DELFINO PLAZA SECRET SHINES
---------------------------

This guide assumes you have unlocked all the nozzles in the
plaza. If you haven't, just keep playing through the game and
they become unlocked over time.

IMPORTANT: Directions will be given from each shine and the
starting point will ALWAYS be from in front of the statue facing
the entrance to Bianca Hills, unless stated otherwise.

Shine 1
-------
Run right past the prison building and onto the beach opposite
the fruit market. Head up to the end of the beach by the
lighthouse, now start spraying the sand in this area. You should
see a glimmer at one point and the water should hit the sand
with small explosion like effects. Keep spraying this point to
uncover a golden shine symbol in the sand.

Shine 2
-------
Go up the path to the left (behind the statue), leading into the
town centre, use the hover to get across the water to the other
side. Run forward to the end of the path, turn right up the
slope and right again to where all the Toads are. Right next to
the manhole cover is a building with no door. Head inside and
talk to the man, complete his challenge for the shine.

Shine 3
-------
Exactly the same as Shine 2, but the crates are in harder
positions.

Shine 4
-------
Collect the Rocket Nozzle from behind the statue and run over to
the police building to the right of the statue. Look up and you
will see a bell tower. Use the rocket to get up to the top, now
wash all the muck off the bell for a shine.

Shine 5
-------
Collect the Rocket Nozzle again. But this time head to the
building to the left of the statue. Look up and there is another
bell tower. Launch yourself up and clean the muck off the bell
for another shine. If I remember rightly the Shine appears
inside the tower. To get it, go up on the roof of the building
opposite (next to the white plank area) and go down the manhole,
run back and jump out of the manhole inside the tower.

Shine 6
-------
Collect the Rocket Nozzle once again and head to where you found
Shine 1. Use the rocket to jump to the top of the lighthouse
(the building with the entrance to Gelato Beach on it). Stand on
top of the red fireball emblem and launch yourself straight up
in the air, at the peak of the jump perform a butt slam to smash
the emblem and reveal a shine.

Shine 7
-------
Take the Rocket yet again and head over to the lighthouse where
you got Shine 6. Look out to sea and there are several columns
of land sticking out of the water. Swim over to the farthest one
with the green pipe on top. Charge up the rocket and just before
it goes off jump up out of the water, this allows you to perform
a rocket jump even in water, land on top of the column and go
down the pipe. Complete the sliding mini game for a shine.

Shine 8
-------
Take the Rocket Nozzle and head up any path into the centre of
town, where the Shine Tower is. Run along the pat to the right
of the Shine Tower to the end, where a woman is standing with a
basket on a pole. Rocket jump up to the pond behind the tower.
Jump up onto the grass ledge seperating the bottom and middle
pond. Clean the muck of the large shine in the Shine Tower, then
rocket jump up to the top to collect your shine.

Shine 9
-------
Taking the rocket make your way over to where the Toads are
standing (directions for Shine 2). Rocket jump onto the roof of
the building where you collected Shines 1 & 2. Run over to where
the man is standing. Spray the windcock with water and a coin
will come out, make sure you collect it. Speak to the man and
give him the coinm he will throw you into a building with a
shine in.

Shine 10
--------
Guess what? you got it, take the Rocket Nozzle. Run to the left
of the statue to where the policeman in looking at the poster.
Run past him to the small building with the entrance to Ricco
Harbour on it. Run right along the white planks and jump in the
water, see the four trees sticking out the side of the cliff?
Swim over to them. Inbetween the 3rd and 4th trees is a bit
sticking out futher than the rest of the cliff. Rocket jump out
of the water (as described in Shine 7) and land on the small
platform with the green pipe. Head down the green pipe for a
collect the 8 red coins mini game. The locations are:
1: On the wooden block in front of where you start.
2: Put out the man on fire.
3: On top of the largest wooden block is a red bird. Climb the
closest tree to it and spray it with water. Stay on this tree
and spray it whenever it flies past and it will turn into a red
coin.
4: Zoom the camera right out for this one. In one corner of the
map is a hole, with a cube shaped melon in the ground next to
it. Drop down the hole, press why to look about and there will
be a red coin in fornt of you, carefully collect it.
5-8: Kill the four enemies on the map. Two are catcus enemies,
and two are the blue plants that spit out gunk. To kill the blue
ones spray them from a distance to make them dizzy and then jump
on them.

Shine 11
--------
Take the Turbo Nozzle. Run to the building to the left of the
statue, with the policeman looking at the poster. Charge up the
turbo and run into the saloon doors on the building, inside is a
shine.

Shine 12
--------
Take the turbo and head up the right hand path to the town
centre. 3/4 of the way up the path, on the right, is a gap in
the buildings where you can drop down. Drop down and use the
turbo to bust your way through the saloon doors inbetween the
two policemen. Complete the mini game (just use the turbo, run
straight forward and jump at the end of the platforms) to get
the shine.

Shine 13
--------
Head up the right path into the centre of town, wait by the
shine mozaic on the floor and jump ontop of a boat when it comes
past. When you get under the bridge on the way out to sea
quickly double jump on the spot (for the height) and hold the
hover for as long as possible, you should get far enough into
the hold in he bridge for it to suck you in. Complete the git of
a mini game for your shine. It's hard.

Shine 14
--------
Head left to the building with saloon doors and on top is the
Yoshi egg (it should be, if it isn't you need to continue with
the levels more). Find the fruit he wants and bring it back to
him. From here head into the centre of town, to the moziac from
the last shine. Get on the boat and let it take you out to sea.
Jump off onto the island with the women and basket on (you can
take a sewer pipe to it, but if you don't know which one just do
the boat). Be careful, Yoshi will leave if he gets in the water.
Keep eating the fruit off the trees to keep Yoshi alive while
you wait for the other boat to come in (make sure you don't get
back on the same one...).

When it arrives jump on the roof and wait for it to take you out
to a wooden structure in the sea, jump onto the top of it. Keep
eating tha bananas there and wait for the 3rd boat to arrive.
Jump on it and it will take you to another island with a green
pipe. Get on the island and use Yoshi's juice to melt the stuff
blocking the pipe. Ditch Yoshi and jump in the pipe. Use the
FLUDD to steer the leaf and collect the 8 red coins. If you
don't get them all then jump onto the narrow edge of the river
and carefully walk back to the coins you've missed. Jump and
hover across to the opposite side and collect the coin on the
way. It is possible to get ALL the red coins this way. It's hard
so keep trying.

Shine 15
--------
Take the Turbo Nozzle and make your way to the lighthouse. Swim
out to sea towards those columns sticking out of the water. One
of them has a pair of saloon doors on it. Bust your way through
with the turbo and theres a shine inside.

There is a slight chance I've got this wrong, it may in fact be
a blue coin. But I can't remember if there are 17 or 18 Shines
in the Plaza. If this isn't a shine, you ARE NOT missing one.
I've just counted wrong :)

Shine 16
--------
On the same island as the green pipe for Shine 14, there is a
Gold Bird flying around. Keep spraying it with water and it
becomes a shine.

Shine 17
--------
Collect 100 coins in the Plaza. Make sure you explore all the
sewers, it's easy.

Shine 18
--------
Defeat the final game boss.

Thats it, if anythings is wrong or missing feel free to anounce
my stupidity in the Nintendo Forum.

This guide should help you to get every shine in the fantastic Super Mario Sunshine. I won’t go over any cut-scenes because I don’t want to spoil the story; I’ll just stick with guiding you on how to get each of the 120 shines to fully complete this huge game.
It is a big game so I’ve tried to put it in a sensible order so even if you aren’t following it through entirely, you can find help for the area you are stuck on. It’s probably best not to follow the exact order I’ve put the shines in because you’ll end up with some really tough shines very early on, mix and match how you please.

CONTENTS
General tips
Delfino Plaza – One shine in all
Bianca Hills – Eleven shines in all
Ricco Harbour – Eleven shines in all
Gelato Beach - Eleven shines in all
Pinna Park - Eleven shines in all
Sirena Beach - Eleven shines in all
Noki Bay - Eleven shines in all
Pianta Village - Eleven shines in all
Delfino Plaza (+ Bowser) – Eighteen shines in all
Blue coins – Twenty-four shines in all

So let’s get started…

GENERAL TIPS:
Save regularly
Keep FLUDD full at all times
Don’t give up
Pick up blue coins whenever you see them

DELFINO AIRPORT

Wait for the cut-scene to finish.
Near the end of the runway, you should see a chubby, yellow figure standing besides an odd looking piece of machinery. This piece of machinery is the FLUDD contraption; a device that allows Mario to squirt water at his enemies and the whole game is based around it. Walk up to it and after a simple tutorial that teaches you how to use it, it will be yours to keep.
You should also notice that the runway is covered in a pink/orange mess. Walk up to it and a Piranha Plant will appear.
Shine #1: Spray water at the Piranha Plant and remember that you can use the ‘Y’ button to aim more precisely. It shouldn’t be long before the Piranha Plant dies and spits out your very first shine.

DELFINO PLAZA

After watching another cut-scene, make your way into the town centre. Talk to Peach and Toad and then destroy another Piranha Plant in the same manner as before. This will cause Shadow Mario to appear and take Peach. Chase him around town and squirt him (not the mess he leaves behind) with FLUDD. After a short while he’ll drop Peach and escape via a portal on a statue that appeared in the same area where you just defeated a Piranha Plant. Squirt the portal with water and you’ll have opened the first level.

BIANCA HILLS

Episode 1 (Shine #2): Follow the path down the hill and turn right. Don’t worry if you fall in the water, Mario can easily jump out or use the hover nozzle to gain extra height. Use the water wheel to get over the wall and you’ll see lots of brown muck. It’s another Piranha Plant, so kill it in the same way as the others and you’ll gain another shine.

Episode 2 (Shine #3): Enter the portal once more and go back to where you defeated the Piranha Plant. This time make your way up to the top of the Windmill and remember to use the hover nozzle to get across large gaps. Stand on one of the platforms on the windmill to be carried to the very top. You’ll fall inside the windmill once you reach the top and you’ll be faced with a giant Piranha Plant (it’s the last one for a while, honest). The method for killing this one is slightly different. Each time it opens its mouth, spray as much water as you can into it. When it falls over, jump on to its stomach and do a ‘ground pound’ (A+L). Repeat until it dies and the shine is yours.

NOTE: You can now access the second level, Ricco Harbour, however I recommend that you complete this level first.

Episode 3 (Shine #4): Once again, make your way over to where you defeated the Piranha Plant. This time, go towards the lake and jump on to the tightrope. Slowly make your way across and jump onto the platform at the end. Use the hover nozzle to get across all of the platforms and on to the bank. Make your way up to the next tightrope and follow that along to the cave entrance.
Inside you’ll be stripped of FLUDD in an odd looking mess of wooden blocks. You’ll have to use your top jumping skills to safely make it across to the other side. The route is obvious, it’s all down to whether you have the skill to make it across to obtain the shine and reclaim FLUDD.

NOTE: A third level is now available, Gelato Beach. Once again I’d recommend that you complete Bianca Hills first.

Episode 4 (Shine #5): This time, when you reach the bottom of the slope, turn left into the built up area of the level. Here, you must collect eight red coins that are scattered around. They can be found on tightropes and roofs of houses. Make your way up to the highest levels to find all of them and stop at certain points to have a quick look around. Very simple. Collect them all to earn a shine.

Episode 5 (Shine #6): Back to fighting Piranha Plants now. Make your way towards the left at the bottom of the slope and head towards the muddy cliff. Climb up it using your jumping abilities and the hover nozzle, clearing the mess as you go. At the top, little pink creatures will attach themselves to your FLUDD. Fill them up by pressing ‘R’ and aim at the Piranha Plant. A couple of hits will cause the Plant to fly around the village area below. Follow it and try to squirt it with water. When he lands, fill his mouth with water and use the power bounce (as you did in episode 2) and repeat until dead and the shine will be yours.

NOTE: Another level is now available but as I’ve said before, don’t go yet.

Episode 6 (Shine #7): Another one of the obstacle course for you now, but this time much harder. Make your way to the lake on the right hand side of the level. This time you will be hurt if you fall in so be careful. Follow the arrows that will guide you on your way and use the FLUDD as a propeller for the lily pad and jump into the cave. This course is much harder than before. The blocks move in a set order so spend a bit of time learning how they move. When you reach the blue wall you’ll have to do a wall jump. Basically, this is jumping into the wall and as you hit it press jump again. Complete to earn a shine.

Episode 7 (Shine #8): A chance to chase Shadow Mario once more. As before, chase him around and spray him when you can. Remember that Mario runs faster when he isn’t spraying water so close in on Shadow Mario before you start spraying him. After a while he’ll drop a shine for you.

Episode 8 (Shine #9): This is like episode 4 but harder. Head to the right hand side of the level again and you’ll have to find 8 more red coins. They are generally high up on tightropes but some are on ground level, look everywhere. A shine will appear once you find all of them.

Episode 3/Bonus 1 (Shine #10): Make your way back into episode 3 and re-enter the cave. You’ll have to redo the obstacle, this time with FLUDD but there is a time limit and you have to get 8 red coins whilst making it across. This is extremely difficult and you may want to come back to it at a later date when you are better at the game.

Episode 6/Bonus 2 (Shine #11): Once again, return to the obstacle course and collect the 8 red coins. This is even harder than the previous shine and there is a very tight time limit. Don’t try to be too accurate, ride your luck by making jumps that seem impossible because it’s the only way to successfully complete this.

Any Episode (Shine #12): This can be done in any episode but episode 8 is probably the best chance. Your challenge is to find 100 gold coins. That is much easier than it sounds because there are well over that amount available. A handy tip is to spray the orange propeller plants into walls causing them to give you three coins instead of the single coin that you’d get for jumping on them.

That’s Bianca Hills done (for now).

DELFINO PLAZA

Now it’s time to enter a new level, Ricco Harbour. Make your way over to the small pier where there is another Piranha Plant that is easily defeated by simple spraying. A small hut will appear afterwards. This will come in handy later in the game for trading in blue coins but I’ll go in to depth with that later. For now, spray the ‘M’ portal on the back of the hut and get ready for some more shine collecting.

RICCO HARBOUR

Episode 1 (Shine #13): This is a fairly tough one to start the level with. Arrows show you where to go, follow them and climb on to the cage. Run and jump over to the far side of it and make your way down on to the concrete area where there is a stack of coloured crates, one of which has a tentacle sticking out of it. Grab the tentacle (press and hold ‘B’) and then pull it back. King Calamari will appear and defeating him will earn you a shine. He will swing his tentacles around so dodge them and when they hit the ground hold on to one and pull it back until it stretches too far and snaps back, hitting King Calamari in the face. This will stun him so run up to his face and pull on the cork in his mouth until it snaps. Repeat until he dies and the shine is yours.

Episode 2 (Shine #14): Follow the arrows to the man standing next to the three squids. He will allow you to take one for a ride, I think they are all the same in speed, handling, etc. so it doesn’t matter which you pick. Take your squid through the trail of coins and into the cave. If you’ve already crashed you are in trouble. You have to get around an obstacle course in below 45 seconds. This isn’t too hard if you’re careful and don’t go crazy around corners. You’ll get a shine at the end of the track.

Episode 3 (Shine #15): This is a complex shine to acquire. You should see a structure of girders and cages in front of you when you enter the level. You have to make your way through that to gain your shine. Start by following the arrows until you reach the small boat. From here, jump on to the striped pole and on to the girder, then climb up the fence and go through the blue gate. Make your way on to the next striped pole that moves and will drop you off on a metal fence. It is basically the same sort of thing from there on. When you reach the thin, blue girder near the top, run across it and jump onto a horizontal cage with a red border where you’ll find the rocket attachment for FLUDD. You’ll only be able to use that attachment until you leave the level. Be wary of the wind creatures that attempt to blow you off and use the rocket to jump up to the highest girders. Look for the yellow, caged funnel and jump into it and there you’ll find your prize.

NOTE: Time for another level to open up. A submarine will appear in the water but stay away from it for now.

Episode 4 (Shine #16): Make your way towards the tower surrounded by scaffolding. You can try to climb up here but it is far simpler if you back and get the rocket nozzle, but it’s your choice. Once you reach the top, jump in and get ready for another of those obstacle courses. This is a reasonably simple course and you should complete it in only a few attempts. There is an extra life around half way through. Complete for a shine.

Episode 5 (Shine #17): Another battle with our friend King Calamari. This time, make your way across the sea to the logs beneath the helipad. Use the nearby rocket nozzle to grab the fence above. Go through the hatch and you’ll appear on the helipad. You fight King Calamari in almost exactly the same way except you must first wash the brown gunk off his face.

Episode 6 (Shine #18): Go back to the squids and pick your racer. The challenge is to get 8 red coins hidden around the bay in a set time limit without falling off your squid. The coins are easy to see but you have to move fast to do it in time but you’ll soon find a quick and (fairly) safe route around the course. Once you’ve completed it you must make your way back to the dock for the shine. Be careful when you dismount your squid because it is possible to land in the water and that counts as a crash, causing you to restart the level.

Episode 7 (Shine #19): As in Bianca Hills, chase Shadow Mario and spray him until he drops a shine for you. Simple.

NOTE: Move on to shine #21 if you have not unlocked Yoshi, which you won’t have if you’ve been following this guide.

Episode 8 (Shine #20): This is a tough one and your first challenge for Yoshi. Go to the market area where a Yoshi egg will be waiting for you. There are two brick fruit machines to the left and use them to get the fruit that Yoshi is hungry for. Do this by using the rocket nozzle to jump on top and then power bounce the plungers. Do this to alternate machines until the required fruit appears. Get Yoshi to spray juice at the fish that jump out of the sea. Jump on to the platform (which can be slippery) and continue doing that until you reach the shine. Yoshi is harder to control than Mario so it may take a few attempts. There is gap in the cliff to the right hand side at one point where you can replenish Yoshi’s juice.

Episode 2/Bonus 1 (Shine #21): Back to the squid race only this time you have to do it in under 40 seconds. You’ll have to go faster around corners and handle your squid to perfection.

Episode 4/Bonus 2 (Shine #22): Head back in to the obstacle course. It’s another case of getting the red coins in the allotted time limit and it’s rock solid to complete.

Any Episode (Shine #23): Once again, you have to get 100 gold coins and episode 8 is probably the best choice. Look underwater, on top of girders and kill all enemies and you should do it easily.

And that’s the final shine you’ll be getting in Ricco Harbour.

DELFINO PLAZA

Now make your way over to the beach where you’ll find yet another Piranha Plant to slay before you can enter the next portal. Simply spray the mess on the side of the lighthouse that appears and jump in to spend some time at Gelato Beach.

GELATO BEACH

Episode 1 (Shine #24): An obstacle course is here for us to start this level off. On the beach, near to where you start, there is a small green plant sticking out of the ground. Water it until a sandcastle appears near by. Enter the sandcastle to attempt the obstacle course. It is a fairly easy course and at the end climb the steps quickly because they will disintegrate. The shine is at the top of the steps.

Episode 2 (Shine #25): This is quite a long one to get. Climb up a palm tree near the circular mirrors that are straight in front of you when you start. Jump on to the mirror with just the one orange creature on and spray him to one side of the mirror. Then, quickly make your way to the opposite side of the mirror and do a power bounce causing the creature to be propelled into the air. Repeat this on the following mirrors (there are three in all) and the shine will appear on the beach for you.

Episode 3 (Shine #26): In episode 2 you woke Wiggler the giant caterpillar from his deep sleep. Now you have to defeat him for a shine. As he runs around the beach, avoid him and spray the green plants causing sandcastles to appear and knock him over. When he falls, jump on to him and do a power bounce where the arrow indicates. Repeat until dead.

Episode 4 (Shine #27): Make your way past the mirrors to the far side of the level and behind the tower there is a small alcove. In it, there is a small green plant. Water it and a staircase will appear so climb it and follow the trail of coins up to the top and then take the smaller staircase down towards a muddy path. Slide down this muddy path and if you’re lucky you’ll land on a trampoline and bounce straight into the top of the tower structure. It is not guaranteed that you’ll land correctly so this may take a couple of attempts. Once inside, you’ll find yourself on a giant bird made of sand, coated in seven red coins. Most of them are on the birds back so quickly collect them before the bird spins over for you to collect the coins on it’s front. It will then glide past a tower where an eighth coin lies. If you got all of them the shine will be yours.

Episode 5 (Shine #28): On the beach you will see a small purple figure, he is II Piantissimo and he wants to race you. Don’t talk to him yet. Get on to the roof of the beach hut and use the hover nozzle to get on to the ledge to the right. Here is a rocket nozzle, pick it up and talk to II Piantissimo. Run forward and use the rocket to boost up to the area with the mirrors and run over to the alcove visited in episode 2. From here boost up to the grassy slope and the run up to the flag pole and you should have easily won. The shine is yours.

Episode 6 (Shine #29): A nice and easy shine now. Head left and enter the coral reef in the sea behind the hut. There are 8 red coins to find but most of them are pretty obvious to find. Some move behind rocks but they will always reappear soon after.

Episode 7 (Shine #30): It’s episode 7, therefore it’s time to chase shadow Mario around. He is quite agile so it may take longer than previous battles but it’s still pretty simple. Beat him for another shine.

Episode 8 (Shine #31): Make your way up to the top of the mountain where the flag was to signal the end of the race with II Piantissimo. There you will find a giant watermelon and you have to roll it all the way down to the hut by the coral reef. If it hits a wall it will explode and the same is true for if it gets attacked, falls to far, goes too fast, it’s very fragile. This means you’ll have to take the longer route down the stairs and on the beach it’s a good idea to kill the sand creatures before hand. At the hut you will have to roll it across the small bridge before you get your shine. Be careful, this is one of the easiest places to lose the watermelon.

Episode 1/Bonus 1 (Shine #32): Go back into the sandcastle for another round of collecting red coins. It’s tough but keep at it and you’ll complete it eventually.

Episode 2/Bonus 2 (Shine #33): Go to the area with the small alcove from episode 4 and near it there is another small plant. Water it until a set of stairs appears. Quickly run down and spray the wall to show the entire shine picture. You have to be fast but you can have unlimited tries. Once you’ve done it, another shine will become available.

Any Episode (Shine #34): As you may have guessed, it’s time to collect 100 gold coins. Episode 8 is once more your best bet because there are plenty of enemies and each time the watermelons burst you’ll get coins for that (it can only be done a certain number of times though). It will be tight but it is possible to find them all, search everywhere.

Congratulations, that’s the end of Gelato Beach.

DELFINO PLAZA

Now it’s time to go to the submarine that I warned you to stay away from previously. Walking up to it triggers a cut scene. After it, jump in to the nearby red turret to be fired to the next level, Pinna Park.

PINNA PARK

Episode 1 (Shine #35): Follow Shadow Mario into the park and watch the cut scene. Afterwards, you’ll appear in a roller coaster carriage. It moves automatically, you control the gun. As you ride across you will pick up rockets and you have to fire them at Mecha-Bowser who will be firing missiles at you as you go. Deflect them with FLUDD. You will only go over the course three times so be quick and use the missiles wisely. If you hit him enough times you he will set on fire and the shine will be yours.

Episode 2 (Shine #36): Turn right at the entrance and run towards the turret where a gerbil is firing bombs at you. Spray the bombs and they will turn blue so pick them up and throw them towards the gerbil. Do this three times and then climb into the turret. Here is another obstacle course but it’s a fairly simple one so it should cause no problems and the shine should quickly be yours.

NOTE: If you have collected every shine up to this point (except episode 8 in Ricco Harbour) then you will see a cut scene when you leave Pinna Park. In it, Shadow Mario will appear and it will be another case of chasing him around town. Chances are that you won’t have the full 35 shines at this point so just carry on to the next Pinna Park section and come back to this later but for those that are ready…

DELFINO PLAZA

Shadow Mario will steal the Yoshi egg and you have to chase him and squirt him as you have done many times before. Once he’s defeated, Yoshi will be available for use so now is a good time to go back to Ricco Harbour so you can complete the level fully.

Shadow Mario will also run around with the propeller and rocket nozzles so they will be easily available to you in all areas. Once again you have to defeat Shadow Mario but you know the drill by now. Unlocking Yoshi and the extra nozzles opens up a load of new areas but for now we’ll head back to Pinna Park.

PINNA PARK

Episode 3 (Shine #37): Now we get a chance to see some more of Pinna Park. Go to the area with the rides in it, the pirate ship, the big wheel, etc. Start at the pirate ship steps and work your way around on to the pirate ship across the metal grates until you have a full collection. Attack the creatures on the grates when you’re on the opposite side, either by a power bounce or press ‘A’ when you’re beneath them. The shine will appear at the top of the ride when you’re finished.

Episode 4 (Shine #38): Go back to the beach from episode 2 and you’ll see what look like giant Yoshi eggs. Walk up to one and you’ll discover that it’s actually a turtle. Dodge the turtle until it pounces at you and falls on its back allowing you to power bounce its stomach. Repeat this procedure on all of the turtles and the shine will be yours.

Episode 5 (Shine #39): Make your way over to the big wheel in the park and go behind it. It will take a few attempts to climb the metal grates that can be found at the back. Some of them have red panels on them; spray these to make the panels move so that you can continue. At the top, punch the large creature off the grate and jump into one of the big wheel carriages. It’s an easy part to mess up so be careful. When the big wheel has carried you to the highest point, jump out and claim your shine.

Episode 6 (Shine #40): This is another Yoshi level. You should have unlocked him by now but if you haven’t, move on to shine #43. Yoshi will be waiting by the stumpy tree in the middle of the park. The tree by the big wheel will have the fruit needed for Yoshi to wake up. Yoshi should turn orange, take him to the carousel and jump on. Mario will warp into another obstacle course and it’s a fairly frustrating one but practice makes perfect.

Episode 7 (Shine #41): Care to guess what you have to do here? That’s right, it’s chase Shadow Mario time! You know the drill by now so I’m not going to bother explaining.

Episode 8 (Shine #42): Back to the roller coaster for a twenty balloon, limited ammo challenge with just three laps of the course to do it in. This will take a couple of attempts so that you can learn the lay out but remember not to waste your ammo but be quick.

Episode 2/Bonus 1 (Shine #43): Head back into the obstacle course and collect the 8 red coins in the time limit. This one is fairly easy so it shouldn’t cause too many problems.

Episode 6/Bonus 2 (Shine #44): Once more, make your way back to the obstacle course but this one is much harder than shine #43. All you can do is keep on trying.

Any Episode (Shine #45): It’s time to get the 100 coins but surprisingly it is episode 2 that is best, not episode 8. Simply shoot the bombs that are thrown towards you by the gerbil and as long as you destroy them before they hit the ground you’ll get two coins per bomb. Occasionally, gold bombs are thrown which are worth eight coins each. Bombs are continually thrown so it is possible to earn 999 coins on this level.

So that’s four levels down already. Now we’ll mosey on down to Sirena Beach.

DELFINO PLAZA

Find the Yoshi egg that is around town and find the food that he wants. It could be anything but all of the fruits are easy to find if you look on all the stalls. Take Yoshi to the roof of the domed building opposite the statue that leads to Bianca Hills. You can get up there using trampolines and Yoshi does have a big jump. Once up there, eat the pineapple to reveal a red warp pipe. This is the entrance to Sirena Beach.

SIRENA BEACH

Episode 1 (Shine #46): This is a fairly boring level but it has to be done. Clear the mess off the beach using FLUDD, there is quite a bit to clear but once you’ve done it go and talk to the hotel owner who is standing by a square pool of green/yellow muck. A huge manta ray shadow will appear and you’ll have to defeat it by spraying it with your FLUDD. As you attack it, it will split up into smaller rays and so on for a long time. This challenge takes longer than any other in the game and you may think you’ve completed it when there is in fact a small ray hiding in a corner of the beach so look everywhere. Once all of the rays are defeated the shine will appear for you.

Episode 2 (Shine #47): Go up to the northern area of the level where there will now be a big hotel. Ask the owner to enter and he will happily oblige. Inside there are many, many boos, some pink and some white. Jump on the white ones to kill them and then spray the pink boos to form a set of steps. Climb up and jump off at the first opportunity onto a balcony. Defeat the white boos and then continue upwards where you’ll see a golden boo statue. Jump inside and prepare for another obstacle course. It’s reasonably simple so it shouldn’t take more than three or four attempts. Complete it for a shine.

Episode 3 (Shine #48): Quite a long-winded shine to get here so start by entering the hotel. Sitting by the bar is our friend Yoshi and there is no excuse for having not unlocked him by now so if you haven’t, go back and gain the shines you have missed out up to this point. Back to getting this shine though, enter the toilets, which are to the left and jump through the wet patch on the wall. You’ll end up in another room with a painting on the wall. Spray it and jump through when the picture turns into a Boo. The next room has four wooden panels with different parts of a Boo picture on them. These must be sprayed to make the full picture visible. Go through in to the next room and spray the pink Boos so that you can get up to the hole in the roof. Jump through the hole and power bounce the loose floor tile (it’s pretty obvious which tile is loose). You’ll land on a crate that breaks and reveals the fruit that you need for Yoshi. Take the fruit to Yoshi and then ride Yoshi up to the third floor of the hotel. There is an open door, go through it and bounce on the bed and through the roof into the attic. Make Yoshi eat the sleeping Boos and work your way around the maze until you reach a rectangular section with a thin layer of water. Do a power bounce and you’ll find yourself in the spa. Now all you have to do is grab the shine.

Episode 4 (Shine #49): Back into the hotel and talk to the bouncer standing outside the casino. Inside, go over to the slot machines and spray them until they produce the number seven. Another game will now be available and all you have to do is spray the squares to form a picture of a shine. This will reveal a warp pipe that leads to yet another obstacle course. Pretty simple and it should cause you little trouble.

Episode 5 (Shine #50): We’re doing well, already we’re at the 50th shine and it’s a nice episode to earn it on, a battle with King Boo. Head back into the casino and power bounce the purple square on the roulette wheel. Now the fight begins. He will spit out various fruits and vegetables at you; you want the red chilli peppers. Find one and throw it in to his mouth and then throw any other piece of fruit into him when his mouth sets on fire. Repeat until dead to earn yourself a shine.

Episode 6 (Shine #51): You have just three minutes to clear the whole area of the green/yellow mess. That’s not just the beach, it’s the whole of the outside area but you don’t need to clear 100%, just around 95%! Run around whilst holding down ‘R’ and try not to go over the same areas twice and you should be fine. When the clock freezes you know you’ve cleared enough mess so go and talk to the bloke standing on the sand and he’ll give you a shine.

Episode 7 (Shine #52): Shockingly, it’s time to chase Shadow Mario once more. You have to chase him around the hotel and it’s simple as always. The Boos will try to trick you by turning into imitations of Shadow Mario but you should be able to tell which is the real one.

Episode 8 (Shine #53): To end this level there is a red coin hunt. Enter the hotel and press the red switch and this will give you five minutes to find the coins in. Most of the coins are along the same route that you followed during episode 3 and the remaining coins are mostly in rooms that you won’t have been in yet. You should do this with plenty of time to spare.

Episode 2/Bonus 1 (Shine #54): Pop back to the obstacle course for a bit of red coin collecting. It’s not easy but have faith (and a few extra lives) and you’ll do it in the end.

Episode 4/Bonus 2 (Shine #55): More red coin hunting, this time in the obstacle course within the casino. This is a tough one and all I can say is good luck.

Any Episode (Shine #56): Episode 4 is the best for this 100 gold coin collection. Firstly, get all of the coins outside by smashing crates and watering the torches. It’s even possible to get some from watering the floor at various places but don’t worry about those. Go in to the hotel and the casino has loads of coins available for you by power bouncing slot machines, etc. Remember that once you enter the hotel you are stuck in the hotel.

And so another level bites the dust. Next stop, Noki Bay.

DELFINO PLAZA

You need to get to the area of town with the square stretch of water where the barge stops and where the huge shine statue is. You will see a cylindrical beam of light shining down onto a shine picture. Stand in it and make Mario look straight up into the sun. You will be teleported to Noki Bay.

NOKI BAY

Episode 1 (Shine #57): The water will hurt you so it’s a good idea not to fall in it. Use the stepping-stones to reach the man by the staircase and talk to him. You have to get into the basket and spray water into the cracked vase so you rise upwards. Spray the mess on the floor and walls to clear a path and form a staircase. Climb up and use your top wall jumping skills to reach the highest level where our gerbil mate from Pinna Park will be waiting. Kill him as you did back then and then you’ll fall to the bottom. Climb back up and grab the shine that appears where the gerbil was.

Episode 2 (Shine #58): Guess who’s back for another beating. It’s King Calamari, everybody’s favourite giant squid. The old man that you talked to previously will guide you to a brown square so spray it and then use the wall jump technique to reach the next level, be quick though. Repeat this until you reach the highest level where the battle awaits you. Defeat him as you did previously and then jump into the cave in the floor where the shine is waiting for you.

Episode 3 (Shine #59): Talk to the old man again and he’ll give you a nice new helmet to spend longer underwater with. Mario will dive into a glass bottle (don’t ask) and inside there are 8 red coins to collect. It’s pretty simple and remember that the hover nozzle is much more powerful underwater and gold coins replenish your air supply.

Episode 4 (Shine #60): Believe it or not, start by talking to a man just in front of you. Get back to the area of the cliff where the gerbil was in the first episode and talk to the old man standing there before diving into the waterfall. Your job is to clean the teeth of the big monster at the bottom of the sea. You do this by spraying them with FLUDD and as in the previous episode you use gold coins to replenish your health. Simple really.

Episode 5 (Shine #61): This episode sees the return of II Piantissimo but this race is much simpler than the previous one. In fact it’s stupidly easy. Just talk to II Piantissimo and then make a dash for the finish. Head straight to it rather than taking the long route that II Piantissimo chooses. It’s almost impossible to lose. Maybe they made this one so easy because the next one is so hard…

Episode 6 (Shine #62): You have to make your way up to the red/purple shell that is high up in the sky. Do this by bouncing on the tightropes that are in between the shells and jump over any enemies that attempt to ram into you. Jump inside the shell to enter another obstacle course. This is a tough one with many twisting and turning blocks that need perfect jumps. There are harder ones to come though so stick with it.

Episode 7 (Shine #63): As you may have guessed, this is yet another run around with Shadow Mario but why complain, it’s an easy shine. Just chase and shoot as you’ve done so many times before.

Episode 8 (Shine #64): Hop back into the waterfall for some more red coin collecting. You will see a fish made of coins, gold and red. It moves about so getting the coins can be tricky and it also splits up occasionally making it even more confusing because there are some red and yellow fish as well. As always, use gold coins to replenish your health and collect the red coins to get the shine.

Any Episode/Bonus 1 (Shine #65): It really doesn’t matter which episode you pick for this but episode 2 isn’t the best idea. Head up to the area where you fought King Calamari and then spot the area with just the one palm tree. Make your way over to it; you’ll know if it’s the right one because a gold bird will be flying around. Spray this gold bird and it will drop a shine for you.

Episode 6/Bonus 2 (Shine #66): I think you know what to do. Go into the shell for a red coin gathering exercise. This is tough but it’s only fair considering the last one was so easy. Remember that you have FLUDD this time and the hover nozzle will be priceless to do it in time.

Any Episode (Shine #67): Get 100 gold coins. Episodes 2 and 8 are both good for this. ‘2’ is probably easiest with many coins on the water’s surface and in alcoves in the walls, up the cliff and on the tightropes.

And so another level is complete and we are ready to move on to the final level. Yes, despite the fact that we’ve only collected 67 shines we’re moving onto the last area already but the reason will become clear soon.

DELFINO PLAZA

The next stop, Pianta Village, is found high up so collect the rocket nozzle from town. Go to the Noki Bay entrance and stand next to the arch with the shine in it and boost yourself up to the top where there is a red warp pipe. Enter it for our final level.

PIANTA VILLAGE

Episode 1 (Shine #68): You enter Pianta Village and it’s a lava filled mess. You should also notice three chain chomps making there way through the village. Your task is to get them all in the river, but it’s easier than it sounds. Walk up to one and douse it with water. Then run behind it and pull back on its tail like you did with King Calamari’s tentacles. You have to aim for the river so if possible it’s best to spray the water on the chain chomp when it’s near the water. Do this to all three and a shine will appear for you.

Episode 2 (Shine #69): It’s time for the third and final race with II Piantissimo. This one is harder than the previous one and you’ll have to do a back flip at one point that is easy to make a mess of. As you run, spray the ground in front of you and then dive and slide into it to speed your self up. The flag is at the top of a bent palm tree,

Episode 3 (Shine #70): This one is difficult. The whole level is drenched in lava once more but you are without FLUDD. Walk to the right hand side of the level where you’ll come across a hole in the ground. Jump down and do a power bounce to find your self in an underground maze of metal grates. Turn left and keep going until you see a square fence blocking your path. Punch it and just before it stops moving, jump and go past the yellow crab-like creature and you should see a panel above you. Punch it and then wall jump your way up to the next level but be careful, you don’t want to land on the lava but there is just enough room on the ledge for Mario to be able to stand up. Now side jump on to the nearby wall; this is the trickiest bit so if you do that you should be able to do the rest (quite) easily. Do another jump to reach the area with the fruit tree. Do a further jump to get your self over to the bridge and then get Mario to edge along the left hand side of it. Keep edging along until your inline with the wooden structure and then carefully jump onto the structure, jump to the top of it, and reclaim FLUDD! But there’s still more to do. Take a second to spot the golden mushroom and then find a route to get to it and remember that you have FLUDD now so you can wipe away the lava. When you get near to the golden mushroom, wash the man standing on top of it and he’ll reward you with a shine. That wasn’t too hard was it?

NOTE: If you have 70 shines, which you will have if you’ve been following this properly, then the entrance to Bowser’s lair will be open but we’re not going there yet.

Episode 4 (Shine #71): This is fairly simple. Walk up to the big chain chomp and spray it with water. Grab it’s chain and shoot it off to the back of the level where there is a space to lodge him in. It will take more than one throw so keep at it until it gets stuck at the back. Wash it off again and a shine will appear. It is safe to stand on top of the chain chomp to claim your prize.

Episode 5 (Shine #72): This is a very tough one and you’ll need Yoshi for it. The fruit tree is in the centre of town so go to it and get Yoshi his desired fruit. Take Yoshi back to the entrance to the level and jump down to the right where there are a lot of colourful mushrooms. If you fall, the game sometimes has a glitch where you’ll fall down a bottomless pit and you’ll have turn your Gamecube off, but let’s get back to getting this shine. You have to take Yoshi across the mushrooms and this is a very hard thing to do considering Yoshi’s feet appear to be made of ice. When you do get to the end, spray the yellow gunk with Yoshi’s juice to reveal a warp pipe, not a shine, a warp pipe. Go down the pipe to be presented with an obstacle course. The makers aren’t totally heartless though, this isn’t too difficult and there is an easy to reach extra life at one point. This is a different type of course though; you have to get the village people (not the band) to throw you on to the different ledges. Each of the people throw in different a direction and with a different amount of power so it will take lots and lots and lots of practice. God bless the extra life. Complete for a well-deserved shine.

Episode 6 (Shine #73): Talk to the villager and you’ll be given three minutes to wash ten dirty villagers. This is stupidly easy, just follow the path around the village and wash the villagers as you see them. You’ll know they’re fully clean because they’ll sparkle. You should do it with plenty of time to spare.

Episode 7 (Shine #74): So we’ve made it to episode 7 and we all know what that means, chase Shadow Mario. You know what to do in this, the final chase with Shadow Mario. Yes, this is the last time you’ll have to do it. Doesn’t it bring a tear to your eye?

Episode 8 (Shine #75): A hunt for those eight red coins again and this time they are all over the village. There are some below the town and a few on the tops of trees. Look behind everything, including the tree at the back of the level, and check the whole of the level but you do not need to go down to the mushroom area that you visited with Yoshi in episode 5. Once you have the red coins, the shine will appear on top of the large tree in the centre of the village. It’s fairly easy to climb the tree with a few back flips here and there as well as the need for the hover and rocket nozzles.

Episode 5/Bonus 1 (Shine #76): You have to make it back into the obstacle course because the makers hate you. Once in there you have to collect the red coins within the time limit. This is stupidly, stupidly difficult. I don’t know how to help other than to say make sure you have a spare two hours to do it in.

Episode 8/Bonus 2 (Shine #77): Get back up that tree and look straight into the sun. Spray water into it and a picture of a shine will appear like the one on Gelato Beach. When you produce the full picture the shine is yours.

Any Episode (Shine #78): It’s that time again; get 100 gold coins. Episodes 1 and 5 are both good choices. On episode 5, use Yoshi to eat everything to get coins and on episode 1 spray the mushrooms with fire on top and then power bounce them to get more coins. In both you can hit the nose in the water bath to receive many coins. Others should be obvious.

So that’s it. You’ve got all the shines from all the levels. Well actually you don’t, in fact you are only 65% complete. There are still 42 shines to collect so let’s get back to Delfino Plaza for a bit more shine collecting.

DELFINO PLAZA

If you haven’t been following this walkthrough to the letter then you’re bound to have some of the shines from out here already but there are 18 to get through so let’s get started.

The best place to start is probably with Bowser just to get him out of the way with, so get back to the area with the huge shine statue and take the rocket nozzle with you. Behind the statue is a ledge and a cave is on it. Boost up there and enter the cave, this is Corona Mountain. Use FLUDD to put out the fires (which will relight if you are too slow) and be careful not to land on the spikes on the metal platforms. When you reach the boat, use FLUDD to steer the boat and make sure you do not hit the walls. You’ll come up to a small island where a rocket nozzle will be waiting for you. Grab it and boost up through the clouds but take your time because you don’t want to fall into the lava below. Once you reach the top, Bowser will be waiting.

Shine #79: You’re on the rim of a huge bathtub with Bowser and son swimming inside. Bowser will attack you either with his flamethrower or by creating a huge splash. Just run away from the flames and jump over the shock waves from the splash. His son will fire bullet bills at you so just run away from them. You have to destroy the four octagon shaped pads at the corners of the tub. This is done by spraying them with water and then doing a power bounce on them. As you destroy each pad the bath will crumble and the attacks will become more frequent making it difficult to reach the next pad. Overall, this isn’t a tough boss. Destroy all the pads for another shine.

After watching the end video and the credits you’ll be back in Delfino Plaza with another few hours of work to do to get the remaining 41 shines.

Shine #80: We’ll start with a tough one. Get the rocket nozzle and get on to the boat in the area with the shine statue. As it passes under the bridge, use the rocket nozzle to jump up into the warp pipe. Welcome to the pinball obstacle course. Use the rocket to fire Mario up the ball shoot and the idea is to collect the eight red coins. You can go up the ball shoot as many times as you wish, but if you fall out at the bottom then you’ll have to start again. This is very difficult but remember to use the hover nozzle to gain a bit of control.

Shine #81: Get the turbo nozzle (from the grey box) and find the police station. It’s easy to spot because it’s a huge building guarded by two Piantas wearing policemen uniforms, one blue and one yellow. The door is like a Wild West saloon double door. Mario can break through this by charging through with the turbo nozzle. Behind it, an obstacle course awaits. This is a fairly simple course in which you have to use the turbo nozzle to charge up ramps and on to far away platforms. Aim yourself up properly before each ramp and press jump at the end of each ramp to gain extra distance. Also, you should jump on the final platform to get the shine as soon as you land because otherwise you’ll fly off the end shine less.

Shine #82: Head to the beach and look for a small island with a fire on it. Swim over to this island and look for a golden bird flying around. As you did in Noki Bay, spray the bird for an easy shine.

Shine #83: Once more we must return to the shine statue and this time look for a large house with umbrellas outside and an open door. The toads may be waiting outside it too. Enter the house and talk to the man and he will challenge you to smash all of the crates in the room in 30 seconds. This is easy to do using the power bounce and hit the crates on the edges and try to break two at once.

Shine #84: Return to the hut from the previous shine and you’ll be able to play the crate smashing game again but this time it is much harder. Start with the high up crates and you have to smash two at once to do it in time. It may take a few attempts.

Shine #85: There is a man sitting on a roof next to a cockerel wind direction thing, opposite the pipe leading to Sirena Beach. Get to him using the rocket nozzle and talk to him. He will throw you into a tower and a shine will be waiting for you there.

Shine #86: Head to the lighthouse, the entrance to Gelato Beach, and look out to sea for the cylindrical rock formations. There is a green warp pipe on the furthest one out so hover over to it and enter it for another obstacle course. It is a big slope that you have to guide Mario to the end of (there is a simpler version in the snow level of Mario 64) for the shine.

Shine #87: I think it’s time for our final 100 gold coin hunt. Delfino Plaza has many gold coins so this is simple. Go down the manholes and collect the coins in the sewers, spray shop signs and windows, search the shallow water and you can even return to the Airport now that we’ve beaten Bowser. To do this, go to the man standing by a boat on a grey pier. Pay him 10 gold coins for the privilege. The shine will appear back in Delfino Plaza and you’ll need to take a boat ride to collect it.

Shine #88: Get the turbo nozzle and at the base of one of the bell towers are some more Wild West style doors. Turbo through for a simple shine without the hassle of an obstacle course.

Shine #89: Get the rocket nozzle and return to the lighthouse. Two boosts will get you to the roof of the lighthouse. Once you reach the roof, do another boost and at the highest point press ‘L’ to do an ultimate power bounce and break the rock releasing a shine. One more rocket boost will allow you to reach the shine.

Shine #90: Return once more to the shine statue and on this occasion we’ll give it a good wash. Use the rocket nozzle to climb either to the small ledge in front of the shine or to the grassy area in front of the cave entrance. Then simply spray the shine until it is totally clean and reveals another shine. You’ll have to boost up to the roof of the statue to gain the shine.

Shine #91: Take the boat back to the Airport for a final time. There is a red switch here, grab the turbo nozzle and then press it. You must collect the eight red coins in the time limit. Use the turbo nozzle to break the Wild West doors, get the coins on the concrete area and then, using the turbo nozzle, quickly swim through the water collecting the remaining coins as you go (they are all near the coast line).

Shine #92: Head back towards the lighthouse and stand by the purple and green Piantas. Look towards the lighthouse and spray the ground. A picture of a shine will begin to appear. Make the whole picture visible and a shine will appear for you to collect.

Shine #93: Get the rocket nozzle and boost up to the bell tower with a flag above it (it’s to your right if you look at the entrance for Bianca Hills). Once up there, clean the bell with FLUDD and a shine will appear, reachable with the rocket nozzle.

Shine #94: Go over to the opposite bell tower and do the exact same thing to get another shine. This bell tower can also be accessed via the sewer system.

Shine #95: Get the rocket nozzle and walk over to the turret that shoots you over to Pinna Park. On the cliff to the right of you, you should see a rock jutting out with a green warp pipe on it. Swim across the sea until you are underneath it and rocket boost up to it. You may want to get your self up to one of the lower down rocks first with the palm trees on them. Once you get inside the pipe you’ll be faced with a red coin hunt. Be careful in here, there is nowhere to refill FLUDD. Anyway, kill the four enemies walking around to get your first four coins and hen grab the lone coin in the middle of the grass. The sixth is got by putting out the fire on the panicking Pianta and then talking to him. The seventh is obtained by spraying the red bird that flies around the final coin comes from jumping down the hole in one corner of the island and carefully grabbing it. Make sure you don’t fall out then simply jump back up through the hole to get the shine.

Shine #96: Here we are at our final shine (for a while) and we’re ending with an evil obstacle course. Brilliant. Getting to the course is just as hard as doing it and we start by getting Yoshi. Take Yoshi down a manhole near the Pinna Park turret and head over to the island out at sea. From here, wait for a boat to pass by and when one does, jump on to it but be careful you don’t fall into the water, Yoshi can’t swim! Before you head off make sure you eat some fruit because you don’t want Yoshi to run out of juice. At one point, the boat will pass a blue platform with bananas on it. Jump on to the platform, eat the bananas and jump on to the next boat that passes in the opposite direction. Jumping onto the blue platform is very tricky and don’t be surprised if you fail a couple of times. The second boat will pass another island with a warp pipe and yellow gunk above it. Spray the gunk and jump down the pipe. This is a tough course. You have to guide the lily pad (using FLUDD) and collect the red coins, and don’t fall into the water because it will kill Mario. Don’t go down the pipe at the end unless you complete the course and get the shine, otherwise you’ll have to restart doing the whole Yoshi thing again as well.

Well, you’ll be happy to know that there are no more obstacle courses, no more red coin hunts and no more boss battles. Well what is there to do I hear you cry. I’ll tell you, the blue coin hunt! 240 blue coins across all of the levels. 240 coins equals 24 shines meaning that currently we’re only 80% complete. Yes, I know. You’ve spent hours already and you’ve still got 240 items to find, but hey, life isn’t fair.

There are so many blue coins to collect that I’d have to fill another 20 or so A4 pages to fit them on and that would make this too long so I may at some point do a more comprehensive list of these and be a bit more specific with locations but for now I’ll give a few general hints about where to look for them.

There are 30 blue coins in each of the main seven levels (30 x 7 = 210), there are 19 in Delfino Plaza (210 + 19 = 229), 1 at the airport (229 + 1 = 230), and 10 in Corona Mountain (230 + 10 = 240).
There are some places that many coins have in common. For example, if you say a ‘M’ marking on a wall then you should wash it off and you’ll get a blue coin, there are many of these. Any blue birds that you see should be hosed down to reveal a blue coin, dirty villagers may reward you with a blue coin if you give them a wash and look inside bodies of water for a good chance of spotting some coins. Power bounce everything or even try tricking enemies into breaking items for you, possibly revealing a blue coin. Each time you get 10 blue coins, take them to the bear in the hut, which also acts as the Ricco Harbour entrance. He will swap you for a shine. It’s a tough job but by now you’ve probably collected a fair few coins already.

This really is a massive game and one which you should enjoy playing. I don’t expect you to have followed this guide religiously; in fact I hope you haven’t. It’s much better to try things your self first and only turn to a guide when you’re stuck but I’ve written it for you in case you need it so use it however you want. If you decide to print it off I’ll warn you now that it takes up 18 A4 pages so you’d be better putting it on to a disk.
Finally, I want to say thank you for reading and I hope that you found the guide helpful in your quest to gather the shines over Isle Delfino.
