary to confront them, so go into the room with the hostange
and shoot the window and jump into the window washer, job done.

15. THE ARCHITECT / 20

1. Locate the remaining hostage on this floor
2. Earn the architects trust
3. Escort the architect to safety
4. Climb down to safety

Shoot the window and jump through, go through the door and make
your way up the corridoor, open the last door on the right and
the architect will be there, flash him your badge and talk to
him, the exit and shoot the guy down the corridoor on the left,
don't go running to him to take his away, you are pushed for time
here as there are fires ahead, so continue up the corioor more
goons will appear, shoot them and then go into the cafeteria they
came from, there is a medikit on the wall, take all it has as you
wont be coming back, then go through the cafeteria into another
corridoor,
go to the very end of the corridoor open the door and shoot,
there will be 3 terrorists in there, now it's time to face
fire,
open the door and run through the room, jump up onto the desks
and get to the far left corner to the fire extinguisher on the
wall, meanwhile the architect will hide in the opposite corner of
the room, notice the medikit on the wall near the door on your
left now, now the way to use the fire extinguisher for maximum
effect is to give the flames a moderate squirt, then a very quick
squirt to finish the flames off, as they go down after the
initial squirt then come back up again if you don't give them a
2nd squirt, do not waste any squirts on any areas that you don't
need to, just squirt the way back from you to the architect and
of course in front of the door next to the medikit, if you do not
clear the way for him to get to that door then he will just
cower and say ' I can't i'm scared' if you use up all your fire
extinguisher and there's still fire blocking his path you are
finished and you will simply have to start again as he will not
take any risks and go near any flames, once you have got him to
the door he will open it, now you can be stocking up health while
hes doing this, but you must get through that door immediately as
he opens it, take too long and he goes through and then the door
shuts, and it doesn't get opened again and you are left in the
burning room, some gratitude eh?
Once through the door take the double doors on the left, no, you
don't have to go through any more fire you'll be pleased to hear,
make your way to the left of this room and there will be some
lifts, the architect will try and open the doors while you stand
on the corner leaning round and taking out terrorists as they
come into the room, sometimes the architect doesn't go
immediately to the lifts, and just cowers at the table, this
makes it harder for you, as he is directly open to fire from
the terrorists who will come through the door, so you must stand
near him, nudge him, try to get him to keep moving, and stay near
the doors and take out terrorists until he does run to the lifts,
you can end up taking more damage this way as you don't have
great cover, once he has gone to the lifts and you are nearby,
shooting round the corner of the wall at anyone who comes into
the room, eventually he will get the doors open, keep on shooting
terrorists though, the architect will get on top of the lift but
it will fall down, sending him to his death, now you must run to
the lift shaft, be warned, there will be a terrorist clinging on
in there, you must kill him, by which time there will be another
to your right who has come into the room, take him out too, then
jump across the lift shaft on the left hand side where there is a
row or silver rungs, you climb down these to safety and the level
ends, phew, hot stuff!

16. IN THE VENTS / 5

1. Find a way to leave the floor
2. Kill Franko

Go towards the glass doors in the middle, and kill the terrorist,
then turn and head to the toilets just opposite, there is a
medikit in there, and there will be a terrorist in the last
cubicle, kill him, take ammo, note the gun on the sink too, then
go out and take the doors on the far left, there will be two more
terrorist there on the left, then head to the glass doored room,
take the doorway there and jump up onto the high shelf and open
the grate, get inside and turn your lighter on, someties it can
be tricky to get up by the way, it's easy to get the grate open
from a bad jump that leaves you only half way up the shelf, but
if you are having problems jumping onto the top from the
photocopier on the side, then take a jump from the front head on,
go along the vents you should be used to the procedure now, as
you go there is a left turn, when it still keeps on, take the
left turn and keep going, you will hear some terrorist as you
pass a vent, this vent doesn't open so just keep moving and do it
fast as they shoot at you when they see your light, eventually
you will come to a grill, open it and jump out into the room, for
those of you that have trouble in vents, you need to jump and
then press the crouch key quickly to get up out of vents such as
this one, or onto vents with higher levels, notice the other vent
grate there directly opposite, and 3 switches on the wall, pull
the top and bottom switches, leaving the middle as it is, this
now removes a block in the next vent you are going in, that
enables you to pass over a huge spinning fan, so now open the new
grate and go into that vent, there are little ladder rungs on
this one to climb up, make your way along and

This is part II of my Die Hard Nakatomi plaza walkthrough, the
reason it is in two parts is that it is So large that the
submission form couldn't include all of it,(SEE PART ONE FOR
MISSIONS 1 - 15 LOCATED IN THE WALKTHROUGHS SECTION HERE AT
www.gameaday.com ) so here is missions 16 - 30 to complete the
game.

16. IN THE VENTS / 5

1. Find a way to leave the floor
2. Kill Franko

Go towards the glass doors in the middle, and kill the terrorist,
then turn and head to the toilets just opposite, there is a
medikit in there, and there will be a terrorist in the last
cubicle, kill him, take ammo, note the gun on the sink too, then
go out and take the doors on the far left, there will be two more
terrorist there on the left, then head to the glass doored room,
take the doorway there and jump up onto the high shelf and open
the grate, get inside and turn your lighter on, sometimes it can
be tricky to get up by the way, it's easy to get the grate open
from a bad jump that leaves you only half way up the shelf, but
if you are having problems jumping onto the top from the
photocopier on the side, then take a jump from the front head on,
go along the vents you should be used to the procedure now, as
you go there is a left turn, when it still keeps on, take the
left turn and keep going, you will hear some terrorist as you
pass a vent, this vent doesn't open so just keep moving and do it
fast as they shoot at you when they see your light, eventually
you will come to a grill, open it and jump out into the room, for
those of you that have trouble in vents, you need to jump and
then press the crouch key quickly to get up out of vents such as
this one, or onto vents with higher levels, notice the other vent
grate there directly opposite, and 3 switches on the wall, pull
the top and bottom switches, leaving the middle as it is, this
now removes a block in the next vent you are going in, that
enables you to pass over a huge spinning fan, so now open the new
grate and go into that vent, there are little ladder rungs on
this one to climb up, make your way along and when you get to the
large spinning fan, carefully line up your cursor onto the centre
and slowly walk along the middle, then crouch to get back into a
vent on the other side, work your way along until you come to a
grate, where you see a terrorist in the bathroom, open the grate,
cap him and then drop down, exit the bathroom and exit the room
your in, there will be 2 terrorists outside to kill, then head
towards the double doors on the left, you will hear some
terrorists in a small room, open the door kill them, then go to
the back of the room and see a stepladder leading up into the
ceiling, crouch and go up, keep to the right wall and move
through here, you will be spotted by terrorists once you come to
an opening, you need to shoot from up there or drop down and
shoot them, once killed notice the medikit in the corner behind
you next to the fridge, then exit the room, move on and then
come to a door marked exit where you will finish the level.


17. SEND IN THE CAR / 33

1. Listen in on the terrorists plans
2. Watch the police attempt to break in
3. Push the C4 down the elevator shaft
4. Find the stairs and go to the 21st floor

Move forward then listen in on the terrorists, once they have
finished talking, shoot the two guys there, then move forward and
take the door on the right, two more guys will come at you, cap
them, then kill the other near the window in the room, now go to
the window and this will cause the cutscene to play where the
Police armoured car gets shot, once that's done, go over to the
elevator shaft and open the doors by pressing the button, then
push the C4 down the shaft by pressing the use key as you have it
down the back support of the chair, this will cause the chair
with the C4 to go down and blow up, so walk well away from the
lift doors and wait for the explosion, as fire comes roaring up
as a result, once that is done, go back the way you came and
finish off the guys who will be waiting for you, you may well
want to go and renew your health before you end the level, go
back to the window where you saw the police vehicle hit, and
notice there is a medikit lying on the desk there opened, it's
hard to see, it's not until you stand over it that you can see
the items are there inside it.
Now go back to the previous room and walk out of the door marked
EXIT, before you do this you will have a radio conversation, and
a cutscene of Ellis, then simply walk to the exit door and press
use and the mission is done, once I pressed escape to end the
cutscene and radio conversation, and the exit wouldn't let me
through and I couldn't finish the level because of this, bare
that in mind by perhaps pressing F6 for a quick save, in case it
should happen to you too.


18. BACKUP ARRIVES / 23

1. Convince the SWAT your on their side
2. Escort the SWAT around the level
3. Find a way off the floor

SWAT show up and you must show them your badge or they shoot you
dead, once they know who you are, follow them and let them have
a shoot out with some terrorists, do be careful if you want to
join in, as, if you hit one with friendly fire it will end the
mission for you as a game over, once they are done in the first
room, move into the next area by sliding the white panel door,
there will be more terrorists in this room, and a medikit on the
wall on the left, follow left and there will be a terrorist on
the uppper balcony, you can shoot him from down below or go up
the stairs for him, follow further along on the ground and take
out any resistance, eventually you will come to a swimming pool,
with two little walls at either end, the terrorists will be
shooting from behind it at the far end, the SWAT will stand
behind the wall and shoot back, now crouch down and move along
the wall to the left and go to an opening there, your not meant
to participate in this shoot out, SWAT will take care of it, you
have to clear out enemies in the shower and changing rooms, so go
down the steps there and take out all resistance, as you look
around you will find your way out of the mens area into the
womens, there is a medipack on a wall after the mens area, go
into the womens, there is a female symbol darkly marked on the
door, take out opposition there then find your way up some steps
back to the other end of the pool, the terrorist should just be
at end of his fight with SWAT and both will drop dead as you come
out, you can pick up some sniper ammo from SWAT and also some
guns he left at the other side of the pool, now exit at the door
at the terrorist end of the pool and work you way through until
you eventually meet a door, you should know the procedure by now,
a door with EXIT marked in green.


19. THE FBI ARRIVES / 39

1. Find a safe place to hideout
2. Take the hostage to a safe location


This is a very straightforward level, just follow the obvious
route and take out resistance, eventually you will come to an
area you will recognise, yes the room with the giant fan, and yes
the medikit is there on the wall just nearby and oddly it has
been topped up again as if by magic, this is the only time in the
game this happens to a medkit.
Work you way through the level, eventually you will come to a guy
in a suit, DO NOT shoot him, he is a hostage wandering around
and you need to take him to safety, do so by going through the
door on the left and the level will soon end.

20. BILL CLAY / 33

1. Talk to the hostage
2. Escape the attacking terrorists

Mclane talks a while to the hostage, he tells you he is called
Bill Clay, but it soon becomes clear he isn't, he is in fact Hans
Gruber, and when he shouts 'shoot the glass' to his men, he makes
a run for it, (incidentally don't shoot Hans as this ends the
game) - you have bare feet remember, so the floor is now full of
sharp glass, take out the men who are shooting at you, then you
need to run for the door on the right with the yellow stairs sign
above it, then go through a 2nd door and a third, then when you
get to a 4th, ignore it as it is locked and go left in the room,
and take the glass door in the glass partition that has an orange
thing in there, go through the door in there, and then the wooden
door immeditately on the left, then in that room note there is a
glass door on the left, if you need some health then go towards
the glass door, it is locked but if you shoot the glass in it you
can get through, go through the door directly opposite, it's a
bathroom that has a well stocked medikit, replenish your health
then go back into the room where you shot the glass to get
through, now this time take the door on your left, if you chose
not to go to the bathroom for the medikit then you would
naturally take this door in the first place, which would have
been directly in front of you as you came in, so go through it
and then take the 2nd door on the left, then through a glass
door, then finally there is another glass door, it is locked, but
just shoot out the glass in it and get through, then take the
wooden door there, then go through the door marked EXIT and your
done!

21. COULD'A USED HIS SHOES / 34

1. Find bandages to heal your feet

This level can be quite a maze, as it all looks so similar, but
take note, as the level after this will be in complete darkness,
so observe the layout, shape and location of doorways on this
level.
Go left into the room full of bookshelves and through the double
doors in there, the next room doesn't have a door, but a
walkthrough area, there will be a terrorist in there, he will
throw a flashbang so its best to run first rather than wait for
it to go off, then two more will come at you from behind, from
the door you just came through, despatch them, then move on
through the gap into the next room, go through the door there,
and then you will come to a corridoor, despatch the terrorist
there, and keep on, until you get to a double door on the right,
that will lead you back into a room you were in before, you will
see your blood trails on the floor, if you need a medikit go
through the door on the right which will be full of terrorists,
the medikit is laid out on the table there, if not, then take the
room on the left and go through the double doors at the back of
it, you will note a room saying 'Utility room' it's good to
observe this as it will help in the darkness of the next level,
follow the corridoor and walk to the green marble area on the
floor, then take the door on the right, then go in the Men's room
on the right, the level will end in here when you go to stock up
at the medikit and get those bandages for your feet, it's
darkness from here on, so I hope you've been paying attention to
this level.


22. I HATE THE DARK / 34

1. Find a way back to the stairwell

This is where the ever useful zippo comes in once again, now
first off get out your zippo and your handgun, the reason being
you will need to be able to both see and shoot at the same time
from now on, now repair yourself with the medikit, then go out of
the door and there will be gunfire waiting for you immediately as
you go out there, take the door on the left, back down the green
floored corridoor and to the first double doors, now the way to
navigate these dark rooms, is to stick to the wall as you walk,
it helps light the area better, and of course gives you a better
sense of navigation, go through the doors, now stick to the right
wall closely, walk along it until you get to a little walkthrough
gap, go through it into the next room, and stick to the wall on
the right, follow it until you come to some double doors, go
through them, then notice on your left is a dimly lit corridoor,
head down it meeting resistance, once out of the corridoor and
into another darkened room, stick to the right wall until you
come to another walktrough gap into a room, follow the right
wall, and there will be another walk through gap into another
room, follow the right wall again, until you come to more double
doors, go through them, there is a terrorist in here, follow
through the room until you see a gap to a dimly lit corridoor
where there is the EXIT door in green as usual, go up to it and
the level is done.

23. R&D LAB / 35

1. Locate and save President Ozu
2. Disable the security system
3. Find out what Ozu told Hans

Switch back to your sub machine gun, take the door on your left
and head left, go through the area that says 'Main frame lab' and
take out the terrorist there, head through the glass door, and
then move onwards, then go to your left and there is a red switch
there that says 'Nakatomi guard', slide it, then go back in the
direction you came until you come to the 'Control room' opposite
the door you came out of at the start, go through here and head
up the stairs, keep following the stairs past the control panel,
and further up, it is hard to see that the stairs actually, keep
ascending a little further, go there and press the switch to
disable the lasers that guard the doors further into the level,
then go down to the other control panel and press the sliders
where it says 'carbon dioxide' for the 4 labs, this will kill all
the guards in those labs, then go back again in the direction of
the 'Mainframe lab' and move through the level, you will come to
an area where you see a medikit in the corner of a room, go in
and get it, then come out and go through the door that had a
laser beam over it previously, you press the panel and go in, now
all you have to do with these kind of doors is stand near them
and something will come out of the vents, this will cause the
door to open by itself, go into the next room and through the
double doors opposite, then up the stairs in the next room, the
rest of the way is completely straightforward, move along until
you eventually come to an area where Ozu is in a room, shoot the
glass and jump in, talk to him, then take out the guy who comes
at you and go through that door, keep going and through the door
and you will come to where you saw Ozu through the window just a
minute ago, this time go through the doorway there opposite you,
and keep going until you eventually come to the exit door to end
the level.

24.FUMBLING IN THE DARK / B

1. Locate the access to the lower basement
2. Stop the terrorists restoring the power
3. Kill Alexander in the generator room
4. Locate teh way out of this floor

Go through 3 sets of double doors until you come to a door on the
right that says 'sub basement access' go in there and take out
the terrorists, move through the level until you come to a long
descending walkway, once you are down there terrorist s will
shoot at you, then go into the doorway that the terrorist shot
from, and work you way through you will meet 3 guys round a
corner, go through the double doors and take out resistance in
this room, at the far right there is an exit but it is locked,
you will note there is a medikit in the passage just before this
last one, what you need to do to get through these locked doors
is to shoot the bulky object on the wall next to the door, then
you can pass through it, move through the level, it is very
straightforward, until you come to two guys on a walkway, you
will notice you can take steps down to go backwards to the right
a little, where there is a red light, there is a medikit tucked
away in the corner back there, you have to keep going, as the
meshing makes it a little deceptive and it looks like you can't
pass through any further but you can, then go back up and head on
forward down the other steps, move through the level despatching
resistance, eventually you will come out to an area you have been
before, where the long walkway was, you back up it, terrorists
will come at you, kill them, then turn left, you go to a wire
gate, this was locked last time, but now is open, you can pass
through the door there, you come out to an area where you hear
two men talking, kill them, then crouch down and climb into the
lift shaft with the broken door resting on it, climb up the
ladder there, then climb up the rungs on the wall to end the
level.


25. A FISH IN THE BARREL

1. Survive the ride to the top

Straightforward, just shoot the terrorists who appear at the lift
doors as you go up, for protection, position yourself behind one
of the girders so they can't hit you so easily, then lean out and
shoot them, when you reach the top there will be two guys
directly above you with some heavy firepower, it is best to avoid
the fight with them as they are hard to hit from where you are,
and their position really gives them an advantage, you can avoid
the fight completely and end the level, simply by doing this;
when you see the very top of the shaft, look to your right, and
there will be a black mesh grill on the wall, just move over to
it, and press your use key on it, the level will end there and
then and you won't even have to fight them.


26. KARL'S REVENGE / 39
1
1. Find the generator room
2. Kill Karl
3. Make your way to the roof


This is one of the harder levels, follow the route until you come
to a ladder and an opening above, there will be a terrorist
there, so look up and shoot him, work your way through killing
terrorists as you go, until you come to a room where you see the
open elevator shaft on your right, this is your way out of here,
but first go into the room on the left to get a medikit, then go
to the lift shaft and jump across to the left onto the
ladder-like rungs on the wall, go up until you see a black grill
mesh, open it and then fire down on a terrorist who is below,
then get through the mesh, this can be a bit fiddly, you may want
to save your game here, you have to jump somewhat to get onto the
ledge then crouch to get through, once you are through move along
the level, taking out resistance until you come to a large room
where a cut scene will play and it's a face off with Karl, he has
some heavy firepower here, so you need to be careful, its best to
walk to the right of the room, then after the cut scene get your
sniper rifle with the sight on and quickly shoot him repeawtedly,
he will be coming at you but doesn't fire straight away, if your
quick you can kill him before he even fires at you, this makes it
very easy, if things don't work out this way though, it's then
best to run and hide behind something then use your sniper rifle
to pick him off from a fair distance from the safety of cover, if
he should run into the room on the left, then that makes it even
trickier, if you kill him or not, you still have to go into the
room on the left next, its best to run to the door then run away,
this will usually bring a terrorist out, you can hide round the
corner and shoot him, next you have to brave it and simply run
into the room and dodge bullets and quickly take cover to the
right behind a girder, kill the terrorists, walk onwards up to
the door and end the level.



27. EVERYONE TO THE ROOF / 39

1. Warn hostages of bomb below
2. Jump from roof to escape bomb explosions

First off notice that there is a medikit on the floor up the
steps, it's hard to see, so look out for it, stock up, then go up
onto the roof, a cutscene will play, then go down the ladder as
you did before on a previous level, and run round in the
direction you did before, taking out resistance in your way, when
you come to a dead end, there will be a fire hose on a wall
behind you, open it and press the use key on the hose then run to
the edge of the roof and jump off!, the level ends.


28. JUST LIKE SAIGON / 30

1. Swing into the building
2. Get to the 31st floor to save Holly

Swing into the building by rocking forward, but first rock and
then crouch and shoot at the terrorist on the balcony, once he is
dead, continue rocking with the forward and back keys and
position your cross hair so it is on the top of the window frame
when you are right near it, press the jump key then immediately
the crouch key, it's tricky but with practice you can get through
the window, then take the sniper rifle and kill the terrorist
shooting at you from behind cover on the right, go over there and
take the fire extinguisher off the wall on your left at the
doorway, go through the doors and stash the fire extinguisher
some place further up the hallway as you need your hands free to
shoot terrorists, go forward until you come to some double doors,
they will be locked, but there are double doors on the right, go
through them, evenutally you will come to a room where it is
blocked by fire, now it's time to run back and get the fire
extinguisher, use it to clear your path, kill further terrorists,
then you come to a room with stairs where there is fire at the
bottom of them, up above are terrorists, you need to kill them
and put the fire out, then walk up and go to the door there to
end the level.



29. RUNNING THE GAUNTLET / 31

1. Find a way to the vault

Make your way through the area killing terrorists, soon you will
get to a door on your right it is set quite deep into the wall,
it will have 3 terrorists in there and a medikit, take the door
in there on the left, you will notice there is rubble around, go
through the door after you shoot the terrorist and come to a
doorway, you will hear heavy gunfire, it is coming from a police
helicopter, you must stay crouched down and take out the
terrorists, hide behind something, as the police helicopter
gunfire will hit you too, and it's an M60 so you won't last two
seconds, once the helicopter goes its safe to stand up and move
through the room, finish off any terrorists then come to a door
at the end of the room, there is a terrorist in here with an M60,
once again you musn't get hit by an M60 or you are finished,
start by crouching and opening the door, look up and a terrorsist
will come at you, then another, you must move forward into the
room staying crouched killing them both, then move forward still
crouched to about level with the end of the first partition of
one of the cubicles there, the gunfire from the M60 gunman will
appear right in front of you, aim at the sparks from the gunfire
and you should kill him imediately, you should be able to just
shoot the M60 wielding terrorist from where you are without him
being able to hit you, if you are quick, once he is dead, move
onto the next room where there are more terrorists then end the
level at the EXIT door but not before using the medikit there on
the right.


30. STILL THE COWBOY / 31

1. Find Hans and Holly
2. Save Holly's life by killing Hans

Start by killing the terrorist who comes at you from round the
first corner, then another two round another corner, then make
your way down a longish corridoor, on the right there is an
opening and there are two terrorists over there, just shoot at
them, then run, run back down the corridoor, there will be a
terrorist there on the corner, shoot him, take cover and get your
sniper rifle, one of the terrorists you just saw will be shooting
some heavy firepower at you with an M60, so lean round the corner
with your scope and kill him, then make your way back there,
don't worry about the other terrorist yet, he comes back later
on, go down there and see a medikit on the wall, stock up, and
then go around to see Hans with Holly, a cutscene plays and when
it's done, go back to where the medikit was and wait, the other
terrorist will now appear, it is essential you kill him now,
rather than tackle Hans, so kill him, then go back to Hans, stay
well clear from Hans, its best to take cover at the first shelf
and use your sniper scope, Hans gunshots can't harm you much from
this distance, put the crosshair of the scope on his forehead and
wait, every now and again Holly will try and break free and she
will roll down his body, and he will put his head sideways and
his arm up in the air, this is the ONLY time you must shoot at
him, you can put 2 bullets maybe 3 at his forehead, but be
careful you don't hit Holly, it's better to maybe shoot just one
or two shots off, once he has been hit about 3 times in this
manner, he will drag Holly off further up the room, follow them
round, keeping your distance and again do the same thing,
incidentally if you do go right up to him Holly will end up dead,
so always keep your distance, keep on like this, he will drag
Holly off again, and so on, eventually he will take her upwards
to a darkish area, there is a medikit open on the wall on the
left if you need it, you will see the white bandages in the dark
background, again keeping your distance wait for the right moment
and shoot Hans, then Holly will break free one last time and he
will fall out of the window to his death, you've done it! the
game is completed.
