SABREWULF - GAMEBOY ADVANCE - CHALLENGE MODE WALKTHROUGH

While those of you who have completed SabreWulf, earned all the rare orchids, photographs and treasure will think that's it, in order to get 100% complete on you save file, you must play through Challenge Mode. This walkthrough will tell exactly how to use your creatures, which route to take and help you get each and every one of those Rare ratings.

WORLD 1 - BLACKWYCHE VILLAGE

CAMPSITE CLEARING
Creatures:
Blubba
Technique:
This is a very simple level and requires little effort to gain the coveted R ranking. Simply begin running to the right from the very start and when you come to a wall, use Blubba to bounce over and then keep on running to the Wulf's lair.

RIVER CROSSING
Creatures:
Bloater
Technique:
At the start of the level, begin by jumping in between the two bombs to collect the armour, and then immediately using Bloater and jump inside him. From then on, just keep holding to the right until you reach the upper most level with yet another bomb on it. Instead of jumping over the explosive device, run straight through it and your armour will protect you. In order to get a Rare rating, you'll need under 9 seconds so it should take a fair few tries to perfect.

BLOWN AWAY
Creatures:
Tailspin, Serpent
Technique:
Begin by running to the right slightly, just before you start touching the Blocker, then quickly use Tailspin and place it on top of the Blocker. Jump over the little mouse, and when he starts to blow a gust of air your way, jump to the right onto the big pile of Blockers, then proceed to jump onto the next platform to your right. Just as you land, place your Serpent just above the first of two bombs, then jump up to the next platform, over another blocker and finally to the Wulf's lair. Again, you'll have to try a fair few times to reach 8 seconds and a Rare ranking.

BLACKWYCHE SWAMP
Creatures:
Drooler, Blubba
Technique:
As soon as you start the level, jump over the first part of swamp and use your Drooler as you come to a gathering of three bombs to get rid of one, then jump over the remaining two and use your Blubba at the foot of the three Blockers. After that jump over the two reaming obstacles (it doesn't matter if you get hit by the last one as you have some armour) to reach the Wulf's lair. You'll have to practice timing use of you creatures perfectly if you want to gain a Rare rating, so you may have to try a fair few times before perfecting it.

OUTLAW INN
Creatures:
Mysti
Technique:
There's a Hopper at the beginning of the level, so start off by running under him, then keep going full-speed to the right. When you come to a small building with a Roofspike underneath it, jump up to get the body armour and you should have no problems running straight under yet another Springy, and end up near a set of two bombs. Place your Mysti just above, then jump onto Mysti and then onto the other platform just past three more bombs to reach the Wulf's lair. It doesn't matter if you hit the bombs as your armour will protect you, and after a few goes you'll get a Rare rating no problem.

EASTERN KARNATH
Creatures:
Bloater, Sucker
Technique:
Jump onto your tent as the level starts, in order to pick up some body armour, then jump to the right onto a platform full of bombs. The body armour will protect, so you won't get hurt. After that, jump down onto a platform with another bomb on it, and try to land just to the right of the explosive, before jumping to another platform accompanied by a Spike. As soon as you land, use your Bloater and jump into him, then hold to the right until you reach the highest part of the ground with a Hopper on it. Run underneath the Hopper and jump over two more Spikes to reach the Wulf's lair. After a couple of goes you'll get Rare ranking easily.

WISHING WELL
Creatures:

Technique:
Begin by running under the Roofspike and Crumble, then jump up onto the next platform and run under a Hopper. After this you'll find a roof with yet another Crumble and a bomb on its underside, with some Armour above it. Jump over it to collect the armour and dash below the Hopper to your right. After this you'll find another roof with more bombs and another Crumble; this time jump onto you foe and then up onto a higher platform consisting of two Blockers and a bomb lying atop it. Using the armour you got at the start of the level, simply jump over and drop down to a Crumble on your right leading to another small roof, followed by yet another Crumble. Jump on your final enemy and then towards the Wulf's lair. You shouldn't have any problems getting a Rare rating on this level and should only take two or three attempts.

WORLD 2 - KARNATH JUNGLE

KARNATH CANOPY
Creatures:
Club
Technique:
Begin by simply running as fast as you can to the right, jumping over any platforms or other objects you may come across. When you reach a Crumble, quickly use a Club to destroy the Blockers in front of you. After the first Blocker is destroyed, hop over the Club’s head and keep running to the right to reach the Wulf’s lair. You should have no problems getting a Rare rating, perhaps in your first couple of attempts.

TANGLE TERROR
Creatures:
Boomer, Bigfoot
Technique:
When the level starts, begin by jumping to the right straight away, and over any foes that may get in your way. When you reach the first section of swamp, jump over it, as close to the Blocker as you can, then jump over the Blocker itself, trying to avoid the bomb atop it (this can take a little bit of practice to do). After that quickly use you Boomer on the two foes need a pile a three Blockers, before jumping over those that remain. After that there’s yet another tricky jump, which will take a fair bit of practice, with two bombs and a Hoverconker floating above. After this, simply avoid Needlenoses and jump over the Hopper to reach the Wulf’s lair. It will take a lot of practice to get the rare rating, and razor-sharp reflexes, so you may have to have a fair few goes before you do.

LOWER KARNATH MINES
Creatures:
Wizard, Bloater
Technique:
At start of the level, jump over the Poison then proceed to drop down to the right, before quickly running to the left, underneath a Hopper. After the Hopper jump through the small gap on the left of the Hoverconker and, once again, begin to run to the right, jumping over another Poison. As soon as you reach the platform below, quickly use your Wizard and place him in between the two Needlenoses, then run past the other Needlenoses once the Blockers have been destroyed. When you jump up to the next platform, quickly use your Bloater and jump into him, then float up to the platform near the armour and jump over the Poison. After this simply jump up to the right to earn your reward.

OVERGROWN OUTPOST
Creatures:
None
Technique:
This is fairly simple, so you should have no problems getting an R rating. As soon as you start, dash to the right, over a Springy and under a Hopper, then up to a platform consisting of a Blocker with a bomb on top of it. Jump over the bomb (carefully) and collect the armour above it. The jump over the Hoverconker, down two platforms with one bomb to the left of it. Instead of simply jumping to the right, drop down to the pit of foes below (your armour will stop you from dying), then jump back up to the right and over the Springy and Hoverconker to reach the finish.

KNIGHTLORE FALLS
Creatures:

Technique:
Begin by jumping in between the two Poisons, then leaping onto one of the two platforms just to your right. There’s a wall of Hoverconkers blocker your way, so jump over them and then continue to dash past the Needlenoses. After three, you’ll come to a blocker with a Poison sitting on top of top. Trying to simply jump over will get you killed, so jump just in font of it so you’re on the same level, then leap over the deadly snake to remain alive and well, proceeding to run past another Needlenose. After this, you’ll have to jump up a series of platforms in order to reach the end of the level; if you want to get the Rare rating, you’ll have to jump up here as fast as you can; press A as soon as you land on each block of land. When you reach the top simply jump over the Spike to finish.

UPPER KARNATH MINES
Creatures:
Wizard, Mysti, Bigfoot
Technique:
When you start, just run to the right, avoiding any enemies you may come by, until you reach the first Crumble. Jump from the Crumble across to a second in order to reach some body armour, then jump onto the next platform with two Needlenoses and two Blockers in your way. As soon as you land, use your Wizard to destroy the two Blockers, run past and drop down the second gap you come across. You’ll land on a Spike, but won’t be harmed due to collecting the body armour, then jump over a second Spike to your left and quickly place your Mysti above the Springy. Jump over the three enemies below, speed underneath a Hopper and then drop to the right (closely avoiding the Hoverconker) to reach the bottom floor. You’ll find a pit with three bombs in it and a small gap in between; jump in the gap and then use your Bigfoot to destroy the Blockers just past the pit. Once destroyed, simply run as fast as you can to the Wulf’s lair, jumping over any obstacle that may get in your way.

TANGLE TERROR LOOKOUT
Creatures:
Blubba, Sticky, Bigfoot
Technique:
When the level starts, begin by jumping over the two Spikes to your right, then run under the two Hoppers in front of you. After you’ve jumped over the Poison, run just underneath the Hopper and quickly use you Blubba to clear the path ahead of the two bombs and Crumbles. Once you fall to the lower platform, run to your left and use your Sticky to block up the Springy and proceed to run over it and past the Needlenoses. Drop down to the right this time and quickly use your Bigfoot to kick the bomb blocking your path at the Blocker over the river. After that simply run to right and dodge the Hopper and bombs to reach the finish. You’ll have to practice a lot if you wish to gain an R rating, and get a near-perfect run, so you may want to settle for a gold rating instead.

WORLD 3 - UNDERWURLDE MINES

TORCHLIGHT TORMENT
Creatures:
Serpent (x2)
Technique:
When you begin, just keep running to the right, jumping over the various obstacles that pop up, until you reach a Gusta blocking your path. Keep holding forward, choose a Serpent and place it just in front of the Gusta, then proceed to jump on your own creature in order to elevate yourself over to the next platform, accompanied by a Spike. Jump over the Spike and then left into the path of another Gusta, that will this time push to safety. Keep running to the left, past a Needlenose, Crumble and jump over a Hopper, then use the green Gusta to blow you up to the platform ahead. Jump in between the two bombs and use your remaining Serpent just above the second bomb. After that, reach the highest platform, over another Gusta and a bomb to reach your goal. Again, an R rating is very tough to get, so you may want to settle for gold instead.

DEEP DARK DUGOUT
Creatures:
Mysti (x2), Phoenix, Boomer
Technique:
Begin by opening up your creature menu, scrolling left and using a Mysti in between the four Hoverconkers ahead. Use this to elevate yourself to the next platform, and continue to run to the right, jumping over a Pleb and dashing under a Hopper on your way. Up on the next platform, you’ll find a red Gusta that will be blowing wind in your direction, simply keep running towards him and he’ll change direction to above him in no time, giving you a chance to hop up to the platform on his left. Jump over another Pleb, and to the right of a Hopper on the level above. Proceed by running to your right past a Needlenose, then quickly use your Phoenix to jump through both Gusta and Spike, thus reaching the Wulf’s lair and your much-deserved treasure. This is a fairly simple level, so you should get a Rare rating no problem.

STINKY CAVERN
Creatures:
Club, Mysti
Technique:
From the off, jump over the Poison in front of you, then hop over the Dripper’s deadly acid to a Gusta, with some armour hovering above it. Jump over, collect the armour and then you’ll reach a Pleb and another Dripper. Jump right over the Pleb and just past the Dripper, then use your Club quickly, in order to dispose of the Blockers ahead. As soon as the first Blocker is destroyed, jump on top of the remaining two and down to a group of Hoppers, which you should jump through to put your armour to good use. On the next platform to your right, you’ll find another Dripper, while he’s ‘dripping’ at you, quickly use your Mysti near the three Hoverconkers, jump on it and then over your foes and under a Dripper to reach the finish and hopefully an R rating.

MINING MAYHEM
Creatures:
Drooler
Technique:
Start by using the Gusta on your right to elevate yourself up to the next platform, then jump down past the Fatso, collecting the armour, over a Spike, then under another Fatso. After that, drop down to the right and quickly jump to your left, over the two bombs then over the Pleb. Keep running, under a Dripper and some Fatso’s until you reach two Plebs and the same number of Roofspikes. Jump through your four foes, using your armour to protect you, then drop to down to the lowest level, making sure you land to the left rather than the right otherwise you’ll be temporarily knocked out. After that simply jump over the Poison, a Hopper, under the two Fatso’s and over two more bombs to reach the finish line.

LOOKOUT LEDGE
Creatures:
Blubba
Technique:
When the level starts, jump to the right over the three platforms and then run straight into the Springy. You should bounce right up onto the next platform, then begin to run left and over the Spike. Just after the Spike, immediately use your Blubba onto the next platform up and use it to reach a section with two Fatso’s on it. Just run under the Fatso’s, over a Spike and then jump up next to a Gusta, and jump on the gust of wind to reach an area with two Springy’s to your left. Jump on them to reach the platform on your left with a Pleb on it, quickly jump over the Pleb, and up onto the next platform, stopping just under the gap between a Crumble and another Pleb. Jump onto the platform to you left then quickly onto the Crumble so your foe doesn’t hurt you. Simply jump onto the Gusta ahead, then drop down to the Wulf’s lair. This will take quite a while to perfect, mainly due to the slippery surface, so you’ll have to have a fair few goes to gain an R rating.

CRUMBLE CREVICE
Creatures:
Serpent, Tailspin
Technique:
At the start of the level, simply keep running to the right until you reach the platform just past the first Hopper. Quickly use your Serpent up above you to the left, it order to cause the Fatso’s to fall to the ground, before following the Serpent yourself. Keep running to the left until you see another Hopper, at which point you should jump to the right, up to another platform. Jump over the Hopper, under the Fatso and past the Dripper to the Crumble on the right of the screen. Stand on it until it falls through and then rush to the left, stopping just before you drop to select your Tailspin then dropping it down before you (make sure it’s facing to the right). Jump down yourself afterwards, either on top of or to the left of your Tailspin, and it should blow a single bomb towards a group of Hoverconkers, unblocking your route. When the bomb sets off, you should follow it down, rush to the left to a Crumble and down the gap just to the left of it, and hold right to land on another Crumble. Now simply drop down to the right to earn your reward.

STRANGLEHOLD SWAMP
Creatures:
Wizard
Technique:
This is a very simple one, so you should have any problems at all getting a Rare rating. Begin by making a small jump past the Dripper (so its acid doesn’t catch you) and proceed to run under two Fatso’s and a Hopper. Keep running forward, over a Poison then another small hop onto a Gusta, holding right so you exit the gust of wind as quickly as possible, landing just in front of a Poison. Quickly use your Wizard past the Poison and jump forward as he fires his beam so you run right under the Hopper, then keep running to the right, the Wizard will destroy all obstacles leaving a Rare emblem ready and waiting if you’re fast enough.

WORLD 4 - ENTOMBED SWAMP

STINGER STRANGLE
Creatures:
Serpent (x2), Drooler, Sucker
Technique:
When you begin, run to the right and hop over the small piece of swampland, avoiding jumping as soon as you start so the Fleas don’t grab hold of you. You’ll come to three bombs; try to jump over the first and land in between the second and third, before hopping over the final one, then over a Pleb to collect some armour. Straight away, use your Serpent to trap the Hopper ahead, then use your creature to reach the top of the Blocker pile, before jumping down over yet another Hopper. Continue by jumping over the Fleas and under the three Hoppers (as long as you keep holding to the right you’ll pass right under them). Keep going, through the Hoverconkers to use up your armour, then jump towards the Wulf’s lair and your prize, which should be an R rating.

FRANTIC FISSURE
Creatures:
Bloater (x2), Boomer, Blubba
Technique:
Start the level by running to the right, under the Boostaconker and then use the Crumble ahead to reach a platform, accompanied by a Hopper. Wait until he’s bounced once, then run under him, onto another Crumble, and quickly use your Bloater to carry you over 3 Boostaconkers, towards a path with 3 Blockers ahead of you. Use your Boomer in between the Blockers and a bomb just ahead to clear the way, then jump over another Boostaconker (collecting the armour just above), and over a Springy to another platform. Quickly use your Blubba on the platform just to your left, and use him to elevate yourself up to an area with two Springy’s. Begin running to the left, over two Spikes, under a Needlenose and jump over two more Boostaconkers. Then, immediately jump to the right, and use your remaining Bloater to float over the two Gustas, landing on the highest (it won’t harm you thanks to the armour), then down to the Wulf’s lair.

HOBBLED HAMLET
Creatures:
Mysti, Serpent, Golem, Blubba (x2)
Technique:
As the level starts, run to the right until you a reach a Gusta with a Boostaconker hovering above it. Hop over the Gusta, and hold right so you don’t get sucked up towards your spiky foe. As soon as you land on the other side, use your Mysti in the path of the second Gusta’s wind, then use it to reach the next platform to you right, towards two Boostaconkers. Simply jump over them, and hopefully the Springy will bring you towards a rooftop with a Pleb on top of it. Run to the edge of the roof, quickly use your Serpent and dash to area ahead, containing 3 Blockers and a Gusta. Use your Golem to crush the Gusta and Blocker, then use your first Blubba to jump on top of the Golem, before hopping down. Use your remaining Blubba to jump over the Lure and then simply run to the finish, avoiding a couple of obstacles along the way

STINKHORN SWAMP
Creatures:
Boomer, Tailspin, Blubba
Technique:
As soon as the level starts, quickly use your Boomer on the four Hoverconkers in front of you. Once they’re gone, grab the armour and dash to the right, jumping over the Poison and both Dripper and Hopper. As soon as you enter the swamp past the Hopper, quickly use your Tailspin to get rid of the two Hoverconkers and bomb ahead of you, then proceed to the right. You’ll come across yet more Hoverconkers, this time just jump straight through them, putting your armour to good use, then jump onto a platform with two Hoppers on it. Just keep running to the right and you should dodge them easily. When you reach the two Boostaconkers, jump in between the two and you’ll get grabbed by the Fleas, simply run under the Boostaconker to the right, then jump up to the Wulf’s lair, claiming your prize. This is fairly simple, and you should get a Rare rating in no time.

ROCKY MOUNT
Creatures:
Boomer, Drooler
Technique:
The level starts with a Gusta to your right, and a Spike just below it. Try to jump past the Gusta and land in between the two; it may be hard at first, but after a couple of tries becomes second nature. After this, run to right, and as you drop down to the next platform (near the Hive), hold to the left so you fall through a gap to the lowest section of the level. Jump over the Pleb to your right, and keep going that way until you meet a Lure, at which point you should use your Boomer on the Pleb below him, before continuing forward and jumping over the platforms ahead. When you get to the platform just past the Crumbles, quickly use your Drooler below the closest Fatso. After that, simply run to the finish.

VIPER VINES
Creatures:
Mysti, Phoenix, Boomer
Technique:
Just as the level starts, jump over the Crumble and collect the armour, then run through the Boostaconkers, using the armour to its full extent. After you passed three Boostaconkers, quickly use your Mysti to get over the other three and avoid the Fleas, then simply run past a Fatso, under a Hopper and then a Dripper to reach a platform containing Blockers, Poisons and a Lure. Quickly use your Phoenix and plough through all of your foes, and just keep running until you reach two Springys. Jump onto the one below and then over the two Blockers ahead to reach victory.

TERROR TEMPLE
Creatures:
Blubba, Tailspin, Mysti
Technique:
Begin by running to the right, jump over the bomb, past a Hopper, over a Spingy and past another Hopper, until you reach a Spike and two Hoverconkers. Quickly use your Blubba to jump over the spiky beasts, then use your Tailspin on the platform above, in between the two bombs, facing towards you. This will destroy the bomb, Fleas and Blocker, leaving you free to jump up, over the Tailspin and remaining bomb. After that, jump over the two Boostaconkers, then past the Gusta and Spike, collecting the armour on the way. Quickly use your Mysti to reach the platform above, the jump over the Pleb, and any other obstacles ahead. When you get to a Lure and a bunch of Hoppers, just run through them and you’ll reach the end in no time.

WORLD 5 - MT. KNIGHTLORE

SNOWY KNOLL
Creatures:
Serpent, Bloater
Technique:
When the level starts, jump on top of the Bouncer ahead, launching up to the next platform, and continue to jump up onto the Blockers and Crumble just past the Springy. At this point, some Fleas will start to chase you. In order to get rid of them, keep running to the right and down into a pit with two Bouncers in it; as long as you keep to the very left, the Bouncers shouldn’t hit you and the Fleas will be destroyed by the Gusta’s wind above. As soon as they’re gone, jump up and use your Serpent to block the Gusta’s attack, then to jump over him, and onto a platform with a Pleb. Jump over the Pleb and up to another platform to the right; in order to reach the higher area, you must use your Bloater to float up and then drop onto it as soon as you can. There are two more Plebs in your way, so follow them until they change direction, then jump down to the right, past the Springy, and then jump onto a floating platform, followed by another consisting of two Bouncers and a Spike. To dodge these creatures, first you must get in between the two Bouncers and wait for the one right most to move towards you. As it does, jump over its head and then over the Spike to victory.

FROSTY’S GROTTO
Creatures:
Blubba (x3), Boomer, Bigfoot
Technique:
At the start of the level you’ll see a Boostaconker, run to the right until you’re just behind it, then quickly use your first Blubba on the Crumble ahead. Hop over the gap below the Boostaconker, making sure you don’t jump too high to avoid being hurt, and you’ll fly up to the next platform, with a bomb and a Bouncer on it. Jump over the bomb to collect the armour, then up to the next platform and over the Bouncer. Try to land as far to the right as you can, so the Bouncer can’t get you, then drop your second Blubba above you in order to reach the next section. As soon as you land, use your remaining Blubba to the far right of the platform, and jump over the Bouncer onto your Blubba to reach an even higher section of the level. For this part, just keep running right, over the Spike you’ll come across, until you come face to face with a Frosty, at which point you should jump over his head, and then up to the left onto a Spike. Jump over the rest of the Spikes, and keep running so Needlenoses don’t get you, as you’ve just used your armour up, then jump up to the next platform to collect some more. Keep running left until you see some Blockers, then quickly whip out your Boomer and use it to clear the path. There are two more Frosty’s ahead, so run through the first one, then jump over the next and you’ll come to a dead end, at which point you should jump to the right, over a Bouncer and to the Wulf’s lair.

SHIVERY PEAK
Creatures:
None
Technique:
Run to the right when the level starts, jumping from platform to platform as you go. When you reach a Blocker, hop over it and then the Splitter that follows. Jump to the to the next section, then quickly jump left, over a Spike and Bouncer, and continue running to the left, over yet another Spike to a section with some Blockers in your way. Ignore these and jump up to the right instead, over another Splitter, and up onto a hovering platform, before jumping up to another platform on the left. You have to jump at the very edge of the platform, though, because the floor is snowy and it can be tricky at times. Once you’re on the next section, you’ll meet up with a Frosty, jump above him onto another platform, and then further onto another with a Frosty on it. Quickly jump to the right now and begin running, over a Bouncer, a Splitter and a Whirlwind to reach the end of the level.

WAFTY SHAFT
Creatures:
Mysti (x3)
Technique:
There are three Blockers at the start of level, so straight away use one of your Mysti’s to reach the top of your three foes, before leaping down and (hopefully) landing in between the two Splitters at the bottom, although it may take a bit of practice to master. After that, jump on top of the next two Blockers, and over the Hoverconker ahead. Now, jump over the Bouncer, then past the gap and keep running to the right until you see a group of two Frosty’s and a Fatso, along with a Crumble. Use your second Mysti to reach the top of the Crumble, then jump down to the platform with a bomb on. Jump over the bomb and up onto the next platform with yet a bomb on it, then wait for the Whirlwind ahead to move away from you before jumping up. Hop over the Whirlwind, then over a gap, up onto another platform with a Frosty on it. Straight away jump over the Frosty, past the Springy and bomb, then jump over the two Boostaconkers to reach the finish line.

ICY NOOK
Creatures:
Bigfoot (x2), Bloater
Technique:
Run to the right from the start and drop down the first gap you come across. You’ll be dizzy for a bit when you land, but this doesn’t matter. Once you’re okay, run past the Needlenoses to your left and then drop down to a path full of Splitters. Hop over the first two, and then onto a Blocker before jumping over a third. You should land in between two both moving to the right. Keep running with them until you’re near the end of the pathway, in which case you should jump over the last one and drop down past the two Hives. Quickly use your first Bigfoot and set him off to the left, in order to get rid of the first Fatso, then run to the left past two more, before jumping up onto the edge of a platform with two Blockers on it. Use your remaining Bigfoot to kick down the Blockers, and when the first is destroyed, hop over and you’ll see a path with three Spikes and two Bouncers on it, alternating. If you’re not too bothered about a Rare rating, use your Bloater to float on past them, otherwise, jump on the Bouncers to launch yourself over the Spikes. After this, drop down and begin running to the right, over the Blocker and under two Hives, to reach the Wulf’s lair.

GUSTY GULLY
Creatures:
Golem (x3)
Technique:
When the level starts, just run to the right and hop over any obstacles you come across, making sure you don’t move onto the rooftops and you collect the armour in between the two Poisons. Soon you’ll get to a Whirlwind, wait for it to move towards you, then jump over and up onto a roof with a Bouncer on it. Jump over the Bouncer and run right until you reach a Spike, at which point you should quickly use your first Golem on the platform below, to get rid of a Whirlwind. Jump down, on top of your Golem, then use another to crush the Gusta who’s blocking you path ahead, before jumping up, past the Hive and over your own creature. You’ll find yet another Gusta and Hive, this time simply jump into the Gusta and you won’t be harmed thanks to your armour. Now simply move to the right to find your prize.

COALHOUSE CLIMB
Creatures:
Boomer (x2), Golem (x2), Serpent (x2), Bigfoot
Technique:
When the level starts, jump down to the platform below and try to land in between the two Poisons, collecting the armour too. Jump through the Hoverconker and run to some Crumbles and a Hive; simply jump over the lowest Crumble, trying to avoid the Hive at all costs, then run to the right until you reach some Hoppers, at which point you should use your Boomer on the Hoverconker in between the two to get rid of them all, before moving on once more. You’ll soon reach some step-like platforms with a Gusta and Frosty on it. Use your first Golem to crush the Gusta and jump on top of it, ducking if the Frosty above tries to attack. After that, jump over the Frosty and onto the very right of the next platform with a Bouncer on it, followed by jumping onto the very left of the next platform with a Splitter on it. Use your remaining Golem to destroy the Whirlwind on the next platform, then jump over the Splitter to reach it, before jumping over a Spike to reach the final path. Run to the right, dodging any creatures you may come across, then use a Serpent to help getting over a group of enemies that can’t be jumped over normally. Just after you’ll find two Plebs surrounded by Hoverconkers, use your Bigfoot to kick them onto the spiky fiends, thus getting rid of them, and then run past to victory.

WORLD 6 - NIGHTSHADE MINING

FLAMES OF FURY
Creatures:
Blubba (x4)
Technique:
When you start, run to your right and jump over the Barrel ‘O Flames, then up onto a platform with three Blockers on it, and some armour on top. Use your first Blubba to reach the summit, collect the armour, then jump down and over the oncoming Whirlwind. A little further right you’ll find even more Barrel ‘O Flames, because they’re not active, simply jump from one to another, trying to avoid the Hoverconker in between two of them. When you get past the last one, use your second Blubba to reach a higher platform with a Bouncer on it. Go to the very right and use your next Blubba to reach a green barrel, which can be easily jumped over. After that you’ll find two Plebs and a Hoverconker in between them; jump over the first one, then follow the second until he changes direction, then jump over him. Wait until the flames on the next barrel die down, then hop over and run to the right. You’ll three more barrels, bursting flames towards you at different times. Instead of waiting, just jump straight through them, with the help of your armour, and drop down two more platforms to find a gap followed by the final Barrel ‘O Flames. Jump over it to reach the Wulf’s lair.

RITUAL RUINS
Creatures:
Tailspin, Bloater
Technique:
At the start of the level, jump over the Oily and as soon as you land and select your Tailspin. On the platform above is a floating Hoverconker and a Spike, and above that a bomb, so quickly use your Tailspin next to the bomb (making sure it’s facing towards you), and the Hoverconker will be blown away and the Spike destroyed, leaving you free to hop up to the next platform. Here you’ll find a Gusta, so use it’s wind to levitate you up to the next section, and straight away jump over the bomb and Whirlwind ahead. Keep running to the right and hop over the obstacles that follow, as well as the other two Whirlwinds that are coming your way. Getting over them at speed may take a fair bit of practice, but worth it if you want that shining ‘R’ in the level selection. When you reach the Spike at the end of the path, jump over and try to land just to the right of the Springy below. Now quickly use your Bloater to float up to the platform on the high right, and keep moving right until you see a Splitter pass below you moving left, at which point you should drop down and run right. You’ll see a Blocker with a bomb on top of it, so wait until you see a Splitter on the other side of it move right before you leap over it, followed by the beast itself. Jump over another Blocker-bomb combo and onto a platform with an Oily on it. You can’t avoid the Oily, so jump off straight away and you’ll reach a Hopper with another Oily, this time beneath it. Wait until he jumps towards you, then hop onto the Oily jump forward to reach the end.

FILTHY FACTORY
Creatures:
Bloater (x3)
Technique:
When the level begins, jump to the left, up onto your tent, and then to the right, onto a Crumble with some armour on it. Hop over the Hoverconker ahead, and the then over the Oily just past it and you’ll find a Mortar. Because you got some armour, just run straight through him unharmed and you’ll come to some steps leading down, past a number of barrels. Keep jumping just to the right of each one until you reach the bottom, then jump over a small gap onto an Oily with some armour above it. When you begin to slide, quickly jump up to the left of the Oily and when you land, use your Bloater just above you. Jump into it and hold right, trying to avoid the Hoverconkers on the way, until you reach a pile of Blockers. Drop to the top of them and jump to the right in order to reach a platform with a Bouncer on it and a Mortar above. Jump through the Mortar with your armour and run right to reach the Wulf’s lair.

MORTAR MOUNTAIN
Creatures:
Golem (x2), Club (x2)
Technique:
At the start of the level you’ll find two barrels, with two bombs in between them. Run up to them and jump in between your four foes, before jumping over the second two and down to another platform. Here you’ll find a Leggy Bomb, simply jump over it and up onto the edge of the next platform, where you’ll meet a Dripper and Mortar. Use your first Golem to crush the Mortar, then press L to move it the left so you can reach the platform the trigger-happy foe was previously on. Jump up to the right a couple more times, over yet another Leggy Bomb, and you’ll find a platform with some armour on it that you just can’t reach. Use you Golem just to the left of the platform (but drop it from as high up as possible), then hop up to the platform itself and use L to bring the Golem there as well. Jump on your Golem and up to the 2nd floating platform, with a Mortar attacking you from above. Jump straight through his fire and run to the left, putting your armour to good use, then continue to jump over a Blocker and Leggy Bomb, before dropping down onto some more Blockers and ducking to avoid being hit. Wait a second and the Blocker will be destroyed, leaving you to simply run to the right to claim your prize.

INDUSTRIAL CARNAGE
Creatures:
Serpent (x2), Drooler
Technique:
At the start of the level you’ll see a Springy to your right, and on the platform above a Gusta. Quickly use your first Serpent just near the Gusta, and jump up onto it, before jumping over the Gusta itself. As soon as you land, jump up onto a pile of Blockers, just to the right of a barrel, and then jump in between two Hoverconkers to collect some armour, avoiding the Spike below. Jump over some more Blockers and then in between two bombs, with a Hopper ahead. Use your remaining Serpent to trap the Hopper and then jump up to the platform above to find a Whirlwind with some Hoverconkers above it. Wait until the Whirlwind moves towards you, then jump over him, through the Hoverconkers, to a path full of Hoppers. There are two sets of three, so it’s a good idea to time running under the first one, then just keep running and you’ll clear the next two. Once you’ve passed them all, you’ll find some steps going upwards with some barrels on them. Keep jumping from step to step over each barrel and landing on the platform above, just make sure you don’t land on one of the barrels and you’ll be fine. When you reach the top, simply jump over the Pleb and claim your prize.

HOUSE ON THE HILL
Creatures:
Sticky, Mysti, Boomer (x2), Blubba (x2)
Technique:
At the very beginning of the level, there’s a mortar just up above you. To get past it’s fire, you’ll have to practice your jumping, although usually trying to hit one of the bullets works. Once you’re past him, use your Sticky straight away below the Fatso, in order to get rid of him. Then, jump up onto to the platform just right of him, and over another Fatso. Keep running to the right and you’ll reach a gap that can’t be jumped normally, so use your Mysti as a platform to make it across the pit, and continue to run right, over two Barrel O’ Flames. Just after the barrels are some platforms, a Mortar and a Fatso; jump up the first two platforms you come across, and the up to a final, wooden one, which leads to a roof. Jump up and over the Leggy Bomb and then onto the platform ahead, before jumping over another one. After you have, he’ll start to run towards you, so jump over him again and the fire from the Mortar ahead should destroy him. Jump through the Mortar’s attack and then quickly use one of your Boomer’s to get rid of him, before jumping up to where he was and dropping down to a wooden platform, where you’ll see another just to the right of you and a Bouncer below. Drop down onto the Bouncer in order to spring yourself towards the next platform, and proceed by getting onto another roof and leaping over the barrels ahead. Jump to the next platform, over a Leggy Bomber, and dash forward as he follows you; you’ll come to yet another moving towards you, so jump over and the two will collide, destroying them both. Keep running right and you’ll meet up with a Whirlwind on the platform above; wait until he moves away from you, then jump up, leap over him as he changes direction and hop down the gap in the floor. Use your remaining Boomer on the bottom right of the screen to destroy two Spikes, the use your Blubba in the gap between the houses to your right, before jumping down after it. Then simply use your final Blubba above you and you’ll be launched up to where the Spikes previously were, leaving you free to run to victory.

HEAVY METAL
Creatures:
Phoenix, Golem (x2), Mysti (x2)
Technique:
As soon as the level starts, use your Phoenix and run through the Mortar to your right, over a gap with some Oily’s near it (you may have to stand on them to reach the other side) and then jump in between two barrels onto a Springy, which should launch your over the second. Quickly use your Golem on the Mortar to your right, and jump just past your brick-laden friend. Below you, you’ll see a Leggy Bomb, and above to the right is a Crumble with some armour above it; use your Mysti to reach the Crumble, collect the armour and hop down just below the next Mortar. A Leggy Bomb will run after you, but the Mortar’s attack should destroy him with ease. Quickly use your remaining Golem to destroy the Mortar ahead and you’ll come to two barrels, followed by a platform full of Plebs. Jump over the two barrels and run right through the Plebs, putting your armour to good use, then jump up to next platform and over a Leggy Bomb. Ahead of you is Gusta, so use your Mysti to block off its wind and then jump onto your creature and over the Gusta itself, before quickly jumping to the platform ahead, over the Leggy Bomb and to the Wulf’s lair.

WORLD 7 - TEMPLE OF IMHOTEP

TUMBLEDOWN TEMPLE
Creatures:
Golem (x3), Boomer
Technique:
When the level begins, run to the right and hop over the Cactus that’s patrolling a platform and up onto the next one. You’ll find a Whirlwind with some armour above it. Jump over it, collect the armour and then over an Oily just to your right, trying your best to dodge the Mortar’s fire and land on the platform below. If you do get hit you may want to restart if you’re aiming for a Rare rating, but if you’re happy with Gold, use a Golem to flatten the Mortar above, the use your second Golem just in front of you, giving you the ability to reach the platform ahead. If you did manage to avoid being hit, just use a Golem on the platform you’re standing on and jump through the attacking Mortar. You’ll then meet up with another Cactus, like before just hop over it and proceed to jump over the flaming barrels ahead. You may want to wait for the green barrels to stop spewing flames before attempting to leap over them as more often than not, they’ll catch you out. Jumping over the purple barrels should cause no problems, though. When you’ve got past all the barrels, run to the right and a Leggy Bomb will begin to chase you from your left, then another from the right. Simply jump as they begin to get too close and they’ll destroy each other. Keep on going, under a Dripper and over yet another Leggy Bomb, which will run off screen. While he’s gone, quickly use your Boomer above the Lure ahead, destroying the Blockers that are in your way, and leaving you to dash to the finish.

WATCH OUT BELOW
Creatures:
Serpent (x2), Boomer (x2)
Technique:
As soon as the level starts, run to right and jump over the Gusta ahead, before jumping to the right as soon as you land in order for the Gusta to carry you over three flaming barrels. When you land, immediately use your first Serpent to the left of you, just above the third barrel, and use it to reach the platform up to your right. Up there is a Cactus, so jump over it and run to the very edge of the platform, where you’ll find a Mortar. Quickly use you first Boomer to dispose of him, then jump over to where he used to be and use your second Boomer on yet another Mortar on your right. Just make sure you don’t stand directly in between the two, or a foe will burrow from underneath you, ending your run. When both are gone, keep running to the right until you get to a Spike, at which point you should jump over it and onto a platform with an Oily, before jumping over that too. Below is a platform with a Bouncer on it, so try your best to land on the very edge of the platform, then quickly use your remaining Serpent to reach the final platform with one more Bouncer and the Wulf’s lair on it. Simply jump over the final enemy to reach the end.

MAGICAL MAYHEM
Creatures:
Blubba (x2), Wizard (x2)
Technique:
The first thing you’ll see when Magical Mayhem begins is a set of three flaming barrels ahead of you, so start by jumping over the first, and then the other two in one leap. Start running to the right and hop over a gap with a Boostaconker floating around between it, and then over a Spike. You’ll then meet up with a Swell. Because it will block your path if you leave it too long, quickly jump over as soon as you can, then use your Blubba to bounce up to a platform to the left. Upon landing, quickly use your first Wizard just to the left of you, and when it fires, follow the beam, collecting the armour as you go. This powerful blast will destroy everything in front of you if you follow it, making this area very simple. Keep running and you’ll find another Swell; this time, just jump through it as you’ve got some body armour, then continue by using your second Blubba to reach a platform up toward your right. You’ll land on two Oily’s, but this shouldn’t affect your time at all. Just keep running, over the two Leggy Bombs and then over one final Swell to reach the end. After a couple of tries, you should get Rare easily.

THIS OLD HOUSE
Creatures:
Boomer (x5)
Technique:
This is a very simple level and you should have no problems getting a Rare rating. Begin by running to the right of the screen, then when you reach two barrels with a bomb in between, jump just past the bomb and then over the second barrel. Keep running, jumping over any foes you may come across, until you get to a platform with a Spike on it. Use your first Boomer on the Spike, and the jump up onto the platform, before jumping up once more onto another. You’ll find a Gusta block your way, so use your second Boomer to get rid of him, before running off the edge to the right. Keep going until you see a platform with a Hive just above it; jump onto the platform and then jump further right onto another one, and over a Swell. Keep holding right and simply dodge the oncoming foes to reach the finish, and hopefully a shiny, golden R.

WINGS OF STEEL
Creatures:
Club, Blubba, Serpent (x6)
Technique:
As soon as the level starts, use your Club to get rid of the Blockers in front of you. When they’re gone, jump over the Bouncer ahead and use your Blubba to reach the platform up to your left, before quickly jumping to your right to avoid being hit by a fire-throwing foe. You’ll see another Bouncer just in front of you; try to stay to the very left of the platform, then use a Serpent just above him, before using two more above the two Mortar’s in front of you in order to hop above them as well. There’s a Leggy Bomb down below, so jump just to the right of it, and let it follow you until you come to a barrel, at which point you should jump up in order for the bomb to destroy your flaming enemy. Keep going right and you’ll come to more barrels; jump over both of them and then stay just to the right of them, ahead of you are three Spikes at the bottom of the screen, a Hive just above you and a Burrower ready to pounce up and kill you if you stand in the wrong place. Start by using a Serpent just above the first Spike and running on top of it, then use another a little to the right, and then finally use your last one just in front of the Scorch ahead. Jump onto the final Serpent, over the Scorch and run to the right to reach the Wulf’s lair.

CRAGGY CRACK
Creatures:
Bloater (x4), Serpent
Technique:
At the start of the level is a gap, followed by a wall of Blockers and a Mortar. When you begin, jump just to the left of the Blockers and use your first Bloater to trap the Mortar, before jumping on top of it to dispose of it. Jump to the right and you’ll find a group of Boostaconkers; instead of trying to get past them, use your second Bloater to float up, past the Frosty’s and up to the platform on your left. You’ll find two Boostaconkers there, so jump over them and keep going left until you reach a Swell, at which point you should use yet another Bloater to get though the gap to your right, onto a platform with some Oily’s and Hoppers on. Jump underneath the three Hoppers and avoid each Oily that you come across. Keep running right and when you get to a Leggy Bomb, jump over it and quickly use your Serpent to reach the platform to your right with the Wulf’s lair atop.

TOWN AND OUT
Creatures:
Golem, Serpent (x3)
Technique:
Use your Golem near the first platform, and the jump up onto it and over the Scorch. Hop down over a Leggy Bomb and then leap over the gap to get rid of it. This leads you to a group of Scorches and an Oily on a platform above. Jump up onto the Oily, and the jump to the right once more to gain some armour. Jump to the right again and run under a Fatso; you’ll get hurt, but it doesn’t matter because you have body armour. To avoid falling off the edge, jump straight up into the air once then use your Serpent as a platform to bridge the gap between you and another platform with a Springy on it. Use the Springy to elevate yourself up onto a section covered in Oily’s; this will force you off the platform to the right, so keep running right and when you see a Leggy Bomb, quickly jump onto the small ledge above it. Ahead of you is a Swell that’s slowly growing, so quickly use a Serpent near it and jump over your foe to temporary safety. On the level below are a number of bombs and barrels, begin by jumping over the first bomb, then when the flames die down, jump onto the first barrel and over the rest. Now you’ll be at a dead end, apart from a few small platforms. Jump up onto the roofs, over two Blockers and a Scorch, and keep moving to avoid the many Burrowers that are littered around the place. After jumping over one roof, you’ll come to two Leggy Bombs; let the first one run right past, then jump over the second and it’ll charge towards a Swell ahead of you. As it hits, quickly use your final Serpent just above the Swell, jump onto and over it to reach the end.
