Retro Game Walkthroughs for WWE Raw 2 (PlayStation 2)

WWE Raw 2 may appear to be a simple cookie to crack, but the season mode is very difficult in terms of gaining acknowledgement and becoming successful in earning a chance to win the prestigious championship belt. With this guide I hope to guide you through the comprehensive season mode, so you train to be a true master of the martial art of wrestling.

When you begin a career mode, I recommend beginning with either a created character who you feel comfortable with (you do this by registering you wrestler into the wrestler selection screen) or a low-key wrestler. I suggest this so you are gradually absorbed into the game, rather than diving in at the deep-end facing opponents of steel who will run your character all over the ring.

Once this is done, it depends upon your characters preferences to help you in creating allies or enemies. For example, if your character is likeable and ‘face’ then you will find it easier to interact with other wrestlers. Start off with complimenting your target ally/manager and interfering in matches to their benefit, to soften them up. You may then feel the need to approach your target, and ask them to be your manager, and you to be their manager respectively – like brothers, or something.

Obviously, do the reverse in order to create feuds (preferably with wrestlers in the same position as you, so you can dominate yourself up to the top, fighting well-known established fighters) i.e. keep attacking your target while they are in their dressing room, interfering in their matches and attacking them with chairs. This will make them a lot more vulnerable to creating hatred towards you. This is your first step to success.

Hopefully, you should find yourself slowly climbing the ladder, and you may discover that Stephanie McMahon or Bischoff will keep setting you up against your foe(s). An incentive would be to win King of the Ring, or a few belts (tag team championship, cruiserweight championship (obviously dependent upon your wrestler)) so you can gain some experience and become established as a wrestler.

The next step is to start creating enemies who are higher-up in the wrestler chain, such as the Rock, the Undertaker, Goldberg or whomever may be the current Champion in your season – again try attacking, or manipulating them until they appear on your enemies list. Once you have a heavy hatred for your enemy, try calling him/her out to arrange a match. If this succeeds you are on the right track, if not, do not worry, patience is a virtue, after all.

If you are unsuccessful with the previous step, try aiming to discourage wrestlers only a little higher than yourself in hope to increase your chance of fighting the top dogs. Hopefully through winning a few consecutive matches in Pay-per-views especially, you should be presented with a title opportunity at the ultimate Wrestlemania event. In this final face-off make sure you rest frequently to increase your chance of defeating the champion and becoming the victor.

With this note, you should have your opportunity at winning the championship, and whether you are the victor or not is down to you. If you follow this guide vaguely your chances of become successful within the first year of the career mode are increased drastically. Good luck young one, it is in your hands.
