Submitted By: Black8704
This walkthrough is a guide to the PS3 game Uncharted Drake's Fortune, I hope this will aid you on your way!

Your journey will begin shortly, make sure you're ready! The game opens with you and a reporter (Elena) finding the coffin of Sir Francis Drake. Instead of a body inside, however, you find Drake's journal.

1: Ambushed

This journal will be your key to all the puzzles of the game.

Unfortunately, before you can celebrate your discovery, pirates attack.
You'll have to fend off multiple pirate attacks. The first wave of pirates will shoot at you from their boats -- shoot them back. The second wave of pirates will jump off their boats and climb aboard yours; use either your weapon or close combat attacks to take them out.

Use cover to kill the first pirates who shoot, melee attacks to kill the ones who jump off and board your ship.

The final pirate attack is boat with a rocket launcher and a heavy machine gun. Don't bother to attack the crew, but take cover behind a box and wait it out. Sullivan will fly over in his plane and take them out.
Sully to the rescue.
You'll watch a cut-scene about Drake's longtime partner and friend: Sullivan. You and Sullivan decide that you can't let Elena tag along -- she might tell too many people that you are onto a big find -- so you leave her.

This isn't the last you'll see of Elena.

2: The Search for El Dorado

This mission starts you off in a very linear section of jungle. Follow the path and hop up the rocks before the waterfall. When the rocks drop off, search the area for your first treasure.

This is only the first of 60 treasures.

Treasure: Mosaic Inca Earring. Found along the river before the waterfall.

When you reach the waterfall, take a right into the forest canyon. You will run a short distance before a cut-scene plays.

Though your partner Sullivan might be convinced that you have come to a dead end, you can prove otherwise. Head into the small gap between the rocks, through which are ancient ruins.

There is a gap between the rocks.

Find the low, broken portion of the ruins; you can climb up here. Climb up the ruins and then jump across to the different sections; eventually, you and Sullivan will discover that there is hollow ground below you. Now you just have to find a way to break it.

Continue to follow the ruins until you come to a ledge that prompts you to use the O button to drop down. Drop down and shimmy until you are prompted to jump to a ledge across from you. There will be a large rock on top of the section of ruins you are on. Push the rock by hitting the Triangle button. Once the rock smashes through the hollow area, follow the new path that it opened.

Climb the ruins, find the rock, smash open the hollow ground. Simple.

The rock has opened a path into the bowels of the ruins. Head down the multiple flights of stairs until you reach the first chamber. Entering the chamber will start a long cut-scene; after it concludes, search the chamber for the large chasm in the room.

There's no turning back now.

Once you find the chasm, pull out your pistol and aim at the barrel across from you. The barrel will knock down a piece of the ruin that you can use as a bridge.

Aim at the barrels, shoot them, and use the large rock as a bridge.
Find the chains next to the large door on the side you have just now crossed to. Try to pull on them. Sully will take over and let you through to the other room, asking you to jam the door open. Go into the next room, grab the wagon that is right next to where you just came in, and push it into the doorway.

Use this cart to wedge open the door.

Once you and Sullivan are in the room, the cart will be crushed by the door. When prompted by Drake, hit the Select button to pull out Drake's diary (Drake's diary is used to identify key objects in ruins). You will now have to wait for Sully to light the brazier in the room.

Your diary shows the brazier with flames.

Lighting the brazier will also light the torches that are hanging in the room. Shoot the torch that is by the doorway that is blocked with wood; the fire should burn away the debris.

Use the torches to burn the debris.

Take a left as soon as you enter the next room. When the ledge ends, jump up and grab the hand holds above you. Now, using the stones in the wall, jump sideways until you reach a large tree root (it will look like a pole). Slide down the tree root and drop down into the area below you.

Use the hand holds to reach the tree root.

There will be barrels next to some rocks where you'd dropped down. Get to a safe distance and then shoot the barrels. Shooting the barrels will expose a ladder that Sullivan can use to get down to you.

Shoot the barrels to make a path for Sully.

Once Sully reaches your position, head deeper into the ruins. He will automatically light the next brazier that he finds. After he lights the brazier -- and it closes the door behind you -- just head down the one path that you have.

Eventually, after traveling through a section of hallway, you will find a large sky lit chamber.

Signs Diary Puzzle

Examine the signs in the diary carefully. Each of the four symbols has a number next to it. Now, while keeping in mind the order of symbols, climb up to the large tablets with the symbols, and push them in order from one to four.

1. Face the large, closed door in the room.

2. Push the tablets in the following order (keeping the door in front of you): forward right, back left, forward left, back right.

The floor will open. Drop down to where you left Sullivan and take the ladder into the hole.

The floor reveals a new path.

When you reach the bottom of the ladder, hit the Circle button to drop down to a ledge below you. Now, while holding onto the ledge, jump to the ledges to your left. After only two jumps you will reach a doorway.

Get to the doorway.

There will be large carved stone in the room that you have reached. Go behind the rock and hold the Triangle button to push it. Push the rock until it triggers a switch that partially floods the area with water.

Push this stone to make the water level rise.

Go back out into the area that you just came from. Now, instead of shimmying back to the ladder, drop down into the water below you (note: you can only do this because you have let out the water).

Swim to the low edge of the pool where you dropped into, and pull yourself out.

Treasure: Silver Llama. This treasure will be right next to the large rocks where you'd climbed out of the pool of water. It's about 10 feet from the edge of the water.

Once you are out of the water, follow the cave and then climb up the rocks where it seems to be a dead end. Now, to make it up and out, just jump from hand hold to hand hold until you reach the large tree root.

Climb the root to get back up.

Climb up the tree root and jump into the ruins hallway. Turn to where you can hear Sully's voice and shoot the barrels, blasting a way in for him.

Use the barrels to blow a path for Sully.

You will come to another set of chains to open a door. Grab one of the chains -- Sully will take the other -- and then mash the Triangle button until the door opens.

The door reveals a room full of catwalks.

Head out onto the catwalks of the room you have discovered. The room will start falling apart, prompting you to run across the catwalks. Don't stop running for any reason; just get to the other side.

Don't stop running!

On the other side, wait for Sully to catch up and then head up the large flight of stairs before you; you will enter another cut-scene.

Treasure: Golden Inca Cup. After the cut-scene -- but before following the tracks on the floor -- search the room that once housed El Dorado. Next to some skeleton piles you will be treasure on the left side of the room, if you were facing the holding place of El Dorado.

After the cut-scene, follow the gouges in the floor. The gouges will eventually lead you back out into the jungle.

Follow the jungle path until you reach a waterfall. You will see a ruined German U-boat; start working your way up to it until you get to another cut-scene.

Time to find out what a U-boat is doing in the middle of a jungle river.

3: A Surprising Find

From where the cut-scene leaves you, jump into the water and swim upriver. Once you reach the end of the sub, turn to your right and climb up and out of the river.

Swim to the rocks.

Find the rocks that lead to a vine. Swing back and forth on the vine by moving with the analog stick in order to get enough momentum to reach the rocks above you. Continue to work your way up the rocks, using your climbing skills -- shimmying and swinging.

Work your way across the rocks using the vines and ledges.

Treasure: Gold Tairona Pendant.

When you reach a ledge where you can shimmy to the left or to the right, head right and grab the treasure. Once you have the treasure, just shimmy back to the left and you'll be back on track.

At the top of the cliffs above the U-boat, it is time to work your way down. Go to the edge of the cliff and drop down. Now, using the edge, shimmy until you reach a large rock you can drop down onto. Use the rocks to jump down to the U-boat.

Drop down to the U-boat.

Treasure: Gold and Turquoise Inca Earring.

While still on top of the U-boat's main deck, head to the very opposite end of the ship from where you'd dropped down and collect the treasure.

Hop up onto the higher deck of the U-boat and take the ladder into the ship.

The ship is entirely linear; keep going through the passage ways until you come to a door that rusted shut. To open the door, mash the Triangle button and then, when prompted, rotate the analog sticks.

Get into the ship and find the first rusted door.

Keep going down the ship's hallways. You will drop down a hole into another deck of the ship, triggering a cut-scene in which Drake finds Spanish gold in the pockets of a U-boat crew member.

Spanish gold in a German sailor's coat?

Since you now know that the U-boat is connected to the treasure, follow the hallways of the ship and search for clues. You will come to another door that you have to open just like the previous ones.

Past the door, you must swim through a brief section of ship. After you swim through the ship, climb up the ladder into the Captain's quarters.

Swim through this section of the ship.

In the ensuing cut-scene, you will learn about the destination of the U-boat. The Germans were onto the location of the treasure! Now, using their map, your character will plot out your next destination on your journey. This would be good news, except something cuts Sully's radio off. Time to find out what it was.

Something cuts Sully's radio off--and right when you were about to celebrate.

After the cut-scene, make your way through the ship. Your character will go through only a few rooms until he reaches another door that has been rusted shut. Opening this door will start another cut-scene.

The door triggers one of the leftover torpedoes. Watch as Drake manages to escape, only to fall into the hands of Gabriel Roman, the man who Sully owes a lot of money, and his henchman. Gabriel followed Sully to take the treasure from him.

"I'm Gabriel Roman."

Gabriel will take the map from you and shoot Sully, but the explosion of the submarine will stun him just long enough for you to get away.

Use the distraction of the submarine to get away.

Now that the cut-scene is over, you must run until you meet your first enemy. Melee him and then keep running until you reach the ruins. You will enter into yet another cut-scene where Elena will pop back into the game.

Elena trailed you and Sully.

After you inform Elena of Sully's demise, she will give you a gun. Now, with gun in hand, fight off the attacking soldiers. Make sure to use the Circle button to take cover.

Treasure: Silver Turtle. See the ruins where you fought your first soldiers? Well, find the lowest one and use it to jump to the others. On top of one of the pieces of ruin is another treasure.

Work your way back through the ruins that you and Sully came out of. Follow the string of red flares until you reach the room that housed El Dorado. Once you reach the room, take cover behind one of the pillars and kill the two guards who come in.

Follow the red flares.
Head downstairs into the next area. You will be back in the room where the catwalks were destroyed. Conveniently, the same thing that destroyed the catwalk also made a new path for you. Jump across the pillars, kill the troops, and get to the other side.

Continue back through the ruins. You will be attacked by a large group of soldiers just after you get through the room with a hole in the floor. Kill the soldiers, gather their ammo, and then keep moving through the ruins.

Go up the ladder that you exposed for Sully and then take cover in the room with the brazier. Soldiers will poor in through the opposite door; kill them and then keep following the red flares.

Don't be afraid to fall back and find better cover.
Treasure: Decorated Gold Ring. The ring is in the large room just past the second brazier (the room where you shot an explosive barrel to make a bridge for you and Sully). The ring is on the opposite side of the chasm and on the right.

Kill the last soldiers and then exit the ruins into the jungle. Once outside, take cover and kill the attacking soldiers. Once the soldiers are dead, follow Elena to the jeep that the soldier's left behind.

Get to the jeep.
Entering the jeep will enter you into a long cut-scene: Drake and Elena have reached the island marked on the German map, only to be shot out of the sky by antiaircraft fire.

Good thing you have parachutes.
Elena jumps first, leaving Drake behind to guide the plane. Drake jumps out a few moments later, separating him from Elena.

Drake really doesn't have any clue what he's doing.

4: Plane-wrecked

Treasure: Unknown.

I didn't actually collect this treasure. However, I know that the treasure is located directly behind and to the left of where you started, along the jungle wall.

Follow the path through the jungle until you come to an iron door. Shoot the lock off the door and then hit the Triangle button to kick it open.

Shoot the lock and then kick open the door.

Go through the doorway and follow the jungle path till you drop down a ledge -- it's by a pool and a waterfall.

Treasure: Silver Fish Charm.

Go left right after you drop down to where the pool and waterfall are. Follow the wall of rocks until you see the glint on the ground. The treasure is about a foot or two away from a small thatch of palm trees.

Use the rocks to the right of the waterfall to start working your way up. The rocks will take you up and around the waterfall.

Treasure: Gold Frog.

Follow the river until you see it drop off to the left. Jump down into the pool below and climb the rocks; you will find treasure on the second rock up.

Follow the river and climb up the rocks. Cross the fallen logs and wait for enemies to try to ambush you. Take them out! Cross the second fallen log and climb the vine to the ledge where the enemies came from.

Kill the enemies and then go up the vine they came down.

Once you get up the ledge, search the area for grenades, which you'll find sitting on top of a crate.

Grab the grenades--you'll need them.

Continue following the path before you -- jumping up rocks where appropriate -- until you come to a large ledge overlooking a valley below. There will be a large piece of earth with stones in it jutting up from the valley below. Jump to the rocks and use them as hand holds to drop down to the ground below you.

Use the hand holds to drop to the ground below.

Soldiers attack you when you hit the ground; find cover quickly. Using the wide array of cover, kill the attacking soldiers. A sign that all the soldiers are dead is when the dramatic "fight" music stops.

Find the lowest pillar and use it to reach the ground above you. From the first pillar, jump onto the archway in front of you. Now, use the archway to reach the ground to your right (you'll see an iron gate).

Use the low pillar to climb up to another gate.

Treasure: Intricate Gold Ring. Instead of jumping to where the iron gate is, follow the archway along its L-shape and jump to the ledge that it points to. Once you jump from the arches, head left to the edge that overlooks where you were just fighting at. On the corner of the structure you are standing on is another treasure.

Work your way over to the iron gate on the level where the enemies were coming from. Kick the iron gate open by hitting the Triangle button. Soldiers will be on the other side of the gate so do not run into the area. Use the gateway as cover to shoot the soldiers inside the area.

After you have killed enough soldiers to make it safe, enter through the doorway and go forward and to your right. You will see another doorway; use it as cover to kill the soldiers in the area and then go through it.

Use doorways as a choke points.

Soldiers will attack you from the left as soon as you go through the door, so find cover! Once the soldiers are dead, head to where they were fighting from.

Search the area till you find an overhang that you can reach. Grab the ledge and use it to pull yourself up onto the platform above you. Jump to the platform that will be in front of you as you pull yourself up if you want to get treasure, or jump backwards to keep on with the story.

Continue the adventure or stop for treasure? The decision is up to you.

Treasure: Unknown. On the platform mentioned in the above paragraph, head left. At the very end of the walkway, just before it drops off, will be treasure.

Once you pull yourself up, jump to the platform behind you and use the series of platforms sitting on pillars to reach the next area.

Use the platforms to get to the next area.

Drop down into the next area and follow the linear jungle pathway. You will come to another valley full of ruins and soldiers. Use the ruins for cover and kill the soldiers.

Use the ruins to pull your enemies in to tight firing zones.

Once the soldiers are dead, find the corridor -- the only one going the opposite direction from where you just came -- and take it until you reach a destroyed bridge by large waterfall. Go right from the exit into the area and jump to the rocks. Use the rocks to reach a series of ledges leading to more rocks that you can use to jump across the waterfall area.

Use the ledges and hand holds to work around the waterfall.

When you reach the second section of the destroyed bridge, you will be ambushed from above. Take out these soldiers before you proceed.

Don't let these guys rain fire down on you unchecked. Take them out!

From the second bridge of the waterfall, jump to the rocks that will be upstream. Use these rocks to reach another series of ledges that will let you reach the third section of bridge.

Jump to the large rock that will be downstream from the third section of bridge. Jump to the next rock, which will give out from underneath you, and quickly jump to the third rock.

Enemies will now attack. Use the ledges to reach a platform that you can shoot from. Shoot the barrel in the back of the car, launching the vehicle into a space between the rocks.

Blowing up the car will wedge it into the rocks, allowing you to use it as a bridge.

Use the vehicle as a bridge to reach the next set of rocks. Jump from rock to rock and work your way up the final lesser sections of the waterfall.

Follow the rocks up and out of the river. You will come to a place where a long skinny rock juts out towards a large log. Treasure is nearby.

Treasure is just below you.

Treasure: Silver Inca Vessel. To get this treasure, simply hop down into the small area beneath the long skinny stone and the log. If you are standing on the tip of the long skinny stone, the treasure will be on the ground beneath you and to your right.

Jump from the tip of the long skinny stone and, using the Sixaxis to balance, cross the log. Once you are across, use the vines along the stone wall to get up.

You will now be at the wreckage of your plane. Several soldiers patrol the area. Use your highground position to take them out before dropping down.

Use the highground to murder them.

Drop down, kill the remaining soldiers, and then use the rope to climb up into the cabin of your crashed plane. Your character will retrieve Drake's map and then you will have to climb back down.

The plane got pretty torn up in the fall. But, you got the journal.

Soldiers will come from behind as you climb down from the plane. Take cover behind the rocks and fire your guns.

Now that the soldiers are dead, keep pressing forward. Just before you go through the large stone archway that is past the plane wreckage, more enemies will attack. Kill them and then proceed through the archway.

Go through this archway.

Treasure: Golden Toothpick. Go through the archway and walk to the edge of the cliff. Where the cliff meets the jungle is the treasure.

You are trying to reach Elena. You can see her parachute in the ruins of the fort ahead of you. Work your way along the coastline towards her.

There's Elena...or her parachute at least.

The cliffs will lead you into another portion of jungle. Find the first cover you can and shoot the soldiers. Watch out, though, for the soldier with a grenade launcher.

Push forward, kill all the soldiers, and gather ammo. Follow the path in front of you, watching out for the traps; the traps are set off by crossing the lines on the ground, so make sure you go around them.

Walking across a line that is tied between two poles will result in a QTE--pass it you live, fail, you die.

Treasure: Silver Inca Earring. After you get past the traps, instead of going right, take the path behind you and to your left. The path will go just slightly uphill, leading you right to a treasure.

Follow the path until you come up to the walls of a giant fortress.

Drake as he sees what he has to climb: "You have to be kidding."

5: The Fortress

Start working your way up the fortress walls. You will do so by using a number of hand holds and vines. Work your way along the wall until you find an open window, and then pull yourself up into it.

Work your way across the wall until you find an open window.

Once inside the fortress, follow the hallways until you find another open window on your right. Go out the window and, again, use the hand holds and vines to reach the next section of the fort.

Work your way along the wall.

Eventually the ledges will lead you to another window. When you are above it, hit the Triangle button to make Drake bust through it.

Closed windows don't stop Nathan Drake.

Follow the hallway of the fort until you find an open doorway. Use the doorway as cover to kill the soldiers in the next room.

Headshots really matter.

Once the soldiers you can see are dead, go into the room and move from cover to cover. Soldiers attack from the ramparts above you, as well as from the ruins in front of you.

Treasure: Strange Relic To get this treasure, do not run up the stairs where the enemies were firing from. Instead, search the ruins around you until you come to a two story wall with windows. Use the window frames to climb up to the top of the ruins, where the treasure is.

Once the area is secured, go up the stairs that lead to the rampart and then take a right. When you reach the end of the rampart, drop down the large stone shaped like giant stairs.

The stone of the fort will often be conveniently broken into stairs.

Treasure: Gold Mosaic Inca Earring

Turn around as soon as you drop from the ramparts. You will see two large archways blocked by iron gates. Search the archways for the treasure.

When you drop down enemies will attack. They will come out of the archway and down the stairs. Take cover at the base of the stairs and let them come to you.

Take cover at the base of the stairs and let the enemy come to you.
Taking the area beyond the archway is going to be tough. Head upstairs and use the archway for cover, killing all the enemies in line of sight. Once they are dead, it will be time to take out the heavy machinegun.

The machinegun will be to your left as you exit the archway. The shooter is practically impervious to small arms fire if he is facing you. Find a way to draw his attention away from you and then shoot him from the side.

Take the machinegun out from the side.

Go into the area and then head left. There will an archway barricaded with boxes; hop over the boxes and then go up the staircase on the other side.

The staircase will put you only a short distance from Elena's parachute. Look around until you see the tower with her parachute, and then go there.

Go to the parachute.

Treasure: Silver Jaguar While facing the staircase that leads up to Elena's parachute, head right. Jump over the gap in the rampart and search the small tower on the other side.

Searching Elena's parachute proves to be fruitless -- she isn't there. Go up to the window by her parachute and hit the Triangle button, zipping down to a radio, which you use to open a large gate.

The gate gets opened, but the guys coming out definitely aren't friendly.

Soldiers attack when you open the gate. Walk over to the door in the room, shoot the lock, and then kick the door open.

Shoot the lock and kick open the door.

Go out the door and use the high ground provided by the ramparts to attack the soldiers below you. You will have to fight at least two different waves of soldiers.

After the soldiers are dead, go back down the same stairs you used to come up and then proceed through the large gate that you opened.

As you go through the gate, a heavy machinegun will start shooting you from the right -- head left and drop down into the canal beneath you. Now, using the walls of the canal for cover, move up until you reach a good position to throw a grenade at the machinegun nest.

Use a grenade to take out the machinegun.

The explosion of the machinegun knocks down debris that you can climb. Climb up the debris and then drop back down into another flooded part of the catacombs.

When you drop into the water enemies will attack from all sides. Find cover and take them out!

Use the covers for pillars.

Once the enemies are dead, locate the wooden bridge that connects two pillars. Jump up on the small rock by this bridge and then jump up to the bridge itself. Once you are on the bridge, jump from platform to platform until you reach the large chain switch. Use the switch to open the gate before you.

Use this bridge to get up to the platforms above you.

Drop down into the next room. To get through this room, you'll need to activate the two chain switches on the right and left side of the room. Swim to the left side and find the hand holds that let you reach the left switch. Use the switch and then swim over to the right side of the room. Get up to the right switch and then use it. Now, after using both switches, swim to the bridge in the center of the room, opposite of where you came in.

Use the switches to flood the room.

6: Unlocking the Past

Follow the path up through the walls of the fort. As you come back out into daylight, you will be attacked. Take cover and shoot the soldiers on both ramparts and in the ruins before you.

Get up the ramparts.

Go up the ramparts and then immediately take cover from the soldiers. Once the soldiers are dead, find the chain switch by the tower and use it to open gates beneath you.

This switch opens the gates beneath you.

Treasure: Silver Inca Mask

This is located up on the ramparts, on the edge of the fort, in front of a giant tree.

Go through the gates you have just opened and use the crumbling pieces of ruins as stairs. Jump from ruins to ruins until you reach the rope that is tied down. Pull the rope (hit the Triangle button), and then watch as Drake destroys the ancient ruins.

Drake uses his weight to break the ruins.

Watch out! After Drake destroys the ruins, he'll fall to the ground and potentially be crushed by falling rocks. Watch carefully and hit the Circle button when the screen prompts you, otherwise Drake will die.

Narrowly escaping danger.

Use the modified ruins to get up to new areas of the fort. Move along, from hand hold to hand hold, until you reach a platform that takes you to a large tower. The platform will give out from underneath you, making it so you have to jump to the tower before it falls.

Jump to the tower fast or die.

Scale the tower until you find an open window. Now go from window to window in the tower, working your way up to the very top. When you reach the top, grab the keys by the rope and then use the rope to slide down to the base of the tower.

Use the inside and outside of the tower to reach the top. Use the rope after you get the keys.

Now that you have the set of keys, go back to where you dodged the falling rocks by pressing the Circle button. Search the walls in this area until you find a locked door. Hit the Triangle button on the door to use the keys you have acquired.

Use the keys to open up the next section of the fort.

You will enter the fortresses prison. Head down the cellblock until you reach another open area filled with enemies and a mounted machinegun; take out the soldiers and then move from cover to cover until you get close enough to the machinegun to lob a grenade at it.

Once the enemies are all dead, find the chain switch and use it to get past the gate. Head up the stairs in front of you and fight the enemies in the hallway.

Enemies will also attack from below. Use the machinegun -- the one you killed with a grenade -- to take out all the enemies on the ground.

The machinegun should make short work of the attacking soldiers.

Treasure: Silver Tairona Pendant

This treasure is found at the end of the stairs, after you pass the machinegun.

Keep moving deeper into the fort. Eventually, you will reach a room where you will find a drawing made by Sir Francis Drake pointing to the direction of a great tower. Kill the single enemy that attacks and then go up the staircase that he came down.

As you come out of the staircase, your attention will be directed to Drake's Tower; start making your way towards it, killing the few soldiers who get in your way.

Drake's tower really isn't that impressive.

To reach the tower, climb up the rubble and look for the white hand holds. You will have to pull out all your best monkey skills, but eventually you will reach the tower and find Drake's telescope.

"This must've been Drake's..."

Using Drake's telescope you will see both your next destination and Elena. Elena will be spotted by guards so it will be up to you to shoot them before they have a chance to shoot her. Shooting the guards will save Elena, but result in you getting knocked out by an explosion.

Don't give the guards enough time to shoot Elena!

You will come around in a prison. After a short cinema, where you meet the pirate leader Eddy Raja, Elena will break you out.

Elena doesn't give you much time to catch up, breaking you out of jail before Eddy even knows what's going on.

7: Out of the Frying Pan

Chapter seven starts with you and Elena on the run. Elena will do all the driving, but it will be up to you to do all the shooting. The R1 shoulder button shoots your machinegun, while pressing the L1 button shoots grenades.

The grenade launcher can kill any enemy with a single shot.

This level isn't challenging as long as you keep a watchful eye for enemies and pay attention to Elena's cues (i.e., if Elena says enemies are coming from the side, start shooting to the side). Fire the machinegun constantly and save your grenades for sure shots -- it kills all enemies in one shot.

When Elena cues you to enemies on the sides the camera will also shift in that direction.

Inside a cave, Elena will tell you to "shoot it out," pointing towards the rubble blocking the path. Launch a grenade at the rubble and you will be good to go.

Blow the rubble out of the way or you will die.

As soon as Elena uses the car to jump over a destroyed bridge, the level is over. Drake takes drastic measures to save you and Elena from the pirates, so just sit back and watch.

This jump should place you out of harm's way...or will it?

8: The Drowned City

You start off in the water that Drake crashed the car into. Swim to the shore and then shoot the remaining soldiers attacking you from the cliffs.

Head into the ruins and fight even more soldiers; Elena will be with you, so it helps to sometimes let her draw fire for you. Once the soldiers are dead, find the chain switch and go through the gate that it opens.

Go through this gate and get to the jet ski.

The gate will lead you to a dock with a jet ski. Elena will try to convince you to pursue the treasure, but you decide to just get to the port and take a boat off the island. After the cut-scene, get on the Jet Ski and start down the river.

Remember, move slowly on the jet ski.

Enemies will attack you from the buildings on the side of the river. The key to surviving enemy attacks is a) to blow up any and all barrels you see, and b) to drive slowly and use Elena's grenade launcher to blow them up as soon as you see them. Just remember, while you are aiming with Elena's launcher, you cannot move. Use this tactic until you get through the river surrounded by buildings.

Drive slowly and shoot barrels and enemies from a distance.

You will hop up a ramp and enter a port. Drive the Jet Ski to your left and find the dock. Press the Triangle button to disembark from the Jet Ski.

As you get off the Jet Ski, Drake's attention will be drawn to a cable between a tower and the side of the port you need to get to. Head towards the tower where the cable is bolted down, killing the soldiers who pop out.

Head towards the tower and kill the few enemies who stand in your way.

Treasure: Silver Frog This treasure is located amongst the ruins just past the soldier with a grenade launcher. Go into the ruins covered by a veranda and search by a pile of stones.

Follow the ruins until it leads you up a staircase. At the top of the stairs, turn right and start jumping between the balconies of the buildings. Use the balconies and windows of the buildings to reach a chain switch. Use the switch to open a gate that will allow the Jet Ski to get farther into the ruined city.

Open the gate and then wait for Elena to come get you on the jet ski.

9: To the Tower

Elena will come pick you up in the Jet Ski. Proceed through the city just as you did before, going very slowly, allowing Elena to blow up all the enemies and barrels.

Take it slow or you'll run right into barrels.

Eventually you will reach a large gate. Shoot the pair of chained up stones on the gate to open the gate.

Shoot the chains on either side of the gate.

Once the gate is opened, drive up to the dock and hit the Triangle button to disembark from your Jet Ski. You will be immediately attacked by soldiers, so hit the first cover you see.

Don't stop till they drop.

Go through the ruins and you will come to a small body of water. Kill the soldiers on the other side and then swim across. Most likely, several soldiers will still be alive; if this is the case, just jump back to the water when you need to recover your health.

Cross the water and then fall back to draw troops into your line of sight.

After you kill all the soldiers, head up the stairs to the higher platform and then use the ledges and platforms of the ruins to get past the closed gate.

Use the ruins to get up and around the closed gate.

Kill the soldiers on the other side of the gate and then proceed through the large wooden door to a tower. Kill the two enemies who will ambush you as you get into the tower and then use the switch to rotate the hanging chain two times (so that it is on your left).

Move the switch from your right to your left.

Climb the chain and use it to reach a higher level of the tower. Now grab onto the hand holds on this level of the tower and use them to go to the right. Use the switch at the end of the path to rotate the chain all the way to the right. Now, use the handholds to work your way all the way around to the chain's new position. Climb up the chain and use it to reach the next level of the tower.

As you pull yourself up onto the tower's highest levels, you will be ambushed by an enemy. Kill him, run up the stairs, and then use the tower's zip line to reach the port.

I'm not sure how he does this without destroying his hands...

You will land inside the port, with Elena on the other side of the heavy wooden doors in the room. Go up to the doors and shoot the lock, then press the Triangle button to let Elena in.

Shoot the lock and then kick that door open like a man!

10: To the Customs House

Now that you and Elena are reunited, head up the stairs and into the port's customs house. When you reach the platform at the top of the stairs, drop down into the customs house and then go through the large wooden doors.

Drop down and go through the doors.

Treasure: Jeweled Golden Brooch Turn around after kicking the doors open for Elena and check the left corner of the room you are in.

You will enter a cut-scene where you will find a room full of the ship manifests. The manifests will indicate that El Dorado did in fact pass through the area. Despite the lure of treasure, your character makes up his mind to continue seeking the escape boat.

"I'm afraid this is as close as we're getting to El Dorado."
Once the cut-scene concludes, head up the stairs in the library until you reach a large room filled with enemies. Kill the enemies and then go up the broken stair case in front of the doorway to the room.

Treasure: Silver Belt Buckle This treasure is located on the wooden planks at the top of the broken staircase (look for the glint).

Kill any remaining enemies and then find the chain switch in the middle of a two-way staircase. Use the chain switch and then run through the door before it closes.

Use the switch to open the door and escape the room.

Another cut-scene will start. Elena will decide to stay behind while you go and get the boat. You suspect that she is up to something, but agree to leave her behind.

"Okay, what are you up to?"

Shoot the lock and then kick open the rusty metal door on the balcony.

Jumping to the next balcony will trigger a context-sensitive situation. When Drake falls onto his back and begins to slide, press the X button to save him quickly.

These context sensitive moments only happen a few times, but failure = death.

Continue to jump between the balconies, taking out -- or running past -- the soldiers in the room. There will be a rusted metal door blocking the last balcony; shoot the lock on the door and it will fall, granting you access to the last balcony along the wall.

Cross the balconies and shoot the door open.

Once you are on the last balcony, use the chain switch to open the gate to the inside of the customs house.

Use the switch to enter the next room--be ready, it's full of enemies.

11: Trapped

You will enter into an extremely large room of the customs house. Once you reach the bottom of the stairs, enemies will attack in masse. Use the various cover of the room, along with the massive amount of weapons lying around, especially the sniper rifle found near the bottom of the stairs to kill them. Once they are dead, head up the staircase on the opposite side of the room where you entered and use the switch to open the gate.

After you clear the enemies--and there are a lot--use the switch on the opposite side of the room.

Go through the gate and work your way down to the boat. When you reach the boat, Elena will join you and show you some important footage she has captured. The footage shows Sully, your presumed dead partner, alive and working with the enemy. Shocked from what you have seen, you miss the boat off the island. And, since your transportation off the island is gone, you decide to head north -- in the direction that the enemy took Sully -- to the Monastery.

Sully's alive? Does this mean he betrayed you?!?

After the cut-scene ends, head up the stairs that you are facing towards and kill the enemies who stand in your way. When you reach the top of the stairs, don't rush into the room since there are a lot of enemies. Instead, hang back and shoot the enemies from the stairwell.

Drop back down the stairs if the color starts to drain from the screen.

Once the room is secured, head up the two-way staircase and take a left onto the wooden planks. Go across the planks and then onto the ancient suspended bridge.

Treasure: Spanish Gold Coin

To get this treasure, take a right up the two-way staircase and search the destroyed platform that it leads to.

Get across the bridge and then take a left. Go across the two-way staircase and drop down to the jungle ruins.

Cross the bridge and drop down into the jungle.

Treasure: Silver Spanish Chalice

Once you cross the suspended bridge, head left and go down the two-way stair case. Search the rubble around the bottom of the staircase and you will find the treasure.

Follow the jungle floor until it leads you to a hallway that goes back into the fortress. Go up the stairs in the hallway and fight the enemies in the room at the end of the hallway.

Treasure: Gold Coatimundi

When you exit the hallway and enter the room with the soldiers, search behind the wooden boxes and you will find this treasure.

Take the stairs in the room up a few flights until they lead you back outside. Kill the soldiers in the area and it will start a new chapter.

Let Elena get their attention and then flank them.

12: Heading Upriver

The main difference between this level, and the previous two Jet Ski sequences, is that Heading Upriver is going upstream on a real river, not amongst ruined houses.

The river moves much swifter now.

Due to the strong currents of the river, the Jet Ski will be hard to control, forcing you to pay careful attention on how you maneuver. Just keep pushing against the tide and shooting the barrels as they flow downstream towards you. You should also keep in mind that Elena only has a pistol, not her awesome grenade launcher.

It isn't a grenade launcher, but it's still the most powerful pistol in existence.

Barrels won't be your only threat; you also will have to shoot numerous soldiers. Just take your time and use Elena's hand cannon -- it's really only a pistol, but it is definitely more powerful than normal and never needs to reload -- to kill them.

Hang back and shoot--Elena is ridiculously accurate.

Eventually you'll reach a calm body of water. Locate the dock and disembark from the Jet Ski.

Hitting Triangle will get you off the jet ski and start the next chapter.

13: Sanctuary

Go up the stairs by the dock, kick down the wooden door, and then immediately take cover -- enemies are on the other side. Kill the enemies and then cross the bridge that goes over the small stream.

Kick open the door and then kill the enemies--you'll take a few hits as you kick it open.

Treasure: Golden Turtle There is a section of the left side of the bridge that passes by a water wheel. Drop down from the bridge and land on the cement by the water wheel, collect the treasure, and then climb back up on the bridge.

The bridge will lead you to another iron door. Kick the door right out of the frame and climb up the multiple flights of crumbling stairs.

Kick open the door and head up the stairs.

The cut-scene will show a soldier who has been killed by a trap. The trap has been made recently, implying that the soldier was killed by a third party, who or what, remains a mystery.

The trap is made out of parts of your plane...who could have done this?

After the cut-scene, go to your right and pick up the pistol amongst the trees. With your new weapon in hand, continue down the path before you, crossing another crumbling set of stairs that will lead you to a group of enemies.

Roll to avoid laser sights.

Laser Sights These enemies will kill you with a single shot if you let them target you for long enough. Roll to throw off the sights and then shoot them.

Kill the enemies in the area and then head up multiple flights of stairs that will take you into another cut-scene. During this cut-scene you learn that Sully is in the library ahead of you.

Use your high ground position to kill the soldiers below you. Drop down and kill the additional soldiers who jump out to ambush you. Remember, if the enemy has a laser sight, roll to avoid being killed in a single shot.

Head into the ruins before you and then take a right. Go to the corner of the plaza and take cover. Camp this position -- watching both the hallway to your right and to your left -- until you have killed the majority of the enemies.

Defend the hallway.

Find the open doorway on the ground level of the plaza. Go up the stairs and then take a right as soon as you enter into the chamber. Now, using the various ledges in the room, work your way across to another iron gate that you have to kick open.

This is where you start from in this room.

Go through the gate and down the walkway. After a short distance, you will find an open doorway on your left. Go through the door and then drop down to the ground below you.

Treasure: Jeweled Silver Cross Search the area around where you'd dropped down and you will find a small alcove. Search the rocks in the alcove for the treasure.

Find the barrels packed against the door to the previous area. Get to a safe distance and then shoot the barrels, allowing Elena access to the room you are in.

Shoot the barrels and Elena will enter.

You and Elena should now go to the large wooden door. Walk up and use the switch and wait for Elena to open the door for you; you in turn will hold the door open for Elena.

Mash Triangle to open the door.

Treasure: Silver Toothpick If you hop over the stone handrail to the right of where you'd entered, and head down the walkway to its end, you will find treasure.

The area you have just entered will be highly defended. The best way to kill them is to go down the stairs in front of you and then turn left towards the larger stairway. Run up the stairs and take cover along one of the brick pillars. Once you have this position, let the enemies come to you and move out only after you have taken care of any immediate threats.

This column provides cover from every enemy in the area.

Treasure: Silver Coatimundi While you are still in the large courtyard, find the giant hallway. Go through the hallway and then search along the walls of the area.

Go to the library across from where you'd entered the area, and walk straight up to its front door. The door is impassable, forcing you to find an alternate route. Head left from the front door and take the stairs on the side of the library up to a hole in the building's second floor.

Enter the building through the gaping hole in its side.

Entering the library will start a short cut-scene that shows the captured Sullivan. However, before you have a chance to get the drop on the enemy, you'll be sighted and forced to fight off his kidnappers.

Stay on the second floor and move from cover to cover, along the railings, until you have killed all the enemies. A cut-scene plays when you have killed all the enemies.

Kill the guys who are on the level you are on and then fire on those beneath you.

The cut-scene will prove that Sullivan didn't betray you, but instead was captured by Roman. He survived the shot because Drake's journal stopped the bullet. Now, reunited with Sully, you have once again mustered up the gusto to pursue El Dorado again.

Matthew, Mark, Luke and John Diary Puzzle

Climb up onto the bookshelves in the center of the library. Once on top of the shelves, hit the L2 shoulder button so that it prompts you to pull out your journal. Each of the bookshelves has a different animal on them. You can rotate the animal statues and must do so according to the inscription in your diary.

Examine the diary carefully.

The diary tells you to rotate the statues so that they face the following cardinal directions (to determine if they are facing in the right direction, use the compass on the floor in the center of the library:

Matthew (the angel): Must face north.

John (the eagle): Must face east.

Luke (the Pegasus): Must face south.

Mark (the winged lion): Must face west.

Once the statues are properly aligned, a bookshelf will reveal a hidden passageway.

Go through the door that has opened.

Go through the bookshelf and down into another level of the library.

Treasure: Golden Cup and Cover Search the left wall in the library from where you came in.

Torch Diary Puzzle

Find the large stone carving on the wall of the library. Pull out your journal when prompted and Drake will say, "The inverted torch leads to the land of the dead."

The torches you need are located to the left and right of the stone carving.

Rotate the torches 180 degrees from their starting position; this will open the carving and reveal a passageway into a mausoleum.

14: Going Underground

Go down the stairs and head into the bowels of the mausoleum.

This chapter is aptly named.

Treasure: Golden Inca Vessel

Before the stairs into the mausoleum ends, and just as you enter the first burial room, turn right and grab the treasure.

Continue into the mausoleum and stop when you enter a large chamber that has a waterfall. Use the ledge that extends off the platform you are on, to shimmy and jump around to the staircase next to the waterfall.

Use the hand holds on the walls to reach the staircase.

Go up the stairs and fight the enemies. When the enemies are dead, use the chain switch in the area to open a gate, which in turn allows you to get into the church.

Run to the gate before it closes.

The church is filled with enemies -- snipers in the loft of the room, along with troops armed with grenade launchers amongst the pews. Take cover behind one of the large stone pillars.

Use the pillar as a defensive position.

Bell Diary Puzzle

After the church is secured, head up towards the altar. On either side of the altar will be large iron bells -- ring one.

Pull out your journal and Drake will read the line, "Two bells resound in perfect harmony."

The diary is trying to tell you that both bells must ring at the same time. You can't run fast enough to ring both bells by hand, so what's there left to try? Shooting them, of course!

Shoot both bells and watch in amazement as a stone wall slides away to reveal a hidden passage.

Now just go through the passageway...

Go through the passageway, down the giant ladder, and drop into the depths of the mausoleum.

Treasure: Silver Spanish Goblet Search behind the coffins in the room right after you drop off the ladder and enter the first burial chamber.

Make your way through the various burial chambers, killing the enemies as you go. Eventually the chambers will end and you will have to climb up a few ledges to reach the next level of the mausoleum.

Climb, climb, climb.

You will be in a room with a series of stone platforms. Jump from platform to platform until you enter a cut-scene.

Once the cut-scene is complete, jump across to the exit from the area you are in.

Jump for it!

Treasure: Silver Ingot After the cut-scene, jump across to the platform the leads out of the area. Check around the side of the small staircase and you will find treasure.

Continue through the hallways of the mausoleum until you come to a chain switch. Use the switch to open the large door before you.

Use this switch just like the countless others before it.

Treasure: Gold and Ruby Inca Mask

Search to the left of the chain switch for the treasure.

15: On the Trail of Treasure

Coming out of the mausoleum, go up the stairs straight ahead of you, then turn left and take the stairs to the tombs. Climb onto a tomb and jump up to the ledge above. Now, using the ledges and vines, work your way across the wall and up to a broken stained glass window.

Your going to have to use all of Drake's tricks to reach the window.

Drop down from the window, turn, and go down the hallway -- you'll know it's the right hallway because enemies will be shooting you from it. Kill the enemies and then go down the hallway. At the end of the hallway, jump to the wooden planks and work your way across the room to the hallway.

More platforming on....platforms.

Go through the hallway, past the courtyard, and enter into a room with a vine. Use the hand holds in the room to reach the vine and then climb up it. The vine will lead you to another stained glass window. Go through the window and into the upper level of the church.

This vine will lead you into the upper catwalks of the church.

Treasure: Golden Spanish Goblet Before you set off to solve the stained glass window puzzle, search the area around you. You will find a small room with the treasure.

Stained glass Window Diary Puzzle

Looking at the picture in Drake's diary tells you that the key lies with the symbol inscribed. There is a window on the far side of the church with the symbol, but how do you open it?

You have to open the window with the above symbol on it.

The answer lies with the giant keys on the walls. There is a large key on either side of the stained glass window -- get to them and pull them down.

Imagine that, the doors are opened by keys.

As you pull both keys, watch as the stained glass window lowers to reveal a hidden chamber. Now just work your way over and into the chamber.

It will look like the chamber is a dead end. However, if you look carefully amongst the windows, you will find another symbol appearing like your diary. Walk up to the window and a cut-scene will begin.

The window will open to show you the way to the treasure.

Treasure: Jeweled Golden Cross Inside the secret chamber. Hang a right just after you go through the chamber and follow the hallway to dead end.

During the cut-scene you will finally see the treasure vault. But, despite Sully's best intentions to lead the enemy astray, he has led them right to the vault.

Drop down to the nearest hand hold and start working your way across the wall; when you reach the vine, drop down it.

Things are going to get rough when you drop down to the ground.

While Drake may say he wants to sneak past the guards undetected, we found this to be nigh impossible. Instead, we recommend that you find the sniper rifle on the boxes where you'd dropped down. Use the rifle to snipe the enemies with grenade launchers and laser sights. Once these guys are dead, move into the graveyard and kill any remaining targets.

Treasure: Golden Inca Mask

The mask is just to the right of the large mausoleum you are supposed to go into. Search behind a large gravestone with a cross on top.

Go into the mausoleum to meet up with Sully and Elena. Walk around the room until you're prompted to pull out your diary.

Symbols Diary Puzzle

There are several round stones in front of the tombs in the room. Each stone has a symbol on it that corresponds with a symbol in your diary. Rotate the symbols so that they look identical to the way they do on the diary.

Make the tablets match the above picture.

Here is a list of which symbols to rotate and how to rotate them:

Goblet: leave it alone.

Arrows: rotate 180 degrees.

Book: leave it alone.

Anchor: leave it alone.

Crown: leave it alone.

Snake: rotate it counterclockwise 90 degrees.

Shell: rotate it 180 degrees.

Once the symbols are matched, a tomb wall slides away revealing a hidden passage.

Yay, you get to go even deeper into a tomb.

16: The Treasure Vault

A cut-scene will begin where you and Elena will be separated from Sully. Once it ends, go down the passage way before you. Follow the passage way until it opens up into a massive room filled with stairways.

Treasure: Silver Cup and Cover Don't follow the numerals that guide you through the room. Instead, run past the numeral II that you see and hang a right at numeral IV. Go up the stairs and follow it up and around (past numeral I) and stop just before VI -- the treasure is before you.

Staircase Room Diary Puzzle

Don't let the size of the room scare you, because this puzzle really isn't that bad. Look at the Roman numerals on the side of Drake's map. As you can see, Drake wrote II, V, and VII. The room is filled with platforms and Roman numerals, but unless it is one of these, do not follow it.

Follow these symbols first (note: do not stray from the path before you but follow the turns and never take a path with any number other than the three from the journal):

II, V, V (climbing the stones up), II (at the water wheel).

Once you are at the water wheel, walk up to it and hit the Triangle button repeatedly. The wheel will now activate, rotating chains into new positions in the room.

You need to get to the chain that has rotated, so head back down the stairs and take the first right. Jump to the chain and climb up it.

Now follow these numbers:

V (past the swinging torch), II.

Eventually you will come to a path that has three swinging torches. Do not try to time your movements past these. Instead, drop down and jump between ledges while shimmying. Pull yourself up after you are past the torches.

Jump between the ledges to avoid the torches.

Stay on the platform and work your way up around to where there is a pair of symbols. Go down the path marked with a II and follow the path marked by a V. To get through this path, you must past several swinging torches. (Time your movements across the torches.)

Once you are across, you will enter a short cut-scene that ends with a context-sensitive situation. Press the Circle button to save Drake before he falls to his death.

After you fall, follow the VII path to an elevator. The elevator will collapse, leaving you on the bottom floor of the room. The collapsing of the elevator will also open up a window, allowing you to access the other room.

To get to the open window, go upstairs and then jump between the window sills until you reach it.

Use the window ledges to reach the now open window.

There will be a chain to your right as you come through the window (the chain also has a II next to it). Climb up the chain and then get into the elevator. The elevator will collapse, opening the large gate and letting Elena into the room.

Ever feel like Elena needs to start pulling some of the weight?

Cross the bridge right across from the gate that opened. Follow the II path until enemies break into the room and attack. Kill the enemies and then find the Roman numerals again.

Take the path marked V to where the soldiers are, and then jump to the path marked by a II to enter into the tower marked with a VII. Exit the tower through the doorway that is marked with a V.

After the enemies are dead, go up the stairs marked with a V and use the chain switch. Go up the ladder that the switch activated, and then work your way up the catwalk that wraps around the tower.

Once you reach the top of the tower, make a right and go down the stairs marked with a VII. Follow this path up and around another tower. The path will eventually take you into a huge mausoleum.

Congratulations, you have officially made it past the puzzle room.

A cut-scene about the body of Sir Francis Drake plays after you leave the room. Oddly., Drake never made it off the island, having died while searching for the treasure.

"Wasted his life for nothing."

17: The Heart of the Vault

Walk around the vault until you are prompted to hit the L2 shoulder button. Once you have seen the ladder in the room, walk to where Elena is and press the Triangle button to give her a boost.

Elena will have to find a way to get you up to her.

Elena will climb the ladder, leaving you to deal with Eddy Raja, who has been trapped in the room with you. Eddy, watching in terror as his last soldier is murdered by a monster, will be too afraid to fight you.

Once the cut-scene ends, it will be up to you and Eddy to kill the monsters, long enough for Elena to lower a rope. Keep moving and don't stop shooting; if you need ammo, search along the perimeter of the room. And, if the monsters happen to get on top of you, shake the Sixaxis controller to push them away.

The shotgun is an excellent weapon to use against the monsters.

You will know you are done with the first wave of monsters when a cut-scene starts that shows Eddy being killed by the monsters. When the cut-scene ends, just keep moving and shooting.

Grab the rope that Elena lowers into the room. After you reach solid ground, run down the hallway and just blind fire behind you. Don't stop running until you reach a cut-scene showing you and Elena locking the monsters behind a door.

The door should hold them...at least for a while.

Elena and you will find left over documents from the German soldiers who occupied the base. You will learn the exact location of El Dorado, but unfortunately will not be able to use the elevator in the room due to the lack of power. Now it is up to you to find a way to turn the power back on.

This elevator ain't going anywhere without some power.

18: The Bunker

Jump out the window that Elena has broken. Now, climb up the pipes and use them to move along the wall of the bunker.

Jump out the window and then use the pipes.

You will come to a section of catwalk. Use the length of the platform to get a running start so that you can leap to the next section of piping. Shimmy across the pipe and then follow the path down into the bunker.

Use the pipe to reach the inner parts of the fortress.

Pick up the first MP40 that you come across (they are scattered throughout the bunker). Their long clip, combined with ample supply, will make the MP40 your new weapon of choice.

Follow the hallways until you come to a decaying mess hall. Go through the mess hall and into the next portion of the bunker, where you will be attacked by monsters.

The monsters will come out of holes in the walls.

Continue through the hallways of the bunker, killing all the ambushing monsters as you go, until you finally reach the generator room. Find the large green generators in the room, and hit the Triangle button when you're near it. After Drake grabs the handle of the generator, rotate the analog stick until the generator starts to work again.

Crank the generator to turn it on.

The starting of the generator is only the first step. Now, a cut-scene will start that will direct your attention to a circuit breaker that you must flip on.

Got to get to that switch.

19: Unwelcome Guests

Just because the generators are on, it doesn't mean the power is back on the base. You must find the circuit breakers, the first of which is located on the other side of the door with the flashing red light. Unfortunately, there are now several monsters standing in your way. Get movin'!

Generally shooting a monster into an explosion of blood is a good thing.

Only kill the monsters that get in your way -- they won't stop coming. Your goal is to reach the switch, so just keep moving until you reach it. Activate the switch with the Triangle button.

Activating this switch is only half the fight.

Activating the first switch will open another door with a flashing red light. Repeat what you just did and activate the second switch.

Now you just have to reach the door with the white light.

Once both switches have been activated, a door opens with a large white light above it. Go through the room and then watch as Drake shuts the door just in the knick of time.

You stopped them, but for how long?

Now that the power is back on, it's up to you to make it back to Elena. Head back through the hallways and get to the mess hall. You will watch a short film in the mess hall proving El Dorado is cursed, turning those who find it into the monsters you have been fighting. And, once the movie has ended, you will be attacked by several of the beasts.

Kill all the monsters and then find the closed door in the room. Open the door and then proceed down the hallway until you reach a control room.

Follow the white lights to the control room.

You'll see that Elena has been captured by Roman and Navarro. Enemies will enter the room and attack you after the cut-scene. Take cover and shoot the enemies as they come out of the hallway.

Use the boxes to shoot the enemies who come up the stairs.

Go downstairs, through the hallway, and out onto the docks of the bunker. Fight your way across the dock -- you'll have to fight the monsters -- and move slowly through the bunker as you fight both soldiers and monsters.

When you see soldiers and monsters fighting one another, pull out a grenade and toss it into the mix.

You will come out on the other side of the dock. Pick up the sniper rifle and shoot the soldier in the window of the control room. Go to the end of the dock, turn left, go back into the bunker, and then climb up the ladder in front of you.

Turn into this doorway to end the chapter.

20: Race to the Rescue

The ladder you've climbed will lead you back up to the jungle. Since you are back on the surface, you'll contact Sully, only to find out that he is pinned down at the church. Book it down the path before you so that you can save him.

Enjoy the sunlight, it won't last long.

Kill the two soldiers who are attacking Sully and then find cover by him. Several more soldiers will now attack, including many with laser sights. Take cover, kill the troops who are coming at you, and then finish off the laser sight soldiers.

Don't worry about the laser sight troops until the ones who are approaching are dead.

Treasure: Gold Spanish Chalice After killing the soldiers, search the ground to the left of the church, where the church meets another building and you'll find treasure.

Go to the church and open the main doors. You will be attacked as soon as you enter so quickly move to one of the large pillars and use it for cover. There will be sniper rifle against the left pillar; use the sniper rifle to kill the troops with laser sights.

The sniper rifle kills any enemy with one shot--even if you hit them in the foot.

Head down the church's main aisle to trigger the second wave of enemies. Once they enter the room, fall back to the pillars and use them for cover. Kill these enemies and then run all the way down to the altar.

There will be another sniper rifle inside the church.

Enemies will attack from the entrance to the church. Use the wax covered pillars of the altar as cover. After you kill the remaining enemies, walk up to the altar and then watch the cut-scene.

The vault is somewhere right around here...

21: Gold and Bones

Drop down into the hole below the altar. Now move through the tunnels of the catacombs until you trigger a cut-scene.

You have finally reached the real treasure vault.

You and Sully have finally discovered the resting place of El Dorado. Unfortunately, Roman and Navarro have reached it first. You are forced to drop your weapons and watch as Roman inspects the treasure.

"The craftsmanship, I've never seen anything like it before."

Navarro convinces Roman to open El Dorado, telling him that the real treasure lies inside. Unfortunately for Roman, all that is inside is a diseased corpse, which quickly turns Roman into one of the monsters you have been fighting. Navarro knowingly diseased Roman so he can take the treasure!

Roman suffers the same fate as the Spanish who came before him.

Things are looking pretty grim; Navarro is taking the treasure, you and your friends are captured, and are likely to be killed. That is, until the monsters show up and even the odds, allowing you and Sully to knock out a pair of guards and take their weapons.

You're about to need every round of the shotgun you stole.

Stop Navarro from running up the stairs with Elena! Head left from where you started and work your way up the stairs. Do not try to jump in the water and take a shortcut; you will be pulled under by monsters.

You can't see them, but they are under the water.

Run past the monsters and kill the guards on the stairs. Once you reach the top of the stairs, run and jump onto El Dorado.

Drake could give Michael Jordan a run for his money.

Navarro's helicopter will tow you all the way to his boat, where it will crash thanks to Elena.

Elena brought down the chopper, it's up to you to bring down Navarro.

22: Showdown

It's up to you to stop Navarro from taking El Dorado off the island. This entire chapter is basically one big boss sequence.

Navarro fight #1

Take cover behind the cargo containers on your right and take out Navarro's soldiers. Don't bother to waste ammo on Navarro; he can't be hurt. Also, make sure to watch out for Navarro's attacks. He fires uncontrolled shotgun shots and then pops out and does one shot that is laser sighted; if his single laser shot hits you, it's an instant death.

Hang back when Navarro fires. Watch his pattern and you should never get hit.

Killing Navarro's three guards will force him to flee to the next set of cover. If you need to, gather ammo and then hop over the boxes into the next area.

Navarro fight #2

Just like before, take cover and take out Navarro's soldiers. Navarro still can't be hurt, and will still be repeating the same pattern over and over. If you need more ammo, hop back over the crates and gather ammo from the soldiers who died in the first Navarro fight.

Hang back and kill the soldiers and you'll be just fine.

Kill Navarro's soldiers and then follow him as he runs. Boxes will fall from above as you pursue, so press the Circle button in order to avoid being crushed.

This is not the last you'll see of quick time events.

Navarro fight #3

You can't hurt Navarro in this fight, either. Take cover behind the boxes and shoot Navarro's three guards in front of you.

The soldiers will come down the stairs.

Once the soldiers in front of you are dead, a final soldier armed with a grenade launcher appears on the landing pad above you. Kill the soldier and watch as Navarro flees yet again!

Unless you are playing on Easy, you have to kill this guy before he shoots.

Navarro fight #4

As soon as you reach the landing pad, take cover behind the boxes right in front of you. You lose your gun in the cut-scene, and now must get close enough to punch him.

These boxes won't last long against a shotgun.

Navarro shoots twice and then has a downtime before his next shot. As soon as he fires his second shot, roll to the next cover, moving from box to box, until you get close enough to attack Navarro.

From this position you just have to rush him when he is not shooting.

You don't actually fight Navarro by mashing the buttons, but instead fight him through a pair of context-sensitive situations. To defeat Navarro in your first melee fight, press the following buttons as prompted:

Triangle, Square

Navarro will lose his shotgun, but will also knock you down.

Get to him before he gets that gun.

Quickly run to him before he has a chance to shoot you and then press these buttons when prompted:

Triangle, Square

Navarro has been knocked out, so you go to check on Elena. Navarro gets up, but is dragged under the water by the helicopter that you'd knocked over.

"Adios, asshole."

The adventure is over. And, just when you think you're leaving empty handed, Sully shows up with a whole boat full of treasure.

It may not be El Dorado, but it's still a helluva a lot of gold.

Just like all good stories, it ends with you riding off into the sunset.

You got the gold and the girl; what more could you ask for?

Hope this has helped you complete a great game with beautiful visuals!
