Killzone Liberation:- Online Multiplayer Guide.

What you will need.

1. PSP
2. Killzone Liberation
3. Wireless Network (with Internet)
4. 80 meg of free memory space

----------------
Getting The Patch
----------------

Press start to get to the main menu and click continue if you already have a saved game. Now scroll down to Download and press “X”

Your psp will now connect to your wireless network, so make sure your wifi switch is on. The game will inform you that there is a new download (you must scroll to the bottom of the wall O'text and click the orange “here” link using the “X” button.

Your psp will begin downloading, once it is finished press the “circle” button to install.

----------------
Starting the new mode
----------------

Now you have a new multiplayer option “Combat Zone (Online)”, select this.

Now you need to create an account, fill in the name and the password and then click “create account” it will ask you to confirm the name and password you want and then it will log you in. (your password and user name are auto saved, so you never have to enter them again)

The PSP will connect once again to your Internet connection through the wireless. This can take up to a minute.

Now you have a License Agreement, read it or just press “X” to accept it, unfortunately this comes up every time. Next you get the Killzone news, this we can assume will be updated over time but again just press “X” to get past it.

----------------
Combat Zone (Online)
----------------

Now you have a new menu system.

Quick Start

This will automatically start searching for online games, it will then pick one at random and auto join to it. It could be any game type with any number of people but like the name suggests it's the quick way to get in to a game.

Join Game

This will bring up a server list, it includes the server name, game mode, map, number of players and status. All these tell you what the game is going to be like when you join it. The status will say Waiting, finished or will have a Time on it.

Waiting means that the game hasn't been started yet, this is normally due to people picking teams, finished means that the game has just ended and the time is the remain amount of minutes and seconds left in that game.

You can join a game in progress but your team will be auto selected to try to balance out the teams to being even.

Host Game

This is where you can start your own game, you can decide the game name, game mode, map, time limit, starting weapon and a password.

*For information on game modes scroll down to the Game Modes section of this guide.

The password option is so that you can have a closed game to random players, you would give the password you set for this game to friends or another clan so that only they can join in, very handy if you ever plan to have organized matches against another team or people

Character

This is where you select what your character looks like, you can pick a model and a colour for both sides, ISA and Helghast, the further you have got in the single player missions the more character models you get to pick form.

Friends

This includes three tabs Friends, Players and Blocked

In the friends tab you can Remove, Add and Send Message.

In the players tab it appears to be a list of players that you have been in several games with (i am not 100% sure about this though). I assume this so that you can invite people as friends even if you don't know them, but have had some decent games with them. Your options are Send Friend Request and Send Message.

The Blocked tab allows you to stop people messaging you if you don't want to be contacted by someone. This will no doubt be due to the poor attitude that some players have to losing or to certain tactics in games.

Messages

This is where all your messages and invites are stored. Your Inbox tab is just a list of your messages you can read or delete them once you have finished with them. The invites tab is a list of people that have invited you to be on their friends list. The game invites is a list of games that people are hosting and that they want you to join, this is normally where you would get a password for a game to join if it is a closed one.

Statistics

This is a list of all your stats for the online games.

Level :- this is shown by stars of different colours and amounts showing your rank.
Leaderboard position :- your standing out of all the other players
Score :- your overall score
Games played :- the number of games you have played online
Total time played :- the total time of all the games you have played online.
Wins :- your total number of wins
Losses :- your total number of losses
Kills :- Your total kills
Deaths :- Your total deaths
Suicides :- The total number of times you have killed yourself
Team Wins :- Your total team wins
Team Losses :- Your total team losses

Options

This should really have been called Audio as it only contains sound options.

Communication allows you to select which input system you want to use, you can either use the message system or the Headset, selecting either will turn it on.

Sound is the volumes to the Headset, Sound FX and the in game speech.

----------------
Game Modes
----------------

Death Match

This is your classic game mode, it's an all against all battle with random spawn points for after you die, the main problem will be that the enemy is all around you so quick moving and keeping an eye out is important to staying alive.

The person with the most kills will win the game, the scoreboard leader will also have a logo on the screen all the time, telling you which direction they are in so it's not always an advantage to be first all the way through the game.

Team Death Match

This is two teams fighting it out, which ever team has the highest kills will win, the scoreboard a the end of the game will show the positioning for all players on both teams to show how well each person did.

Assault

This is a team game again, one team must place C4 explosives on objectives to blow them up, the other team must protect these objectives from being destroyed.

Capture The Flag

Both teams have a flag at each end of the map, you must collect the other teams flag and run it back to your flag to gain a point. It is the first team to get 3 flag points to win. If a player is killed with the flag then it falls on the floor, if it is a flag belonging to your team it will go back to your base, if it is another teams flag you can pick it up to run back to your base with to score a point.

Hints and other info
----------------

All around the maps there are supply boxes just like in the main single player game, you can get health, ammo, explosives and new weapons from these. The health will always be the same in every box until people start taking things out. The box will normally contain two different weapons, which you can swap your current weapon for. The explosives can be different as well, sometimes it will be lots of grenades other times it will be mines. This completely depends on which box you are looking in, so remembering the location of the box with weapons you want is important, and also for running to them to get heath back.

Use boxes as quick as you can, as people can attack you while you are in the menu and you can't do anything till you exit it.

In the health section of the boxes there are syringes, these are used to heal other members of your team, you need to make sure you have these and get used to using them in a fight as if there are two of you shooting someone you are much more likely to survive.

Grenades are used frequently, remember to double tap the left shoulder button to dive and roll away from them, you need to be quick as a grenade will take off about 80% of your health meaning it's only a few shot to kill you.

Get to a box and pick up a second grenade straight away, most people don't do this meaning they only have 1 rather than two, grenades are good to repel the other team for a while or to kill a few players at once so having two is even better as you can kill someone with full health if you use them both straight after each other.

Keep an eye out for mines, some people place them on the floor at supply boxes meaning you can't get to them, although this is annoying it is a good tactic as the enemy can't get their health back without being blown up. So learn to do it yourself if you fancy playing like that.
