Almost immediately, the reason for this game being held in such high regard was obvious. The concept is unique, the graphics are great, the town and dungeon navigation is unlike anything I’ve seen before, the character building is complex and fun, and the battle system is fantastic. The way the game uses the PSPs button formation is great and they have avoided the mistakes some of the other RPG creators for the PSP have made. I must name untold legends as one which "got it wrong"
You control Valkyrie, the god in charge of choosing souls to be transferred to Asgard, the land of the gods. Ragnarok (the war for the end of the world) is quickly approaching in Asgard, and Lord Odin requests that you find suitable human souls to help fight this war. For this task, Valkyrie must travel to Midgard, the land of humans. Her task is to track down souls of recently departed heroic and powerful humans to send to Asgard.
Once you do this, you have to level them up so they become strong enough to survive the war. You do this by bringing them through dungeons on Midgard and making them fight. You basically use these people to wipe out enemies of the gods.
As you level up you earn points that can be used to learn skills and improve your traits. Traits are very crucial to determining the Hero Value of a character (the higher, the better). Odin requires higher and higher Hero Value as the game progresses, so it becomes increasingly important that you improve your characters’ traits to raise that number.
I guarentee that if you enjoy RPG style hack and slash character upgrade games then this is for you.
