So you've bought the game, possibly because it is Rare's last
GameCube exclusive title, or because you've always liked the
Starfox games. For whatever reason, you must be stuck, or just
extremely curious to find out what is coming up next. Well,
remember this is a guide to the game Starfox Adventures and thus
it will contain spoilers (isn't that the point?). So, read the
menu below and skip to the section you're stuck on. If you read
this like a book, then it isn't my fault if you find something
you didn't want to know.

Chapter 1

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1-1 General Scales' Galleon

So you've just started the game, and you're stuck already? Fair
enough, but don't expect an easy completion of the game if
that's the case. So Krystal is riding the Cloudrunner through
the sky and Krystal has dropped her staff. You're left with a
behind view of Krystal on the back of the cloudrunner in what
seems to be a battle you can't lose.

That's right, no matter how hard you try, you can not get a game
over at this point! But you're in a hurry and so you want to get
past this bit as quickly as possible, obviously. It wouldn't do
your pride any good to admit being defeated in an unloseable
fight would it?

First, get used to the A button. This will make the Cloudrunner
spit fireballs at the galleon. Aim for the blue and yellow heads
that attack you. After landing three hits on each, they will
burst into flames and be rendered useless. You can dodge the
galleon's fire if you like, but it isn't necessary (you're
invincible remember?), but it will save you a little time if you
do dodge, plus it will get you used to the feel of the flying
part of the game.

Now you've got a chance to hit the ship's propellers. It is
reccomended you do so. Spit your fire at them and watch as they
break apart. Just watch out when you get a little close.

Now take out the fireball-shooting heads, simple eh?

Now the galleon has no aft defenses, it turns to face you and
attempts to ram you. Dodging might be a good idea here. Try to
avoid the fireballs heading in your direction and fire some back
at the Dragon's Head until the Cloudrunner places you on the
galleon's deck.

1-2 The Test of Observation

If you are observant enough to realise that this walkthrough can
help you through the observation test, then you must be
observant enough to pass it.

Basically, the Krazoa Spirit will hide in one of the six urns.
The urns will then move at a moderate speed in attempt to
confuse you. You have to pick out the urn containing the Krazoa
Spirit. However, pick the wrong one and it becomes increasingly
harder. So get it right first time!
Basically, concentrate on the one urn containing the Krazoa
spirit and don't blink at all. If you get a problem with this,
then don't expect the rest of the game to be easy.

1-3 Boss Galdon

Galdon conceals the first Spellstone in his icy grip. To get it,
you'll have to beat Galdon - duh! This battle is quite a simple
one really.

Galdon will try to attack you by spitting green fireballs at
you. So don't stand still. You will probably notice that Galdon
has a glowing red backside, and suprinsingly enough, that is his
weakspot. Use Tricky's 'stay' command to create a diversion for
you to get behind Galdon and pump him with your firestaff. Just
hope that Galdon doesn't swing that way!

After a few hits, Fox McCloud will be swallowed by Galdon.
Inside the stomach, you'll see the first Spellstone hanging by
some of Galdon's flesh. Avoid the floating crystals and attack
the flesh holding the spellstone.

If you've hurt Galdon enough, when he spits you out, you'll have
the Spellstone. If not, aim for his heart and he'll eventually
swallow you again to give you a second chance.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 2

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2-1 The Test of Combat

So you're getting the hang of it now, but you need a little help
getting the second Krazoa Spirit, right? Well this one is one of
the most straight forward, easy-peasy lemon so squeezy, tests in
the whole game!

Basically, you will be attacked by ten SharpClaws. Not all at
once, but it poses enough of a challenge for someone at beginner
level when you find you only have a three and a half minute time
limit to beat them in.

Just make use of you Ice Blaster, freeze the SharpClaw nearest
to you and smash him into itty-bitty pieces. You could always
bash them to death with your staff, but it ain't so fun that
way.

2-2 F-zero racing for the Spellstone

Okay, okay, maybe I am the only person to see the link between
racing on hover vehicles and F-zero. But it is basically the
same thing, just, only as part of a quest instead of as a whole
game.

If you have played F-zero X on the Nintendo 64, and played the
death race, you should get past this in no time at all.
Basically, you're on a one way track and have to smash up the
SharpClaw's racers in order to get the Spellstone.

You do have limited fuel which can be topped up by riding over
boosters, which funnily enough, also give you a speed-up.

Just race around the track until your nose is slightly ahead of
the SharpClaw you want to bash, then quickly move towards him,
causing damage to his racer, and his racer alone.

You could just attack the SharpClaw with the Spellstone, but
believe me, its more fun this way.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 3

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3-1 The Test of Fear

This test is fairly similar to that of when you were flaming the
Lightfoots with the Cloudrunner. When the test starts, there
will be a green bar at the top of the screen with a moving red
vertical line that you control. It works fairly similar to the
balance system of the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series.

Basically, don't watch the screen itself, completly ignore all
that is happening, and focus directly on the bar. The red line's
patterns will fluctuate quite often so make sure you're alert
and ready to move it in the opposite direction in a split
second.

Be light fingered (or thumbed) in your approach though. If you
mvoe the line too fast, it will venture into the ever growing
blue sections of the bar, as from your experience of the
Lightfoot clan torching will tell you, is not a good thing.

Fail the test and you will have to start from the beginning of
the shrine again. So be careful!

3-2 The Redeye King

The Redeye King is one mean Tyranosaurus Rex dude. He is even
more eviler than Skelator. Ali G quotes aside, the Redeye King
really does pose a mean threat to the population of humanoid
talking foxes. But there's no avoiding him I'm afraid, for he
holds the next Spellstone in his forehead.

First thing to do is to run! King Redeye is quite a runner and
wont stop to catch his breath. If he catches up with you, run
into one of the alcoves until he passes.

Now the chase begins.

1. Follow the Redeye King until you get to one of the corners of
his lair. Now look towards the corner of the inner square and
you should see a switch for shooting with your staff. Shooting
the switch opens the gate below that secures a blast-barrel.

2. Pick up the barrel and run. Run until you find a raised
switch on the floor. If you feel you have time, press it to see
what happens. You should see some electricity forming a shield
across one section of the lair. Now, if you look behind you, you
should see big Redeye coming close. Don't fear, he will stop to
roar at you. He has one mighty pair of lungs! Get your tming
right, press that switch on the floor again, and you should find
that the Redeye King will fall for it and run straight into the
electrical shield which, although doesn't actually make him take
any damage, it temporarily stuns him.

3. Remember that barrel I told you to pick up? Well wait for
King Redeye to fall to the ground and throw it at him. Now he
has finally taken some damage. Run, avoid, electrify, explode.
Sounds so simple now eh? Well just repeat this until King Redeye
gets up no more.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 4

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4-1 The Test of Strength

You must have some strength in you to have defeated the
musclefoot in Lightfoot villiage, eh? Well, if you only just got
past that bit, leaving you with an aching thumb and wrist, then
I'll let you in on a little secret that will make life a lot
easier in the future of button-bashing games.

It's called the 'Pen Trick'.

Get a pen, preferrably a Bic Medium Ballpoint (well I have to
make it a little complicated somehow!), but leave the lid over
the nib. Place the top end of the pen flat against the
controller, in the gap at the left edge of the A button. Now,
when the test starts, move the pen left and right over the A
button as quickly as you can, being careful not to actually
damage the controller, and you should get past this test in no
time at all.

4-2 Boss Drakor

Despite being so far into the game, the battle between yourself
and Drakor is one of the easiest there can be!

You're on a floating pltform travelling towards Drakor around
his lair. Occasionally, flame jets will block your way. A simple
shot from your staff will rectify that.

Just keep your staff trained on Drakor, shoot the occasional
switch and pick up any silver rings, which heal you should you
get hurt.

Easy eh?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 5

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5-1 The Test of Knowledge

This one really will get your brain ticking, and your fist
swinging in frustration at your siblings who laugh at your
failure.

Basically, you have to match the items on the floor to the
pictures of levels in the game, within the time limit. Expect to
fail if you make more than one mistake though.

You'll have to remember what picture matches what level, but
here's the item to level list:

Cloudrunner Flute - Cloudrunner Fortress
Moonseed - Moon Mountain Pass
Dinosaur Horn - Snowhorn Wastes
Gold Redeye Tooth - Walled City
Wooden Block Carving - Lightfoot Villiage
Meteor - Outerspace

5-2 The Final Battle

Ofcourse, I have given you plenty of warnings about spoilers and
have even left out the final boss's name in the contents menu so
you can't blame me if you haven't got this far and you're
reading ahead! Mind you, you have probably already guessed who
it is.

That's right, the final boss is Andross, not General Scales as
you once thought!

First of all, you're met with a giant head of a Krazoa god. Aim
your Arwing's fire power at its eyes and diamond shape on it's
head. Dodge the spiral ray as best you can as you will need all
the health you can get!

Now Andross turns to face you, and that ain't a pretty sight!
Aim for the hands - where funnily enough there are diamonds
situated on them. Destroying them will make his hands disappear.
Stay to the left or right of the screen to avoid his swipes
though.

Andross is pretty mad now and will blow meteors in your
direction. shoot them and pick up the odd silver ring to
replenish your health. Then Andross will try to suck you into
his facial cavity and chew you up, causing major damage. Keep
tapping L or R to spin whilst flying in the respective direction
to avoid it from happening.

Now Andross will turn so that the Krazoa head is facing you
again. Do exactly the same as last time, but be careful, Andross
fires homing missiles at you which are extremely difficult to
dodge. Shooting them is your best option.

Unsuprisingly, Andross will face you again. His hands will have
rematerialised and he will fire spiral rays from them this time.
Destroy them like last time but be more careful.

When his hands are destroyed this time, they wont return.
Andross will try to suck you in harder than ever before, which
you can't stop! Luckily, Falco makes an appearance and fires a
smart-missile into his face.

Andross now fires more meteors at you, so keep your finger
firing at them. Falco will at some point drop a power up block.
Shoot it and collect the smart bomb inside. Repeat this until
your missile inventory is full.

When Andross then tries to suck you in. Instead of dodging, fire
a missile at his mouth. He will then turn transpartent.

Fire the remaining missiles at his brain and he will take
serious damage. Fire your normal firepower too to try and finish
him off. If you're quick enough, you wont need to repeat, but
chances are you're not. So just build up your missles again,
dodge his head-thrusting attacks, and enjoy the final cut-scene.

THORNTAIL HOLLOW

Once you land on the planet, Pepper will brief you and explain the Communicator. You'll respond with your own dry sense of humor.
As soon as you land on the planet Pepper will brief you on the Communicator.
Fox mentioned a weapon, Krystal's Staff, which however is pretty close-by. To find it look to the right of the two ThornTails standing nearby and you'll see a small circle of trees and flowers. Head to the center and you'll pick up the Staff, you will next be instructed on how to use it.
After having located the staff, approach the nearby plaza near where you found the staff. As you approach the door, four SharpClaw Grunts will dash out of the door and attack. Defeat them all using basic combat techniques (combos, blocking with R). Once they're all destroyed, a red button will appear, and a door will open across the way in the Hollow.
Head through the door and press A to lift up the lid. Drop down in the hole and make your way through the tunnel and by pressing A at the central device your staff will be charged up with the FIRE BLASTER. In order to leave the area fire at the button next to the gate.
Having returned returned to the Hollow, re-approach the small plaza, and blast away at the button above the door. Head through and having spoken to Queen Earthwalker, Slippy will translate that you need to speak to the Warpstone, and that he'll take you to Ice Mountain to find her son, Prince Tricky.
Alongside the river, you should see a pod-like plant with emmiting vapor, when you blast it and collect the spores that fly out, you will be armed with several bomb-spores.. Plant one next to the wall and you can talk to the Warpstone. He won't want to talk to you unless you can bring him a gift.
Scarab rocks are at abundancy here, so now would be the time to collect a few. The easiest wayof finding them is by flipping the stones in the area. When you're satisfied head towards the store and buy the Rock Candy there, as well as some maps if you feel like it. Now, head to the Warpstone and present him with the Rock Candy. He'll willing accept the gift and explain his warping powers. You'll want to push Left to head to Ice Mountain.
A short film follows, showing poor little PrinceTricky being carried away in a SharpClaw.
You will instantaneously start being shot at by the pesky SharpClaw cannons, try to avoid the shots as well as possible. To the left of you, up a little slope, is a Barrel Pad. As you cannot break the wall of crates across the field with your staff, take the barrels and toss them at the wall. The cannons which had previously been shooting at you is being manned by two grunts behind the wall. Take them out and a Blast Button will appear above the metal door. Shoot the Button and head in. Annoyingly Tricky will run off and the remaining SharpClaws will hop on their bikes and begin chasing him. You, obviously, have to gear up the remaining bike and give chase.
Ride on the hills until you pass the DinoSoldiers. To ensure its you that wins the race - slam on your brakes in the small tunnel. The DinoSoldiers will get caught-up with each other, as they cannot pass you. Eventually they will become badly mashed up and will die. When you get to the end, you'll ditch your bike and meet Tricky, and your translator will finally be working.
Finally ... follow the path and soon, you'll reach a lava pit. Whack the BlueGrubTubs you encounter and feed them to little Tricky. Tricky will explain his FindCommand, use this on the nearby patch of rocks. He soon uncovers a switch which after you step on ... nothing happens. Tricky will tell you about his Stay Command. Use this to have Tricky remain on the switch while you go in the little cave, and use the lever to raise a platform in the lava pool. Head down again into the pool and hop across.
