Hello and welcome to this Super Smash Bros. Melee (SSBM)
walkthrough. SSBM is packed with tons of great characters like
Mario, Link, DK and many more. This is the best game on the
Gamecube by far and the most enjoyable. I made this walkthrough,
as it is hard to complete the game so hopefully this walkthrough
should help.

In total there are up to 29 arenas in Super Smash Bros Melee. As
soon as you start the game you can enter 18 arenas that means
there is still another 11 to be unlocked. I will list all of the
arenas now but to find out how to unlock some arenas you will
have to go to the secrets section (chapter 12).

5) Modes
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
In total there are 3 modes altogether but you can only use 2 to
start off with. The 2 modes you can use is Classic and Adventure
mode. The other mode is All-star mode, to find out how to open
All-star mode go and look at chapter 12 (secrets).
Classic
The Classic mode has 11 events in which you have to compete in
and you have to fight randomly selected characters. If you lose
all your lives you can continue on the stage or event you are on
but you lose points and a coin. Before you start Classic mode you get to set how many lives you have (stock). You can set your lives from 1-5. It helps to have 5 lives if you set the difficulty to hard or very hard. If you want a challenge put your difficulty to normal and have only 1
life.

Adventure
Adventure mode is like Classic mode but you have worlds that you
have to walkthrough and battle opponents at the same time. You
still have to fight opponents like before but the people you
fight are already determined. You have to complete certain goals

6) Vs. Mode
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vs. Mode is great fun if you just want to mess about and have fun
with your mates. As you know you need two controllers to play in
Vs. Mode so if you only have one controller, buy another one it’s
worth it! There are 3 main modes in Vs. Mode and they are Melee,
Tournament Melee and Special Melee.
Melee
Melee is a mode where you just want to fight your friends on any
of the stages that you have unlocked or the stages which where
unlocked all ready. This is fun but if you can find it a bit
boring after a while.
Tournament Melee
Tournament Melee is where you fight the computer and your friends
in a tournament. You can set the number of people fighting in
the tournament and this ranges between 4-64 and the aim is too
beat every one who you come up against. If you win you continue
through the knockout stages until there is only one person
left.
Special Melee
Special Melee is the best melee in Vs. Mode as there is ten ways
you can fight your friends. Here’s a quick list:
Camera Mode
Take snapshots with the special smash camera!
Stamina Mode
Start with 150 Hp and the loser is the first person to have 0
Hp.
Super Sudden Death
You both start the fight with 300 Hp.
Giant Melee
All players are giant sized.
Tiny Melee
All players are tiny
Invisible Melee
All players are invisible.
Fixed Camera Mode
The camera does not zoom or scroll.
Single Button Mode
The player is only allowed to use the A button and the control
stick.
Lightning Melee
All players move at high speed.
Slo-mo Melee
All players move in slow motion.

8) Stadium
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
In Stadium matches you have 3 modes and they are: Target Test,
Home-Run Contest and Multi-Man Melee.
Target Test
In Target Test you can use any character you have unlocked and
there task is to smash all ten targets. You often have to use
lots of your selected characters attack so make sure you know
them all. You are being timed for the test so you have to smash
all ten targets quickly with every character and you may get a
prize. If you want to see the layout of your characters stage
just press start to zoom out to look at the whole level. The
problem with this is the clock is still running so if you want to
start again just pause the game and press Z to reset the test.
Home-Run Contest
This is one of the best contests in the whole game. This is
great fun and you will hardly get bored of it. The aim of
Home-Run Contest is to hit the sand bag as far as you can using a
bat within 10 seconds. The thing is you have to soften up the
bag before you hit it so it’s a good idea to know all your
characters moves. The more damage you do the further the bag
will fly. To make the bag go as far as you can you need to do a
smash attack on the bag with the baseball bat. My furthest
distance so far is 407.6 metres (1338.3 feet) using Dr. Mario
with a combo of Super Sheet (right, B) and Megavitamins (B). It
may take a while to get it right but you can win certain trophies
or a stage if you can get a certain distance.
Multi-Man Melees
There are 6 matches you can fight in Multi-Man Melees and they
are: 10- Man Melee, 100-Man Melee, 3-Minute Melee, 15-Minute
Melee, Endless Melee and Cruel Melee. Each Melee has certain
rules and certain tasks and you fight theses melees on the
Battlefield Stage. Your opponents are Male and Female Wire Frame
Fighters and there are usually five opponents on the stage at the
same time. Here is a guide to tell you what you do in each
match:
10-Man Melee
In the 10-Man Melee you have to KO 10 Wire Frame Fighters that
isn’t to hard because they only have one smash attack. You must
KO the 10 Fighters with the shortest time possible. The best
strategy is to stand near the middle and wait for the Wire Frame
Fighters to attack you. My best character for this is DK with
00:08:82 by using Down and B.
100-Man Melee
It’s like the 10-Man Melee but you face 100 Wire Frame characters
and you should also use the same strategy as above. My best time
so far is 05:29:40.
3-Minute Melee
The task of this is to last 3 minutes against Wire Frame
Fighters. I would still use the same strategy as before. My
best is 117 KOs using DK.
15-Minute Melee
The task of this is to last 15 minutes against Wire Frame
Fighters. I would still use the same strategy as before.
Endless Melee
This is like all the other Melees but you see how many Fighters
you can beat until you are KO. My best number of KO’s are 137
using DK.
Cruel Melee
This may look the same but it isn’t. This can take a long time
to do as the Fighters are really hard as they are really fast and
take a long time to KO them. Your best bet is to use your best
character and try to split the Fighters up and then to attack
them.

In total there are up to 29 arenas in Super Smash Bros Melee. As
soon as you start the game you can enter 18 arenas that means
there is still another 11 to be unlocked. I will list all of the

5) Modes
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
In total there are 3 modes altogether but you can only use 2 to
start off with. The 2 modes you can use is Classic and Adventure
mode. The other mode is All-star mode, to find out how to open
All-star mode go and look at chapter 12 (secrets).
Classic
The Classic mode has 11 events in which you have to compete in
and you have to fight randomly selected characters. If you lose
all your lives you can continue on the stage or event you are on
but you lose points and a coin. Before you start Classic mode you get to set how many lives you have (stock). You can set your lives from 1-5. It helps to have 5 lives if you set the difficulty to hard or very hard. If you want a challenge put your difficulty to normal and have only 1
life.

Adventure
Adventure mode is like Classic mode but you have worlds that you
have to walkthrough and battle opponents at the same time. You

6) Vs. Mode
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vs. Mode is great fun if you just want to mess about and have fun
with your mates. As you know you need two controllers to play in
Vs. Mode so if you only have one controller, buy another one it’s
worth it! There are 3 main modes in Vs. Mode and they are Melee,
Tournament Melee and Special Melee.
Melee
Melee is a mode where you just want to fight your friends on any
of the stages that you have unlocked or the stages which where
unlocked all ready. This is fun but if you can find it a bit
boring after a while.
Tournament Melee
Tournament Melee is where you fight the computer and your friends
in a tournament. You can set the number of people fighting in
the tournament and this ranges between 4-64 and the aim is too
beat every one who you come up against. If you win you continue
through the knockout stages until there is only one person
left.
Special Melee
Special Melee is the best melee in Vs. Mode as there is ten ways
you can fight your friends. Here’s a quick list:
Camera Mode
Take snapshots with the special smash camera!
Stamina Mode
Start with 150 Hp and the loser is the first person to have 0
Hp.
Super Sudden Death
You both start the fight with 300 Hp.
Giant Melee
All players are giant sized.
Tiny Melee
All players are tiny
Invisible Melee
All players are invisible.
Fixed Camera Mode
The camera does not zoom or scroll.
Single Button Mode
The player is only allowed to use the A button and the control
stick.
Lightning Melee
All players move at high speed.
Slo-mo Melee
All players move in slow motion.

8) Stadium
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
In Stadium matches you have 3 modes and they are: Target Test,
Home-Run Contest and Multi-Man Melee.
Target Test
In Target Test you can use any character you have unlocked and
there task is to smash all ten targets. You often have to use
lots of your selected characters attack so make sure you know
them all. You are being timed for the test so you have to smash
all ten targets quickly with every character and you may get a
prize. If you want to see the layout of your characters stage
just press start to zoom out to look at the whole level. The
problem with this is the clock is still running so if you want to
start again just pause the game and press Z to reset the test.
Home-Run Contest
This is one of the best contests in the whole game. This is
great fun and you will hardly get bored of it. The aim of
Home-Run Contest is to hit the sand bag as far as you can using a
bat within 10 seconds. The thing is you have to soften up the
bag before you hit it so it’s a good idea to know all your
characters moves. The more damage you do the further the bag
will fly. To make the bag go as far as you can you need to do a
smash attack on the bag with the baseball bat. My furthest
distance so far is 407.6 metres (1338.3 feet) using Dr. Mario
with a combo of Super Sheet (right, B) and Megavitamins (B). It
may take a while to get it right but you can win certain trophies
or a stage if you can get a certain distance.
Multi-Man Melees
There are 6 matches you can fight in Multi-Man Melees and they
are: 10- Man Melee, 100-Man Melee, 3-Minute Melee, 15-Minute
Melee, Endless Melee and Cruel Melee. Each Melee has certain
rules and certain tasks and you fight theses melees on the
Battlefield Stage. Your opponents are Male and Female Wire Frame
Fighters and there are usually five opponents on the stage at the
same time. Here is a guide to tell you what you do in each
match:
10-Man Melee
In the 10-Man Melee you have to KO 10 Wire Frame Fighters that
isn’t to hard because they only have one smash attack. You must
KO the 10 Fighters with the shortest time possible. The best
strategy is to stand near the middle and wait for the Wire Frame
Fighters to attack you. My best character for this is DK with
00:08:82 by using Down and B.
100-Man Melee
It’s like the 10-Man Melee but you face 100 Wire Frame characters
and you should also use the same strategy as above. My best time
so far is 05:29:40.
3-Minute Melee
The task of this is to last 3 minutes against Wire Frame
Fighters. I would still use the same strategy as before. My
best is 117 KOs using DK.
15-Minute Melee
The task of this is to last 15 minutes against Wire Frame
Fighters. I would still use the same strategy as before.
Endless Melee
This is like all the other Melees but you see how many Fighters
you can beat until you are KO. My best number of KO’s are 137
using DK.
Cruel Melee
This may look the same but it isn’t. This can take a long time
to do as the Fighters are really hard as they are really fast and
take a long time to KO them. Your best bet is to use your best
character and try to split the Fighters up and then to attack
them.
