Go up the ladder and head right. Jump down to the two pipes, then to the main pipe at the dead end. Jump to the ledge and shimmy across. Now drop onto the main pipe, go under the wall and right, use the zip line. Duck under the pipe and go up the pole. Get into the main pipe and crawl to the rig. Climb up the ladder, head right, jump to the steel beam and follow it to the platform where the technician was. Hang off the edge and shimmy to the other side. Climb over the railing. Run up the steps and shoot the guard. Continue up, avoid the guard and then hide behind the wall. Shoot the soldier and go left, then right. Let the two guards pass, use the water pressure system to attract the guards and then kill them. Hide at the complex entrance and wait for the technician to pass. Now go left and grab the medi-kit. Head out of the complex and save. Roll left to avoid the fire., jump onto the machine and use the pipe to enter the building. Kill the guy left behind, grab the goodies and go up to the stairs. Follow the technician down and stop on the middle platform. Shoot the soldier and go through the door. Go right, pick the lock quickly and go through the next hall. With the launch date of ‘Splinter Cell: Pandora tomorrow’ approaching faster than Rik Waller to a buffet, and the original PS2 title now a platinum, its no surprise everyone is replaying to catch up on the story, but also, people are playing through for a first time, and so, to help you with the games style of play, I’ve written the following…

Shadows: - You may have guessed it, since it’s a stealth genre of game, that being hidden is a large element of the gameplay, and shadows is the best way of becoming “invisible”. At the bottom right of your screen is a visibility bar, it looks a little bit like a time scale, at one end is light, the other is dark. When the indicator is in the quarter of dark, you are practically invisible, so in other words, don’t panic and run, you’ll be ok. When crouched you are less visible. If you stay still, in very dark areas, they’d have to walk into you before they spot you, you just wait patiently and ambush them. A lot of this game is about patience and bottle, if you’ve got the bottle to stay still, you’ll more than likely come out on top. Always keep your eyes on the visibility bar, as you never know when you might need to retreat to a safe location. Always check surroundings for light switches and lights you can shoot out, there’s nothing stopping you from making your own shaded areas!

Gunpoint: - No man could conquer the world of terrorism without weapons; so mastering the use of them is essential. Rather than just pointing and shooting, your gun can be used for other nifty tricks. Getting used to taking hostages should be established as soon as possible. All you need to do is sneak up behind a target and when the “grab” button appears, press ‘X’. Now you’ve got them at gunpoint, move into the shadows for safety. You can now either “interrogate” them for information, this might be essential to progress in the story, or incapacitate them, making you safe. If you grab a general (wearing a red hat) think before you knock him out, you might need him to pass a retina scanner. Finnaly, people will heitate you shoot if your holding their friend, so use human shields in crowded areas.

Weapon add-ons: -
Once you obtain the machine gun, it comes with a lot of extra toys. The obvious single and rapid fire, but also a bottom mounted “launcher” for propelling those gadgets. If you can hear a guard downstairs, but cant see him, never fear, simple launch a “spy-cam”, once it reaches its target, you can look around to check the coast is clear before making your move, but make sure you pick it back up again, its recyclable! Next is a toy similar to the previous, except now you can press “O” to attract the enemy, and “Square” to release an gas capable of rendering multiple enemies unconscious, but I recommend saving that for dire emergencies. The sticky shocker and ring airfoil bullets are both non-lethal types of bullet, so aim at those guards your not allowed to kill for a quick, effective way through.
Goggles: -
You goggles can be your saviour at times. Firstly the night vision, useful for seeing well in the dark, and also for spotting distant enemies without loosing sight of your surroundings. Secondly, the thermals. The thermals will allow you to spot enemies in cloudy areas, and bright areas, but also have some hidden talents. You can spot lasers, landmines and bombs with these on your face, so always keep this in mine. Also, if a guard has recently used a key pad, you can use these to identify heat signatures helping you open the doors!
Other bits: -
There are some useful items that may not look it throughout the game, such as coke cans, if thrown they will attract attention. The main thing to notice is the 5 human senses; this game has very intelligent A.I. so think realistically when trying to distract enemies.

I hope this has helped you understand the style of gameplay required, and I hope it’s given you some new ideas for those situations! Thanks for reading.
