Retro Game Walkthroughs for Mario Party 4 (Gamecube)

In the walkthrough I will cover Items and All of the standard
Mini games. To find out the general rules of the game check out

Time_Warp
Characters: Mario, Wario, Luigi, Waluigi, Peach, Daisy, DK,
Yoshi.
All of the characters have different abilities, some are better
at things than others, e.g Wario is not as fast as Yoshi, etc.
The aim of the game once you have picked you character and board
is to collect as many Stars as possible. Here are things in the
board that will aid you or send you in the wrong direction on
the quest to win!
Blue Spaces: Give you 3 coins when you land on it.
Red Spaces: Takes away 3 coins when you land on it.
Bowser Space: It�s a spooky black square with a red Bowser face
on it. Usually when you land on this space, a baby Bowser will
float down on a balloon and steal some coins off of you. But
Bowser can summon you to a Bowser game. Here, the loser can
loses items, coins and the games are mostly chance, making them
quite tricky.
Battle Space: Bob-ombs face on a green square. A random amount
of coins will be taken from everyone on this square, and you
play a certain kind of mini game and the winner takes all.
Boo-yeh!
Happening Space: Basically a question mark on a green space.
These outcomes vary depending on the theme of the board,
anything could happen!�
Mushroom Space: Space with a mushroom picture on it. You get the
option to select a big or small box with random sized mushrooms
in them.
Warp Space: Yellow star thing on a space. A spinner with all the
other players will appear when the spinner stops you will see
your self being propelled to that persons square by a spring!
Fortune Space: A rainbow star on a space- La di da! :D. You play
a reversal of fortune mini game here. You do a pinball sort of
thing which decides you give some thing to someone, and what
that is.
Lottery Shop: You pay 5 coins to enter 1 of 2 games. Either a
scratch card to win loads of money or a little machine which
spits out a ball and if you get a certain colour you win! Oh
yeah, you get a free lottery ticket too!
Item Shop: You can buy things here to use on the board.
Boo House: Just like Boos crystal ball, you can pay money to
have coins or stars stolen from other players.
Items you can get from the item shop and on the board are:
Magic Lamp
30 Coins
Info: After using the old lamp, the genie will whack you
over to the star, pronto!
Boo's Crystal Ball
25 Coins
Info: You can pay Boo to steal
Coins or a Star from another player but it will
cost you a lot more to take a star
Mega Mushroom
5 Coins
Info: When you get this out, your character will become
huge, have two rolls of the dice, squish opponents for 10 coins,
but miss stars, items shops, etc.
Mini Mushroom
5 Coins
Info: When you use it you will be small, although only being
able to roll up to 5 on the dice, you can squeeze into new
areas.
Super Mega Mushroom
15 Coins
Info: Same as mega mushroom but you get 3 rolls of dice.
Super Mini Mushroom
15 Coins
Info: Same as mini mushroom but you get 2 rolls of the 1-5
dice.
Gaddlight
15 Coins
Info: This protects from Boos that will take your
Coins or Stars. But after you have used it
once, that�s it, so use it wisely!
Warp Pipe
10 Coins
A spinner will appear and spin on characters faces, whoever the
spinner lands on, you will swap places with, and with a little
precision you can choose who you want to trade with.
Chomp Call
15 Coins
Info: The whereabouts of the Star square is changed.
Item Bag
30 Coins
Info: This bag has totally random items inside. When you
buy it you get 3 or less items.
Sparky Sticker
15 Coins
Info: When you use this on a square it is set like a trap
and if a player lands on it will lose 10 coins and effects they
are using, e.g mushrooms.
Mini-Mega Hammer
10 Coins
Info: This randomly hits a player on the board, and makes
them
either mega or mini-sized, simple.
Swap Card
15 Coins
Info: A little spinner appears and randomly selects a
character, you will then trade items with them, woohoo!
The Mini games!
4 Player Mini Games
Booksquirm : The books pages turn, find holes and don�t get
squished!
Buttons: Control Stick
Advice: Find the shadow of the hole or another shape behind
one.
Mr Blizzards Brigade: Avoid the snowmen (growing in numbers)
throwing snowballs at you, otherwise they turn you into
ice!...eep!
Buttons: Control Stick moves you around, but its skiddy so be
careful!
Domination: Knock over as many dominoes as possible!
Buttons: Tap A
Advice: Tap A as fast as you can!
Mario Medley: Breaststroke, Backstroke, and Crawl your way to
victory in the pool!
Buttons: A+B Simultaneously, L+R Alternately, A+B Alternately in
the order of those events.
Advice: Your energy goes down, so balance out how fast you
swim.
Avalanche!: Ski down the slope, avoiding the avalanche and the
boulders.
Buttons: Control stick, A button to go faster.
Advice: Don�t go slow or you�ll get hit by the avalanche!
Three Throw: Get as many baskets as you can�but they�re moving!
Buttons: A jumps. B shoots
Advice: Time your jump so you can get middle baskets which give
you more points.
Mario Speedwagons: Change gears at the right time to win the
race!
Buttons: R to accelerate, Press A to switch gear.
Advice: When the meter goes into the red section, change gear!
Photo Finish: Put all the pieces in the jigsaw, there�s only one
spot for each.
Buttons: L+R to rotate piece, Control stick moves it around, A
to place it down.
Advice: Look at your mates and see how they�re doing it, lol.
Manta Rings: Swim in the ocean while avoiding enemies and go
through the rings!
Buttons: Control stick to move, A to go faster.
Advice: Dodge enemies as they lose points, get the gold rings.
Long Claw of the law: See whose on the wanted poster and go
through windows, when you find the guy you want, grab him with
your claw!
Buttons: L+R to rotate to a different window, Control stick- up
and down, A to grab.
Take a Breather: Take in a deep breath to stay in the water as
long as possible!
Buttons: Tap L+R.
Advice: Tap L+R as fast as you can!
Slime Time: Run along the platforms one by one and escape the
slime by getting to the centre.
Buttons: Tap A
Advice: Tap A until you reach your goal!
Toads quick draw: When Toad raises the flag, shoot the balloon
which colour matches it!
Buttons: Control Stick moves, A shoots.
Advice: Hover you cursor around the middle of the balloons so
you can shoot them easily.
Stamp Out: Hop around on your coloured stamp and colour as much
as possible!
Buttons: A Jumps, Control stick moves.
Advice: Go over other peoples colouring to take up more
percentage of the page for you and less for them.
Bob-Omb Breakers: Tetris style game, get 3 or more of a shape to
get points.
Buttons: A+B rotate, X+Y flip shapes
Advice: Use other players areas to get points too.
Paratrooper Plunge!: Falling through the air, grab as many coins
as you can but avoid enemies.
Buttons: Control stick�controls!
Advice: Fly around in circles like the coins are set out but
avoid nasties!
2 On 2 mini games!
Pair A sailing!: One player drives a boat, the other is above on
a parachute, collect coins and watch out for crates!
Buttons: A accelerates, B slows down, Control stick moves,
Parachuter can move too.
Advice: Avoid crates, slow down to get lower coins.
Dungeon Duos: With eachothers help you can get through the
dungeon by pressing switches, activating bridges and so on.
Buttons: A jumps, B moves a lever, Y+X rotate platforms, L+R
fills balloon with air.
Team Treasure Trek Go through the maze, find the chest and meet
your partner who should have the other chest to finish!
Buttons: Control Stick moves you around the maze.
Advice: Use the map to help see where the treasure or where you
partner is.
Order up!: Toad asks for some food, go around the table and find
it!
Buttons: Control stick moves around the table, A selects food to
open.
Advice: Try to remember where the food is, if that�s to hard
just go for it!
The Great Deflate: You and your partner jump up and down on the
inflate Thwomp.
Buttons: A to jump, then in mid air press A to pound the
Thwomp.
Advice: Jump N� pound at the same time to have a more effective
impact.
Cliffhangers!: With you partner tied to you, climb the cliff,
but hold on when a blizzard comes!
Buttons: Control stick climbs around, A holds on.
Advice: Look for the !!! to see if its time to hold on or not.
Right Oar Left?: Navigate your way through the cave in a boat,
while dodging hazzards!
Buttons: B+A moves forward, B is left oar, A is right oar.
Advice: Avoid flames which will spin you, keep in time with
partner!
Reverse a bomb: Press buttons on panel to switch bombs back in
opposite direction to blow up opposition!
Buttons: A presses switch, control stick moves around.
Advice: One partner take the top half, the other take the top
half.
Cheep Cheep Sweep: Move through the pond, grab Cheep Cheeps in
your net and put them in your teams area.
Buttons: A swings net, Control stick moves in pond.
Advice: Yellow Cheep Cheeps are worth 2 points, get them. Move
slowly so you don�t scare them.
3 On 1 Mini games!
GOOOAL!!!: 3 Players shoot at the goal, with one keeper, 10
goals wins it for them.
Buttons: Shooters: A to shoot, hold down to charge up, control
stick aims. Keeper: Control stick moves, A jumps, so A and
control stick can dive.
Advice: Shooters: All shoot at once Keeper: run around like
made!
Hide and go Boom!: 3 players go in different Cannons, the other
player lights the cannons, if after 3 tries he fails the other 3
win.
Buttons: A, B, X, Y are the cannon buttons for both players.
Advice: Don�t go into cannons until you are off screen!
Blame it on the crane: One player sits in Crane trying to grab
other 3 who are in balls as well as Shy Guys making it
trickier.
Buttons: Crane operator: A go forward and go down, Ball
inhabitants: Control stick to move.
Advice: Crane operator, single them out. Ball inhabitants, hide
amongst Shy guys.
Fish N� Drips: Fill the water tanks. One player does it on there
own, other 3 take it in turns to press a button.
Buttons: A, B, L, R, X, Y for player on own- do it in right
order. A, B, L, R, X, Y for other three players, press the right
button on your turn.
Advice: Player on there own, take your time, the other 3 need to
be quick but cant make any costly mistakes.
Money Belts: A conveyor belt is moving, 3 players are on one and
1 is on another, you must avoid sweets which will push you off
and wait time and collect as many coins as you can.
Buttons: Move with control stick.
Advice: Avoid sweets and always keep running!
Makin Waves: 3 players bounce up and down in water to knock off
player on platform in the middle.
Buttons: A and A to Jump N� Stomp, Lone player, move around
platform to stay safe.
Advice: 3 players, move around and test out making waves at
different place, player by them selves should walk on side that
isn�t tipping up on the platform.
Tree Stomp: One player runs away from 3 other who are in killer
robots.
Buttons: lone player needs to leg it with control stick,
Robotiers: A to move forward, B reverses, control stick moves.
Advice: 3 players corner the other player, he should lead them
into bananas.
Candlelight Flight: 1 player has candle, the other 3 must put it
out with water pistols!
Buttons: Player on own should run back and forth around room
with control stick, other 3 move with control stick and press A
to fire water pistols.
Advice: 1 player needs to run in all directions, other 3 should
corner him.
Hop or Pop: 1 player races around in a spiky ball, the 3 other
must roll and jump to avoid being popped!
Buttons: Control stick rolls, A jumps.
Advice: 3 players need to spread out and jump around. 1 player
should attack if they are in a group.
Mini games unlockable through story mode
Archaeologuess: 5 shapes spin around, guess which one.
Buttons: A to select.
Advice: Look carefully!
Kareening Koopas: There is a panel you can tilt to move shells
into holes, but watch out for palm trees.
Buttons: Control Stick to tilt board.
Advice: take it slowly but at first just go nuts when you have
all 4 out.
Mystic Match 'Em: Both players get 3 cards with musical
instruments on each and a pile of card on the able. Match you
three cards.
Buttons: Press A to throw away cards, select card with control
stick.
Goomba's Chip Flip: Chips are spread along a board and all have
different numbers on. You must get 50 points first but some
chips have 20 on them and some even go down to �10. Ground pound
on chips to see what they are.
Buttons: A to Jump N� Pound.
Bowser Bop: You are in a playroom equipped with a hammer ands
you must bash as many Bowsers and Mini Bowsers that pop out as
possible.
Buttons: Control stick moves, A hits.
Advice: Big Bowser is worth more points.
