Viewtiful Joe is a tough game and so I'll try and help you through the really hard parts from the first 3 levels.

Level 1:

The game opens up in a sort of tutorial, you are trained to use your moves. Beating Captain Blue maybe a chore but just duck as you are taught and you?ll be fine. And Captain Blue will turn joe into Viewtiful joe! The Ballerina?s are really tough early on but when Captain Blue teaches you slow-mo you'll have no problem as their twirl is next to useless. This move not only looks cool but also allows you to dodge attacks and get the maximum amount damage from bombs and other attacks. Once you?ve received slow-mo your first test is against the first of many Jokers. They are a not hard and really just an extended version of a normal bad guy. Use slow mo and he?ll be easy, you are then given a coin to use in the slot machine. Matching 3 burgers gets you some life, 3 pots of gold gets you some money and 3 V?s get you what you really need... the key to the next room. In here dodge the axes and kill the baddies and in the next room you?ll have to face the Cowboy. This can take time but always use slow-mo to dodge those annoying bullets and take your time to defeat them. Remember your VFX meter can run out so keep an eye on it. Once all enemies and the cowboy has departed kick the books on the switch and escape. Defeat the enemies in this room and flick the switch that is just above the deadly floor. Climb the chandeliers and escape. Now to fight the helicopter. This is tough on adult but you can either use slow-mo to jump on the ?copter and kick it to death or kick the bullets back? the latter is quicker.

Level 1: Part 2

When you reach the switch in which water drips use slow-mo to make the drip larger and open the door. After more viewtiful fights you?ll be up against Captain Blue again. He?s a tad tougher and you?ll need to use slow-mo again but it isn?t too hard and he?ll teach you max-speed. This allows you to move faster, speed things up and kill enemies much quicker. cool. Now uppercut the barrel... run underneath it using max-speed and you?re done for this room. Now use max speed to get to the bottom without the barrel and spiked barrel getting you, this is just soooo easy! Use max-speed again to hit and light the touches (you are just on fire) then get to the next room and prepare for the boss. Jump across and hit the coffin and meet Charles the bat. Use slow-mo this time and you?ll be okay, just dodge the stalactites and jump over his sweeping attack that he does 4 times. If he gets stuck under a stalactite then unleash a proper flurry of attacks. Remember you can go through all the room so use it the best you can. Once he?s defeated move onto level 2, "Some like it red hot!"

Level 2: Part 1

Defeat the enemies and jump on the platform, use max speed to get to the top and jump over the sewage. Now you are forced to fight a cowboy followed by another, be careful but do what you did last time. Jump over the sewer and fight Captain Blue, use max speed and slow mo to get the best effects once again, he is slightly harder than last time but emphasis on slightly. He?ll teach you zoom in, very useful attack that allows you to hit several things at once. Enter the sewer you jumped over and use this new found ability to kick the 2 switches at the same time and bingo, the door opens. Now you must race to the flag, this can get annoying. Raise the water with max speed and reach the other side, defeat the enemies and go against the current with max speed but be careful of the lasers. Jump on the following platform and be VERY careful to avoid these lasers... use max speed to raise the platform but time it well. When you reach this switch you?ll need the electricity to hit it for longer allowing it to power the door, you?ll need to do slow-mo for this. In the next room you?ll face another pretty easy Joker, once done you can use the slot machine once again and escape. As you fight more enemies a new bad gal is introduced, some robotic girl scouts, they?re not as hard as they look just remove their defense and finish them off. Now a bus will charge at you, jump on it and use slow motion when the bus leaves the ramp and then speed up as it flies through the air. Now for the next sub-boss... 2 helicopters (how original). You?re old hat at this now and with all your new skills and abilities under your belt this won?t be as hard as you first fear. Just dodge and kick using slow-mo.

Level 2: Part 2

Kill the cowboys and co. in here then jump on the chandeliers and hit the switch (using zoom in) to lower more chandeliers. Once done destroy the statues on either side to collect the gems and put them into the door. Now go upstairs and use slow to lower the platform, jump on it and then destroy the chandelier thus releasing the key, go through to the next room. You?ll be treated to some new sword wielding enemies, slow works well and again they?re not as hard as you first think. Approach the books and bookshelf and watch the bookcase slide forward, jump on it and use the zoom jump to burst through the ceiling. Nice. Defeat even more enemies and do the zoom jump down move to burst through the floor. Now you have to defeat all the enemies before the spiked barrel comes, max speed works well... shouldn?t have anything to worry about here. Get the key and escape through the door.

Now you have to cope with the slightly annoying bomb section. Kick the first bomb at the door and use slow motion to make the explosion bigger and destroy the door. This is even easier if you have bought your own bombs from the shop. Defeat all the enemies until you get the key of the girl scouts. Now it gets a tad tricky, a soon as a bomb appears you?ll need to kick it to the left (not far) and then, in slow motion, uppercut it and it SHOULD blow up the mark in the ceiling. It shouldn?t take too long to get it right. Avoid the lasers, kill the enemies and kick the big bomb to the end, using the speed up VFX move to light it and get you through the doors. You?ll have to kill the enemies before the barrel gets you again and go through the door. Once done zoom dive a switch to release a ladder and go through. Defeat that blasted Joker again and with the coin get 3 V?s in the slot machine as before. Zoom dive the bath tub to go through it, fight the easy girl scouts for the key then use it to get closer to the final boss. Ride the elevator and then uppercut the bomb up the platforms to the top one. It should light and quickly kick it to the door, time it right and it?ll destroy the door. Now fight the hilarious Hulk Davidson. Try and destroy his axe and be careful when he jumps. It?s best to destroy his axe as he has no protection then, but he will get it back so be quick. Slow-mo works fine when destroying the axe and avoiding attacks but when it comes to damage it?s best to use max-speed but be warned, he?ll soon recover and hit you... so be careful. Once this is done you can move onto the third level and the final one I will cover.

Level 3: Part 1

There really isn?t much to this I can help you with. It?s a flying a plane and using bullets to shoot your enemies down. Don?t go to low or you?ll get hit by the fish and slow-mo allows your bullets to grow and kill far far quicker. It can get a tad tough at times but remember you can use your VFX skills. At the end you?ll fight a big plane but this isn?t very hard. A nice change if a tad easy considering how tough the end of the last level was.

Level 3: Part 2:

This can get annoying, you?ll face LOADS of enemies in here... a slightly harder Joker and cowboys and other various baddies. A bomb is going to go off and you have to stop it! But to start with defeat some of the enemies and use the remote control to control the platform near the beginning and landing it on the switch using slow mo. Use max-speed to go through the door before it's too late! Now you?ll wonder through these tunnels in a much the same way as before collecting as you go. The new electrocuting guard systems can be frustrating when being attacked by loads of enemies but all you need to do is stand underneath it (when it isn?t trying to fry you) and use the zoom jump to wave goodbye the these annoying enemies. Once you get to the Joker and receive the key card you disarm the bomb and lower the water... wahoo. Now avoid the onslaught of enemies that have re-appeared and return to the start. Drop down and meet the toughest aspect of the level. The boss. Gran Bruce is some strange shark creature and is really difficult. If you don?t know how to beat him that is. Hit him to start with then try and dodge his next attack. Fish missiles are easier to dodge but if he unleashes normal piranhas then KILL THEM they?ll halt you allowing his chomp attack to get you. If he is chomping after you then use max speed to escape. He also likes re-charging in the water so hit him to make him stop and he?ll use a whirlwind attack to knock you out of the way. Don?t worry about that it can?t hurt you. Now this is where it gets clever. When he fires the bombs make sure there is one between you and him, he?ll then chomp after you but get a bomb caught in his big gob en-route. Now, in slow motion, kick the bugger and watch the explosion grow bigger... but hold onto slow-mo to get the best effect. Do this several times and you can enter level 4. The submarine. Which I better do right now.

Part 3

-- Mission 1: Defeat the enemies and leave the room --

There're regular robots, some ballerinas, and a couple of gunslingers, so keep your guard up. Once they're history, jump up to the top of the chandelier, then zoom and jump to hit the switch and lower other chandeliers. Go to either side and destroy the statue until you get the gem, then go to the door on the right side of the room and the gem will be placed. Do the same on the other side to leave the room.

Go up to the next floor.

-- Mission 2: Get the big key and leave --

Upon entering the hallway, use slow to lower a platform, then jump on and go up. Jump and destroy the chandelier to get the key, then go through the door. Defeat the enemies in here, and sworded enemies will appear. Slow works well on these guys; once they're gone, approach the books, then the bookshelf. The shelf will slide forward, so jump on top and use a zoom jump to burst through the ceiling.

Defeat the enemies in this area, then use a zoom dive to burst through the floor. Defeat the enemy and go through the door, then defeat all the enemies, grab the key and leave before the spiked barrel runs you over.

Go up to the next floor.

-- Mission 3: Get the big key and leave...again --

Upon entering this floor, the Mysterious Being from Above will give you a bomb. Kick it at the door and watch it blow up with slow, and the door will burst open. In this room, defeat all the enemies, then burst the door to the right open. Defeat the Girl Scout to get the key, then go back. The instant a bomb appears, kick it to the left under the discolored ceiling, then go slow and uppercut it; it should blow a hole in the ceiling. Go up and defeat the enemies here, then, avoiding lasers, kick the big bomb to the door and Mach Speed attack it to light it. Defeat the last enemies, then go through the door.

Go up to the next floor.

-- Mission 4: See Mission 3 --

Defeat the enemies here, get a key, go through the door before the spiked barrel arrives. Defeat the enemies, then zoom dive onto the switch to drop a ladder; jump up to the next floor. Go towards the exit to fight the Joker; defeat it, then get three V's on the slot machine to get books. Approach the bookshelf to place the books and leave. Go down into the hall and through the door.
Zoom dive into the bathtub to break a hole in it, then fight the Girl Scout for the key. Jump on the table to the right, then jump out through the bathtub, then go back into the hall and into the elevator.

Power up if you can, then continue. Ignore the awful crooning and slow-uppercut the bomb up to the last chandelier. Once the fuse gets to its second-shortest point, slow-kick it to the door, which should blow open. Go up to the green guy; after some talk, you'll battle.

-- Boss: Hulk Davidson (Iron Ogre) --

He'll jump at you, always jump to avoid the shockwave. When three skulls appear at the bottom, dodge up, then attack. When a huge skull appears, go slow and jump to dodge the axe. On occasion, fire will drop from a chandelier, but it won't hurt if you use Mach Speed and punch and kick a lot. He'll also charge at you; jump, then attack while he's dazed. On occasion, he'll fire missiles at you, but you can kick them and they'll home in on him.

More DBZ announcer stuff. Congrats, Episode 2 is done.

4.3 - Episode 3: 2,000,000 Leagues Under The Sea

1st

-- Mission 1: Defeat the airborn enemies --

This is sorta like Starfox meets Darius Twin. A and Y are fire, unless you're zoomed in, in which case it's dash. X drops bombs, and if you're zoomed in, it's spin. Slow makes blasts accumulate. At the end, you'll fight a giant plane that fires bullets and missiles. This shouldn't be very difficult; if you've played Darius Twin, piece of cake. This is probably the longest mission in the game. Try to collect V-films as you fall.

Save and power up, then continue.

2nd

As you drop, you can open up the boxes and get the V-films inside.

-- Mission 1: Defeat the enemies and get out --

First are ballerinas, then football players, then two Girl Scouts, then gunslingers. Grab the remote that lands, then go back to the platform and have it follow you to the switch. Use slow and it will fall, so go through the door holding slow.

-- Mission 2: Defeat the enemies --

Six normal robots. Easy as pie.

-- Mission 3: Defeat the electric guards --

Defeat the robots in here, then stand under a guard thing. When it's not electric, zoom in and jump to destroy it. Do the same to the other and leave.

-- Mission 4: Defeat the electric guards...again --

The robots in here include many fish and two gunslingers. Once they're gone, get rid of the guards.

Go forward to the slots.

-- Mission 5: Defeat the Joker --

He's the same as the last couple times, just with more health. Make it quick, then get three V's on the slots. Place the keycard in the wall, and the bomb will disarm and the water will drain.

-- Mission 6: Get out --

Use Mach Speed all the way back to avoid mines and enemies.

Power up, then continue. Go to the other side of this room, then drop down if nothing happens. You'll meet a weird-talking shark.

-- Boss: Gran Bruce (Aquatic Terror) --

Among this guy's attacks are: chomping around after you (use Mach Speed to run away), making bombs (easy to avoid), flinging garbage (go slow), and a vortex (stay away from him). If you use slow zoomed punches, he'll die literally in seconds.

And...episode 3 is finished. On to the enemy base! Or so you think...

4.4 - Episode 4: The Viewtiful Escape

1st

-- Mission 1: Get to the flag --

You'll have to run along the submarine, fighting off enemies, until you get to the end. You can use Zoom Jump or Dive to create holes in the sub that will keep you safe from the oncoming missiles. Once you get to the place where the missiles are being launched, you'll have to jump on top, then run to the other side very quickly. Keep jumping and running until you get past them, then you'll get to the gears. Use Slow and punch the part that says Stop to stop them. Go past, then drop down.

Power up, then continue on to the boss...Joe?

-- Boss: Another Joe --

Another Joe tends to move around a lot really fast. He has all your basic attacks, and can also summon clones of himself to grab onto you and attack. To avoid these, you need to slow down and attack each ones that comes at you (really fast). He'll also summon your ship to fire at you. Other than that, this shouldn't be too hard; use slow zoomed punches when you get the chance.

Heh, you've beaten yourself up, but it's not over yet! Remember this is the Viewtiful ESCAPE?

-- Mission 2: Escape the sub --

You have 600 seconds, AKA 10 minutes. Keep going ahead until you reach the missiles; you need to upercut these, then Mach Speed run under them. When you reach the missile on a spring, use it to get to a hidden alcove with a life, then get back on and use Slow to make it go really high. After that, you just need to jump your way out, avoiding lasers, which is harder than it sounds.

There you go. Episode 4 finished. More announcer guy.
