3. The Dead Men
=========================================================
Kane - Real Name: Adam Marcus. After the accidental death of his young son he
abandoned his family and ended up working with a mercenary group called The7.
After a botched \"retirement job\" Kane believed the rest of the group dead and
left with the riches only to be taken into captivity for his crimes. He is
broken out of jail in the beginning of the game to get The7 their money back
and be executed by them or his wife and daughter will be killed.

Lynch - Real Name: James Seth Lynch. Lynch was once a normal blue collar worker
in the US. Seemingly a schizophrenic he suffers from blackouts. It was during
one of these blackouts that he may or may not have killed his wife. After he
called 911 to report the murder he went on the run but was brought in and was
put on death row for her rather gruesome killing. However as the game goes on
there is some indication that the meds he was taking to ward off his blackouts
may have been causing them. Whether this is indeed the case is unknown.

Chapter 1 - Impact
==============================
Once the opening cutscene has finished, which doesn\'t take long, it\'s time to
jump right into the game. This is essentially your training level so don\'t get
too worried about being thrust straight into an all out fight with the cops.

Follow Lynch and the guy in the olive jumpsuit and face mask. You\'re heading
over to where the group of them are currently standing and shooting at the cops
across the way. You will likely get shot a few times as you follow them but
don\'t worry about it, you really can\'t die here. As soon as you make your way
to the group of men they will all start heading into the alleyway, follow them.

Pleasant group of people, no? Well at least we know why Kane\'s nose looks all
busted up in all of the art depicting him. Move over to the dead cop and follow
the on-screen prompt to pick up his pistol. Now continue down the alleyway. You
will see a cop pop out of a little cross area up ahead. Lynch will stop to try
and shoot him, not very well, but the others will ignore him so that leaves it
all up to you. I suggest entering aiming mode and just shoot him in the chest,
he goes down easily and there\'s no need to be too precise. Pick up his gun and
continue following the thugs.

--------------

Now continue moving forward and you will see them tossing smoke grenades to
help give some cover while they open up on the police helicopter with their
rifles. You can\'t do anything to help so follow the little green floating arrow
things until you see an open garage. Depending on how fast or slow you move you
may have to wait for two guys to open it up for you. Head on inside.

After a few moments a cop car will come busting in. Try and take down the cop
who has a sub-machine gun (?!) and pick it up. Now use your pistol to take out
the other one if Lynch already hasn\'t done so. There will be more cops outside
so take some cover and aim around it to shoot the cop dead, aim for the head
and upper chest area to make quick work of them.

Head outside through the way the cops came in and rush for the cars. Use them
as cover to help take out the cops near the street. Once they are dead head
back into the garage, the thugs will have blown open a wall so run on through.
You will be getting shot at by a police officer in the helicopter so move as
fast as you can for the street and across it. You should see a green arrow that
indicates for you to climb a dumpter and over the wall (the thugs will also let
you know that is what you need to do). Do so.

--------------

Once you are on the ground you will be informed as to how to do short sprints.
Make use of it now and sprint your way across this area and into the open door
straight ahead of you. Turn left, go up the staircase and follow the path in
front of you, it\'s basically a straight line. When you are on the upper level
cops will start shooting at you from down below, don\'t even bother returning
fire. Just keep moving. Wasting the ammo isn\'t worth it. From the doorway turn
to the left and drop down. Now climb up the boxes onto the upper level again
and take the walkway to your right. Climb up onto the brown boxes here and hop
out the window and finally drop to the floor. If you get knocked out by doing
this don\'t worry, you will get brought right back.

Now that you\'re outside again you can either shoot the cops here that are still
alive or just run for the diner door. Do as you please. After you spend some
time in the diner quietly a hail of bullets will tear through the door and the
windows. You can try to hit the enemies outside but they are hard to find and
can take you out, I find it best to just crouch near the door and let the other
crazies handle it. After a short while the door will be opened and you can move
out. Try to stay behind the cars and don\'t get too daring.

Once the enemies have been thinned out a bit by your allies (I found it very
hard to do anything productive here since I got gunned down fairly easily) all
you need to do is make a dead break for the donut shop across the street. It\'s
run down and blue so you can\'t miss it. Just sprint for it, get inside and hug
some cover. You should be okay.

It seems that you will have to wait for your escape vehicle a bit longer. Hug
a wall and shoot out through the windows at the cops who trouble you. You will
have to hold it up for a bit before you are told that you can move along. When
the time comes to leave you will be told that you are leaving so exit out the
back door and just run for it, following the others. This is the end of this
chapter, so don\'t fret over damage. You just need to vaguely approach the van
and the level ends.

==============================
Chapter 2 - Trial
==============================
While the last level was a combat tutorial of sorts now you get to do an actual
tutorial level, yay! Or not. Your choice, party pooper.

When the cutscenes end just walk over to the car and check it out. You will be
shown how to give other people stuff, so give Lynch the shotgun and magnum and
you keep the sub-machine gun and puny pistol for yourself. Now you have to head
over to the red vending machine and show Lynch how to use cover. Simply use the
machine as cover and aim for the mannequins across the room. Shoot them until
you are told to go back to the car.

Pick up the tear gas grenade and fling one of them to show Lynch how it\'s done.
Simple enough. Once this is over with click the left thumbstick (L3 button) to
find what scaffolding Kane is talking about. Head on over to it and take the
escalator upwards. You will need to go up two floors. Now look for the green
arrow and go over to it. Rather than rappelling you will instead decide to take
the stairs so that you can get rid of the cops.

There are a few ways to approach this section. You can either take the stairs
slowly or go right into the thick of it. I prefer the second way so let\'s go
with that. Rappel down the wall by clicking (A or X) near the ledge and run for
cover. Tell Kane to attack your target as the game tells you to get some help.
Now hide behind cover and use your pistol to dispose of long range enemies and
the sub-machine gun to get rid of medium to short range ones. Order Kane to
come to you and he will do so, taking out any cops in his path which is fairly
easy considering he has a shotgun.

Now head for the exit to end this level.

==============================
Chapter 3 - Withdrawl
==============================
When you see the van pulling up turn to your left and sprint down the stairs.
There\'s nobody around so you might as well move quick. Take a right and turn
to where the van was. Walk up to the guy that exits the van to start a little
cutscene.

Now this all sounds tricky but it isn\'t as bad as it initially seems. Move in
front of the van and you will see green dumpsters. Climb on top of them and
then over the wall. Now tell the Vaultbreaker and Lynch to stay near the wall
and walk straight ahead. A security guard will come out of a door to your right
and ask what you\'re doing here. Get over to him, you don\'t have too much time
before he gets too suspicious, and engage him in melee with the action button.

Once Kane flattens the guy immediately rush into the building through the door
near him and take out the other guard in melee. If you don\'t he will radio the
control room and the mission fails. Head inside and into the staircase. This
will prompt the guys to put on masks and catch up to you. Now start heading up
the stairs again.

A guard is on patrol on the staircase, you should be able to hear him whistling
to himself. Simply stand behind one of the walls and wait for him to come to
you rather than going to him. Once he nears him grab him and drop him with a
melee attack rather than wasting ammo or time shooting. In these close quarters
Lynch will sometimes hit you with the shotgun as well, so melee avoids a number
of problems.

With this guard out of the way your trip to the roof should be no problem. Head
all the way up the stairs.

--------------

Once you\'re on the roof run straight ahead and hop up onto the second level.
There are no guards up here so use your objective marker to find where the vent
you need is and go dump the gas into it. Now walk over to the ledge and use the
rappel option to make your way to the loading dock. You will see an armored car
pulling in, which is bad news.

Rush into the loading dock and try to take out the guards to your right, there
should be two of them in that room. Lynch should be able to handle the armored
car guys. Once they are dead turn your attention to the other guard poking out
of a room further into the loading dock. Shoot him down and Kane will send the
Vaultbreaker to open a door.

That sounds fine but there are two guards that can shoot through some glass at
the Vaultbreaker. Run into the room with him and look to your left. Shoot down
those two guards. Once they are dead you have a few moments to catch your
breath before you have to move on. Once the door opens the Vaultbreaker will go
to one door and open it, Lynch is sent through here to secure the hostages. Now
the other door is open as well but there are guards that way.

I suggest taking out the pistol and shooting at them from a distance but then
switching when they get in close range. Fill them full of sub ammo and run down
the stairs. Use one of the two pillars for cover but keep the sub in hand, the
guards here will charge your position so take them out. Once they\'re dead move
to the door and find cover before leaning out and taking out the guards further
down the stairs. With these final guards dead you can reach the vault doors.

After Kane comments about his hands shaking you will be told to keep the guards
off his back. You might not see them immediately but they\'re coming. Get out
the pistol and be ready to start shooting. The guards are going to come down
three at a time and ready to start trouble. Try to use your pistol to do some
damage, don\'t bother with fancy shots just body shots, and then switch to the
machine gun when they get in close. Take out the enemies by shooting at angles,
if you are hiding along the right wall shoot the left guards and if you\'re on
the left wall shoot the right guards. This way you can use the least amount of
ammo possible here.

After about 12 guards the doors will be opened, take out the last three and go
on into the vault.

--------------

You will demand the entire vault be blown. Wonderful. Go back out of the vault
and shoot at the guards until you are told to run, do so immediately. Shoot any
guards that try to stop you and wait for the vault to blow. Now run down the
stairs and enter the vault. On your way back down check the bodies to see if
you can find some grenades, they will come in quite handy in a later section.

Seems what Kane is looking for isn\'t here so head back up the stairs, there is
likely going to be a few more guards up here so take them out. Now head for the
door that Lynch was sent through and make for the lobby.

==============================
Chapter 4 - Cracking Up
==============================
Isn\'t Lynch such a reliable friend to have on your side? Blah. Guess you have
to shoot your way out of this place. Don\'t bother trying to shoot at the cops
that are outside, you will likely just get your face blown off.

Instead run towards the leftmost corner of the room and crouch behind the
stairwell. From this point you should be able to hit any cops that run in and
also hit the guards and cops who appear on the upper level straight in front of
you. After a bit the cops will start to infest this place, get up the stairs
and take up shop on the upper level, clearing off your side before they take
you down. You are going to have to survive this for quite some time before your
ride finally gets there.

When you see the van bash through the front doors run down the stairs and hop
on inside to end this part of the level.

--------------

Now you are going to have to protect the van from the cops who are trying to
ram you off the road. If you have the grenades, and can use them with any real
accuracy, this will be no problem. Simply aim at the front windshield of the
cop cars and start shooting. With Lynchs\' help the car will eventually either
explode or slow down enough that it no longer matters. If they look like they
are getting too close for comfort, toss a grenade in front of the car. That
will likely slow them down and give you more of a chance to take them out.

You need to keep this up for around five minutes or so, after that time you
will be in a tunnel and the cops will have blockaded you off. Hop out of the
van and take out the four cops behind you and start moving towards the front of
the van. There are snipers here so keep behind the cars and stay ducking. One
cop will be a short ways in front of you, shoot him. Another one will be in
front of you to the right, if you pick up a shotgun you can take him out with
ease.

Now keep moving forward and you will find three cops behind a car. Take them
out as carefully as you can, using a smoke grenade might be ideal here since it
means that if you get dropped your squad has some cover to get you back up on
your feet. Now keep moving forward to the red jeep and start shooting at the
cops up ahead, there should be four of them. Once they have been sacked it is
time to move the van up and then get back into it. Do so and be ready for some
more back of the van shooting. This one is easier than the one before it so
just start lobbing some grenades at the cop cars and you should pass this part
of the chapter.

--------------

Yay for van crashes! You are going to have to ward the cops off here for a bit
so I advise you to be careful about this one. There aren\'t that many great
places to use as cover so make sure to be on your toes. Aiming can be a bit
tough at this range and hitting can be even harder if you\'re using a shotgun or
sub-machine gun.

Once you take out the cops on the ridge a bunch are going to come running from
the street. Look around for a busted up car, they will come towards that. In
addition some cops are going to appear on the ridges around the area and a few
will drop down to you. Try to keep as covered as possible and I suggest using
your pistol for more accurate long range shooting. Take out the cops and the
van will be fixed. Once instructed to do so, get inside and be ready for one
last rail shooter.

This one is a lot shorter and easier than the others. Just start flinging off
grenades at each and every enemy you see and this section will be over before
you know it. Just remember to fully charge each one you throw so that they go
where you are aiming and not just shy of it.

--------------

This section right here just goes to prove why this game is getting such low
review scores. Prepare to get dropped repeatedly with very little in the ways
of defending yourself. Enemies are going to come from all sides and they will
take you out with little difficulty since they either have shotguns (one shot
kills on you) or they come in groups of threes with machine guns. Neither type
of weapon will leave you standing for more than a few seconds and the cover in
this place is deplorable, good luck getting Kane to stick to any of it.

Head away from the van and order Lynch to follow you. Once he moves a bit two
cops are going to come down the stairs. Take them out and two SWAT will soon be
following them down. Try to get rid of them quickly because two more SWAT are
going to follow. Once the six of them are dead head for the down escalator and
prepare for a hold out. You will have to survive here until the train arrives.
This isn\'t as easy as it sounds since the SWAT will be coming four at a time
from both ends of the platform and Lynch usually lasts about 10 seconds here.

Try to get behind cover and shoot the enemies in the head area to take them out
quicker. Otherwise you will get gunned down ridiculously fast, even if you are
hiding behind cover. One strategy that has worked for me was to throw around
some of the smoke grenades. These will cause the enemies to not notice you
until they are in your face and you should be able to headshot them especially
if you have a shotgun. If the enemies on the other end of the platform start to
hit you just do your best to move to new cover and fling a smoke grenade or two
in their general direction.

If you can survive for about two minutes the train will come. Just call Lynch
to follow you and run for the doors. The level will end.

==============================
Chapter 5 - The Mizuki
==============================
A nightclub eh? This sounds interesting. As a note melee attacks work best here
since you can get right in a guards face and drop him with little difficulty.
If you try to shoot you will likely hit innocent civilians with the cross fire.
So just rush enemies, drop \'em and pull back to heal when needed.

Head on inside the club and simply follow the green markers. Once you have made
it to the stairs head on up the stairs and drop the guard via melee attack.
Head into the next room and do so once again to these two guards, Lynch will
very likely grab one himself and take him down. Now head into the next room to
meet Yoko. After some talking Lynch will knock her down and it\'s time to get
out of here. Run into the previous room and start to head down the stairs.

Now look for guys with flashlights. Run up on them and drop them, it may help
to tell Lynch to hang back for a few while you clear the enemies out. The only
strategy I found that works is to take them out in melee by drawing them away
in small numbers and taking them out. There really isn\'t any good way to kill
the enemies here since they made sure this level is about as obnoxious as all
the other annoying levels in every other game ever made added together.

Simply put if Lynch gets shot once, he\'s dead. That\'s it. So you have to do
your best to kill the guards without even letting them see him. I prefer to do
this room by room, kill all guards in one room, send him to a corner of that
room, kill the guards in the next room and then repeat.

In the first room there will be one outside the door, one likely on the stairs
and one standing near a pillar just a short distance away. Once you take them
out two more will come through the doorway near the water wall, take them out
to make your life easier. Now head for the bar and take out the guard here.
Call for Lynch to come to where you are and head for the stairs to the left of
the bar.

--------------

Go up that, taking out the two guards and then take out the one guard near the
stairwell to your right. Now take out the two guards in the hall to your left
and bring Lynch up here after you. In this last room hunt down the guard (he
should be near the bar if the crowd isn\'t freaking out) and move for the stairs
here. There will be at least one guard up here but during one play I found two
of them here, that got Lynch killed real fast.

Regardless follow the signs to the fire door and go through that doorway. Make
sure to call Lynch to follow you.

--------------

Now you get to see how worthless Lynch is, since after all that Yoko manages to
simply kick him in the nuts and run off. Great, this is turning into a bad
episode of South Park when crotch kicks are all it takes to undo how much work
getting her out of there? Ugh.

Move across the roof until you see a giant window. Take out your pistol and
shoot the guy in black in the head. Once he has dropped wait for Yuko to reload
her pistol and drop in on her, knocking her out with a melee attack. Time to
bring her to the roof. Again. Ugh...

There will be a man right outside the room, on the walkway so take him out.
Another will be on the staircase coming up and a third will be hiding behind a
pillar. If you take them out you should find a sub-machine gun, this will make
the next areas easier. Now a new guard will come into the room past the water
wall, take him out. Rush into that room and duck behind the bar, shooting out
the guard that is down here. Call Lynch into this room and have him hide near
the bar, in a corner.

Head up the stairs and therewill be two enemies on the upper level and one on
the lower level. Due to how far away they are I suggest taking your pistol and
lining up some head shots. That makes this area much easier to manage. Once you
have downed them head up into the room. In the next room there will be two
enemies on the ground and three on the upper levels.

The first is right above where you walk into the room. To get at him watch the
ceiling as you approach the room and he will start shooting at you from a small
hole in the ceiling. Take your pistol and shoot him up while using a pillar as
some cover. Once he is dead go into the room, there will be an enemy to your
right and left on the upper levels. Take them out however you choose. Once the
three guards are taken care of you can now go ahead into the fire exit.

Leave Lynch on the lower level and go up the stairs, taking cover behind one
of the ceiling fixtures. Two guards will start to shoot at you, one who charges
your position most of the time and the other who hides behind a pipe. Take them
out and continue forward. You are in the clear until you reach the skylights
which are up the stairs near Yoko\'s office.

When you get up to the top of the stairs get behind some of the machinery and
start shooting enemies in the head from across the way. Try to take them out as
quickly as you can, they like to charge your position with their guns blazing.
Once you take out the lot of them watch the rooftops near to the skylight. You
will see a guard up there with a sub-machine gun, shoot him in the face.

Head across the skylights carefully and go on up the stairs to end the chapter.

==============================
Chapter 6 - Exchange
==============================
Run along the path until you reach the pagoda. Head on inside and pick up the
phone there. Yay for doublecrosses!

--------------

Since you left that retard Lynch with Yoko things don\'t go as planned. You will
be besieged by gunfire from both sides, let your cronies take care of that
while you do your best to hide. There are two snipers here that will one shot
you in the head if you leave yourself exposed for too long. From the middle of
the pagoda one should be to your left almost directly, on the upper level of
the overpass, and the other one should be forward and to the left a bit. The
best way to put it is that from the center of that pagoda one is at 9 O\'clock
and the second is at 2 O\'clock.

Now take out the rest of the enemies that are lingering on the bridge, there
may still be a fair amount of them depending on how good a job your flunkies
managed to do here. Once they are done for start heading back the way you came
to the pagoda from.

--------------

As you continue forward from here enemies are going to start coming from all
sides, both in front of you and from your right side. It can be hard to see who
is shooting at you even though they all have flashlights on the tips of their
guns. Keep trying to push forward and keep ordering your men to fight, if one
of them seems to be having difficulty try to help him. Another good idea is to
be liberal with your grenades, put them where you need them and blow the crap
out of groups of enemies.

When you cross the bridge and Kane starts berating Lynch for killing Yoko start
heading for cover. There is another sniper here as well as a bunch of guards.
Do your best to remain low and out of sight and you should have little problem
here, if you do expose yourself before the sniper is dead then expect to have
your head taken off. Once you clear out this area head for the stairs to your
right hand side and go up them.

--------------

After a short conversation with Lynch you will have to deal with two police men
on the stairs. Take them out however you like, I prefer melee, and then head up
the stairs. When you get to the top you will have a stand off with some cops
and SWAT officers. Try to use the cars and highway walls for cover and be sure
of who you are shooting at before you pull the trigger, it\'s too easy to aim at
your allies here.

Once the cops go down, which shouldn\'t be too hard, head for the van, located
along the highway past the cops, and go on in to end the level.

==============================
Chapter 7 - Reunion
==============================
As soon as the level begins rush the guy with the gun. You will take him out
and beat him to a pulp with a shovel. Once he is done for take his gun, Lynch
should be taking out the other guy. Now the enemies are going to start coming
after you from all four directions. The first will be from the direction of the
rising sun, take out those three enemies. From here they are going to come from
all sides and start going after you from a distance.

However when they close in they are going to go after Jenny in the hole and try
to kill her. So basically when they have a guy with a gun pointed at their face
they shoot at the girl in the hole? Ah yes, nice way to break my suspension of
disbelief. I\'m sorry but I\'d rather have my face, killing the guy with the gun
and then his kid but that\'s just me. Ugh...

Anyways the second group comes from just past the van, in that little garage
looking area. Take out the four of them, pick up their pistols for more ammo
and then turn 180 degrees. Enemies will start coming from this direction now.
Once they have been disposed of turn to your left and you should see a few cars
start to pull up. Once they are taken out pick up an automatic weapon and get
ready for some trouble.

--------------

Now you get to fight a dump truck... yay?! This fight is really obnoxious since
it seems super hard but it actually isn\'t all that difficult. You will likely
die here a few times trying to figure out exactly what you need to do here but
don\'t fret too much, it isn\'t that hard.

Wait for it to make its first pass and immediately climb up out of the hole
after it. Run after the truck and you should be able to see that his driver
side window and the front windshield are both vunlerable. Now don\'t bother with
any fancy shots here, all you need to do is break one of these windows. The
drivers side one is the weaker one but the front is easier to hit. Many prefer
to go after the drivers side but I don\'t.

Run after it and wait for it to start to turn around while you stay just to the
right of it. When it stops moving and begins turning try to stay moving with it
and start shooting at the front windshield. Simply keep blasting away at it and
the windshield will crack, likely before it even gets to fully turn. If it does
drive away from you, follow it but when it starts slowing down, pull back. If
it gets to make a second pass it will kill her on the third pass so you might
as well stand your ground. Stay in front of it and keep shooting at the front
windshield near the driver until the glass breaks and the driver dies.

See, it\'s easy once you know what you\'re doing.

==============================
Chapter 8 - Breakout
==============================
Hop down off the wreckage you are standing on and turn to face the large glass
panels. You will see a guard start shooting at you from inside that room but
don\'t fire at him just yet. It takes around six good pistol shots to break that
glass so line up a shot for his head, wait for the glass to break and take him
down and out.

Now head through the broken glass and turn to your right. There will be two
guards in the rooms in front of you beyond the open doorway. The first is near
the far door and the other hiding behind a table in the back. Take out the two
of them before going through the first door and turning to your left. There is
another guard off in the distance behind some glass. Try to take him out before
a second arrives because one will and its easier to take them one at a time.

Now go to the end of this corridor and go into the left room. Use your pistol
to take out one of the glass panels and hop through. Move into the next room
and turn left to face the open doorways. This next area is a bit rough.

--------------

As soon as you enter the walkway the far door will open and two guards will
rush out at you. Try to take them out with headshots since it saves you ammo
and they don\'t do too much damage. Now move forward slowly until you recieve
warning that there are snipers in the towers. Let Lynch do as he pleases right
now and move forward slowly until you see the metal plates built into the sides
of the walkway, sprint for it and I do mean sprint. Any slower and you might be
on the recieving end of a headshot. There are two guards in the grassy area but
they don\'t need to be fought.

Once you are safely at the metal plate sprint from there to the door and bring
Lynch to your side. Now head through the door to your right and look towards
the ceiling. There are three guards up there on a metal balcony. Lynch will be
really useful here, his shotgun takes them out pretty fast. If you like you can
hang back by the door and pick off one or two while he charges in and takes out
the remainder.

Now move into the room with the red door and take out the guard in here if your
buddy Lynch hasn\'t already done so. Hit the button to open the Cellblock A door
and move back to the entrance to this room. There are guards are outside on the
upper level to your right (where you came into this hallway from). They\'re on
top of the chain link ceiling so shoot through it to kill the first. The second
usually stays well out of sight so send Lynch into the room (B or O button) and
wait for those two to start shooting at each other before you head out and kill
the guard.

The door to the Cellbock is now open so head through it. When you see the glass
doorframe slow down movement, there are guards in the far room. The first is
fairly easy to see so take him out with a headshot or somesuch when he emerges
from behind the pillar. The second one is directly to the right of the first
behind another pillar. Once he is down head into the room.

When the lights go red that means a lockdown has occurred. You need to get to
the control room to undo it. You can take either staircase but I suggest taking
the one on the right, two guards will usually come out of that one and they are
much easier to get rid of if you are on that side. Send Lynch up the left side
of the room and he will get rid of that guard there. One guard will usually be
on the bottom floor so get rid of him as well and move on.

Head on into the security room, where the guards emerged from, and hit the
button on the control panel to open the cells. Click your objective marker on
and head over to the indicated cell (it\'s on your left side now) to talk to
Rific and get him on your side.

--------------

As soon as this scene starts you are going to be getting shot at by four or
five guards (I can never see because they force you into cover). Just fling a
grenade over there and shoot the remainder with whatever weapons you like.

Now head to the open doorway (use your objective indicator if you need to) and
go on through it. Take the right passage but stop at the window and watch what
happens in there. Once the second guard kills the prisoner head to the glass
doorway and use it for cover. That guard will come out of the room and fire in
your direction. Take him out with a headshot and head into the room he came out
of. Take the first door to your right but have your buddies hang back.

There are two guards in the mess hall that need to be taken care of, one on the
left side near a table and one on the right near the pillar in the back of the
room. Get rid of them and then take the stairs up. Once again have your men
hang back and go to the glass doorframe and take out the guard all the way to
your right in the back of the room.

With him dead lean in just a bit more and take out the second guard. He is
hiding behind the third pillar from the first guard along the right wall. There
is a pair of guards just to the right of him behind another pillar. They aren\'t
usually all that accurate so just shoot them in the head and call your buddies
over. Now go around the upper level and take the stairs found here (or double
back like Rific says, whatever) and go into the mess hall.

Follow the orange line and you will see an open doorway. Through it and to the
left some inmates are having a shootout with some guards, help the inmates and
kill the guards so that they don\'t do any potshots to you. Go through the next
door and down the stairs. Head into the laundry room and run for the depressed
area with stuff all on the floor. There will be two guards just up ahead so the
cover from the laundry cart is useful. Kill them and move to the back of the
laundry room, opening up the door to the Boiler Room. Now you have a full
group to take on The7 with.

All that\'s left is to get out of here.

--------------

Guards are going to swarm the laundry room, tossing smoke grenades and just
firing at everyone. Either fling a few frag grenades to thin their ranks or let
your posse thin them out. Whatever pleases you. Clear out the room and pick up
one of the rifles. Now head out of the laundry room and send your boys up the
stairs, there is a guard up there and the gang will take him out real fast. Now
go up the stairs towards the kitchen area.

There are a bunch of guards in the kitchen now, they will usually be at the far
end of the room but some of them will get bold and move in. Send your squad in
to attack while you back them up from a distance with your pistol and rifle. If
you do it well you should wipe out the lot of them without taking much in the
ways of damage from the opposition.

Move over to the red door but leave your biddies hanging back. There are two
snipers in the tower to your left that can tag you even if you\'re using the red
door as cover. Try to stand near the left open door and lean out, take a shot
and hide when the screen shows them lining up a headshot. If you crouch next to
the door and keep moving in and out of their line of fire you should have next
to no problem lining up a rifle headshot. Once they are dead it is time to get
that last sniper.

Turn totally to your right and start heading out into the yard area. You should
see a sniper standing on the rooftop to your extreme right. Line up a shot with
him and take him out, headshots might be too hard to pull of here so just pop
him with whatever you like. Once he is down gather your men and head on into
the yard.

From the doorway head to the far right corner of the yard and climb up on top
of the garbage machine and get up onto the rooftop area. Now head to the right
along the path and you will see a yard area that is burning. Take out the bunch
of guards down here however you like, it shouldn\'t be too hard. There can be up
to five of them although the inmates firing this way usually kill at least one
of them before you get involved. Try for head shots since these guys aren\'t
going to be paying 100% attention to you so save on the ammo. One is hugging
the wall you are standing on so take him out and then hop down using the bins.

Make sure your squad is all together at this point and head inside of the next
cell block area. Now move along the right wall and you should find Shelly with
no difficulty.

--------------

Once you\'ve finished talking to Shelly turn around and take out the guards that
start shooting at you. Once you have cleared the path you need to head up the
three staircase levels to the control room. You will have guards shooting from
all angles at you so try to let your squad thin them out while you keep moving.

When you reach the control room toss in a smoke grenade to chase out the guard
or two that are hiding in there and then shoot them up. Press the button in the
control room to let the inmates run amok in the asylum.

--------------

Go through the doorways when they open up and continue forward. When you reach
the large outside area with the fences start shooting at the guards across the
way. They move around a lot so you might have to lead them but body shots will
take them out pretty easily if you still have that rifle. Once they are all
dead head in that direction. When you make your second left hand turn two more
guard are going to come out of a doorway to shoot at you, kill them and then
head for that doorway.

Head down that hallway and over to the open door. Go up the stairs and you will
see a guard with his back to you. Headshot him and toss either a smoke grenade
to distract the enemies or a frag grenade to kill one or two of them. There are
three more of them up there so ice them. Now start shooting at the guards in
the other towers, they can hit you so get to them first. Do not open the gate
up just yet.

Once all of the guards are done for in the two towers hit the button to open up
the gate and immediately run for cover. The helicopter is going to circle and
start firing into the room. Its shots don\'t seem to do all that much damage to
your squad members but it can bring you down pretty quickly. Try to stay ducked
behind something, keeping it between you and the chopper and open fire on it.
This way you will be able to keep hitting it and just duck down if you start to
take too much damage. Hit it enough and it will explode removing this obstacle
from your path.

Now move over to the indicated spot and rappel down the wall. I suggest that
you drop a smoke grenade here before you do so. If one of your men gets hit as
you are rappelling down you are essentially stuck. So just drop it, rappel down
and meet up with Shelly. Now start shooting at the guards that are on the level
up above you, don\'t try anything fancy just hit them and tell your friends to
do the same.

Once they are all dead head for the door to the left of where you came down
into the yard. Head through those doors but stop at the second one. To your
right there is a guard up in a tower, take him out. While you\'re doing this the
inmates are going to knock over a fence. Start heading to your left over the
fence and take out any cops that have come as back up.

The first cop will be hiding behind a green truck shooting at another inmate.
Hit him from a distance before moving forward. The second will be just to the
left of the first, get him quickly to stop him from hitting you too much.

With them dead it\'s a straight run to the end of the level. Look to your left
and you should see a big red prison transport. Run for that, it\'s your ticket
straight out of this hell hole.

==============================
Chapter 9 -
==============================
To make your life a bunch easier here, I suggest you go to Thaga and switch
your machine gun for his semi-auto rifle. It makes fighting the enemies quite a
bit easier here.

Now head forward and you will see a helipad. You have to take out the guards up
here, I suggest popping one in the head and smoke grenading the others. This
will make clean up for your crew all the easier. Head across the helipad to set
off a cutscene.

--------------

Climb up onto the ledge and rappel down. Kane will plant the bomb automatically
and as soon as he is done the guards will start shooting at him. Run to either
the extreme left or right of the platform you are on to avoid the bomb go boom.
This will kill Retamoto and the guards closest to the window but everyone else
in the room will start shooting back. Hug the pillar closest to the side you
hid and shoot the enemies that you can before you switch to the other side and
do the same.

It shouldn\'t take too long to clear out the room and if you get taken out just
reload the scene. This area is easy and the following ones aren\'t so you might
want to do this as best you can.

Once the room is clear let your men move around the room a bit and move over to
Retamoto to claim your briefcase and leave him with a gift.

Now that you have the briefcase run forward until you are hugging one of the
red pillars just a bit back from the door to this room. Guards are going to
bust into the room and if you aren\'t positioned good you will die fast. Try to
have a grenade at the ready for them so that once they bust open the door you
can fling it at them and do some damage. Once they actually breach the room be
careful and take them out, this can get a bit hectic so don\'t lose your cool.

After the room is cleared once again you will have to actually start moving
further into Retamotos building.

--------------

Take the left path but do so slowly. You will see a guard in front of you, pop
him in the head as soon as you see him. Call your cronies to follow you and go
forward more. Take out the second nearby guard and use the desk for cover. This
area is saturated with enemies and using the desk as cover is your best bet.
Keep shooting and directing your men to do the same to clear this floor out.

Now move to the ledge and start shooting down at the enemies here. You should
have a good vantage point to line up headshots, kill enemies and then retreat
so that you can heal up. Keep on doing this until you can kill no more enemies
from your angle. Leave your squad up here fighting the enemies (order them to
positions) and head down the stairs carefully. Clean up this floor by yourself
but be careful since there are bound to be a few straggler enemies your squad
hasn\'t killed.

Once that is done send your squad to positions on this level and start thinning
out the first floor enemies with their assistance. Once you have fully cleared
out the bottom floor start moving forward. Prepare a grenade and aim it at the
elevator at the back of the bottom floor. As you approach it a bunch of guards
will come out of it. Fling that grenade at them and then start shooting your
gun at them. One of them is carrying a pretty heavy machine gun. Send the gang
on over there and have them help you take out the enemies.

With that finally done head on over to the elevator to the left of the one that
the enemies emerged from and you will be on your way to the next area.

==============================
Chapter 10 -
==============================
What a nice police officer, trying to her the murderers to safety. Almost feel
bad knowing that I\'m likely going to shoot him in a few moments. Ah well.

Take out the three police officers inside of the lobby quickly and move to take
up positions near the entrance, by the pillars. Start shooting at the cops that
are still outside and throw back any gas grenades they fling at you. The cops
here move around so much it is hard to give precise instructions on how to move
to take them all out. Regardless just keep on shooting and be aware of where
return fire is coming from. If they\'re causing you problems just fling grenades
at the cars to destroy them and kill the enemies hiding behind them.

You are going to need to keep this up for a bit, the cops almost seem to never
stop coming. But so long as you keep shooting you will eventually take them out
and be able to move on. You can tell when you\'re almost done since Kane will
start talking to the driver over their communications. There is also a scene
change when you finish.

--------------

Turn to the left as soon as the scene changes and start shooting at the cops
all the way to your rear. There are four or so of them and they can be pretty
accurate at times. Once they are handled start moving towards your objective
indicator. Use the cars as cover and keep moving until you start getting shot
at from above on the walking bridge. Order your men to take out the guys up
there and shoot the cops on the street level. Once the area has been pacified
move on forward.

Make your way up onto the overpass and use the billboards attached to it as
cover from the snipers. Now you need your squad to attack the sniper for you.
The problem is that they are too retarded to actually do so. Try to stay close
to the sign and out of enemy fire and let your squad take out the cops in the
area because this distracts them. Once the cops are done for, order them onto
the street level and then order them to attack the sniper. You have a 50/50
chance of them actually doing it and taking him out or just standing there and
looking stupid. If they take him out, great. If not then you\'re stuck and going
to have to keep repeating this. Yay for great squad AI!

If that isn\'t working for you run over to the green bus in the left area of
the road and hide behind it. Now creep forward until they point out the sniper
guys on the upper level up ahead. Run back behind the bus and use it as cover
from the snipers while you shoot at the cops that come from your rear. Now look
to your left, past the stairs and you should see a bluish building with large
window panes and pillars to hide behind. Run in that direction and start taking
out any cops you see.

Once the cops are taken out call your squad over and then send them up ahead to
take out the cops up there with the red shield things. Once they are dead send
your squad after the guys up on the bridge. From this angle they stand a much
better chance of actually listening to you and taking them out.

Regardless of the way you did so don\'t move from your position until you have
taken out all of the cops in the area. Now move forward until you reach an
intersection and turn to the left, this is the way you need to go. After some
moving forward you will hit a scene change/checkpoint. Took long enough.

--------------

Move forward to the end of the street until you reach an area where there are
some metal staircases to a lower level that seems to be a bus depot. There is a
butt load of SWAT members moving through the area downstairs so you can either
fight them from the upper level, this is hard due to the lack of good cover up
here, or you can rush to the bottom level. I chose the bottom level since this
afforded more cover.

Rush down the stairs, sprinting as fast as you can, and get to a bus for some
cover. Now start taking out SWAT guys as you can see them, using buses and the
pillars for cover. You will likely be here for some time so keep your allies
close to you and shoot anyone that emerges from hiding as quickly as you can.
These guys don\'t take much to kill but they can put out the hurt pretty fast.

After you take out enough of the guards you will have to deal with some SWAT
who come up your rear via the staircases there. Take them out and then deal as
agressively as you can with any stragglers, you\'re almost done.

Bring up the objective marker and start heading in that direction, towards the
far end of the bus depot. When you reach the leftmost side head towards the
exit in front of you. There will be a lone bus and three SWAT guys with shields
who come up in your path. Getting rid of these guys isn\'t easy no matter how
you cut it so I suggest flinging a grenade at them or letting your squad play
distraction while you catch up to them. Or, if you are good enough with your
pistol, go for headshots.

However you get them out of the way do so and then run for the van to end this
freaking stage.

On to Havana!

==============================
Chapter 11 - Freedom Fighters
==============================
As soon as the level starts there are four guys in the outside area that are
shooting at you with machine guns. Try to use the cover and take them out from
your vantage point. It\'s much easier to do so from up here than anywhere else.
Make your way through the open door and drop down. Continue moving to meet up
with the rest of the squad. As soon as this area starts give Thapa your machine
gun and take his grenade launcher. He doesn\'t use it so unless you want him
using a pistol this whole level give it up.

Go forward and to your left, there are enemies out here and some mortar fire.
So long as you don\'t rush forward blindly the mortar isn\'t that big of a
problem. Also, avoid the middle area.

There is one enemy off to the left and another in front of you, your squad is
more than capable of fighting the two of them without your interference. Once
your squad stops shooting run forward and take cover behind the cement barrier.
More enemies are going to come pouring in from all directions so keep your eyes
open for where gunfire is coming from, trace it to its source and shoot them in
the face.

Move over to the left side once the middle area starts being mortar bombed to
hell and grab a rifle from one of the downed bodies. It doesn\'t fire as fast as
the machine gun but it\'s incredibly ideal for headshot attempts and it\'s got a
serious whallop. Plus it lets you get rid of Thapa\'s worthless grenade launcher
if you did the trade off.

With that in hand start moving up the left side, taking cover from and killing
any enemies that poke out. After you move up a bit an enemy with a machine gun
will appear near the steps straight ahead, take him out and keep moving in that
direction.

When you near the church run for the cover that a nearby pillar affords. There
is a sniper up on top of the church steeple and two machine gunners to your
left who can cut you down real fast if you aren\'t careful. With that done keep
heading towards the stairs.

Upon reaching the mounted machine gun enemies will appear at the top of the
stairs, use cover judiciously to take them out and then move forward. There are
a few more that will spawn in when you are at the top of the stairs so get them
as well. To your right you should see some archways, inside of those lies an
RPG (rocket propelled grenade), you will need this soon so make note of where
it is.

Up around the corner is a armored vehicle with a mounted weapon. Once all the
other enemies are dead pick up the RPG and get close enough to hit it with one
shot. Now look around for some benches near the brush in the middle of this
area, another RPG is there. Pick that up and hit the vehicle with it as well to
get rid of it. Grab your rifle and continue forward.

As soon as your little army joins up with you the bad news begins. You will
have to clear an enemy thick area, complete with helicopter and trucks with gun
turrets, before you reach a checkpoint for this entire thing. Die here and you
get to start from the very beginning.

With that in mind you can\'t really afford to take any chances so we are going
to do this the slow and steady way. Move along the road, past the armored
vehicle you took out, and you will see soldiers shooting from behind some cover
to your right. Go on over and take them out. Now get your entire squad moving
with you and head up these stairs, taking out the soldier at the top. Order your squad into the farthest room with the (B or O button) and then tell one of
them to take the turret. Pick up the rifle from one of the dead soldiers, give
it to Lynch and drop the shotgun. It\'s worthless here.

Leave your allies to take out enemies however they like, orders to attack the
enemies send them rushing out to their certain death. Now hang out in the room
with your allies and fire at whatever enemies reveal themselves. Just keep on
moving around this upper area and taking out enemies whenever they give you the
oppurtunity to do so but stay mindful of that chopper.

Once all of the enemies you can see are dead pick up one of the RPGs and wait
for the chopper to pass by again. As soon as it is gone go to near the turret
and look to your right. You should see what looks like an army jeep with a gun
on the top of it. Fire your RPG carefully at it, don\'t miss or you\'re kind of
screwed, and take it out.

Now go ahead and pick up the second and move to near the turret. If you look
carefully you should see a second jeep with a gun turret next to the gazebo in
the middle of the area, take it out as well.

There are two ways to proceed now, you can either wait for around 10 minutes
and let your boys take out the chopper or you can try to move across the area.
If you want to wait simply hide somewhere you know you are safe and hang out.
Each time the chopper passes the group will shoot at it and it will start to
smoke. When you have done enough damage it will fly off and not return. Now it
isn\'t like this takes a short time so be prepared to be here for awhile. But if
you are too timid to move with the helicopter knocking you out over and over
your hesitation will likely get the chopper removed from the picture anyways.
So don\'t stress over it.

Either way as you move across the area enemies are going to spawn in and rush
you. The best way to do this is to send Lynch and Shelly through the area for
you and let them draw out enemies. Try ordering them slowly but steadily toward
the gazebo. As they go some enemies will charge from the right but since you,
Rific and Thapa are still on the upper level you can gun them down with ease,
especially if one of you guys is on the turret. Keep this up until you manage
to get your squad into the gazebo. Take your boys and head on over to the
gazebo and set up shop there.

With that area cleared move forward just a bit and some gunfire will come from
a balcony across from you. They seem only interested in you though so draw them
out and let your squad blow them away. Now you are free to start heading toward
the objective indicator, just be mindful. A group of enemies are going to pop
out at some point and this is a good place to get killed and have to start all
over, so keep your squad nearby.

As you move forward another sniper will appear on the balcony, take him out and
turn your attention to your right. Two or three men will run out and take cover
with their machine guns and shoot the heck out of your group. Wipe them out as
carefully as you can making good use of cover to finish them off. The next one
is located behind the barricade, using a green car as cover. Get him as well.

Move around the corner and you will see three more enemies to your left. Gun
them down before they get too entrenched. Now send your squad all the way in
front of you and follow them. A few more enemies will pop up and cause you some
trouble but if your squad is ready they will be gunned down in the blink of an
eye. So keep heading forward to the green marker.

Thank god! The level is over! Whoo... that was rough.

==============================
Chapter 12 - El Capitol
==============================
Move forward from the beginning and you will find yourself in a multi-level
courtyard area with enemies on all three levels firing at you. Stay behind the
pillars and shoot out at any enemies who you can see. Some of them will be
obscured by foliage, order Lynch to get them, and the others will be easier to
hit if you go for their backs so move around as needed. Once you have cleaned
out the enemies here start moving around the level until you get to a doorway.
Go inside and follow it around and you will reach an inside staircase.

Don\'t go rushing in though there are enemies inside here. There is a single
enemy behind a barricade here that is going to be shooting at you. Either take
him out or let Lynch do it. Now proceed forward and start heading up the stairs
here but do so slowly. You will see three barrels on the top landing. There is
a guard in the doorway just past them, take him out carefully.

Run up on the barrels and use them as cover to take out the enemy across the
way hiding behind a pillar. Once he is dead move into the middle area and then
turn to the right. Get behind the last pillar and lean out. In the next room
there is an enemy behind some sand bags. Pop him in the head and move forward.
There are no enemies just yet. Continue until you reach the rooftop exit and
a scene change.

--------------

As soon as you reach the rooftop head for the barrels, lean out to the left and
try to hit the guys as they run past. If you don\'t get any of them stay where
you are and watch your left side. Two of them will be outside your field of
vision but the third can be hit easily when he goes to shoot. Take him out and
move to the left, behind the small brick building. Shoot the next enemy you see
and keep moving to find the third if Lynch hasn\'t already gotten him.

Now move over to the ledge and look down to your right. See those two BTRs (the
armored vehicles)? You are going to have to take them out. Luckily there are
about 20 RPGs up here so pick one up, run to the ledge and shoot the front end
of the BTR. Two rockets will take each of them out. Don\'t worry if you miss one
or two times or if it takes three hits to take one out. You have enough ammo to
afford a mistake or two.

But now you have to deal with a helicopter. Move to the rightmost side of the
room and look to your right. You should see a high building with a prominent
rooftop, watch it but keep your back to the building you are near. When people
are chatting on your radio a sniper will appear, take him out or he will kill
you really fast.

Once he is dead grab an RPG and run to the leftmost part of the roof and hide
behind the cement block there. Sometimes the chopper will come from behind you
and take you out super fast other times it comes from near the capital building
so you have to keep your eyes on both directions. Wait until the helicopter
swings towards the building and goes down in front of you and then rises up in
front of the sign. While it will shoot you up during this you can get a clean
shot in. Hit it in the body, don\'t try fancy stuff, and then hide. Wait for it
to fly off and then grab another RPG. Repeat this process to kill the beast.

Once it is dead you can pick up the mounted machine gun that was blown up. It
makes for a rather good weapon since it does lots of damage and doesn\'t seem to
need to reload. Now move over to the broken wall and rappel down it. As soon as
you hit the street run for cover behind the tank. Don\'t stay too close to it
your idiot friends will run you over if you do. Have I ever said how much I
hate the AI in this game?

Rush for one of the pillars and send your people in to fight. The best cover
that you can find is the two statues on the lawn so try to make your way over
there and let your squad handle the fighting. One you are there carefully fight
by shooting people when possible or flinging grenades when needed. Don\'t try to
play hero here, your soldiers are going to get cut down and your squad will get
hurt but they are far more expendable than you. Just make sure you don\'t let
your squad mates die and things will be fine.

The only enemies that will pose a serious problem are the two machine gunners
near the doorway that enemies pour out of. Try to get a grenade near or behind
at least one of them to take them out and make things easier.

Once the smoke has cleared head for the entrance. There is an enemy pretty much
right inside the doorway. Send your squad in before you to take him out easily.
Now head for the stairs, sending your squad in first. They will be fired upon
by some enemies but if you fling a grenade up there you should take out the
gathering up there without any issue.

Get to the landing and turn to your left. You see that long hallway? Run into
it and immediately run for the cover of a pillar. Wait for the rocket that he
fires at you to explode and then lean out and pop him in the face. With him out
of the way gather up your squad and head for where he was standing. Grab up his
weapon and move on.

You can use his RPG to blast the enemies in the next room. Now pick up your old
gun and head on inside the capitol.

--------------

Go to your right once you are inside to start up a little conversation. Now you
need to head that way. You can use the RPG if you ignored me and still have it
or you can fling some grenades at the enemies as you slink forward slowly to
damage them as you move in. Basically you need to make your way to the chunk of
rubble closest to them and fling grenades over their barricade. It isn\'t easy
and it\'s quite the pain in the butt but it will be done eventually.

Once you take them out get your men and start heading in. You will come across
the guy who broke Kane\'s nose. He has a seriously powerful machine gun so you
need to blast his face off quickly. Once he has been dropped you can head in
and listen to Kane talk trash to him. Now move for the other door and head into
the large room slowly. There are three guys in here, two to your left and one
to your right. Take them out quickly and the level is over.

==============================
Chapter 13 - Bird\'s Eye View
==============================
From the beginning of the level proceed forward until you reach Carlos. Let the
conversation play itself out and then turn to your left and start moving down
the path. Definitely take the sniper rifle from Carlos, you\'re gonna need it.
After you reach the jungle area slow down a bit. You should see a fallen pillar
a short distance in front of you, the enemies come out behind that.

Now send your squad forward, hang back and take out your sniper rifle. When the
guys come running out whip out the sniper rifle and kill the obnoxious enemies
that take up place to your right. The enemies there all have full automatic
weapons and they can gun you down in less than a second. The pillars provide
you no cover from them so hang back and try to snipe them.

You will probably need to pick off one of the guys to your left on a cliff and
then the guy on the turret to your right. Lean out and try to hit him from
behind your squad, who should still be at the fallen pillar. This is the safest
way to go about this.

Start making your way along the right path. Depending on how things went the
enemies that lurk here may or may not have already been taken out. If they have
then head forward. If not then use the trees and rocks as cover to do so.

Once you have reached the turret simply keep moving towards the green objective
indicator to finish this scene.

--------------

The game seems to want you to proceed through this area all cautious like to
stop the enemy from firing off its flare. Well forget that. I\'ve managed to get
through this through more openly violent means and never have the flare go off.

From your spot atop the rappel point you have a perfect shot at pretty much
everyone down in the valley. You can snipe off a bunch of them before they ever
get the chance to fight back. Move near to the tree closest to the rappel point
and send Lynch and one other to the left of the tree to watch that side and the
others should stand just a bit back from you to your right against the wall.
This gives you great all around coverage of your behind. Carefully move to the
ledge and look for the guy walking around in the field beneath you. Line up a
headshot, pop him in the head and then retreat to the tree. Nobody will notice
this happened.

Now lean out and shoot the two men inside of the hut. When they move around
they will eventually stand near enough to each other that they are lined up. If
you aim at the one nearest the window and headshot him it will hit the other in
the chest area, killing him as well. This starts the others shooting up at you
but the tree is for cover.

When you think you can chance it, lean out and hit one of the guys on the
turrets in the head. Pull back and keep doing this until the enemies that are
trying to use the turrets are dead. While you are doing this the soldiers that
were walking in the field will usually try to come up the waterfall along the
narrow ledge to your left. Lynch and his shotgun make for a real nasty sort of
surprise for them.

Keep doing this until you don\'t see any more guards. Now order your squad near
to the barrels down in the field and they will start to fight with any of the
remaining troops. Help them out from a distance and close in when you have to,
picking up a rifle as you go.

Once the hut itself has been rendered a non-issue, have all of your men gather
inside and try to take out the guys on the other side of it. It may help if you
circle around the hut to your left and get behind those trees and use them as
cover while you help your buddies. If you order one to man the turret this will
go a lot easier.

As soon as the soldiers are wiped out, proceed forward.

--------------

There will be an enemy here, up on your right. Shoot him down and then get
ready for another area where you will be reloading lots of times.

To start this off an enemy is going to be moving towards you. If you are too
slow you will have to gun him down. If not then you may notice him crossing the
bridge, try to melee him to death. Now to prepare for this area make sure that
your whole squad is using machine guns, even Lynch.

Send them to the barrier on the overlook to start this fight off. Of course
there are a bunch of turrets, joy. Let your guys handle that while you keep an
eye on the barrels to the right, this is where the flares are located and you
don\'t want them to be set off or you have to start this section over. Just use
your rifle to shoot them down. Not the sniper rifle though, it fires too slow.

If you find that your men are getting taken out, then there is another option.
Move along the rocky path where the bridge is and send your squad up and out that way to handle the turrets while you run back to the overlook and keep an
eye out on them. Shoot over, offer some assistance and shoot down anyone who
tries to run for the flares. Once the enemies that are standing there are dead
some more will try to run over, help your squad get rid of them to finish off
this area.

--------------

A nice easy area. Rush towards the burning hut and move for the middle one.
Before you get too close toss a grenade inside of it and then order your men to
head in, following them. From in here you should have a good vantage point to
take out the five or so men outside, just keep your men away from the right
side of the hut. Once the enemies are dead exit the house from the left side,
dropping down, and then hug the left rock wall while you move forward. When you
see the jeep get a grenade out and fling it at the side of the vehicle. If done
right you will get it to land just next to it and blow up the enemy manning the
turret on it.

With that done bring your squad along and start heading down that path. If you
aren\'t comfortable leaving the vehicle there, another grenade should blow it up
and render it useless to the enemy. As you head forward you will see another
rappel point, head on down.

As soon as your feet touch the floor turn to your right and look up onto the
bridge across from you. See that guy? Shoot him before he sets off a flare.
Keep going forward to enter the final stretch of this mission.

--------------

You cannot let any of the guards get away from this village so pull out your
assault rifle and lets get to work. Move towards the ledge and start shooting
at any enemies you can hit, moving around to get better angles. Keep your guys
back so that they don\'t get hit. Now keep on shooting the enemies until you
either get them all or one hops into the jeep.

If one gets into the jeep you have to take him out before he gets away. Take
aim at the front of the vehicle, near the driver side window, and start firing
away at it. It should blow up before getting too far away if you are using the
assault rifle type weapons.

Stay up here until you don\'t see anymore enemies, or get fired upon, and then
move over to the wall. Send your squd to rappel down and follow the first two
that go. An enemy will appear on a cliff to your right while you rappel down
but if the others were sent first they will kill him for you.

Now turn to your left and head through that pass, keeping an eye on your right.
Move to the big tree and look out along its left side, you should see a turret
in a window. There are enemies in there, usually only one by this point. Fling
a grenade in there to flush him out and move your squad over to the window with
the turret.

Lean yourself out to peek into the street and you should see a man on a turret.
The green barrel in front of you stops his shots from hitting you but it does
not stop you from giving him a headshot. Do so. Continue heading forward until
you see a bridge, head for it to end this freaking level once and for all.

==============================
Chapter 14 - Within the Walls
==============================
Simply move forward to get through this portion of the level.

--------------

As soon as this section begins look down and to your left and snipe the guard
there with the flashlight. Now continue forward across the wooden planks and
fling a frag grenade into the campfire. This should kill at least two of the
guards and leave the third trying to shoot you. Snipe him off. Order Carlos to
move behind some rocks near the beginning of the stage to keep him hidden while
you clean up.

Now back up a bit and look up above the cliff face. See that wooden tower? Hit
the guard up in there in the face.

Once he is gone move forward until you are near some rocks (to your left side)
and look into the guard tower in the base. Shoot him in the head and then hit
the guard dozing off in front of the gate. Now you can order Carlos over to the
gate and let him do his thing. Take Kane and head along the path you are on
until you meet up with your squad. After some little... revelations the plot
thickens. Next scene!

--------------

Leave your squad behind here and proceed forward to the ledge. Once you see the
two guards walking around, line up a headshot and hit one in the face. This is
going to set off the alarm but that is okay. It just means more people to shoot
in the head.

Stay where you are and slowly but steadily pick off the enemies. A good way to
do this is to hit the guy in the truck turret in the head and let someone else
refill that spot and then take him out. They usually don\'t shoot at you so you
can do this without fear. Once you have finished off all the ones near that
truck, look to the right.

There are a few guys hiding inside of a indoor area, hit them in the head. Now
stand up and look down to your left. You should see a lone guy down here. Get
rid of him as well. With those out of the way slowly slink forward towards the
metal lattice and take out your sniper rifle. You should see a man at another
jeep turret. Take him out and turn to your left. Another enemy will be behind
some boxes there, get rid of him.

Do one last sweep of the area, some enemies may have moved to more easily hit
positions by this point. Get rid of them and then rappel down. Start heading up
the hill. Run to the wall furthest away from you and turn to your left. Head
that way, following the wall. You will go behind a building and then come out
from behind it. Stop there and look out into the open area. If you look around
with a close eye you should see a number of enemies out behind sandbags and
some straight across from you in the open. Shoot them down.

Now continue along the wall and as you near the corner enemies should start
shooting from close by. Take them all out before moving forward. Send your men
out past the crate and they will draw out all of the enemies in this area. Let
them handle that while you shoot at the guys in the building to your left and
up in the guard tower. Once you have taken them out head around the corner to
the right but hug the wall.

There\'s a sniper here! Order your boys to take him out while you hide like a
sissy. Move forward once he is dead and take out the guard that comes running
out at you. Continue forward but keep your squad back. When you near the wide
open arch to the next area you will be charged by a soldier. Pull back out of
range of the battery of jeep turrets and take him out with a melee attack.

Sprint across the entrace to the courtyard and stand on the other side for a
bit. Shoot anyone that emerges from the doorway and then stick to the wall. Try
to shoot at an angle to take out any enemies over there, backing up whenever
you see enemies getting close to you. Once all of the ground troops have been
taken out turn your attention to the jeeps. You should be able to hit the guy
farthest from you in the face.

Camp out here a bit, watching both of the jeep turrets and keep on killing any
of the guards who try getting into it. If you keep this up for a bit they will
eventually run out of reinforcements. You can make this easy by just standing a
little bit out in the open, killing both jeep turret users and then hanging out
right there. You should have a great shot at both turrets and then men will
totally ignore you to get to each of them. Pop them down as they come.

Now move for the right side of the wall just inside the courtyard. Go up the
stairs here and move along the upper level. Send your squad in ahead of you and
keep them well in front of you. The enemies here use lots of grenades and it\'s
far too easy for you to die here numerous times and OD on adrenaline.

Once all the enemies in the courtyard are dead head towards the hallway to the
next area. If you have any ammo you can reclaim your sniper rifle and pick them
off before entering the next level. If not, time to do it the hard way.

Move forward until you see bullets flying at you. Call your squad up and try to
position them so that they can shoot the enemies. If you do this right they are
going to stand there, being shot and returning fire. Keep them there for a bit
and then call them back to let them heal. Keep doing this until you have killed
off the enemies on the left side.

With your back safe either pull out the sniper rifle and look in the windows
and behind cover for enemies to kill or charge in. With careful grenade use and
sending your squad to take shots for you, you can clear this area out without
too much difficulty.

Head on inside to switch the scenes.

--------------

As soon as you head inside approach Jenny to start a cutscene. If you wait for
the guy to stop talking you will be gunned down. If you run away you will be
gunned down. There\'s only one solution here, shoot the land mine near Carlos\'
dead body. Once that goes off a cutscene will ensue. When that ends run for the
cover of a nearby pillar.

Lean out and shoot at any guards that you can see. The balcony that they are on
doesn\'t afford much protection so just take them out. You will need to move
around the room a bit to find them all but so long as you stay covered you will
be fine. Just keep moving and taking people out and this will be over and done
with before you know it.

==============================
Chapter 15 - Choice
==============================
You will be mounting a turret in the back of a jeep now which is... wonderful.
The sheer fact that you do best to avoid using these things at any point in the
game, and you\'re now being forced to use it, is just wonderful. The turret gets
a good seven seconds of gunfire before it overheats, slows down and then stops
working. This should never happen to you. Fire in short controlled bursts to
help hit soldiers and most jeeps will explode before you ever come close to the
overheat point so long as you aren\'t missing. Which you shouldn\'t be.

Anyways watch straight ahead. When they mention that they can see \"them\" get
ready with the turret. A turret on the back of a jeep will begin shooting at
you, you have to take it out before it kills you since there are no adrenaline
shots here. Once it\'s dead shoot at the soldiers on the ground. Lynch will do
his best to kill them but don\'t rely on it.

As you are passing the truck where you killed the guy in the turret, look to
your left and start shooting at that jeep right there. It will chase you as you
drive past so take it out. Now start watching directly in front of you. A group
of four soldiers have blocked off the road with a jeep and one has a rocket
launcher. Ignore the soldiers and blow up the jeep, aiming at the front makes
this go faster. If you blow up the jeep then you are going to kill most, if not
all, of the soldiers so don\'t bother wasting time on them.

The jeep will start moving again so just keep your eyes peeled. You can relax
until you reach a dead end. When you do a truck will be on your right. Aim at
the front to blow it up faster as it drives towards you through the grass. It
is difficult but if you don\'t do so in a timely manner then you will be killed.
Your driver willl begin backing up and this scene ends here.

--------------

But you\'re still in the jeep turret. As you were backing up you should have
seen a lone soldier in the tunnel. When you turn that way shoot him dead and
look to your left for some more soldiers. Don\'t get too distracted though, a
watchtower is going to be along your path and they have rocket launchers up in
there with them. Shoot at the tower in general to take it out, it shouldn\'t
take more than a second or two of gunfire to take it out. Aim in the general
direction of the body or spotlight to do so with ease.

Now the jeep turns to the left. As it is moving there will be enemies on the
other side of the fence hitting you constantly. You shouldn\'t be in any real
risk of dying although you will come close. If it helps you sleep easier just
start shooting at them, you might kill one or two and make this a bit easier on
yourself.

When the jeep reaches the turn though stop shooting at soldiers and watch the
treeline for spotlights. The minute you see it start shooting at it. You need
to take out these watchtowers before they get a chance to reload their rocket
launchers and since they come in rather quick succession if you don\'t get rid
of them from a distance the second one might kill you while you try to take out
the first. Ignore everything else to take these suckers out. There should be no
more than four of them.

After you take out the fourth tower look to your right. You will see a jeep
right there as you drive by, make sure to blow it up before you pass it or the
enemies there will kill you from behind. Shortly after this the jeep will go to
turn to the right onto the airstrip and a lone gunmen fires at you. Kill him
and turn your attention to your left. A jeep is riding up that way and you will
most likely be unable to hit the front of it so just open fire on it until it
blows up.

Scene change! Finally...

--------------

This area seems really tricky until you realize that you cannot afford to let
the first jeep you see live to reach the end of its loop. If it does so it will
open fire on you and kill you while you are working. Luckily this area is short
and if you die you just start it over so no biggie.

A truck will be coming towards you, shoot it up as much as possible. Once it
moves past you ignore it and look up to your left. Take out that guard tower
and immediately turn to your right to start shooting up the truck. If you fail
to do this then I you could either deal with or scene restart instead. You may
find it easier to turn all the way to the right and shoot up the truck, taking
your chances with the tower but that didn\'t work for me. I was able to get rid
of the tower in enough time to turn to the jeep.

Regardless of how you do this look to your left again for another guard tower.
Blow it up and then it\'s time to focus on the plane. Obviously you can\'t take
it out just by hitting it but that\'s what those wonderful engines are for. Do
not shoot at the props, just shoot at the engines. These can be identified as
the two closest lumps on the plane wings nearest the body.

Start shooting at them until they start to burn, you should see the orange fire
pretty easily on the dark sky. Once one is burning shoot the other and once the
two of them are on fire the plane will not take off.

--------------

Stay on the turret and don\'t get off but do start watching in front of you. Two
jeeps are going to come at you, the first on the left and the second straight
at you. Turn to the left one and use the turret to blow it before turning to
the right and taking that one out as well. One soldier may live though so send
Lynch around near the back of the jeeps to find out.

Once that is done move over to the plane but avoid the cargo bay doors. Slowly
creep from around the cargo bay doors and watch the gap between the plane and
the ramp. You should see the legs of some men as you move, shoot at them until
they are on the floor dead and slowly move around.

The last one is in the cockpit of the plane. Take your pistol in hand and throw
smoke grenades in to distract them and move in slowly. Jenny is the cowering
figure to the left side and the brother is the one on the right. Use your
pistol and pop him in the head twice to take him out.

With him dead your escape route is clear. Now move towards the helicopter to
initiate your decision. You can either escape with Jenny now via helicopter and
have her hate you for doing so or go down into the valley to try and save the
other men. If you leave with Jenny the game ends here but if you go for the men
you have one last level.

*NOTE to 360 players: If you want to get the achievements for both endings but
don\'t feel like playing through this whole stage again right now simply wait
until you get the achievement and then reload the scene. You will only have to
fight through this one little scene over.

Should you wish to keep going then it\'s only a matter of heading down the wood
bridges towards the village.

==============================
Chapter 16 -
==============================
Go backwards a bit on the cliff and head down the plank bridge to reach the
village itself. Run forward a bit and you should see the headlights of a jeep
hanging out around a corner. Move forward until you can see it and then hit it
with a grenade. This should kill the gunner and hopefully the other guy with
him as well.

Send Lynch out ahead and move to the tree, using it as cover. Give out the move
and attack commands alternatingly to find where the enemies are and to kill the
lot of them. Once you see where the enemies are move to the nearby building and
start hitting them from cover. When you clean out this area move to the stone
archway and look out. You should see some enemies off in the distance on the
staircase and to the left along the clifftop.

Well not all of them are enemies, some are grave markers due to that area being
a cemetary but try to find them and hit them. There will also be one to your
left nearby another jeep so send Lynch over there while you try to deal with
the snipers. With that done make Lynch scout out the stairs as you hide behind
the archway to the church.

Keep Jenny close by and keep sending Lynch ahead to clear out the staircase.
When you reach the top look over the top of the stairs towards the graveyard
area to find more enemies. Take them out and head for the church doorway.

--------------

Once the cutscenes end move for the staircase you took to get here. A bunch of
enemies are coming up after you and some have vehicles. Look for a grenade
launcher on the floor. Pick it up and blow up the jeep with it, one shot will
kill the gunner and two will total the vehicle. Now drop the grenade launcher,
get your gun in hand and take cover and start taking out the enemies with Lynch
and Shelly. You may need to order them to positions up here to ensure that they
don\'t run down to the graveyard.

Simply stay here taking out enemies until you are no longer attacked. With that
out of the way, pick up the grenade launcher again and move to the right hand
side of the stairs. You should see a broken area of the balcony that lets you
look down into the village. There is a jeep there, hit it with two grenades to
render it useless. Now look around the area you are standing on for a sniper
rifle. With this in hand the rest of the level is a breeze.

Go back to the spot you were at when you start blowing up the jeep with the
grenade launcher and raise the sniper rifle. Look down at the village and turn
to the left. There are three men there, take them out. Turn towards the bonfire
and look straight ahead from there, one of the men will likely be in that area
fiddling with the jeep if it wasn\'t fully destroyed. Take him out. Now turn to
the left and look near the burning buildings, another guard is there waiting to
be headshot.

Head towards the stairs you used to get up here but don\'t go down just yet. Go
to the left of the stairs and look down near the entrance archway. You should
see two guards left standing there and a third off to their left. They will see
you too so take them out and then shoot the other guy in the heart before he
gets a chance to see you.

Send your squad down to the bottom of the stairs and then to the left. This
should draw out some more soldiers, snipe them if you can or just let your boys
take them out. Move towards the bonfire and order your squad to take the left
path, this should draw out an enemy or two. Let them handle it and head towards
the jeep over here when the enemeis are done for.

Now look to your right, there are enemies beyond that archway. Order Lynch and
Shelly over to it and let them take out the most immediate enemies from cover
before you send them through it totally to play clean up. There are a good
three or four enemies in there but Lynch and Shelly can take them out easy. Now
watch your left side as you approach that arch, there is a good chance that you
missed an enemy over to your left. If so hit him when you see him, if not then
you\'re good to go.

Move through the arch your squad cleared out, move to the right and go through
that arch as well. That\'s it. Follow along the dock to end the game.

No there is no such thing as a good ending in this game, get over it.
