Passing the B-License Tests.
----------------------------
All Gold Will Win: Mazda MX-5

To get a gold pass on these first two license tests you will need
to learn to control your wheel spin off the line, as the traction
control (TCS) has been disabled. Therefore you need to either
vary the pressure on the analogue buttons, or use the right stick
for accelleration.

B-1: Starting Accelerating and stopping 1: VW New Beetle 2.0

Rev to a steady 5500 rpm on the start line, and as you
accellerate through 1st gear vary the amount of throttle applied
so that it stays there. When you reach second, go to full
throttle and keep it like that until you reach the breaking
point. The Breaking Point is a white line across the righthand
side of the track, about halfway between the 900m barrier and the
finish line. Apply the breaks fully as your car goes over this
line and you should stop just over the finishing line.

B-2: Starting Accelerating and Stopping 2: Dodge Viper GTS

AS for B-1 but this time you will need to hold the revs at 5000
rpm, and again control your revs through 1st gear. This time you
need to break just before the bottom of the yellow 900m road
marking disappears off the bottom of the screen (on inside
view).

The Following tests have a line drawn on the track which shows
you the route to take. Where the line is blue; accelerate! Where
the line is red, Brake! Where the line is white, coast (neither
accelerate nor brake). these lines are very useful. Follow them
and you should get a pass first time. They are also useful for
tuning your Gold Pass attempts.

B-3: Basics of Cornering 1: FF cars: Fiat Coupe Turbo Plus

Another standing start, so control the revs as you accelerate.
There is line on the track showing the route that you should
drive. as you accelerate up the straight, peel off gently to the
right , so that you are at the outside edge of the circuit before
you reach the crest of the hill. brake and turn in simultaneously
as you pass the point where the kerb starts on the inside of the
track. Round the apex smoothly, applying gentle acceleration. As
soon as you can see the kerb on the exit of the corner, hit full
throttle, and use the full width of the track. Sprint to the
finish.

B-4: Basics of Cornering 2: FR cars: Honda S2000

Accelerate and move to the right as before. Break a tiny bit
earlier than before. The only think to be careful about here is
the oversteer. as you leave the corner, the back end will try to
step out. to overcome this apply gentle corrections away from the
direction of the corner. Don't make drastic movements though, as
you'll end up on the grass or spinning.

B-5: Cornering Response 1: FF cars : Honda Civic Type-R

Build your revs to around 6000 to 7000 rpm, control the wheel
spin as before. Peel off to the right to the edge of the track,
and follow the blue line into the first corner. You may feel the
compulsion to turn earlier than this, but this ruins your line
through the remaining corners. hug the apex of turn one and then
let off the accelerator for a moment before turning into the
second. close to the apex as possible, so that you are on the
right for the last corner. This is the important one, as a slow
exit speed loses a lot of time on the sprint to the finish. tap
the brake hard on the way in, and then accelerate across the apex
and out of the corner to the finish. If neccesary, ease off the
accelerator slightly to make sure that you Don't HIT THE WALL!
sounds obvious but even a slight rub along the wall at the corner
exit will loose several tenths of a second.

B-6: Cornering response 2: FR cars: Mazda MX-5

Very similar to the last test. Beware that when you ease off into
the second bend, the car will begin to overstear, so be gentle
with the steering, and try to keep the slide to a minimum, else
you will slow down and loose time.

B-7: Basics of Sequential Cornering: Toyota MR2

The key to this set of corners is steering control, rather than
speed control. if you get the line right, you won't need to break
at all, just lift off the throttle a touch. Take the first slight
bends flat out, using as much of the grass as possible (remember
you can take two wheels off the track. Anymore and you'll fail).
At the first tight bend, lift off as you approac, then accelerate
through. The back end will begin to step out, and you need to
correct it as soon as it happens, to keep your momentum up. The
second tight righthander requires reduced throttle, but don't
lift off completely. use all of the track, but don't hit the
bridge (you will need to get very close though for a gold time).
hug the left hand side up to the finish.

B-8: License test: Skyline GTR V-spec II (R32)

This is a tough one. Drive flat out through the first tunnel,
using the kerb to get as close to the inside wall as possible.
Brake for a second as you enter the second bend, so that you
loose anough speed to drop into second gear. Then accelerate
through the corner, not allowing any oversteer and getting as
close as possible to the rockface on the exit. The third major
corner is best taken by lifting off the accelerator until just
before the apex. The final bend it critical, as the straight
after it is very long and your exit speed will have a massive
bearing on your time. As you enter the tunnel before the corner,
ease of the throttle and turn in. If you've got this right, you
will feel as if you are going to hit the edge of the tunnel, but
you should miss it by a tiny gap. at this point accelerate hard
through the corner over towards the right.
