RATCHET AND CLANK BOSS GUIDE

THE ALIEN QUEEN

This giant lizard thing will advance on you. As long as you just keep firing away at her with the Blaster, the first phase should end just as she is about to bite you. If not, side-flip, run to a new angle, and try again.

In the second phase, she summons a large array of Mutant Frogs to attack you. Use the Glove of Doom a few times, but suck five up in your Suck Cannon, to fire at the Queen. Once they are all dead, she will go back to her pattern from the first phase. End it.

In the final phase, she will summon two smaller versions of herself which are known to us as Mutant Lizards. Finish them ASAP as they advance on you, then finish off the Queen. Job done.

One final note about the Queen - sometimes when she is on her own with no other enemies in the arena, she will strafe around. Use the opportunity to attack her, but be prepared because she could start coming for you again at any time, so remain a safe distance away from her, using the size of the arena to your advantage.

THE SNAGGLEBEAST

The Snagglebeast will fire shockwaves - you can use the Glove of Doom after the fourth one. When he stops stomping, he'll either shoot fireballs from his hands, or fire a laser beam which sets the floor on fire briefly.

The Blaster is the best Weapon here. When the Boss loses a full section of his health, he'll put up a force-field. Make him chase you over a bridge, and he'll fall in the lava, draining another section of his health. Repeat this whole process.

In the final round, he has a new attack - he uses a vaccum attack, similar to the Suck Cannon. This takes your ammo and scatters it everywhere - very annoying! When he falls into the lava for the third time, he dies.

CAPTAIN QWARK

Avoid Qwark's shots when he comes up from below the runway. Shoot the targeted areas. I recommend saving the Missiles for later.

When you've taken off two sections of the Captain's health, he'll turn around and use a tractor beam, before firing seven missiles which must be blown up. However, he takes loads of damage if you attack him when he's using the tractor beam - but only use two or three Missiles.

When you take off another section of Qwark's health, he surrounds his ship with a force-field, and summons numerous Defence Ships. Avoid their shots (they're weak, but it all adds up), and Qwark will drop his shield when they're all gone.

There are now Mines everywhere, and his Missiles are more random in which tube they come from. Keep atttacking (feel free to use Missiles now), and eventually, Captain Qwark will be down. And yes, I agree with you Qwark, I think we have passed the test!

CHAIRMAN DREK

The first round of the battle sees Giant Clank taking on Drek's Mech. Very easy. Fight however you want here, and watch the cut-scene after taking off a section of Drek's health.

Stock up on ammo at the Gadgetron Vendor. Now, use the SwingShot to quickly get across the platforms over the chasm. Drek will start firing when you reach the other side. He has three attacks. One is a fire wave which must be jumped, another is a barrage of rockets (avoid the crosshairs), and the other one is when he fires off LOADS of homing mines. The fire wave can destroy them. Keep firing until Drek blasts the rock, then flees again. Chase him again.

Keep attacking. Grab any Nanotech and ammo when needed. When Drek flees again, follow him. Be careful - the final platform is a trick and falls as you touch the one before it. Swing to the Deplanetizer in front of you.

After a scene, the game will equip the Thruster-Pack if it's not equipped already. You have thirty seconds to stomp (jump and press R1) on the button. After that, Drek will chase you. Jump onto the grind-rails on the perimeter of the arena, and stay on them until Drek stops chasing you. Keep attacking until he re-activates the countdown - but watch out for the little robots! The fire wave will kill them, though.

Keep it up for a further two rounds. Each time, the countdown becomes shorter and shorter.

When Drek has only one section of health left, missiles will start flying around. They don't strike very often, but keep moving just in case. Keep attacking the now extremely enraged Drek, who will be attacking like there's no tomorrow (watch out for those blue energy balls!), until he's finished. I won't spoil the cut-scene!

Okay, so Drek's dead, but it's not over yet! Two of the "arms" of the arena have buttons which you can stomp on. Stomp on one of them, and you're done!
