This game is also available on PC.
Although the game has only been in shops since July 9th, I have the solution for u to stop buggering up in championshop and Rally School modes.
RBR Rally School:
this is based on the real-world BARS Rally School with a short Forest experience stage in Wales.
To complete, it is simple:
the simple tests are a walkover and require little, if no skill to complete. Likewise with all but the final "Advanced" test using the BARS Forest Experience Centre.
one thing you MUST REMEMBER TO PASS WITH FLYING COLOURS:
the "PACE NOTES" of Burns' Real-world co-driver are crucially important because they give a highly detailed description of what lies ahead in the test. These use the "DIRECTION-SEVERITY" style of notes as seen and done by Robert Reid in the WRC2 game. They should be relatively straightforward to follow in this test as they aren't very detailed at this stage. The Target time of 1 min 20 secs is easy to achieve IF you follow the 2 basic guidelines:
1: STICK TO THE ROAD: Although you may be slung off the road most of the time, you can also pick up time by staying on line and maintaining car control in the corners.
2: USE ADVANCED TECHNIQUES: Also, the advanced techniques of previous tests should be just about plumbed into your brain by now, but if not, simply repeat the section again. the techniques are crucial, especially on the section where the "90 Right Long into straight" part appears, this is where you are most likely to lose time, as there are ditches on the inside apex, and a large patch of trees on the outside. From here, just use rule (1) and you should not go far wrong.
the time i set after a few days of trying, was 1:19.99, just enough to scrape through and scrape the "Perfect" rating.
RBR World Championship Mode:
By now, you are at the stage where you may feel confident enough to tackle the championship at higher level, but stick to novice, as it is much more forgiving. use the full width of the road, and follow the info below regarding each country:
U.K.:
the stages are quick blasts out of the Pirelli International Rally in the British c'ship, however, they are still riddled with hazards such as ditches and trees, meaning a constricted approach to the driving. at this stage, you should have the 2000 Impreza. Use it as it is more forgiving on you as a driver. the other 3 (Impreza '03, Lancer Evo VII and the Toyota Corolla WRC 98) are tricky to drive and require different styles for each.
Finland.:
as this is a snow rally, be careful. Visibility is very low and can catch you out, but, if you stay focused on the road and drive within your limits, you shouldn't have any problems.
Japan.:
these again are gravel stages, but are even narrower than UK and other rallies, so just stay within your ability and be careful with the car, as trees are very close to the road.
USA:
as with UK and Japan, this is on Gravel. the roads are very wide and fast, however, with large runoffs everywhere, there is little room for error. there are also blind crests and jumps on the straights which WILL catch out the unwary. take care, and you should set quick times.
France Mont Blanc.:
the only rally in the game where Asphalt is the only surface you will come across. the first 2 stages forecast changeable conditions, and as such, these appear in Stages 3-6. the rain is heavy so change to full wet tyres at the start of day 2 and keep all settings on safe.
Australia Canberra Rally.:
the final rally of the championship is traditionally a tough one. the first 3 stages are relatively easy, and as such require medium levels of concentration. But on the Mineshaft stage, around 1 1/2 km from the finish, there is a very big jump. to take it safely, do it at around 100 km/h and maintain your speed as the jump is a "Caution" in the notes. other than this, there are no real hazards other than trees and banks, all the usual dangers, and little room for error. this is the last rally in the season so take it steady and drive carefully.
a little tip for drivers using semiautomatic gearboxes:
at stage starts, you will get false starts if you rev before the countdown starts, 10 seconds may not hurt your overall time much, but it will send stage times crashing through the wall. so if you enjoy revving at the start line, hold the handbrake, and, where necessary, the normal brake too. this keeps the car stopped still, but can cause small problems with the car.
If you follow these guidelines, you should have no real problems.
just take it steady and enjoy yourself.
HAPPY RALLYING!!
