Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island and Super Mario World 2:
Yoshi's Island Boss walkthrough - by Edgy.

Being a big fan of the Super Nintendo version, I decided to make
this boss walkthrough for anyone who may find things difficult
either on the original Super Nintendo game or on the new Game Boy
Advance game. The isn't any difference in the games, other than
the screen size, so this guide is compatable with both
versions.

1-4 Burt the Bashful
----------------------------------------------------

Being the bashful little fella he is, he likes to hide behind his
chin high clothing. After Kamek has made him grow into one heck
of a large thing, he'll try to crush you. The best thing to do is
to make sure you've picked up some eggs before getting to him,
then fire them at him, waiting for him to stop flashing between
each hit. Whilst he is flashing he is invulnerable to attack, but
this only lasts a few seconds anyway. If you run out of eggs, you
can always get some from the egg-spitting plant in the center of
the arena. Once Burt the Bashful's clothing has come right off,
Burt will deflate like a balloon and you can claim your glory.

1-8 Salvo the Slime
-----------------------------------------------------

There are two ways to beat Salvo the slime, and to be quite
honest, they're about as easy as each other to do. When Salvo is
at his biggest, he is at his most dangerous, so make sure you
enter those red doors with a full arsenal of eggs at your
disposal. When he starts bouncing towards you, aim your eggs at
him and fire. Watch out though, when he shrinks, lots of little
yellow Slimes will be produced. You can consume them to make
yourself some more eggs if you need to, but whilst he's small,
you can try and get him to fall into the lava patch at the bottom
left of the arena. If you find that a little difficult, you might
prefer to just keep firing those eggs at him, dodging the little
yellow Slimes until he shrinks into nothingness. Either way,
Salvo is quite an easy boss to beat, so you shouldn't have any
trouble at all.

2-4 Bigger Boo
----------------------------------------------------------

Unlike the first two bosses, Bigger Boo enlarges when you attack
him, and to make it even harder, you cannot attack him whilst
you're facing him else he'll turn invisible and invulnerable to
attacks. The trick is to face one of the walls, aim directly at
the wall, and throw your eggs so that they bounce off and hit boo
in the unprepared face. If you run out of eggs then there are
plenty of bats flying around you can convert, and if you manage
to lose Baby Mario, you can still jump through Bigger Boo's
invisible self and not get hurt. When Bigger Boo has enlarged too
much, he will explode and you'll be done.

2-8 The Potted Ghost
----------------------------------------------------

If there was one word that could describe battling this guy, it
would be 'easy'. Why? Because his physical attacks can't hurt
you. All you have to do is keep running towards his pot, thus
pushing it towards a drop on the right. You'll easily compete
with the combined strength of the Shy Guys and will only need to
stop pushing when The Potted Ghost fires his blue flames at you.
So just keep pushing til you hear a pop and "It's a boy!"

3-4 Prince Froggy
-------------------------------------------------------

This time it's your turn to be changed by Kamek. Infact, he'll
shrink you so small that a mere frog can swallow both Yoshi and
Mario whole! When inside Froggy's very empty insides, you will
see many a shy guy and a pair of tonsils. Avoiding the flames
inside Prince Froggy's stomach, turn those shy guys into eggs and
fire them at Froggy's tonsils. More flames will appear everytime
and you'll have to cope with the slippery platforms that make
controlling Yoshi quite difficult, but if you master it, you'll
soon be back to your normal size outside of Froggy's digestive
system.

3-8 Naval Piranha
-------------------------------------------------------

See that giant X on the stem of the Piranha? That's it's weak
spot. The best way to beat this guy is to aim your crosshair at
the wall closest to you, allow the egg to glide along the water,
and the Naval Piranha will feel a little pain. Watch out for his
charging attacks, and keep throwing those eggs!

4-4 Marching Milde
------------------------------------------------------

Again, Kamek will perform an original piece of magic and makr
Marching Milde grow like a monster from the Mighty Morphin Power
Rangers! Jump ontop of Milde and bodyslam yourself down towards
the ground (Jump then hold down) Milde will split into two
smaller Mildes. Keep attacking each one in the same way and
they'll soon reach the normal size. Then it's a case of making
them pop by doing some more downward bodyslamming, and you've
beaten him.

4-8 Hookbill the Koopa
--------------------------------------------------

Being a giant koopa, you'd've thought it would be as simple to
keep jumping on his back right? Wrong. To beat Hookbill, keep
firing eggs at his chin. When he turns onto his back,
gravity-slam him like you did to Milde and you will hurt
Hookbill. If you start running out of eggs then jump onto
Hookbill's shell when he's the normal way up and he'll cough up
some eggs quicker than you can say "Courgette Fattata!"

5-4 Sluggy the Unshaven
-------------------------------------------------

This guy is one tricky fella so make sure you've got a full
barrel of eggs at your disposal. Sluggy will edge towards you in
attempt to knock you off an edge which will being you imminent
doom. To avoid this, keep bombarding him with eggs, which will
dent him. Keep aiming at his heart and you'll eventually have a
clear shot at it. One good shot will knock him out and you'll be
victorious.

5-8 Raphael the Raven
---------------------------------------------------

This is one of those rare battles where eggs aren't needed. Yoshi
and Raphael will start out on a globe which has two wooden stakes
poking out of the ground. Keep running away from Raphael until he
stops chasing, and if he's stopped on the opposite side of a
stake, gravity-slam the stake and it will pop out the other side,
stabbing him. Just keep repeating this, quite simple really.
Occasionally he will fire flames at you, so just jump over them
and keep running.

6-4 Tap-Tap the Red Nose
------------------------------------------------

Tap-Tap will mindlessly try to jump into you throughout the
entire battle. The best way to deal with a maniac like this is to
destroy the ground on which he is supposed to land. Eventually
you'll make a clearing big enough for him to fall right through
and he'll jump down the bottom and burn in the lava beneath.

6-8a Baby Bowser
--------------------------------------------------------

When you face Baby Bowser, you have to beat him at his own game.
He will attack you by trying to ride you, thus jumping into the
air and slamming his weight onto the ground. This causes a
shockwave which will hurt Yoshi. Jump over the shockwave and
quickly copy Baby Bowser, slamming the ground right next to him.
This will cause a shockwave back and will hurt Baby Bowser
instead. Just make sure you're prepared for what will happen when
you win. It's not too late to change your mind and hand over
Mario you know!

6-8b Giant Baby Bowser
--------------------------------------------------

This is one hell of a fun end-game boss! As his name suggests,
Baby Bowser has been made into a giant with the aid of, yep, you
guessed it, Kamek the Magikoopa. First of all, Bowser will try to
hurt you by throwing rocks at you. An arrow will indicate where
they will land so keep running away from the arrows or face
getting sucked down with the rocks. You cannot attack bowser yet.
When the rockfall ends, Bowser will start walking towards you. If
he gets too close, it's game-over for Mario, so make sure you're
not too slow. Occasionally you will see balloons floating past
carrying giant eggs. Get Yoshi to grab these, stand as close to
the center of the screen as you can and prepare to fire. Instead
of Yoshi aiming from up, to one of the directions then down, he
will aim up, forward then down. So make sure you aim right - not
too high and not too low. Fire those eggs and watch as they hit
Bowser knocking him back for a short while. Bowser will attack
you by throwing fireballs at you, but with careful dodging, they
shouldn't be too much of a problem. After a few hits, Bowser will
throw more rocks at Yoshi causing more of the land to disappear.
This makes escaping Bowser's attacks a lot more difficult, and
Bowser will become a bit more athletic too increasing his running
speed to intercept. So make sure you're quick with those eggs,
keep hitting him and eventually you'll win!

Time to Save the Stork
--------------------------------------------------

Well I wont spoil the ending for you, even if I have the bosses,
and what to do next is pretty self explanatory anyway. I hope
this guide was helpful and I hope you enjoyed playing Super Mario
Land 2: Yoshi's Island whether it was on the Super Nintendo or
the Game Boy Advance.
