Fahrenheit Walkthrough

Due to time restraints currently in place at home, this is as far as I have gotten to writing this walkthrough. There may be (if time permits) a second part that will complete this walkthrough.

Scene 1: Lucas at the Diner
Watch the cut scene of Lucas killing the businessman at the urinal. You’ll start playing as soon as the cut scene finishes. You should notice a police officer at the counter of the diner, so you must act quickly. Depending on how you want to play this level depends on what you do next. If you want to just leave the diner, run out of the toilets and quickly run out of the door before you get identified as the murderer.

However, if you want to cover up the murder, you’ll need to use your brain. Move the body from the centre of the room and into a cubical (follow the onscreen instructions on how to do so (tapping L and R buttons)). Find the murder weapon, which is just lying around by the urinal the businessman was using. Lucas will try to hide it (however, as finding the murder weapon is part of the next scene, the camera will start to wander when Lucas hides it). Finally, clean both the toilet floor (by using the nearby mop) and wash your hands at the sinks*. Once everything has been sorted, walk out of the toilet door.
*Note one of the sinks have taps that are out of order. Don’t panic use the other ones!

You’ll now be in the main part of the diner. You’ll see the police officer in the corner, but providing you get out of the diner before he finds the body, you’ll be safe. You should use this small interlude to build up Lucas’ mental state. Go back to your seat and finish drinking your coffee, eat up your meal and – most importantly, pay your bill. If you don’t pay your bill, the waitress on the way out stops you. If you feel really goody, you can go up to the police officer and confess to him, although he won’t believe you. Once you’ve had a good explore, or have to escape because the police officer is heading towards the toilets, walk out through either the back door or the main door to go outside. You’ll need to find a means of escape, so run towards a taxi or towards the underground station. This must be done quite quickly as the police are heading in your direction – spend too long outside and it’s game over. Escape to complete the scene.


Scene 2: Carla and Tyler at the Diner
The start of this scene involves a bit of a cut scene. It introduces two of the other characters, Carla and Tyler.

You’ll need to keep switching between Carla and Tyler in this scene to make sure you find as much evidence as possible. However, if you’d prefer Lucas to stay ahead of the game, try to find the bare minimum. You’ll definitely need to interview both the police officer and the waitress. Try not to torture them – ask questions that will help you in the game.

Once you’ve interviewed them, start to search the diner for clues. Carla will notice a book under the table, plus several clues on the table. Make her take the evidence to the guys from the forensic laboratories. She can also get the lab guys to trace back any calls from the phone booth in the corner. Carla can also go out back into the alleyway and get some information from a homeless guy. He’s not much help though.
In the toilet, Carla will notice blood on the mop.

Press B to switch to Tyler. Tyler usually just annoys Carla when in the diner area, but in the toilet he’s quite useful. Just don’t annoy Carla by using the urinal – but if you’re playing the game for laughs, do it. Get him to search the dead body and he’ll explain what he sees. He’s also useful for finding the murder weapon. It can either be hidden in the other two toilets or the bin. If it’s not here, Carla will search the toilet that Lucas started in and find the knife in the ventilation shaft at the base of the cubical.

Head back outside and talk to Tyler. Tell him that you’ve found enough evidence and want to go.


Scene 3: Lucas’ Apartment
After the small bit of talking, you’ll be able to control Lucas again. He’ll have a headache, but it’s up to you if you want him to take the medicine for it to clear up. Just remember DON’T DRINK ANY ALCOHOL – remember this for later on in the game. Lucas’ phone will then ring – so go and answer it.

Head into the bathroom and take a shower and then put bandages on Lucas’ wounds. These can be found in the medicine cabinet in the bathroom. Now quickly pick up Lucas’ bloody clothes and hide them in the washing machine in the bathroom. Then head back into the bedroom and make Lucas’ bed. This will cover up the bloodstains.

Now, a policeman will come to the door. Don’t panic. Walk calmly to the dining room table, pick up the keys and walk towards the door. Unlock the door and then open it. Talk to the policeman and answer his questions in a way such that he doesn’t become suspicious. You should have cleaned up enough so that he doesn’t suspect that anything’s wrong. He’ll check the bedroom and the bathroom, walk around the dining room and then leave. You can then either explore the apartment yourself, or just exit through the same door as the policeman.


Scene 4: Carla at the Station/Tyler at Home
Walk Carla forward and then through the security checkpoint. The policeman at the desk will talk to you about Tyler being late again. After this conversation, head upstairs via the right staircase and into the police offices. Walk straight ahead towards Carla’s office.

Just before you reach the office Carla will be confronted by a slimy cop called Jeffrey.
Skip most of the conversation as it doesn’t matter what Carla says, she still loses sanity points. Inside her office, you’ll need to call Tyler. You can muck about with her computer if you wish, but stay away from Tyler’s side of the office, it brings her mood down. Once Tyler has been called, check Carla’s mail and discover e-mail from KIRSTEN. Check this name against the database.

Now switch to Tyler. He’ll wake up, but you can allow him to have a little fun with his girlfriend first. Don’t worry, you don’t see anything – it’s just music and the camera focusing on items in the room! Once you’ve gotten up, go into the bathroom and have a shower, get dressed and when you walk out, you’ll see Sam (Tyler’s girlfriend) isn’t there. She’ll be in the kitchen. Be nice to her in all of the talking parts – if you’re not nice, you’ll lose lots of sanity points. Kiss Sam goodbye before leaving and walk out the door.

You’ll now control Tyler at the police station. Head to Carla’s office, but Jeffrey will confront him just before he gets through the door. Talk to him and arrange a basketball match with him. This is a mini-game that you’ll get to play later. Walk into the office and it’s near the end of the scene.


Scene 5: Lucas at the Park
Walk forward and talk to Marcus. Listen to him as he interrogates you. No matter which way the conversation flows, it will end in Marcus offering you a crucifix. Take it as it gives you an extra life.

As you walk away, you have a vision of a kid falling through the ice and into the icy depths of the lake. You can either opt to save this kid when he does fall through the ice or run away. I suggest you save him as running away really takes it toll on Lucas’ sanity bar – and for little advantage.

Save him and follow the button presses on the screen. After several sequences of pressing L and R, you’ll save the child and be seen as the hero. The policeman will recognise you from the diner here, but figured a life for a life and lets you go without saying anything.


Scene 6: Carla at the Morgue
This level is just one huge button pressing sequence. The quicker you press the correct button sequence, the more information Carla will work out from the body of the murder victim. If Carla messes up any of these button sequences, she’ll suffer a loss of 5 sanity points. This is for every mistake – so be careful.

Follow through all of the cut scenes and button sequences to complete this scene.


Scene 7: Tyler and the Witness
This is just a photo fit exercise. Tyler will ask the waitress some questions and will explain how to use the photo fit software. It’s really simple, press left and right on the D-pad to select through the available options and select what you believe to be the correct part that matches Lucas’ face. It doesn’t really matter how bad you make the picture, it has no effect on the rest of the game.

However if you make it 100% accurate, it will provide Carla with another clue later on in the game.


Scene 8: Lucas at Work
This scene revolves around Lucas at the bank. He works at a desk and the main goal of this level is to get to it. Whilst in the bathroom, try and boost your sanity level by interacting with environment as much as possible. There should also be a bonus tarot card in one of the cubicles.
Now, leave the bathroom and head towards Lucas’ office – it’s indicated by the dot on the map. Just act normal – people will soon see you freaking out – so best not worry them yet. Once you get to your office, have a little look at your desk – an extra life awaits you in its drawers. Tiffany will call you – answer the phone and say yes, Lucas will gain a few points on his sanity meter.

Lucas will eventually be sent out of his office. This is the start of a series of quick fire, real time events. These sequences are really fun. To start, run down the only path that’s clear. This should start the evasion sequence. Make sure you succeed as failing this section costs one life. Complete the sequence to finish the scene.


Scene 9: Lucas’ Apartment
The start of this scene is basically a chill-out session – allowing you to recover from the fast-paced action sequence in the previous scene. You can check out Lucas’ guitar or punch bag – but both of these require light sequences similar to the one in the previous scene. You can also take Lucas’ medicine, listen to music or check out what’s on TV. The TV usually brings Lucas’ mood down because it is about the murder inquiry. After a while Tiffany will arrive.

This starts a finding task – whereby you have to find Tiffany’s boxes. One is near Lucas’ computer in his bedroom; the other is near the telephone. Bring them to Tiffany and they’ll start talking. For a good sanity boost, be truthful with her (choose Sentimental and then Sincere). If you choose Alone, she’ll get you to play the guitar for her. Don’t bother going in for the kiss, she’ll reject you and Lucas will lose sanity points. Poor lad, he still has feelings for her. She’ll leave soon after.

Take Lucas to bed and make him sleep. When he wakes up, go and turn off the TV and shut the windows. You have a choice on what to do next – either go back to bed and receive a sanity boost, or head to the door to find a very disturbing scene.


Scene 10: Carla & Tyler at the Gym
Both Carla and Tyler need to warm up. Pick either one of them and make them warm up on two of the exercise machines/apparatus. It’s just a case of L and R pressing. Once you’ve completed the warm ups with one character, it’s time to do it with the other on the other two machines.

Once Tyler and Carla have warmed up, it’s another fun button pressing sequence. This is where you begin to feel as if you are in control of their motion, when actually you are just pushing buttons in order. Let whoever has the lowest sanity level win the match, as the winner receives a bonus +20 to their sanity meter. Complete the match to complete the scene.


Scene 11: Lucas at the Cemetery
Basically make Lucas meet up with Marcus. He can be found by taking the second path on the right. It’s now a case of laying the flowers on the grave. Very simple scene – but ends in you having to play a flashback, when Lucas and Marcus were kids.
Scene 12: Lucas and Marcus in the Military Base
Take two steps forward and you’ll be rewarded with a short cut scene. The objective is to reach Hangar 4. The soldiers on here aren’t that helpful – you’ll need to pass the blockade and climb over the fence on the right. This can prove a little difficult, so just take your time.

Once over the fence, it’s a case of just avoiding the watchful eye of the guards. Run towards the hangar, but it will be likely you’ll get caught at the area of the road. Once through the hole in the fence, hide behind the big rock and try and run behind the truck as it rolls by. Once you’ve passed their fields of vision – run straight to the hangar indicated by the cross on the mini-map.

You’ve now a short period of time to save Marcus’ friends before the hangar explodes. One is in a crate with a loose panel; the second is by the stairway to the plane (you need to select Lie for this one) and the final one is upstairs and is hiding behind the fourth set of metal sheets. Once all three friends are saved, or you need to escape because you’ve nearly ran out of time you end the scene.


Scene 13: Carla at the Police Station
The chief gets mad in this scene – nothing you say will result in him becoming a happy chappy. He sets you both a set of assignments – Carla will have to go and find the Kirsten file and Tyler will have to head out and visit a bookstore.

Carla will now go down into the basement. It’s difficult because she suffers from claustrophobia. Just walk forward slowly and try and keep her breathing normally. The lights will cut out, but remain still until they come back on. It’s now a task of finding the file. By turning the wheels you can move the bookcases. It’s then a case of finding the right file on the right case. The file is located on the 1990-2000 shelf and once obtained, place it in the video terminal.

This task would have been so easy if you didn’t have to control Carla’s breathing. If she hyperventilates and panics, she’ll suffer a huge sanity loss and you’ll have to complete this mission using Tyler, once he’s returned from the bookstore.


Scene 14: Tyler at the Bookstore
Select anything whilst talking to the annoying bookkeeper. It doesn’t matter what you say as he won’t be helpful until you try and leave the store. It is when you leave he’ll ask you to get a book for him.

Use the book he gives you and the magnifying glasses to work out the clues and in the book, you’ll find another clue to the murder – a torn piece of paper used as a bookmark. Look at the book by the bookkeeper to find where the book that you are after is filed. It’s basically of running to the shelf and picking up the book.

Once you have the book, talk to the bookkeeper. End of scene – seemed like a slightly pointless trip, doesn’t it.

Part One - The Diner
--------------------
After finding yourself covered in blood, move over to the Body so you see a symbol at the top of the screen. Slide the Right Analoge Stick down so that you pick up the Body. Start pressing the Left and Right Trigger continuously untill the Body is near the Toiliet, then move the Right Analogue Stick up, down, left, right untill the Body is on the Toiliet. Afterwards, walk out and Close the door using the same way as told before. You will gain 5 sanity.

Now the body is out of the way, walk to the right after leaving the Toiliet Stool then pick up the mop normally. Go near the blood on the floor and move the Right Analoge Stick up three times, then the Game will take control for two seconds and will continuse moping up the bloody mess,
and put the Mop back where it should be. You will gain another 5 sanity.

Now walk back where the Blood was. If you didn't know already, when you dropped the Knife, it skidded near the Urinals. Go next to it and pick up the Knife. Your Character will automaticly hide the Knife somewhere. Afterwards, go by the Sink and look at yourself in the Mirror. You see that you are covered in Blood, so wash your hands in the Sink, then, as a bit of comedy, go by thr Urinals and empty your bowls. You will gain, once again, 5 sanity.

Now leave the scene of the crime. Do NOT leave the place. After moving about two Tables away from the toliet, go to your Table and look at your Bill. Pay for the Bill then exit the Diner. A coincidence is, that the Cop wants to go to the Toiliet. Quickly runn up the street up to s Taxi, then get in. You will gain ten sanity. You have now completed level 1 of this great game.
