Retro Game Walkthroughs for Grand Theft Auto 3 (PlayStation 2)
Submitted By: Unknown
You are told about these garages and the EV crane on your pager at certain points in the game but you can start depositing vehicles there at any time.

There are 2 import/export garages. One is located in Portland at the Docks. Drive through the main dock gates and go to the end. Turn left and then left again. The garage is on your right in a building with large two toned blue doors. There is a list of the vehicles required on the wall immediately to the left of the door. The list is as follows:

1 Securicar
1 Moonbeam
1 Coach
1 Flatbed
1 Linerunner
1 Trashmaster
1 Patriot
1 Mr. Whoopee
1 Blista
1 Mule
1 Yankee
1 Bobcat
1 Dodo
1 Bus
1 Rumpo
1 Pony

As you deliver each car you get $15,000 and it is ticked off the list.

If you deliver them all you will get:

$200,000.00 and 16 GTA pickups, allowing you to get a vehicle of your choice for free.

Remember that if you need a particular type of vehicle, if you drive a vehicle of the same 'class' - sports car, van, lorry etc. then other vehicles in the same 'class' are much more likely to appear on the streets. Some of the vehicles required will not appear until later in the game when you get access to the other islands.

The vehicles that seem to cause the most problems are:

1. The Mr. Whoopee Ice Cream Truck. If you start the firefighting missions in Portland, then one of the burning vehicles you encounter is an ice cream van. Extinguish the flames and drive it to the garage.

2. The Securicar. When you are on Staunton Island, one of Donald Love's missions (Decoy) has you driving a securicar. After the mission is over drive the securicar to the garage.

3. The Dodo. This is a small aircraft with cut-off wings and it can be found at the airport on Shoreside. Despite many postings about how to fly this plane, your best bet is to drive it back to the garage using the bridges.

The second import/export garage is located in Shoreside. There is no garage in Staunton.

It's in the northeast corner of the section with the Hospital and the Police Station. You can get 'wasted' to get to the Hospital or 'busted' to get to the Police Station or you can check your map and go there, check the list next to the garage and get these cars. The garage will not open for a car that is not on the list or has already been collected.

1 Sentinel
1 Cheetah
1 Banshee
1 Stinger
1 Infernus
1 Esperanto
1 Kuruma
1 Stretch
1 Perennial
1 Landstalker
1 Manana
1 Idaho
1 Stallion
1 Taxi
1 Cabbie
1 BF Injection

Collect them all and you will get:

$200,000.00 and 16 GTA pickups, allowing you to get a vehicle of your choice for free.

The BF injection is a sort of beach buggy that you can fnd next to Misty's apartment block on Portland in the evenings once you have finished the missions for the Mafia on that island.

In Portland docks there is also an EV crane that will accept various emergency vehicles for cash.

Once again go through the main dock gates and along to the end. Turn left and then bear right to see an area of ground marked with diagonal stripes. Park the vehicle in this area and get out so that the crane can pick up the vehicle and load it onto the ship.

There is no list posted of the vehicles required so here they are:

1 Police Car
1 Ambulance
1 Fire Truck
1 Barracks OL
1 FBI Car
1 Enforcer
1 Tank (Rhino)

You will get the following:

$1500.00 per vehicle, as well as a bonus of $200,000.00 for all the vehicles, and seven GTA pick-ups, allowing you to order the vehicle of your choice (out of the emergency vehicles) from the crane.

You will find the police car, ambulance and fire truck at the police station, hospital or fire station on any island.

The barracks OL is at the army surplus base on Staunton island.

Good luck getting an FBI car as you have to have a very high wanted level before they appear!

The enforcer can be found in the police station yard on Staunton island.

The tank only becomes available after you finish the final mission on Shoreside. If you go to the army surplus base after this mission the tank there is unlocked. Otherwise you need to have the highest wanted level to hijack a tank.

On my last walkthrough a large chunk of my extras walkthrough got deleted. So I'm going to post it again. Some of it's in the old version but there are tips on rampages and hidden packages. For some reason they didn't come out on my first walkthrough. I'd prefer it if everything after the words EXTRAS WALKTHROUGH was deleted from the last one. It's better together. Here we go... let me share my knowledge with you once more.

EXTRAS WALKTHROUGH
By Rakuga
-------------------------------------
-------------------------------------

Police Vigilante Missions
-------------------------------
Toggle on by pressing R3 (press right analogue stick). In police vigilante missions you have to take out criminals. If you get so many you get free gifts…

PORTLAND
10 Vigilante Missions = Police Bribe
20 Vigilante Missions = Police Bribe
STAUNTON
10 Vigilante Missions = Police Bribe
20 Vigilante Missions = Police Bribe
SHORESIDE VALE
10 Vigilante Missions = Police Bribe
20 Vigilante Missions = Police Bribe
Tip: Complete “The Exchange” to get a tank making these missions much easier.

Fire-Fighter
--------------
Toggle on by pressing R3 (press right analogue stick). In Fire-fighter you have to put out burning vehicles around the city. If you get so many you get free gifts…

Put out 20 fires on EACH district (Portland, Staunton and Shoreside) to get a flamethrower. (ie. 60 in total)

Ambulance Missions
--------------------------
Toggle on by pressing R3 (press right analogue stick). In ambulance missions you have to pick up injured people and take them to hospital. If you get so many you get free gifts..

Save 50 pedestrians to get a health icons at your hideout.
Save 100 pedestrians to get adrenaline icon
Complete Ambulance Level 12 and you will be able to run without losing your breath.

Taxi Missions
-----------------
Toggle on by pressing R3 (press right analogue stick). In Taxi missions you must pick up people and take them to destinations. Complete 100 taxi missions a Borgnine taxi will appear in Harwood.

Emergency Vehicles Crane
---------------------------------
In Portland Harbour there is a huge boat. In front of it there is a yellow striped area. If you put an emergency vehicle in it (ie. Police Car, Ambulance, Firefighter, Enforcer, Tan, Barracks OL and FBI Car) a magnet will appear above it. Get out and let it be picked up. For each one you will get a cash reward.

Get them all and tokens will appear with names of emergency vehicles above them. Use them like you would do in a shop (walk over them) and that vehicle will be distributed to you.

Car Garage Portland
---------------------------------
In Portland Harbour near the emergency vehicles crane there is a garage with a small list to the left of it which has lots of car names on it. Deliver all the cars on the list to get pickups created inside the garage and money.

The list includes…
Securicar (this is hard to get. Get one from a mission otherwise you will have to pray you get lucky and see one along that long road which leads west from the tunnel in Staunton. Probably the most rare in the game. I still haven’t got one and am waiting for one to appear I feel gutted I didn’t pick one up when I last saw it.)
Moonbeam (usually driving around Portland outside your base)
Coach (Go to coach depot down the road from garage)
Flatbed (Tend to occasionally pass outside the tunnel entrance in Staunton. I found mine while driving in a Barracks OL – I think that might make them appear.)
Linerunner (There’s one in Atlantic Quays just down the road)
Trashmaster (In Staunton outside tunnel entrance)
Patriot (Supasave)
Mr. Whoopee (Either get from a mission like “I scream you scream” or do firetruck missions/vigilante missions till one appears)
Blista (Outside your base in Staunton)
Yankee (Actually in the Harbour next to Emergency Vehicles Crane)
Bobcat (Just outside the harbour!)
Dodo (Airport is sadly the only place)
Bus (Staunton)
Rumpo (Either Staunton or in Wichita Gardens)
Pony (Nearby Harbour)

Car Garage Shoreside
---------------------------------
In Shoreside Vale there is a garage between the two bridges along the Cochrane Dam (take a left at the dusty bridge). Deliver all the cars on the list to get pickups created inside the garage and money. The cars on the list are pretty easy to find. Ones that aren’t so easy are marked with hints.
The list includes…
Sentinel (Airport parking lot)
Cheetah
Banshee
Stinger
Infernus
Esperanto
Kuruma
Stretch (usually in Staunton along that long road which starts at the tunnel goes underneath a tunnel and ends who knows where. Quite rare so nab one when you see it. I got mine in Shoreside it just appeared)
Perennial (there are loads in Staunton/Portland – one outside police station in Portland if all else fails)
Landstalker
Manana (Airport parking lot)
Idaho
Stallion (go near the tunnel and along the road up to the Cochrane Dam there are usually several here/Airport parking lot)
Taxi (If you can’t find this… dear oh dear. It’s yellow and it has taxi above it)
Cabbie (Try around the airport – lots of taxis there)
BF Injection (Only one in game – in Hepburn Heights parking lot can’t miss it looks like a buggy)

Tip: If you wait a while outside the garage a Kuruma, Taxi, Idaho, Manana, Landstalker will drive past – well they did for me.

Rampage Hints
------------------

I can’t remember many of the locations of the rampages. I’ll give you tips for them when you find them however.

Tips: Always get armoured up before battle and make sure you have full health. This makes rampages easier.

Shotgun rampages:
Find them: 1) Jump off bridge near base Shoreside Vale on to roof. 2) Trenton in alleyway opposite Supa Save
Tips: Try and get in narrow corridors or places where there is only one entrance and fire away.

Uzi shooting rampages:
Find them: In Chinatown by a big red building down an alley. Go along the road outside your hideout.
Tips: Get in a car and do drive by shootings as these will count. I suggest going slightly slowly so people begin chase of your car. Keep this process till you get a big gathering around your car then fire away.

Uzi blow up cars rampages:
Find them: ?
Tips: Trap cars and shoot them. If you are lucky they will burn and set other cars alight. I got 4 cars in one car explosion – all of which counted.

Drive by Uzi rampages:
Find them: ?
Tips: Drive at all times try not to stop. Fire away continuously.

Grenade rampages (cars):
Find them: ?
Tips: Create roadblocks and throw grenades at the stationary cars. Try and get at high ground so people cannot beat you up.

Grenade rampages (people):
Find them: go left from Staunton base and go left again. Then go into the area on the right and there is one around the back
Tips: These are hard. The tip is to run and get people chasing after you. Throw grenades in front of you and run over them. As the guys chase you they blow themselves up. Get armour created at your base with hidden packages and top up your armour when it’s really bad. Also drive around in cars to round up some people to kill.

M16 rampages:
Find them: Opposite Luigis Club in Red Light District behind a building where there is also steps upstairs
Tips: Fire like crazy. Check all of your sides as they come from everywhere.

Rocket Launcher rampages:
Find them: 1) In front of Hepburn Heights where you delivered girls for the Police Ball mission. 2) Staunton Church in graveyard
Tips: Try and get a good vantage point preferably above ground as you will get abuse from pedestrians when you start blowing stuff up with loads of them wanting to throw punches at you. Before starting a rampage park several cars nearby so you can get some easy hits. Go for parked cars rather than moving cars as they are easier to hit.

Running people over Rampages:
Find them: 1) In front of the airport go up and it’s behind a billboard. [Moves to straight on from the hospital in Shoreside within the trees between it and the airport]
Tips: Sounds easy. Isn’t when you have to run over Columbians with AK47s. Either make sure you can switch cars quickly and get to them easily and just drive down the pavement. A good tip is to complete the game and use a tank which is invincible to gunfire making the mission so much more easier.

Sniper Rampages:
Find them: ?
Tips: Take time to target people correctly – if you rush you make mistakes. But then again try and go not too slow.

Hidden Packages
--------------------

Get 20 Hidden Packages to get a Uzi created at your base
