Retro Game Walkthroughs for Spider-Man: The Movie (Game Boy Advance)

Peter Parker might be able to do whatever a spider can, but at
the moment I doubt you can even stick to your diet, let alone
stick to walls. So I'm here to take you through the tough boss
battles in Spidey's latest GBA adventure.

BOSS WALKTHROUGH

Vulture Descends:
Vulture is the first boss and, naturally, the easiest to beat.
Stand in the middle of the screen, attacking Vulture whenever he
dares to divebomb you. Each time you hit him, Vulture will fly
off and attack from a different position, so keep a close eye
out for him. One thing that you'll definately want to avoid is
Vulture's grab attack, where Vulture will hover in mid-air for a
bit then try to grab you. To prevent him doing so, use a jump
kick to knock him out of the air and he'll fly off and attack as
normal. Do not try to climb the walls or use the swing points,
as these are prime positions for Vulture to grab you. Just stay
on the ground and attack Vulture as necessary. A few hits and
that old fogey will be sent back to the old folks' home.

Kraven the Hunter:
In terms of difficulty, fighting Kraven is a massive leap up
from fighting against Vulture. First of all, you'll need to hit
the two light switches to illuminate the room, as Kraven is
impossible to hit when it's dark. Kraven will occasionally try
to turn the lights back off, so just keep an eye on him and just
turn the lights straight back on again. When Kraven performs a
jumping attack (which he will perform straight after you turn
the light back on), this is your best chance to hit him with a
simple jump kick. Don't try to attack him at any other time as
it's more than likely that you'll end up as a red and blue smear
on the floor. Just avoid the knives and boomerangs and attack
Kraven whenever he does a jump attack, and he'll be sent back to
where he belongs: the zoo.

Shocker Showdown:
An easy, though not necessarilly welcome, fight compared to
Kraven, Shocker should still be handled with caution. You can
only attack him when he stops to laugh at you (nice chap), so
don't even attempt to do otherwise. Simply avoid his attacks as
best you can (swinging is by far the best way to do this) and
smack him in the chops when he stops to laugh. Eventually,
Shocker will fire up at the ceiling and try to bring tonnes of
debris down on you. When he does this, try to stay close to
Shocker when he fires up at the ceiling, then rush off so that
the debris hits him and not you. Doing so will inevitably bring
Shocker's health down to zero, leaving you to compliment him on
his vivid imagination.

A Goblin Is Born:
Another easy fight, your main concern when battling against the
Green Goblin should be to avoid the pit in the middle of the
screen. Green Goblin will simply attack by flying across the
screen, chucking pumpkin bombs at you whenever he feels like it.
Just attack him when he gets close, and eventually he'll be
beaten.

Scorpion Sting:
Scorpion shows the Green Goblin how boss battles should be done
in this challenging and sometimes frustrating fight. There is no
best time or situation in which to attack Scorpion, as he
attacks as and when he likes. Stay too far away from him and
he'll fire laser shots from that tail of his, but get too close
and he'll cause a whole load of hurt by slamming his tail down
on you like an X-Box falling off a skyscraper. The laser shot
isn't too difficult to avoid, so stay a safe distance away from
him and when he stops firing, jump in with a kick and a quick
flurry of moves before swinging away before things get nasty.
Scorpion is hard as nails when it comes to health so you'll need
to keep at it for a fair while, but stay focused and keep
attacking him and he'll eventually hit the floor.

Respect the Mech:
This fight relies totally on your skills at using various web
attacks. You'll need to hit the Mech's eyes, which sounds simple
enough but is made more difficult by the Mech's tendency to fire
a green laser at you (which is simple enough to avoid) but at
the same time release a swarm of smaller robots in your
direction. Nasty! Use the various web pick-ups that appear on
the right hand side of the room to hit the Mech's eyes; using
each pick-up as tactically required.

Hunting the Hunter:
This is by far the most irritating, frustrating and difficult
boss fight in this or any other game. The room is a death-trap
in itself, with spikes jutting out from the floor and ceiling,
and the red button (which you should do your best to avoid) on
the right hand side of the room fires a missile from the wall.
Before Kraven appears, avoid the sniper sight that takes follows
you around the room and takes shots at you, before Kraven
himself appears. It is possible to hit Kraven with the missile
when he jumps, but it's tricky and therefore best avoided as
it's more than likely that you'll hit yourself. Attack Kraven in
the same way as you did when you met him the first time round.
But what's this? Kraven gets out a bottle and replenishes his
health! But that's not all you'll need to worry about, as this
potion also makes Kraven twice as fast as he was before, making
him an absolute nightmare to hit. When you eventually do manage
to wear him down, he'll take out the potion again; once again
replenishing his health and making him even faster. He is now
ridiculously hard to keep track of and attack, and you'll need
to use heavier attacks on him as you get less oppitunities to do
so. If you eventually get his health down to zero, he'll admit
defeat and wait for the police "out of respect for you". See,
he's a nice guy really.

Goblin Showdown:
A disappointing last boss when compared to the hardcore
challenge that was Kraven, Green Goblin is harder to beat now
nonetheless. Use the same tactics as before, but keeping well
away from Goblin when he flies horizontally across the screen
while firing at the ground in a frenzy. A few attacks later and
he'll fall to the ground and you'll be fighting Goblin face to
face. While you're doing this, the Goblin Glider goes completely
mental; firing at the ground and dropping pumpkin bombs like
mad. Avoid these as best you can and land some well-placed combo
attacks on Goblin; who'll eventually fall flat on his face.
