2.Items

Now we are looking at items, these can usually give you the edge you need in battle to pick up for the all important win. I will however, only show you the items that are worth your time and how to use them, the others are pretty obvious to use.

Projectlies-these are weapons that can be fired or fire, these are handy for weakening oppenenrts before knocking them out, but be warned, you're vunerable to attack while using these. Also alot of the time, these have limted amounts of ammo.

super scope=this can fire multiple consecutive bullets by tapping A or it can fire large blasts by charging up for a short while. This is not to be used in hand to hand combat.

ray gun=this fires succesive blasts in the form of green bullets, this weapon is great for pushing people away and inflicting damage. It also requires no charging time.

Freezie=this is in the form of an ice block, when it is thrown at the opposition it freezes them, making them unable to attack, while the oppenant is frozen you try to cause as much damage as you can on them by usindg various smashes.

Star rod=press A and toward the oppenent to fire a star, also you can charge by using the same metod you with a smash attack. This is also a combat weapon.

Green Shell: throw these to wipe across the floor causing damages to all that touches it.

Combat-this type of weapon is ussually to weaken and smash opposition out of the ring. Ussually once you get the upper hand with a weapon you can keep the victory. They can be used in almost any situation.

Baseball Bat=this weapon is the most powerful in the game, after a short period of charging you unleash a deverstating blow, ussally knocking out the person unfortunate enough to be on the other end. Ouch. This can also be used as a quick jabber.

Fan= these are very quick and speedy weapon, not very powerful, but they do alot of hits that are hard to avoid, great in cornered situations.

Lips Stick=once an oppositon is struck by this flower they slowly loose heath until the flower on their head is gone. It can be rid of by plenty of movements. This weapon can be charged.

Light Sabre= just like in star wars you weild a beam of light in the form of a sword. Great for quick jabs and a good smash attack as well. Also quick to use.

Item Holders-these (obviously) hold items, and are ussually broken by continual hits and/or being thrown.

capsule=these small drug shaped pink and white holders ussually hold one random item, they dan stun oppnants

Barrel= thes hold several items however when being held they slow you down dramatically and you can't attack, only throw, only to be used quickly if possible.

Party Ball=these when thrown or hit, float into the air and pop open like a piyatta, they ussually release similar items in groups . The chances are self destruction 10%, Food Banquet 36%, Bob-omb fest 12%, other 42%.

Healing items-these items are always worth picking up regardless of the amount of damage you've got as they heal and if you don't need them use them so that no-one else can.

Food=recovers around 3% (riceballs, pizza, icecream etc.)

Maxim Tomato=recovers 50% points of damage

Heart Container=recovers 100% point of damage

Other important items-all items exist for some reason or another, but these are the few that didn't really fit in one catogory and are important

Red Shell=similar to the green shell ecept that it moves left and right randomly, hitting opponants multiple times

Bunny Hood=makes you jump higher and run faster

Parasol=with this when in air you gently float down but to not so safety. It can also be used as aweapon and smash weapon.

Poke'ball=these balls get thrown and when they hit the floor a Poke'mon comes out and inflicts damage, chances of getting different Poke'mon vary. Also each one has its own attack. Always worth picking up before anyone else snatches it.

Starman=you are invincible for a brief peiod (you can still fall off)

There are plenty of other items, but to do them all would've taken ages. They also need to be used in the right situations, thats why there catogrised

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.Situations

Now we move on to fighting amd Technique. The stuff until now was just knowledge, now we need to find out how to use it, after all, knowledge is power. Here we will look at what to do when, If you're a begginer it helps to know this stuff, but when you progress far enough it becomes second nature. I'll put this in the order that your likely to need it in a match to make it easier.

Starting off=Okay the timers just begun, on the other side of the arena is your opposition. The first thing you should do is to get any items that there may be, if not, move around and do quick conflicts, weakening him and keep doing this with occasional smashes, to get the upper hand early on.

Weapons= by now a weapon has probably appeared, so you try and get it before your oppositoin by knocking them out of the way. Once you've got it retreat, then if its a projectilile fire it, keeping the opposition away. If it a combat weapon, charge in and do a strike with, knocking the challenger backwards . Then you charge up your weapon and do the all important smash!

Getting rid of them=now that there weak enough to be knocked out, they'll try to avoid combat more. But, when you charge up they'll try and hit you this is when you unleash the force of your attack upon them, knocking them out. If you have a weapon do the same, or if its not powerful enough drop it then smash them. They will try to get back on, but dont let them smash them again as soon as they get back on solid land. That'll do it!

They're back=once you have defeated them they'll come back for more and for the first few second they'll be invincible, while you are in this position, avoid them, possibly trying to get a weapon. By this time you will be weak from battle. You should choose a different tactic by going in to do occasional hits rather then full on fury.

Falling off=eventually however you will begin to get knock far and you will find it hard to get back on the platform. But there is a way you can jump far. If you are falling off do a double jump in a 45 degree angle towards the platform. Now do a B+up move to go higher still, hopefully you would be touching solid ground, if not you'll be able to get rvenge later on.

When coming back=take full advantage of your few seconds of invurability, avoid battle by staying on the revail platform for as long as possible, avoiding conflict. When you have to eventually fall down take advantage of your new health and cause as much damage as posible, while your oppositon cowers.

There are plenty of other situation, but to do all of would've taken ages. These are the bare essentials. The rest will probably come out of common sense, good luck!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. Chracter Ablities

Due to space and time. I will only do a few main chracters in full. But don't despair for I will do a brief summary on all chracters still. Overtime you will grow on more then others. But each chracter has his/hers pluses and minus. Here are the important ones then.

Captain Falcon-Speed/Power

B=Falcon Punch, a powerful punch that is good for knocking people out of the arena, a short period of charging is required.

B+left/right=Raptor Boost, follow up a quick dash with an uppercut which lifts enimies into the air, good for beggining combo's.

B+up=falcon dive, a grab followed by an explosion which blows the opposition away.

B+down=Falcon Kick, a sliding kick which causes plenty of damage, in the air its a diving kick, good for charging at an opponent.

Captain Falcon is probably my favourite chracter as he's the fastest in the game, but he is still really powerful. His moves give very little oppertunity for oppenants to follow up with a counter attack so he is very good for causing damage. he is mid weight so he flys when hit mid-distance. Pluses: Speedy, Powerful, Combo Man. Minuses: Punching Bag, no ranged attacks.

Kirby-High Jump

B=Swallow B to inhale. When opponent is in mouth, press A to spit them out, or B to steal their B ability!
Press the D-Pad in any direction to discard ability.

B+left=Hammer. Prees B-Left then up to swing the hammer up, or just B-Letf to swing it horizontally.

B+up=Final Cutter. Kirby jumps up, swings a sword over his head, and releases a shockwave along the floor in the direction he is facing when he lands. Hold left or right to move Kirby in mid-move. Good when surrounded by enemies.

B+down=Stone. Kirby transforms into a heavy object and becomes invunerable for a short period. Good when done from a height.

Kirby is one of the lightest characters in the game, but also one of the highest jumping, with the ability to pentuple-jump. His swallow ability is a major part in his tactics, with it's many uses such as inhaling the opponent, walking off an edge spitting them out, then jumping back up, which most characters cannot from a certain height. Another plus is his cuteness! But even he has his weaknesses. Pluses- High Jumps, small, good B ability, good punch combo. Minuses-Featherweight, weak.

Link-Powerful/Distance

B=Bow. Hold B to charge, release to fire. When the end of the arrow begins to shine, it's on full power.

B-Left=Boomerang. Tilt Ctrl stick in direction you're facing for extended distance, tilt up or down to aim.

B-up=Spin Attack. A rising slash attack. Good for rising and when surrounded.

B-Down=Bomb. Use like a Bob-omb. Throw it!

Link's attacks almost always envolve a weapon. Eg Boomerang, sword etc. You can over double the power of his A-left /right smash attack by pressing A during the slash. This will make you do another, more powerful slash. Also, pressing A-Down in mid-air will make you do an extremely powerful sword attack. Plusses-Reasonably powerful, distance. Minuses-Not strong in any particular field.

Samus Aran- Projectiles/all rounder

B=Charge Shot, hold to unleh more powerful blast

B+left/right= Missle, homings but slow

B+up= screw attack, causes multiple hits, good for getting out of tight situations

B+down= Bomb, explosives, can be used to jump higher

Samus is a projectilie attacker, the best in the game at it. The first thing you should do is get out of melee and fire weapons from a reasonable distance. If you get stuck in combat use bombs or screw attacks to inflict damage and escape. Always handy to have on some of the harder challenges. Plusses-Projectile master, mobile. Minusses- bad in close combat, vunerable.

Other Chracters- it is also important to keep these guys in mind!

Mario= the all ound guy ideal for begginers. Plusses- Easy to use, good alrounder. Minusses- doesn't excel greatly in any field.

Pikachu= plenty of power in a small package. Plusses- quick, good attacks. Minusses- light weight, inaccurate.

Bowzer= Big, heavy and powerful. plusses- powerful, heavy. Minusses- Punching Bag, poor movement.

Peach= don't let the looks fool you, she's mean- Plusses- Movement, technique. Minusses- light-weight, vunerable.

Yoshi= Eggs, eggs everywhere... Plusses- good melee fighter, movement. Minuses- inacurate, occasionally hard to use.

Donkey Kong= watch those fists, they are leathal. Plusses- Powerful, combo's. Minuses- punching bag, slow.

Fox= here, there, everywhere-speedy. Plusses- Fast, Projectiles. Minuses- not powerful, most suicidal.

Ness= some japanese psychic, thing. Plusses- Psychic, smashes. Minuses- weak, poor combat.

Ice Climers= Mountain Climbing Double Team. Plusses- two of them, combo's. Minnuses- weaker when singled out, sister slower and poorer.

Zelda= a magical princess of Hyrule. Plusses- magic, Shiek transformation. Minuses- poor combat, slow.

Shiek= a quick, cunning warrior. Plusses- fast, Zelda transformation. Minuses- light weight, occasionally difficult.

Luigi= Mario's green younger brother. Plusses- good recovery, all-rounder.
Minuses- some bad attacks, can be suicidal.

Gannondorf= Mr.Evil, Mr.Power. Plusses- Powerful, technique. Minuses- Movement, charging times.

Roy= Some young boy swords man. Plusses- best attack in game, movement. Minuses- some useless moves, charging times.

Marth= Roys friend, swords bloak. plusses- quick, long sword. Minuses- attacks, build.

Mewtwo= Poke'mon, won't they die! Plusses- Psychic, combos. Minuses- dificult, bad close combat.

Pichu= It Pikachu, only faster. Plusses- fast, powerful. Minuses- hurts its self when attacking with electricity, light-weight.

Game and Watch= retro rocks 4evr. Plusses- all rouner, unpredictable. Minuses- confusing, unpredictable.

Young Link- Snot nosed little kid. Plusses- powerful, movement. Minuses- light, bad close combat.

Dr. Mario- He's here to give a dose of death. Plusses- all rounder, varid attack. Minuses- doesn't excel greatly in any field, vunerable.

Falco- Fox's trusty partner. Plusses- fast, high jumper. Minuses- light weight, stoppable.

By the way if a certain standard move doesn't work with a chracter, then your controller isn't broken, it just that they vary from character to character, okay.

Lands

Here’s what to do on some of the moving parts of the arenas-
Yoshi’s Story-The clouds only stay for a short time, so watch out!
Big Blue-On this the platforms move around, the racers move, so you have to keep changing your location
Poke-Floats-Keep changing the Pokemon you’re on!
Flat Zone-Platforms appear and disappear
F-Zero Grand Prix-The platform occasionaly goes into the floor, and you are at risk of being crushed by F-Zero cars!.
One more ting you need to know is the rountine certain lands take and how to use them.

But the most important tip of all is to be sensible, think of your chracters strengths and use them to your advantage. Show no mercy. Be evil, and last of all win (and be smart)!
