Retro Game Walkthroughs for Banjo Tooie (Nintendo 64)
Submitted By: Minjo
Okay, I've just gone on a Banjo Kazooie/Banjo-Tooie craze. I know how distortedly hard it is to find a good walkthrough for any game, so I hope this works out well for you (and me when I need to recall what the deuce I'm supposed to do). I'm in Canada, so if the UK Banjo-Tooie is a bit different and my information is off, Email me ([email protected]) and correct my information. Make sure the subject line on the Email is "Banjo-Tooie Correction" so I don't take it for junk mail and delete it. Now, on with the walkthrough!

Game Paks:

All in all, there are five game paks located within the game. These are easy to find, as they are all located within the area of Spiral Mountain (where Banjo and Kazooie's home is) and in the Jinjo Village. They enable special abilities that become quite handy when playing.

1. The game pak that's really going to make the game interesting is the one located in the sandy area of Jinjo Village (just to the right of where Banjo and Kazooie end up when the game has started). Off to the left, on the wall, there is a ledge. Grip-grab it until you've reached the platform and press 'a'. Walk into the ice-like dome and shoot the game pak with an egg, or physically attack it. It will dissapear and, in place, there will be a key. Just run into it, and it will be stored with your other items. Now, this game pak will eventually enable Kazooie to be a 'dragon' (honestly, I think it makes her a small pterodactyl, but that's just a matter of opinion). However, you're going to need to be in Glitter Gulch Mine to get what you're looking for. When in the mine, at the very start there are two Rareware boxes; smash them open and grab the one with the Turbo Trainers (sneakers). Run over straight ahead (towards Wumba's Wigwam) and step on the switch. It will open a gate at the end. With the runners on, you can run on water, so run like hell across the stream after activating the switch to reach the gate. Once you've entered, fall off the waterfall and into the pool beneath. Dive under the water by pressing 'b', and within there is a rock with a picture of Kazooie on it. Press 'z', and she'll detach from Banjo's back for a period of time. Ram her into the rock, and it will dissapear. Swim into the entrance now: it will take you to another ice-like room with a large key-shaped hole in the wall. Walk up to this and the ice key will open up the chest. Hurrah, you've found the Mega Glowbo to activate Wumba's Wigwam (which is located outside of Gruntyworld). Don't worry about Kazooie being a dragon/pterodactyl; she has all the same moves as the other Kazooie (except she can blow fire, which works well throughout the game), and she won't change back unless you enter the Wigwam again.

2. That was long. Now, the easier game paks. Go to Spiral Mountain (again, where Banjo and Kazooie's mutilated home is) and get onto the, well, spiral mountain in the middle of the area. (Have Banjo's back facing the big witch head.) Step onto the flight pad and take to the air; a little ways forward is a metal gate covering an opening, and inside is your game pak. With a well-aimed grenade egg, smash it open and fly in. Hit the game pak and retrieve the egg left behind.

(NOTE: If you've somehow managed to get all the game paks on your own, and don't know what to do with them, go to the Wooded Hollow. To your right there's a somewhat hidden opening in the trees - go through that. There will be a large egg with a crack in the bottom, so walk through the crack and there will be Heggy the hen. She'll hatch your egg(s) and from them you'll recieve tricks that are quite helpful. As a note, there is one egg there that Kazooie will have to hatch on her own (hence the split-up pads within the egg). She cannot hatch them until she has learned the move from Jamjars in Terrydactyl Land. I'll explain where to go later on in the game.)

[Whoever's reviewing this, I have to go to class. Could this be saved so I can edit and finish it later? Thanks!]
