Retro Game Walkthroughs for Time Crisis 3 (PlayStation 2)
Submitted By: KROC-AKA-COACH
Introduction

The highly anticipated third installment of Time Crisis is finally here. This baby is packed with extras-- new weapons, new challenges, new hotties, and more. Veterans will notice a new weapon select system where you can choose between grenades, shotgun, handgun, and machine gun. So grab your Guncon, cause we're goin' in.

Once again the world is plagued with an evil villain and once again they send just two operatives to take on an entire army plus four of the toughest bosses you've ever seen (one even emerges from the pits of hell with a vengeance to kill you).

We'll walk you through the game, screen by screen, telling you where to shoot, when to duck, and the secrets you'll need to help out VSSE operatives Alan Dunaway and Wesley Lambert to get through this grueling array of bullets, grenades, and the occasional claw.

So let's begin....

Basics

Calibration
The First Screen you will see when you start up the game is the Guncon 2 calibration screen. Look through the crosshairs and aim at the target on the screen (you might want to do this a few times just to get used to the gun). When you are ready just hit a button to continue.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Guns:
There are four guns to choose from, but only one of them has unlimited ammo.

Handgun: The good old default gun, usually good for the beginning of levels (if you're gonna use this gun a lot you need to master the *loose finger technique).
Shotgun: Good if you need to take out cars or boats quickly. Also takes down those pesky yellow and blue guys down without much hassle.
Machine Gun: One of the best guns in the game, lets you fire 200 shots. That's a lot of bullets.
Grenades: Great for taking out hordes of enemies, and even better for bosses.
*The loose finger technique is this, hold the gun in your left hand with your finger on the A button, now with your right hand, place your finger inside the hole with the trigger on the right, and smash it back and forth as fast as you can (good for bosses when you run out of ammo). Reload and repeat. This way you can use your handgun as a makeshift machine gun.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Life:
You lose a life each time you are shot, hit by a grenade or knife, or when your time limit reaches zero. You start with four lives at the beginning of the game and after each continue.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Time:
On each screen, you will get forty seconds to complete your carnage. Don't hide too much, cause when the timer counts down to zero, you'll lose a life.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Enemies:

Gray/Black: Normal enemies, will die with one shot.
White (Yellow Belts): Each shot that hits these guys will give you one floating weapon icon, which will automatically be added to your ammo reserves
Red: Most accurate, but also one of the weakest in the game, one shot does them in.
Blue: Usually shooting a big gun (grenade launcher) or throwing knives at you. One shot usually kills these boys too.
Yellow: These guys have a life meter above their heads and are a bitch to take down. It doesn't help that they aren't bad shots, either.
Bosses: Will vary, most have 3-5 screens where you have to kill them.... pretty tough too.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tips:

Always shoot the red enemies first, for they are the most accurate and most annoying.
Watch out for red rings around bullets, that means you're about to get hit.
Use the cut scenes, to clean the sweat off your hands (it gets intense, believe me)
In rescue mission mode, upgrade your weapons as quickly as possible

Walkthrough: Arcade Mode Stage One
One fateful day in the Mediterranean, the peaceful island of Astigos came under attack. General Giorgio Zott, Commander in Chief of the Zagorian Army, launched a unilateral military offensive against Astigos, a territory of the neighboring nation of Lukano. In a matter of a few months, the Zagorian Army's powerful troops had taken control, of the island.

Concerned over the motives behind Zott's strike against Astigos, the VSSE International Intelligence Agency launched an investigation, whereupon they learned that the Federation had placed tactical missiles in the occupied territory of Astigos capable of striking Lukano and other Mediterranean countries.

Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, the VSSE dispatched two of its best agents, Alan Dunaway and Wesley Lambert, to gather additional information on the General's activities...

...and this is where you fit in, sounds like a lot of work? Nah... it'll be easy (with our help). Now let's get it on!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Area One: Storm The Beach
If you skip the intro to this you don't miss much. Alan and Wesley blow up their boat and take to the beach on jet skis, where they dodge countless shots from enemy fire (and look great doing it) .... this is where you gain control of Alan.

The first screen is more of a practice screen than anything. The guys here are gray except for one white guy, which means they suck at shooting, and aren't all that tough to kill. Shoot them all with the handgun. The more shots you get off on each guy the bigger the combo. The bigger the combo the higher the score. Besides getting more points the more times you shoot a guy, the more times you shoot a white enemy the more ammo you'll be getting back. After they are all dead, you will be told to wait, which means noone can shoot you and you can't shoot anyone, and you'll move to the next screen

This is a good time to explain how to use your other three weapons. While you are hiding behind cover just pull the trigger to get a different weapon... use these sparingly though, because they can run out.

Now let's continue with the bloodshed. On the next screen shoot the yellow guy first, then just whittle away the gray and white enemies. On to the next screen where you see your first red enemy. You don't have to worry about the red guy aiming at your partner, as he won't bother you... but shoot him anyway. The red guy you need to worry about rolls into the bottom right corner. Shoot him immediately. Smoke the rest and move onto the next screen.

Coming into this one, equip the Machine Gun, take out the two gray men, then get ready to shoot the enemies with claws-- we'll just call them claw men. Shoot them as they leap into the air, then move on. Equip your handgun again. You actually don't have to do anything in this screen, considering the lighthouse falls and kills everyone. If you want, you can get some ammo, there's a white guy on the left side of the screen. Continue on. One yellow enemy here is as hard as it gets. Shoot the other enemies and move on. Here you come to another easy screen. Just shoot the red barrels, everyone dies, and move on once more. Get ready for a little game of picking off parachuters. If you think you have good enough aim, use your handgun, otherwise its up to you, you can pick the shotgun or the machine gun. Just mow down the parachuters, but as soon as they bring it down to land again, take out the blue enemy with the rocket launcher, then the yellow, then more parachuters, and its off to the trenches. Equip the handgun again, if you hadn't already.

Note: You can pick off objects blue enemies and some bosses throw, such as rockets, grenades, and some knives and daggers.

Three gray guys come out from behind the barrels. Take them out first, and move on. Now in this order, take the guys out.... blue, yellow, blue, then a red guy on the left, then a blue guy on the right, then finish off whoever else stands in your way. Now it's back into the trench. Four gray men, move, then six of them, then move again. After this, it'll be two gray, then a red enemy who shoots right away. Either duck or shoot him as soon as he pops out, then take out two more gray guys. Next screen. Start shooting at the gray guys, but as soon as you see the blue guy in the upper right, take him out, then come back down into the middle and a little right to take out the one-shot-wonder Mr. Red. Pick off the yellow guys with your shotgun and get ready to equip your grenades.

Boss: Missile Turret
Here we are at the first of the area bosses. A giant turret shooting missiles. It's shouldn't be a problem for you either... just time your attacks. Shoot a grenade as soon as you see it, then duck (go for the upper part of it). Wait for him to shoot, and don't worry about the enemies, they will die when you destroy the turret. After it fires, pop up again and fire another grenade at it. This should blow it up and kill everyone that's left (that is if you hit it both times). You've made it through area one. Kudos.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Area Two: The Abandoned Boat
Now the classic "jeeps chasing you into the abandoned boat scene". You and your partner Wesley run into it for cover... too bad it's crawling with enemies. Time to fight your way out.

The first part of the boat is pretty simple and straightforward. A few gray enemies, and a white one. Make them disappear and move on. Shoot about five gray guys, shoot the white guy running down the hall, then duck. A red guy is gonna pop out and try to shoot you from the right. Dodge it and kill him. Shoot the guy who jumps down from above. On we go. Equip your machine gun and make short work of the four guys on the screen. Here's where the machine gun comes in handy. Duck as soon as you kill those boys. After you see bullets fly by shoot the red guy. Duck again as a grenade and knife fly past. Then with one big sweep, take everyone out. Use your machine gun on the truck that pulls up and it will take out everyone. A few grenades drop and along we go.

Now we're in the boiler room, and it starts to get a little more difficult. You can keep the machine gun equipped. Kill everyone in this room, but beware, a red guy jumps out from the bottom right. As soon as you see him, duck. Then finish him off and move on. Shoot the middle drum of chemicals and everyone dies. Next screen.

Note: Whenever you see a guy holding a bulletproof shield, aim for his feet, they are still vulnerable, and it will kill him all the same (the shotgun works best)

Now that you know how to deal with guys holding shields, do so. Keep your shotgun out and kill the blue guy with the missile launcher, and the red guy in one shot (they'll be in the middle). Onward. Equip the Handgun again and kill the two gray enemies. Use the "loose finger technique" on the car that crashes through the wall. Then continue on. Take out the yellow guy in the middle and the rocket-launching blue guy on the box near the right. Then all the gray guys. Then the knife throwing blue guy in the middle. Equip the shotgun or machine gun. Kill the two yellow enemies that storm out of the box on the right. Then be quick and shoot the red guy that jumps into the middle.

Next screen. Take out the two flamethrowing blue guys in the middle. Then in this order: guy on the left, guy in the middle, white guy in upper right corner, then red guy in bottom right. Move. All of the enemies in the next screen are normal guys but one. Take them out as they come up. The only one you should look out for is the red guy; he pops up right behind the front box at the bottom of the screen after you kill a couple of gray guys (be careful in this area not to shoot your partner or it will be -1000 points). Cut scene.

The boss decides to kill you whatever the cost (even if it means his troops), so he drops a bomb on the old ship, and well, she starts to go down.

Get ready, and equip your machine gun. Kill the gray guys on the sides. Then mow down the red and yellow guys that leap out in the middle. In this screen the boat starts sinking. Don't worry we won't let you drown. No one can really hit you in the next scene, but keep your machine gun equipped and take out as many enemies as you can. This is the last screen of Area Two, so just shoot as many of the white guys as possible (with the machine gun if you still have ammo). There's just one red guy in the middle to shoot. That's it, now we're off to fry this bastard that tried to sink you.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Area Three: Car Chase
Again, if you skip the movie sequence you miss little....you jump into a jeep that is being driven by a gorgeous Alicia Winston (she'll explain herself better later) just as that maniac blows up the ship. The car chase on the docks of quiet little Astigos.

Equip your machine gun. Take out the machine gun on the bottom of the plane that's following you. Now drop the upper left rocket launcher and then the upper right one (shooting down any missiles heading for you). Now its time for some jeep thashin'. Equip that shotgun you've got. Aim for the cars with the shotgun. There are two right away, take those down (if you run out of ammo use the machine gun). Gun down a few more (if you see any white enemies riding on the car, take them down first, then shoot the car). Just keep on mowing the cars down.

Boss: Attack Plane
Eventually, you'll see the shadow of the plane fly over. This is when you equip the grenades. As soon as the side of the plane starts to open up, fire a grenade into the middle of all the "shoot" icons. This should take care of all the guns on that side. Quickly equip your handgun again. Take out the white enemy on the side of the plane, and then the one that pokes his head over the top. Equip your grenades again. Do the same thing to the guns on this side of the plane. Quickly equip your machine gun and get ready to let a stream of bullets fly at the boss. You can usually take his life down right away but duck if necessary. Keep 'er equipped and take out everyone who comes out of the back. He'll open up a hatch in the side of the plane and you'll have to cream him again with the machine gun (ducking is necessary this time). Shoot up five more cars, including one packed with white enemies. Then it's back to the plane do the same as before, shoot duck, shoot.

Soon, some of his baddies come out. Take them down with the machine gun or shotgun as well (there are three of them). The boss comes back out packing the biggest gun ever. You can't shoot him where his gun is so pick out a leg and whittle away his life. You might need to do a little shoot, duck, shoot again. Now equip your grenades and let him have it. Two of those and a couple of shotgun shots will take him down before he can hit you. If you miss, repeat the process. Finally, he's dead, his plane crashes, and it's all over…. for now. Now it's explanation time, and time for a new stage.

Walkthrough: Arcade Mode Stage Two

Area One: Into The Deserted City
As you walk through the beautiful village of Astigos, you get ambushed yet again. Can't a mercenary even get a latte without being assaulted? You never get a break.

Right off the bat, equip your machine gun. You'll be getting all your ammo back anyway. Blow up the jeep, then work on getting more ammo off the white enemies. Move. Now you'll be behind what looks vendor carts. For the next three screens here's what you'll want to do. Use your machine gun and take out everyone who runs into the screen on both sides. It'll feel like you're wasting ammo, but you're not. Also, take out the plants and baskets so you can see easier.

Now it's up the stairs we go. Shoot the yellow enemy first. Beware of the red guy behind the wall, duck when you see him. Pick off the gray guys and go up the stairs again. Aim for the knee of the enemy with a shield. Duck when the claw man comes, and get ready to shoot the red guy that jumps out sideways from the right. Finish running up the stairs, take out the guys with shields, and duck when the red enemy jumps out from behind the upper railing. Up, up, up, past the patio furniture we go. A few yellow enemies are the only worries you'll have here. Dispose of them and continue on your way. Take out your machine gun, then take out four gray enemies, a blue knife thrower and a red sharpshooter. Then it's a guy launching missiles and a guy loaded with ammo. Now head back to your right. Kill the red enemy, then the two yellow ones, and whatever else is left. You're almost there, just keep truckin'. The shotgun works good on the next screen, so equip it. Take three shots with it and that should do it (you'll be looking straight down). Run across the plank. Reequip your handgun and make short work of the people outside the door. Then kill everyone who runs out. Take the left staircase and make your way up.

Note: The Enemies in the next few screens are very, very accurate, so you should pop up and shoot one guy at a time.

All the enemies come in from the left so take them all down. This includes the two equipped with shields; aim for their feet or knees to kill them fast. Move again, remembering the note we included above. This is where that comes in very handy. Destroy the red enemy first in the middle, then the two on the perimeter. The screen scrolls on up. Take out the two on the top first, as they are the most accurate. Then work on the three men in the middle. Run some more, then kill a few gray guys, and the view pans left. The three guys on the left should be your first concern, then work all the guys on the right. Then you should equip your machine gun and mow down everyone else in the vicinity. Move right and aim your machine gun up to quickly get rid of any guys above you. Run along until it says action again, and equip your handgun. You'll be shooting upside down so take out the five guys quickly and jump down. Ahhh… right side up again. Equip your shotgun and get ready to take down a few cycles. There are six of them and with your shotgun it will only take you 2-3 shots to bring them down. It's handgun time again. Reemerge and take out the blue rocket launcher man on the top right, the the two other guys in the middle. After that, it goes in this order: the guy closest to you on your right, then the red enemy up top in the middle, then whoever else you feel needs a little pain. Get your shotgun out once more and it's three more cycles 'til ya finish er off. That ends round one.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Area Two: The Waterfall
The mission takes a detour now through a riverbed/waterfall. Get ready right away by equipping your handgun (if it isn't equipped already). A slew of gray guys and a blue guy are your only concern here. Move. Naturally, kill the red enemy first then the gray ones, and pan to the right. Get rid of the red enemy first again, then the few gray ones left. Then move again.

The next screen consists of all one-hit kills. They all pose no threat to you except maybe a red enemy that wanders in from the left. Be sure to take him down right away. After killing everyone, advance to the next screen. You will want to take out your machine gun for the next few screens. Start off by killing the blue enemy with the flamethrower, then yellow. After this, there will be an array of blue and yellow guys that run onto the screen. Take them all out as they come. After you're finished with them and you finally move again, you can switch back to the handgun.

Next screen. Kill the yellow enemies here. The rest should be a walk in the park for you by now, except for the red enemy who pops up behind the rock on your right. Duck when you see him. Move to another screen. Shoot the shield wielding enemies first, then quickly shoot the red enemy behind them. Quickly get down when you see a claw man jump out of the water. Get back up and pump him full of lead before moving on. Aim for the blue knife thrower and quickly get rid of another claw man when he pops out of the water. Shoot a few more gray and blue guys as you move right. Then it's one more yellow enemy until you move again.

Shoot all the guys that appear in the next screen including a claw man who jumps in from your left. As you move you see two more claw men jump out of the water. Just stay down until it's safe, then pop up and start shooting like mad. After you kill them, move again and it's more of your masterful handgun shooting. A few gray guys and a red enemy that pops up in the water are all that's here. The screen will pan again, and with your loose finger technique take out the box marked "danger". It will kill the yellow enemies loading their guns. Turn around and walk a little ways before shooting some more horrible men.

There is really nothing to worry about in the next few screens as long as you're quick on the trigger. Even the red guys take a little bit longer shooting here. After three screens and what seems like twenty enemies, you finally start getting to the waterfall. Make your way there and quickly shoot the claw man and blue guy. Pan right. Get some ammo from the white enemy, then kill the gray and red enemies. The next part is a little tricky. You will want to kill the knife throwing guy first. He appears on the right side of the screen behind a rock. Then just stay down and you'll advance a screen or two, until you can see little subs equipped with machine guns emerging. Quickly get your grenades out (by now you should have five). One grenade will take out a sub. So take out the first two you see. Take out two more, but remember to duck when claw guys jump up next to you. Take out the next one that emerges. You're now out of grenades so equip your shotgun. Make the next two disappear quickly and get ready for Area Three. You're done here now.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Area Three: All Aboard The Train
Rushing as fast as you possibly can, you finally catch the train just as it's departing. Too bad for you, the train is filled with bad guys. Time for them to meet their match.

Climb onto the train to begin your killing spree. Get yourself some ammo by killing the white enemies. Then get ready to kill some claw guys (your shotgun levels them with one shot). Take out a couple red enemies, and get ready to turn around. Shoot the yellow enemies first and then a couple gray guys. As soon as you see a pair of claw guys come hopping along, get ready to shoot the red enemy that pops out from behind the first train car. Finish off the next two claw guys. Move to the top of the train car. You're gonna wanna kill the two blue enemies throwing grenades, then take out yet another claw man. Remember that you can shoot the grenades to avoid being hit. After killing them, smoke a yellow enemy that drops down, and two more blue enemies with rocket launchers.

Boss: Claw Daddy
It's time for another great boss fight. He is always with a couple yellow claw men, so take them down right away. Equip your machine gun and aim for the two yellow guys when they run at you. After killing them, the boss will land right in front of you so just take him down with your machine gun. The claw boss decides he'll blow up the train tracks with a missile. Right after this happens, the train starts to go down. Get ready to shoot some more evil-doers. Looking down into the ravine, you'll see a few enemies holding onto the train. Have no mercy and pick them off. Turn around and kill the rest that are hanging on. Then duck quickly as to not get hit by a train car. Kill the other two enemies and crawl up. Then it's four more bad guys, and up again. Take out the two yellow claw men with your shotgun. Do the same to the boss when you see him again. He'll go onto another life bar. Shoot him with the grenade launcher when he's standing still again. This will take off another life bar. Equip your machine gun and let him have in the back after you move, you should be able to take him down another life bar before he moves again. Keep on shooting him and his yellow assistants with the machine gun. Duck when the yellow guys jump in front of you, otherwise you'll kill them soon. Equip your shotgun if you run out of machine gun ammo. He'll be on his last health bar, and it won't take you more than a few well placed shots to kill him. He falls down the canyon to his death. It's time now to make your way up the mountain.

Walkthrough: Arcade Mode Stage Three

Area One: Infiltration
When we finally catch up with Alicia's brother Daniel, we find out that he is being held captive by the evil General Giorgio Zott. You agree to help her save him like the heroes you are, and you rush onto the scene guns blazing.

Alright, let's begin. Get your handy handgun out and start shooting. Take out all the gray enemies and the few white ones that appear as well. Move on. Time to snipe some people off the tower. Quickly kill the yellow enemy on the left side of the tower. Next off, kill the one on the right, then the four guys on the top. Dispatch the two red enemies near the ground, and finally the two blue guys tossing grenades. After doing this, the building explodes and you advance to the next screen. Wait for the red enemy to pop up and shoot him first, then it's between the yellow enemy facing you, or the blue guy tossing grenades. Whatever you decide to do, do it fast. Then quickly take out everyone else.

Note: Enemies in Stage Three are much more accurate than you are used to, so be cautious.

Run up the stairs quickly to get away from the tank. There are two great ways to destroy the tanks. You can use the shotgun, or grenades. You don't have all that many grenades, and you might want to save them, so your best bet would be using the shotgun. Equip it and get ready to fire. You might want to take out the yellow enemy sitting on the tank first, considering he is very accurate. After moving, get ready to fire at another tank. They usually take about five shots to bring down, so be speedy. After blowing up the second tank, reequip your handgun. Shoot a red guy on the right, a yellow guy in the middle and a few gray guys scattered about. Then it's time to advance again. In this order shoot: blue, gray, gray, red, red, white. Look up and get ready to shoot a bit more. You can actually just duck the entire next two screens if you don't want to get hit. Equip your machine gun and get ready to mow down a few people. Level two red and blue enemies as they criss-cross across the screen. Move again and clear out everyone you see. Do the same in the next screen... it's really easy.

Boss: Wild Dog and Wild Fang
Here's hoping you saved some ammo, cause you're in for a double boss fight…. with Wild Dog, and Wild Fang. If you've ever played Time Crisis 2, you know this guy was a bitch to bring down, and believe me, they made him just as hard. In fact, they made him a little harder. The reason he's harder? He has an apprentice that enjoys kicking heavy objects at you. Well believe it or not there's actually an easy way of taking them down if you know their pattern. Get ready, wipe the sweat off your hands, and get in there because these guys take a little bit longer than usual.

Equip your handgun-- yes that's right, your handgun. Remember that loose finger technique we explained at the beginning? This is the perfect time to use it. We'll just abbreviate it into LFT so you'll know when to use it. Use it on Wild Dog first. As soon as he loses his first health bar he runs away. Now use it on Wild Fang. You might have to duck once or twice, depending on how fast you can shoot like this. Move. Shoot the guys behind the shields. Then duck because Wild Fang is going to kick a box at you.

Shoot Wild Dog when you can see him using your LFT, then Wild Fang. That's another life bar. Go right, shoot the red enemy first then concentrate on whoever is closer, Wild Dog or Wild Fang. Take them both down again using LFT. Then it's time to move. Take out Wild Fang fast on the next screen, then duck while Wild Dog shoots at you. Come back out guns blazing and take him down. Chase them through some more giant boxes. You can take them both out quickly again here, then follow them again to the next area.

This one's a little harder. Stay behind your box until you can't hear the flamethrower anymore, then come out and take down Wild Dog. Then take out Wild Fang. The next screen is supper easy, shoot Wild Fang immediately. Reload. Then shoot Wild Dog, and move on. Shoot Wild Fang, then duck behind the boxes. Wait for Wild Dog to appear again, and smoke him (every time you should be using the LFT on these guys). Chase them and duck immediately after popping out. Wild Fang will try to kick you. Shoot him til he's dead, then concentrate your fire on Wild Dog. You might have to duck once.

Now it's a screen of easy enemies. Kill them all and continue. Shoot Wild Fang, but watch out for the box he kicks at the beginning, then take out Wild Dog. The next screen is four easy enemies. Do them in and move again. Equip your machine gun and take both bosses down quick again. Run into the middle of the screen. Take out Wild Dog when appears on the side of the box. Shoot Wild Fang as he runs to the left. Then it's four more easy enemies. Get rid of Wild Dog first, and then time your attacks on Wild Fang so you shoot him in between kicking stuff at you. Now it's time to kill Wild Fang. Aim at him when he's on top of the blocks. Duck when he jumps at you. Then finish off another life bar when he's running left. Get your shotgun out so when he appears in front of you it will take two shots to kill him. Finally you've killed that pansy-kicking, puberty-voiced sissy. Now for his master. Five shots of your shotgun should take him down a life bar. Now your grenades come in handy. Two grenades will kill him. You've killed Wild Dog for the second time in the span of two games. It's time for Area Two. Let's get going.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Area Two: Into The Missile Base
When you arrive at the scene Giorgio Zott has a gun to Daniel's head (Alicia's brother). He tells you to drop your gun but not before Alicia snipes the gun out of his hand from above. Now it's time to chase him into the missile facility.

Equip your handgun. There are about eight guys here that won't be a problem for you at all. Just kill them and move down the hall. Shoot the men with shields, then the various gray guys that jump out, then concentrate your fire on the back door. A couple of red enemies will come out. Kill them immediately, then dispatch a claw man and a couple more red enemies. After beating them, move further down the hall.

Into the meeting room we go. Kill the shield-carrying guy first, then the red guy that pops out from the right, then all of the other red enemies in the middle of the screen. You'll take out a bunch of easy one-shot enemies, then a yellow enemy. Scroll to the left. Smoke a couple of ammo-carrying white guys, then a yellow. Now scroll back right. There's a red enemy and a few yellow guys. Then the door busts open and you kill two more yellow men. Kill the shield bearing men. It's finally time for another screen. The ceiling explodes and you have to take out men behind a pile of rubble. No one is too hard here, just two yellow enemies near the end of your firing. Equip your shotgun. Just take everyone as they pop out. This area has a lot of enemies so just be on your toes, duck often, and use a powerful gun. After you finally kill everyone in this room, this Area is over. It's time for the last Area, and the final boss fight.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Area Three: The Final Fight
Take out the Giorgio's first life bar with the LFT. Then equip your machine gun and take out a few yellow and white enemies. Take out the boss again with a quick burst of machine gun fire. Concentrate your fire after this on a few gray enemies, and a red one that pops out of the box on the right. After this the boss jumps back into the screen. You'll have to duck twice or three times in between shooting him.

He then jumps up onto a bridge. Shoot the two yellow enemies next to him then the two down at ground level. Move back up and shoot the two blue enemies, and the red two enemies as well (this can be a little tricky, so be patient). Finish Zott's next life bar with the shotgun. Move over to the computers, and reequip your handgun. Kill the claw men that jump at you right off the bat, the red enemy on the left. After that, it's a bunch of easy one-timers and a yellow enemy until you see Giorgio again. Duck when you see him and equip your shotgun. He takes about six shots to take down. Quickly head towards the stairs... you're almost there. You should keep the shotgun equipped and take Zott's life down again with a few shots when you see him. Shoot the enemies off the stairs, but beware of the red enemy lurking to your right. Finally head up the stairs. On the next screen, shoot the yellow and red enemies first then move on to shoot the white and gray one.

Note: You are nearing the end of your mission, so you don't need to be so cautious about ammunition anymore.

Take out everyone on the bridge, then head down onto it. Equip your machine gun to make short work of all the enemies on the boxes in this area. Be careful not to get hit by a red enemy near the middle of the boxes. Otherwise you should be alright. Move again. Now you should see some giant trucks with what looks like an electric current ray on each. Take these bad boys out with two grenades each. The next one you see you should shoot one grenade at, then whittle the remaining life down with your machine gun. After you've done that, it's time to take that lunatic Giorgio Zott down once and for all. Use whatever you have left in your arsenal of weapons. Take him down with a few well placed hits. Now sit back, and enjoy your well earned ending.

THE END….. or is it?

After beating the game for he first time you unlock the Rescue Mission.

Walkthrough: Rescue Mission

Now that you've unlocked the rescue mission, it's time to go in and rip it to shreds. This is a one player game where you are in control of Alicia Winston. In this version, you also have the ability to use a sniper rifle (which we'll explain later). The rescue mission consists of fourteen separate stages. While they might all be a little shorter than normal stages, they are also a lot harder. In rescue mode you are rewarded for using your secondary weapons. In this mode of gameplay, you can level up our weapons into better versions of them.

Example: Let's say you are using your shotgun. You start off with a weak version of a shotgun, with 20 bullets (called SHOTGUN 1). The level-up bar is right above the name of the gun, it is displayed in yellow. When it reaches its maximum capacity, you'll get full ammo again, and it will be 30 bullets (the name will also change from SHOTGUN 1 to SHOTGUN 2). Along with it going up in the number of bullets your gun can carry, it also goes up in strength. You'll see your bullets change as well. So use your secondary weapons as much as possible, it will really help you out in the last few stages of the game.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stage One: Storm The Beach
You'll be in control of Alicia, the hotty from the Arcade version. In this game you're actually doing your own thing in order to help out the VSSE operatives. So when you saw Alicia in the original arcade version, you'll be playing her. While in control of her, you'll meet up with Alan and Wesley from time to time (at the points in the arcade version when you saw her).

Time to get into it. Equip your shotgun immediately. Let's level it up and show you how that works. Shoot everyone you see on the screen with one shot from the shotgun. Then move on. Get ready to blast the claw men that jump out at you (they go down with one shotgun shot). Come out immediately and shoot both of them. Then kill the enemies running at you. Your shotgun should be leveled up by now. Now equip your machine gun. It's a lot crappier than the one you used in arcade mode. It only fires in short bursts so get used to it quick, or you'll be getting shot a lot. Kill a whole slew of gray guys and a red enemy. Then move again. On the next screen shoot as many enemies as you can including the two red ones on the right (use the shotgun again). Equip grenades (notice you only get two). Use one after the boat lands. Use it to hit the back part of the boat. Shoot anyone that's left, then take out your shotgun and gun down the claw men. Shoot everyone in the next screen, making sure you look out for the red enemy that pops out from behind the boat. Move again and get your grenades out. One good shot should take out everyone. Then all that's left is two easy screens and you're done with Stage One.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stage Two: Sniper Lessons
This will be the first time you use the sniper rifle, so here's how it works. Instead of popping out to shoot an enemy, you zoom in to shoot one. Keep in mind, while zoomed in enemies can target and shoot you as well, and you only get three bullets. So use this first stage to get used to the controls. They aren't too hard but you might want to get closer to the old television if you are awful at this. The first screen has four people to take out. Take them out along with any spotlights that you see. Move on. The next screen has seven, and a barrel you can explode. On we go. The final screen has thirteen enemies and three spotlights to shoot (you don't need to shoot the spotlights, but it helps them not see you as well as getting extra points and practice with the gun).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stage Three: Heading Through Town
Now it's into the facility for some information gathering. After Alicia gets done with that she gets some information from VSSE, and on Alan and Wesley, so she'll know who to help. Continue on to help them out the best you can. This is the first stage where you'll be dealing with civilians.

Note: Shooting a civilian will result in a loss of one life.

This can be a little tricky, and there are only two viable tactics. The first way is waiting until all the civilians run past and get out of the way. This eats up a lot of time and doesn't always work the best. The second way to deal is to be a great marksman, it's kind of obvious, but it's harder than it sounds. Let's get started.

Wait until everyone leaves on the first part, then shoot a grenade into the middle of all of the enemies. The next two screens consist of sharp-shooting on your part, just be quick and look out for civilians. After you finish these two, equip your shotgun. Take out as many enemies as possible before the civilians start running by. Then after they finish running around like crazies, shoot the rest of the enemies and equip either your handgun or machine gun. As the screen scrolls right take out enemies one by one, ducking after each few. Finally you'll see a jeep pull up, wait for everyone to leave, and shoot it with a grenade to end this stage.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stage Four: Rescuing Alan And Wesley
You should remember this part from the arcade version you just got done playing. You save Alan and Wesley from getting blown up, and besides driving the jeep for them, you also help destroy everything around you. You are a golden god.

The level starts out with you killing about nine bikers. The shotgun and grenades work the best, and they level up fast killing bikers. After destroying them, you move on to taking out the boss on the plane. Use the machine gun to take him out fast. Take out a few more enemies on the plane before the boss emerges again. This time he's packing a rocket launcher. Either pick off the rockets, or just come up in between them to fire on him. Finally when you've taken him down a notch, some more jeeps and bikers will come out to play. Make short work of them with whatever you have left in your arsenal. Then it's back to the plane. Take the boss down again before he has a chance to hit you. Duck immediately after this, as he throws his giant gun at you. Stay down until you see the wing of the ship. Then take it out with a few well placed shots off your shotgun (watch out for the enemies on the ship, they are extremely accurate). Take out a few more enemies on the top of the plane. When you get to the next wing finish it off, and move around to the back. Shoot two enemies, then aim at the boss. Use anything that will take him down fast. You'll have to duck a least once to avoid getting shot. Come back up and finish him off. Nice shooting. Let's head to the next Stage.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stage Five: Back Through Town
You head back into the city with your newly acquired friends, only to be ambushed and fight your way out of the city to the train station.

Equip anything you want for now. There are three screens of easy shooting before you get to anything hard. Get your grenades ready as soon as you see a jeep. One hit should take 'er out. Move after that and equip your machine gun. Take out the yellow enemies, then the red ones. Do the same on the next screen. The next area you come to you'll want to take out the two blue enemies equipped with rocket launchers. After that, take out the blue guy tossing grenades in the middle and the red enemy on the left. Then it's free reign, just kill everyone else.

Move and take out the three yellow enemies, along with a red one on the right. Then it's just easy old gray guys. Equip your shotgun to take out the two men with shields, then a red enemy in the middle. After that, it's a guy with a rocket launcher in the center of the screen, a few more gray enemies. Then get ready to put a hole in the blue enemy with the flame thrower on the right. Time to move again. Your shotgun is your best friend on the next screen. It's full of claw men. Take them out one by one as they jump at you. Then it's seven more enemies before getting to the boss of this stage. The boss being a giant tank. Get your grenades out and fire away. After grenades are through, use your shotgun, and if you run out of that, use a machine gun. You should be able to take it down before it's even a threat to you. It's time for another sniping stage now.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stage Six: City Sniping
This stage is pretty straightforward. If you can't find an enemy to snipe, try to trace where the bullets are coming from. In the first screen you have eight people to shoot. In the following screen it's eight again. There are also some wooden barrels in the upper left corner you can shoot for some extra points. The next screen has ten enemies to snipe. And that clears the stage.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stage Seven: Chasing Down Jake
You see the other captor Jake. He tells you he managed to escape, but your brother Daniel didn't. As you have our back turned he pulls a gun on you. He's the one that turned your brother in. Now for some revenge. With some quick kung-fu like moves you get your gun back, and start chasing that good for nothing Jake down.

Start by equipping your shotgun. Shoot Jake twice to make him start running. Keep that gun out and on the next two screens, do away with everyone. It should be easy, no one should be able to hit you. That isn't the case on the third screen though. You have to be careful. There's a blue enemy in the middle and a red one in the top left of the screen. Then you have to be careful to not get hit by Jake's gunfire. After he runs, you'll follow him. Take out a yellow enemy and two gray ones. Then duck while the claw guy jumps through. All that's left after that is a blue enemy on a balcony.

When you enter the next area Jake has himself a hostage. We'll worry about this in a second. First shoot everyone else on the screen, then aim for his upper left, near his head, a machine gun should take him down fast, otherwise use your handgun. Next you'll need to equip your shotgun and shoot everyone off the top of that building. There's five of them. Kill three more enemies including a red one that pops up just right of you. Run along to the next screen. You'll want to wait just a tad in the next screen, while some civilians run away. After that, shoot the seven enemies on this screen including a blue enemy with a rocket launcher and a red sharpshooter to the right again. Onward we go. Kill a few yellow guys, and a knife-throwing blue enemy. After that, make your way to the left and blow up the two trucks. One grenade on each will do, then use two more grenades on the enemies that ran out.

Jake has a hostage on the next screen. Just aim for his head to take him down quickly. Drop the red guy on the left first after that, then the blue and yellow enemies. Move close to take him out for good. Four shotgun shots should take him down in no time. Jake escapes in a jeep, and you have no time to follow him. It's time to head to the train.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stage Eight: Onboard The Train
Now it's on to the train. This locomotive isn't as easy as the other one. Shoot everyone in the first screen to get more ammo. Move to the left. Smoke everyone starting with the two claw men. Then get ready to take out the enemies that jump out of the first train car to your right. After that, finish off the gray enemies. Then it's a claw man, and a blue grenade tosser, before you move back to the left. Shoot the few annoying gray enemies in this screen the claw man, followed by a blue enemy with a flame thrower. After that, it's a red guy and some white enemies full of ammo. Then it's another claw man and a red guy before you face the boss.

Take the left side rocket launcher out right away with a grenade. Then wait for it to go over you. Use your machine gun to take out everyone else until you can shoot the right rocket launcher. Use another grenade on that. Wait for it to go over you again. Shoot five more enemies, and get ready to shoot another grenade. You should be able to take the middle three machine guns out with one to two grenades. Once you've done that, you've crippled the machine and you can move on.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stage Nine: Mountainside Sniping
Sniping on the mountainside is a little difficult. But we here at IGN have faith in you, so let's go. Now, Ready….aim….fire. The first screen consists of thirteen baddies to shoot. The next screen has nine. Shoot the truck if you can, one shot will do. Then when the boat goes by, shoot the explosives in the rear. The final screen has ten. After that, you meet up with Alan and Wesley to track up the mountain on foot.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stage Ten: Storming The Base
Guess it's time for a little rescue mission. Blast away the first few screens with your shotgun. Remember your shotgun can go through the brick pillars in the middle of the screens. Finally, you make it to three giant metal pipes. Just keep on using your shotgun/machine gun and no one should be a problem on these screens. Moving on. Just blow up the car to make this a quick kill. Then move again. Shoot everyone who jumps out from behind the big box, or rolls in front of it. Kill a blue enemy and a gray one and advance again. On the next three, just watch out for a couple random red enemies, otherwise just keep trucking and blowing people away.

When you get to a claw man shoot him with your shotgun, it should only take one shot. Then there's a blue and gray guy to kill, and you'll scroll left. Immediately kill the flame-throwing enemy along the left side of the screen. Get your machine gun out and make little work of everyone else in the vicinity. No one should be able to touch you. Then it's three more screens that you just dominate with your machine gun. When you get to the three enemies with shields halt and equip your shotgun. You should be able to take them out rather fast. Then quickly aim upwards and kill the four enemies up there. Then its two more yellow guys and you're on your way. That's it for Stage Ten.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stage Eleven: Saving Your Brother
In this stage, you have five seconds to shoot the gun out of Giorgio Zott's hand. To make it a little harder, they only give you one bullet. Good luck... this is all skill. After shooting it out of his hand, you go down to check on your brother. He tells you to go get the others (meaning the rest of the resistance). So go on now, do as your brother says. He'll meet up with you later.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stage Twelve: Saving Your Comrades
This is by far one of the hardest levels in the game. Get ready to use everything you've learned along the way to get here. Alright, first things first, equip your handgun. Shoot the four gray guys, then the two yellow ones. Scroll right. Kill another yellow guy, and a blue enemy with a rocket launcher. Then finish off the gray and white enemies before scrolling back to the left. Then it's a couple more blue enemies and a red one in the top right corner. Clean up the rest of the guys. Now move again.

Shoot the two guys with shields, and the blue guy chucking knives at you. Then do away with a red enemy in the upper left. Move left. Shoot the blue guy, the yellow enemy and the remaining easy to kill enemies. Now its up to you to free your fellow army men. Shoot the doors where it says "shoot". Behind one of the doors is one of your men. When you shoot a door it opens releasing a guy (some doors are empty though). Make sure you don't accidentally shoot your guy as well, or it will take a life away from you. Let's free some prisoners. Shoot everyone trying to guard the doors, then when you have a free moment shoot the doors open and let your man escape. Now run to the left and open up the right side of doors. Kill everyone you see starting with the yellow enemy, and ending with the gray. Take out all the blue enemies at the end of the hall along with the annoying claw man making his way towards you. Use the machine gun in the next room, but watch out for a red enemy that jumps sideways into the room from the left. Keep it equipped and take everyone out in the next room as well.

Back to the handgun for the next screen. Try shooting everyone as they appear and you'll have it under control. Move once more. The next screen is easy except for a blue enemy with a flame thrower, so take him out as soon as he arrives. Run down the corridor to the next area. Shoot a few enemies off the roof, then look down. You're going to want to free one of your men in this next screen, so take out everyone (the shield-holding wimps first). Then you're free to shoot the door before moving right. Equip your shotgun and have yourself a little killing spree in the next room. Then move on.

Do the same in the next room as well. You should have your shotgun t level five by now. So taking enemies is no problem. Continue using it in the next few areas. When you come to a screen where you can shoot more doors, kill everyone in the room with the shotgun, then equip your machine gun, and shoot the first door on the left. A red enemy will come out holding your man as a shield. Duck to miss the first shot he fires, shoot him in the head to release your man. Continue down the hall a little ways. On the right there are some more doors. Shoot everyone, then the doors, and leave this area. Be cautious in the next room. The enemies here are all really good shots, so feel free taking a little more time to kill them, finally shooting open the door on the right. Two of your men run out along with a red enemy, and that clears this stage.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stage Thirteen: Take Out Jake
This might just be the hardest stage in the game so be VERY careful. First off, you're gonna want to conserve some ammo, so use your handgun whenever possible. Shoot the three red enemies, then concentrate on the machine gun on the plane. After that, take out the gray guys and the left propeller. Duck to avoid getting hit with a claw. Run to a new area. Pick off everyone on the top of the plane, then take out the red enemy with the shield. Then it's taking down a life bar on Jake with your shotgun. Two well-placed grenades take out the propeller and machine guns in the next area. Scroll to the right and take out the red enemy waiting to shoot you. Jake throws some knives that barely miss you.

Now run to the bottom of the stairs. Pick enemies on the stairs off one by one. Then go up them. Shoot a couple more enemies, including a nasty little claw man. Go forward until you can see the top of the plane. Shoot a few guys on the ground and then put a hole in another claw man that tries to take a swipe at you. Take out anyone you can see on the top of the plane then equip the shotgun and go to town on Jake as he runs across the screen. All you need to do for the next part is stay down while the plane moves around. Finally it will stop and you can jump down safely. Take out a whole slew of enemies here. They are all really excellent shots so don't take too long destroying them. Then take out your shotgun or machine gun and drop Jake as quickly as you can (being cautious at the same time). After that, you'll have to take him down another life bar. Do it the same as before. Then it's a few enemies. Then Jake again. Take him down the same as before. Do it one more time to end this stage.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stage Fourteen: Shoot The Detonator
Jake has armed the bomb, and it's your job to shot the detonator out of his hand, so get ready to snipe that sucker out. Like before you only have five seconds on the clock and one bullet. Nothing like making you sweat a little. With one blow you not only shoot the detonator out of his hand, but also shoot him clear through the head. That just about wraps it up for little Alicia. Now it's time to mop up the mess the Zagorian army made.

Now that you've beaten both Arcade Mode, and Rescue Mission, you should have a new opening screen. Besides that you've just unlocked a whole new mission again. Crisis Mission.

Walkthrough: Crisis Missions

In this section of the game you have the choice to go through six days of VSSE training. Each day they will put you through seven missions. If you clear each of them, then you get an extra mission. The point of these missions is to clear a certain objective. Here's an example:

Example: Day 1
Mission 1: Defeat all 30 enemies
Time Limit: 50 seconds
Guns: Handgun (unlimited)

Underneath all this information is a silver medal and a gold medal. Each medal has a number by it. This is the score you need in order to get these medals. By getting medals you have a chance to unlock certain parts of the game. Here's another example.

Example:
Silver Medal: 51000
Gold Medal: 66000

You'll go through a total of six days with eight missions in each day. That adds up to 48 missions total. As you progress on in your VSSE training it gets much harder, so remember the tactics that got you to this point... and good luck!
