Retro Game Walkthroughs for Timesplitters 2 (Gamecube)
Submitted By: samonion
You in essence are a guy that goes through time, looking for crystals, usually with a side-mission or two to complete along the way. You have a cool disguise for each land, a little device that helps you map things out. Always check your mission objectives in your log!

You start out at a Russian Station. You're a female Russian soldier. Lots of metal and snow. Go in and up on stairs, across wood planks and down in hole to get timed mine. Sniper ammo in another building.

Go in building back at start of planks - security door button. Press to open. Note on advanced if you turn the camera off, this activates the sniper above the dam. Take him out from just below the 2nd building back from him, on the right.

Make sure you use the mines on the 2 file cabinets - one each in 2 different buildings. Open the cabinet and then set the mine to burn the papers. Use the mines on the satellite dish on the roof.

Now black door is open. No power - door won't open inside. The powerless doors are all just elevators, and the power is out so you have to go around the long way on the stairs :) Go in up stairs.

Location of shot on person matters - head shot takes out in one hit. So use them :) Duck under any steam.

Up stairs - another elevator door. Just ignore them all. Go in other area - long corridor with boxes.

Little side doors - in to steam pressure valves. Spin them all down to low pressure. In first room, armor on shelf and 547 ammo.

When all valves are to zero, the steam stops and you can go through. The last area has sniper ammo on shelf - more armor. Now down the back set of stairs. Back out on other side.

In building - alert that time crystal is located. You see shelves with watermelons. These are fun to shoot! There are 2 filing cabinets on the left here to burn up. The last filing cabinet is in a room under the stairs. Crates there have boxes and body armor.

Now in to next stairs - checkpoint. In with power generators. High voltage and backup. door - restricted access.

Go into control room. Button over to side - opens restricted door. Shoot wheels and they spin!

Go in the restricted door - strange alien guy. Kill him. Side room #1 is a prison with red bars - grenades on shelf. Room 2 is locked, room 3 has another guard. You can't jump on the boxes. Move on.

"Investigate the secret digging site. Destroy bio-hazard container." You get the Time Crystal! There's a container health meter on screen now. Blow up with mines. The time portal is by 3rd prison door on easy. On medium, you get a computer disk from the dig area and put it into the control room to restore power. This turns on the elevators, so you can go up to the top of teh dam. You have to eliminate the gunship, and then the time portal appears on top of the dam.

Finish on normal: new character - Hybrid Mutant

Chicago: 1932

You are Jake Fenton, hard boiled detective. You're after "Mister Big". This level is full of brick, boxes and wood buildings. It's the dirty streets of Chicago. You start with a "Vintage rifle". Ummmm at the time it was just a "rifle" - and "vintage" means back in the days of the cowboys! When you shoot a guy you can knock his hat off. :)

You have period weapons, including a Tommy Gun and a Silenced Luger. When jumping down, grab the sniper ammo on the box top. There's a barrel across from your starting position, in the room with the stairs going up. To get the second barrel, go up the stairs across and down other stairs to a brick room.

Next, prevent Tommy's brother from escaping when you're back on the street. Shoot the tires out from the front - you're safe from gunfire in front of him. He crashes and burns. The last barrel is in an open room on the street to the right of O'Leary's entrance. Speaking of O'Leary's, on medium you have to do some fighting in there as a side mission. Nothing hard.

You'll find body armor and sniper ammo and O'Leary's whiskey barrel (shoot it full of holes) in little garage area. Watch the blimp sail overhead. OK, back to work. Find a phone - use - your informant says, meet me at news stand.

OK, now you have to rendezvous with an Informant to get a member card. If you want some fun, you can shoot pool balls into holes in bar.

Find him. Now must protect him as he walks slowly down the street. Plug holes in anyone that gets in your way. When he gets to his house, Get the member's card from him on easy, or TNT on medium. He "leaves" and walks away into black area. For medium, go up into the stained glass door nearby and blow the safe up at the top floor. Grab the card there.

Call for a taxi - the gates open. Run in while taxi goes in. Checkpoint reached.

Now go in to the building - "Time Crystal Located". Go in to members only door. Body armor to one side.

There are 2 tommy guns to left of club entrance area. You hear, "Fenton! What are you doing in my club?" You now hae an enemy health bar. Shoot him down with 2 tommy clubs. You eliminate Tommy pretty quickly with those. He drops the time crystal. Now bad guys show up. Time to go.

Win on medium: get new character - Big Tony

Notre Dame Cathedral: 1895

You're up against "Jacque de la Morte" - you have to release the captured women.

You're a female French woman in a jester outfit. Neato!

Get the shotgun. You'll meet up with zombie people as you listen to serene monk music, tolling bells (for whom do they toll?) and run around in a rat-maze of brick sewers with metal grates. Just where is that cheese?

You have a weak shotgun.

On the left you find a lever - it lifts up the sewer gates. Go into the sewer mouth. There's body armor up stairs.

You have to find 3 maidens on easy, four on medium. Then go to roof, get crystal, get Jacque. OK, time to begin.

Head up into crypt. Right there is woman 1, who says "merci" :)

There's body armor on the right in a cell - shoot off the lock. Woman 2 is just ahead on easy, and in the right cell on medium.

After you free her, head right. On medium a third girl is here - it's really a monster. Free her and then beware. The real third girl is over to the left. When you're set with this pair, then left up the stairs.

Checkpoint, time crystal located. You're now in the cathedral. The time crystal is on the altar. The girl is hanging from a rope. Do NOT shoot her down!! Go up stairs at front of church - pull rope - frees the final girl. Go down and defend until she and the hunchback escape. You get bonus points for the hunchback.

Now, facing the altar go right. Go up to balcony. A portal monster appears - huge - must kill it. Then go forward and up to door. Now you're up on the roof. Kill the enemies that appear and then kill Jacque. Portal will appear. Winning this on medium unlocks Jacque de la Morte.

Return to Planet X: 2280

You're the male commander of a fighter spaceship and you crash land on a planet. On this planet the Ozor and Meezor Mox hate each other so use their antagonism to your advantage.

You have to find a UFO and time crystal, and you start with no weapons. Just your fists. Beat up the first enemy to get a "SciFi Handgun". What a strange name! It makes cool (and dangerous) ricochet blasts. All around you is dust, rock, and glowy mushrooms.

Head down 1 hole to middle level. On medium hard there's a weapon part here. Go in second hole to floor - now you have cool machine guns. You also have a new objective - repel the beach attack. Use the machine guns to keep them back, and pick up a plasma autorifle. The repel is complete. Be sure to gather up weapons before you go on.

Go back between fence markers. You'll encounter bees from a hive. Soon you find the crashed saucer. On medium level the second part of the weapon is right before you get to the UFO.

Now protect the UFO as others attack you. Stay under it and it'll shoot the enemies over your head. Ah, the deserty planet, like many other deserty planets. When you're done, go into beam to go inside. The time crystal is now located on easy. The inside is spaceshippy, as you might expect. A wide range of wall types - stone, stone, stone, brick and spaceship metal :)

All done on easy. For medium, use the camera and now you have to "find the UFO base". go to the lower part of the ship (i.e. the tilted down part) to get out. There's a shield to the right, then head left. Past the bees, plasma grenades work great on them. Watch the guys kill each other, then man the guns to kill the escaping UFOs. Now you get to the spinning area. Go left to the teleport spot. Time crystal located. It's in the upper left, then return to the center to end.

New character on medium - Ozor Mox.

NeoTokyo: 2019

You are a male, 'Ghost'. You've been framed for a hacking job and have to tail the real hackers to clear yourself.

Start out with woman in front of you. This is the hacker - be very slow and follow her from a distance. On advanced levels also dodge the cameras and cops. You'll go down past some guns on the right - break glass to grab them but do so when she's far ahead.

Rainy city streets with lots of neon signs. Subways and sewers.

She goes right after guns then left. Left, left and down into tracks, into the sewers.

Now someone joins her - when you see the second person, get close behind. The security fence will activate behind them and you can't get through that. Once through, 'follow' is done.

Now go into room on left and watch through camera. You get her passwords.

Now you can start killing people. Get in to a laptop and use password on laptop. The door opens. There's a room ahead - body armor, machine gun in locker. On medium there's also astrolander cartridge, use your map to play it! Little space lander game :) There's also a camera.

On medium, go down the hall and left and take pictures of the plans, and in center take picture of alien.

Now head to door on right and use key too pen it. Run to right and turn off power.

On easy, an invisible gang leader shows up. Blast her with the machine gun lots of times and chase her. Eventually she dies and drops the crystal. Get the crystal and leave.

On medium, you have to head all the way back to the starting point, staying alive, to get the time crystal. The portal appears there. Sadako is a new character you earn. No boss battle or anything!

Wild West: 1853

You are Elijah Jones, the rough and ready bounty hunter. You're after The Colonel in Little Prospect. This is a town of dust and wooden buildings. You have to destroy 3 wanted posters on easy, 4 on medium. There's "Gunsmoke" sort of music.

For non-easy, jump immediately to dodge the point-one-second attack that comes at you. On the left side of Sherrif building is a poster. Use "A" to rip. The Sherrif is in a cell. For medium, the second poster is by the kegs in the saloon.

Go around back behind and blow up TNT in wagon. On easy you can just shoot it ... after that, lay a trail of gunpowder from the exploding crate to the TNT and shoot the crate. Once the jail wall has a hole in it, she excapes through hole. Now she says to go get colonel. He's at the mines.

As you head towards the mines, "put out fire and rescue girl". You see the fire to the right, and have to shoot holes in the water barrels over her head. She says "Healp Healp" and "Mah Hero" while showing quite a bit of cleavage. A-ha. On medium, another poster is on the side of the general store.

Checkpoint at end of street. You pick up some Garrett Revolvers. There's a poster on back wall up stairs at house on right of mine entrance. Now head in the mine - time crystal located, armor on right.

On medium you have to use the switch first in the mine house in the center of the mine area, but on easy the switch is already set properly. Push the ore cart and follow behind. It'll ride the track and blow a hole in the far wall. Now you have an enemy bar for the colonel. He's the one with the confederate hat on. Note if you pull the rope in the high building it makes whistle sound. Neato!

Now follow the tracks in - time portal stabilized. Get crystal. When you get it, invisible monsters from previous level are here. Kill them and a time portal opens on lower level. Get down to it carefully and you're set.

Easy win: nothing
Medium win: new character - the colonel

Atom Smasher: 1972

Mr Khallos is trying to take over the world. The "international playboy" Harry Tipper wants to stop him. Are we sure that isn't Tipper, Harry Tipper?

A laser beam manages to free him completely without harming him. Hmmmmmm. Detonation time 3 minutes.

Run out - get uplink. Open door. Run through and beat up a soldier - get silenced pistol. Find a scientist - he will disarm the first bomb for you. Note there are 3 scientists - 1 here and 2 later on.

Now you run into a 2nd bomb. Scientist there defuses it - now 6 minutes and 2 bombs left. Checkpoint on stairs.

Just above the checkpoint is a gas fire to put out. You have to spin the dial below to turn off the gas, then take an extinguisher up above to put the fire out. Then the fire doors will open.

OK, go in and right - spin dial on gas to shut it off. Now on left are the controls for magnet. Slide grabber to left, use magnet to pick up bomb - slide right into box and release the magnet.

Now go forward. You'll find 2 scientists in a box. Kill the bad guys and put out the fire with a fire extinguisher and they'll do the bomb. On medium level, you now have to go across a steaming pipe, timing your walk with the steam bursts, and disable something in the back control room. There's a body armour out the other door from the room.

When set, go forward. Kill the Khallos and activate all 3 red things there. The time portal appears.

Aztec Ruins: 1920

An older Indiana Jones type has found the crystal - muah hah ha hah. A monkey grabs it from him. Now you're chasing little cute monkeys.

'find temple - retrieve crystal'. You run into lots of short male Amazons with crossbows. There are also big golemmy enemies that you can fill full of arrows, and then the pincushion comes at you. For these guys, light your crossbow on fire and then shoot the enemies to kill them.

Note from Bobo: on the aztec level at the beginning there is a monster who tries to kill you it's no use trying to keep on shooting at him as he still comes after you what you need to do is to go to a flaming torch and lift up the crossbow your crossbow should now have a little flame at the front of it find the monster and shoot him he should set on fire and die soon from bobo

You'll run into a hive with bees. Shoot them down. Follow the path across a bridge to a lever. Turn the lever, and it lets logs loose. A waterfall opens, then a door opens. Go back to door and down in hole - time crystal located - found lost temple. Checkpoint.

This level is all stone and jungle dust. Inside the temple is stone and stone. There's body armor in here. Under the stairs is a lever. Now go left of altar and down stairs.

You get the time crystal. Now you fight monkeys and giant golems. Be careful of the pits in floor. Time your movements so the golems fall in. Kill them all - time portal appears. Go in and over.

When you jump out you get a cut scene - they're breaking in closer. "Good luck"

Robot Factory: 2315

There's an evil Dark Machinist Child that seeks robot army. You need ElectroTools to destroy the energy nodes (tall pillars of light). You are a dark girl robot. This is a metal level with lots of laser beams.

You start with a plasma autorifle and scifi handgun. Head to the left. You'll go through enemies, shoot laser beam shooters. Go around to scanner station - send the camera forward through security glowing wall to detonate it. Now you reach a lever to extend a bridge. Grab the armor to one side.

Go back to the starting room and head the other way through the door. Destroy the sentinel. Now you're in a red-electric-bar room. Shoot enemies. Around to other door. You're in a room with a ramp up. Head up to the higher level. The balcony has a bridge across it now. Now cross and go through to big pillar glowing. Kill enemies all around. Body armor near here too.

Go out to the other side of the red-bar room and grab the electrotool. Use it on the pillar to spin it and blow it up. Now Go up to corridow - pillar to left and another tool ahead. blow up this second pillar. 2 left. Go past tool to left. Turn off camera and go through round room. Now go up and see 3rd node. Go up to computer and activate crane then destroy it.

OK now you're at the 4th spot - moving energy node. Get near it and blast it. You have to destroy all enemies in this area before the red gates open. Now the time crystal is located. You'll run into a giant machine monster - must kill down energy level. as usual. When you do, there's a door behind - go up ramps to top. Crystal behind it on upper level. Now go back down to portal.

Space Station: 2401

This is the final level, you're back in your 'normal time'. First, grab the crystals here on the top level. Now go down to level 2 around the outer ring. Tag the 3 consoles around the edge to start the self destruct sequence. Then keep going down and go in when you hit the bottom. On the other side you'll see the hangar doors, go through.

Run all the way around to the airlock, and go outside. You can't survive forever out there so shoot carefully. Shoot down the 'timesplitter' ships. You're actively harmed the entire time outside so shoot them on each pass. When they're all dead, Now go back in.

Note from Adrian Brunton: You have made a slight mistake with timesplitters 2 on the last level when you shoot the enemy ships. You said when you shoot the ships, you'd always get hurt, but there is a corridor if you go straight out of the airlock, you'd come to a dead-end. To the left right at the end are two environmental suits. Put one on and you won't be hurt outside.

Head into the ring's center and take the elevator down to Hangar Level 5. The ship is right there - hop in and escape. Of course everything blows up when you leave, can no game end without the entire area being demolished??

The credits say: no monkeys were harmed
timesplitters will return

On Easy level, when you win: new arcade level - streets
cardboard characters - cheat

Note that you can't unlock new features if you play with a cheat enabled. The cardboard characters are cute though!

Here is guide to the guns on Timesplitters 2. It isnt much but I
think and hope it will help. I will rate every gun.

Silenced Pistol

The most basic gun on the game really. Good for starting out with, and only actually takes a few shots to kill. However, it lacks that bit of spark that a gun needs to have on a game like this, and it lacks a secondary fire option. Using two is good fun and more productive, as the accuracy is not bad. Not a bad gun.

45%

Luger Pistol

Very similar to the Silenced Pistol, but has that extra punch. Once again, having two is a good option, but still a secondary fire is needed. An improvement on the Silenced Pistol really.

53%

Garrett Revolver

This is a little more like it. The Garrett Revolver is a great gun as it does a lot of damage for what it is. Having two can really make you a threat, and on some levels you can actually begin the level with this gun. A good gun to say the least.

63%

Crossbow

Now, this gun is a lot of fun. If you can call it a gun, that is. The crossbow is available on the Aztec mostly, and is one of the most entertaining weapons on the whole game due to the originality. One of the best parts of the whole game is walking round a corner and finding someone running around with a bolt in their head. Also a very effective weapon, and there is a way to set your bolts alight so you can set people on fire with them. No secondary fire is a shame. The best gun so far, but it needs to do more damage to be a GREAT weapon.

75%

Vintage Rifle

Basically a Sniper Rifle, this Vintage Rifle is actually a little easier to aim with and can do great damage close up or from range. Obviously a great gun for when you have a sniper tower or two lying around, but aiming is still hard and you still need to have a good shot to hit some enemies with it. Also, there is no secondary fire. Good fun, but lacking something.

70%

Sniper Rifle

Many people really enjoy using a Sniper Rifle, but using the C Stick to aim this gun can be very tricky indeed. The scope is obviously useful, as with the Vintage Rifle, but the Sniper Rifle just falls behind that one because it is so hard to aim. No secondary fire still though. Still good though.

70%

Flamethrower

Wow! A flamethrower you shout. Unfortunately, this gun is not what it seems to be. To actually set someone alight with it you need to be basically standing next to them, and then they run into you and set you alight anyway. With no range or secondary fire and a huge risk of damaging yourself, this is just not a worthy gun. Shame really, but it is original, so that pulls the marks up a bit.

45%

Shotgun

Now this is a quality bit of equipment. The shotgun can kill instantly if you hit someone in the right place (the head, basically) and can shoot twice to almost certainly kill with the right aim. So powerful but so simplistic, and you can get two of them and go on a rampage. Needs a lot of reloading though, and a miss could cost you dear. No secondary fire again, but hey, this is a great weapon for so many reasons. One of my favourites.

90%

Tactical 12-Gauge

In close combat, this gun is one of the most effective available. It also has a secondary fire, in which it shoots two bullets instead of one. This gun takes a lot of time to reload though (you must do so after every 8 bullets used), and at range is not brilliant. All the same it is very powerful and a prolific weapon.

83%

Soviet S47

This gun lacks a bit of power, but the secondary fire is as a grenade launcher, so this weapon has a lot of variety in it. Unfortunately not very powerful, but shoots like a machinegun, so careful aiming could lead you to victory. You can get two as well, which is very entertaining. Good against weak enemies, lacking against others.

74%

Tommy Gun

This is a very useful gun. It kills within a few seconds if aimed properly, and if you happen to have two, you are a huge threat to even the most healthy and protected person on the level. No secondary fire is a shame, but this gun is so powerful that it doesnt matter. Really, really worthwhile.

91%

Sci-Fi Handgun

A pretty basic weapon that packs a bit of a punch. This gun shoots in spurts of 3, so can do decent amounts of damage. Not really worthwhile against strong opponents, but for your everyday enemy, not bad.

68%

Lasergun

A pretty powerful gun, the Lasergun is one that can kill instantly if charged up for long enough. The secondary fire is a bit odd, but can help for firing smaller shots than a huge and impressive beam. Very useful and accurate, just not entertaining enough in my opinion. A good gun to say the least.

80%

Electrotool

This could be the best weapon on the game. A beam of lightning? Yes, please. Using either the primary or secondary fire on an opponent will freeze him or her in her tracks, and keep them there until they die, basically. Takes a bit of time to kill, but watching the opponent squirm is worthwhile, it doesnt matter. Really original and terrifying. Wonderful.

96%

Plasma Autorifle

Another quality bit of kit is this, the Plasma Autorifle. The primary fire is excellent, as your shots get quicker and quicker until the gun overheats (by which point it doesnt matter anyway) and the secondary fire is the best on the game. Use it to fling a sticky grenade at your opponent, then watch them explode. There is no possible way that an opponent can stay alive once you have hit them with one of these grenades. Just run away from them and hear the explosion behind you. A priceless weapon.

93%

SBP90 Machinegun

Another great weapon that acts a lot like the Tommy gun. Having two is incredible fun, as this gun can shoot so many bullets in a round (being a machinegun) Quite accurate and bringing the target up zooms you in a bit. Still lacks a bit of punch to be the top weapon, but great fun.

87%

Minigun

For power, nothing beats a Minigun. Not very accurate, but it doesnt need to be. A few bullets on target are all you need to kill someone, making this the ultimate go berserk weapon. Use the secondary fire well, as if you dont the gun will take a couple of seconds to begin firing, and those few seconds could be crucial. This gun does overheat, but that is easy to fix, just turn it off until it cools all the way down, and then stick it back on. Great fun, and hardly any downsides. Precious.

97%

Grenade Launcher

Now this is fun. Unfortunately, the accuracy leaves much to be desired. Using the primary fire you need to hit someone to kill them, or get lucky when the missed grenades explode on the floor. The secondary fire does not kill instantly but is more entertaining. It shoots fire, basically, setting your opponent alight. Good but not great, and too risky in small spaces.

78%

Rocket Launcher

Yay! A great weapon at range (although not quite so useful at close range) the Rocket Launcher is an extremely powerful bit of machinery. The primary fire is good aiming down a narrow corridor, but the secondary is the best fun. 3 rockets at once? Great! A great time to use this is from the top of the main building on the Ice Station level, and aim for an opponent in one of the Sniper towers. Just blast all 3 rockets at the tower, and they will almost certainly die. Original, powerful and entertaining, just not good enough at close quarters. An excellent gun.

90%

Homing Launcher

A slight improvement on the Rocket Launcher really. The ability to hit people in odd places is great but otherwise this is a Rocket Launcher. Not that it's a bad thing!
