Your game begins at the training facilty. This walkthrough will guide you through all of the missions and also the bonus missions at the end of the game.

Before you begin missions 1 you must go to the training camp to test your skills

Training: F.N.G.

Character: Sgt. 'Soap' MacTavish (SAS)

First, grab the rifle off the table, its location -- like all objectives in CoD -- is indicated by a yellow circle on your compass. Notice that the yellow circle will show your distance from the objective, which you can use to determine the correct path to the objective.

After grabbing a weapon, you'll go through a series of exercises teaching you the basics of shooting: shooting while aiming, shooting from the hip, shooting through cover, transferring your aim, using a sidearm, and using your knife.

The training teaches you the basics of aiming and shooting through cover.

After knifing the watermelon, it's time to move on. Head west to the yellow objective marker and meet your new squad.

Here is an easter egg which nobody has mentioned.

Before you go into the hanger to meet your squad. Look to the left towards the south. You will see three soldiers through an opening in the chain link fence. Go through the opening and you will be at the beginning of an obstacle course. you can run the course. You can also go up to the observation area.

It doesn't give you anything but the knowledge that Activision didn't skimp on the little things.

Take the CQB test after the brief introduction to your new squad. Essentially, it will be up to you to run through a fake "cargo ship," completing all the objectives in less than sixty seconds. First, climb the ladder and grab the MP5 and flashbangs at the top of the platform.

To start the test you have to rope down to the deck.

Now that the test has begun, shoot all the targets as they pop up at position one. Follow the red arrows and go to position two, where you'll shoot a target at the bottom of the stairs.

Position one and two.

Proceed down the stairs to position three. This position requires you to throw a flashbang through the door before you go in and kill the targets that make up position four.

The next two positions reverse what you just did. As you enter the room for position five, two targets will pop up; shoot them and then throw a flashbang through the door at position six. After throwing the flashbang, you'll have to kill the final two targets in the room.

Once all the targets have been neutralized, you'll be prompted to go to the final position. Press down on the Left Stick to activate your sprint.

After finishing up the exercise you can either do it again -- for a better rating -- or you can head to the yellow objective on your compass to start the next mission. This exercise is only for suggesting a difficulty level but the suggested level is not set in concrete, there is an advantage to beating the top time of 19 seconds in that you get an achievement, but if you aren't one playing for gamerscore just take your time and get on with the game. Once you've had enough of the exercise, proceed to the monitors that your squad is standing by, prompting you to pick your skill level and start the game.

NOTE:
For those of you that are interested in the achievement points for getting through in under 20 seconds heres some very helpful hints. First, accuracy is the key by getting near 100%; 3 seconds will be shaved off your time. Also, right after you "kill" the two guys in section 4 you will no doubt be getting low on ammo and the costly time of reloading is detrimental to your time. So make sure you quickly switch to your pistol, knife the two at section 5, and cap the two at section 6 making sure you sprint the entire time only stopping to fire some well placed shots.

Next is the start of the missions:

1: Crew Expendable

Mission One: Crew Expendable

Character: Sgt. 'Soap' MacTavish (SAS)

You start the mission on board a helicopter. Once you fly in close enough to the ship (it'll be on your right), you automatically rope down onto the boat's deck.

Once you land on the deck, you and your squad will have to silently kill the crew manning the ship's bridge. You don't even have to shoot them; your squad will take care of them for you.

You can kill them if you want, otherwise your crew will do it for you.

With the bridge crew down, follow your squad to the next objective marker. You will go down a set of stairs and to a hallway with a drunken soldier. Let your squad silently take him out before proceeding. After killing him they will take out the sleeping crew.

*Note = This poses an excellent opportunity to easily get the Achievement "3 of a kind" by running ahead and knifing the drunken soldier first then the two in the bunk before your team can shoot them.

Intelligence: After your team execute the sleeping soldiers in their bunks, you will find a laptop beside the TV next to them.

You will now proceed onto the ship's cargo deck. You and your squad will fan out and slowly proceed south across the deck. You will hear prompts from your squad that targets have been spotted above you; just let your squad take them out. When you get to the opposite side of the ship, you'll fight a brief firefight. The enemies will be in the second floor windows.

Proceed to the left side of the ship and wait for your team to breach the door. Let your squad mate with the shotgun go in first.

Follow your squad into the ship and down a level. Once you get down a level you will fight several troops. Don't worry. Your squad will do most of the shooting for you.

Backtrack to the place where you've just killed the troops, and follow your squad to another locked door. Your squad will open the door and then take the room by force. You will enter on a catwalk after your team throws in a flashbang and the enemies will be below you. Shoot those you can see from your elevated position and then proceed down the stairs on the far side of the room from where you'd entered. You will probably have to clean up a couple of remaining soldiers.

Intelligence: After your team enters the catwalk you will see below an access floor panel that has been removed with a large pipe running underneath it illuminated red, the laptop is next to the floor panel.

After finishing off the remaining soldiers, let your squad breach the door next to the stairs you just came down.

Through the door, you will move up a flight of stairs and into another cargo room just like the one you were in before. Again, shoot all the enemies you can -- especially the ones on the catwalk across from you -- and then proceed down the stairs on the opposite end of the room.

Now that you are on the main deck of the cargo room, you'll have to fight a sizable force of enemies. Take cover behind one of the crates and then slowly move forward and kill the remaining soldiers in the room.

After all the soldiers are finished, continue to move towards the yellow objective marker on your compass. It will lead you to an opened door with tons of enemies behind it. Let your squad go through first, then follow. Your squad will take out most of the enemies in the immediate vicinity, but you must pay close attention to the enemies to the left of the entrance. Kill them and then proceed to the yellow objective marker in the cargo room.

You have reached the objective, so your team will open the cargo doors and discover the nuclear contents of the container. Let your team give their spiel and then, once prompted, grab the objects on top of the container.

Go into the cargo container and grab the flashing documents.

When the objectives are secured, exit the ship. However, the ship will be attacked and you must escape before it sinks. Price will lift you to your feet. Follow your squad out of the ship, and if you get lost, look for the yellow objective marker on your compass. Make sure you stay in the middle of the path and listen to what your squad mates are shouting, if you take a wrong turn you will die and have to start over. Also, when you first run along the catwalk make sure you're pressed up against the top of it when going through the door because the debris will often trap you and sometimes you can get stuck up against the rail.

Try to keep up with your other troops or you will die.

Once you have the helicopter in sight, it will start to take off. Make sure when you get to the edge of the ship you hit the A button to jump onto the helicopter.

The mission is now over.

2: Blackout

Mission Two: Black Out

Character: Sgt. "Soap" MacTavish (SAS)

The mission starts in a dark swamp. The first objective is to work your way to the loyalist troops waiting to assist you. Before you can do that, though, you have to silently eliminate the guards at the post.

The first post in the southwest will have two troops outside the building and another two inside the building.

Intelligence: An intelligence laptop can be found in the first guard house. It should be sitting on a table.
After taking out the first guard post, follow your squad northwest towards the yellow objective marker. Right after you come under a bridge you'll see a house.
There won't be any guards outside the house, so proceed towards the smaller barn that has a light on. You will see the guards' shadows as you approach. Kill the pair of guards before they can alert any other enemies around the area.

Their shadows will give away their position.

The building next to the small barn will also have a couple of troops in it. If they are alerted, just let your squad take them out as they come; otherwise, kill them silently.

With the guards dispatched, proceed down the road until you come to a run down house. Your squad will stop outside it, while you proceed through and meet with the Russian Loyalists.

After meeting with the Loyalists, proceed northwest towards a new objective marker. Once you are at the location, you will switch to your sniper rifle and provide cover for the Loyalists. Make sure you kill the soldiers manning the machine guns. You will have to shoot one of them through the wall.

Run to the sniper position and then kill the MG nests in the building.

Once your sniping has secured the allied advance, helicopters will attack. Follow Sgt. Kamarov and Gaz to the west of the sniping position. Proceed through the destroyed house and out into the open field.

In the open field, you will encounter a large number of troops. Use your grenade launcher -- accessible by hitting Left on the D-pad -- and bomb the enemies who approach. With the enemies thinned out from grenades, just use your rifle to finish them off.

After the last of the troops in the field have been killed, Sgt. Kamarov will need you to use your sniper rifle to cover his troops on the ground below you and to the northeast. Head to the yellow objective marker and start sniping!

Once you have killed the enemy with your sniper rifle, you're given a new objective: get to the power station. Go north to the yellow objective marker, where your men will strong-arm Sgt. Kamarov so that he tells you where your informant is.

With the location of your informant marked as your new objective, you will have to rappel down the wall and travel northeast.

After reaching the ground level you will have to fight your way through a building filled with enemy troops. Proceed slowly and let your squad fight with you. Get through the house and head north up the path towards the house with the informant.

Follow Price to the door you are going to breach through. Wait till he goes through the door and then turn on your night vision goggles by hitting Up on the D-pad. Once your Captain is in the house, follow him and secure the building; going room to room until you reach the informant.

Use your nightvision once you are in the house.
Intelligence: An intelligence laptop can be found in the bathroom to your right after you reach the top of the second floor stairs.
Once you have the informant and he is armed, proceed southeast towards the LZ -- it will be marked by the objective marker on your compass. After reaching the LZ, board the helicopter and the mission is over.

Mission Three: Charlie Don't Surf

Character: Sgt. Paul Jackson (USMC)

The mission starts you off in a helicopter. You and several other marine platoons are heading into combat. You'll have to sit back and enjoy the ride until you reach the spot where the helicopter forces you to exit.

Once you land you will be given a new objective marker on your compass. Follow it to the building, where you and your troops will breach in through the doorway.

Proceed into the building and down the stairs. Go slowly and check the corners, making sure to kill all the enemies.

Intelligence: There is a piece of intelligence in the room adjacent to the one that you'd entered as you come down the stairs. Look on the desk and you will see a laptop.

After killing the enemies in this room, proceed towards the objective marker on your compass. Go to the door where your team is waiting and throw a flashbang. After it pops, move in and clear out the room.

Now that you have cleared out the room, proceed through the open door at the other end. You will come to a staircase that you will go up, which will lead you back out into the city.

Once you are in the city follow your squad southwest and then turn east towards the yellow objective marker. You will encounter heavy resistance on the streets. Watch for enemies behind cars and on the rooftops.
Watch Out for Cars: Cars can be useful cover, but they can also explode. If you are behind one, watch out for fire. If the car lights on fire, it is only a matter of time before it explodes. More importantly, if you encounter enemies behind a car, you can shoot it to make it explode and kill them.

After fighting the first wave and proceeding just slightly east, you will trigger a large battle. There will be a ton of cover made from sheet metal. Take cover behind a piece of sheet metal and hold your ground. Shoot the enemies directly across from you, and then work your way around the right side of the sheet metal ruins, killing the remaining troops.

Shoot the troops who are an immediate threat through the sheet metal, then move around and flank the remaining enemies.

Shoot through cover: Some light cover can be shot through. Enemies hiding behind sheet metal, plywood, or some plaster walls can be shot. Keep this in mind when approaching a defended position.

After you finish off the enemies around the sheet metal you will have to head north into an alley. Do not rush into the alley because as soon as you enter you will trigger another wave of enemies.

Go east through the alley and make a right at the next corner, continuing towards your objective. You will come to an open area in the city, where there is a car-mounted machine gun and enemies in front of you. Scout out the location of the machine gun and then shoot the gunner from the safety of cover.

After killing the machine gunner, head to the north and then turn east towards the objective. You will enter into a series of tight corridors. Enemies will be on the rooftops, so check your corners.

Intelligence: if you search the rooftops in this area you will find another piece of intelligence. It will be accessible from a staircase on the ground level.

You will come to the ruins of a building. This will trigger another large firefight. Fall back to where you just came from and shoot the enemies from a distance. At this point you will be about 50 meters from your objective.

Kill the enemies in the ruins and then continue northeast towards the objective marker. You will see the TV station and be prompted to breach into the building. Follow your squad into the building and take out any enemies in the immediate area.
Follow your team and let them go through the doorway first.

Head northeast through the first couple of rooms, killing all the enemies that you come across. Enter the room full of large computers, then head southwest into a large room with a ton of cubicles. There will be a shotgun available just as you enter; switch the shotgun out for your pistol.

Kill the enemies in the room by rushing across the room and into the small closet in the northwest part of the room. From here you can snipe the enemies trying to take cover behind the cubicles.
Go into this closet and then use it as a firing point.

Move out into the room and finish off the remaining soldiers. When all the soldiers are dead, your troops will open a new door to the second floor. Follow them west through the door and then up the staircase in the south part of the room.

Once you get to the upper part of the floor you will come to a series of windows. Look out the windows and provide supporting fire to the troops below you in the southwest.

Then, continue south out onto the roof, where you'll turn left toward the northeast into the building. Your team will lead you up onto a higher portion of the roof. Proceed through the open door on the roof towards the objective.

Prepare for another breach into the broadcasting room. Get to the door, stand with your troops, and let them enter the room first. You will find that the enemy isn't in the room, prompting a dialogue that ends the mission.
Enter the room and you will find no one is present.

Mission Four: The Bog

Character: Sgt. Paul Jackson (USMC)

The mission starts you and your squad on top of a freeway. Proceed southwest down the road.

As you get to the other side of the road, enemies will attack you from a building to your right. Shoot the enemies in the windows and then get on the right side of the road, where Lt. Vasquez will direct you down some stairs. Take the stairs and enter the building on the enemy's flank.
Shoot a few enemies and then rush down the stairs.

Equip your night vision goggles when you've entered the building. Proceed south into the ruins of the building, then turn southwest and go up the stairs.

Save Roycewicz: Walking up these stairs, the allied NPC, Pfc. Roycewicz, will be attacked. If you act quickly and kill the attacker, you will be rewarded with 20 achievement points.

Once you get up the stairs you will have the chance to shoot numerous enemies who haven't detected you. Kill them without mercy.

Now that the enemies in the hall are dead, head south by southeast and find the enemy machinegun nest. Use the machinegun to shoot the enemies straight across from the nest.
Intelligence: After you have flanked the enemy troops, it is now time to advance towards the objective. However, if you head back down the hall that you just came from, you can find the two marines who are breaching a door. Follow them through the door and you will find some intelligence on a desk.

Now that you have flanked the enemy, head back down the stairs you came from and follow your troops west by southwest. You and your squad will then engage in a large enemy force. Hang back with your troops and shoot them through the windows.

Shoot from the windows before moving out into the open.
As soon as you get outside of the door, go to the building to your left. Once you are in the building, take out the remaining troops out amongst the car wreckage.

Proceed to the second floor of the building after you've secured ground level. When you get to the roof you will trigger a wave of enemies in the overpass. Shoot a few of them to pass the time until the tanks arrive.

Once prompted about incoming enemy armor, you will be given a new objective. Head downstairs and get a Javelin missile. Just follow the yellow objective marker on your HUD and you will see the missile next to one of the cars.

Pick up the Javelin missile and get up to the second floor. The tanks will be on the overpass, working their way from north to south. Aim at a tank until the missile gives you a lock and then fire it. After the missile leaves the launcher you don’t have to continue to aim at the tank. Repeat this until the tanks are all destroyed or fleeing.
Once you are locked on fire the missile in an open area--it has to have enough room to ignite.
Get back down to the ground level, where all the cars were, and head north through the chain link fence.

Intelligence: Before you drop down a little embankment with a wall in front of you, within the mini market in a corner you will see a laptop laying on the ground.

Continue to follow your squad through the alleyways and under the overpass. After you get past the overpass you will see the tank stuck in the bog. Fight off the enemy troops in the area to save the tank.

After fighting the enemy back, your team will be ordered to secure the western approach. Head west towards the new objective marker and kill all the enemies you come across. You will see a building as you progress towards the objective. Head into it, kill the enemies, and then plant C4 on the antiair gun.
Go through this building and blow up the AA gun.

Now that the antiair gun is destroyed, you will have to plant an IR beacon to designate your position to the incoming allied helicopters. Head west to the yellow objective marker and place the IR beacon in the large glowing circle.

The helicopters will come in and destroy the remaining troops, prompting you and yours squad to regroup at the tank. Once you do this the mission is over.

Mission Five: Hunted

Character: Sgt. 'Soap' MacTavish

The level starts off with your helicopter getting shot down. Don't worry, this is supposed to happen.

Once the helicopter hits the ground, follow your squad west towards the extraction point. You will start down a dirt road and then have to get under a bridge to avoid detection. Move out only after Capt. Price gives the order.

After sneaking under the bridge, you and your squad will head south into a group of houses. Let Capt. Price enter the buildings first, then follow right behind him.

You will see an old man being held up by a group of terrorists. Shoot them fast or the old man will be killed -- there is an achievement if he lives.

The important thing is to kill the guy closest to the civilian.

After the immediate threat has been eliminated, head west into the fields. You will have to go prone to avoid detection by the helicopter. Move only when the Captain gives the order.

You don't have to get down, just make sure you stay out of the beam.

Travel just a little farther west to a house with a basement door. Once you reach the house a group of enemies will be unleashed behind you. Hold them off until Gaz can get the basement door open.

Hold out behind the tractor and then rush into the basement when the door is opened.

Head up the stairs of the house and search for an exit. You will have to fight a few troops who have breached the front door. You will be flashbanged as they enter -- but keep shooting! If you successfully kill a soldier while flashbanged you will earn the Daredevil achievement.

Head west out of the house and proceed through the buildings. You will be assaulted by a mixed force of troops and dogs.

Intelligence: The intelligence is located in the building directly opposite the exit door from the house with the basement.
After fighting through the enemies, proceed west towards the extraction point. You will encounter a group of enemies who won't know your position. Stay out of the spotlight, don't get close to the enemy, and you will avoid detection almost the entire way across the field.

Across the field, you'll proceed north through the greenhouse. Use the greenhouse for cover as you shoot the enemies on the other side of the structure. Do this until you clear out all the enemies in the immediate area.

Now that the greenhouse is no longer useful for cover, proceed southwest towards the objective. You will have to fight through another greenhouse and then overtake enemies who are behind cover at a barn.

Intelligence: The intelligence is located just to the north of the barn that contains the Stinger missile.

Kill the enemies in front of the barn and then clean up the remaining forces inside. There should only be two to three enemies left.

Don't let the troops in the upper level of the barn get the drop on you.

With all the enemies on the ground destroyed, you only have one enemy left: the helicopter. Grab a stinger missile from inside the barn and fire at the helicopter. It will avoid the first shot, so grab a second missile and let the chopper have it.

The chopper takes two missiles to kill.

After destroying the chopper continue southwest on the road. You will encounter a large group of enemies. Do not engage them. Let the Captain call in an airstrike, which will destroy most of the enemies on the ground. Clean up the remaining enemies and then run down the road. The mission is over.

Just watch as your air support blows away the entire enemy caravan

Mission Six: Death From Above

Character: Thermal Imaging TV Operator

This mission places you in control of the guns of an AC-130 Spectre gunship. You have three weapons to choose from:
25mm Gatling Gun: Your best option for precision shots, the Gatling gun does very little collateral damage and also has the greatest level of zoom.
40mm Bofors Cannon: This weapon is your middle-range cannon. It has a relatively high rate of fire and works well for almost the entirety of the mission. It does do splash damage, though, so watch that you don't destroy any of your own men.
105mm M102 Cannon: The M102 is a weapon that should only be used when your allies are no where near the blast radius. The explosion from the weapon is huge, making it possible to

When you start the mission, you'll be restrained from firing your weapons. Wait until your commander gives you the OK to fire weapons and then unleash fiery hell. Watch out for two targets: your men, designated by their strobe lights, and the town's church. Do not destroy either of these.

Hitting the church of the guys with flashing strobes will result in a Mission Failure.

Listen closely to the dialogue of your gunship FCO, since he will spot targets for you. Just shoot any soldier or vehicle on the ground without a flashing light. Also, make sure that you watch where your own troops are shooting; their tracer rounds will show you where the enemies are.

After you've killed enough of the soldiers in the first village, your troops will commandeer civilian vehicles. Wait until they get into the vehicles and mark them with strobes.

Now that your troops are driving vehicles, it will be up to you to stop enemy ambushes on the road and in the next village. Destroy the troops next to the road, on the roofs, and in enemy armor.

Blow up the armor and the troops on the rooftops of the building.

Once the village road has been secured, your troops will drive to a junkyard and exit the vehicles. Troops will attack them at close range, so stick with the 40mm or 25mm cannons.

Eventually you will trigger enemies to come from all sides. Your own forces will be surrounded and you will be prompted to use only the 25 mm cannon -- to avoid friendly fire. Switch to this weapon and fend off the remaining troops.

Defeating the final enemy ambush will clear the way for your helicopters. The mission is over, so just watch your troops fly to safety. This mission is very hard to fail unless you shoot friendlies or the church, just keep looking for people, most will be enemies but just wait for a second before you shoot to see if the target is throbbing.

Mission Seven: War Pig

Character: Sgt. Paul Jackson

Mission seven takes place a few hours after The Bog. The engineers have freed the tank that was stuck and you now are going to push forward into enemy territory.

There is a sniper rifle right next to the burnt out car where you start -- switch to your pistol, take the rifle, and then snipe all the enemies who are in the immediate area.

After you kill enough of the soldiers, enemy choppers will come in and drop reinforcements. Unless you want to fight a heck of a lot more ground troops, we recommend you find a RPG and take the choppers out.

After the choppers and/or troops have been taken care of, head west towards the objective. You will come to an archway that has the road blocked off by a truck; just wait a minute and the tank will come and clear the way.

Clearing this car is about all the good the tank will do this mission.

The tank will stop just after it breaks through, prompting an enemy assault. Alternate between the cover of the tank, and that of the cinder block wall, in order to survive the enemy onslaught. Enemies will be coming at you from down the road and from the rooftops to your right.

Clear the enemies on the roofs before hitting the ones on the street.

Intelligence: It is located on the corner building on the second story. It is on top of a dresser.

Intelligence: It is on the second story of the building parallel to the first intel piece. On the very farthest room

Fight your way down the road and then take a right when it dead ends. From here you have to go West towards the objective. There will be more enemies in both the first and second story windows of the buildings on both sides of the street. Use grenades, or the grenade launcher attachment of your gun, to take them out.

Remember to take cover: things like cinder block walls or store front windows are there for you to use. They are scattered throughout most any urban mission and will often offer you an alternate route to get to the enemy; rather than just forcing you to always do a head on assault.

You will come to a portion of the road where it is blocked by a bus. When you get to this point, go north into the buildings and fight from room to room. After getting through the first building, proceed west into a house that will give you a flanking position on the bus.

You will be ordered to go and flank the enemy on the right. Follow your squad out into the alley behind the building. Two of your squad will start to push a dumpster, use it for mobile cover. The enemies will be on the road in front of you as well as in the second story window of the building at the end of the alley.

Grenade launcher rounds are good at clearing out the upper floors of the buildings.

After you have killed all the enemies in the alley, your soldiers will move to breach into the building where the enemy was shooting from. Follow them in and secure the building.

Intelligence: There is a computer with intelligence on the second floor of the building your team breaches. It is lying on a bed.

Once the building has been secured, head up to the second floor and watch as your tank destroys an enemy tank.

Now that the enemy armor threat has been eliminated, you only have to make it to the extraction point. Head south towards the new objective marker; you'll only have to travel a short span before you reach the helicopter, ending the mission.

Mission Eight: Shock and Awe

Character: Sgt. Paul Jackson (USMC)

Your job is to soften up the enemy troops so that the tanks can move in and secure the city. To accomplish this, access the Mark 19 mounted cannon.

The biggest threat is the mounted AA turrets, surrounded by sandbags with a large flashing gun on top. Take these out immediately.

As you progress into the city, you will see several more AA turrets, as well as light armor. Take these out as soon as you see them or they will destroy you.

Another threat is the enemy RPGs. Your radio operator will warn you when they are coming out, so watch the rooftops when he gives the cues. If you can't find them, just watch for the smoke trails of missed shots.

After you take out the initial wave of enemies, the chopper will lower and release some troops onto the ground. Just enjoy the scripted event; enemies won't bother you here.

Once the troops are unloaded, your squad will get a call to assist friendlies who have been pinned down. Ride to the drop zone and then unload on the enemy from the helicopter.

After landing on the ground, head northwest into the city. You will encounter some light resistance in the alley way -- just take cover behind the brick wall on the left side of the road, and shoot them from a distance.

Once the alley is cleared, continue northwest into the building by the large gun insignia on the left of the entrance. Get into the building and clear out the remaining enemies on the first floor.

Enter the building and clear out the enemies.

The troops you are rescuing are on the second floor of the building. Get up to the second floor, then follow them out of the hole that has been blasted in the wall.

Join your squad and then start heading to the LZ.
Intelligence: once you get to the second floor go to the south-east corner it will be laying on the floor.

As soon as you hit the ground, enemies will swarm you -- some in the building directly across from the marines, while others in the smaller building to the southwest. Hold back and shoot these guys from a distance.

Intelligence: get to the building where the machine gunners were shooting you, get to the second floor there's a closet, laptop is lying on the floor.

With the enemies destroyed, turn and head south towards the extraction point. To get to the helicopter, run to where the enemies you just fought came from and then turn south down an alley.

Load up into the helicopter and get back to the turret. You will be informed that a nuclear device has been located in the area, where you'll see a Cobra helicopter go down.

Get into the chopper and man the turret.

With the Cobra down, you must run across the land and rescue the pilot. (You only have a minute and a half to get her out of the chopper.)

Sprint to the pilot, pull her out, and then return to the chopper.

Get the pilot and rush back to the chopper.

With the pilot safely loaded, your helicopter will take off and fly away from the enemy. Unfortunately, you and your squad will be taken out by a nuclear blast.

When you wake up from the nuclear blast, you'll wander around for a few moments. You don't have an objective; you can only wait to die.

Mission Nine: Safehouse

Character: Sgt. 'Soap' MacTavish (SAS)

Mission nine takes place after the nuclear blast. In this mission, you will be seeking out the terrorist who blew up the bomb. The level takes place in Russia, where you will meet up with the Russian Loyalist army.

After meeting up with the Loyalist representative, follow your squad until you reach the village. You have several objective markers. Be prepared for a lengthy urban fight.

As you enter the village you will see a building to the northwest. Get behind the broken fence and shoot the occupants of the building.

Just beyond the fence is a basement entrance to the building. Enter through the basement and then work your way up, checking it for the terrorist.

Inside the building, you will be given an order to call in air support on the building. Place the yellow marker on the spot you wish to call down air support at.
There is a Church to the S.E. of the first building with no enemies in it. Go into the church and get the Dragunov sniper rifle. Go up the ladder to the steeple .Use the rifle to take out enemies from a distance. Enemies will try to assault you from the ridge to the west, shoot them before moving to where you just called in air support. Let the air support soften up the enemy, then move in and check the building for the terrorist in question.

Since the building you've just searched did not have the man you seek, hold up for a few moments in the second floor. Using the second floor windows, dispatch the enemies assaulting the house.

After dispatching the enemies in the house, go out the back entrance (to the west) and then turn southwest. You will see enemy armor and troops on the ridge above you; call in an air strike before moving in.

The air strike kills just a fraction of the enemies, so be careful as you approach the house. Expect heavy resistance from those inside. Check the first and basement floors -- confirming that the terrorist is not in the building -- and then move north by northwest towards the next house.

Intelligence: The intelligence is located in the basement level of the house with the satellite dish on the roof. Find it on the top of a table, in what appears to be a diner.

As you come up and around the winding road to the northwest house you will be ambushed. Troops will come from the log pile on the left, as well as the windows of the house. Call in air support, and let it do its thing before moving in.

Check the building, kill any remaining troops, and then move southeast towards the building beneath you.

After the air support has cleaned up most of the troops in the windows, head to the lower entrance of the building. You will have to kill guys who are on either side of the door; shoot through the wall by the door to kill them.

Enter the building and secure the second floor. As you get to the top of the stairs, a soldier will start throwing grenades from behind a door. Unleash a clip on the door to kill the people who are hiding behind it.

The house will have no one in it. Head up the northwest hill to get to the final building; you will encounter no enemies at the final building.

You will capture the terrorist in the final building and interrogate him. During the interrogation, you will get an important name from his cell phone. The captain will then execute him and end the mission.

Al-Asad is no longer of any use after the phone call.

Mission 10: All Ghillied Up

Character: Lt. Price (SAS)

This mission places you in control of Capt. Price, but this time, he's a Lieutenant. Why? Because it's fifteen years in the past.

The main objective mission is to follow your Captain.

Follow him until you come to your first enemy patrol, where you'll lay prone in the grass, and kill the guards when he gives the order. The Captain will kill the other one.
Once the guards are dead, follow Capt. MacMillan around the house. He will spot an enemy by a car and give you the option to kill him or just sneak past him. We killed him.
Capt. MacMillan will keep moving forward; follow him until he spots a lookout in a tower. When he gives the order, move up and kill the guard in tower.

Move through the grass and then snipe the tower look out when the Cpt. gives the signal.

The guard in the tower isn't the only threat in the immediate area. Again, you will have to choose whether or not to let the guard, approaching from the north, live or die. We killed him.

Follow MacMillan through the church. When entering the yard beyond the church, a helicopter will pass overhead. Get on the ground and don't get up until he gives the order.

Intelligence: Once you have both entered the church head to the south end and scale the ladders to the tower where you will find a laptop.
This is where things get pretty hectic. An enemy patrol will approach as you cross the field. Go prone and slowly follow behind Capt. MacMillan. Watch for enemies walking through the grass -- make sure to crawl in a way that they do not walk directly over you.

Eventually, you and MacMillan will make it through the field and into a junkyard. The junkyard will have three guards: two will be throwing bodies into some water, the other will be standing to their left. Kill the one who is by himself first and then wait for MacMillan to get into position so that you can simultaneously snipe the pair of remaining guards. When he says he is ready, shoot 'em up.

Kill the single guard first and then simultaneously snipe the other two.

Continue to follow the Captain past the junkyard and into the area with the cargo containers. He will silently take out a guard.

Follow him until he tells you to stay put. Hold in this position until you hear him shoot another guard, then move forward.

Intelligence: After Mac kills the guard enter the red container on the right that Mac told you to stay put next to. Once you come out the other side there are 2 patrolling guards and a guard asleep in a chair next to the laptop situated on top of 3 blue barrel
A pair of guards will be to your right. Do not engage these guards; instead, simply follow the Captain around them.

The Captain will pause at the end of a cargo container, and then open it, only to realize that the area is swarming with enemies. On his signal, sprint right behind him to a truck.

Make sure you are sprinting behind the Captain.

When you reach the truck, the pair of you will start crawling under the caravan. Follow right on the Captain's heels and you should be OK.

You'll reach the end of the caravan and then have to sprint past the remainder of the guards. Again, just stay right behind the Captain and you won't come to any harm.

The Captain will pause at a wall and then direct you to a sniper on the fourth floor fire escape of the building in front of you. Crawl out from behind the wall and then take him out.

When the Cpt. stops at the wall, sneak out and look up in the fire escape.

Follow the Captain up the fire escape where the sniper was hiding.

Intellegence: Go up the fire escape all the way to the fourth floor. Go in the window, and inside you'll find a laptop on the desk with the two G36C's.

You and the Captain will pass through the building and continue forward. Eventually you will come to a small park with a wild dog. Stay as far away from the dog as possible and you will be OK.

Continue following MacMillan through another building and out into another field. Here, you will see the hotel you are trying to reach; this will be the end of the mission.

Mission 11: One Shot, One Kill

Character: Lt. Price (SAS)

The mission starts you off with a .50 caliber sniper rifle at hand. Grab it and start watching the transaction.

Watch the flag on the jeep very carefully, it will tell you the windspeed and direction.

A helicopter will briefly block your view, just wait for it to pass.

When you see the target throw his hands up in frustration, you'll know it's almost time for the shot. Just wait for the flag to sag; this indicates that the wind has died. Fire!

Once the target has been taken down, you'll be attacked by a helicopter. Shoot the pilot and then get off the sniper rifle.

Follow Capt. MacMillan to the rappel lines and get down off the building. As soon as you get up and over the ledge, the room you were in will explode.

Run to the window and rappel before the building explodes.

When you hit the ground you will get a new objective marker. It will show you the way to an extraction point. However, you will now have to contend with a legion of enemies and a twenty minute time limit, so get moving!

Only shoot enough enemies to clear a path towards the extraction point. Once there is a clear enough path, sprint through the cars, wait for MacMillan, and then run into the apartment building.

Follow MacMillan through the apartment buildings until he tells you to standby -- you will see a pair of guards pass by. Go into the room that he is waiting by and set up claymore mines.

After killing the patrol, head out into the play ground and fight the troops/helicopter that is attacking. Shoot the helicopter in the cockpit and it will crash -- just get out of the way!

Shoot the chopper and then hit the side of the path to avoid being hit.

MacMillan got hit by the helicopter so now you will have to carry him. You can find him by following the objective marker. Carry him by holding the X button; put him down by hitting X -- this allows him to cover you, and you to use your weapon.

Pick up the Cpt. and then set him down where he can fire--don't worry, he's invincible.

As soon as you see enemies just throw the Captain down and start shooting. Only kill enough enemies to make the route to the extraction point safe, then grab him and keep moving. Don't worry too much about putting him behind cover, he is basically invincible.

Stay out of the radioactive areas: Listen to the tapping sound that your Geiger counter makes. If it starts to click a lot, head back to where you came from.

Listen to the Captain's cues. He will not only direct you to the location of the enemies, but also will tell you where to go. He'll order you to move into this apartment: do so.

Once inside the apartment set him down and clear the rooms. He'll still tell you to wait and make sure the rooms are clear after you kill the enemies, so just pick him up and move.

Intelligence: Once you've exited that building there will be a fire escape to your right, climb all the way up. Once at the top there will be a laptop next to some trash.

Proceed out of the apartments and to the southwest, through the building that the Captain directs you towards. You will exit by a large swimming pool. There will be a pair of guards you will have to kill.

Shoot the guards before you drop out of the building.

After killing the guards, grab the Captain and run northwest to the extraction point. MacMillan will tell you to put him down where he can provide support. Look for the yellow objective on the ground, this indicates where you need to set him up.

Place the Captain on the ground and then go around the area and set up claymores. Try to predict the paths you think the enemy will take. We placed a large amount of them around the cars.

Captain MacMillan will signal the chopper as soon as you pull out your rifle. We recommend that you set up on the opposite side of the ridge from the Captain, allowing you to cover both sides.

Now you just have to hold out until the chopper reaches you -- look at the objective indicator to see the distance between yourself and the helicopter, which is approaching. Watch your side and let the captain watch his. If you stay vigilant, you should make it through the swarms of enemies.

At some point in the conflict choppers will drop even more enemies into the fight. Just stick to the plan of covering your side.

Intelligence: This one is rather tricky. Once the enemy helo drops it's troops you should notice some enemies coming from the right alleyway. Once they appear a door opens in that apartment building. Only then can you make the dash and retreive the laptop hidden behind those doors.

When the allied chopper finally does arrive, pick up MacMillan and carry him into the chopper. You survived.

Mission 12: Heat

Character: Sgt. 'Soap' MacTavish

The mission takes place eight hours after you and the SAS have executed the terrorist Al-Asad. Now you have to hold out long enough for extraction to reach your location. Thankfully, your squad set up traps during that time.

Follow your squad to a ridge line and wait for them to detonate the explosion. Once they do, though, unleash fiery death with your heavy machine gun.

Once you and your squad eliminate a large number of the assailants, you will fall back to your next defensive position; a new objective marker will tell you which way to run. Run fast or you will be hit by a mortar.

The second objective point is the Gatling gun of the downed chopper. Travel west, get in the chopper, and start shooting all the guys who come through the smoke.

Eventually the Gatling gun position will be overrun and you will have to fall back to the next objective marker. Head northeast to the building where your squad is running to. Inside are four detonators; find them and use them. Two detonators are on the south windows of the second floor, two are on the southwestern windows.

Use the detonators to blow away the enemies that rush your position.

After all the detonators have been used, you will be given a new objective: destroy the enemy armor with a Javelin missile. Sprint northeast and get to the barn by the hayfield. Inside the barn is a Javelin missile.

The javelin will be glowing bright yellow.

Use the Javelin missile system and kill four tanks. Get a lock onto them while inside the barn and then run out of the barn to shoot the missiles.

Fire the missiles--make sure to leave enough room for them to ignite.

Once the tanks are destroyed, drop the Javelin and pick up a machine gun. You will be given the option to call in air support. Give the order by hitting Down on the D-pad. Use this ability to destroy the troops assaulting the barn.

You and your squad will fight your way back down the hill. The LZ at the barn has been compromised and relocated. Fight your way back through the assaulting forces.

Start to work your way back down, running through the field to the west (it should have less enemies).

At this point you will probably only have about three and a half minutes to get to the LZ. Continue heading southwest towards the objective until you come to a water tower. Once you reach the water tower you should cut south by southeast.

You will reach a heavily occupied forest. Do not stop and fight the troops! Run south as fast as you can and avoid the fight. Get into the chopper to complete the mission.

Mission 13: The Sins of the Father

Character: Sgt. 'Soap' MacTavish (SAS)

Head southeast with your squad towards the yellow objective marker. Capt. Price directs you to jump onto a dumpster.

On the dumpster, zoom in on the troops in the watch tower. When Price gives the signal, take them out. Since the watchtower has been taken care of, head down to where the rest of your squad is fighting and provide sniper cover.

Shoot the guys in the tower and then help clear out the remaining enemies.

After the enemies are destroyed, assemble in the parking lot of the gas station.

Intelligence: During the initial attack after you snipe the tower guards make your way into the diner. Once inside on a table to the east-northeast is the intel.

The screen will turn black -- indicating a time lapse -- and then fade back in. You're in the watch tower, while your squad on the ground. Plus, everyone will wear enemy uniforms, as they plan an ambush.

Once your squad starts shooting, do the same. You will make quick work of the enemies, but then get blown out of the tower, allowing the target, Zahkhaev, will get away.

Shoot the enemies and then wait for the tower to get knocked over.

After you get up from the destroyed tower, you will be given a new objective: track down the fleeing terrorist, Zahkhaev. Start sprinting northwest through the junkyard.

Shoot the dog that tries to ambush you.

Continue northwest until you come out to a road, then turn and head north by northeast, into the city.

When you reach the edge of the town, head left into the houses. From the houses, shoot the troops that are in the street. Watch out for Zakhaev, though -- if you kill him the mission is over.

Use the buildings for cover, but do not shoot Zakhaev.

Your progression into the town will prompt Zakhaev to run. Follow him northwest into an alleyway.

The alleyway will end with a sheet metal fence. Beyond the fence will be several hostiles hiding amongst the cars and some on the roofs. Stay behind the sheet metal and take them out.

Shoot the enemies in front of you until you are warned of enemies on your flank.

Listen carefully to the orders given by the helicopter operator; he will tell you where the enemies are before you even get there.

Intelligence: Once you've eliminated most of the resitance there is a building to the right of where the enemy was walking between the cars. On that building are some stairs, go up the stairs and be sure to check for enemies before just running in. Once inside that second floor there is the intel laptop.

You will eventually make it out of the alley and back onto the street. Zakhaev will run into a large apartment building. Do not pursue him but instead take cover. Wait behind cover until a friendly helicopter comes in and takes out the machine gun on the building's fifth floor.

Enter the building and then start fighting your way up. Each floor will have several enemies, so be careful.

Eventually, you'll run into another fortified enemy position; do not fight the position, just let your air support take it out.

Continue to follow the objective marker through the wreckage of the building. It will lead you up onto the roof of the building.

Once on the roof you will be ordered to restrain the cornered Zakhaev. Unfortunately, he will kill himself before you have the chance to do so. Mission complete.

Mission 14: Ultimatum

Character: Sgt. 'Soap' MacTavish

You are landing in Russia so that you can stop the terrorists once and for all.

The first task at hand is to find SSgt. Griggs, who's separated from the group. Head southwest towards his last known location.

As you are running, a car will try to ambush you. Don’t worry, your squad will take it out for you.

Proceed southwest into the forest and fight the soldiers you come across. There will only be five or six of them. Note: your squad will take care of them if you don't attack them.

Once the soldiers are dead, head southwest to the basement door that your squad groups up at.

Silently kill all the enemies in the house. There will be one enemy downstairs, and two upstairs.

The objective marker will move to a new house. Follow your squad back down to the first floor and out of the building.

Don't exit the building too fast. Hold up on the porch of the house you just cleared and aim off to your right. There will be two enemy soldiers that you must kill silently. Continue only after they have been dealt with.

If you don't kill both enemies you will have to fight a horde of reinforcements.

With the outside patrols dead, your squad will open the next house up for you. Follow them in. There will be no enemies in the first floor and none in the open on the second.

Listen carefully and you will hear your squad member. You squad will breach the door and kill the enemy. Cut Griggs loose and continue with the mission.

Follow your squad back downstairs and out of the house. Continue southwest towards the large power tower.

Helicopters will pass overhead, go prone to avoid detection.

After the helicopters have passed, head to the power tower and plant charges on the two flashing yellow spots. Run away from the charges and then detonate them.

Set the charges and collapse the tower.

Your team will go into a brief dialogue and then breach the fence into the compound. Follow them southwest.

There will be a broken section of wall that leads into the compound. Follow Gaz up and over the wall. Turn right as soon as you get into the compound and follow Gaz.

As you proceed west into the compound, enemies will pour out of the buildings across from you. Take cover and shoot the guys on the ground, as well as the guys with RPGs on the building that will be to your left.

Get the enemies on the rooftops first.

After you kill enough enemies, choppers will drop in more. Prepare for a prolonged firefight.

Intelligence: Head towards the building with a pink graffitti and halfway open garage door. Turn to the right and into the farthest room, the intel piece is in a long L shaped table.

Once you have cleared out the enemies, head into the buildings towards the objective. You will then have to turn southeast. Enemies will attack you as soon as you leave the building.

Kill all the enemies and then head down the road where they were attacking from. When the road dead ends, turn southwest and proceed through the building and into another clearing.

As you enter this clearing another wave of enemies will attack you. Hold back by the buildings you just exited from and take them out from a distance. Use the Dragunov sniper rifle that is by the barrel as you exit the building. Guys will attack from both the ground and the roof.

Dogs: Watch out for the dogs that will assault you as you get close to the buildings of your enemies. If they get on top of you, you have to hit RS quickly.

Go past the buildings that you just cleared and turn northwest back towards the outside. As you just start to go past the building, two trucks filled with enemies will attack. Hold back with your squad and take them out with your sniper rifle.

After the enemies are dead, head south by southeast to the objective. The objective marker will lead you to your allied sniper team. However, before you can catch up and chat, the enemy will launch nuclear missiles. Time to move!

Mission 15: All In

Character: Sgt. 'Soap' MacTavish

This mission doesn't give you any time to breath, so just hit the ground running. Follow your squad southeast into the cargo containers. The enemies will be swarming, so stay close to your team and cover each other's backs.

After a short time, enemy light armor will show up. Throw a smoke grenade and then, after letting the smoke build, go up to the tank and plant C4 on it. If you get lost in the smoke, just watch your distance to the objective, as it will lead you to C4 planting position.

Go through the smoke and find the glowing bomb position.

Before you go into the chain link fence with the shipping containers, go to the N.E. (left of the shipping containers), and you will be on the outside of the compound. There will be a truck with RPG's leaned up against it. You will also see C4 on the wall. Set the C4 charge and back up to the car. Detonate the C4 to breach a hole in the wall. You will see the armor through the hole you just blew in the wall. Use the RPG to shoot the armor. It will take two shots to take it out. When the armor is destroyed drop the RPG and pick up the machine gun. Then take out the enemy troops.
With the armor destroyed, proceed southeast past the hangars. As you reach the corner and turn east towards the objective, guys will assault you from the rooftops to your right, and from the street level.

Intelligence: Once this assault is over move through the alley on the right just before the gate. Go to left and then all the way to the back, there is a cache of weapons and one laptop.

After you have cleared enough of the enemies, your team will move in and blow the gate. Follow them through the gate and then immediately find cover -- enemy vehicles will shoot at you as soon as you run in.

Go through the gate and then take cover from the light armor.

To proceed, your team will have to destroy the two vehicles. Use your smoke grenades to blind them, then move in and plant C4 on them. Again, if you can't find them in the smoke, use the objective markers to find them.

Intelligence: When standing at the gate, straight ahead are two hangars/warehouses the further one contains the intel. Look on the right side by some barrels.

After destroying the tanks, follow your team to the missile vents. They will cut through them and then put rappel lines up. Use a rappel line and head down into the vent.

Wait till they cut a hole and then rappel into the base.

Mission 16: No Fighting in the War Room

Character: Sgt. 'Soap' MacTavish

The mission will start you and your team inside the air ducts of the missile base. Follow your team through the vents and through a hole into the main structure.

Go through the vents and then drop into the base.

Inside, your team will have eleven minutes to put in the cancellation codes for the missiles; a timer will start. Follow your team northeast, down the halls, and destroy the first few enemies you come across.

Intelligence: There is intelligence in one of the rooms just after you fight the first few enemies. The room will be on your left. The intelligence will be on a long table.

Continue to proceed through the halls and towards the objective. You will go down a flight of stairs and then turn left; this will be the room where the fight will be at its worst.

Take these stairs and then start shooting down the hall it leads to.

Enter the room and take an immediate left. Follow up the left side and flank the enemies while your team heads up the center.

When you're at the end of the room, head into the red lit hallway. You will get to take a couple of turns before the enemy ambushes you from the sides. The main hallway will be blocked, forcing you and your team into the side silos.

The hallway is blocked so you will have to turn down one of the side hallways.

Use the side silos to get past the enemy blockade. Run down the main hallway and then get to where your team is gathering. Your team will open up the large iron doors in front of you.

Kill the small number of guys in the room that you just entered and then head downstairs towards the objective marker.

Once your team enters the room, you will be prompted to plant C4 on the wall. Go to the glowing yellow marker and hold X to plant the C4. Blast your way into the control room!

Let your team rush into the room first, then follow. Kill the remaining enemies -- around ten -- and then enter the codes into the computer; the computer will be marked by a new objective marker.

Intelligence: From the keyboard you entered the codes, go to your left (southwest) and make your way into the meeting room on the board table is the laptop and some extra grenades.

You've done it, soldier. You've stopped the U.S. from being nuked.

Now it's time to make it to the extraction point. Follow Captain Price to the exit, fighting the enemies who try to stop you. Price will lead you to an elevator. Get inside the elevator and then ride it up to the compounds upper levels.

The lift will have you exit into the compounds vehicle depot. Kill the enemies and then enter the trucks, ending the mission.

Mission 17: Game Over

Character: Sgt. 'Soap' MacTavish

This mission starts you off in the vehicle you just took in the previous level. It is up to you to cover your team from pursuing enemy vehicles.

Several trucks will attack you. Take out the soldiers with RPGs first, and then move onto the riflemen.
A helicopter will attack you. Pick up an RPG -- conveniently inside your truck -- and fire upon the helicopter until it makes you think it is leaving.

The helicopter will fly just up the road and take out the bridge, making you and your team crash. As soon as you crash, head north and get to a stable portion of the bridge.

This bridge is now your last stand. Find cover behind a destroyed car and start taking out the enemies who are coming down the bridge.

After some intense fighting, Sgt. Kamarov, of the Loyalist forces, will contact your squad and tell you that he is inbound; now you just have to hold out until he arrives.

You will be shot by a chopper and knocked to the ground. Sgt. Griggs will try to save you and then be taken out.

Next, Zakhaev will arrive and start executing the remaining members of your squad. However, before he has the chance to reach you, Sgt. Kamarov's forces will attack.

Kamarov shows up just in time to stop your execution.

Price will call you and then give you a pistol. Use the pistol to take out Zakhaev and his two remaining body guards.

Use Price's pistol to finish the fight.

The campaign is finally over. Unfortunately, you were the only one who made it. Such is the price of victory.

Epilogue: Secure the V.I.P.

Character: Unknown

This is a bonus mission. It takes place after the credits.

Follow your team through the airplane. There will be a ton of enemies but, due to the tight quarters, you should be able to make short work of them.

When you get to the stairs going up to the planes second deck, you will be assaulted by a lot of enemies. Hold back and let them come. Follow your teammates up to the next level.

Take the second level just like you took the first -- using the tight quarters to group up large amounts of enemies.

When you reach the end of the plane the double doors in front of you will burst open. The hostage will be executed unless you manage a very precise headshot on the enemy. You only get one shot, so make it count.

edit: I just shot his legs then killed him while he lies on the ground, either way, I found the headshot too hard.

Wait for the doors to open and then headshot the enemy.

With the terrorists down, you and your team will have to escape before a bomb blows the plane up. Let your team breach the side of the plane, then jump out.

Mission over.

Hello!
Goodbye!
Have a nice day!
