This guide is based on the 'Normal' difficulty and riddle mode.



Lakeside Amusement Park.
------------------------

Okay horror fans, when the game starts you find yourself in a spooky and isolated amusement park, you can have a look around if you like but this is basically a nightmare you're in, so don't worry about fighting any monsters you find, just let them kill 'Heather' so you can really begin the game.


Central Square Mall.
--------------------

After the opening scenes and your first meeting with a private detective named 'Cartland', look around until you find the toilets, and notice the strange red symbol on the mirror, these symbols are save points throughout the game.
To give the detective the slip climb out of the window and head up the alleyway until you see a door on the right hand side.
Go inside and turn right at the junction in the corridor, carry along the length of the corridor and through the double doors at the end into a small mall area.
Look for the shop that has the shutter half open and go inside, watch the cutscene then grab the handgun and shoot the creature in here, you can also find some ammo laying around.
Go behind the counter and leave through the door to the right, get the mall map from the nearby notice board.
Now look for the door marked exit and go up the stairs, kill the weird Hammer headed creature at the top of the stairs and start searching the doors in this corridor.
The first door you can open on the right has a dog monster inside so shoot this and get the 'Beef Jerky' which can be used to distract these creatures in the future.
Carry on along the corridor and go into another storeroom on the right, this is a save point, plus there is ammo and health drinks inside.
Also notice a key stuck under the table that you can't reach yet, now head back to the other end of the corridor and through the door signed 'No Smoking'.
You are now on level 2 of the mall, avoid the monsters and look for 'Helen's Bakery', pick up the tongs and go back to the storeroom and use the tongs to retrieve the 'My Bestsellers Key'.
Now head back to the mall area and use the key to open the bestsellers Bookshop.
Look for the shelf where there is a gap for five books then go to the door with a keypad beside it, a sign on the door says 'fair is foul and foul is fair', what you need to do is place five famous books in order in the gap on the book shelf.
Put the books in order to read a four digit code, if you place the books II, I, III, IV, V this will give you the code '2835' now use the code to open the keypad.

After the cutscebe with 'Claudia' go to the lift and hit the 'X button', another creepy cutscene kicks in,then either shoot or avoid the dogs, check your map and go to the south west corner.
Go into the room ahead of you and collect the health drinks, this is also a save area.
There's only one route to take, so carry on until you can go through some double doors,there are more monsters in this mall area, head past these and look for a room in the far north of the map.
Go inside and get the ammo, first aid and 'Flashlight'.
In the toilet next door, find some 'Bleach' then make your way to the end of the corridor and go through the half open shutter.
There's another couple of creatures to avoid/kill then go to another half open shutter further down and go through.
In this room get the 'Bullit Proof Vest' and a 'Clothes Hanger'.
Now go back into the mall where the monsters are and head north and look for the room that has a white ladder hanging above you and use the clothes hanger to pull the ladder down.



Shopping Centre.
----------------

When you've climbed the ladder you are by some escalators, go over to the T.V and enter the door to the left, kill the three creatures, grab the ammo and health and then leave through the door at the back.
From this corridor, go to the south west corner of the map and find a room with some broken showcases, in here get a 'Walnut' from the table and leave to the west which takes you back to the escalator area.
Use the save point if you like and go up the escalators, head right and go through the double doors.
Now go take a look at the dead dog served up on a tray and get the 'Cooked Key'.
Go back outside and search all the doors in this area and make a note of the Red Crescent on one of them.
Make your way back to the room wher you found the walnut, exit into the main corridor and head north west and use the cooked key to open the door to the Cafe.
Pick up the health from the shelf and take the steel pipe from the wall near the steam, now go through the double doors into the central area, kill the two creatures and exit through brown doors into the south west corner of the map.
Go inside the small room with the open door and take the 'Detergent' then exit through a small green door.
Go over to the fan and turn it off, leave through the green door to the left, mix the Bleach and Detergent to make a Poisonous gas that you can use to kill some moths that are gathering, then go back and turn the fan on again and clear the gas.
Go back along the moth corridor and turn right at the junction, go into the only door that opens and kill the monster then exit through some double doors into a large area with a few creatures to be avoided, head right and go into the sports shop.
Crack the walnut in the vice and get the moonstone and head back to that door that had the Red Crescent on it.
Use the moonstone on the door and go into the central area , look for the ladder that goes down and get ready for youe first Boss fight.



Split Worm Boss.
----------------

This is a giant worm has you might have guessed, simply avoid it's slither and earth quake attacks, then when it opens it's mouth shoot it a couple of times, just keep repeating this and a dozen or so hits should kill it.
After the fight, the shopping centre returns to normal, leave to the west of your map through the half open shutter, look out for a burger shop for some goodies and exit to the west for a cutscene with Cartland.



Hazel Street Subway.
--------------------

Go to the concourse and through the small grey door, have a look at the information poster by the turnstiles and find out you want the 'Bergen Street Train' on platform 3.
Head through the gap to the right of the turnstiles, then get the map on the wall to the right.
Look at the map and make your way to platform 1, then after a cutscene where you get pushed onto the tracks run over to the high sided platform and press the X button twice get get back up before the train hits you.
Now check your map and make your way to platform 4, you will see two sets of stairs, search them both for the 'Nutcracker' and some ammo and health.
Go back up the stairs and make your way to the entrance of platform 2 and use the nutcracker to break the bolt and chain then go down the stairs.
Search the abandond train for a shotgun and kill the big boated monster.
Go to the other end of the platform and down the stairs, look at the map and head for the tunnel to platform 3.
Kill any creatures along the way and make your way to the far end of the platform, jump onto the tracks and go to the door where the red light is coming from.
Some dogs will attack you and a train will start pulling in, so run to where you can jump onto the platform before getting hit.
To enter the train, go to the far end of the platform and through the unlocked gate, go up the stairs and down the stairs at the other side then enter the last carraige.
After a cutscene you can save your game on the carraige floor, then make your way along the train killing any monsters until you reach the front and get get off when the train pulls into the next station.



Underpass.
----------
Leave through the door on the right, go along the platform and down the steps, turn right at the junction and through a big white door.
Your only way out is through a small blue door, carry on until you reach a junction then go straight on.
Head through a door on the right, dodge past some monsters then at the next junction go left into a room and get the underpass map plus a great big club like weapon called a Maul.
Leave by the other door taking care of any creatures.
The corridor will widen a little and you'll reach another junction, go straight ahead and through the first door on the right.
Get the 'Wine Bottle' and some health.
Go back to the corridor and head to the right where some traffic cones are, if you go around the corner you'll find some shotgun ammo.
Now go back to the junction, turn right and head through the big white door at the end.
Run past the monsters and through the door on the left. head to the end of this well lit corridor and go through the door.
Go to the right until you reach another big white door, go through and kill the two creatures, check your map and go to the first room to the west, make note of the fuel tank and a water filled hole.
Go to the second romm on the west side and use the empty wine bottle with the Kerosene pump then go back to the fuel tank and use the kerosene filled wine bottle.
Look for a switch on the wall to start up a hoist which will clear the way to climb down the ladder and into the sewers.



Sewers.
-------

Once your in the sewer climb the two sets of stairs, go through the blue door and across the little bridge.
Go down the stairs and through another blue door, check your map then head south and then west up some stairs to a room with a 'Hair Dryer' and some goodies.
Leave and head east back to the main south/north flow then go through the big white doors.
Turn left at the junction and through the blue door, read the note about the water monster and save your game if you like.
Through the next door, use the hair dryer with the outlet on the wall, this will give you a cutscene of the monster being toasted.
Go over the bridge and through the door, keep heading south and through the blue door at the end.
Make your way along the edge of the sewer until you reach a small sewer passage heading west, go along here and through a blue door into a well lit passage, down and up some stairs then through the door, some more stairs then turn right, carry on until you reach a small area with a ladder.
Go up the ladder to a canvas wall covered area and follow it around to the save point.



Hilltop Centre.
---------------

Enter through a white door and pick up some health drinks, before going through adoor by the broken elevator, go up the stairs in the next room and make your way to the fifth floor, go through the door there then another one into a large room.
Look for a section of the wall that's a lighter colour than the rest and use the Maul weapon on it, doing this you discover a silencer for the gun.
Go over and look at the dirty mattress so that Heather clears a way down to the floor below.
After jumping down the hole, leave through the hole in the wall then run around the outside of the building until you can climb back into the main office complex.
Go through the door and into the corridor,,follow it to the end and search the room that has the mannequins scattered about for some ammo.
Head outside and through the door on the right.
Kill the dogs in this corridor then keep to the left and look at the door with the red exit sign.
Go through the door marked 'Monica's Dance Studio' and through the door ahead of you.
Inside the Dance Hall Office get the office map from the table, there's a drawer under the table that can't be opened yet.
Head to the south area of the 3rd floor and go through the last door at the end of the corridor for a health pick up.
Now go to the big room at the other end of the corridor to the north.
Clear the room of any monsters then go back to the door with the red exit sign.
Go up to the fifth floor and head for the office to the west of the map and take the 'Jack' from the shelf.
Now go to the north east corner of the map to search the museum, you will find a 'Katana' in a small room and a 'Screwdriver' on a table at the end of the passage at the northend.
Go back to the 3rd floor and use the Screwdriver with the stuck drawer, get the rope from the drawer then go to the elevator with the gap in the doors.
Use the Jack to open the elevator doors and the rope to get a cutscene then slide down to the 2nd floor by pressing the X button.
Go through one of the Echo doors on the west of the map and head north to a room with a bathtub, then go to the north west corner and another bathtub and another cutscene.
Go south from the room and get some ammo from the wheelchair then go through the door killing any monsters in here.
Go north through to a room with a green light on the wall read the note and save if you like.
Head through the door and meet 'Vincent' for the first time.
In the next room, get the 'Oxydol' and health pick ups and take a look at the high school chemistry book.
Go back to the corridor and take the lift to the north to the 1st floor.
Now go to the Last Drop Cafe ,kill the monster and get the 'Pork Liver' from the fridge.
Go to the north of the map and see the creature blocking the way, read the fairytale in the nearby book then get the lift to the 5th floor.
In the south west corner of the map get the 'Matchbook' then go to the east and then north side of the map to find the Gallery.
Look for a large picture on the wall, combine the Oxydol, Pork Liver and Matchbook which burns the picture to reveal an exit hatch.
Go down to the 4th floor and read the next piece of fairytale on the table then leave through the door.
Head all the way along this corridor to a big room on the west side, find the Silver Coin and use it on the vending machine which drops an 'Insurance Key'.
Go back out, turn left and open the door in front of you, then head for the elevator and go to the 1st floor.
Go to the door to the west side and use the life insurance key, head south killing any monsters and enter the second room on the south corridor.
Read the last part of the fairytale and then go to where the monster was blocking the exit to find it gone.
Leave the building and start making your way home.

After leaving the Hilltop Centre, carry on down the road and go down the first alley to your left which takes you to the ' Daisy Villa Apartments', enter the apartments and make your way to room #102.
You might want to save your game at the save point near the apartment, then get ready for your next Boss battle.

Missionary Boss.
----------------

Following the cut scene with the weird Claudia you must do battle with a large double bladed monster that's fairly quick.
The shotgun's not a bad weapon to equip here, keep running around and firing when you get the opportunity, if you here a pinging noise it means the monster has deflected the bullit with it's blades, so just keep moving and shooting and about half a dozen good shots should put it out of it's misery.



Silent Hill.
------------

Detective Douglas makes an appearance in the next cut scene, so afterwards go to your bedroom and take the 'Stun Gun' and a couple of battery packs out of the drawar.
Leave the apartment and exit the apartments, yet another cutscene with Douglas on the way to Silent Hill, you may regconise some surroundings from Silent Hill 2 and you can save your game when you reach your motel room.
When your ready to go, you now have to make your way to the hospital ( another SH2 location ).
If you look at your map the easiest way is to head towards Rosewater park and then along Nathan Avenue, when you reach the Bowlarama go south and go into Heavens Gate nightclub, look at the pamphlet and get the health pick-ups.
Now carry on down the road to where the hospital is marked on the map.



Brookhaven Hospital.
--------------------

Straight into battle and kill the two nurses, then go into the office ahead of you where you will find a save point.
Get the hospital map and health drinks and go through to the room on the right, look at the account of 'Stanley Coleman' and go into the Doctor's lounge for some ammo.
Head to the west side of the map and find room C4, take a look at the object puzzle and then go to the lift and take it to level 2.
Go down the corridor and read the note on the table, make your way to the women's locker room and get the 'Nail varnish remover and Perfume' plus some ammo, ( you can equip the perfume to distract some creatures ).
Go back down to room C4 and use the varnish remover to get the key off of the wall.
Head back to the second floor and go to the number puzzle at the end of the corridor, use the code '8634', go through the door and kill the nurses then make your way to the examination room.
Look at the body then go to room M4, when you get there turn off the alarm and make a note of the time, and enter this code to open the case.
Get the camera from the case and go to room M5, kill more nurses and take the first aid, now go back to the first floor.
Use the stairwell key to enter the basement area and pick up the ' sub-machine gun' and ammo near the wheelchair.
Go into the storeroom to the south, examine the gap that you cannot get into and take a photo of it to reveal the code '6534'.
Go up the stairwell to the third floor and head to the storeroom in the northwest corner which is also a save room.
Next head to the west side of the map and use the photo code to open the keypad, make your way to room S1, read the artical and get the health pick-ups.
Head to room S7 and look at the note, then go to room S12 and answer the phone that rings.
Take the lift back to the second floor and leg it to the end of the corridor, enter the door marked 'M' and carry on until you reach a small door, just keep going on through the corridors until you reach a save point.



Brookhaven ( Changed).
----------------------

The atmosphere now turns to nightmare mode so leave through the door and climb up the ladder then leave through the door to the right.
Make your way to room S3, pick up the ammo and go to the examination room 4.
Look at the bucket of blood then go to the day room.
Go across the room and leave through the other side, kill the creatures and go into the storeroom by the lift.
In this room keep moving in front of the mirror until it stops reflecting your movements then get out of there.
Go to the second floor and head back to the women's locker room, get the health and plastic bag out of the bin then go to the men's locker room and open the locker with the phone in it.
Following a cutscene, go to examination room 4 and use the plastic bag with the bucket of blood.
Now get the lift to floor B3 and look at the roman numerals on the cooker door, then you need to match the position of the numbers with the positions of the adjacent beds, noting the order I to IV which they should be written down, this should give you the lock code '6387'.
Get the ' Cremated key' and go to the exanination room on the first floor, read the document and get the ampoule.
Make your way to the day room and exit into the west side of the map killing any nurses/creatures you find.
Go to room C1 and look at the birthday card and the ammo.
Now use the blood you collected earlier with the 'Sacrificial Altar' and climb down the ladder for your next Boss fight.



Leonard Boss.
-------------

The best tactic is to equip the shotgun and simply keep moving and shoot the monster whenever it pops up out of the water, eight or nine good shots is all it will take to defeat this beast.
You will then get a bright light and a cutscene, after which you can get the 'Talsiman' and now leave the Hospital.
Now you have to head back to Jacks Inn for a cutscene and then go along Nathan Avenue until another cutscene.



Lakeside Amusements.
--------------------

After the cutscene, go through the yellow corrugated door, kill the couple of creatures and go into the souvenier shop on the right.
Pick up the health kits, ammo and a 'Rollercoaster key' which is in a tin on the floor.
Go back outside and carry on and through a brown door on the right, kill the dogs and go through the steel door on the other side.
Turn left and follow the signs for the 'Mountain Coaster', then go up the steps.
Go into the control box using the key and then use the panel, pressing 'yes' to deactivate the power.
Go through the gate onto the tracks and just run along the tracks until a cutscene kicks in.
Following this scene, go through the doors into the 'Borley haunted Mansion', keep listening to the recorded voice messages and just follow the instructions through the room until you reach the door marked 'exit'.
Now run like hell down the corridor, if the red light catches you it's game over, go through the door and keep running until you reach the second door.
You now have to battle through several areas until you arrive at the stage area, then pick up the 'Chain' and the 'Red Shoe'.
Now make your way back to the 'Rocket ride' which you passed a few area's earlier.
When you arrive, attach one end of the chain to the bar in the central column, and the other end to the green gate marked closed.
To get this ride started, go to the control room, use the switch and go through the opened gate.
Following the cutscene go through the gate and into the 'Fortune House' and take the Dolls head and Cartlands notebook.
Now go to the nearby 'Dolls House', use the red shoe with the 'Cinderella' figure and the Dolls head with the 'Snow White' figure.
Leave through the door on the left, then through the metal door at the left end of the passage.
Dodge past any monsters that attack and through the swing gates, and go over and get on the 'Carousel'.
Once the carousel starts, look for the horse with the note pinned on it and read it, now equip your Katane blade and slash all of the twelve horses until they are dead, killing the last one sparks the next Boss fight.



Alessa Boss.
------------

In this fight you must kill four versions of yourself, the first attacks you with a knife, the second one has a handgun, the third has a Katana blade and the last one is the toughest with a machine gun.
Your own Katana blade is good close up, and use your guns for distance attacks.
It does take a little time to defeat all four,but just keep using the tactics until there all dead.
Once all four are beaten look for a puddle of blood on the floor at examine it, now get off the carousel and leave through the nearby door.
Look at the writings on the tunnel wall as you make your way along and go up the steps at the end.



The Church.
-----------

Look at the sign on the door and then go into the chapel for a cutscene with Claudia.
Afterwards get the 'Eye of night' tarot card from behind the pulpit, you can also save your game.
leave through the door on the right and get the church map, go into the confession room, watch the cutscene then make a choice?
Go down the corridor and through the door on the left, run past the monster and out the other door into a corridor with two fat creatures, kill these and go around to the right and into this room for some ammo, a letter and pick up the cassette recorder.
Go back out into the corridor, and make your way to the room at the end which has a big red icon on the floor.
Leave this room and you will hear screams, so re-enter and save your game.
Now when you go back to the corridor the screams should have stopped.
Examine the painting on the wall and move it, go through the door this reveals and follow the passage to the end.
Go around the edge of the platform and kill the creature here, enter the door at the end and look at the books in here.
Get the 'Moon tarot card', watch the cutscene with Vincent then use the lift to get to the lower level.
Leave the lift and go through the door to the right, go through the door ahead of you and get the 'Hanged man' tarot card off of the body on the trolley.
Carry on along the corridor and through to the next room, get the 'diary' from the bed and make your way back towards the lift and follow the platform to the other end.
Go through the last but one door and kill the monsters in here, head through the door at the end and into the room on the left hand side.
Run past the creatures and through the door opposite, now look for some bloody footprints halfway down the this corridor and interact with the wall to reveal a secret entrance.
Go inside and get the 'Fool' tarot card, read the book of 'Aglaophotis' and take the health and ammo pick ups.
Head back to the room with the three creatures and go left down the corridor, turn left again and go into Alyssa's room, look at the door and realise you need one more tarot card to open it.
Take the brass key from the wall and go all the way back to the confession rooms near the chapel.
Use the key on the door near the confession rooms, enter the first room on the left and read the letter on the desk.
leave through the other door, run past the monsters and through the first door on the right.
Read the letter and use the cassette with the recorder.
Go back outside and enter the next door on the right to get the 'High Priestess' tarot card.
Have a look in the last room and then head back to Alyssa's room.
Back at the taror door, place the 'Hanged man' middle bottom.
'Moon' top right.
'Eye of Night' top left.
'Fool' middle right.
'High Priestess' middle left.
These are the positions for 'Normal settings' so if playing on easy or hard read the note for clues?
Now go through the door and follow the blood stained hallway until you reach some large doors at the other end.
After a short cut scene with Claudia, go over to her and use the small pendant that you've had since the beginning.
After the next cutscene, go to the hole in the floor and jump down for the Boss Finale.



God Boss.
---------

There are basically two ways of fighting the final Boss.

1. The Boss can only be damaged when it lays it's head on the floor.
Keep yourself fairly safe from attack over by the semi circle marked on the floor and then rush in and hit it with a melee weapon when it's heads down between attacks, or shoot and it from range if you have the ammo from directly in front, watching out for it's flame attack.
Keep using these tactics until eventually the boss is defeated.

2. There is a safer loophole method if you're low on ammo or health.
You can stand quite close to the monster just off to the side where the attacks can't hit you, then it's just a matter of running in and belting it when it's head is down until it's dead.
