Retro Game Walkthroughs for Full Auto (Xbox 360)
Submitted By: Hannard
Full Auto, the new roadblasters style racing game/shoot-em-up has recently hit 360 and while you can't really do a walkthrough for a racing game, here are a few handy tips.

No fair!

The first thing to realize about Full Auto is that the computer cheats. Yes, it's hardly very sporting, but the game features something known as 'rubber banding'. Essentially, the position of the enemy cars is linked to your own car's position. If you get too far away from them, the computer will magically teleport them to within range of your own position. This is why you'll never find yourself lapping an enemy car. And why you can end up being overtaken at the finish line by a car that suddenly comes from nowhere. The only way to deal with this annoyance is to keep a boost in reserve for use when you're close to the finish line, or just play online against human players. Yes, this 'feature' sucks, but there's no way of turning it off.

Fire! Fire! Fire!

Try to be constantly using your weapons, even if there's no-one in immediate range of them. Hitting objects will give you extra wreck points, and there's always a chance your rear weapons will take out an opponent who's just out of sight. There are several weapons to choose from, but the best set is the 'assault' pairing of machine guns and rear mines. Missiles are damaging but you have a better chance of scoring damage with the fast firing machine guns.

Sometimes they come back.

While blowing up opposing cars will get you points, the cars won't disappear permanently, and will come back. If you get the chance to take out your rivals while they're in front of you, great, but don't slow down just to get them.

Turn back time

Every time you shoot, smash or drive into an object, your unwreck meter will be topped up. The unwreck meter can be used to reverse time, allowing you to undo particularly nasty crashes. Given how much carnage goes on in the game, it's a good chance your meter will be full most of the time. So put it to good use, and don't just use it when you have a crash. Seconds count in Full Auto, so if you take a corner badly, rewind and try it again. Or if an opponent sneaks past you, hit the rewind button and block their path this time round.

Vandalism isn't clever.

While it may be tempting smash into and blow up everything in your path, unless your unwreck meter needs topping up, it often isn't worth the hassle. Smashing into objects will slow you down, and the vital seconds you lose could give your opponents the chance to get past you. Concentrate on shooting your opponents if they happen to be in front of you - you'll get more wreck points that way, especially if you managed to blow up a specially marked rival.

Racing form.

Pay attention to the pre-race briefings. There are several different types of races, all of them requiring slightly different tactics. The elimination rounds, for example, are best handled by putting the pedal to the metal and ignoring any targets, since the last cars will be removed from the race. The there and back races, on the other hand, are more problematic since there's inevitably a big pile-up at the turning point and if you're low on armour you can find your car annihilated in a matter of seconds.

Weave like there's no tomorrow.

Don't forget that while you can blast your opponents into smithereens, they can do the same to you. Weaving and dodging is the best approach to take - as well as dodging mines and so forth, use your rear view mirror to see your opponents coming up behind you and either drop a mine into their path or just drive left and right to avoid their projectiles.
