Retro Game Walkthroughs for Ninja Gaiden (Xbox)
Submitted By: Cycloon
Ninja Gaiden. Sweet jesus. Amazing game. Shame about the little fact that it's also insanely hard. Ho-hum.

GENERAL INFO;

- Upgrade your sword.

- 'L' button = best frend. Blocking and rolling is the ONLY way of winning 95% of the fights in the game. If you don't, you might as well quit now.

- When figthing large groups of enemies, don't go for one. The game is so perfectly hard and balanced that it's not the usual hack/slash/kill and repeat. You have to move and attack ANY enemy when you get the chance.

- DO NOT push it. After about Chp.1 (!) when facing Ninjas, you should not push your luck and go all out on a ninja/enemy - you will get hurt and that is not good considering the difficulty of the game. Attack 2/3 times, then roll out and block, roll, wall jump, whatever - just get out of the way, judge, then go back for a quick hammer. If you are fighting normal soldiers, do not worry so much, but with later Ninjas, it's essential, or horsemen or whatever.

- Use ranged weaponry to either snipe (eg. bow) or to slow down an enemy. X attacks should be your common force, combined with jumps and wall runs etc. Y attacks are powerful, but leave you open - but they are excellent to clear a group if they are close enough - and the run + Y flying kicks are excellent to knock people out the way, as is the flying throw (Jump + forwards + over enemy's head + Y). Etc. You'll learn soon enough.

- Exploration is a tricky game. In earlier levels, explore like mad - for instance, the first level contains a Life of the Gods and other such vital artifacts. In later levels, like the Imperial city, exploration can trigger nasty fights. Be careful.

- Ryu is a kickass Ninja. But you will not know enough until you've played the game a lot to really show off. His moves are incredible, but be careful. If you wish to win, sometimes you must not show off and use super spirit attacks (Hold Y) all the time etc - you might just as well sheath your Dragon Sword and offer your neck.

------------------

Chapter 1 - Way of the Ninja

Run forwards, left and jump up the small stone ledges. Jump over the hole, and look at the dart for info. Use this to run/jump/climb up the ledge, sidle along and haul yourself up. Open the chest and limb the left ledge. Run up the tree and prepare to kick two brown ninjas in. Easy. Jump over the next hole, open the chest, and use the tree to swing over. Wall/Bird jump up the next section, kill the ninjas, and go up again, using multiple jumps.

Now, into the fortress. Kill the ninjas, and run up the stairs. The next two rooms are filled with born ninjas, the second is locked until you clear it. Go through, and see the statue - grab the elixirs too (2). Run through the rooms to find white ninjas - tougher beasties and they require more thought. Simply kill and dodge through the small holes in the walls (slash their coverings) - you will eventually fall into an underground pit. Kill the bats, smash the pots and find the Samurai's talisman in a chest. Run out and jump up, back onto a walkway. Kill the ninjas, and go back inside. Once inside, go back to the Samurai. Give him his talisman, and take the key. Now go past the trapdoor you fell through and kill the ninjas. Save, and go out the door onto a long walkway. Kill them ninjas and use the key to find Murai.

For a first boss, he's tricky to an extent. Do not go toe-to-toe. Instead, use run+X to slash him, and roll/block like you should always be doing. If your blades become caught and you see the two struggling, hammer X or Y to gain and advantage and you can slash him a little more. Use wall attacks as well (these are vital later to stay out of trouble and cause damage). Simply, don't show off - it's only level 1.

Chapter 2 - Hayabusa Ninja Village

Cheeky sods. Anyway. Talk to Murai to learn some stuff, then go all the way back to the start of the level, but go under the rock arch and into a lift (grab the ninpo scroll too). Go down, and kill the samurais. You need to work your way through these ravines to the village - kill the Samurai mages first, as they will annoy you a lot. Look for the map of the village in a tree, and jump accross the ruined bridge. Look for an alcove and then run accross the water - to get another life of the gods! Yay! Save and go into the village. There are several guards here, kill them, and then go around the back of the burning buildings. Fight your way through, and go back. Jump up onto the large house in the centre of the street, and through the opening. In here, grab the bow and buy whatever you wish, and then jump outside. Kill the samurai, then joy of joys, you have to fight 4 horsemen. Be careful. Attack from behind (don't bother with your new bow). Attack from behind, keeping attacks quick and light. Once the horse is finished, the men will fall off and attack - get rid of them before you fight the next horse. If you get skewered, you'll be dragged and suffer much damage. Not good. And then, go on through the wreckage.....

To another horseman, but this time a boss. He has mages. Damn. If youc wish, kill them until they stop respawning. This takes a while, and can be very draining - just watch those fireballs (they are unstoppable). Or, (or after the mages are dead), go for the horse. Arrows and Ninpo are useful, ninpo more so, and again, rear X attacks are useful. This guy will try to spear you like the others - he's pretty similar in many respects. Run+X is useful again. Ninpo can make you invincible for a time, and damage him, so use it to get close and deal the fatal blows. Pick up the scroll (excellent technique) and then watch the gorgeous cut scene.

Chapter 3 - Skies of Vengeance

Go out the door, and explore all the rooms. You need every last item you can get in this game. You will find Vigoorian officers/soldiers - the mainstay of the next chapters. They fire guns (block) and if you get too close, will try to slit your throat. Just go for them - they're not as effective as ninjas. Don't stop though, and don't let them grab you. Run through to find a room with two staircases. Run down the left to find a Murasma shop - buy the sword upgrade if possible, and anything else you want. Go back upstairs and through the door that's on the right of the large locked door and Go right and fight the men in the crew quarters. Go left and into another lot of corridors. Explore, and go down the lift in a room you will find (and a not about the power supply). Fight the men on the Bridge, and take the ID Card. All the way back to the start, and through the previously locked door. Jump over the crates to nabble some very useful items, and go back down the stairs to the save point (opposite Murasma's staircase) and go left. Wind the winch, and kill the enemies that interrupt you. Then, finish the winch so the door is down, and step outside. WAIT, and some guards will appear on the far side. Use the bow to kill them, then cross the gap using the cable (if you don't they'll kill you). Go around the room to find a box, and go inside and smash the power up - a small cut-scene will ensue.

Go back, and to the captains quarters (where you found the lift and the note about the power). Go onwards to the now open door, and fight your away through to a ladder. Here, you will see if you climb up, it's locked. Instead, wall jump up the narrow space into a side passage, where the lock is. Unlock it, and climb up to the next boss.

This guy is easy. Dodging his gun is the main worry, and it's not tricky. Use run and slash techniques, and if you have an upgraded sword, use Jump+Forwards+Y to deal the damage. You can be slightly more reckless here, but not much - just go for him, fast and use hit and run.

Chapter 4 - Imperial City Infiltration

Save, jump down, and kick the daylights out of the soldiers. Run into town, and look for a chest behind a fence. Follow the path (only one way) to a large square - examine the body for the Gulliotine throw, a personal favourite (run, jump over enemy, Y). Tip; kill the grenade launcher troops first, then the others. Now, go throgh the door, and explore - down an alley is a stone tablet part. Go down stairs, snipe the enemy troops with the bow, and use the wire to get a Lives of the Thousand Gods. Jump down, and go right. Go left to grab the Nunchackus, and go right, to Murasmas sho (if you so wish, go up those small stairs - to fight 3 black ninjas, the evil beggars they be at this point of the game - swift/Dragon sword only/block their darts if they hit you. Get a Spirit of the Devils). Use the shop if needs be, and go through the green orb door. Kill the black ninjas here, and go right, and right again into a small alley - bird jump up and into the caged room on the right. Kill more ninjas and open the chest to get a lot of cash. Go back to the square, and go up the left hand stairs. Wall jump up the alley and run along to flick a switch, and open the door. Go in, approach the bar, and learn of a certain ticket. Save, and go to the alley opposite the bar. Read the 'legendary weapon' scroll, and then wall run/jump upwards. It's tricky. Jump at the first wall high and diagonally, then jump and jump again! Grab the Windmill shruiken, and use the machine to replenlish health and ki. Go to Murasma, buy anything, and get a ticket. Go to the bar...now is it me, or does she have some large busms?

Chapter 5 - City Of Fiends

Open the chests, and then go down the stairs. Kill the men and run out, back to where you sniped the men in chapter 4 (them on the balconies?). Run down the small yellow door - the Lily door, and wall run/jump onto the balcony. Grab the chest contents, then run down, right (dodge/kill the ninjas), and follow the path to a save point. Go right, up the stairs, left from the courtyard, and on your left will be a chest (someway down the alley) - open to the get the Pegsaus key. Now, go back to the dungeon-esque halls just before the save and use the key. Pull the switch, run to the drawbridge, and through. Explore and save. Now run. Run right from the save, right down to the courtyard, left (look down the left hand alley for health), and follow the path. You can avoid all the ninjas here by running. The first set you can outrun to the courtyard. The second, run in until they appear, then back out to the same yard. Third set, outrun to the mini-bosses.

These fiends are easy. If you're quick. Run to a wall, jump, run up it and jump again and then Y. Repeat, over and over. You need to jump off the fiends (just double jump as it were). Be quick, else you'll get a tearing. Then fight the tentacle boss. Jump and Y at his tentacles, then slash his body. He's pretty easy, but watch for the tentacles, they are annoying when they whip round.

Chapter 6 - The Monastery

Go up, picking up all the stuff. The guys you meet in the courtyard are weak but keep on coming. Go into the monastery, and meet some yellow Fiends. JOY! The dudes who teleport about are tricky beggars too - get rid of them first, then concentrate on the fiends. Go the only way you can, and go through the hall. Kill the enemies - pick up anything (books etc). You need to reach the highest floor here. (NOTE: In the Archive are Incendiary Shruiken. Grab). Wall jump up, then use an incendiary shruiken on the cracked wall, then jump through. Kill the fiends and go to the balcony. Go through the Monk's room and pick up the Deity of Sentiment off the plinth, and read the diary on the desk. Now, turn the safe lock left to 2 (press X), and tjem right to 7, right to 1, left to 2. Pick uip the book of Eons, and then fight the beggars off (again.....). Go to the Altar Hall, and pop the book on the Altar, and go into the new entrance. Pick up the map and enter the Corridor of DOOOOOM! When you see a cracked wall, blow it up and run like hell. Save after you escape. Kill the bats and descend carefully - falling is fatal. Go through the gate and kill the mangled up wasps. There is a Life of The Gods near here, and a Scarab. Go down the path and through the halls and press the switch in a room you'll find (Jump + Y). Go down, killing the enemies. Pick up the flail at the bottom. In the Ritual Room, kill all the bugs and meet the Zombies. yayu. Pick up the chalice and kill the zombies. These guys are slow and strong, so combos are easy, but watch your health and back, as ever. Kill the archers first however, and go the way you came. You need to get back to the fossil area. Put the chalice on the altar.

This guy is nasty. To kill the Skeleton Dino, you need to attack his feet first. He will fire bones, lunge and stamp his feet - be quick, swift and careful - block an attack and slash his tootsies a few times before dashing out and dodging. He also attacks with his tail (what beast with a tail in a game DOESN'T?), so jump over this *twice*. Once he's dead, do not die, unless you want to kill him again.....go to the room with the chains and go downwards....

Chapter 7 - Hidden Underground

Drop down the big hole and fight the archers at the bottom (through the door). Try to imrpove your sword at the Murasma statue, and restock. Save and head on. The bridge will 'reject' you - to avoid, fall off the ledge instead of going across the bridge. Head into and clear the Blue/Red Eye chambers (Tough - Red - you need to press the eye at the end, all the while dodging archers and pendulums of DOOOM! So, use your bow back at them. Blue room - same again, be VERY careful when dodging the pendulums - you need to clear the last as fast as possible..Once you press the blue eye, shoot the panel to your right - shoot the panels above the pendulums to slow them down - you'll need to wall run and jump to reach the button - and head through the door.............), and beat another Tentacle fiend. You can then run across the bridge without fear of mangling etc.

Pick up the stuff and wall jump upwards. Pick the item off the chair and save. Kill the archers and pick up a new ninpo off a dead Ninja. Useful for confined spaces, like where you are now. Go onto the Chamber of Everlasting Sleep and solve a puzzle. At the bottom, you will make the sarcophagus rise. Stand on a switch to drop it, and without dropping back down, go around to the other balcony and wall run over the other platofrm. The sarcophagus will stat - so you can pick and all the stuff below - such as the Skull Key. Swim away.......before you go up the lift, swim the Great Corridor to a save point. Go up to the Archive, and to the Altar...

Alma is hard. She uses patterns - pillars, fireballs etc. Pillars you can avoid by rolling and jumping. Fireballs can be dodged - run away from them. She also dives at you - jump over/roll around/away etc. She often uses this, so it gets easy to anticipate. She also uses a similar diving attack, which you can avoid and use fire Ninpo or a Flying Swallow to hurt her. Your first attack usually stuns, then you can get a FEW hits in before having to retreat. She also uses a major attack - when she hovers, don't keep close. She will scream if you do - run and roll like hell away! She will throw you up and slam you down - and it hurts a lot. So don't keep to close too much. Try and hit her when airborne with the Flying Swallow - just be patient. It will take a while, but stay calm and dodge/wait/attack/flee will work. You can always fight the monsters in the next room for some blue essence if you really need it. When Alma is on her legs, she can do all the same stuff, so be warned.

Chapter 8

Go back to the monastary and look into the Archive for healing stuff, and go back to the Alma battleground. Grab the War Hammer Rachel dropped, but I'd keep the sword out, as it's just better. NOW go aaalllll the way back to the Military Gate in the Twin Serpents Plaza. Haha. Lots of Vigoor soldiers, who of course, don't like flails or shapr swords, so take it to them. Be careful, they are better than before - a bayonet and faster guns etc, so be warned. Lots of them, but they're nothing to your ninja skills. You will have to lower the bridge. The two APCs can be stifled with arrows (on their guns) and that RPG soldier needs a good kicking. Get on the back of aone of the APCs and stand up the ramp and kick some soldier butt.

Go to the Skull door and buy some health and stuff, then run up the wall, jump and enter a new building. Change your bow for the strongbow, and you'll get more types of arrows available. Go to the military gate and snipe the gunners. Now face the helicopper. Block his machine gun fire and didge until he buggers off. Which he will, trust me. Go back to where you got the Strongbow and aim through the window and shoot some to hit the switch. Then go through the gate......

Chapter 9

Save and follow the path. Kill the men and APCs. Go into the warehouse and pick up the stuff. Go hit the switch and everything comes to life. Use windmill shruiken to kill the little helicopters, kill them until they don't come back. Go down to the first level and flick the swtich nearest the shutters. Go back up and across, up the stairs and into a room. Get the card, and go out to the shutters. Go into one of the warehouses and save and then kill the men, get you bow out and watch.

Two tanks. One after the other. Shoot an explosive arrow at the gunner to make him hide, then fire core arrows at the tank. Dodge the gun and the tracks, and this is a doddle - just never stop moving. Go back and save! And meet the chopper again.....

Similar tactics really. His missiles don't home and you can block his gun. Fire arrows at every available oppurtunity - core arrows being best. Keep on moving again!

Go on and note the RPG men - ignore them but dodge their shells. They will always respawn, so don't kill them. Waste of time and health. Shoot all the radar dishes with arrows and the doors will open. Enter and wall run and dodge the small helicopters. Kill the RPG men here and get a key. Run on until you reach the door for the key. Go back to the Turntable and kill ALL BUT ONE of the men, so they don't ALL respawn. Just dodge the last mans' fire and hit all the dishes on the tower.

Chapter 10

Pick up the item and enter the gate. Wait until the manhole cover opens and kill the purple fiends. Quick and sly, be very careful. Go down and save and check the Ninja's body for the map. North from here is a door - go through the brown door and fight more wolverines. Note the insect door. You can buy items at the Bluw Water Resevoir on the map. Go back to Aquaduct B2 and go down to Aqauduct B1. Fight more wolverines (they won't respawn!). Now go on. You need to go north (Hall of Balance), left (Underground Waterway) and down (Red Water), and to the right, an unamed room. Go north first and save and open the chest. Go into the doors and run left, wall run and cling on and sidle over, and get the Insect Key. Go to the unamed (this is optional by the way) room and open the chest. Seemingly harmless slugs will appear - use the war hammer and ice ninpo. These beggars are actually quite dangerous, so don't be too confident. Wall/Jump/Y/X are good moves, if a little vulnerable at times. Go to the insect door and use the key.

Now you have Eels to kill. You need to time your attacks well. They try to grab you, and this really hurts, an awful awful lot. Don't go in the water if possible, as they can electrify it, and easily grab you. Jump at walls to avoid their swipes. Flying swallow moves and shruiken/arrows work best against them. Ninpo is useless. Just keep it up, and like most bosses, time those attacks, or else you'll fall.

Pick up the new ninpo and go through the corridor - above the Hall of Balance. In the hallway outside you'll find wolverines, where you can get unlimited money, as long as you don't die! In the Hall of Balance, pick up the Red Tablet and go to the Red Resevoir, and pop it in the stand. Go to B2 and pick up the statue in the alternate Red Resovoir room. Go to B3 and place it on the door with the Earth statue. Two eels to fight. YAY. Same tactics - VERY QUICK, VERY AGILE, just be careful. Go to the Blue Resevoir room. Pop the item in place and jump through the door. Go to the Hall of Balance and through the now unlocked door. Wall jump back and forth until you drop and hit the switch. Go and save and then before you enter the Underground Sanctuary, there is a box in the top left of the room where you get attacked by bats. Life of the Gods. Enter the sanctuary. Go left from the ceremonial sword plinth, and wall jump up this room. Once up use the bow to hit the switch and actave the panel. Run across to the other side and reach the sword. Go back and save again, because you'll have a boss when you put the sword in....

Stick close to the Guardian. His laser attack is easy to predict (you can sense it well before it hits). He also stomps and bites at you - if you are too close to him. He swipes with his claws if you are close again - hard to avoid! Try to stay behind him and kick the crap out of him - occassionally he will drop down in apparant exhaustion - slash his head double quick.

Chapter 11

The obligatory aqua level. Go right and pick up the map and save. Go under the hole in the gate to get the gold medallion and get out by going through a hole in the left hand wall. The ninja corpse has a code here - 0971. Go up to another ninaj corpse and grab the Owl's Eye, then enter the combination. Keep swimming, go up for air every now and then. Get the spear gun off another ninja - now you can fight under water properly! Save point in a cave. Open the chests and note the mysteriously shut door. go towards the Sunken Ship - watch the cutscene for hints.

Meet more helicopters, the mini variety. They are dangerous, two hits from your speargun kills them, and be careful. Go into the hole in the ship to get the hand crank, and swim back out and use it to pulley up. Go under and open the door in the cutscene, and swim up and pick up the oxygen canister. Go through the hole in the gate and keep swimming forwards and go through. Open the chest for the silver medallion and go to the Island in the moat. Put the two medallions in the wall slots and that 'mysterious' door will open. Kill the enemies and jump into the rift with the bubbles. Now, naviagte the now flooded halls to the lift to Zarkhan - in the same area where the elevator is that took you to the monastery. When you meet the black ninjas, search the ruins of the desk for the Monk's notebook -1223 is the combination for the safe for Jewel of the Demon Seal. Follow the map.......

To meet Doku. He is powerful, and you NEED healing items. He is vulenrable AFTER attacking, so attack then. You can block most of his attacks. He throws his sword at you (jump over it) . He slashes and multiple-slashes (run away and smack him up after he does it). He tries to grab you, which if successful, HURTS. He also tries to fry you with his breath, and slams his sword for a shockwave, which you can jump. Just attack after his attacks, dart in and out. He takes a lot of damage, so keep the tempo up but be cautious.

Chapter 12

Hard, to say the least. Stockup on healing items. Pick up Doku's weapon. Watch the platforms around the edge of the room. This is a puzzle. Go ahead to where Rachel was being kept captive, and pull the switch to the right. Go back outside and left and jump on the lowest platform on the left and hit the switch. Then go right, jump on the lowest platform, and hit the switch and wall run from this platform to the next. Hit the switch here and then jump to the next, and hit ANOTHER switch. Watch this platform and see where it moves and go back to the platform you were on before and hit the switch again. Jump down to the very first platform on the right. Get on the platfrom near the ledge and you will wall runin the direction you came- you can get up to the platform near the top - wall run and jump up. Go onwards.....

The door to the palace is locked.

If you want, go to Tairon and talk to Murasma (a bit risky as the soldiers are even more dangerous as before). Near the Great Bridge Area is a portal to the Fiend World.

Head to the Caverns and pick up the items and run/swim across the water. Go to the hole in the cave- you won't be able to come back out once you slide down......

Go down and fight off the wolverines and Dragon Fiends - these are harder than before. The Dabilharo loves them though - just keep smacking one to bits, then move onto another. Run up the wall, backflip onto the ledge and enter the next area. Jump across the broken floor and save. Look at the pentagon symbol, and drop down. Fight the baddies and look for the Ruins. Pick up what you need and and pop the pentagon in. Enter the magma caverns. Pick up the stone tablet, iron ore and kill the dragons. Avoid the lava (obviously) and go on until you reach an area with steam coming out the walls. Go to the cliff (find the iron ore) overlooking the lava and run up the wall and grab the ledge. Wait for the steam to blow tice then go across. Go left and fight the dragon fiends. Use ninpo and blocks a lot. Enter the next room to be at the bottom of a cliff. RIght, bertical attack the switch and jump on the platform. Buy items at Murasma's shop and run along. Kill the dragon-fiends and run up the wall into a room with the see-saw structure. Explore the area and find more iron ore. Go north, put 4 pieces of iron ore in the cauldron. The heat melts the stalactites in the Ice Cavern. Go all the way back (save) and go into the very large room..

Big Eel. Yayu. Get behind it and slash way, dodgin it when it turns. Roll about to dodge the ice that pops up, and slash always behind it. Pick up the eye and head through the door. Now back in the Ice Cavern, PICK up the Cog in the Ruins, if you haven't already and go to the Magma Caverns again. Put the cog on the door and enter the Path of Flame. Easy, just clear it. Enter the pool of lava room...

Similar strategy again. It has fire rather than ice. Jump straight up to dodge it's fire breathing.

Take the eye. In the next room, hit the switch and run across quickly before the flames rise again.....like Link in the Fire Temple. Ahhhhh........ anyway. Get on the poles (wall run and jump is best) and escape. Go to the big door in the Magma Lake with the face. Pop the two eyes in and enter the Hall of the Flame Dragon. Guess what. Take the Devil, Deity of Immortality and meet the owner of the room, te eponymous villain....

You'll probably be beaten up already. Fun. He lunges, fires fireballs (surprise surprise)
which hurt MORE if you block. So roll away. He fires hot air - block this!! Roll forwards as the flames neaer you and you'll escape with no damage! He breathes fire also, which is eeasy to avoid by running. He DOES repeat attacks, so be very quick with slashes/attacks. Damage him when he rests his head. If you can get up onto level 2 he rests his head there more, meaning some tasy slashes are easier.

Pick up the LOTG and enter the door.

Chapter 13

Save and enter the room proper. Wall run and jump up. Go back to Twin Serpent Plaza, put in the three stone tablets.....and go back to Hayabusa Village. Once in the graveyard, get the True Dragon Sword - THAT'S why the graveyard did nothing when you were first here. Go on and take the teleporter until you reach an entirely new area - a large field. Run towards the pyramid. Easy boss.

Alma is back, but crap. She has similar moves, but nothing too dangerous. Her fireballs are the same. Just be careful as usual and dodge/slash.

The pyramid is pretty easy really. You need to place the tablets correctly. Each time a bit of the moon appears on the door, slugs will appear. take the Serpent, Deity of Creation. At the end of a hall on the side of the water tablet, there is a mirror near a throne. Use a fire ninpo to light up the two torches by the throne to recieve a Jewel of the Demon Seal. Head out of the pyramid.

Chapter 14

Go right. Save and stock up. Enter a room with a pool of light in it. Kill ALL the fiends to get a key. Go to the gate and open it up. Now meet one of the last new enemies, Phantom Piranhas! Ninpo is useful, but the flails are perhaps the best thing to use. Don't over do it, but keep them smacked up. They respawn fast. Grab the LOTG in the alcove in the wall. Go on, up and go right to get the Ninja's diary and Great Devil Elixir, and go down the left hand path. Meet a new fiend - hard to beat, but you should know what to do by now! Stay on the top path and get the Key of the Lion. Head right and up the stairs and get the Great Spirit Elixir. Go down and right again - more Piranhas. Careful, the camera is USELESS here, so wait for them to come to you. Go right again and get another Great Spirit Elixir. Go down another hallway and get the key, and then go back to where you last saw the Spirit of Doku. Go through the door.......

Doku is the same as before, but easier really. Same tactics - watch out for his detachable arms - easy to dodge (he fires when you are far away). Same as before.

Chapter 15

Last level. Go back to get anything you missed......

In the Compound, head right and open the chest, then run in the opposite direction. Save and examine the ninja corpse. Kill all the fiends and head through the doors. Examine another corpse for the key. Enter the Core of the Imperial Palace. Now you have to fight all the way to the top. YAY! Use the Key of the Decayed Soul, kill all the baddies and put a Deity on the plinth. Each floor has about 8 fiends on. And there are several floors.Joy. Good old Ninja Gaiden. Near the Gates of Hell, save! More battles, culminating in Demon Fiend.

Just use aerial attacks on him - dodge his fireballs and stay away so when he crashes down he don't cause splash damage. Aerial attacks are the order of the day.

Take the last Deity, and go to the Gates of Hell. Save, place the Deity on the container, and go up stairs. Cool movie.

The Evil Vigoor Emperor -

You can not fall off the platform. Once used to the controls, this is actually not to hard. Dodge his lasers, and attack his shoulders until they go red, then his head and chest.

The Evil Vigoor Emperor II

Harder. Windmill shruiken and Inazuma ninpo. If you have a lot of Ki! Throw windmill shriuken at him a LOT and when the skulls appear, try to dodge (if they hit it hurts BOTH of you though). Use ninpo otherwise. When his head appears, ninpo yourself and you can scorch him bad. When he's dead.........................

Chapter 16

The Dark Dragon Blade.

Actually, you have a lot of time, just don't dawdle. Acrobat yourself out and grab the Dark Dragon Blade. Reach Rachel and win the final battle....................................

Congratulations, now go solve World War. It's easier.

The Way of the Ninja

"In the mountains of Autumn, there is one who walks the path of the Ninja..."

You'll start off in the role of the legendary Ryu Hayabusa who will soon be the coolest game chracter ever. Your starting position is in the Valley of Shadows. Proceed up
the river, and climb the left stone stairway by jumping up the ledges. A pink note should fly by and hit the wall. Read it (press X), and it tells you how to run up walls. Run horizontally along the wall to cross the ledge. Then, run up the following wall, and Ryu should grab a hold of a small ledge. Shimmy to your right, and jump up. Read the next note, then turn around, and open the chest to receive an Elixir of Spiritual Life. Go back to where the second note was, and run up the wall. You should catch another small ledge. Jump up, then proceed left. Two brown ninjas will drop down from above. This will be the first battle you interact with in the game. They're fairly easy. Use your
blocking attacks whenever they come rushing at you with attacks (or interrupt their attacks with a quick stab). Once you've dealt with them both, run sideways along the wall to cross the location.

Open the next chest to receive another Elixir of Spiritual Life. Head into the small cavern, and read the tutorial note. Position yourself in the narrow shaft, then perform the Flying Bird Jump. Simply run and jump up one wall, then quickly jump to the opposing wall in mid-air. If done correctly, jump one more time to land on the above ledge. You're basically ricocheting from one wall to another until you reach the top. Once above, run down the hall, and make quick use of the 3 brown ninjas. Go on the wooden grate, and jump upwards in a side-to-side pattern to reach the top. You'll now be in the:

Ninja Fortress

Right near the steps of this massive structure will be two foolish ninjas. Make quick work of them both as they're the same practical enemies from before. Run up the stairs, and all the way to the end of the hall. Open the sliding door, and you must combat 3 fellow ninjas. Again, don't get clustered in the middle. Try using quick slashes, and follow up with strong attacks to finish them off. A chest inside has an Elixir of Spiritual Life. Open the next door, and the test becomes greater as you'll face 6 ninjas (3 at a time). Use the same technique from before, but try a few wall-jumping attacks as well. Make sure you block to save your life supply. If your life bar is low, press START, and try using the Elixirs of Spiritual Life. They can heal about 2/3 of your life bar. Once the doors are unlocked, head into the next location. You should now be inside a narrow hallway. Go up, and check out the Samurai statue. It's missing its face. Look to the left on the drawer for a Spiritual Life elixir, along with another one in the lower right corner (blind spot in room). Go down the hallway, and deal with the 3 ninjas around the corner.

Open the double doors at the end, and walk onto the white dojo mat. Battle the 6-7 ninjas, then open the nearby chest for the Lives of the Thousand Gods. It's pretty much like an upgrade item. Now, go right, and there should be a lone pot in the corner. Look for a tall narrow carpet along the wall. Slice it to reveal a secret doorway. Inside, you'll be greeted by 2 Brown Ninjas, along with a special White Ninja. White ninjas can toss shurikens, so don't get too
far away. This room has about 15-20 ninjas, so quickly engage them, then run to the top part of the room. Step on the dark-colored plates, and they're actually trap doors which will drop you to the Underground Storehouse. Break the nearby jars for some essence/power, and watch out for the red bats. You can slice them for essence if you desire. Head out of the cave using the pathways, and open the chest along the left wall for the Fangs of the Samurai. The cave should lead back to the outside area. Jump up the platforms, and then head up along the border of the Ninja Fortress.

Around one of the corners is two ninjas. Make sure they're dealt with swiftly and painlessly. Continue onward, enter the doorway, and open the chest for the Talisman of Rebirth (basically an extra life). Drop down into the hole, and you'll be in the dojo room from before. Make your way back to where the Samurai Statue was, and press X to place the Fangs of the Samurai in place. A special Key of Courage will be released from his hand. Go back to the right, but do NOT drop into the storehouse hole. Slice the tall carpet along the wall behind it to reveal another doorway. Enter inside, then save your game on the nearby Idol Statue. Once your game is saved, run up the stairs, and enter the
wooden walkway. Two white ninjas should be located up above. Quickly charge them (they'll toss shurikens if you don't), and make quick work of them. They're a tad more challenging, but white ninjas tend to drop blue energy, which heals your life bar. After both targets have been eliminated, head up to the Inner Sanctum doorway, and press X to open it. If you gathered the Key of Courage (as following the instructions before), the door should open.

Proceed inside, and you'll have to take out five white ninjas. This can be a fairly complex battle, but keep on the move, and whip out any spare shurikens when you have free time. The door ahead will become unlocked once you've defeated all opponents in this room. Head inside to meet the first boss of the game.

A large, muscular man will be meditating in the center of a dojo-like room. Although you're not aware of his name right away, this is actually Murai, who was a former member of the Hayabusa Clan. Murai is a master of the Nunchakus, and ninja arts as well. Before the battle begins, you'll be presented with an overwhelming swish, and swirl of combo attacks. He looks tougher than he actually is.

LEVEL ONE BOSS: Murai

Murai is a counter-like boss who tends to attack whenever you stand still too long. To defeat him, try to lure yourself close to his proximity, then quickly block his fury rage of attacks. When he stops
attacking, let go of the block button, and counter fire with a few weak
strikes of your own. DO NOT get caught up in any combo more than 4 hits,
otherwise, he'll catch you off guard. Murai also has a close-range power
attack where he twirls towards you. The only way to prevent this attack
from damaging you is to do a quick strike while he's coming at you. For
the most part, DO NOT overblock, otherwise Murai will grapple you to the
ground with nasty moves. Try wall attacks, and charged attacks if
possible. Projectiles are useless as he instantly reflects them back at
you. This is a fairly tough battle for the first boss in the game.

Once you lower Murai's health bar to the minimal echelon, the battle will
then enter an FMV sequence. Apparently, Murai and Ryu are excellent friends. The unfriendly welcome was just a normal test of the ninjahood,
that many would-be gamers know nothing about. The battle ends up turning
into a friendly conversation where Ryu tells Murai about how his father's clan is protecting the Dark Dragon Blade. Murai suggests that the blade is nothing more than a waste since no one is wielding the awesome power of the sword, but Ryu prefers to differ. Suddenly, a young girl starts sprinting through the Ninja Fortress. She blasts through the door to inform both of them that Hayabusa Village is burning, and under attack! Save your kindred before it's too late

The Hayabusa Ninja Village

"The village is burning. Before long, Ryu hears the screams of his
brethren..."

Before sprinting down to the village, go speak with Murai. He'll actually teach you two different Ultimate Techniques. These attacks can
only be performed when yellow essence orbs are lying around on the ground, but they're useful nonetheless. The first attack is the Extinction Straight Slash. Hold down Y until you see a yellow orb come at you, then release it before it explodes. If performed correctly, Ryu will sprint straight forward in a blue beam of light, decapitating any opponents in the way. Another attack is the Level 2 version, which basically uses two orbs, yet extracts more essence from dead bodies. Just repeat the process, and wait for both orbs to strike you at
the same time. Finally, speak with him a last time to teach you the Reverse Wind Technique. Hold down the Left Trigger, then press a direction to roll in that specific direction. You'll be using this often, so get use to it.

Start off by sprinting out of the dojo room, and back down the usual pathway. Run all the way back to the Valley of Shadows by leaving the Ninja Fortress (down the front stairwell), and dropping back down to the stone caverns. Drop to ground level, but sprint northward up the river. Check your map in case you're lost. You're aiming for a blue dot on the northern ridge. You'll eventually reach a "Shrine" area. Interact with the Shrine to receive the Art of the Fire Wheels. This is the first degree of Ninpo magic you'll receive in the game. You can enable Ninpo magic by pressing Y + B. For now though, just leave it in your inventory. The shrine will lower to reveal a secret elevator. Jump aboard, and press X. You'll now be lowered to a depressed canyon. Behind
the elevator is a chest containing a Great Spirit Elixir. I'd like to thank RnTmErr for this tip. Run across the opening by wall running, then open the chest across the gap. Inside you'll receive an Elixir of Devil Way, which can refill your Ki power.

Proceed into the forest, and you'll engage some of your first enemies. A group of three Samurais will come charging at you. These are slightly tougher than the ninjas from before as they tend to block your basic combos, but they can be penetrated quite easily. If you're surrounded, simply use the rolling technique, or jump out of the hairy mix. If one of them drops essence, use your ultimate technique, and lay down a fatal blow. Sometimes you can decapitate your opponents quite easily. Once they're dead, continue forward, and slide down the incline. Jump into the water, and swim forward. Climb out of the water via the nearby ledge, and you'll be forced to engage several more Samurais. There are roughly around 5 of them, except one of them is a special magic caster. He'll occasionally toss energy balls at you from a ranged
distance. Your best option is to interrupt your fighting with the default swordsmen, then quickly toss shurikens at him to halt his spell casting. That, or you can focus your attacks on him first. Be careful though, he's skilled with two small weapons as well. If he warps close to you, quickly block, then counter attack after the furious combo.

Now that you've finished off this small locale of a group, climb the nearby tower by pressing X. Open the chest to receive a map of Hayabusa Village. Jump down, and continue forward until you reach a broken bridge. Jump into the water, and turn around. Under the bridge is a Life of the Gods orb behind some broken trash. Make sure you grab it before crossing. You can reach it by tapping A right when you touch the surface of the water. Ryu should be able to run on the water without sinking in. After you've snatched that, swim slightly to the right, and climb up via the small wooden platform. Jump to ground level, then save your game via the statue. Go to the left of the save statue to open a chest, and receive an Elixir of Spiritual Life.

Hayabusa Ninja Village

Now you're ready to save your hometown village. Charge in through the narrow doorway, and proceed forward. You're going to have to deal with 5-7 Samurais. Try using your Ultimate Techniques to make this battle easier than it is. Save your Ninpo magic for the bosses later. Once they're dead, go left down the first pathway. Check the dead body to receive an Elixir of Spiritual Life. Head back to the main entrance, and go forward. Go all the way to the end of the street, and a small statue head should be on the ground (looks brownish-red). Pick it up, then return to the town entrance. Look to your left, and there should be a statue missing a head. Press X to place the head on the Jizo Statue. You will receive a Life of the Gods (extends your life meter after you use 9 of them). Now, head to the middle of the town, slightly past the second pathway. Look to your left for a few roofs and a window opening above. Jump on each roof, and then head into the small window.

Once inside, drop down to the first floor. Look near the doorway, and pick up the Bow. Now, check the nearby shelves for an Elixir of Devil Way, and one of Spiritual Life. Go check out the statue, and this was actually carved by the hands of an ancient blacksmith named Muramasa. These statues are spread throughout the game to act as "certain" shops you can purchase items from. You may shop, or talk to him if you wish.

Once you're done browsing through, exit the building via the double doorways opposite of the statue. Outside, you're going to have to deal with two magic wielders, along with several Samurai Swordsmen. Your best bet is to focus on the magic users first, as they tend to act as key support units. Block their combos, and counter attack. Use your reverse wind technique to roll under the energy balls, or out of danger. Check the nearby body for arrows (you can only
hold a certain amount), and equip the bow for now. Stand on the wooden mark along the ground, and snipe the three targets near the river. Each of them rewards you with multiple amounts (15) of blue, red, and yellow essence. Once you're about ready to move on, head left past some burning rubble. Once you walk far enough, the rubble will collapse behind you, and two horsemen will leap over the rubble. This isn't exactly a boss battle, although it's fairly challenging to a certain extent.

First of all, there are 4-5 horsemen to engage with in the battle. Two of them have spears, while the others have arrows. Personally, I concentrated on the Arrow Horsemen first as they tend to be the peskiest. Use the Reverse Wind Technique (L trigger + direction) to roll under the stab spears of the other soldiers. DO NOT roll into the horses, but roll near them, then quickly start attacking the shins of the horses. After roughly around 25 shots, the soldier on the horse should fall off. Now attack and finish off that soldier. Repeat
this procedure for the spearmen, and catch them from behind whenever they turn their horse around. You can usually get in about 12-15 stabs by simply tapping the X button. DO NOT use your Ninpo magic, at least not yet. Save it for the actual boss. Alternately you can use the bow and arrow to shoot them off their horses and if you do it right it will only take one shot.

After you've eliminated the default horsemen, jump over the rubble which cools down. Check the body on the right for a Great Spirit Elixir, and then save your game with the nearby statue. You can check out the Graveyard to your left, but it has nothing of interest (as of right now). Instead, proceed forward onto the wooden bridge. It's nukem time.

A large wooden doorway will open up to reveal a Samurai Swordsman dressed
in massive armor. Slowly but surely, he makes his way onto the wooden
bridge along with a battle horse, and gigantic Mongolian spear-like weapon.Let's show him who the boss is.

LEVEL TWO BOSS: Samurai Horseman

This is a very tough battle for one of the earlier levels in the game.
The Samurai Horseman also has two magic wielding swordsman by his side
for most of the battle. There are two procedures you can do from here on.
You may either focus on killing the magic wielding warriors, and keep
killing their respawned forms until they stop respawning. Or, you may try
to simply focus on narrowing down the horseman's life bar before it's too
late. Personally, I simply focused on the horseman. Some key tips are to
roll out of the way (to avoid his spear attacks), then quickly sprint up
and slash his horse from behind. The energy balls from the magic users
can be a real pain in the arse. If you are in desperate need of health,
simply kill the magic users, and they'll drop essence. Keep doing this to
refill your life bar, then re-engage the horseman. Avoid jumping as he
has extreme range on his attacks. If you decide to do the first strategy,
watch out for the horseman to strike you from behind. Roll out of the way
in timed intervals when you sense he's coming towards your position.
Make use of the fire Ninpo magic as well. When his life bar is fairly
low, quickly cast the Fire Wheel spell, and run up to him to catch him on
fire. This is perfect for making the battle come to a decisive end. You can also kill all the mages first, then just keep using the ultimate attack (hold y) to go through him then turn and get in a quick combo on his horse.

After you've killed him, run up to the aura in the middle, and press X.
You'll receive a Technique Scroll: Counter Attacks. You can now counter attack opponents by blocking an attack (holding down L trigger), then pressing X or Y. Basically, you'll attack them right after you block a swing with your blade. Enter the large wooden doorway where the Samurai Swordsman came from.

Yet again, another FMV sequence will open up. This time, we're presented
with Ryu Hayabusa sprinting towards the inner temple where the Dark Dragon Blade is held. Most of his comrades are slain, and we see a large knight gallavanting through them like a knife slicing into butter. Suddenly, Kureha, who is one of the temple's protectors (a young girl), collapses and dies in front of Ryu. This angers him greatly as a childhood friend has been lost. He grips the Dragon Blade, and charges the mysterious knight. The first attack is blocked, then countered, and the knight finally slashes Ryu across the chest/leg. Ryu falls to the ground as a failure. We're then presented with a black falcon flying to the scene above Ryu's dead body. Some say Ryu never died, and that Murai rescued him. Others say the falcon resurrected Ryu. Only time will tell.

We're then brought back to a scene of Ryu getting dressed into a new uniform. Murai informs him that the man he fought was actually Lord Doku, leader of the Greater Fiends. There's some reasonable connection between them and the Vigoor Empire. Ryu decides to hitch a ride on an airship to get to the Vigoor Empire, where maybe he can beat some answers out of the senseless combatants. The game then zooms to a scene of the Vigoor Empire detecting an unwanted intruder on an airship (you). Alarms start to go off, and a gigantic electrified man is released (as part of the defense unit). Let's get this show on the road.*

Skies of Vengeance

"The Hayabusa Village has burned, and the Dark Dragon Blade is gone. Ryu has stowed aboard an Airship headed for Vigoor Empire. His goal: Vengeance..."

This level starts off with you inside your cabin quarters. Go to the table and take the Elixir of Devil Way. Now, open your cabin door, and head out to the door opposite of you. Grab the Spiritual Life potion on the table, then leave this room. Go up, and open the next door on the left. Open the chest to reveal the Airship Map. Unfortunately, your gleaming discovery will be interrupted by two Vigoorian Guards who breach through the windows. You're going to face many of these throughout the level, so get use to them. The white uniformed soldiers are fairly weak, and easy to kill. Watch out for the black ones though as they have tazers. Once you've finished them both off, leave the room, and enter the 1-# door on the right hand side. Grab the Spiritual Life potion, and leave. Run to the end of the hall, and engage the four surrounding guards. When you're a certain distance from them, they'll pull out pistols and shoot at you. Be weary of your surroundings. Use the wall to your advantage, and try to make use of some Essence moves as well.

Once they're dead, check the aura in the middle to receive the Wing Key. Use the key on the double doors right next to you to reach the Main Deck. Run inside, and head around the protruding wall. Go to the upper left section of the room, and check the ship's galley to find a Life of the Gods. Leave the room, and head to the upper right portion. Open the door on that side. You should be in a room filled with spewed documents. Open the next door, and suddenly the power locks will turn red. Battle the four guards as usual, but watch out for the black ones. Once they're finished off, leave through the next door and you should be in a hallway. Enter the door opposite of the one you just came through. You should now be in the Captain's room. Check the desk for a letter.

Apparently, the ship has been having problems whenever emergency power has been forced to turn on. Because of the lack of power, whenever a power shortage occurs, all power locks on the ship are unlocked.

Check the desk again for a scrolled up map which turns out to be a Map of Tairon. Also, you can find Golden Scarab #1 in the right hand corner of the room. Head over to the Captain's Elevator, and use it. This will lower you to the Fore Cabin. Run around the semi-circle room, and then use the next elevator. The ID door in this room is locked for now. Go down the elevator, and you'll be brought to an isolated room. You'll have to deal with 5-6 guards. If you need to, make use of your Ninpo magic, although I found simply using Ultimate Techniques worked best. Use the counter attacks to your advantage. Once they're dead, an aura will appear in the middle of the room.
Grab it to receive an ID card. You can now open certain powered locks on the floating vehicle. Open the door directly behind you, and retrieve the Life of the Gods inside the chest. Head back up the elevator, and use the ID card on the door to the left.

Once inside, you'll have to deal with a small threat of 2 Vigoorian Guards. Head through the following doorway, and then use the save statue on the right to note down your progress. Before heading on straight through, you can do the following to gain some "secret" inventory:

Go up the spiral stairwell. Then, go down the opposing stairwell. You can find a Muramasa Shop in a nifty location. If you want, purchase some Spiritual Life potions (although I actually upgraded my Dragon Sword, 3000 essence). If you talk with him, Muramasa will yank your golden scarab, and give you a Life
of the Gods. You can find out more about what you receive for handing in
scarabs. Anyhow, once you're finished shopping, head back up the stairwell. Now, make your way back to the Living Quarters. Open the ID-card door at the end of the hallway. You'll be in a cargo room filled with crates. Jump onto the left side of crates, and make your way to the middle section of the room. Leap straight across, and you should be able to reach the back part of the room. In the left corner is a chest containing a Talisman of Rebirth, along with a chest in the right corner
holding an Elixir of Devil Way. Finally, check the small two-crate dip between both chests for Scarab #2. Head back to the save statue, and note down your progress.

Head on through the door, and you should be outside. Run across the small walkway, and enter the door to reach the Middle Deck. Check the crate on the left for an infinite supply of arrows (although you can only handle 15 at a time). Smash the crates for some essence, then start to unwind the wench (in the corner of the room), by tapping down X. Eventually, a few guards will burst through the windows, and attempt to ambush you from behind. Let go of the wench, and deal with them appropriately. Keep unwinding the wench until the large cargo door is slightly more than fourty-five degrees open. Pull out
your bow, and snipe the 2 guards across the large gap. Run to the corner of the door, and jump up to reach a small dangling wire. Shimmy across to the other side, and run to the end of the current deck. Kill the black guard around the corner, then head to the other walkway around the corner. At the end of this walkway is a chest containing a Spiritual Life potion. Look on the right hand side for a window with a poor repair job. Use your bow, and shoot the window to smash it. Leap through the opening, and you'll now be in the power source room.

Now it's nukem time. Pull out your sword, and start to slice all of the
controls in the room. Once you've destroyed most of the panels, an
announcement will start to play over the intercom:

An announcement says that all locks have been disabled due to a shortage of power. Emergency power supply has been initiated.

Leave the room, and go back to the Fore Cabin. Just shimmy across as usual, and make sure you refill your arrows on the way out. Once you're back at the Fore Cabin, save your game. Go up the spiral stairwell, then make it back to the hallway before the Captain's room. Head to the far end where there should be a large metallic door (with a different kind of lock). Fortunately, the lock is now open because you disabled the power supply. Open it, then proceed up the stairs. Pull out your bow, and snipe the two pistol-wielders above. Go all the way up, and you should reach a dead end. However, behind you is an elevated platform. Go to the right or left hand sides, and then jump directly up to reach the above area. Kill the three guards above (you might take some fire on the way up). Look along the left wall for a large crate. Leap onto it,
then wall jump along the wall to the area above. If performed correctly, Ryu should land in a secret ceiling area above with Scarab #3 on the ground. Run straight ahead, and open the chest for a Great Spirit Elixir. Engage the two guards up ahead, and go to the metal cargo box in the corner of the room (behind a grated wall). You're going to have to do a flying bird jump to reach the top of the metal box, then another wall jump to reach the metal walkway above. It might take a few tries, but boost yourself off the solid to flip up to the area above.

Run down the walkway, and there should be a ladder shaft. However, before you can head on up, the hatch is actually locked. What you have to do is perform a multiple wall jump to reach the part I'm talking about. Position yourself in the center of the red shaft, then jump against the left wall, run up, and jump. Repeat this process three more times, and Ryu should land in a red side
area. Run to the end of the hall, and hit the switch. It'll unlock the hatch above. Now, jump down, press X to climb the ladder, and Ryu will be on top of the airship. Unfortunately, you'll also be met by an Electrical Mofo (as I
like to call him).

LEVEL THREE BOSS: Dynamo

Some players tend to have trouble with this boss mainly because of his
massive power on attacks. Basically, he's equipped with a gigantic
electric gun, that shoots out blasts of electrical charges in small
intervals. What you should do is keep distance between him and yourself.
Keep running in circles, but DO NOT jump (makes you an easier target).
You can try rolling, but keep running in circles until he fires about 5
laser blasts. Suddenly, his gun will discharge, and it'll be jammed for a
few seconds. Quickly sprint in, and lay down a few power slashes or the
flying swallow (jump and y) if you upgraded your sword. If you want, you can also cast Ninpo magic to assist in causing more damage. Just repeat this strategy, and keep retreating/approaching. If you stay close too long, he'll grab you, and shoot you point blank with the weapon. Also, try to keep several potions on hand when facing him. You might take a few hard hits along the way. Aside from that though, he's not as challenging when compared to other bosses faced.

Our gigantic boss will start to scream in agony as he has been defeated.
Not only is he all sliced up, but the rain causes for his suit to
malfunction. He explodes into millions of tiny organic pieces. Before he
dies though, his gun discharges and takes out the Airship, which leaves us with a very covert exit. However, the zeppelin starts to burn in a furious manner. It's getting a little too hot to be standing here for long.

Imperial City Infiltration

"Ryu has escaped from the crash of the Airship. Spread out before him is the city of Tairon, capital of the Vigoor Empire..."

We're brought to the scene of the magnificent airship slowly but surely
burning down to crash on the ground. The camera then zooms out to show Ryu standing upon a nearby power line. Using his metal wrist bands, he slides along the electrified power source as if he was skating upon a sheet of ice. You're now in the Outskirts of Tairon.*

Start off by saving your game at the nearby save statue. Jump to the street below, and start to run down the alleyway. Around the corner are 3 Vigoorian Guards, and make their existence quick and painless. Keep going down the pathway, and a Kunai note will fly by. Read it, and it'll tell you to go visit Han's Bar. Apparently, they have information on where you can find this Lord Doku. Keep going forward, and you'll reach the Twin Serpents Plaza. Look to the left for a small doorway behind an enclosed fence. Go inside, and open the chest to receive a Great Spirit Elixir. Now, go down the left hallway, and kill the 3 Vigoorian Guards. Yet again, nothing we haven't seen before. Open the doorway, and you'll now be in front of the Military Gate. Go along the left wall, and check the ninja's body for a Technique Scroll: Guillotine Throw. It's a fairly useful move that can be operated by jumping at an enemy, and pressing Y (while above their head). Run up to the gate, and check the other ninja body for some much needed arrows. Go right towards the door with
the yellow dot on it.

Suddenly, three Vigoorian soldiers will drop down. One of them has a grenade launcher, so avoid the grenades, and take out the usual grunts. Now's a great time to use some ultimate techniques considering you have vast space to navigate with. Once they're dead, head up to the yellow door, and press X to open it. Three soldiers are on the other side, and again, make their lives worthless. By now, you should see a "Skull" door to your right, along with a shiny treasure chest, and golden scarab on the ground. You cannot reach this area yet until later on in the game. Run straight down the street, but don't go left. Keep going straight, and turn right around the corner. Go to the end of the street to find a Top portion of the Stone Tablet. Again, this is a puzzle you will accumulate throughout the game, so no need to worry about it now.

Run back to the T-way from before, and three Vigoorian guards will be there. Kill them all, and go down the steps you passed before.

The 3 Vigoorian Guards you just fought are actually part of an infinite
respawn pool. Once you run down the steps, a Kunai note should hit the ledge. Read it, and it says that anything blue can solve your problems. Pull out your bow, and snipe off the guard on the platform to your right, and straight ahead. Once they're dead, look where the Kunai note landed. There's a small blue ledge there. Run off the ledge, and Ryu will flip (but hang) onto the railing. Shimmy to your right, and jump up. Open the chest to receive a Life of the Gods. Shimmy back to where you were, and look to your right along the building wall. Look slightly up, and there should be a highly-placed blue railing. Walk down the steps a bit, then turn right, and wall run. Ryu will grab a hold of
the ledge. Shimmy to your left, then jump onto the guidance wire, and cross the opening. Open the next chest for a Thousand Lives of the Gods. Quickly pull out your bow, and snipe the 2 guards that pop out (from the stairwell you were on before). Now, jump down to the street level. There should be a door
