CHALLENGE MODE

PANE IN THE NECK - (GLASS SMASH)
As soon as this level begins, run as fast as you can to the
large building. Fire two grenades into each room to blow out the
windows. Once you have done this, turn left and fire a grenade
into the small building and then to the building on the right.
Now there is one small building left, with four windows
remaining. You will find this at the far end of the compound,
and all you have to do is shoot a grenade inside the building to
finish of the job.

BRICKING IT (GLASS SMASH)
This is slightly more difficult than the previous challenge, as
you will be using bricks instead of grenades. Using the same
pattern as before, head along towards the large building and
smash the panes of glass at the bottom. Now travel along to the
side of the building, heading up the steps. Throw a brick
through the window on the door and then smash the three windows
inside the building (Using the Z button will give you more
distance on the throw). Quickly drop off the ledge and follow
the route as before to clear out the three remaining buildings.

STAIN REMOVAL (GLASS SMASH)
Firstly you will need to locate all the panes of glass to
familiarise yourself with the layout of the level. Once you know
where all the panes of glass are, you will need to practise your
aiming using the secondary fire while on the move. When you
think you are ready, give it a go.

FIGHT OFF THE LIVING DEAD (BEHEAD THE UNDEAD)
There is no time limit on this challenge, as you will just have
to survive as long as possible. The aim of this game is to kill
as many zombies as possible, gaining points. You will be in an
enclosed area and youll have three seconds to get back in it,
if you go out. The best way to tackle this challenge is to
continuously move from one side to the other, firing random
shots at the large group of zombies. This will usually kill a
small number of them in one shot.

SERGIOS LAST STAND (BEHEAD THE UNDEAD)
This is very similar to the previous challenge, except this time
around the area your aloud to stand in is smaller, and the
zombies will come from all different directions. Move around the
small section and even outside the area where your not aloud,
shooting at the small number of zombies. If you are set alight
by one of the zombies and have a fire extinguisher, stand near
one of the small pillars and fire, so that the spray bounces of
the pillar and cools you down.

DAY OF THE DAMMED (BEHEAD THE UNDEAD)
This challenge is fairly easy, even though you will be fighting
the zombies your bare fists. Throwing a punch before you reach a
zombie will send their heads flying off. As each wave passes,
the zombies will become faster and will appear from all around.
So the best thing to do is do is hit and run. When the zombies
are close to you hit them, move back and then attack them
again.

SILENT BUT DEADLY (INFILTRATION)
All you have to do is destroy the communications and enter the
Dam within the time period. But the only problem is that its
not as easy as it sounds, as you will have to avoid being
spotted by the guards. If you are spotted, your points will
start to decrease until it reaches zero. So the best thing to do
is a headshot to all of the guards, so that you can blow up the
dish.

TROUBLE AT THE DOCKS (INFILTRATION)
This level is set in Chicago, and you will have to make it from
the beginning to the first warehouse without getting spotted
within the 3-minute time limit that is available. Drop down and
turn left, and wait for the guard to come. As soon as you see
him shoot him in the head and then do the same to the other
guard over the other side. Head up the steps killing the guard
that is patrolling and then head up the long steps. Shoot the
guard here and then head down to the bottom floor killing the
two guards that are here and then outside to complete the
Challenge.

ESCAPE FROM NEOTOKYO (INFILTATION)
This is quite a simple and easy challenge. As soon as the level
begins, put on your temporal uplink so that you can see where
the cameras vision is and the police car that is patrolling.
All you have to do is avoid getting seen by any of these, by
dodging he red light on the temporal uplink.

GONE BANANAS (BANANA CHOMP)
Collect all the bananas in 55 seconds for a gold award. As soon
as this challenge begins run through the passageway as fast as
you can, collecting the 3 bananas. Dodge around the pillars to
get the other bananas and then head towards the opening. Run up
the slope where the monkey-like face is and then up the steps
opposite. Drop off the ledge and through the next opening, Turn
left to collect the single banana and do a 180 degree turn.
Collect the four bananas in the passageway and run through one
of the two openings available. Collect the single banana and
take the first right. Collect all the bananas in this area and
then head to the final section for the last bananas.

MONKEY BUSINESS (BANANA CHOMP)
Exactly the same as the previous challenge, except this time,
your path is littered with zombies. Keep to the same route as
used in the previous challenge, but this time around you will
have to make sure you dodge the zombies. It may take you a few
attempts to get it perfect.

PLAYING WITH FIRE (BANANA CHOMP)
This is one very tough challenge to complete as you are on fire
and there is no way of putting it out. After a few attempts, you
will know where most of the bananas are.

TAKE EM DOWN (CUT-OUT SHOOT-OUT)
The aim of this challenge is to shoot as many cutouts as
possible and as accurate as possible. The more accurate you are,
the more points you will gain. If you shoot the civilian
cutouts, you will be deducted points.

FALL OUT (CUT-OUT SHOOT-OUT)
There are 17 targets for you to shoot, and you must shoot them
as quick as you possibly can, because if you dont the targets
will start deducting points from your total. You will have to
step in certain places to trigger the targets to pop up. Try to
shoot them all as quickly as possible.

PICK YER PIECE (CUT-OUT SHOOT-OUT)
There will be no running in this challenge, as you will be
shooting from a window. Repeat this challenge a few times to
memorise where each target pops up. This will be very helpful
and will earn you gold very easily.

BADASS BUSPASS IMPASSE (TIMESPLITTERS STORY CLASSIC)
All you have to do is make your way through the streets to the
end, where you will have to collect an item. Once you have
collected the item, make your way back to the beginning of the
level to finish of the level.
Remember to run as fast as you can, and only to shoot the
enemies in front of you.

BUT WHERE DO THE BATTERIES GO? (TIMESPLITTERS STORY
CLASSIC)
On this challenge, you will have to collect the batteries from
the lower levels and bring them back to the beginning without
getting killed. Explore the level until you are ready to compete
with the challenge.

HIT ME BABY ONE MOREGUE TIME (TIMESPLITTERS STORY CLASSIC)
If you thought the previous challenge was difficult, then youre
in for a surprise. Dodge your way past the zombies until you
reach the second floor where you will find the package. Collect
the package and then drop off the ledge and make your way back
to the beginning where the time portal will be waiting for you.

SIMIAN SHOOTOUT (MONKEYING AROUND)
Monkeys will be flying from one side to another, with some
coming at you. Aim right in the middle where the bell is and as
soon as any monkey goes onto your target, fire the secondary
fire as it will shoot double.

MONKEY MAYHEM (MONKEYING AROUND)
Whatever you do, dont shoot the Monkeys. You will have to shoot
the fruit that the monkeys carry to get points. The best way to
complete the challenge is to look to the right where there is a
tall wooden pole. Aim to the left and as soon as the monkeys
fruit are on your aim, fire.

DAM BURSTERS (MONKEYING AROUND)
Activate your secondary fire and swing from side to side,
tapping the fire button. Shoot as many flying monkeys as you can
and make sure they dont hit the Dam wall, otherwise points get
deducted.

TimeSplitters2, the best FPS to be on any console. I have
written this guide so that anyone that reads this can also see
the beauty of this game. This guide has been written for the NGC
version of the game, but this guide only points out the basics
of combat, so it can be used for al versions of the game. But,
before I start, I urge you to read the instruction manual. Like
I say about every game, read the instruction manual because it
can contain many tips on how to be the best. And this game is no
exception. In fact, the TS2 instruction manual clearly points
out key hints when fighting and when fiddling around with the
options. So, once youve read that, feel free to read my guide.

***************
Getting Started
***************

If you dont own or havent played TimeSplitters, then I suggest
you read this section. If you think you already know the basics,
then skip to the next section. TS2 is a very easy game to get
the hang of, and the controls are also very easy to use. But I
have changed a few of the controls because I found the originals
a tad too hard to use. The two major things I have changed is
the button to change weapon, and the main controls to move my
character around. Rather than using the Analogue stick to move
forwards and backwards, and using the C-Stick to turn for side
to side, I prefer to use the Analogue stick for complete
control. So, I made it so that the C-Stick was to strafe
instead. I also couldnt get used to using the D-Pad to change
weapons, and I defiantly needed to change it if I wanted to
change my weapon during battle. So, rather than using the D-Pad,
I changed it so that I use the Y button to change weapon. This
means that I can only go to the next weapon though, and not
change back to the previous one. But I dont find this any
trouble, because your weapons are put from worst to best, left
to right. I also changed it so that the B button reloads, and
that the X button crouches. For my preferences, I kept them
all to the default setting apart from the weapon pick up. I
prefer the weapon pick up to be set to Never, meaning that my
weapon wont change during a shoot-out because I run over
another gun.

So, now youre all ready for battle, so get ready for some
hardcore shooting. But, before you go and start a massive
free-for-all, make sure you know what character you are going to
use. There are over 120 characters on TS2, so naming them all
would take a lifetime. Instead, I have a few words of wisdom.
Before you select a character, make sure to look at the
characters attributes. They have three categories: agility,
stamina and accuracy. My tip is to select a character that has a
high level of stamina and accuracy. This will allow you to run
faster and lock-on to opponents a lot easier. But, I have one
more tip for you before you go and kick some whoop-ass. And that
is to know your weapons, so look at the next section.

**************
The Weapons
**************

Here we are then, the weapons selection. And by God, the weapons
are huge on TS2. So, my tip was to learn your weapons, right?
Well, below I have written the original weapons list, followed
by a rating and what their second function is.

1. Silenced Pistol Ouch. This is your bob-standard weapon, but
it does James Bond fine, so itll suit you as well.
Unfortunately, the TS2 version only has one function, and
doesnt have a back up rocket launcher that pops out from
underneath the trigger. It caries 8 bullets in one round, and
fires pretty slowly. But, you can get them in double, and it is
silenced so it can help when youve gone all Solid Snake style.
So, Ill give this weapon a 4/10.

2. Luger Pistol The German WWII choice of weapon, bad choice
Mr. Hitler. Very similar to the Silenced Pistol, but it fires
slower and only carries 7 bullets per round. But, it does do a
tad bit more damage. Overall, a very poor weapon, which is why
Id give it 3/10.

3. Garret Revolver - Similar to the previous two, but it makes
you feel like a cowboy. Only holds 6 bullets per round, but it
does do more damage than the previous two. A nice 5/10.

4. Crossbow Now were talking. Best suited for the Aztec
level, and for one main reason. OK, take a deep breath. You can
actually set these little babies on fire, hurling out flaming
bolts. On impact, they engulf the object. Plus, it has a handy
little zoom feature as well, so Ill give it a 6/10.

5. Vintage Rifle Yes, it looks and is very similar to the
Sniper Rifle, but it has a weaker zoom function. Very handy from
long range and when your hiding in corners, this gets a handy
6/10.

6. Sniper Rifle Pretty much the same as above, but can zoom
further and looks cooler with two little glass pieces. Uses the
same ammo as the Vintage Rifle, which is handy. The Sniper Rifle
gets 7/10.

7. Flame Thrower Yup, you heard me. Take a second to think
about what youll do with this baby. It comes with a reasonable
amount of gas, so youll be flickering the flame for quite a
while. Unfortunately, the flame doesnt shoot very far, and you
usually get caught on fire as well. But, because of the
originality, Ill give the Flame Thrower an 8/10.

8. Shotgun One of my favourite weapons, mainly because you can
hold two at a time and it causes a hell of a lot of damage. But,
theres a downer, it does take a year to reload, which is real
shame. Still, the Shotgun deserves a 7/10.

9. Tactical 12-Gauge Thank you God. This sweet peach is the
king of close range blasters. Holding 8 shots per round, and the
function to shoot two at a time by pressing Z, makes this one
of the best guns on the game. A well deserved 8/10.

10. Soviet S47 Basically an AK-47 from the Bond films, but a
lot better. The rapid fire is nice, although a bit too slow for
my liking, but the second feature sets it apart from the rest.
Pressing Z will hurl a grenade from this gun, kaboom! A sweet
7/10 is in order here.

11. Tommy Gun The golden oldies are here, at last. And, not
surprisingly, this little beast lives up to the history books.
Shoots a bit faster than the S47, but doesnt have a second fire
function. Also holds a lot of bullets per round, which makes a
good old 7/10.

12. Sci-fi Handgun 2050 here we come. This is the futures
version of the Silenced Pistol, but the three purple bullets you
shoot at a time can ricochets of walls and other objects. This
gets a 6/10, only because its a danger to you as well.

13. Lasergun Excellent. Shoots a beam of red laser, and can
also be charged up for maximum damage. The second function is a
very handy shield, which can deflect other bullets.
Unfortunately, using the shield will slowly burn away your ammo.
But, this beauty still deserves an 8/10.

14. Electro Tool Sweet Jesus. Its like one of those things
from Star Trek. This spinning wheel can fire a long streak of
blue electricity, which makes the person stay where they are if
you hit them. This is a very useful gun from far away and up
close, so it gets a 9/10.

15. Plasma Auto-Rifle Now were talking. Rapid fire and sticky
grenades as a second function make this gun a dream to use.
Unfortunately, it can burnout if you hold the trigger down for
too long. But, you can sleep tight with this gun, so it gets a
9/10.

16. SBP90 Machine Gun This is the definition of rapid. This
shoots out bullets faster than any other gun on the game, which
is very useful. No second feature, which is a shame, but this
still gets a 9/10 for the speed alone.

17. Minigun Ill be back. Arnie would be proud of this little
tiger. Almost as big as the screen, this is only a bit slower
than the SBP90. Make sure to keep the second function on though,
making the wheel spin so you can shoot instantly. One small
problem, it can burnout and slow down a little. But this is no
problem, so the Minigun gets a brilliant 10/10.

18. Grenade Launcher A nice little package, but best used from
close range. The first fire is a grenade, which splits into
three when it hits a wall. The grenades blow up on impact when
they hit an opponent as well, very nice. The second feature
sends a flaming grenade, but make sure you know how you use
this, because it fires a lot further than the normal grenade. A
cool little gun with a lot of potential, 8/10.

19. Rocket Launcher The boys are back in town. This big mother
can shoot a massive rocket from its spout, which makes a huge
explosion. The only problem is, the rockets are quite slow and
you will need to aim at the floor when trying to hit someone.
You can also fire three rockets at a time when using the second
feature. Meaning that the Rocket Launcher gets an 8/10.

20. Homing Launcher Dont try this at home kids. Uses the same
ammo as the Rocket Launcher, and fires the same rockets, but
they lock onto enemies. This weapon allows you to kill lots of
opponents from long range, and also lets you fire three rockets
at once. Very smart, 10/10.

21. Proximity Mine I would advise you to not use these in
combat, but they can be really great when playing with friends.
Brilliant for setting traps, but they can be easily avoided by
running towards them and then running backwards. But still, 8/10
because of the friends bit.

22. Remote Mine Similar to the above, but you need to set
these off by yourself. Also good for making traps, and they
cant be avoided. Just watch your opponents screen to know when
theyre coming, and then let rip. 9/10.

23. Timed Mine This is missing something from the other mines.
Set off after a certain amount of time, the only use I can find
is when you are desperate and need to throw them on someone.
But, they do make a big bang, so Ill give it a 5/10.

24. TNT Similar to the Timed Mine. Not very useful, but makes
a big bang. You only get one at a time as well, so this gets a
4/10.

25. Fire Extinguisher A weapon? Well, no, not really. But this
is essential when using the Flame Thrower, just in case of the
back fore. Just aim at your feet and pull the trigger. How
refreshing. 5/10.

So, thats the original weapons, but there are a few to unlock
in the Arcade Leagues and in the Challenge mode. As Ive said
before, its essential you know how to use every one of them,
because you dont know when youll need to use them.

Battle Tips
***********

Seeing as this is a FPS, the obvious thing to do is go and kill
people. But, things arent always that simple. So, follow these
simple tips and you should be the best in your group of mates.

- First things first, make sure you get used to the area that
you are playing in. Find out where all the power-ups are, where
all the hiding places are and where all the weapons are. If you
are ever in need of health, make sure you know where a health
pack is. It may sound silly, but this really is essential.

- So, you know where the hiding places are, use them. Try and go
unnoticed in TS2, rather than being the attention seeker. Hiding
will mean you dont get hurt, and will also give you a large
chance of getting big kills.

- Use your noggin in TS2. Use the right weapons at the right
time. Theres no point in using a Rocket Launcher in a confined
space, and using the Shotgun from long range.

- Crouch and strafe a lot to miss enemy fire. Strafing around
corners can also allow you to face an opponent without turning,
meaning you can shoot at them first and get the kill.

- Always use the radar. Using it will allow you to see where
your opponents are and will help you to know when to shoot. Use
it to see if any of your teammates are near you as well, and
check to see if they need any help.

- Be sure to get to the power ups before any one else. The
invisibility power up is the best, so use this to its potential.
But even when you are invisible, dont run up to an opponent too
fast, because you can still be seen, just slightly.

- Before you go into a room with opponents in it, make sure you
reload your weapon. This allows you to shoot more bullets, and
will save you from reloading at an important time.

So, use my tips to become a master. Oh, you would.

Maps
******

The arenas in TS2 are nothing but brilliant, but its as shame
that the maps from Golden Eye and Perfect Dark arent on the
game. But, this can be overcome. Below is a website, that
explains how to make the maps step by step. Well, here it is:

http://ts2.clan-ur.com/index.php?page=maps/map.php

Well, thats all I have to say, so I hope you use my guide and I
hope its useful.
